The Walking Dead [closed!]

That reminds me of another WD rp I did a while back on some other forum-- the driving him nuts part, anyway. Carl met a strange lady in the woods, got really mad when she joined the prison group because he thought she followed him, commence karate chop of level Fourteen Year Old strength thanks to another character's teaching methods.

It was pretty great.

Too bad. I had an idea for a weird ~13 year old girl who would develop a crush on Carl and drive him nuts by being the complete opposite of his oh-so-grim-and-serious-I-wanna-be-an-adult-right-now persona. :)
Ah, I'm sorry! That's just the way the cookie crumbles I suppose~

There are two spots left so, you're more than welcome to create an OC and join - I am putting up the IC this week, hopefully!

Name: Carol Peletier

Age: 43

Past Occupation: Housewife

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Appearance:
tumblr_mfuuu1XGuI1rx0b5fo1_500.gif

Personality:

At the outset of the series, Carol is a kind-hearted and soft-spoken woman, though often meek and defenseless, particularly when it comes to facing her abusive husband Ed. She has always remained extremely protective over her daughter Sophia, attempting to shield her from the various dangers of their surroundings. After Ed is beaten half to death, and becoming even stronger following his actual death, she begins to develop thicker skin and draws a new found boldness inside of her. Carol continues this development throughout the second season, standing up for herself much more and deepening her connections within the group.

History:

Before the outbreak, Carol lived down south where she eventually met a man named Ed Peletier. He was initially charming enough for her to date and eventually marry. However, his true nature would be revealed the longer they stayed together. She was a housewife, and fiercely looked after their daughter, Sophia, nurturing and providing her with comfort while Ed greatly neglected her (much to Carol's disgust).

Throughout their marriage, she was a victim of verbal and physical domestic abuse. Because of her shattered independence, she remained hesitant to inform any outsiders of the situation. During a conversation with Rickin the Season 4 episode "Indifference", Carol mentions that Ed drank often, and that she'd gotten her shoulder dislocated several times due to Ed's abuse. She learned how to reset it via the internet, being too embarrassed to keep going back to the hospital to make the excuse that she'd fallen down the stairs.

She once took Sophia to a shelter in Atlanta to get away from Ed but after a day and a half went back to him.
During the outbreak, she, Sophia, and Ed traveled toward Atlanta which was supposedly a safe-zone. They would later meet Shane, Lori, and Carl while on the road and eventually form a campsite outside the outskirts of Atlanta with other survivors sometime after the city was destroyed by the military.

Name: Shiloh "Shy" Vesper

Age: 22

Past Occupation: He doesn't discuss it but he was, in fact, involved in the music business as a guitarist to a well known band. He's lucky to not have yet run into anyone who knows who he was. Not that it matters, but still no one deserves a crazed fan during the apocalypse.

Sexuality: Bisexual with a strong preference for males when it comes to actual relationships.

Personality: Shiloh is an odd man. He keeps to himself at all costs. He's happy to pull his weight and will do anything asked of him, but he does not care for socializing. Sometimes this makes him come off as mysterious or aloof, but really he just doesn't know how to interact with people outside of trying to seduce them. He's extremely hard working and dedicated, not to mention grateful for being taken into the prison. Due to that he's more than willing to risk his life for his friends or kill for them. In the rare occasions he's buzzed or otherwise feels like talking, his honesty and bluntness sometimes comes off as rude, other times as comical. He certainly has a brutal streak that is not to be trifled with, however as he showed to his previous group.

History: Shiloh grew up in a typical Southern household with strict Southern values. He first picked up guitar to play in the church band and then learned to love it through tumultuous times in high school. He discovered his attraction to men and women during his partying days in high school. One fateful night at a party he slipped up and drunkenly kissed a close male friend, who didn't mind in the least. The other attenders and Shiloh's girlfriend were less enthused. Before Shiloh could sober up his parents had kicked him out of the house and more or less told him to never come back unless he came back married...to a woman.

He finished out high school living with his alcoholic uncle and then when straight to music school which he promptly quit after realizing he didn't care about playing what other people told him to. With a couple of friends from his short stay at college, Shiloh started a band that soon grew to know a lot of commercial success with their indie/grunge fusion.

When this shit hit the fan, Shiloh ended up having to put down his band mate and current boyfriend as well as his...girl on the side. Since then he's quickly remembered his fighting days from high school and picked up what it takes to survive.

Most recently he'd been traveling with a group of men, who came across a couple of young women traveling with their dog. When it became clear the other men had less than honorable intentions with those girls, and wouldn't listen to reason when Shiloh explained he'd shoot everyone of them dead if they touched those girls...Well, let's just say Shiloh is a man of his word.

Over a month after that incident and traveling on his own for some time, Shiloh stumbled across a group of scouts from the prison. He passed the three questions and has been around ever since.

Skills + Items:

Strong in hand to hand or melee combat
Maintains a cool head
Very observant and quick thinking
Has a supernatural ability to find cigarettes anytime they go scavenging

Carries a couple of hand/throwing axes, a flask that usually contains water, a scoped hunting rifle, cigarettes (always, always cigarettes) and whatever else he might need for the moment. Wears a variety of flannel or button down shirts with jeans and sturdy hunting boots. He has a denim jacket he wears when he needs it and has a couple of baseball caps to loop his ponytail through.

Bad Things- Jace Everett

Both accepted! I'm glad you chose Carol, she's on of my favourite characters!!

On a quick note - I'm planning on starting up the IC either tonight or tomorrow night, depending on the workload. Couple of things -

No posting order! There are a fair amount of characters and I feel like a posting order would slow us down.

Use gifs/media and jazz up your posts if you'd like, I love pretty threads heh.

I don't expect novels from everyone, do as much as you please, but give everybody enough interaction to play off your charas.

Question - I'm starting with a group on a run and a group back at prison. Would you like to decide where you start or should I make teams?

EDIT: Please, bring walkers in to tackle when you feel like it! Obviously, don't decide to go full blown 1000 walker attack on the prison, but place them in when you feel like it'll do the plot some good!

Teams are probably safer, give everyone an idea of what/where they're jumping into and likely avoid some confusion.

Aw neat, Carol.

Anyway, teams sound good. Everything's looking A+.

Yay love Carol!

I also agree with teams!

Yay I can't wait to post!

Oh cool, we're finally getting this thing rolling. : D

I'll see if I can get a post out today. ^^

Yes! Post you silly mortals! :p

I won't be posting to Sunday because workload is heavy!! It's a really good start though!!

After trying and failing to write a post for Asher I've decided I'm not feeling writing two cynical, survivalist dudes. You mind if I switch Asher out for this dude? He was originally a back up character, but I think he'll be more fun.

JasonWoods-TWDRP_zps2e98863d.jpg

Name: Jason Woods
Age: 17
Past Occupation: Student/Dog Walker
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Height: 5'9
Weight: 168lb

Appearance: Jason was in fantastic shape before the infection started spreading. Aside from a tremendous amount of exercise due to school sports and his job as a dog walker he also had an ideal diet. Since the outbreak however there hasn't exactly been a lot of dietary choice or any time for an exercise routine and Jason's fitness has actually slipped somewhat. He is still relatively fit but he certainly doesn't have the same glowing, athletic look he possessed a year ago. In fact, he has actually grown a little chubby. His arms and legs are still muscular but due to his height and weight, not to mention his experiences during the past year he doesn't look anywhere near as young as he should. He also has some distinctive scarring on his right forearm from an incident with an aggressive dog when he was fourteen.

Clothing wise Jason wears a blue and white plaid shirt with the sleeves cut off, a baggy pair of pale blue jeans with tears at the knees and plain white tennis shoes that look pretty worn. At night and or whenever it gets too cold Jason puts on a black sweater and grey fingerless gloves.

Personality: Jason is optimistic to the point of being naive and knows it, but right now he doesn't really care all that much. He also believes that there is far more to survival than simply staying alive and tries his best to stay determined and strong for those around him. He is extremely easy going and loves to joke around. Even in stressful situations he tries hard to think positively and keep things as light as he can manage, although this usually only has a positive effect on himself. Overall he is a damn good person to have around, especially when it comes to keeping morale up. He does have one or two flaws however, the main one being that his optimism and overconfidence have a tendency to make him reckless. He is also far too forgiving than is healthy in the post-outbreak world, but at the moment he likes it that way. The way he sees it both his strengths and flaws make him who he is and if that were to ever change too drastically than he wouldn't be doing too great a job at surviving. In his eyes anyhow, only a handful of others seem to still agree.

History: Jason was born and raised in Cortland, Ohio, the child of Michael and Marie Woods. He had a relatively decent upbringing, living in a decent sized house and never really knowing what it was like to be out of anything essential. His parents had a decent relationship for the most part and he loved them both dearly, never really understanding when his friends acted like their own parents were dreadful.

Being a very well adjusted kid Jason did pretty well in school and almost always had a passion for sport. He didn't love any sport specifically but he preferred it when team work and cooperation was required, always getting more satisfaction when he had to help others to win to win himself.

It wasn't until Jason was fifteen that he truly got angry at his parents and his general demeanour took a bit of a hit. This came at the news that they would be moving to Atlanta. His mother had been given an opportunity there and it was too good to pass up. He had lived in Cortland his entire life and even his parents had grown up there. It was saddening to say the least, but his mom did try to soften the blow by getting him a dog while he was still in Cortland. Someone to remind him of home, she said.

A year later Jason lived in Atlanta and was back to doing well in school and in sports. Things were looking good once again. That was until the damned outbreak.
His parents didn't last too long. They weren't built for this new world. They were compassionate and forgiving, something bandits exploited to lead them into a trap. At first it was just a robbery, but one of the bandit men couldn't leave it there and planned on something unforgivable when he saw Marie. His father couldn't take that and was killed in a futile attempt at defending his wife. He and Chop managed to severely injure one of the men, but there were three of them, and even if Michael were the opposite of the man he was he wouldn't have stood a chance. Luckily someone who was more than capable did. Shane Walsh. He disposed of them as if they were vermin, which was what he referred to them by. He took a share of their supplies too, but this was later easily forgiven due to what he had prevented.

Jason and Marie travelled with Shane for quite a while. They were repulsed at how easily Shane seemed to take life but he protected them and in their conversations it was slowly revealed that he wasn't a terrible man. He wasn't a good one by a long shot, but not as bad as he could seem. Unfortunately their luck and Shane's skill eventually slipped and Marie was bitten. They had come across the prison before this, but Shane had convinced them that going in was too dangerous. The people there could kill them on sight. He knew this wasn't true, but he couldn't yet face his past. Stricken with guilt and responsibility after Marie's death he took both Jason and Chop to the prison.

As forgiving as Jason is he still harbours a buried hatred towards Shane. If he hadn't put his own weakness ahead of their safety Marie would likely still be alive, and that is not an easy thing to forgive.

Skills: Jason is still in pretty decent shape, which is probably his primary survival skill right now. He can run fast and for long distances and for his age he is relatively strong. He is also young and very enthusiastic, meaning that aside from having plenty of time to learn new skills he also has a good mind for the job. A great and fortunate thing considering his current lack of skills. One more notable skill is his ability to command his dog, Chop. Jason spent a lot of time before the outbreak learning how to properly care for the dog whilst still keeping it's respect and their bond is a strong one.

Items: Jason only really owns one thing, a Glock 17 that Shane gave him. He isn't practised in it's use however and right now he has little to no use for it.

Oh, sorry guys! I haven't been on all week, so I'm just seeing that the IC is up. I'll be replying ASAP

Woo! I'm baaack!

@Freamon -- That is no problem! Let me add that in for you, feel free to assume when I mention Asher in my first post, it was Jason, but I'll change that for you now!

Hey my pretties, can I get an opinion on a plot?:

I was thinking, because this is TWD and nothing ever goes to plan, I was thinking of maybe once the run group get back, they discuss about the van and Rick sends out another group to get the van. THEN a hoard of walkers manages to cut off the run group from the prison and maybe the run group gets split. Some could manage to get back to the prison, with the news of the hoard splitting them and they aren't sure if the others are still alive, then they can decide where to go from there?

We need more dramarama!
