It was just another day at the headquarters, truth be told. A heavy sigh escaped the redhead's lips as he heard the debriefing going on before them. Another mission to capture a group of Ghouls- the goal? To gather as many as they could for a new set of quinque. The task would be a relatively easy one at that. All they needed to do was ambush a group of Ghouls- from there it would be simple to hunt them down one by one.
"Is that understood?" The older gentleman asked, eyes peering out at the inhabitants of the meeting room. There were multiple words of agreement to be heard by the various agents filling the room. "Heron, take your team and head over to the location right now." Their superior stated, before dismissing the group of agents here. Hazel colored hues flickered over to the raven haired female beside him, Mizuki. A Ghoul that he had mentored previously up until this point. It was a task that left him hesitant but he accepted the role that had been provided to him. A necessary thing he deemed.
"- Get the spare quinque you used for practice yesterday morning, you're going to need it today. We'll meet near the front entrance of the building. Head over there once you're prepared." Alastor announced, before rising from his seat and turning to the rest of his unit that still remained in the room. "Everyone else suit up and meet me in the front in the next fifteen minutes."
And with that, the redhead soon headed out of the meeting room and continued to walk along the corridor until he reached the area near the weaponry. It didn't surprise him that his own briefcase was missing, given his time with a certain Ghoul investigator. Mizuki always had a tendency to lend a helping hands to others silently.
Alastor wasted little time in suiting up in the standard uniform before making his way to the designated meeting spot- the front of the building. Sweeping his gaze over his teammates, lips were etched in a thin line. "Are we all ready to head out?" He questioned, taking on a more authoritative tone.
---
Mizuki's gaze lingered on the superior before them as she carefully listened to the explanation being given to them. It was a good thing the raven haired female wasn't a rookie any longer. If that was the case now, she would certainly feel jitters at the thought of being on the field again. Fortunately, she had a maximum of two years of experience and her superior, Alastor, to help guide her to the correct path.
At the mention of Alastor's last name, she perked up slightly and become more attentive to the speech. With the dismissal, Mizuki was tempted to rise from her seat until she felt the male's gaze on her- prompting her to turn her attention over to the redhead. "Understood, I'll head over there right away." She replied casually, before following in suit and heading out of the room. Despite playing the facade of the ignorant, she was all too aware of the scornful gazes coming in her direction from other fellow agents.
For the next fifteen minutes, her suit had been switched for the standard black amour suit. Meanwhile, an all too familiar briefcase was located in her possession as well as a second one in her free hand. Given Alastor's general attitude, it seemed better to bring along his weapon considering his occasional lapse of procrastination from time to time.
"Here's your quinque." Mizuki stated, reddish-brown hues flickering over to the red haired male. It wasn't long after that, that more agents in their group began to gather in the front. It was almost time for them to head out on their mission. She had no qualms against fighting Ghouls- this was the reason she spent various time training.
With a quick nod of agreement from her and verbal confirmation from the others, there was little stopping the team from heading out of the base. It was finally time for them to get started and capture their targets of the day. As many as possible.

{ LOCATION: LUX CAFE }
Cerulean hues flickered around the confines of the cafe, peering at the customers who occupied several booths and tables to themselves. It was rather miraculously that Akira was here with the peace loving folk. Then again, he could probably thank the old man upstairs for that. Was it not for his influence.. he wouldn't have been here right now. No- he would have been outside in the streets, fighting against others of his kind.
Releasing a small breath, he turned his attention over to one of the customers as he heard them beckoning for one of the severs. "Ah? Don't worry, I'll handle it."He spoke, dismissing the other waiter. With that quick exchange, he went ahead into the kitchen with the empty glass of tea before returning with a filled glass. "I'm sorry about the wait." He stated, keeping in mind the pleasantries of his job. Smiles and small talk- relatively simple things that he had to do.
Slender digits briefly rose to cover the small yawn escaping his parted lips briefly. Lux cafe wasn't too terribly active today, considering there were only a few customers here and there. A majority of them, based on previous conversations and sightings, were Ghouls themselves. Of course, there were a few humans scattered around the cafe, sipping on various drinks of their choosing.
Akira's thoughts were running rampant once again, almost making the male wander back to his days in the ward. Honestly, he still found it rather shocking that he had joined the ranks of Lux. Perhaps he could actually do some good here and possibly help someone else- like what the manager had done for him?
At the sound of the door opening, Akira snapped out of his thoughts as the small bell rang- signalling the arrival of another individual. Considering the other employees here were occupied, he had went ahead and issued greeting. "- Hello, welcome to Lux."

Perhaps it was the vague memories and constant tidbits of a girl's voice that bothered Makoto frequently. Something that often gave him migraines if he thought too much about the subject. Nevertheless, he ignored the thought as he situated himself against the wooden counter in the small apartment building. Light brown hues briefly peering at the younger Ghoul, Tsuki. A small encounter, sometime after his escape, had initiated their first meeting with one another.
At first, he did feel a bit uncertain about mentoring her but his mind had changed seconds after conversing with her. They both went through similar life experiences, and he couldn't stand to see her suffer. The only option he could see was taking her under his wing while offering guidance and protection to her. "If you're still feeling tired from the training earlier, go ahead and take a break upstairs, alright?" He suggested, concern subtly leaking through in his voice at the given moment.
There was no one here to disturb them from actually relaxing for once, considering a majority of their members were out scouting or on their way back. Of course, he did have to initiate a meeting between the members and himself. Based on the rumors he heard around the ward, the CCG was already planning their next move. If Makoto was remembering correctly, they were after more Ghouls.
The thought was sickening- then again, so was the thought of actually making peace with the CCG and humans. Ideals that a certain group, Lux, wanted to establish. It was a foolish decision in his opinion. There was no way they could coexist together, especially in this manner- not when they were being slaughtered just to be weapons to be used against one another.
"Don't worry, I don't plan on heading out any time soon." He lightly stated, peering over at the brunette for a moment. It was already past four-thirty, almost threatening to be considering evening.
