Ash had followed him dutifully as they approached the manor. The child that screamed peaked her attention, their detail of clothing was remarkable. She knew from the body in his basement that Matt was a vampire. She knew of the stories about them claiming children into their ranks. Sirens were known to grant wishes to those they viewed fit with them, but never had they claimed children; they were just to fragile. She stayed relatively close to Matt and when a man called her a fish she hissed angrily her sharp teeth baring themselves once more. She felt insulted and like she should be defensive right now. Her feral side was closer to the surface should she need to defend herself. Matt's voice broke her away from what she was currently thinking and she quickly caught up with him. "Sorry," She apologized before following him closely again.

The stairs descended into a musty, damp, dark hallway that stretched far down both left and right. Matthew took a left. "It's fine." He told Ashera. He didn't mind her lagging for a moment, but losing him the house was for sure the worst thing she could do. "Try not to insult my family too much, so no more hissing. There is certain things I can't prevent from happening, babe." He added as he walked past a small, creepy, child staring at the town of them. "Hello, Chester." Matthew said to the small boy. The boys grin was sinister and quite frightening to some. "Hello, Uncle." He said before vanishing in a flash. Matthew shook his head. Chester was Matthew's dead sister's kid, he was among the few kids here that would actually grow till the age ripe age of twenty one. Matthew on the other hand, would appear old but still have the health of a twenty one year old as the years went by.

Reaching the back of the hall, Matthew reached up and pulled a brick out, the wall then collapsed before him. Stepping over the rubble he held out his hand for Ashera to take. He wasn't try to help her over the rubble, but the council would need to see that he was claiming her or else she would be wiped out in a matter of seconds once in the chamber. Inside the small hallway, behind the brick wall, was a small bowl. Letting his fangs show, which was the first time Ashera actually saw him that way, he bit into his wrist and held it out above the bowl. His blood flowed into it. A minute later, a door opened and Matthew step through to reveal a large room with the council awaiting inside. "Well this looks fun." He spoke sarcastically. "Ashera, meet the council." He said, still holding her hand. "Take a seat, love." pointing to a open chair at the opposite end of the room.

Kara, the families first vampire stood from her seat on a couch. "Matthew Santos, how dare you bring another here!" She scolded him for his disobedience. "Sorry Grams, but had to. Ran into a bit of a snag and she doesn't walk away...she's just as stubborn as you." He told Kara. Matthew sighed. "What are you talking about?" She asked him. Matthew chuckled and hopped up onto the pool table. "I'm talking about black out while in the middle of having sex and waking up to a dead girl next to me." He said out loud. Sure Ashera knew that Matthew killed Kristen, but she didn't know was he wasn't really 'there' for any of it.
