"In the end, darkness shall always prevail whilst all else shall perish. When the darkened shadow of the Silver Moon is cast across the illuminated Town, all that was once touched by light shall burn."

In the heart of a thickly forested valley lies a small settlement known as the Town of Pine Hills. As far back as anyone can remember, the Town has always prospered in this valley. Those that reside here have gone through generation after generation from the time of their founding ancestors. The descendants of today have not been as fortunate as their ancestors once were. As the generations continued, the Town began to flourish less and less. Many residents, once content and composed, have strayed deep into the Forgotten Lands. Throughout the generations, numerous stories have been spread that once one steps paw in the Forgotten Lands, they return to Town a different cat. These stories have never been more true than in the present day. Townsfolk believe that the times of the founding ancestors have returned, the times when witches had been free to roam the streets of the Town.

Town History
The Town of Pine Hills was originally founded by five traveling cats. They were known as Egan, Orion, Naomi, Nylah, and Neptune. These five cats had been very close friends for countless lunar cycles. They had decided to leave their birth town in search for new, unexplored land. Their dream was the create the perfect town together as a team. After these weary travelers first stepped paw on the valleys that the town now sits upon, they knew it was the perfect location. At the time, however, their valley had almost no trees in sight and was surrounded by open space. They set to work in creating their perfect little town.
As time went on, they soon completed the construction. Over time more and more cats came to settle into the new town. For several lunar cycles, all was peaceful and better than the founders ever expected. Then, one day, Neptune took note of the valley opposite of their town. Unlike their surrounding land, it was covered in a thick forest of pine trees. Unable to contain her curiosity, Neptune left the following night to investigate by herself.
Upon setting a paw into the forest, a chill was sent up her spine. She walked deeper and deeper into the forest until she stumbled upon a small, rundown shack made out of stone. Being clueless at the time, she entered the shack. She saw a sapphire jewel that was sat upon a short pedestal. After hearing approaching pawsteps, Neptune hastily grabbed the jewel and began to leave. However, she was caught. The cat that found her was a jet black female named Eclipse. Eclipse told her that she could hold the most power ever imaginable in her paws. Naive, Neptune agreed to be taken under apprenticeship of Eclipse.
Through various lunar cycles of an apprenticeship, Neptune learned the ways of witchcraft. She was taught countless spells and given little tips and tricks. The more she seemed to learn, the more the thick forest began to spread. Eventually it enclosed The Town of Pine Hills. Neptune was eventually caught sneaking out one night. After being questioned, she brought her four friends with her to the shack. There, Neptune introduced them to Eclipse. She tried to get them to train with her. She claimed that they could achieve anything they wanted. They could make their townsfolk do anything they wanted! The other four declined, horrified by the idea of witchcraft. They banished Neptune from the town and named the area surrounding the shack The Forgotten Forest.
Convinced that Eclipse and herself could overpower the other four, Neptune set out for the town. This led to a great war known as The Timeless Battle. Little did Neptune know, the other founders had dabbled into a bit of witchcraft of their own. Instead of using it for dark ambitions, they swore to use it solely to protect their town. In the end, Eclipse was defeated. As for Neptune, they discovered a way to seal her inside the sapphire jewel. Despite her turning to witchcraft, she was once their very dear friend. They could not bring themselves to completely destroy her. After successfully sealing her away, they returned the jewel to its pedestal in the shack.
As they left the jewel in the shack, they swore that they heard a faint voice whispering. "In the end, darkness shall always prevail whilst all else shall perish. When the darkened shadow of the Silver Moon is cast across the illuminated Town, all that was once touched by light shall burn." These words were passed down from generation to generation as a warning. As time went on, the younger generations began to stop taking the warning seriously and became reckless.

Present History
Today, the younger generation has mostly forgotten about the once dark ambitions surrounding witchcraft. The only witchcraft seen up until now was that that was used by Sorcerers. A group of reckless and young cats visited the shack one quiet night. They were messing around and ended up knocking over the pedestal with the sapphire jewel. Upon falling, the jewel was shattered. It is said that those cats could hear the ominous laughter of a cat they had never heard the voice of before. Townsfolk that still believe in the old stories claim that Neptune had been released when the jewel had shattered.
