Although once they were all the closest of friends, these newly arrived high schoolers have mostly drifted away. Oh well. Maybe high school will change all of that. At least, some of them hope so. Others don't want anything to do with their past, even though they don't have much of a choice. Love triangles. Hatred. Grades! What are you going to do? Eris is a generally likeable person. She's quite intense and energetic, but she never means any harm when she goes overboard. She's quite intelligent in an intuitive every-day situation kind of way, but she needs to be able to visualise a situation, so often does poorly in tests that are just hypothetical questions or the learning of knowledge. She cannot read very well, and her ability to speak Japanese is quite broken and very obviously foreign in nature. Eris's father was Japanese, and her mother English, and she was raised in England until she was 10. After that, her parents got divorced, and her father moved back to Japan. For the next 4 years, she alternated between living in England and Japan, usually spending half a term in each location. As one could imagine, this lead to her having very few friends, and a very low level of education. This is possibly why she developed her over the top personality in an effort to be friends with anyone she might meet. Eventually, her mother fell ill, and so she began living permanently in Japan. She had only been living there for 2 weeks before the new school year began.

Her and her older brother went into adoptive care where they were later separated cause her father had been adopted but she had not been. Kyumi still till this day lives in the orphanage but hasn't yet spoken to he father who was charged with life.
