Saint Sebastian's Psychiatric Care Facility.
The most highly praised asylum in the United States, Saint Sebastian's receives at least two new patients a week from all over the country, hoping to be cured forever of the problems that plague them. The permanent-recovery rate for the patients who enter here is 97%--- astronomically high. The facility has received awards, news coverage, and spots in psychiatric journals. Most of the patients who were interviewed after leaving claimed it was a beautiful place with plenty of therapeutic relaxation and full of highly skilled therapists who knew how to get to the root of their problems better than any other doctors they'd had.
Standing at fifteen stories high and overlooking a quiet part of the upper city, it is also one of the largest asylums in the US. The inside is furnished with modern, almost futuristic, furniture, calming white walls and floors, and many windows to let in sunlight.
The routines of the patients are suited to their individual needs, and patients claim that they never felt threatened or coerced by the staff, rather, they claim the staff were always calm and friendly.
But not everyone shares the same opinion about the facility. There are a few patients who have been documented saying that the facility turned into a nightmare world for them, that the staff are evil and that the recovery rate is only so high because the patients are brainwashed. Delusional ramblings of the most psychotic patients? Or is there some truth to all this?
Your characters are going to find out in due time.

Basic Concept
I will only accept 2-6 characters for this, I don't want it to be too full. After the apps close (date undecided), that will be it.
The basic concept is that a handful of new patients have arrived to Saint Sebastian's on the same day, and they are able to be put into the same hall in their individual rooms. From there? Well, that's for you to find out. This is meant to be a mystery, so things will be introduced as they come along.
This is also meant to be realistic despite it's other genres. Please only characters with realistic mental conditions, maybe even do some research into mental conditions if you are unsure. Please no murdering characters unless they only have problems with -thinking- about killing/hurting others.
It's okay if you are brief on your character sheets so long as your posts let your character shine through.

Personality: She's a very shy person and tries to stay alone on the outside of things as much as possible. If approached, she'll be friendly but won't say a whole lot. She believes people are inherently good and refrains from judging others until she's calculated their personality and examined their actions.
Disorders/Affliction: Clinical Depression, Schizophrenia, Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder
Reason For Being Here: Because this is the third time she's attempted suicide because of hallucinations in two months, it was decided that she could not be trusted to be safe on her own, though she pleaded otherwise.
Brief History: Allegra was raised by her alcoholic mother in an apartment in a small town. Her childhood was spent being abused by the men who visited her mother so frequently. At age ten, she was separated from her mother and placed into foster care where her life improved significantly. However, the scars of her past left her afflicted with delusional ideas and hallucinations, as well as a downcast attitude and poor self esteem.

Personality: Tyler keeps his distance from most everything but himself. He sees no reason why he should need to make friends, after all, all you need in this world is yourself to survive. His narcissism is supreme- he believes that unless someone is better than him in every way, they're not worth his time. He harbors grudges instantly but does nothing about his grudges unless pushed. He feels no connection to others and hates most all human contact, dememing it a nessesscary evil.

Reason For Being Here: Ty has been in a bit of a slum recently. About a day ago, he noticed he kept having continual suicidal thoughts of throwing himself out his window. This wasn't like him and he knew it. He would never do such a thing. So he checked himself in without a second thought, in hopes of uprooting these fantasies that mar his otherwise 'flawless' self.
Brief History: Tyler was homeschooled by his grandparents following the death of his father in a drunk driving incident. From the offset, he spent 90% of the time alone with his thoughts and studies. His grandparents made no real effort to connect him with other children his age, and eventually he began to believe that he was homeschooled because he was more intelligent than the other children. As he grew older and still remained alone most of his time, it escalated into him believing he was isolated because he was generally more special than other kids and they weren't worth his attention. After he finished high school, he went out on his own to obtain a degree in computer engineering, which he used to land a steady job as a computer retailer.
Meifeng Liu
Name: Meifeng Liu
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Personality: Meifeng - Generally dapper, she enjoys laughing and having a good time. She's very sweet and hates hurting anyone's feelings. Sometimes she can be a bit silly or awkward. She is the host.
Rabbit - This alter is a small child, about seven. She's very quiet, and becomes scared of the smallest noises or gestures. She prefers hiding to taking action.
Tiger - This alter is very forward. She is a bit too flirtatious, but is also brave, rushing headfirst into her problems and doing whatever needs to be done to accomplish a task.
Daiyu - This alter is hostile to most everyone, but especially to Meifeng (herself.) She does whatever she can to hurt her, writing abusive things on papers that Meifeng will read, even physically hurting herself. She hates Meifeng and claims she deserves to be punished.
Disorders/Affliction: Dissociative Identity Disorder
Reason For Being Here: Meifeng's family was concerned for her wellbeing and had her committed. Her alter personality, Daiyu, was becoming increasingly violent- cutting open her wrists in an effort to kill Meifeng and spewing hatred towards her, even struggling against the medics and trying to escape the hospital.
Brief History: Meifeng was born in China. At age six she was kidnapped and sold to an underground slaving organization who intended to train her to become a prostitute and model. The memories are violent, grotesque, horrific enough to be repressed...to the point she barely remembers anything about that time in her life. Eventually she managed to escape and entered into an orphanage, where her strange personality quirks kept her from making many friends. Her parents seemed to drop off the face of the planet at that point, and could not be contacted. By sheer luck, Meifeng entered a foriegn adoption program at age 13 and was adopted by an American family in Atlanta. She was very happy to be here, but her new parents found themselves saddled with the burden of her Dissociative Identity Disorder, a condition in which she has several different personalities. Each is aware of the other, but she cannot control when she switches personalities nor can she remember what she does while under the influence of another personality.

Personality: She is quiet some days and loud most. She loves to talk to people and make friends, but has a hard time maintaining the relationship due to her BPD. Can be a flirt sometimes. She is not afraid to say what is on her mind and she doesn't take criticism well (she has problems with self-hate from time to time).
Disorders/Affliction: Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Reason For Being Here: Her behavior was getting out of control. She was always depressed or angry or both and would lash out at her co-workers and family for odd reasons. She was drunk a lot and was involved with various men. But what definitely put the nail in the coffin was when she hit and almost killed a woman with her car.
Brief History: Trinity comes from a dysfunctional family. Her parents had never really gotten along, but they didn't divorce until she was 13. She was a B and C student in school and didn't have friends for very long as a child. The signs of BPD started showing then and got worse as she got older. At first her parents paid it all no attention, but when she tried to kill herself after they told her about getting a divorce, they had her hospitalized for the first time. Things were always good and bad after that.

Age: 20
Personality: A romantic lesbian with a soft spot for straight girls Spenny loved to spend her time out with friends drinking and having fun. A loudmouth with a tendency to push things a bit too far she often found herself on the wrong end of the law. Always flirting Spenny has also found herself in quite a few fights with men whose girlfriends she had gotten a little too cozy with. All in all a tough cookie with a few soft chocolate chips sprinkled through out.
Disorders/Affliction: Diagnosed sociopath. Struggles with incredibly violent and suicidal thoughts.
Reason For Being Here: Dropping out of college after just a month at the age of 18 really put a strain on Spenny's family life. Her mother stopped talking to her, and her father blamed her entirely for her mother's sudden bout of depression and unbreakable silence. With a mute mom and a vengeful father Spenny sought comfort in her friends and substances. Though she never got into any heavy drugs she was drunk more often than not and always stoned when she wasn't drunk. After a few run ins with the law for some fights she was sent to therapy. She was diagnosed as a sociopath, but because she wasn't holding down any real work her parents decided not to allow her to stay with them. This meant she surely couldn't afford her therapist. Soon after moving in with some friends Spenny met face to face with a jury of her peers on an assault with a deadly weapons charge. Apparently smashing a man in the face with a broken bottle wasn't all cool with them and she managed to wriggle out of jail time by pleading insanity. Her lawyer milked her sociopathic state for all he could and they tossed her to the institute to be corrected. Unknown to everyone around her Spenny had far worse demons slithering around inside of her. Countless times during sexual encounters Spenny would hold a girl's throat a little to hard for a little too long or would bite down on a thigh or neck just a little too forcefully. She always bashfully apologized and the girl she was with shrugged it off, but it was much more sinister than anyone could imagine. As much as Spenny loved women she held a silent resentment and hatred for them and how they made her feel. Her father's use of homophobic slurs as nicknames for her were probably a strong force behind her thoughts of violence and suicide, at least she hoped it was his fault.
