6.00 am and young Valentine van Arensdonk was already outside. He loved having his morning job and this was the best time to do so. The air was cold, his breathing showing up in little clouds, but it was good for the muscles and meant there was more oxygen in the air. However most importantly, there were no stupid bark machines on the road yet. More than once had he been chased down the road by a dog and the owner only laughing because it was 'innocent' and 'just wanted to play'. He hated those creatures. Besides he ran to keep up his stamina and an even rhythm and speed, not to become good at hurdles or sprints. He was a marathon runner after all. The whole route was only half an hour though, he had done the big round yesterday. He went up to his room and under the shower to get ready for the day.

A rather special day. The first day of school. It was a bit past seven by the time Valentine was downstairs again. He looked up when the door was unlocked and his father just came home from his night shift. "Good morning, dad," he greeted the male. His father looking up and giving him a greeting back, before going straight up to the bedroom. Probably to catch a few hours with his mom, who had an afternoon shift. His parents hours were never regular. They had never been and would never be. The perks of working for the hospital probably. It had been like that for as long as he could remember, but luckily his parents finally deemed him old enough to be indepent. Sure, they still had a maid for cleaning, but no longer a babysitter or nanny for him.

His phone made some sound and he got up. Bus and then... school. First day. First day of his last year. He did like the educational part of school actually, what he disliked about it was the social part. How people were forced to work in groups and all that. All it had taught him was to never trust his fellow students. And then there was this special card thing. Politics was an interesting subject, but he doubted this was the best way to execute it. Not that he had much of a say in it. He wasn't planning on participating in the whole craze anyway. He grabbed his schoolbag, which was rather empty. After all they'd get their books today at school after the whole introduction stuff. That meant it was an easy walk to the busstop at the end of the street he lived on. A bit out of the city in a rather large house, as expected with the income of his parents.

Valentine had taken a bus later that usually. The whole welcoming thing would start at 9, unlike the usual first classes at 8.30. Also they were the only people that already had to be at school. The rest of the school would start tomorrow. This day was solely to determine the cards and positions. He looked a bit around when he walked up onto the schoolyard. There were the usual smokers and stoners, that he avoided. The goths and emos and what all, the popular kids, the team players. He did not have many friends, nor did he mind that. Honestly the closest he got to having friends was running side by side for two hours with Solar. That was her name, right? He wasn't even sure about that. Online however he had a lot of friends. Friends he spoke to daily, mostly fellow gamers and teammates from League of Legends. He honestly felt a lot more comfortable with those people than speaking face to face with someone. So yes, he was a kind of the loner nerd at school.

He made his way towards the big cafetaria. A small stage had been set up and all the chairs were standing in long rows on one side of the room. There were already quite some people there. No surprise, since everyone was suppose to be here in ten minutes. He took a seat randomly, only to be hushed away by some girl, because it was obviously her friends seat. He rolled his eyes and simply moved on few more seats. More and more seats were filled and finally mister Bies, who was both a biology teacher and their principal, got onto stage. The older male was interrupted quite some times with people being late, but finally he could do his story.

"Welcome students. This will be a very important, a very exciting and a very anxious year. It will be the end of your life here, after six and for some more, years and the start of something different, something new. Most of you will go to university, and no matter what your plans are after finishing. This year will mean a lot of changes for all of you and a step closer to adulthood," he spoke as he looked in randomly directions. "However to make the last year something truly special, this will be the year of Spades! I am sure you have all heard off it before and experienced it from the higher classes, but now you will be the rulers of this school. If you find the right cards," he added a bit of an evil chuckle, "I will go over the rules very quickly. In case you lost the written instructions that were send or the many messages and files we have on Blackboard. So all cards are hidden somewhere in the schoolbuilding. You are free to roam around as much as you want. if you find a card you can choose whether or not to keep it. If you want to keep the card you take it to one of the teachers. We will partroll through the hallways. If you do not want a card, you put it back and continue your hunt. With every found and kept card we will make the buzzer go off so you know how many are available. The higher the card, the better, but don't underestimate the special card like the Ace of Spades and the jokers. That is all, have fun."

And suddenly there was chaos. People standing up, running around, or simply talking and catching up with friends. Valentine moved up as well. He went straight to the library. If he found a card so be it, if not that was find as well. He wasn't gonna actively search for them. There was a new LCS season and he wasn't interesting in missing the first games. It were only the qualification games, so it was not super important, but definitely more interesting than searching some stupid cards. He dropped his back next to the chair as he sat down, he bend down to put on the computer and sat back up. He picked up the keyboard to pull it closer as he noticed something stuck underneath it. He blinked a bit as he picked up the paper, or better said play card. Well then... "Ironical," he mumbled to himself as he turned the card around. Now that he was holding one, he was rather curious how much luck he apparently had.

Well, that was one way to spend the list night of holiday… Bleary eyes cracked open as Rosaline stirred awake. Checking around the room, she had no clue whose house she was in, barely even recognizing the sleeping body next to her. Two… She turned to her other side, noticing the other woman in the bed. A smirk played at her lips; oh how she'd have fun hearing all about this in the afternoon. Truth be told, she had no clue what happened last night; but a faint guess ran across her mind as she slid her way from the bed, knocking around the various empty bottles and packets that littered the area.

She was quick to gather her clothing from the floor, stealing a towel and hopping in the guy's shower, hoping she could was away at least some of the stench of bodies, booze and cannabis. Already aware that she was late on the first day of the year, Rose took her sweet time cleaning off, eventually stepping out and throwing on her clothes. Her phone buzzed, probably her father ensuring she'd made it to school on time. Checking only confirmed it. Of course, everything's alright, got to go xx. Tapping out a quick reply, she made her way from the house, careful to not awaken the two sleepers. At least she wasn't that late.

It wasn't until half nine that she actually got to the school, stopping at the corner shop on the way for her typical breakfast and cigs. She could already see the groups leaving the opening ceremony, undoubtedly about the stupid card thing. Well, she said stupid, but being able to rule the school did sound pretty fun. Maybe she'd get lucky. Regardless, she wound up in her typical spot, sat in the smokers area as the usuals greeted her, fishing for their money as she pulled the goods from her bag, handing it out between them.

"The good stuff, as per usual." A chuckle left her lips, lighting up a spliff as she finished stuffing the cash in her purse. There was one way to stay on top of her financial situation, and there were no protests coming from her about the dangers. This year was gonna be fun; something in her gut told her. The weather was nice, and the drags of spliff left her feeling elated, ready for anything.

As she ashed the joint before passing it on, she heard some footsteps approaching. Taking a moment to look up, she noticed Adam, another of the local stoners. "So, how can I help ya?" She chuckled, passing ashtray and spliff away to the next user. "Hey Rose, I'm looking for some of the usual." He spoke, taking the joint from the recipient from Rose, and taking a nice long drag. "However, I'm short on cash." She could see the look in his eyes; there was something else to this. "But, I did find this in the canteen." As he handed her something, a smirk grew on her lips. Slowly, she turned the playing card over. Well, this could be interesting. She'd have to find out what this one meant; but if it was good, it could definitely act as payment.

Solar had risen long before the sun had a chance to peek over the distant horizon. Her early morning routine was one that would tire most people back into bed. Every morning she simply had to stretch and run to a nearby park to greet the sun and thank it for it's daily hugs. After running around to wake herself up some more, she then rushed back home to get ready. A shower after a work out was a must, Solar loved the refreshed feeling that came with it. When she finished up, she dressed in a random outfit she pulled out of the drawer and applied some natural looking makeup, preferring to feel comfortable than to over dress. At the end of the day, it was just a normal school day.

After she finished getting ready to go out, she made breakfast for her parents and snagged a granola bar before heading out. "I'm heading out, love you~!!!" Solar called out to her drowsy parents who had yet to start the day as she practically skipped out the door, locking it behind her out of habit. With a near empty bag on her back and her phone buzzing with notifications in the other, she looked through her messages as she walked to school.

Although she could have taken the bus, school was only two miles away and started pretty late today due to the card selection event the seniors were participating in. Looking through a couple group chats, it seemed that many had long anticipated this final year event, everyone hoping to find the royal spades cards. Personally, Solar didn't care too much since her grades weren't anything special and she doubted that the rules would be anything crazy or hard to follow, but she would be lying if she said she was comfortable being at the mercy of another. Although she was pretty friendly with everyone, it wasn't as if no one took her friendliness the wrong way. A high ranking card was definitely tempting. "I'll just have to try my best."

It didn't take too long. She soon saw the asymmetrical building that she'd made so many memories in and took a deep breath, recollecting her thoughts. Prepared to make more memories, she arrived fairly early to the assembly and got a front row seat at a table with people she was well acquainted with, most members of the track team or other sports groups. After some time giving out free hugs and talking about everything yet nothing at all, the principal finally came up onto the stage and gave the announcement, much of it being stuff they had already known.

Before the principal could finish the last sentence, Solar hopped to her feet and sped towards the gym, as a spectator of many games, she was most familiar with this location. It didn't take long for her to come across a card placed into the net of one of the basketball hoops. She could only praise the person with the skill to place it in such a place. Unable to tell what it was, she could only jump to reach for it. It took her two tries but she finally grabbed it. Flipping it over, her eyes widened as she recognized it's contents...

The cold water felt like a nice slap to the face but it did wonders in clearing out the last stubborn clouds of sleep from Max's head. Dragging his digits down his face, Max groaned, snatching up a towel to catch the dribbles of water that cascaded down his jaw while he glanced in the mirror. Hazel eyes gazed back at him from the reflection, drawn to the slight circles collecting beneath the bottom row of lashes, evidence of another restless night of sleep. That's the last time Max drinks coffee before bed, at least it had been a good one. What was it again? Caramel Turtle or some shit?

A lazy smirk curled the corner of his lips as Max dragged a hand through his stark pink hair, combing ruffled locks of hair into a more presentable fashion. Maximilian took a step back, appraising his imagine with admiration, especially pleased with his shirt. "Perfect as always." He chuckled, shuffling out the bathroom towards the kitchen. His mother had her back to him, stirring a pan of eggs. The smell was inviting, encouraging Max to actually snatch a small plate this time instead of heading out like he usual did. It wasn't every day that his mom could make breakfast, she was probably trying to make his first day of school more exciting. "Morning Mom." He hummed warmly, snatching the pan of bacon off the stove before they could burn. They had shriveled up, sporting dark colors and promising a nice crunching bit. Fortunately Max liked his bacon killed.

Susanna glanced up from her work, offering her son a grateful smile and a peck on his cheek. "Oh Max, sorry," She began, turning off the stove top, "I forgot at add butter to the eggs and they just kept sticking," She grumbled, pushing some of the yellow fluffy protein onto his plate. "Its okay mom, its still good," Max assured her, taking a sit at the table. He scooped some onto his fork and stuffed his mouth full, taking a moment to enjoy the moment. Susanna settled across from him worried look passing when Max plucked a couple of strips and crunched on them happily. "You excited?"

Crunch. "Sure." Max replied, glancing up from his plate to give his mom a raised brow, grinning. "Mom, it's not kindergarten anymore, nothing special." Susanna just smiled back, leaning her cheek against her hand. "Time flies doesn't it," She hummed, gazing proudly at her son. It seemed like only yesterday that she was walking him to school, watching those hazel eyes of his sparkle with excitement. Max smiled back, "Except when you're in class." The won him a round of laughter from his mother, bringing a genuine smile to his lips as he rose and placed his dish in the washer. Susanna rose to see him off, wrapping her arms around his shoulders for a squeeze. "Oh it isn't that bad Max." She cooed, "Have a good day."

"You too mom."

-------

It didn't take too long to walk to school, in fact, Max made it by just a minute. Navigating the halls, Max strolled into the cafeteria, picking out a seat in the back. The lull of voices carried for a few more minutes before the big man himself hopped up on stage, barely drawing Max's interest. The guy could be such a douche bag, so Max almost missed what Mr. Bies had to say. Hazel eyes darting up, Max froze, brows raised curiously while he processed the principle's speech. A smirk crawled its way up his face once more, the challenge managing to spark a shred of interest in Max's mundane school life. "Ooh, sounds fun." He purred, standing up from his seat. Tucking his hands into his jacket, Max dodged a few frantic students and slipped from the cafeteria. The entire school was up in chaos, students tripping over themselves, shouting, and even a few posing to fight.

The scene was incredibly refreshing compared to the usual dull school mornings. Max paused by library door, admiring the way the poor librarian ran about like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to stop students from destroying his beautiful books. Pages were flying everywhere, books piled up under each shelf. Hell, people were even checking inside some books too, the sound of pages ripping actually made Max wince a bit. Poor trees. Side stepping the mayhem, Max strolled along the walls, looking at random locations throughout the room. Hiding places didn't always have to be so complicated, sometimes the best spots were the ones in direct line of sight. The pinked haired youth paused by a computer, wondering if the staff had thought to hide a card or two behind some of the pictures on the wall when something caught his eye. The computer was crooked, leaning slightly to the right. Eyes dropping to the base, Max noticed something wedged underneath the stand and grinned. Bingo.

He carefully leaned the computer away, sliding out the sneaky card, turning it over.

The card turned out to be the nine of Spades. Thinking it over, she popped a stick of gum into her mouth and began chewing, finding that it helped a little when it came to making decisions or thinking in general. The Nine of Spades was a pretty good card but not quite high enough to protect herself from the Royals. In case she changed her mind later on, she hid it under the bleachers, securing it to the underside with the wad of gum she had just finished chewing up. Satisfied with the results, Solar rushed off to the next area.

She entered the library and decided to search through the books the other students had yet to search through. It seemed that most targeted thick books since they provided more room to work with. Since those books were taken, she rushed over to the comic section. While others flipped through those lengthy books page by page, Solar carelessly held them upside down and flipped through the pages the way one would flip through a flip book. Needless to say, she got through a majority of comics fairly quickly. For someone who hadn't touched an actual book in months, it could be considered an accomplishment.

As she approached the last comic, she held her breath and hoped something would fall out. Her luck was on a roll today. When she was about halfway through, a card slipped out and fell facedown on the carpeted floor. Bending down, she flipped it over to find...

Cognac colored eyes stared at the card that was turned between his nimble fingers. They slid over the little picture that was on it and the word written beside it. Out of all cards, Valentine had never expected one like this to fall upon him. It was not a royal card, but oh, this card held much more power if played in the right way. Depending on how much friends the Royalty had. He knew that he did not have many friends, but if people know he had this card... That would change quickly. He swallowed. It also ment he couldn't trust anyone and that he had full immunity to anything the Royalty might decide. And that, that was something that was most important to him. He took another deep breath to calm his pounding heart and his trembling hand. He had to play this cool as he grabbed his bag again. Everyone around him seemed to be to busy searching for their own cards anyway, so who was gonna pay attention to him?

Valentine slipped the card into his phone case as he grabbed his bag again. No League Championships for him, it was way too loud in the library anyway today. He almost bumped into that guy with the pink hair, who apparently had found a card as well. "Ah... lucky you," he mumbled as he quickly side stepped to avoid an actual collide. What was his name again? Maximillian or something. He actually liked those old unusual names everyone always made fun of. Yet now, he had absolutely no time to stay around. Luckily he was not a social guy, so no one would probably care, or even notice. They were all to busy with their own cards. Some people reacting euphoric, others disappointed. It was near the science class that he got hold of mister de Groot. "Sir!" he called out and quickly went up to the teacher.

The male looked at him with a stern expression and then took the card he held out. He looked at it and back at Valentine with those unsettling piercing eyes. He was a very good teacher though, one of his favourites.
"Are you sure you want to keep this card?" he asked softly.

Of course! Why else would he bring it up all the way here. He gave a quick nod. "I want to stay anonymous though," he quickly added. There was always this big ceremony at the end of the cards search. The teacher gave a nod in return.
"That is very smart, but what else to expect from you?" mister de Groot said and even smiled. He picked up the walkie talkie. "The Joker has been found," he announced and handed Valentine his card back, "keep it save. You will need it."
Valentine quickly put the card away near his phone. That was the one thing he'd never forget or lose. The sound of the buzzer filled the school for a second, indicating that another card was found and kept. Valentine glanced around. What now? He could not afford to catch any attention so early on. Return to the library to watch the games after all, or keep on searching to see if he could find anything more interesting? Not that he could switch cards, but maybe he could help... Then again if he found a good card how was he gonna explain giving it away?

Still he pushed the door to the science room open. It seemed like someone, or several people, had already went through it. It was really a miracle nothing seemed to be broken. Sure the books in the library seemed to be destroyed, but he assumed the shcool had been smart and had replaced their usual collection with old and useless books. He wandered a bit around to see if there were andy areas that had been left untouched. He went to the back of the class were all the boring equipment stood and carefully started to moved stuff around. It would be almost unthinkable the teacher wouldn't have hidden something here...

The infinity shape of the number eight stared back at Max, looking particularly appealing but not exactly exciting. Then again, Max didn't really care if he got a card or not, let alone a good one. The pink haired male couldn't help but chuckle though, amused to see his luck still kicking. What were the odds of finding a card in a room full of panicking peers? Pretty low, though sudden movement to Max's left suddenly made him guess that the odds were about to get much smaller. While Max admired the card, he felt someone walk by, hearing his inner thoughts made aloud. Glancing up, Max managed to catch the back of the individual who had congratulated him, noticing the way he walked out of the room without another glance. Interesting, did the other student find a card as well? His shoulders did look a bit stiff...

Unfortunately, rapidly approaching foot steps prevented Max from studying him further. While Max had been distracted, another male student just a few inches taller than Max had spotted the card in the pinkhead's hand. Dark eyes transfixed, rather than trying to hid his own he decided to try and take Max's card. Instead of taking a defensive stance—or even putting the card away—Max glanced at his peer from the corner of his eyes, unimpressed by the show of aggressive in the other's stance. "Can I help you?" Max hummed, blinking slowly. The male student narrowed his eyes, gesturing to the card in Max's hand. "Yeah, you can hand over the card. I got here first Pinky." A smirk split the cool mask of Max's face, yielding a dry laugh. Putting on an exaggerated look of confusion, Max leaned towards a girl who had been shuffling around the paper stakes by the printer. "Excuse me, but this is the high school, is it not?" His female peer gave Max a concerned, confounded glance. "Um, yes... it is...," She replied quietly, eyes shifting to the other male, confusion giving way to nervous angst.

Max, on the other hand, sighed dramatically, "Oh good, for a second there I thought I was back in second grade." His innocently naive expression turned dark and mischievous as he returned his gaze to the male student, "Well, at least one of us is." The opposing boy bristled, drawing himself up to his full height, face turning a satisfying shade of red. "Fucking jackass!" He jabbed his hand out to try and snatch the card away from Max, but the pink haired youth just side stepped the attack and put the desk between them. "Say please big guy, then I might just reconsider." Max cooed, dancing around between the rows of computers with a gleeful grin.

The other male began to spew a string of curses, making several more attempts to grab Max only to fail horribly. In one last ditch effort to grab himself a card, the student lunged across an open table, arms spread to try and trap Max between them. Sadly all the student caught was a face full of trash as he landed head first into a bin, landing with out loud thud on the other side. Max stepped over the dazed classmate, whistling a casual tune as he made his way to the door, winking at printer girl on his way out. "Better luck next time bud!" He called over his shoulder, door clicking shut a second later. Pleased with the little bit of entertainment he had managed to stir up, Max decided to try a different room for a card have left his 8 card behind, conveniently stashed in Printer girl's back pocket. His feet naturally took him through the winding halls to the art room. Sliding through the door way, Max noticed that this room was, more or less, unlooted. Only a few students lurked here, promising a better chance of getting himself a card.

Taking a chance, Max picked a corner that wasn't occupied and opened a cabinet, sliding jars of paint brushes and color trays around. As his hand swept along the back wall his finger tips touched the tall tale sign of something thin and flat. Brow arching, Max caught the edge, sliding the paper to the edge until he freed it from the shelf. Just as he thought, another card. Thoroughly amused, Max flipped it over, curious to see what he found this time.

"Hey Karen, I think you have just got a fax." He shouted to his caretaker who was up in her bedroom preparing for the day. "Thanks Josiah, just set it on the counter and good luck at school today." Yeah it was the first day of his senior year, the year where he would find out if he placed in the colleges he had hoped too. He smiled to himself, making his way from the living room to the kitchen and he looked through the fridge to make sure his orange juice was there. He didn't eat breakfast usually, just a nice cup of orange juice and he was out the door and this day wasn't in anyways different. Grabbing the jug of OJ he went and looked for a glass cup, so clean that he could see his reflection in the shine. A wave of sadness rushed over him. It wasn't that he was ever ashamed about how he looked, just seeing the reflection of himself reminded him that he was who he was. It didn't just magically change like he wished every day of every second.

He had been staring at this reflection right until Karen walked in, "Josiah, you're usually gone by now, any reason you're still here?" Josiah shook his head returning back to earth. "Huh? Sorry Karen, just been thinking about a lot lately." He said finally pouring his cup of OJ. "First day of being a man huh? Your mom would be do proud to see the man you've become. " He could tell that she was staring at him but he avoided her gaze so that she wouldn't catch on to his feelings. "Thank you Karen, but I have to run." He said before downing the whole cup of OJ and grabbing his grey backpack as he headed out the door. "Have a nice day Josiah and stay safe!" She shouted out to him as he made his way on his path. "I always do." He shouted back knowing that we totally told a lie, but it was better to lie than be honest. He already had to go to his therapist 5 times a week. Why cause more of a strain on their life? Especially when she took him in so easily.

. . .

It wasn't long after that Josiah found himself at school, early as usual. Better to be early than late he always felt and apparently he wasn't the only one, his friend Jonathan had only arrived a few minutes later after him and quickly made his way to him. "Jos, it's the big day man! We're finally in the home stretch of this godforsaken bullshit! " He shouted at him as Josiah quietly listened and made his way into the school. "Yeah yeah, we still have a full year left guy. Still a year of playing fucking limbo with all these stuck up assholes." Jonathan didn't let Josiah's crabby attitude affect him, he was use to it by now and he quickly followed it up with more energy. "Yeah I know but think of it this way…one year from now, you'll be swimming in that American ass and I'll be wingmanning with you in Harvard, life is about to be good, dude!" This made Josiah not only crack a smile, but laugh and laugh a hearty laugh. "You're too funny man. Come on let's go get seats for the group man. We gotta make sure it's in the backish, I don't want to get caught sleeping. "

. . .

Finally, the speech was over and he like usual split off from his group, not because he disliked his friends, he just figured if he was going to find the card it would be much harder around seven other people. "Where oh where can you be card?" He whispered to himself as lazed around the hall. People rushing pass him frantically trying to find it. He looked at all their faces and smiled, they all seemed to be so wrapped up in it that they didn't realize how stupid they looked. "Dumbasses." He whispered again, walking past the library and then he thought. "Why not check the Cafeteria?" It didn't take him long to turn around and reach the cafe and looking around the tiny stage and cafe that was empty besides the cooking staff he noticed something odd, right in front of the little stage on the floor there was something that wasn't matching the tiles. This had to be it and making his way over to it, it was just as he predicted, a card face down, now all he had to do was hope that it was a good card. So he picked it up and began to flip it over.

Solar flipped the card to find...

The Ace of Spades!

She was frozen for quite some time, staring at the card as if trying to comprehend the meaning to life itself. How was her luck so good? Could it be that all of those early mornings greeting the sun paid off?

With the goddess of fortune shining down upon her, Solar was elated. She whisked up the card into her hands and hopped to her feet, giving it a little peck. There was no way she'd find a better card than this one. Just as she was at the peak of happiness, she noticed movement on her left.
Pivoting on her heel, she turned away from a tall, broad-shouldered male who had been slowly reaching for her card. Holding it over her head defiantly as if he couldn't simply reach out and pluck it from her hands, she sent him a puzzled look, her mind not keeping up with the obvious situation she had placed herself in.

"What are you doing?" Solar questioned the student yet a quick glance to the others in the room instantly gave away the answer. The few in the library all had their eyes glued on her card like a bunch of greedy vultures. The smart ones that didn't move to take it from her, were already slowly making their way to the door, prepared to block her exit.

Unwilling to waste even a moment, she quickly dashed past any grabby hands and out of the library. The vultures were hot on her tail. With no escape in sight, she turned a few corners until they were far enough away to choose a room to hide into. Having to choose between the art room or the bathrooms, she rushed into the boys room, closing the door behind her just as the group of students passed by. It was only after making sure she was alone in the boys restroom that she let out a sigh of relief. She would never allow her early mornings of praising the sun for blessings to go to waste.

Having no option but to bide her time for a few minutes so that she wouldnt run into those vultures, Solar looked into the bathroom mirror and huffed in annoyance. "Seriously. Did they have to touch my hair?" Although she was fast, it wasnt as if she was invincible. Her hair was bound to be grabbed but at least her clothing wasn't torn. As much as she wanted to find a teacher to turn it in to, Solar was still worried about whether or not anyone would be outside waiting for her. So she decided to wait for a little longer, using her spare time to brush out her soft brown locks and put it up into a high messy bun. Satisfied, she walked over to the door and hid on the side that would be blocked from view if someone were to open it, planning to sneak away when given the chance.

"I'm absolutely brilliant it seems." He said with a satisfied grin on his face. He got the joker card, it wasn't the ace, but it was something that was absolutely perfect for him. "Now to hide it before some idiots try and take it away. " He tucked it in his front pocket walking out of the cafeteria as casually as possible. His eyes still showing a great disdain for many of the students that crossed his path. If anyone if them tried to do a single thing or take his card he wouldn't hesitate to use violence. But before he knew it he was already at his economics teachers room.

"Mr. Wietmarschen, I want to turn in my card. I feel like it's the perfect card for me." He smiled sort of beaming at his teacher. Josiah didn't often get along with his classmates, but his teachers were another thing entirely. It wasn't hard for them to get along, Josiah was engaged in class, always seemed to do his homework and in general acted as the perfect student. It was just easier for him to get along with them because it was that easy. "This is great Mr.Clark! Are you going to keep it private? Of course you're going to keep it private." He went to his desk to pick up the walkie only for him to be interrupted by someone else speaking. "The Joker has been found," played over the speaker and Josiah heard it clear as days. For a second his smile faded, only to be replaced by a quick smirk. "Actually Mr.Wietmarschen, I would like to announce that I have it. I like to Be in the limelight a little, I can't deny." Mr.Wietmarschen raised an eyebrow, trying to understand what Josiah was doing, after all, the smarter thing to do was to hide, but to Josiah he wasn't going to hide. He would fear none of these rich assholes and the card would help to prove that. "What are you up to Mr.Clark?" He asked generally curious on what it could be. "I'm just a little prideful Sir." With that he waved at his teacher. "Now I gotta go to the bathroom. I kind of absentmindedly left home without using it."

"Of course Mr.Clark and be careful, as I always say, power makes people crazy!" He shouted at the door as Josiah walked away, turning back to announce on the walkie what just happened. "Mr. Josiah Clark has found the second Joker."

It wasn't much longer til Josiah found himself walking behind a group of people apparently chasing someone. People take this way too seriously. He thought as he made his way behind them making sure not to draw their attention. He already made it official that he would be the joker, but it wouldn't stop a crowd full of desperate people attacking him for the simple fact that they could feel like he was lying. Soon they took a turn one way and Josiah took a turn another way, straight into the boys bathroom. Stopping by the urinal he started peeing and thinking to himself out loud. "Only one more year left. One more year and I'll finally be able to relax a little."
