[Lore Magus]

The setting is modern day Tokyo; where during the day the city seems more or less peaceful, but during the night it's teeming with violence and crime, practically ruled by the Yakuza. To make matters worse: there are some among the ranks of the immense gang with special abilities who choose to abuse them for personal gain. Standard police forces are either incapable of capturing the gangsters, too afraid of them to make the attempt, or, in rare cases, some officials are bribed or personally threatened to back off. Many people aware of the danger are too fearful to go out after dark to even stop at a convenience store or vending machine, and those working at night fear for their lives and well-being. Despite all of this, there is still a select few people who feel incapable of idly watching the chaos. This is a story of one such person, a young man with special abilities of his own and a mastery of various styles of kung-fu, and the people he comes to meet and the trials he will face in the near future as he struggles to keep his true identity as a vigilante crime fighter secret.​

As for side characters, the same template can be used, but stuff like Bio and Trivia are more optional, and you can also be more vague with stuff like Age, Powers, or Accessories. Minor characters, like random thugs and whatnot that don't really matter we won't be needing any character sheets, but they should only be used when it has been decided upon, and will typically be used by whoever has fewer or none of their own pre-made characters present in the scene, such as moments when only certain main characters are involved in a skirmish and there are members with no characters present in the fight.

Personality: At first glance, Aya appears to be a proper lady, if a bit haughty. She speaks condescendingly, and has an air of "better than thou" around her, much to her classmates' chagrin. But once one gets to talk to her, oftentimes they find it easier to approach her afterwards. She has a habit of being practical over observing what is considered to be standard or nice.

Weapons/Martial arts/Powers: Aya is practiced in the basics of Karate and Jiujitsu, but is far from an expert. She tends to fight purely on instinct and experience rather than trained responses. Her power is the ability to manipulate slicing and cuts. Though she is practiced with swords and knives, she can inflict cuts even with her bare hands, as though borrowing from Tiger Style Kung Fu. When she activates her power, her physical stats are boosted dramatically and her hair turns red.

Apparel/Accessories: She typically wears a headband and a school girl's dress. She doesn't change her appearance too much as a vigilante, relying on her red hair and increased speed to prevent recognition.

Short Bio: Aya is the sole child of the Mitsuba family. Raised in a middle class home, she got along well with the instructor of the dojo near her house. She learned from him during her childhood, the values of honor and justice being instilled in her at a young age. Though eventually her family moved to Tokyo due to her parents' jobs, she still bore them in mind. And upon discovering her powers, she felt like she had to do something with them. Something more than just being a good daughter, going to school, being popular, and getting good grades. She had a gift given to her to help people, and nobody would tell her otherwise.

Extra Info/Trivia: Her vigilante name is Kouken. She still attends school and lives with her parents, but goes out for vigilante activities during the night. Consequently, her sleep schedule is a little messed up.

She's a very out-going and lively girl, loving to have a nice laugh and joke around. However, when the time calls for it, she can be cold and calculating, prefering to shut away her emotions. She's also very relentless in battle, never giving up a fight and battling until her opponent has gotten what they deserve. This means that her allies/friends would have to forcefully pull her out of the fight as she sometimes gets out of control.

Weapons/Martial arts/Powers:
In terms of weapons, she carries around dual FN-P90s, styled with shells to match her Hero costume. She has also had quite a bit of hand-to-hand combat training, enough to hold her own in a fight without her guns. As for her power, as referenced by her suit, she is able to transform into a circuit racing car, though one suited for the road as well as the track. The car in question is a Praga R1R, though this one has had it's standard engine swapped for a heavily modified RB26DETT inline-6 This one has been tuned so that it produces 930 bhp with a redline of 10,500 rpm.

When not wearing her racing overalls, helmet, gloves and boots, she can be seen wearing the classic Japanese sailor school uniform, with a white shirt, black pleated skirt with studded belt, pink neckerchief, black collar, black and pink stripedglove from her knuckles to her elbow, and knee-high black leather combat boots. When she is running around as a vigilante, she wears a suit insipred by circuit racing cars (e.g. LMP cars, Formula 1 cars, etc...).

An Ling is very calm, sharp, and cool-headed, but also very kind-hearted. Despite this, there may be times when he acts a little selfishly when they concern sensitive subjects. Directly related to this: he also has a strong sense of justice and honor, and can't stand seeing innocent people being unfairly treated or harmed.

An Ling is very agile and flexible, as a result of years of kung-fu training. He is skilled in most of the traditional styles of kung-fu. He also possesses powers of fire creation and control. Typically he utilizes fire to form fire balls, a katana or pair of Chinese broadswords, and streams of flames, but if he overexerts himself with his powers her runs the risk of overheating and bursting into flames himself. Every so often his powers will flip-flop and reverse to ice, which also causes his body to change into that of a little girl; his "loli form".

During the day he will mostly be seen either wearing his work uniform on his way to and from work, as well as while he's actually at work. Otherwise, he typically wears a white, button-up long-sleeve shirt with a pair of black slacks during his off-time. During the night, he wears special clothes (see Hien Pics) that are designed specifically to match Hien's body regardless of form, as well as a long black scarf not shown in the images. He also has a black flip phone at all times; no particular straps or other accessories are on the phone though.

An Ling lived his youthful years in the homeland of his mother, China, where he was trained day in and day out in many different styles of kung-fu. Not only this, but his father also taught him Japanese kendo and jujitsu. Physical prowess wasn't the only things he was taught either; his family raised him to value the lives of others and always do his best to aid those in need, effectively making him one of the most favored young men by their neighbors and fellow townsfolk. Despite his dedication to his rigorous curriculum, there were times when he was incapable of training; once or twice a month there were times when a most unusual incident would happen beginning shortly after he turned 10: he would suddenly and randomly undergo a complete gender swap.

When it began to happen they tried to find out what had caused it, but despite searching for a cause and making attempts to reverse the shift every month they eventually ran out of possible remedies, and whenever he attempted to continue training in this form his body didn't respond how he wanted, especially as he began getting older but the girl form remained the same age. Despite all of this, he was such a prodigy that he eventually reached a point where there was little more he could learn in their area. Instead of seeking out a xiaolin temple to begin learning even more styles like his family advised of him, the boy couldn't hold in his curiosity about the other half of his heritage. His father had told him many things over the years about his home in Japan, and the boy was simply fascinated by them. He declared to his family that he wished to see his father's homeland, and after gaining their approval he moved to the capital city of Japan.

After arriving, everywhere he looked there was a massive culture shock, but nothing was bigger than the level of blatant crime in the area. Not bearing to stand idly by as such atrocities happened to innocent people, he decided to do something about it during the time when such things were most active: the night. It was during his first night that he discovered a unique ability he had that suddenly revealed itself to him: he was able to conjure and manipulate fire. Not only that, but when his next gender shift happened, he discovered that these powers reversed into those of ice. Until then, however, he had momentarily forgotten about this shift, and took some time to come up with a cover story in case he were to change on important dates such as after he got a job. With everything set up, he finally regulated his routine of day work and crime fighting at night, and his family even helped out by sending him a special outfit that was specially made to perfectly fit any person who wore it. Thus, under the cover of night and the code-name Hien, he became Tokyo's first ever vigilante crime fighting hero and was well known across the city before he even knew it, being constantly careful to make sure no one knew his real identity.

Li Fu retains the knowledge and experience from her normal state of being An Ling, but she is more excitable and childish at times, and can be a tad bit gullible. Even so, she can still tell when something's wrong with a situation, and will treat thugs that harm or mistreat others for amusement or gain without any resentment or mercy.

Li Fu can still use the martial arts she had been practicing at her whole life, but due to the body change she will be somewhat sloppy and can be clumsy at times. In "loli form" she has powers of ice creation and control, and when using her powers she will launch icicle spears at enemies, create an ice spear or bo staff to weild, and encase the ground in ice while creating ice skates on her feet. With ice she is less likely to overexert herself, but as she does she will rapidly get frostbite and eventually become fully encased in a block of ice.

Li Fu begrudgingly wears the dresses sent by the family from home since she can't simply go out and buy new clothes whenever, for various reasons, and all the other clothes in the apartment are too big. During the night, she wears special clothes (see Hien Pics) that are designed specifically to match Hien's body regardless of form, as well as a long black scarf not shown in the images. Personality: Matt is the type of leader who sends his men to action using purely their fear of him and the respect of his strategies, being a decent fighter himself he still doesn't like getting his own hands dirty.

Weapons/Martial arts/Powers:
Metal Manipulation- Able to mold metal he is touching into whatever he can think of (Larger the object the longer time it takes to do), he typically uses this ability to create make shift weapons in a battle, make shift cells or whatever the moment requires. He's also able to sense the amount of metal, what metals it's formed with and if anyone is touching it.
Street fighting- With no formal Martial arts fighting he uses a combination of his powers and fighting skills he's picked up over the years.

Apparel/Accessories: Matt is typically found wearing one of two outfits, his basic shirt, tie, waist coat and formal pants when heading to his job as a bartender, and on his time off he takes a much more relaxed look, swapping out his suit for a simple pair of jeans, baggy t-shirt and a pair of his favourite trainers.

Short Bio: Matt even as he was younger was one for a temper and if you'd believe it he's actually gotten better at dealing with it, before he'd pick a fight till either he was unconscious or his opponent or typically opponents cause unlike them he didn't think allies were much help. Of course this got him beaten and broken again and again, never quite able to do much better, but with each beat down he was stronger and better prepared for the next. Until finally he was able to take on those gangs, that was also the day he discovered his ability, what happened was someone who had brought a tire iron to the fight and the moment Matt laid his hand on it, it changed forming around his fist using it as brass nuckles. Since then he's done his best to hone both his skills as a fighter and his skills with his abilities. It was during this time when he began to found his gang, at first it was a few who told him they were under his control after beating their leader, and so he began to grow it out, until he had one of the largest gangs in the city. During this time he bought himself a bar which has been a bit of a pet project of his as he's been keeping it in good condition along with using it as his base of operations, having gang meetings in the basement.

Agent Alton/Sakamoto is a logical individual. He uses his brain to figure things out. He tends to want to talk things out if possible, and won't resort to violence unless absolutely necessary. He has a strong sense of justice, and will do whatever it takes to bring justice, even if that means disobeying his superiors. He has a sense of humor, and will often make jokes when he's under pressure. He manages to remain calm even in the face of adversity (For example, he sneaks documents out of the PSIA to give them to Hien). He can get finicky when things aren't exactly as he set them up, such as when his tie isn't straight.

Weapons/Martial arts/Powers:

When he was a cop, he trained himself in Parkour so that he could run away or chase someone. He carries a Glock-17 pistol tucked under his jacket, and carries a SiG-552 in his trunk that when folded, can fit in his jacket. When in a raid, he uses an M4 similar to a US SWAT Team.

His only "power" to speak of is improved marksmanship with weapons.

He carries a US Passport (With the name Kellyn Alton) that he uses when undercover.

Short Bio:

To be brief, Agent Sakamoto is only Half-Japanese. When he turned 22, he revoked his American Citizenship. He worked as a uniformed cop for a small period before applying to the PSIA. When he joined the PSIA, he was placed in the Internal threats department, and started an operation monitoring the Yakuza. Soon, he made contact with several vigilantes, and started acting as an informant, releasing information on the Yakuza and gangs among other things.

He derives pleasure primarily from , as he puts it, being 'in the mix'. He loves being in the center of the maelstrom, watching as various players in any given scenario reach their goals or, alternatively, meet their end. His particular talent - his facility as a veritable sponge of hearsay and hidden fact alike - is merely something weaponized towards this end. For there to be a crisis that doesn't - in some way, tangentially involve him - is simply unacceptable. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]Aside from that, Kido is most readily identified by his flamboyance, carrying himself in ways meant to draw attention. He cares not whether people approve of him, only that they acknowledge him at all. Those who treat him with apathy earn his vitriol and scorn. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]While Kido is an intelligent man, his status as a prominent information broker is primarily strengthened by his 'power'. Masakatsu Kido is host to a shadow being of sorts, which he can conjure upon a whim. An shapeless mass of darkness, it has no way of interacting with the outside world outside of simply listening, and observing, accurately taking in the sights and sounds produced within a fairly sizable radius of it with perfect recollection. This information is then relayed back to Kido, a pristine set of memories and knowledge to behold. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]Outside of this utility, the mass of darkness is able to contract and expand to a substantial size, which is generally useful for obscuring vision to facilitate an escape. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]Apparel/Accessories: Quite simply, Kido dresses to impress. Suits (with pinstripes, a strange fascination of his!) are the norm, and in eye-popping colors. Yellow and orange are the personal favorites, although pink is a whole new world of daring that even Kido wishes he had the confidence for. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]Short Bio: Matsukatsu Kido is a city boy from Tokyo, through and through, born and raised. From a young age, he became enamored with, of all things, city lights. The brightness, the way they drew the eye - that was the kind of energy Kido was obsessed with. And so, in a culture that praised modesty, Kido craved attention through any means necessary. In his innocent, school years, this manifested in the forms of being the school's resident gossip spreader. Events in his life would, however, twist and subvert this fascination of his.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]Kido's father was a decorated police officer, a bastion of society. At least, that was what the masses had believed for the longest time. In truth, he was a beacon of corruption, spreading inside information to the Yakuza for certain favors. A tip here, and peace treaty there; spread information was the currency in which Kido's father subsisted on. Eventually, however, he was found out and disgraced, the subject of a media-focused scandal: "Matsukatsu Okada, the smiling face of corruption."[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]Around this time, Kido's power manifested, a shadow figure that he could not yet control. This shadow figure - by some workings of strange fate - found itself into the cell of Matsukatsu Okada, just as his life was taken by an inside man from the prison. Okada had agreed to a plea of sorts that would implicate a large number of Yakuza. That simply could not be accepted.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#0f0f0f]When the shadow figure relayed this information back to Kido in what was at first a painful transmission of knowledge, Kido reacted not with shock, but with a perverse fascination, triggering his entry into the underworld. [/BCOLOR]

Personality:
Veronica is shy, but not that kind of shy. She simply prefers working alone, and isn't too fond of teamwork. After having to work with someone, she will tend to run away once the fight is over.

Veronica is very relentless, and some might say merciless. It is difficult for her to not torment enemies, whether it be a mere robber or a great demon lord. This is due to her seeking strength, and she believes that holding back will make her weaker.

Veronica does have a warm side to open up to once you get to know her. In general, she is depicted as antisocial and introverted, always silent unless spoken to.

Weapons/Martial arts/Powers:
Her abilities are primarily magic-based. As a magician of the Veronica family, her bloodline specialty is Techno-magic. Her abilities can imbue magic into technology, allowing her to take control of it. She can summon 'cyber-constructs' from the ground for offense and defense purposes, as well as manipulating technology.

As an extension of her abilities, summoning more 'traditional' technology like Golems of Jewish or Mayan Legends is possible.

As an extension of these abilities, she can imbue constructs onto her body, such as using solar panels to generate energy, or using electricity to stun opponents.

Her familiar is the False Nightingale, a mechanical avian being said to be from a mystical land known as Grimmwald. As it is said that only a being known as the Fairy Summoner can summon beings from Grimmwald, it is unknown how she got her hands on this bird. This bird fires distracting noises to blow opponents away, and can also transform into a 'gun mode' to shoot concentrated sonic bullets.

Her goggles are also imbued with technology, allowing her to identify blind spots and see the unseeable, such as a 360 vision and the invisible. Her goggles may have some sort of magical see-through vision. This does not apply to ghosts, but as a user of magic, she can naturally see them.

She can use spells related to the inventions of early or legendary engineers, the strongest of these includes summoning a the Minotaur's labyrinth, or temporarily summoning the Caucasian Eagle upon opponents. Some of the more basic ones include the 'Wings of Icarus'.

As a civilian, she pulls a Superman as she removes her glasses. She is often seen in a school uniform, indicating that she is schooling.

Short Bio:
Veronica was of the Veronica bloodline, a bloodline of magicians specialising in techno-magic. They believe that their magic is able to advance the world. Born from the forge, they wish for a world where magic and technology can coexist as one, where they would advance each other.

However, Veronica didn't want it to happen, seeing that she believed that if the whole world could use techno-magic, the Veronica family would essentially be powerless. She realised that there was one way to stop this - earn the right to be the heir of the Veronica family.

To do this, Veronica had to prove her worth, and she believed that to do this, she had to defeat the strongest of opponents. With that, she flew to Tokyo, the home of many powerful beings, and the current hideout of her rival - Silence Dogood.

She has come to the city to find her self-proclaimed rival, Silence Dogood of the Dogood family. The Dogoods look over dreams.

PERSONALITY: A true world-class creep, Ryusuke's neurosis is his obsessive nature over others. He 'pesters' people – with said pestering often involving assault with potentially lethal force – just so that they keep their focus and attention on him, and has absolutely no concern for their personal space or livelihood. Utterly petty and vile, Ryusuke is willing to endanger innocent bystanders in his attempts to whore for attention.

But even more than a creep, Ryusuke is also a coward. The prospect of facing the consequences of his actions is just about the only thing that can dissuade Ryusuke from pursuing an obsession.

Ryusuke's power is the ability to enhance items with super-properties. He can enhance his boots, for example, to briefly attain superspeed or kicking strength. After a brief period of use, the enhanced items quickly fall apart, useless.

His most prominent usage currently is enhancing a variety of lighters which he keeps upon his person to the level of flamethrowers, in an attempt to emulate one of his obsessions: the strange vigilante that took him down for the first time (Hien).

APPAREL/ACCESSORIES: Typically adorned in blacks and leathers, preferably with a hood. Has a variety of belts and pouches (and even a fanny pack when he's out creeping) to store the medley of lighters he uses in conjunction with his abilities.

BIOGRAPHY: Ryusuke found himself remarkably lonely during his younger years. Instead of attempting to improve himself as a person, he instead opted to obsessively bother people, which eventually escalated into concerning instances of stalking.

When his powers manifested, this took a disturbing turn. He would hold innocents hostage, threatening to seriously injure them if a particular crush of his choosing didn't give him a kiss. This went on for a long time without comeuppance, until he finally met his match in a strange masked man with white hair and the ability to control fire. Shamed by his defeat, this masked vigilante became his newfound obsession, although time and time again he was fought off.
