Torn Feelings

"No, it's mostly tidy. Maybe a few pieces of clothing on the floor, but other than that, it's clean."

At least he thought he cleaned it earlier that week.

"Hmm, no harm in a few clothe lying around I suppose." She shrugged as she continued to pull him along to the car, only letting go when they had finally made it. "So, I'll meet you at your place?" She rose her brows as she stood by her car, opening the drivers side and putting one of her legs in, waiting for Drake's response.

"See you at my place," he said before getting into his car.

They drove about ten-fifteen minutes until they got to a small apartment building. He waited her Niko to get out of her car before he escorted her to his apartment.

Niko smiled, and with the nod of her head she got into her car and followed after Drake. All throughout the drive she couldn't help but look down at the ring every once in a while, a happy, giddy feeling welling up in the pit of her stomach every time she did so. Finally he proposed! More than once since she had started at the office the female co workers had always asked about him, wondering why he hadn't proposed if they had been together so long, and even Niko found herself wondering, yet the thought was always dropped. Their relationship had been inconsistent recently, as well as just over the years in general, so this had certainly been a surprise.

And she was so excited! Yet, as she continued to think about it, she thought about her father. What would he think?

It brought a sinking feeling to her stomach, but she pushed the thought aside as they made it to Drake apartment, putting a smile on her face as she got out of the car and walked over to him.

Drake opened the door for her and walked her in. He looked around for a moment and realized that he did clean his apartment.

For once, Niko can't yell at me about the cleanliness of my apartment, he thought.

Niko gave Drake a quick nod and smile before walking into the apartment, her instant reaction to look around and see if he actually had cleaned up, which to her surprise she actually had. "Looks like you really did clean the place up," she said, turning back to look at him before she walked over and wrapped her arms around his middle, resting her head against him. "You've surprised me again."

"I know," he responded. "I'm full of surprises today."

He looked at her. "So..."
