IN CHARACTER THREAD (IC)
Welcome to The Walking Dead: Culling - Season 1
This roleplay will take place in an alternative Walking Dead universe, where Created Characters will battle it out for survival. This roleplay is meant to be very dramatic and full of realism - some of the key factors that make The Walking Dead Television Series one of the best long-lasting shows in the world. Similar to the series, you can expect horror and character deaths - aspects that I hope you are open to and understand. There will be a main plot, one that hopefully strives and pushes the story forward into numerous seasons. Without further adieu, let's get into some crucial information.

CHARACTER INDEX
—
Time and Location
Our characters will find ourselves in Houston, Texas - October 20, 2017. For those of you who have not had the chance of visiting, Houston is one of the most populated cities in the entire country - with about 2.3 million people in 2016. In accordance to its population, Houston is a vary racially diverse city. A majority of the residents are of Hispanic, Latino and Vietnamese origin, but the entire city is full of a variety of races and ethnicity. This gives you as a roleplayer the creative freedom to construct amazing characters that will add various dynamics to our story. We will start in Southwest Houston (the area map provided below), an area devastated by Hurricane in August of 2017. Unlike reality, our world would be absent reconstruction and relief efforts - as the Hurricane not only brought property destruction, but the spread of an unknown disease.

Disease and Walkers
The Walking Dead (both the series and comic book) have implemented a sense of obscurity and unknown when it comes to the spread of the disease. No one really knows how it started or why, everyone had a different speculation - speculations usually pushed to truths by the media. The disease spread quickly, the government issued a state of emergency, giving them power to act outside of constitutional law. First decree was for the military to "cleanse" the spread of this atrocious sickness. They disregarded the non-derogable right of life and massacred hundreds - emptying the hospitals for those with a chance. Chaos ensued all around the world as the disease had become a worldwide epidemic. Most Houstonians (the civil people of the city) went into hiding. Police stations and fire stations opened up for refuge, but their supplies were limited - restricting the amount of people able to remain in their facility.
The infection worked like this: once infected, death seemed inevitable. No medication or treatment cured the disease, nor did it seem to prompt any form of recovery. The sick would soon die, but then, they would return. The dead would walk the earth once more, woken from their sleep to bring forth more death. They would spread the disease through bites, the spread of blood and other unknown sources. It was like a cancer, spreading and spreading until every cell bore the tainted virus. The only way to put one of these Walkers down was to pierce their skull and ruin the brain. Unfortunately that information was foreign to those that have never come in contact with a Walker or managed to kill one.
Note: In this world, ZOMBIES are not a genre - the fictional undead do not exist in this universe.

Our Story
The story for our characters will begin 6 weeks after the collapse of the city of Houston. The government is no longer active in this area - there are theories that the US Govt. is helping prevent the spread from entering the US/Mexican Border. Electric power plants have been out for almost a month now and there is no form of communication aside from walkie-talkies and HAM radios. Cell phones are limited to bluetooth services as some phone companies have made emergency contact available without internet or wifi (but it's been a month, you're most likely out of battery). There is a limited supply of water from the reservoirs. Most have been contaminated by the dead or controlled by unknown sources. Supermarket and grocery stores have been looted and nearly all essential items are gone. Law enforcement is limited and duty no longer excels survival. You are on your own. Find shelter, find people you can trust and work together to survive.
Walkers are migrating from downtown to the Southwest area and are moving faster than you think. I encourage players to create groups from the get-go - an idea to prevent you from not knowing how to start. I will do my best to get your characters involved. If you have ideas, questions or request, feel free to PM me or post them here. Let's all have fun yea?

Rules and Regulations
1. I am the BIG BOSS, you respect the BIG BOSS
2. Be kind to other players, treat others the way you'd like to be treated (outside IC)
3. You may control as many characters as you can handle. If you cannot handle the characters you initially create, you will most likely see them dead.
4. Speaking of CHARACTER DEATH, it WILL occur. Frequently? I'm not sure. Important characters will die with great honor and meaningful deaths. I want everyone to be open-minded on having their character die. If you want your character to go a certain way, PM me and we can work something out. For the sake of the Role-play and its story, I may ask you permission to kill your character off - under reasonable circumstances. Again, please be open-minded to this idea as it is something that will impact the entirety of this role-play.
5. Do not take IC Posts personally. This is something that has happened before and it must be addressed. Characters may not like each other, that does not mean that Role-players do not like each other. Example: If my character beats up your character every single day and calls him a "wuss", don't think QT doesn't like you. It's my character that doesn't like your characters - simple as that. This role-play is meant to be realistic (at least physiologically). There is meant to be drama, but only IC drama.
6. Post Length: Minimum of three to four paragraphs (a paragraph = 5-10 sentences).
7. Try not to write fluff, get somewhere. Filler is inevitable, but do your best to get where you need to be as quickly as possible - within reason of course.
8. Have fun.
9. TV-14: This role-play contains some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age. Parents are strongly urged to exercise greater care in monitoring this program and are cautioned against letting children under the age of 14 role-play unattended. This role-play may contain one or more of the following: intensely suggestive dialogue (D), strong coarse language (L), intense sexual situations (S), or intense violence (V).
10. Have more fun.
