The Tale of An Chéad Toshi: Uruk

*Sometimes, Iwaku doesn't seem to like my BBCode and will refuse to properly expand/collapse some stuff. I believe I fixed all the egregious parts in this post, but I apologize if you run into this problem.

Greetings, one and all, and welcome to this RP! However long it might be, I hope you enjoy your stay.

This club is a sci-fi/fantasy club with plentiful lore, significant emphasis on adventuring/missions/what you will, and a very detailed combat system. If that sounds fun, I'm glad. If that worries you, stick around anyway. It may be a lot to take in, especially if you aren't used to anything like this, but I promise that its fun once you're used to it.

If you've come here and we've already begun IC, I 100% mean it when I say "Always Open". We will figure out ways to incorporate you into the world/plot so you can have fun too. Don't worry, I have ways of making it work out.

For a rough summary of the RP's background, please read the following:
One fateful day in the 21st century, humanity made their first contact with an extraterrestrial group. A fleet of bizarre starships suddenly emerged near Earth and began laying siege to the planet. In every aspect, humanity found themselves failing in the bitter fight to defend their planet. The enemy ships were beyond the reach of most human technology, so they could safely lurk in orbit while their weapons carved open the planet's surface. Even their ground forces were more than the humans could handle. The smallest alien soldiers could face down an entire infantry battalion and still emerge victorious. The largest of their ground forces were more than capable of shrugging off a nuclear strike.

Faced with this seemingly insurmountable threat that was dubbed the "Lacertan Lizards", humanity pulled out all the stops in their quest for survival. They rushed forward with all manner of military research. Entire cities were drafted and instructed in the usage of weaponry. Even the ones known as Mages, they that possessed mystical powers science could not explain, came out of the shadows and revealed themselves to the world in the hopes they would be able to assist in turning the tide.

Alas, humanity's efforts seemed insufficient. The people cried out for salvation, for the gods of yore to return once more and cast out these invaders. Unfortunately, the prayers of humanity were heard and answered. Gaea, the parallel Earth infinitely close yet impossibly far from the one we know, the world beyond life, the home of spirits, gods, and demons alike; it is said that thanks to the carnage of the war and the intensity of humanity's prayers, the separation between these two disparate worlds became almost nil. Gates between Gaea and Terra formed all over, providing connections between the two either via transportation or via the two physically merging.

Just as the humans of Terra found themselves baffled by the sudden appearance of gods and demons, so too did the various spirits and beasts of Gaea marvel at this new world they had come to. The Lacertan Lizards showed no signs of discriminating against Gaeans or Terrans in their bloody conquest, turning their weaponry against these newcomers as well. The Lizards may have bitten off more than they could chew by doing so, though, as the retaliation of the ancient gods was swift and terrible. The mighty warships that had barraged Terran cities began to sink one by one in the face of foes who could surpass even their might. humans all over rejoiced at this changing of the tide, hoping that the Lizards would be destroyed once and for all.

Fate is a capricious mistress, though, as humans discovered in both the figurative and literal sense. The gods fought not to save humans, but for their own desires; the lives that they saved or destroyed in the process were inconsequential. Furthermore, the gods were hardly a united front. Most of them acted as individuals or with a small entourage of lesser beings, and battles between the gods themselves were all too frequent. Humanity could do little more than cower in terror and flee as far from their now countless foes as possible.

Yet, despite the Apocalypse surrounding them, humans did not give up. They began forming towns and cities, rebuilding what they had once lost. And despite the capriciousness of the gods reigning on high and the monsters roaming below, humans did not find themselves bereft of allies. Many of the Spirits from Gaea found themselves sympathizing with the humans and offered their support in the reconstruction. Some of the more peace-inclined gods even elected to take humans under their wings and shelter them from the chaos of war.

And eventually, the nightmare came to an end. The Lizards seemed to have exhausted much of their forces and were forced to desist in their assaults. The gods found themselves weary of their eternal battles and elected to rest. Humanity may have fallen from its pedestal as the most powerful life form on the planet, but they were not yet eradicated.

Our eyes now turn from the broad overview of the Earth's history and zero in on one of the human cities that found itself prospering after the war: "An Chéad Toshi: Uruk". Here, humanity would push themselves off the dirt of their tattered planet and reach out once more towards the sky. Here, our story begins.

So? What did you think? Wait, what do you mean, you skipped it? Go back and read it! How will you know what the world is like? Eh? You mean that's just background and doesn't actually tell you about what the actual plot will be? Well, sorry. Basically, its been ~200 years since the Apocalypse. You're a Mage. You make a pact with a Spirit, you're pressed into military service, and now you go hunt baddies/monsters/etc as I tell you. Obviously, there will be a lot more than that, but that's for once we get going.

Alright, now that you know the background and a vague description of what'll go down, let's move on. First off, there's a Discord. Joining the Discord is mandatory. 99% of the OOC communication will be performed there. If you aren't in the Discord, then you'll be missing most of the OOC conversation and messages from me.

Secondly, there's a separate thread that contains all the useful information about how combat works, what all the gibberish in the character sheet actually means, the lore that I didn't put in the summary, etc. It can be found over in the Roleplay Extras forum. You know that gibberish I said about who your character will be? That will hopefully make more sense after reading through this thread. Obviously, I'll post a link once I've created the thread. Ooh, pretty link. Jk, this one right here.

Alright, the most important part:

Rules

The general club rules are pretty simple.

  1. Obey all site rules. This really shouldn't need to be said, but another warning doesn't hurt. In particular, I draw your attention to the character age rules. This RP allows characters down to as young as 10 (because the original concept I started from was someone telling me "Go make a Magical Girl RP", and many magical girls have young characters); the age limit for being lewd on Iwaku is 13+. Keep that in mind.
  2. NO ERP. You can compliment someone's rockin' bod, you can notice someone's bulge, you can compare sizes, etc. But I don't need to read about your passionate kisses or hot steamy nightly activities. If they absolutely, positively must do something, do it offscreen where I don't need to read it. No offense intended to those interested in ERP, I'm just not a fan.
  3. This club has reasonably detailed lore and a fairly complex combat system. I don't expect you to have perfect knowledge of every tidbit of lore. Nor do I expect you to to be perfect with the combat system (and definitely not at first). But inconsistencies/contradictions must of course be avoided, for everyone's sake. Thus, if/when you are corrected on something, please don't take it as an insult or cruel act. We will be as kind/respectful as possible in corrections. Please just make the corrections and (hopefully) learn from the experience so we don't have to repeat the process.
  4. I/any other GMs I add always have the final say. I/we will be as open to suggestions as possible, but if we say a discussion is over, its over. Drop it so we can all move on.

Oh hey, you made it this far? Good sign! Or you're really bored. Well, either way, you've almost got to the fun part. There's just one more thing. The following will be important for making character skills.

Skill Value Guide:
This Guide is intended to be used alongside the Character Skill Primer.

If you read the Primer, you probably said "Well that's great, but what the hell do all these numbers mean?" Here, we answer that question. Simply put, everything has a value. Damage is worth value, buffs are worth value, limitations are worth value, etc. While you could just ask someone "Make me a skill that does X", this guide will help you make your own skills or know what you can and can't do.

Do note that these values are not absolute and can be subject to change.

Statistics Value:
Determines how much value you gain when listed as cost.
  • Aura: 1.5 Value
  • Prana: 1
  • Stamina: 0.5 Value
Prerequisite Value:
Determines how much value you gain when listed as prerequisites.
  • Charge Phase: +33% Average Value Output per Phase
  • Below 50% Health: +33% Average Value Output
  • Below 25% Health: +66% Average Value Output
Limitation Value:
Determines how much value you gain when listed as limitations.
  • Once per Battle: +66% Average Value Output
  • Twice per Battle: +33% Average Value Output

Active, Active Continuous, and Passive
The three categories of skills. Active = action is willingly taken and all effects are immediate. Active Continuous = action is willingly taken, but effects are not completely immediate. Passive = the effect happens when conditions (if any) are met; the user has no control over their activation.

Actives and Active Continuous skills are easy; just use the numbers below.

Passive effects are balanced based off of their effect over the course of 3 Turns. (Example: You want a passive increase of +1 Normal level of Vitality. Each Phase of Normal Buff = 5 value. 2 Phases per turn means 6 Phases for 3 Turns. 5 value per phase * 6 phases = 30 value. Assuming no base value or limitations are provided, you must have costs so that your 30 value output would be paid within 3 turns. ie, a cost of 10 Prana per turn).

Skill Value:
  • Damage: 1 Value per Damage Point
  • Damage over Time (DoT): 1.5 Value per Damage Point, -10% cost per turn it takes to reach full effect (up to 50% reduction). Deals plain/true damage
  • Base Damage+: 1 Value per 1 Damage Point per Phase, No Damage Modifier
  • Restore: 1.5 Value per Aura Point, 1 Value per Prana Point, 1 Value per Durability Point, 0.5 Value per Stamina Point
  • Restore %: 5 Value per Aura %, 4 Value per Prana %, 3 Value per Durability %, 2 Value per Stamina %
  • Aura Reactivation: 50 Value + 1.5 Value per Aura Point
  • Resurrection: 100 Value + 1.5 Value per Health Point
  • Ranged (Projectile): 5 Value
  • Ranged (not Projectile): > 5 Value, will be determined on case - to - case basis until clear precedent is established
  • Homing: 1.5x your skill's Value
  • Knockback: 1x Distance (in metres)
  • Teleport: 10 + 2x Distance (in metres)
  • Invisibility: 20 Value per Phase (+10 per Perception Rank above default), Perception required for full Visibility = Skill Grade +1
  • Inaudibility: 15 Value per Phase (+7.5 per Perception Rank above default), Perception required for full Audibility = Skill Grade +1
  • Defense Bypass: 2x Damage (Your attack will penetrate most Guards and magic barriers; Aura manifestation and things related to it are not bypassed)
  • Free Action: -1 Spell Grade
  • AoE Multipliers:
    • (<2.5m Radius): 1.5x Total Value (excl. Speed Cost for all AoEs, Radius = Height)
    • (<5m Radius): 2x Total Value
    • (<10m Radius): 2.5x Total Value
    • (<20m Radius): 3x Total Value
    • (<30m Radius): 3.5x Total Value
    • (<50m Radius): 4x Total Value

(See Attribute Buffs and Debuffs for an explanation of the following 3 entries)
  • Normal Attribute Buff/Debuff: 5 Value per Level per Phase
  • Great Attribute Buff/Debuff: 10 Value per Level per Phase
  • Mega Attribute Buff/Debuff: 20 Value per Level per Phase
(Note: if a buff only lasts for a single action rather than an entire Phase, divide the buff's cost by 2.)

Summons:
General Notes:
  • All Summons have a base of 1 Aura, 5 Prana, and 10 Stamina, and E Rank in all Attributes. All summons intended for combat purposes also undergo Aura Extension, allowing them to deal full damage with their standard choice of melee weapon. For summons intended for ranged combat, they may either have a certain number of projectiles created upon summon, or may have the ability to create a standard projectile for their weapon. If said projectiles are not defined under "Wands and Weapons" in this thread, they cost 5 Prana to create and deals 10 Damage.
  • Summons are destroyed/unsummoned when their Aura is depleted; they cannot exist with 0 Aura.
  • If a summoner enters Aurashock, so do their summons. If a summoner is killed/reduced to a Soul, then all of their summons are unsummoned immediately.
  • All summons created by a specific spell can be unsummoned by spending a Phase consciously willing them to be unsummoned. Summon spells cannot be recast while any summon from the prior cast is still present. If there are multiple summon spells in effect, only one spell can be unsummoned at a time.
  • The base cost per summon is based around each summon having a certain set of criteria. If one or more is left out, then the base cost will be reduced (reduce Base Cost by 25% for each feature missing).
    • Independent Action (does not require strict instructions from summoner in order to act)
    • Reasonable level of intelligence (capable of simple problem solving/independent thought)
    • Reasonable level of power (Aura > 1 and/or at least one attribute of rank > skill rank and/or possesses a Skill of Grade >= the summoning skill's Grade)
    • Stamina Regen at Start of Turn/Standby
  • Higher grade summon spells have increased cost per entity to reflect the increased individual power of the summon(s).
  • Standard Summon: Base cost = 15 value per Entity. Final cost formula = (Base cost * Skill Grade) + additional features. Cost of additional Statistics calculated based on Statistic restoration costs. 10 CP provided per Spell Grade. Max Attribute Rank = Spell Grade + 2 Ranks. Skills are permitted; can possess skills up to the same Grade as the Summoning Spell.
  • Multi Summon: Base cost = 15 value per Entity. Final cost formula = Base cost + (Base cost * Skill Grade * 33%) + additional features. Cost of additional Statistics calculated based on Statistic restoration costs. 10 CP provided per Spell Grade. CP is split evenly among each of the multi-summons (rounded down). Max Attribute Rank = Spell Grade + 2 Ranks. Skills are permitted; can possess skills up to the same Grade as the Summoning Spell. All summons created by a single spell must be effectively identical.
  • Linked Summon: Base Cost = 30 value per Entity. Final cost formula = (Base cost * Skill Grade) + additional features. Statistics are shared with Summoner (damage or healing to one is damage or healing to both). Receives 10 CP per Spell Grade. Max Attribute Rank = Spell Grade + 2 Ranks. Skills are permitted; can possess skills up to the same Grade as the Summoning Spell. Multiple Linked Summon spells can be cast at once, but Multi Summons cannot be Linked.

HOORAY! YOU MADE IT! Everything make sense? No? Good. Well, anyway, ask for help if you need it. Talk more with me on Discord. I look forward to RPing with you!

Character Sheet Template (With Explanations):
  • Name: *You'd better know what a Name is*
  • Age: *Preferably between 10-20, as magical talent is supposed to usually appear in response to changing bodies/increased hormonal activity that often accompanies puberty/the teenage years. Higher is permitted, but if everyone starts making 30 somethings, I'll be annoyed. Lower than 10 is NOT permitted (unless its like 9 and their birthday is tomorrow IC). The only reason I'm allowing down to 10 in the first place is because this RP is loosely based off of magical girl concepts, and many magical girl shows have late elementary/middle school characters. Less than 10 is just too weird, both for RPing and for fitting into the setting. Geriatrics likewise not permitted unless you have a super convincing argument.*

Iwaku rules clearly state that if you want to do anything lewd, characters involved must be 13+. Keep that in mind. Even though there is NOT going to be any full-on ERP here, I don't want to have trouble because a 12 year old was admiring da booty
  • Gender: *Male, Female, Non-binary (describe if you want. Or don't. As long as people can understand you.)*
  • AMB Module: Will be selected IC at a later date, though you are welcome to plan ahead of course.
  • Total Character Points: *count all points you have spent and list it here (ex. 7, 10, etc)*

*You start with up to 10 CP. 4 of that 10 will be spent on Bonding a Spirit (unless you discussed that with me somehow). The remaining 6 is yours to spend as you please. Or you can choose not to spend it. But you dont get to keep it for later. Use it or lose it.*
  • Overall Statistics:
    • *100 in each Statistic is the default for all new characters. Changes to the initial values require explicit mod consent and a good IC reason.
    • Aura: 100
    • Prana: 100
    • Stamina: 100
  • Spirits:
*Spirits are the foundation of Bonded Magic. It is essential for all Mages to have at least one Spirit. Additional Spirits may be Bonded later. Each Bonded Spirit is worth 4 CP*

    • *Insert Spirit name here*

      Spirit Description:
*All Spirits have three core traits: their Classification (Fairy/Artificial/etc), Subject (usually an Element or a concept such as "Swords" or "Honor"), and their Method (how the Subject is typically manifested, eg increasing the Mage's physical prowess, creating large explosions, etc).*
      • Classification: *Put the Spirit's current Classification as it pertains to you. Even if you have an Artificial demon sword, if the sword is only offering you the power of a Fairy, it is of the Fairy Class for this purpose.*

*All player characters start with a "Fairy" amount of power (to preserve balance), even if their spirit would normally be more powerful*
      • Subject: *Put an Element or Concept*
      • Method: *Describe the Method*
      • Bonded Magic List: *The spells that correspond to the Bond with this particular Spirit. Each Military Grade spell reuires 2 CP to learn.*
[Rank E] *Enter Spell Name here, Reminder: 2 CP per E rank Spell* (*SPELL*)
        • - Description:
*In the Spell Description you should explain about the general outline of the spell as well as how your character uses it. Is it a combo attack where he charges at the opponent from a distance and slashes him 7 times? Is it a powerful punch that knocks the enemy back? Or perhaps a special gun shot that can light the target ablaze? Choose what you desire.*

          - Effect: *Here you should put only sentences such as "Deals 10 Physical Damage." or "Renders target immobile for 1 Turn" or "Heals 25 Health". Note that if you are using an offensive spell, you should either state whether or not the damage inflicted is physical or magical. Please make the effect description as short and as concise as possible.*
          - Attribute Modifier: *Choose among any of the available attributes as long as they are reasonable. You can also put in None.*
          - Cost: *Put cost of the Spell here (like "10 Prana + 5 Prana per person, 10 Prana & 5 Stamina per Turn etc."). Spells can also have no cost.*
          - Type: *Active, Active Continuous or Passive. A spell that delivers its entire effect and is done is an Active spell. If it has a lasting effect after activation, it is Active Continuous. If it requires zero conscious effort to trigger the effect, it is a Passive.*
          - Duration: *Either in Phases or Turns. If your spell has a continuous effect, please put the duration here. If not, delete this section. If its permanent (often in case of passive spell), put in Permanent*
          - Affinity: *Offensive, Defensive, Buffing, Debuffing or Recovery.*
          - Prerequisites:
          • *Any conditions your character needs satisfy before activation of the spell. More/difficult conditions can increase the power of your spell. Note that after effects of spell usage (such as loss of Health) need to be listed in the Effect section. (Copy
          • if you want to use more Prerequisites)*
        • - Limitations:
          • *Any restrictions your character has when or after using the spell. More/severe restrictions can increase the power of your spell. Note that this only concerns restrictions placed on your character, not penalties (such as reduced attributes). (Copy
          • if you want to use more Limitations)*
      • Personality: As Spirits are sentient beings, they must have some degree of personality. You don't have to be detailed, but something general would be nice to know. The more you expect your Spirit to interact/be involved with your character's activities, the more detailed their Personality should be.
      • Biography: Somewhat optional. You don't need a life story (unless you want one), but you should put the reason your Spirit made its Bond (or at least the reason it gave, if it has a secret motive to be revealed later).
      • Appearance: Describe or provide a picture of their appearance

  • Personal Abilities: *There are three types of Personal Abilities: Cantrips, Techniques, and Blessings.*
    • Cantrips: *Cantrips are spells you can cast without the help of a Bonded Spirit, either because it is a weak enough spell compared to your qualifications, or because you have practiced it considerably. The entire thaumaturgy must be contained in your mind or a Focus, and your Spirits cannot lend their assistance. You only have 5 Cantrip Slots available in your mind, but your Wand or an additional Focus can allow you to store more. Each Civilian Grade Cantrip takes 1 slot; each Military Grade Cantrip consumes its Grade worth of Cantrip slots (Grade E = 1 slot, Grade D = 2, etc)*

*Cantrips that are of Civilian Grades generally require 1 CP to create (exceptions may occur by mod judgement); Cantrips of Military Grades require 2 CP for every Grade*

    • Techniques: *Techniques are abilities where the result created is because of your body's physical actions, rather than thaumaturgy. They are often specific martial arts or skills you have learned, perhaps . They are classified like Military Grade Spells for ease; any technique that would be considered Civilian Grade is not difficult to warrant being called a technique.*

        • *Any restrictions your character has when or after using the skill. More/severe restrictions can increase the power of your skill. Note that this only concerns restrictions placed on your character, not penalties (such as reduced attributes).*

    • Blessings: *Blessings are divine gifts of power from Spirits who have been elevated to the status of God. They can take almost any form or shape, and can vary dramatically in the amount of power they grant. However, one must of course meet whatever conditions the God has before you can obtain the Blessing.*

*As Blessings can vary enormously in power and scale, CP cost will be determined on a case-to-case basis. Furthermore, because Blessings can be so powerful and Gods are so important to the lore, the more powerful the Blessing or influential the God that granted it, the less likely it is to be approved. Good ways to get a Blessing of your own creation: impress me with creativity, or be completely memeworthy.*

*Blessings use the standard skill template, but unlike other skills, they do not necessarily need to follow it perfectly. Blessings are also partially exempt from the Skill Value System and will be evaluated based on overall balance, not precise numbers. Go wild.*

Additional or more powerful starting equipment will cost your character CP (to prevent someone from being a billionaire or starting with freaking Excalibur). If you want your character to be provided multiple Wands from the Academy initially, you should save some CP for that.*
  • Equipment: *Enter name here if applicable* (in the event of multiple equipments, duplicate this section)
Type: *Sword, Shield, Bow, Staff, etc.*
Durability: *Material objects can only take so much of a beating before they break/are deformed. You can restore Durability through repairs, or some spells may be able to magically restore Durability. Default Wands possess 75 Durability.*
Number of Core Slots: *insert number here. Default for a Wand is 1, default for all others is 0*
Spirit Cores: *Name the Spirits whose Cores are in this Equipment. Obviously, if there are no Core Slots, there can be no Spirit Cores*
Additional Properties: *Extra Cantrip Storage, Spell Enhancing, etc. Default Wands do not have any properties.*
Description: *Describe the Equipment, keep it simple. Your description will not have any direct effect on the actual power of the equipment, so don't even try to slip something in here.*

  • Biography:
***All characters must include/obey the following: They must be an actual human. You don't get to have your character be a Spirit, an extraterrestrial, a demi-human, etc, no matter how much you ask. They must be from Uruk or part of Uruk's lands. They must be an appropriate age. They must have basic origin details (rich, poor, wife + 3 kids, etc.) They must have discovered or have been discovered to have at least Military Grade E magic talent (maybe they trained their magic, maybe they were in a dangerous/emotional situation and it just sorta exploded unconsciously). They must have formed a Bond with a Spirit within the last two weeks IC (you must describe this scene). They must have been approached and collected by the Specters (can run/fight, go peacefully, doesn't matter how) so they can be brought to the Academy.*

*If you don't understand what X part of these requirements means, either ask for help or refresh your knowledge of the RP's lore.*

*Don't try any of the "Will be explained IC" bullshit. You're in an RP, for crying out loud. If you aren't even creative enough to make up a little bit of bio, then why are you trying to RP?*

  • Personality:
*Should complement your biography. Let your character show his/her individuality.*
  • Appearance:
*Put your picture or description here. If possible, also describe/put what your Transformed appearance is, since that's what you'll look like in combat and such*
  • Small Picture:
*If possible, please put a 100x100px (or 150x150) picture here. Small pictures are useful to have. You can use the picture to start your post to make it easier to know who is acting. Also, it is preferred if you focus on the face.*

Oh yes, one final thing I must mention. Much of the combat and character system of this RP is based off of another RP club (from a different site) I was part of/ a mod of previously: Aeternia Story. Aeternia Story was originally made by a person I know as Minarei, who in turn acquired some of the basis from someone I know as Rozen. Aeternia has long since fallen (multiple times over), and ever since it finally kicked the bucket, I have contemplated ways to take one of the stronger aspects of the club (its combat/character system) and bring it new life. Credit where credit is due, this new RP probably never would've come about without their work, and for that, at least, I am grateful to them both.

      • Alice

        Spirit Description:
        • Classification: Lesser Animal (D rank)
        • Subject: Death
        • Method: Enhances Londo's Body and spells.
          • Bonded Magic List:
            [*]
[Rank D] Touch of Death (*SPELL*)
            • - Description: The feeling and fear of death is in every object and organism. Every creature and object decays at a different rate. Alice can simply speed up this rate and cause someone or something to decay from the inside out if she wishes to. With this spell, she enchances Londo's strike, causing his strike to decay the target, damaging them every turn as well as making them more susceptible to being hurt. However, this spell also slightly decays Londo himself. Even though Londo's Soul has experienced death many times, his current body is not used to it.

As this spell is touched based, it deals no inital damage.
            • - Effect: Deals 6 plain damage a phase for 6 phases (36 total plain damage) as well as debuffing the vitality of the target by 1 rank for 6 phases. If it is an inorganic object, it only takes damage.
              - Cost: 5 Aura, 8 Prana, 15 Stamina
              - Type: Active Continuous
              - Duration: 6 Phases
              - Affinity: Offensive
              - Prerequisites:
            • - Limitations:
              • Only usable twice per battle.
            [*][*][*][*][*][*][*][*][*][*][*]
        • Personality: Alice is very fed up with Londo's bullshit, only going along with him due to having paid by an unknown person. She generally doesn't talk to anyone but Londo, due to most of the time not even having the chance to, because interfering in other worlds' affairs was prohibited. However, due to the nature of this one, Alice might even open up a bit and speak with others for once....
        • Biography: Alice was born in a world known as Anohara. She was made to be the Angel of Death, and much of her backstory is unknown. All that is known is that an unknown entity is paying Alice to watch Londo, and make sure he does not destroy other worlds himself by accident.

Starting in Anohana, Alice was contracted by an unknown being to follow Londo around, and make sure he doesn't destroy any more worlds.... Again. She typically takes to the sideline and never takes with anyone from other worlds, due to their nature, but this new world is different, so Alice was curious enough to send Londo here and see the results of what would happen....

Of course, Londo had to adhere to the rules of this world, and Alice was unable to contact him in all this time, until a suitable time came. Once Londo came of age to learn magic, and he would be linked to a spirit, Alice would finally be able to contact him, and tell him every Chuuni thing he made up about himself was true...
        • Appearance: Pink hair, pretty big boobs. Purple eyes. Tends to wear skimpy clothing, because being the Angel of Death wasn't distancy enough from other Angels. Has a humanoid appearance.

    • Biography:
In the new world of The Tale of An Chéad Toshi: Uruk

Londo felt cramped. Extremely so. What the hell was happening?

Londo tried to move his arm, but felt he could not move anything. Why was this?

Londo tried calling out for help, but felt he could not do so. He had no mouth, yet he wanted to scream out.

Nothing worked. He felt nothing except the sensation fo being cramped. Then suddenly-

Agony. Extremely agonizing pain. Londo had felt pain this painful many times before, but this was a new kind of pain. He felt like it was arching through his very soul and even trying to disrupt his very existence. Why was this happening!? How was this happening?!

      Then suddenly again-

A bright light. Londo opened his eyes-

Yes! His eyes! Londo blinked rapidly, trying to clear his retinas. He could see now! Londo felt more than being cramped, and he no longer even felt cramped. He smiled and laughed out loud, real sounds were being made!

The bright light faded, and Londo realized he was now staring at the face of an unknown person! This was amazing! He could feel, he could do stuff now!

Londo tried to get up, but felt his arms unable to move, like they were bound. Londo looked down towards his arms, but he was unable to move his head around very much. Londo felt like this was a reason to cry, and although he felt very weird about he did.

At the same time, something struck his behind, making him cry worse. For some reason, Londo heard cheers as this happened. Why was this happening? Why was he crying? Why were people cheering for this? Did he come into another world with a cult that just beat people?

But Londo soon found out, as he was wrapped in a blanket, that this was not the case. He was now being handed off to someone else, a very tired-looking woman who looked at him with tears of joy, whom was wearing a hospital gown....

Growing up in this new world was a strange occurence for Londo. He held the memories of himself from previous worlds, and even knew everything there was to know about himself. At least, this is what Londo told himself. In reality he "knew" he was just a boy from this world. He only made up this personality and background for himself because he believed himself to be a true hero, as his parents told him he was destined for great things!

Everyone else thought it was weird that Londo grew up claiming to know major amounts of magic and that one day he'd be a hero, but they chalked it up to children being children, even if they were frightened that he'd be taken away. Londo cared not for this, and as he grew up, his personality distanced him from other children, as they wanted nothing to do with the apparent chuuni going around claiming he could cast magic.

Londo abatedly waited for the day he could cast magic, but as his 10th birthday came and went, then his 11th, then his 12th, Londo became saddened that maybe his magical prowess would not appear in this world. He had studied and tried to come up with techniques or spells that showed potential in his previous life, but nothing happened.

Then, on his 13th birthday, all alone because Londo usually did not invite other children, and other children usually did not even come if his parents invited them, Londo was hitting the training dummy he had gotten for his 11th birthday. As Londo was training on this dummy, he became increasingly more frustrated, until he threw a final punch into it, causing it to explode from the force of power. Londo felt estatic, and as his parents looked on in horror, Londo went to his room to pack his things.

Londo quickly said goodbye to his parents before the Spectres came to pick him up. They thought it was weird that this young boy was already prepared, and looked as if he was waiting for this moment all his life.

Although Londo was sad that his newly acquired parents were not being taken from his life, he had to get used to it, as now he had a purpose.

      His glory awaited him.

The rest of Londo's Bio can be read here: Londo's Biography

    • Personality: A chuuni at heart, Londo likes to up-play his awesome status. He made up a grand story about himself, a man who travels through time and space, being reincarnated at every turn and world!

Londo used to be a man of glory, but after being reincarnated, Londo lost all his memories, and needs to rely on Alice to confirm that everything he has made up about himself is actually true.

He is now a small annoying boy who acts very much like a chuuni, but has the power to back it up.

      Spirit Description:
      • Classification: Lesser Animal (D)
      • Subject: Strength
      • Method: Weapon

      • Personality: Born from a plethora of strong wishes to see the light again, it now wishes to protect that light. Although the spirit is 'young' as an artificial, it has a strong and clear desire to protect. This desire is shared with its owner. Other than that, it values efficiency and effectiveness. In line with the tool it is shaped as, this amounts to a very strong display of force, yet it is the kind of force that is precise and without any wasted movement. The former is also a way to characterize the spirit's outlook on life in general.

      • Biography:
Once upon a time, there was a group of goblins whom had set up their village near the infamous abandoned Old Terra mine of Melville, known for the extremely valuable ores that could be mined at extremely high risks. As these shiny metals attracted the goblins, they started mining them in earnest. However, it didn't take long for one of the 'smarter' goblins to realise it was far easier to make people mine these ores, rather than to mine them themselves. Soon enough, the goblins started to venture out towards the outskirts of any of the nearby villages. Capturing an adult human would be far too difficult, but their children were easy targets. The goblins also realised that capturing any children that wandered off too far from their respective villages would be much less likely to be searched for. They were probably written off as killed by wild animals, rather than suspected to be kidnapped. The leader of the goblins even realised that the weaker humans wouldn't be of much use in the mines, so they decided to kill them and leave them to be torn apart by wild animals. That way, the humans would only wonder why the animals surrounding their villages were so aggressive, rather than suspect goblin activity. Eventually, they were covering a very large area to systematically kidnap children from.

The plan worked well, with a lot of work being done in the mine. The goblins realised that it was extremely easy to keep these children. Simply guarding the entrance to the mine and never letting them out of it sufficed. The only light these children got were the few rays of light they could see when they went to the entrance to trade anything shiny for food. Those whom didn't manage to mine up enough to eat were out of luck, unless one of the other kids somehow managed to cover for them. The goblins didn't care, they just wanted their shiny metals. Eventually, one of the children snapped, creating a magic earthquake that caused the entire mine to collapse. The lucky ones died during this collapse. The unlucky ones survived it.

With the mine collapsed, the goblins decided to take their shiny metals and leave. They weren't interested in trying to dig everything up or in finding so many new kids to enslave. It'd be more effort than it was worth, now that they already had a lot of shiny metal. The remaining kids in the mines were left to die. Out of these, there was one kid whom was particularly strong, as he kept trying to convince himself and those around him that they'd manage to dig their way to the surface. This conviction was strengthened when they found an ancient artefact, some sort of odd pickaxe that could blast through rocks. The only problem was that it was clearly designed for an adult wearing a lot of protective gear, not for a half-starved child with only rags around his body. The boy stubbornly kept using it as rocks were flung around, sometimes hitting him and causing cuts and bruises to cover him. He didn't let it get to him. Surely, they'd be able to reach the surface soon.

With oxygen running low, and the kids having already been underfed, the only hope they had left was this boy with the pickaxe. They were too weak to try anything else. All their hope at surviving, at ever seeing the light again, lied with this one boy and the pickaxe he used. Eventually, only this hope remained, as they could feel nothing else, nor could they think about anything else. That's how they died, never to see the light again. However, their hope still lingered, being deeply engrained into the pickaxe that was the focus of their final hopes and dreams. Eventually, the pickaxe broke, but in its place there was now an Artificial spirit.

  • Biography:
The Magnhild family is one of proud architects and construction workers, claiming many great accomplishments in the rise of An Chéad Toshi: Uruk. Their philosophy of 'only design something you could build by your own labour' turned out to be surprisingly useful after the apocalypse. It traded fancy designs with straightforward utility and optimization of processes. The Magnhild family even worked on the Bastion and the Academy. Almeida was planning to head down the same path as her ancestors, but with the most impressive buildings already built, she needed to bring something entirely unique if she ever wanted to impress anyone. Simply maintaining what was already built or building by the same old recipes wouldn't do it. She kept up a work-ethic and divided her attention between though manual labour and challenging architectural designs, up to the age of 18, when she was old enough to be summoned for the army. Sadly enough, she hadn't been able to make the desired break-through. If anything, she had just slaved away with physical labour for most of her life, spending her rare free time on designs that nobody appreciated. It was why she first attempted to avoid being drafted, as she wanted to continue trying to achieve her goals, but it was to no avail. Her services to the city were deemed 'non-essential' and she was soon picked up to start training.

Her exemplar physique didn't make things easier, in fact, it made things worse. It sparked one of her superiors to become jealous, forcing her to do the most unreasonable tasks and putting her through even harsher training. If that wasn't enough, a second superior started to try making a move on her, an attempt she firmly rejected. This wasn't taken well, and another higher-up joined in on bending and abusing the rules just to bully her. It caused the next 6 months to be the most painful ones in her life, but the faint hope that she might eventually pick up her normal life again kept her going. She was still set on following in the footsteps of her ancestors. Having served her time, she returned home full of hope and renewed energy. This time, for sure, she'd make a breakthrough.

She didn't. Instead, she was confronted with the bitter reality of the family company having been bankrupted. They had been trying to keep up an air of old prestige while slowly getting deeper and deeper in debt. Almeida had never even noticed, not until the company had already perished during her absence. Nobody had wanted to inform her about it, so it came as a total shock. Worse, even, was that the family had lost most of their possessions in order to pay of debts, and were now living at a relatives place. It felt like she no longer even had a home to return too, and in an act of anger and frustration, Almeida went straight back to the army to sign up for another two years.

Although a lot of people were surprised to see her return, they were more than willing to have her return to active duty. After all, she was strong and capable. She picked up training where she left off, and was soon sent out on minor missions. Although the institutional bullying soon started all over again, she grit her teeth to bear it. She'd save up every single penny to earn enough to start up her own company. It didn't have to be big, but if she'd save up enough for just a start at something, she'd surely know how to make it bigger later on. Considering her army skills were the only other skills she had, it was the best way to obtain money to chase her dreams with.

Eventually, almost two years later, she was sent out on her first big operation; the recovery of a long-lost mine. She couldn't help herself from feeling excited about it, despite the fact that she had never desired joining the army. After all, the mine was famous for its valuable ores, which might be useful for her construction projects. It was also a mission that promised her a considerable compensation, a sum with which she might finally be able to say goodbye to her army days. Her excitement didn't last long. They had only just unpacked to set up a base-camp when they saw one of the scouts fire a red flare, followed by a red flare from the opposite side, and a red flare from the right... and one from the left. They had been lured into a trap and were surrounded.

Although there seemed to be no more than seven foes, these enemy humanoids in black (with crimson accents) were highly successful in using guerrilla tactics and ambushes to slowly wear them down. The next few days were like hell on earth, as they were slowly but steadily being wiped out. Their foes wielded an array of weapons, from short-swords, knives, and silenced handguns to some strange pointed weapon (like a knitting needle, but thicker and with a handle). Each time after killing one of Almeida's allies, they used the pointed weapons to pierce the necks of their victims for a few seconds before re-sheathing the weapon.

An attempt at a break-through by rushing trough was halted by the heavy casualties it took, as there seemed to be some sort of concealed enemy that was taking them out like flies the moment they tried to make a run for it. Almeida and the remainder of team were only given one more chance at survival: retreating into the mine itself, taking with them whomever was left alive and hoping for back-up to come. It wasn't likely, as their means of communication had been jammed during these past three days, and would probably continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

If seeing her fellow soldiers die in the daylight in all sorts of gruesome ways, hearing their death-screams echo through the dark tunnels was even worse. They were sounds she'd never be able to get out of her head ever again. Further and further were they driven into the mines, with less and less people left standing. Until... it was just her. By now, with surprise having ran out, having not seen daylight for a solid three days, being tired into mild insanity and with not the least bit of hope for the future left, Almeida finally dropped down. As she felt her life drain away, she gave up on her dreams of constructing something that would made her famous. It wouldn't happen anyway. She gave up on the idea that she'd be able to start her own company. She probably didn't have the talent after all. If anything, she didn't want her death to be here, deep in some forsaken mine. After five days of struggling to survive, she was ready to die. She just wished she could see the light for a final time.

That's when she saw the glimmer of some strange weapon in the distance. She didn't know what it was, or why it was, but something within her told her to use the last of her life-force to crawl towards it. The moment her hand grasped the handle of the odd weapon, she could hear a voice in her mind. “Let us go to see the light again.” ... “Yes.” How exactly she found her way back, where she got the renewed energy from, or what exactly happened to her was all a blur. She could only recall the fain voice of someone saying "They made a Bond. We're pulling out." Finally above ground again, exhausted and still confused, she stared at the sun until the world around her faded to black.

The next thing she knew, she was being taken away by a group of Spectres. Too weak to protest, she decided to let everything happening to her happen as it did. For now, she needed to rest and regain strength.

  • Personality: Almeida lost most of her own hopes and dreams long ago. In part, this left her bitter and broken. However, she doesn't let this get the better of her. Instead, it allowed her to embrace most of the new life as a 'magical girl' as she'd be called. Don't get things wrong, it doesn't mean that she's submissive. For one, she's not the best with how tiresome and obnoxious some children can be, and therefore dislikes being put in a program with such a varying age-range. To that extend, she strongly dislikes the fact that kids are made to fight altogether, even though she understands the need for it. She is caring and compassionate for as long as the subject of affection isn't a pain to deal with, and won't easily turn down an earnest plea for help. In turn, she can be brutal and relentless to those that deserve it, and cold and distant to those whom refuse to accept help. Either get onee-san'ed or get hammered. Whatever ends up happening during her time ahead is most likely to steer her more into a single direction.

          • Biography:
My small little world, the place I should be, mom told me.

When I was done with school I walked back home, and there as always was Mom. Sitting on the couch, she probably had my favorite channel on. I sometimes am about to call out to her, but I am a good girl, so I need to be quiet.

Softly opening my door, I walked inside and gently closed it. That is my day, before later in the evening I go about cleaning and cooking. Oh and of course heading of to sleep right on time! I got invited by my friends to come play at their home some time, but mom needs me so I always declined and was always on time.

After that I don’t remember a lot, mom starting acting a little strange I think, it gets a little hazy sometimes, I don’t remember a lot when I was at school or when I got home, but when I was in my room sometimes I would find my cute little book of drawings in a place where I didn’t put it.

The kind looking man in front of me nodded and gave me a piece of candy, but I he seemed to have a worried look. I wondered why he had such a sad face. He asked me how I have been finding it at the orphanage for the last year.

I haven’t been enjoying it too much, I find it a bit weird to have food made for me or to share a room with other people. I like the finger drawing that we do though, it is really enjoyable and I have made so many pretty ones, you should see them. Oh oh and it has got a beautiful yard where I can lay in the grass. It’s all soft and smells great when it was just cut.

I don’t really talk that often with the other kids, they seem to avoid me sometimes, especially the boys. I don’t know why it is a bit weird.

He then asked if I wanted to go home and see mom again.

Umm… I… I don’t know. I think I do, but I have this bad feeling whenever I think of mom. I want to see her… but I definitely miss home, I miss my comfortable bed and the plastic stars on my ceiling shining when I do the lights out.

He still had that sad face on when he told me it was good that we had this conversation and that we might see each other again. But I didn’t him again until I got told that a family whom had come by here before had decided to adopt me. Telling me that it was a lovely family. That my dad was the owner of a large company, a kind mom whom stayed home and two brothers.

I was helped pack up my things in about a month afterwards and when I arrived was welcomed in a weird way… It felt really.. umm like different and I was uncomfortable. They lived in a large beautiful house, and the entire place was with all kinds of forests and even a lake nearby. The place was full of weird decorations out of plastic. And they had made all sorts of things like a chocolate cake. It was confused, but even then I could feel them running down my cheeks.

After time passed I never really grew comfortable, it felt so weird, but I always loved walking through the forest nearby that they owned. Full of beautiful oak trees, funny insects and a little further in I found my favorite place. A small little pool of water, which was in a clearing of the trees.

Then… then I forget what happened, I remember I was walking through the forest… I only remember a surge of pain and waking up covered in blood with a shallow claw marks that had started to heal already and the whispers of spirits calling out to me. Calling out that they were coming. That day when I came back they worriedly asked me what had happened, but I had no answer and made sure I was alright and clean.

But when I lay in bed that night… I was anxious, I thought I heard something over and over again as I peered out from under my blanket and glanced through my window into the darkness as the thick foliage cut of the soft moonlight peering out from it. I grabbed onto my left arm and buried my face in my pillow as I turned over and found myself unable to breathe from the stress, tears falling down from my eyes and ran, ran until I no longer could, ran until my body collapsed. I could find myself unable to move almost as I in my haze I looked at the recognizable small pool of water decorated by rock and a soft moonlight reflecting off the water. With a blur I could only see the outline of a beautiful pink stag as it came close to me.

          • Personality: Lavi due to her past grew up with a sense of low self esteem and worry. Forcing herself to wear a sad smile on her face and a fake self confidence. She does not handle stress and may start to show if left out of her comfort zone. But to most people she is happy smile, hopeful little girl whom tries to repay any gratitude she feels.

Personality: A fairy with a size complex, Exceritus is a psychopathic hard ass who’s expansive military knowledge is often waved around in the face of Ozymandius. She has a vicious streak and is calculating, preferring to leave those who cannot keep up behind. Though she is partnered with Ozymandius as his spirit, she is usually the one running things, taking advantage of his meek and accepting personality to order him about and abuse him.

Biography: When Ozymandius met Exceritus, it was during a mental break. He wished for the power to defeat the monster that wiped out his squad, and in turn he was granted it. The power granted was more then enough to overpower the creature and turn it into a bullet riddled corpse. Afterwards, Exceritus turned to ordering about Ozymandius, taking full advantage of his change in personality to use and abuse him as she saw fit.

Description: A M1911 .45 ACP handgun. A simple firearm from a bygone age. Made of steel. Looks worn.

Biography:
Ozymandius was born and raised in Uruk. He grew up quite averagely, or about as average as it could get being in a post apocalyptic world overrun by gods, space lizards, and other monsters. He lived in a small farming community just outside the Bastion, raised by his mother and father as a proper young man. He was educated in the local community school for children, though he received no education during the harvest, and grew up fit and lean from chores done on his parent's farm. When he was eighteen, rather then wait to be conscripted when he was older, he chose to volunteer to get his military time out of the way early. During their basic training, he bonded well with his new squad, learning quite a bit about them. Jenkins, he was the quiet one, a bookworm, and the squad medic. Alfonse was the machinegunner, good behind the trigger and with muscles that looked like he spent most of his life in a gym instead of the forge. Lyra was another rifleman just like Oz, sharp as a tack and sharper with her gun. George liked his booze, but he was a good radioman. Then there was Red, he was tough as they came, an excellent squad leader with two years in the service already under his belt. An excellent person to follow into combat or out of it.

Over the next two years he learned the ins and outs of being a good soldier, more then what any basic training could teach him. Fending off monsters and other humans alike taught him a great deal, what it was like to be afraid, what it was like to see another human die, and what it was like to kill, what it was to be a leader. Within one year of his service he was promoted and charged with leading his own squad, a replacement for Red who had perished in the line of duty while defending the Bastion. The last day he was a normal soldier Ozymandius would never forget. It was a normal patrol, protecting the small communities beyond the bastion was dangerous work, but it had to be done by someone. It was simple, the squad would go out, check the village and the surrounding area for any signs of incursion. If there wasn't any they would return, otherwise they would attempt to take out the threat.

When they got to the village they didn't find any villagers. Alive that was of course. The whole population had been slaughtered. A hundred individuals dead, with no thought spared for age or gender. The signs weren't of bandits, the claw marks raked across them, rending flesh and spattering blood all over, they told a different story. A message was immediately sent back to their headquarters, a monster incursion, mage backup requested. They were told to sit tight and wait. They weren't alone though. Like a flash a six foot tall sickly pale humanoid creature with six legs and two arms skittered out of one of the houses, screeching like a banshee and running straight for Lyra. It's feet ended in two pronged talons, razor sharp and made like meat hooks. Their bullets did nothing to it, the six legs and gaping maw of razor sharp teeth easily caught her as she tried to make a run for it. The thing ripped her torso clean from her body and tossed the separated halves aside like wet tissue paper. Next was Alfonse as he tried to get some more distance between it and him. As he fired it opened it's mouth and spit a black mass of grease right into his eyes, which sizzled and burned as it hit his skin, causing the man to scream in agony as he fell. A swift blow to the head from the thing's talons ended his suffering. Ozymandius fired round after round after round into the thing, praying, hoping that he could end the thing somehow. His prayers did nothing as it ripped through every member of his squad. Jenkins, George, and the new guy Afton. In the last moment it seemed like his prayers were answered as a small child, dressed in a military uniform of unknown origin, appeared in front of him. Her sadistic smile was all he could focus on in that instant as all around him others soldiers appeared dressed in similarly strange gear and shooting the creature. This time they were rewarded with spurts of purple metallic colored blood. The creature screeched as it was cut down, and Ozymandius fell to his knees, feeling drained.

Afterwards all was explained. He was informed by the small child that he was in fact, a mage. That his magic had lain dormant all this time and that the traumatic sight of watching his squadmates die had triggered the response needed to both break down the barrier between him and his powers, and summon her to manifest them into the summoned soldiers that had put down the creature. It didn't take long for reinforcements to arrive after that. The rest of the platoon soon arrived and secured the area, along with a couple of mages, who were surprised to find that Ozymandius had killed the creature. It did not take long after that for the spectre to appear and then take Ozymandius away to the academy. He didn't fight them, still reeling from the loss of his squad. Now, exactly thirteen days later, he prepares to take the next steps into the adventure that is his life.

Personality:
A quiet and haunted individual, Ozymandius prefers to remain in the company of others whenever possible, as it prevents him from being left to his own thoughts and devices. Where he was previously strong willed and brash, he is now meek and hesitant, unsure of himself and his own decisions. If given the choice, he will choose to follow rather then lead.

Eldricht invocations from beyond the cosmos. An ancient power that dwells from within the darkest depths of it's user's mind. The forbidden lore is not meant for mortals and a simple misstep can be a gateway to madness or worse. The more the power is used the more it's users is drawn towards the Dreamlands, alternative dimensions of eldritch pandemonium. True chaos in it's deepest meaning.

          • - Description:
Elisa makes a gesture of pendulum in her hand and thus the reality around her cracks. An invisible crack forms, reflecting like mirror and playing the role of a thread in the pendulum. However there is nothing in the bottom of the thread despite of the expectations. Regardless the target is given a vague memory of their ideal self. He or she learns an idea of how to recollect the obscure knowledge of eldritch origins. This memory is like sand in a broken time glass. Should you ponder too long, it's gone. Truly an ephemeral memory of the future, that allows the target to draw out their best potential in any task at hand.

            - Effect: At the beginning of any phase or at the end of their turn: Target must choose an attribute. This attribute gets a normal buff boost of +2 levels. This boost lasts for 3 phases.

          • - Description: A charm of self-sacrifice in which Elisa fractures her own aura in order to forcefully manipulate the magic of others and in doing so causes their own magic to betray the caster. This act poses a risk as it tears away her aura and may even endanger her life to the destructive nature of the spell.

            - Effect: If Elisa or any of her illusions would get hit by a spell during the phase that [Aura Reflection] is used, Elisa may attempt to reflect it back to it's caster. Any non-AoE spell of which base-value output does not exceed 30 is reflected back at it's caster. (As if the caster had cast the spell targeting itself with the original intent of the spell.)

The original target hit by the spell will still suffer the effect of the spell, reflection happens after resolving the effect of the spell.

[Civilian Rank: A] Vestiges of Carcosa (*SPELL*)
              • - Description: Elisa's mind is no longer pure. And the memories of her strange dream are deep rooted. Her long visit to the great halls of Carcosa and Dreamlands forever altered her existence. It is within the darkest corners of her mind, where the source to her great power springs. The only price for drawing magic from directly from the source is her sanity as even glimpses of the outer worlds reaves the comprehension to understand reality.

                - Effect: Passive: When Unleashing a cantrip, all cantrip slots have the following secondary option for Unleash: +10 Prana, gain Delirium status effect; that may be chosen as a replacement effect.

Should Elisa suffers from the negative effects of Delirium status effect, then she must always choose this secondary option for Unleash. this negative part remains active even, if Vestiges of Carcosa would be burned away by an Elder Spell unleash effect. After resolving this unleash effect, she triggers the Delirium Stamina loss effect immediately.

Delirium status effect. Mental interference. Whenever the user would recover stamina, they lose 5 stamina for each stack of Delirium instead. Cantrips utilizing mindslot are disabled until the effect ends. Taking a standby action dispels one stack of the Delirium status effect at the end of the action. Delirium effects stack. Duration starts at 3 phases and a new stack refreshes the duration.

                - Unleash: +15 Prana, Elisa gains Delirium status effect, followed by; trigger Delirium Stamina loss effect immediately.

              [Blessing] The Chosen Dreamer (*BLESSING*)
              • - Description:
A skyscraper made of glass and mirrors could've said to been one of the wonders of the new world. If only it had lasted. There was an explosion, so loud that it quaked it's very foundations. Soon after, the massive spire of glass collapsed under it's own weight. Victims were in thousands. All trapped underneath the broken colossus, never to be seen again. It was a great tragedy of that time. The innocent lives that it had claimed had nothing to do with the cause of it. Yet fate was a cruel mistress. There was one girl. Chocked by the chains of causality, sealing her fate forever. For every time she was born, this was to be her destiny, always, unchanging. To be there. To die there.

Still, it was her destiny. That no matter what actions she could take in her life, she would always find herself on the top of that building. And when she was there, the building would collapse. Followed by tragic loss of life. This coincidence, in the machinations of the old gods, this made her the irrefutable source of this tragedy and of this ritual. The victims of the disaster were her offering to this cosmic pantheon. For them, she was the blessed dreamer. Destined to die, always accompanied, always by a thousand sacrifice; impaled and skewered by a thousand broken mirrors. An event that beckoned upon the eldritch horrors living in the depths of the void, summoned the one who dwells behind the reflection of a mirror. This was a reason for a festival of chaos. An insignificant human that would prove it's worth over and over again. Undeniably, every time the sum of all of her actions in life -- converging to this ultimate gift. This was the cosmic destiny of Elisa. To be surrounded by broken mirrors while a thousand victims were sacrificed for her right to exist in the cosmos.

Thus the site of great tragedy and horror, became the loving bed for Elisa for her to slumber for an eternity. She would be trapped. To be lost in time and space until the blessed dreamer would finally awaken... What was decades for humans, was much much more for her. A prison that she cannot fathom to remember.

And when she eventually did wake up. Things were not the way they used to be. For she was the witness to a macabre feast in the great halls of Carcosa, and had wandered for eons without any destination in the dreamlands. All of this had changed her irrevocably. For the eldritch hosts and her protégé, it did not matter who she was linearly in the limited Euclidean perception of humanity. The only thing that mattered was their perspective; that she had "appeared" before them and that she would always appear before them. For them there was no hesitation, no accident, no disaster. Only unity in an otherwise chaotic and insignificant timeline. Thus when the time came for her wake up; she was one, and at the same time she was the shattered sum of many. The many of her past selves from alternative timelines.

Her fragile mind was no more. Broken to be willing to accept the wisdom of the eldritch beings. Her mind had opened to the possibility, that not even reality is a shackle. Rather merely an inconvenience. The doors to wild magic were now wide open for her, should she ever seize the opportunity.

When Elisa transforms, the gift from her protégé manifests. Thin cracks in her skin suddenly burst open shattering her body into a void. While she evaporates from reality the parts that she had lost will spontaneously reappear from nothingness. This is only to serve as additional fuel for this endless cycle. The jagged lines where her body fades into nothingness, appears to be made out of a crystalline material, reflecting light like silver. This process of blinking through shattering is completely erratic and random. However it does not appear to affect her at all. Even if her body was missing it's torso, it would still behave like a human with a torso. Or head with eyes, she can still see like it was nothing. Her transformation simply isn't Euclidean representation of a human. Her constantly shattering and reconstituting body behaves completely normal to that of a human. She does not lose balance when her legs were absent, rather she would simply appear to levitate until her legs would reappear. Objects would however harmlessly phase through her missing parts.

                - Effect: Transformation : Damage taken reduced by 50% and unlocks use of [Wild Magic : Mythos] which provides Elder Spells. The progression in [Wild Magic : Mythos] unlocks 2 additional memory slots for cantrips for each rank.

Elder Spell acts like a spell cast under spirit-bond with given value of the rank and availability of rank is associated with [Wild Magic : Mythos] when determining the highest rank of castable spells. Each cast of Elder Spells burns one Cantrip slot which is regained after sleep. Caster may go negative on Cantrip Slots but will fall asleep afterwards until ALL SLOTS are recovered. For each rank above rank E casts of Elder Spell, an additional cantrip is burned.

In combat, sleeping recovers burned Cantrip slots by one slot per phase of sleep. If a high rank Cantrip has one or more slots that are reserved by a Elder Spell it cannot be used until all slots allocated to it are regained.

Grants each Cantrip an added '5 value' X Slot "Unleash" effect as a passive that activates when burned by an Elder Spell.

This "Unleash" effect may also have a cost associated to it but total value cannot be higher than '15' value X Rank. If there is no "Unleash" effect on the given cantrip slot (empty or negative), user recovers 5 prana.

As limitations Elisa has the following disadvantages:
                • Dealing Damage is reduced by 50%.
                • Recovering Aura is reduced by 50%.
                • Cannot use regular [Equipment] while transformed.

        • Biography:
My name is Elisa. You could say I was your ordinary girl. Except I would come to learn that there was nothing ordinary about me. I was born into a world that had survived an apocalypse. It was a new era, an era of rebuilding. I was once it's elite. Dad's little girl, almost pampered to death. When the construction for Prism was finished, the largest skyscraper of that time and a symbol of new hope... My time had come. I don't know what happened. All I can say is about the strongest memories I have of that time when it all happened. When things went wrong. Horribly wrong. Why it happened, I cannot tell you. I can only tell what I remember.

At first it felt a bit strange. A sound I had never heard before. It was supposed to be my birthday gift. To be the princess on top of the highest floor of the tallest building. I enjoyed playing with the thought that, I was now standing above all humanity and the clouds were my domain. From top of my tower of glass and mirrors, the mega-structure gathered all the rays of light to cast a rainbow over the horizon. It was ... beautiful. If only it had lasted. Following shortly after the sound, there was a reverberating shock; quake; tremble under my feet. At first I wondered what it was. But then the twisting begun. Slow at first. Until I realized that the once proud tower was in descent. My tower was to collapse, inevitably. I cried and screamed helplessly for my pitiful life. My dreams died inside me like the furniture that shattered around me. The walls closed in. The floor closed in. The ceiling closed in.

I felt something. My body had done something that it had never done before. It was dark. There were almost no light. Only a few weak rays were cast from above. And I was surrounded by glass and mirrors. Was I even still alive? I must've been because I could still see. Yet it appeared like I was outside my body, staring at myself through those mirrors and reflections. I slowly realized that my body... My body was punctured. Torn. By mirrors. By glass. There was blood. Blood everywhere. But I couldn't scream. I only watched. Quietly. It was like water that dragged me towards unconsciousness. Dark cold water, chilling my very essence and being. It was then where I saw it, my protégé. My main host into my journey beyond reality and rationality. The bed that had impaled my body was transforming, splinters became tendrils and tentacles, and they moved my body... I was laid carefully on top of a shattered mirror. I followed as it happened, like I was an observer from elsewhere, not myself. Yet when I opened my eyes, I was there, lying.

That feeling, you know during the winter, when you go ice skating on a lake and the ice is still thin. That loud creaking melody that comes when the ice cracks underneath your skates and echoes far and wide. I could hear it now. It came from underneath me. And like an instinct I tensed up. Which was a mistake. The mirror underneath me shattered, apropos to a frozen lake and I was dragged under the surface. I tried to swim my way back up, using all my might and strength but the mirror above me was solid again. It was like I was trapped under ice, diving in a lake, drowning...

Except I was not drowning. I was dreaming. Descending deeper and deeper, until it did not matter that I could not breathe. It was cold and the pressure was crushing. The worse my duress was, the stronger the pressure. Eventually it drove me insane. My senses shattered under the depths and my mind blended with others. Others like me, alternative me's. From alternative timelines. I knew that I was truly shackled by destiny. This was my prison and this was the end of my life... Lives.

I do not have a memory of how long this harrowing experience lasted. Could've been minutes. Could've been hours, days, months, years, decades... It was here where I lost my ability to recall events of this wonderland of madness in a chronological order. Only flashbacks... Of events... That happened. That I did.

This aftermath of the tragedy that had happened, revealed to me that what had happened would always happen. I was the cursed one that would damn all those poor souls to death, to oblivion. The tragic fate that awaited them was far worse than death. In celebration of what my existence had realized, the eldritch horrors of cosmos reveled the sacrificial offering with a festival of madness. My protégé introduced me to their world. And in the great halls of Carcosa, I would learn about the heavy toll of my destiny. I... I was invited over as the guest of honors, and all those poor souls that had lost their lives in any of the alternative timelines. (Which there were many of). Had the honors of becoming the feast in this macabre festival.

In the end, it did not matter who they were. It did not matter what they had done. Most suffered a fate worse than hell. There were no happy ends, no mercy, not for any of them. Some begged. Some didn't. It did not matter anymore. Some begged salvation from me for which I was to learn the horrors of that mistake. My hosts were very strict in demonstrating that I was above that petty rabble, and their role was simply to be the lamb for slaughter. For those poor people, I was no savior. I became their worst fear. It saddens me that they became to fear me like they feared my cosmic hosts. I don't know if I did something so repulsive, that it was against all human nature. I used to be the frail girl that would faint from the visage of seeing even one droplet of blood. Yet, inside the great halls of Carcosa it was my wine. Those memories disgusts me and make me wonder, did I do something worse, far worse, and simply had forgotten about it?

In my cosmic slumber, I learned more and more about their world, about the endless expanse of the dreamlands; great halls of Carcosa and many, many other locations. I became accustomed to this surreal reality. I felt like this was where I belonged at. This world was slowly making perfect sense to me. My thirst to learn more about these worlds grew larger. I know that I learned about many things, many things which were taught to me by my hosts... Yet I cannot remember one thing that they taught me. At least not since...

Lying on the cold floor on top of a mirror, I learned that all dreams must disappear when the dreamer wakes. Every last one of them. As I opened my eyes, I was back to where I had start.

          ~

  • Biography:
Ryan is the son of a couple of bounty hunters/explorers, which forcibly had to change their lifestyle once he came to their world. They got a permanent residence in a cabin near a village on the outskirts of Uruk. As for earning the bread, they took turns to work and look out for Ryan, taking days and even weeks at times. They homeschooled Ryan, taught in the way of their craft plus the regular school subjects rather impressively. This meant Ryan barely had interactions with the world, other than the occasional errand to the village, but barely no interaction with kids at all. It was an intentional attempt of his parents to teach him to not depend on anyone. As a natural introvert, however, Ryan didn't mind having no friends. The outdoors was more than enough entertainment for him. Be it practice his martial arts, climbing trees, or swimming in a nearby river.
One day, Ryan was hiking along the shore of the river, when a voice started calling to him. The voice seemed to come from a pretty rock slightly sinked under the clear waters under the river. Upon inspecting it, and with the voice confirming it, Ryan realized he was holding a spirit core. Ryan was hesitant of the intentions of the spirit, especially once it revealed his true form, but the spirit was rather patient and understanding. Ryan was eventually convinced of the spirit's good will and opened up to him. Some days passed and all Ryan did was talk to the spirit, whose name was Tidrog, who also started to teach him some things. This peace didn't last long, as one day, Ryan's house was attacked by a monster.
His father, which was the one on the house at the moment other than Ryan, was taken by surprise and cornered. Ryan was horrified, he was about to see his father get killed, only for him to be next. In an act of desperation, Ryan rushed towards the monster. The thoughts of Ryan reached Tidrog, who offered to bond with him and this, lend him his strength. Ryan didn't hesitate to accept. What happened next still confuses Ryan whenever he thinks about it. Everything went greyscale, and for the shortest of moments, the monster froze... Or at least that's what Ryan thought he saw. Not that it mattered, as the moment passed and he attacked the monster, he barely did anything to it. But it was a good enough distraction for Ryan's father to recover and kill the invader. On the middle of comforting his son after what he had just experienced, the Specters knocked on their door, ready to take Ryan. Ryan already knew what that meant, so, in an attempt to make his father see how much he had grown, he went along without struggling, packing everything he needed. Once ready, he gave his father a big hug, telling him "Love you, Dad... and Mom too." then quickly turning around and entering the car, in order to not let his father see the tears welled up in his eyes.
  • Personality: Ryan is a bit of an introvert, properly communicating with other people is a very demanding task for him. However, time has shown that he eventually overcomes that difficulty with people and leaves the quiet and distant facade. Due to his good upbringing, and despite not having any friends growing up, he is mostly a nice person. Kind, yet occasionally selfish. Clever, yet unable to take a hint. Curious, yet naive.

Personality: Drafi is occasionally communicative, with an emphasis on occasionally. His language is simple to the extreme, undeveloped even, and only two things concern him: danger and opportunity. Danger is to be avoided, or, if that's not possible, to be obsessively prepared for. Opportunity is to be seized with great immediacy; there is no second-guessing for Drafi. Animalistic instinct, brought on by his origins, gives him a savage audacity in everything. To some, this can be annoying. To Suilen though? This is refreshing. Because beneath the predatorial veneer is the desire to exercise every bit of freedom that Drafi's 'origin' was denied.

Background: They all desired freedom, every one of them. Captured, caged, made to perform for the delight of the crowd. Great beasts brought low, their inherited instincts left to rot. Fresh meat was so close to them, separated by iron bars, and yet, they dined on processed flesh instead, no blood glistening from a still-beating heart, no struggle between predator and prey. Those that stood and gawked wanted them only to languish within their prison, nothing else. Their wings were unfettered, but iron blocked off the sky.

From their desires, Drafi was born. It didn't matter who. It didn't matter how. All he had wanted was out. But he understood too, intuitively, that he could not survive alone. His wings were too small, his body a mere fledgling. Desperate as he was, he reached out for any who would take his Pact, and fortunate as he was, he found a fledgling desiring the same.

She too, wanted out. From suffocation, from paralyzation.

And from that point, everything began to change.

Appearance: Standing at a meager 2'3, Drafi appears to be an owl, though lacking in wings large enough to sustain him in flight. His plumage is of a glistening black, and his eyes are an unerring gray. Though definitively cute, there is nevertheless a strange, predatorial air around him, especially when he folds his arms and simply stares. Maybe he's mad. Maybe he's just disappointed. It's always hard to tell though, when his face is expressionless, his eyes emotionless.

Description: A short spear with a hefty head, the base of which is affixed with the Spirit Core. Two wings extend outwards from the base of the spearhead as well, creating a crossguard to push pierced enemies away with.

All it took was a single moment to change a life.

Before the accident, Suilen Zelks was a happy brat, giggling about stupid things, being charmingly selfish, and generally getting up to no good, to the bemused chagrin of her two parents. She was healthy as can be, with chubby cheeks and a propensity for eating lots as she ran through streets with such disregard for personal safety that her parents lost a couple pounds between the two of them, chasing after Suilen and swooping her up into the air before she stepped into traffic.

They were successful every time and invested in a leash after it became clear that Suilen, a four year old with boundless energy, thought herself as invincible.

It wasn’t a traffic accident that changed her life. It was simply a slip on a linoleum floor, recently mopped. One moment she was hopping off a chair, and in the next, her feet were flying up, her body flying down.

Crack.

Funny, how easy a spine was to damage, that the edge of a chair was enough to render permanent damage. The doctor was sympathetic, but the costs of military grade healing magic, capable of reconstructing one’s spine and restoring functionality to the lower half of their body, was far beyond what a citizen could afford. Even if her parents sold their house, used up their savings, and took on as many loans as their credit score could afford, it wouldn’t be enough. Suilen would be wheelchair bound for the rest of her life.

Years went by.

Suilen lived as she could. She didn’t remember much of the early years of her childhood, but she didn’t need to, not when her father would have a couple of drinks and then lament about his failures. He’d sob snotty tears all over the place, crying on her shoulder and wishing he had been better than he was. Her mother dealt with it differently, more ferocious than ever in her protective nature. Only the best schools in Uruk would do, only the most accessible ones. And if anyone even unintentionally discriminated against her baby bird? She would go straight to the PTA and launch a bloody war.

They were loving. They were suffocating. And no matter how far Suilen wanted to go alone, they would always shadow her steps, pushing her along the way.

She was an understanding child though. She knew that this was better than what most others got. So Suilen sucked it up and dealt with it, repressing every ugly thought, every vicious emotion in her mind.

It was on a school trip to the zoo that she met a kindred Spirit, and without hesitation, Suilen reached out. Her parents were at work, her teacher wasn’t looking, and in a single, brilliant moment, a bird wove itself out of a single strand of hair and flew up to the sky.

The Specters came to take her away soon after, and Suilen, an obsidian owl perched on the armrest of her chair, complied without resistance, without hesitation.

To some, mandatory service as a Mage was inhumane, but for her?

It gave her freedom, and it gave back her legs.

Once she walked again, neither of her parents had it in them to fight against the administration that granted them something they could never grant themselves.
Personality: Suilen is curious, her head up in the clouds as she marvels at everything around her. The novelty of self-propelled motion has not yet disappeared, and she seeks to enjoy her freedom of movement as much as she can. Physical activity makes her happy, even when, kindly put, she's weak as hell, and her sense of adventure extends to the food she eats too: snobby as it may seem, Suilen is obsessed with 'composing bites', trying out different combinations of foods and condiments and spices in a single bite to create the ultimate flavour bomb. In a way, however, she can also be seen as selfish and headstrong. Years have gone by with her compromising on everything, letting everyone else do as they wished, and now that she can move? Now that she isn't constantly coddled by those around her?

Puberty may be ending, but teenage rebellion has just begun.

Appearance: 5'1 and a scant 87 lbs, Suilen is underweight and is making up for it as best as she can. Her limbs are twig-like, her face is babyish, and her skin's dehydrated, but she still believes in getting a second wind for her growth spurt. While her hair has always been long, when Transformed, it becomes a gravity-defying mass of blue that becomes almost intangible at the tips. Some say that the devil resides in the witchs' hair, but for Suilen, it's more like a zoo does.

She was awoken suddenly when Hibiscus tripped into the bushes, cutting herself on the thorns and bleeding onto Lyka's spirit core.

Hibiscus's father and mother were mages, but her father was injured during a mission. This mission also held the dangerous risk that caused her father to lose his magic.

Shortly after the mission, Hibiscus's father married, and the two had a child. For some reason, Hibiscus inherited her father's injury, and now has a weak constitution. But fortunately, she also inherited her mother's magical talent.

Because of this, while Hibiscus is weak physically, mentally her magic is leagues above others'. Her weak constitution was outweighed by her magical abilities, and one day met Lyka, who was able to fully awaken them. Since then, Hibiscus had been taken from her home, and was sent to a school to formally learn how to be a mage, and actually participate in the battles so less people could die.

            - Prerequisites:
            • None
          • - Limitations:
            • Honestly Charles can cancel this spell at any time, since he is in control of it. If he feels that Henri will push himself too much, then he immediately cancels it so that his Prana doesn’t drain. This annoys him to no end but he wants him to learn how to pace himself rather than just fight in and die without a thought to everyone around him.
          [*][*][*][*][*]

      • Personality: Charles is quite regal in mannerisms and words, using large words often and just trying to teach Henri how to move forward in life. Having been a king before he died, he often takes note of everything around him as a spirit possessing a sword, especially concerning politics and the military. He’s quite into learning and loves to learn new things, no matter how cruel or unusual it may seem. He is very understanding, knowing full well of the evils within the world and tries to understand why things happen the way they are, why people get hurt, why there’s suffering. Despite having lived for so long, he can be very tired at times and just wants to sleep forever, but he knows he can’t. Not when he feels like he needs to help more. His relationship with Henri is that of good friends, the two of them bantering and arguing like any good friend. Henri loves to tease Charles by nicknaming him and just trying to ship him with every sword in existence despite the fact that no other sword he’s met has a spirit within, much to his annoyance and chagrin. Charles, in turn, likes to poke at the fact he can miss simple things like the color of a building when he’s staring at it, or when he misses a spot in cleaning when cleaning the house to push himself. Of course he gets annoyed and tosses the sword, causing him to laugh. Still, they love each other dearly and will hurt immensely if either of them are suddenly parted without a warning.

      • Biography: Honestly Charles met Henri when he was rather young, a few days before he turned 13. He just inhabited the sword that was meant to be his birthday gift and called out to him. The boy then found it and began talking to it, ecstatic with a talking sword. His sibling was not happy when he was found with the sword before Henri insisted he keep the friend he made. The twin just sighed in exasperation before relenting and the two have been together ever since.

      • Appearance: Honestly he’s the sword itself, but the spirit itself takes the form of a young man with black and white hair, blue eyes, and a constant smile on his face, whether that smile is hiding something or is genuine depends on his mood and annoyance level. His clothes are mainly armor with a blue tunic and dark blue pants.

  • Biography:

Honestly Henri doesn’t remember much of his parents. At least, not good memories at least. All he knew was that his twin took everything for him...while they both suffered. He knew pain and hunger but honestly he just hated being useless since his stupid leg wouldn’t allow him to even move around all that much. Utterly twisted...like him, they told him. He hated it. Eventually his twin couldn’t take it anymore and carried him on his back to somewhere else, far, far away from their parents. They began to live on their own with his twin providing for him, mainly stealing he knew though his twin would deny it, while he stayed in the house with his lame leg unable to walk.

He honestly hated it, he was so lonely every day and he wanted to be with his brother but noooo he was always going out to make sure he would be able to eat something that day. And he knew his twin was starving and yet didn’t eat...he hated this, he hated everything, just let him disappear one day and maybe then his brother would be happy. He kept praying that as he stared out the window of their makeshift home every day, just resting his body while his leg wouldn’t let him do anything. Forcing himself to walk, every day, he would try to do chores around the makeshift house without his brother’s notice. A broom his brother found at one point was used to sweep every inch of the house while he struggled to move until he knew his brother would come back, instinct driving him to hide the broom as best as he could before he came, a cloth to clean the sword his brother would use at times and just polish it until it shined, the cloth used again to polish the windows, he worked to force himself to use his lame leg...yet it never truly fixed anything. He wanted it fixed, how was he going to fix it? God he didn’t know…

A few days before his 13th birthday of living this kind of existence, he met Charles, the sword calling out to him and its spirit taking hold of the sword as he befriended the being. Of course his brother was not happy he found his birthday present early but he let him have his new “friend,” able to hear the sword’s words. They talked until the sword pointed out he could possibly use magic to heal his leg. Curious, the boy kept asking, only to get dodging answers. He just hissed in frustration before throwing the sword to the side, onto the other side of the room. Then he felt bad and tried to walk, only for his lame leg to get in the way. Growling in frustration, his magic manifested with a cantrip to help him walk, making him move seamlessly despite the fact the leg was still the same. He was that ecstatic finding this out and laughed as he took Charles in his arms and hugged the sword, despite the screeching the other was doing for holding a sword improperly.

On his 13th birthday, the Specters came for him. They gestured for him to leave but his twin began to attack, somehow his own magic manifesting. He could only stare wide eyed as the Specters continued to gesture, nearly pinning the other and weaker boy down before he cried out. “We’ll go with you peacefully, okay? Don’t hurt us and don’t hurt my sibling anymore!” he begged, despite his twin’s protests. They could only nod as they gathered what little they had and came quietly, his new magic helping him move seamlessly as if he were walking normally. With that, both twins started their new life in the military, unsure where their life will be taken next.

  • Personality:

Henri can be pretty sunshiny at times or pretty depressing, it depends honestly. For sunshiny, he’s very innocent at times and can see the good in simple things, the color of the sunlight on glass reflecting off of the windows, the rough texture of sand granules as its swept up by his broom, the sound of people walking by his window and chattering as he took note of their tones and inflections to make music in his head, all that and more and he loves the fact he can take note of all those things. Just simple things in life, how wonderful! But even then, life is hard and he knows it, waiting for his brother to come back while he remained alone most of the time with nothing but the house itself for company, as well as the things he entertained himself with, like his imagination. He can get incredibly lonely very easily and it often results in him clinging to his brother when he comes back, just trembling without being able to speak because the loneliness was that bad to him. Still, he doesn’t care that his brother has to go out, knowing he has to do it so that both of them can survive...he just wants to be cuddled and held more when he’s not there...

As for the depressing bit, he views himself as completely useless, what with his lame and twisted leg and all. Just the fact he can’t really move without forcing himself to, and even then he is in pain every time he moves...and he hates it. He can handle that pain and hunger just fine, he just can’t stand being alone. But what good is he if he can’t do anything right? Even just cooking and cleaning for himself...it seems like he can never do anything right. Completely useless and he hates himself so much for it. People can do things better than he can, why can’t he? It frustrates him that much he’s not as good as the people he’s seen and he just wants to go to somewhere his brother can’t find him and just...well, he doesn’t want to say, but he has nowhere to run or hide, so he can’t do anything. Just...what can he even do…? He doesn’t know, even if he can do the basics for reading, writing, and math, something his brother taught him and he picked up quickly since he was that bored and just...wanting to learn. Learning can be fun, and he needs something to do.

Honestly, while he is useless, he does like the fact he picks things up quickly. And he also admires his brother for his intelligence, he just wishes he had a bigger role to play in the world. Just...intelligence in general, that’s super nice. ...And...um...his newly developed teenage body is really liking it DON’T TELL ANYONE. Just...being smart is so, so nice. And just thinking about theories and the like, hoooo! While his body is not too good, his mind is just fine and he can use it to a terrifying effect if he wants to. He knows how to pick and choose his words carefully if he so desires and just...chew out a person if he’s that mad. So far it hasn’t happened but he thinks he knows his capabilities. If anything, he just wants to show off how smart he can be, god make him a student, he would love to learn and just show his intelligence. Even then, he does love being himself, which can be silly at times, or depressing and sarcastic, or just mischievous, he loves those aspects because that’s what makes him the person he is and he doesn’t want it to change. Not his personality...but definitely his body...

  • Biography: Rainer grew up in the East-most part of Uruk with his family. The Gottwaldt family used to possess some level of prestige, for the most part at least. Over time, they branched off into multiple smaller families in Uruk and the Gottwaldt lineage got more and more muddied as the years passed. In modern day, the main family has long dispersed and the few families that still exist aren’t particularly famous or well known.

One of the main reasons for the Gottwaldt families’ decline was heavily involved in the worship of Atziri, the Demon of Progress and Corruption. The Demon had arrived in the Gottwaldt families greatest time of need around 50 years after the apocalypse and had been worshipped ever since. Unfortunately, as time passed and the Gottwaldt family found its footing and started to come to a realization that they should follow suit of Humanity as a whole, they started to worship Atziri less and less.

As time went on, Atziri became outraged. All those weak spirits and Gods were getting worshipped by the humans, but she? A powerful and Almighty Demon, such as herself was not getting worshipped, instead steadily more and more ignored? It was time to do that. How did they used to call it? Ah, yes. Divine punishment.

Atziri started to Curse the Gottwaldt’s family members one after another. Many left the main family because of this and branched off to other parts of the city, some even went as far as the country. The Curses Atziri put upon the members of the were powerful. Even Major Gods would most likely have a difficult time removing them. Not to mention, even if they were removed, some of the curses affected the bodies of the people to such an extent that it didn’t matter, if there was a curse or not at that point.

Much to Atziri’s surprise, no one was still worshipping her. In fact, the humans were worshipping Gods even harder, until eventually no one worshipped her from the Gottwaldt family line. Some were too afraid to even speak her name out of fear of harbouring her attention.

She was not a demon easily appeased though. For this “betrayal”, she swore to curse the Gottwaldt family until they disappeared off the face of the planet. Cursing every member of the family, even newborns. Once all of the Gottwaldt family was Cursed, Atziri was never heard of again. Her curses however remained powerful and potent even now.

A few months after Gottwaldt’s birth, Atziri had, of course, cursed him as well. Not much is known about the details of the curse, unfortunately.

Growing up Rainer, as most of the children of the Gottwaldt family were mostly ignored. The only thing the Gottwaldt family cared for, in general, was worshipping the Deities of Uruk, so that was the only thing forced upon the children. The family tried to keep to themselves as much as possible, in order to not incur the wrath of anyone or anything and lived in more or less seclusion of everyone, as much as they could, for the past 40 years or so.

Rainer growing up, despite his family's devout religiousness, had the need, the urge to pray to Atziri. He didn’t fully understand it himself, but he was drawn to it, hence after his family’s daily praying to all the Major Uruk Gods, he prayed to the true Deity that he believed in. Every day, without fail, he made sure to worship Atziri.

He was quite the animal lover, throughout his childhood. Nothing excited him more than finding a stray cat or a bird near his house. He expressed his love for the animal kingdom in a weird way for sure.. By oftentime torturing, poisoning and killing the animals, but it’s the thought that counts and he made sure to express himself to his animal friends whenever he had the chance.

While he didn’t have any friends or people that he could talk too, he did have a single small plant in his room, he watered it, whenever it dried up too much and made sure to express his love for it, by always finding it some sunlight to be in, however hard it was, living in the shadows of larger buildings all around him.

However, as time passed and their family continued being shut-ins, even getting something like water proved harder and harder for Rainer. Especially since his parents became stricter and stricter about him leaving the house. He couldn’t play with his animals and his only friend was dying, so he took it upon himself to save it.

Rainer slit his wrist and poured blood on the plant…

  • Biography:
    Mis
lyte was the youngest of 4 children. The early years were nice enough. Reasonably big house within city limits. Father was a successful merchant in the city. Mother, now a stay at home woman that ensured the kids were taken care of. However, the early years were short and all but forgotten. Mother became ill with a lingering disease. Father took time off work to look after her and raise the kids for several years. The family income dwindled with growing health debt and failing family business. The once nice home had become shoddy, and the caring and dedicated parents were now listless. One day, mother disappeared and it was not long after that father disappeared as well. At least Father left a note that he would be going to look for mother. However, none returned and the children who were all in their teens or older were forced to fend for themselves.

The eldest hardly ever came home and was suspected of dealing in illicit activities. The 2nd disappeared with dreams of becoming an actor or other famous entertainer. The last to leave and has yet to return joined the military. The dreary house had become an empty house. In his isolation and not yet sure what he should do with himself, he met and formed a pact with Split. Both of his parents had magical talents, so it was unsurprising he did as well, but in his frustration to be going through this situation alone, he lashed out at no one and everyone at once. As a result, the run down house shuddered a moment and then a portion of the building slid from its base to the ground as if sliced at an angle by a massive blade.

Mislyte had no where else to go and nothing better to do when the Specters came for him. He occampanied them to the academy and only looked back as his severely damaged home once...

Personality: Mesmeri laments, for the blood that will one day be spilled, for the blood that has already been spoiled. Born of loss, she wishes for the happiness and longevity of all things, but in the end, knows that the world is built upon violence and domination. It tears her apart; she's too fragile for such cruelty, and yet, there is determination there too. Perhaps some could be spared. Perhaps some could be convinced to stop. In a world of magic and Gods, of aliens and demons, is there no room for mercy, for salvation? Mesmeri laments, but she does not wallow. Her ideals shine bright, even through her tear-stained eyes.

Background: A world without conflict was a dream, but it was a beautiful one, captivating and heartbreaking to so many that dreamed of it. Reality ended those dreams, but did not end the Spirit that was born from them. In the city of Uruk, Mesmeri wandered, unwanted and unneeded. A spirit that made weapons was one thing, a spirit that was unwilling to fight was another. No one would bond with her, and she wanted to bond with no one either. She could only curse her powerlessness, and could only continue to exist, meaninglessly and without direction.

But someone believed. Someone told her, that her ideals were beautiful, that they were worth pursuing. That a war does not end in extermination, but in negotiation. She was naive to her core; he was naive willfully. And, even when their reality required them to fight, to assist in the death of others, it was still fine.

A lot could be endured, just because someone else stands by your side.

Appearance: At a slight seven inches in height, Mesmeri looks to be just like any other fairy, her hair and her eyes colors that are bright and pretty. But her countenance is pften grave, the corners of her eyes often tinged raw. She comes to tears easily, and butterflies, made of Prana or some other arcane substance, seem to seep out from the edges of her dark blue dress.

Description: An elegantly crafted katana. The hilt is wrapped with pink cord, while the blade has a subtle, turquoise glint.

All it took was a single moment to change a life.

When he was a young boy, Veil saw his father come back home from a military campaign in pieces. An encounter with a monster that wasn't in the reports ended with his squad being all but decimated. The funeral came quickly, but it didn't bring closure or relief. He saw his mother smile and laugh with her friends during the procession. He shuddered on the inside, wondering whether what he felt was grief or rage. The platitudes from strangers were worse. What did they know? Why were they saying this? Why did they care? Why couldn't they leave him alone? Because he was a child. Because it was an honor to die for Uruk. Because they could sit in their comfy little chairs as people they didn't know bled and died. Because they could then feel good about themselves for consoling a child who lost his father.

His feelings blackened. He stopped going to school. Spent his time skipping instead, wandering aimlessly, thoughtlessly, through the lonely, messy alleyways of western Uruk. His mother was going to remarry. It was expected, really. She never worked a day of her life, and had the looks to snag herself another husband anyhow. He didn't hate her. He was a leech too, dependent on the money of others. But he didn't like it either. Veil continued to smoulder, wandering and wondering, uncertain and unhappy. Picked fights with other kids. Dyed his hair, got piercings, and came home late at night, smelling of smoke and alcohol. Not like that got him any attention though.

Adolescent agony, truly.

It was a chance encounter in an alleyway, hiding behind a dumpster from the brothers of some kid he shook down, that he encountered a Fairy. Mesmeri, despondent and depressed, a spirit with no real power, but a spirit with convictions that Veil lacked. It was strange, it was sorta stupid, but it was interesting, his conversations with her. He began visiting more often; his mother probably thought he was slumming it out or something. But where Veil was sick of humans, whether they helped him or harmed him or just got in his way, there was something weirdly refreshing about talking with a dumpster-dwelling fairy with dreams too fantastic to be truly realized. World peace? World peace without wiping out all the monsters in the world? Without perpetuating losses on both sides?

What a dream.

He liked it.

It was fortune that brought the two together, but it was with potential that he always had, that Veil could make his vows and bond with this stupid, immature, crybaby Fairy. The Specters came soon, to the alleyway that had become their secret hiding place, and Veil left with them, without a word to his mother, without any of his possessions.

He left it all behind, for a new start, and a new path.
Personality: Veil is a tempered individual, calm and unwilling to come to blows with others. He strives to see things from other people's points of view, and works to understand their concerns, in order to think up of a solution where both can walk away happy. Doesn't always happen, of course; he's a good deal more cynical than his Fairy, and though unwilling to fight, is not incapable of fighting. There's a roughness in his speech when he starts talking too fast for his mind to keep up, and he's still a bit of a delinquent who sees rules as worth breaking if he doesn't like them. Nothing isn't worth trying, and any challenge presented before him will be met head-on. For someone who wants to support a crybaby-idiot-Fairy's dream of world peace, he's gotta be at least that reckless, after all.

Appearance: 5'10 and pale from preference towards being nocturnal, Veil cuts the form of a punk you wouldn't want to encounter in a dark alleyway, his pierced ears and frequently narrowed eyes giving him the impression of someone who'd eat you alive. There are marks on his knuckles from where they've been skinned and busted on someone else's face, and he has a predilection for wearing black, no matter the weather or the occasion.

Transformed, however, he cuts a much different form, donning flowing robes bedecked with flowers, as his his hair and eyes both become softer in coloration. Braided rope, entwined with blooming vines, keeps his wide sleeves from interfereing too far, while his shoes have become sandals now, small golden bells attached to them so they ring whenever he takes a large step. The difference between one's past and one's future, perhaps?

  • Biography: Ezio was born to a middle class family. His parents were watchmakers, and showed him plenty of things about the family business. Ezio developed a sharp sight and precision from it, being very good at the craft at an early age. Sadly, when he was 14, his parents died on a car accident. Having no adult to look for the business, it closed. But just when Ezio thought he was doomed, his uncle took him under his wing. His uncle was a member of a mercenary group, and without other option, Ezio became one too. This is where the code name, and for most purposes, name, was Faust. Now, his firm grip and sharp eye weren't used for watches, but to kill enemies from a distance efficiently as a sniper. He fought, and fought for years, being more than used to battle by the age of 19. The job had its good days as well as its bad ones. Recently, one particularly bad one presented itself. Ezio was in the middle of a gunfight along some people of his group. They were outnumbered, ammo was running low. It was then that a wandering spirit appeared before him. The spirit bonded with him, and helped them through the battle with minimal casualties. Once the squad returned to the rest of the group. Specters were there already to take him away. Knowing how this all worked, Ezio offered no resistance. He packed his belongings and left the group of mercenaries for a new life as a mage.

  • Personality: A very laid back person, appearing relaxed in even the most aggravating of situations. Ezio is mentally tough. Despite of his rather tragic and violent life, he still seems optimist about life. He is very difficult to aggravate, a fight is difficult to get out of him. And even if he is annoyed, he simply distances from the root of his annoyance. He is good with kids, for the most part, as he has been in their shoes. A young person thrown into the real world on his own. That said, he won't actively look to help kids, especially in the rare instance of finding a kid that annoying.

    • Biography:
      Reportage: Hachirou Yamashita

      By Victoria Campbell

      Dear headmaster Miyamoto,

As per conduct I have done proper investigations into the history of the new budding mage that shall be under your shelter and watchful eye. I hope you appreciate my work as a internal police investigator as always, and shall continue to use my services.

To begin my investigations upon Hachirou Yamashita, after checking the civilian database it has come to my attention that his background is of a lower class citizen.

Though it seems he himself was born within An Chead Toshi Uruk, yet his parentage is from the countryside. A small western city of Wallasey in the countryside, created about 60~ years ago during the expansion. Their motivations after a small amount of research implies no incident had caused this, instead it seems to have occurred within a reasonable timeframe after their engagement.

Furthermore, through small idle chatter with local folk within Wallasey whom would have been in contact with them it has come to my intention they likely came for a more prosperous future as their households were in decline.

However, to make it simple this endeavour proved futile as they both possessed no proper education or money for such. The father seemed to have switched odd jobs, before settling into construction. Whilst the mother was able to obtain a job as a call service helper under a small scam company. Both jobs it seems through neighbours or acquaintances that they held little interest in.

It does seem however, that both individuals are by no means malicious nor raised him in any such manner. Keeping proper conduct, though they may have had to trudge through life. No signs of improper religion such as active participation within a cult were found.

Onto the main aspect of this investigation, Hachirou Yamashita, himself. Through personal connections I was able to access private data which goes further in on your future student, as well as gather public data from social media to news articles.

An interesting facet you shall need to keep in mind for this student is his intellect. It seems that Hachirou, around the last year of primary school, had made the headlines of small news outlets due his results on the required advisory test, followed by an IQ-test to further define such. With titles such as ‘Boy genius!!’.

This seems to have been a large shifting point for the couple as well, as the private school of King’s Seminary for the high elite located in the eastern wards of Uruk. The location of our incident and where your affiliated Specters captured him. As the headmaster had offered them a tuition if he would study there, likely as a publicity stunt.

Through brief interviews with teachers whom have taught him in past, and old documentation from the primary school he was taught at, a commonality could be observed. Social reclusiveness. A fact that I was easily able to trace back into King’s Seminary, however it had grown in severity.

This problem may likely find its roots due to the social structure within the academy, as reports from teachers showed he was quite wary and understanding of his situation. Performing exceptionally well within every test. Additionally, it seemed that over his years of studying within this academy he had suffered heavily from bullying. Most of which a blind eye was taken towards, due to the students involved in such. [Clause: The extent of bullying is undetermined, as such was never documented or were removed due to pressure; only indirect references could be used.]

This bullying had caused Hachirou to even subject himself to a temporary isolation for a brief period. A fact which had caused great worry for both parents, as multiple phone calls made towards the academy were registered to have occurred. Which shows a likelihood of great worry from the couple, but a double sided dependency cannot be ruled out.

The root reasoning as for his enrolment lies in the culmination to this bullying. On the date of June 7th, 199NWC, subject Hachirou had a sudden spike of magical energy. This transpired around 3:15 pm, through unknown means of contact with a spirit the subject formed a contract. The subject then after he had been called by the group of students caused what is likely an unpremeditated act of violence, or a reactionary act of passion. This can be caught into question due to the fact he had already made a contract with a spirit through unknown means of communication. Luckily enough the incident was limited to minimal severe injuries as our affiliated Specters were able to interfere on time.

  • Biography:
Violet in the Court of Thorns

In the small rural village of Honeybrooks, first pets and children had gone missing. No one knew the reason but wildlife was suspected.

The last breath of summer day breezed through the window into Violet’s room. She was growing restless. Before her companion had never missed daylight. Now it was getting colder and the fields were basked in the moonlight.

It wasn’t always like this. But lately strange things had been going on. Her pixie would do pranks and pull Violet into them. Violet had always been a very obedient girl but the thrill and excitement of doing things made her feel something new and unique. Not something that she was grown to be.

Violet was on verge of giving up when she heard children’s laughter outside.

She climbed down the window and dashed on the field. Shouting out for Sunshine. Only to be shocked. She saw a group of pixies and fairies drag a beaten child towards the forest. It was a familiar road that she knew of. The court of roses laid beyond, forbidden to all.

Violet couldn’t understand what was going on. She decided to follow them, breaking the promise she had made to Sunshine to never enter the forbidden grove.

In the beginning the forest was familiar to her. The moon gave light and made it easy to see where to go. The forest was growing darker and denser as Violet followed the fairies. The only thing that let her see anything was the glowing dust that the pixies and fairies left in their trail.

Violet wasn’t sure, if she was getting slower or the fairies were moving faster. Sinister dark shadows were creeping up on her and the air was getting colder. In a few minutes Violet lost all light and was left struggling in the dark. She kept pushing forward to the last direction she could.

    “Sunshine?”

    “Sun-shine?”

Violet tried to desperately call for her spirit, whispering in the air. She kept going forward. Every now and then a branch would cut her hands or feet.

It was getting worse. Violet felt her head being hazy from the pain from all the cuts and the cold made her tremble. Until she lost balance and tripped. Falling down a small hill into a bush of thorns and sharp things. And something cold.

Violet used her hands to feel for what was the cold object underneath her. It was something round. It had holes in it. It had teeth. Violet quickly got up and was about to scream, pushing the skull away from her hands as her eyes locked to what was ahead of her.

Violet cowered down. Tears fell down her cheeks but she didn’t say a thing. She didn’t even dare to breath. She had seen a monster.

Violet kept to herself. She locked her hands around her feet and didn’t move one inch. Every survival instinct within her body kept her still.

    “Violet?”

    “Violet is that you?”

Violet opened her eyes. She was staring at a pixie that she once knew yet was completely different entity. It’s eyes were dark and cold.

    “Su-sunshine?” Violet whimpered, asking.

“I go by the name Nightfall now. I was meant to show you this place. But the queen always sleeps after the meal. You can wait here until tomorrow.”

Violet got up, holding a blade in her hand. It was something she had grabbed on instinctively.

Nightfall was staring at her but didn’t seem to notice the blade regardless of it’s site.

“You said no human could enter the court of Roses. Why did you lie to me?” Violet asked.

“Court of Roses is no more. The Queen was killed. Long live the new Queen. That sword belonged to the last Queen. The new Queen has proclaimed that all children are welcome in her domain.”

    Violet approached Nightfall.

“Are you still my friend?” Violet asked.

“I serve the Queen now.” Nightfall responded.

Violet slashed the air with the blade and pointed it towards Nightfall.

“I saw that thing. Are you with me… or against me.” Violet gritted her teeth.

“I am with the Queen. You could be Queen.” Nightfall said, it’s voice was mischievous, and it let out a soft giggle.

Soon the air was filled with pixies and fairies, all eyes on Violet. Some started to poke her. Some sought to taste the blood from all the small cuts in her body. Soon they were swarming around her. Causing pain to Violet. And when she couldn’t bear any more, Violet she lashed out screaming. Like it was a memory of the blade or a malicious intent from Nightfall. Each pixie within her proximity had been cut. And a louder gasp followed by a thousand evil giggles filled the sky, reveling in the deaths of the fae.

“She could become a new Queen.” Nightfall proclaimed.

“Look how many she killed.” She heard a whisper from a tree.

Nightfall flew towards Violet and kissed her lips to fulfill the contract. “She is my queen.” Nightfall spoke out. “Well have to kill a Queen first.” Violet said with a mischievous smile.

    “What now?” Violet asked.

“You need to transform and to do so...” Nightfall and the other pixies had sinister plans in their mind.

Violet felt alone and a strong desire of escape filled her mind. However, if she did anything the pixies would surely swarm on her and she would die. Maybe it would be better, if she died; she thought. Or the monster.

“Sure. I’ll transform.” Violet proclaimed without hesitation. Her voice was wrathful and she was determined to kill the monster. As she said those words, she ended up transforming. Each of the pixies cowered and flew backwards, even Nightfall.

Violet had become beautiful, elegant and deadly. Black wings like butterfly yet sharpened edges like those of a locust. There was deadly sharpness and elegant softness to her likeness. And she was dark like the night.

“She didn’t… How did she… She looks more like the previous Queen” The pixies whispered. Violet walked towards Nightfall and lifted the pixie up on her shoulder.

“It must be because of our bond.” Violet said confidently. Her voice was commanding and it calmed the pixies around her. She then turned towards the monster, slowly approaching it.With sword in hand she waited in the dark. Observing the resting aberration.

    Minutes went by.

In one violent burst Violet charged the monster and started slashing it with the sword. A guttural howl pierced the sky as the creature screamed in agony. Violet did not relent itself even when all the pixies were holding to their ears. Despite of the protection of Aura, Violet’s ears and eyes begun to bleed. And from distraction, in an instant she found her self blasted against a large oak.

The creature let out another scream and dark smoke spiraled out from the beaten creature. Infesting the pixies and plants and trees around. Violet slowly trembled to get up and face whatever was coming. Another wave of sound crashed towards her and she could feel blood frothing from her mouth.

“What a s-stupid mistake.” Violet gasped. She laughed to herself and dragged herself to stand up. She steeled her focus. She waited for a killing blow that never came. Instead a massive pillar of blue flame engulfed the monster. Another mage had appeared, fighting in a different league. The fight against the monster had only begun, yet in a flash the forest was burning. Violet was certain he was shouting something that she couldn’t hear or understand. Her ears were ringing and she couldn’t waste concentration on anything else than the fight. She waited for an opening to go in again. And again she went in only to be pushed back out in a flash. And for each time she was pushed back she barged back in.

After a long fight Violet found her blade buried deep into the creature – no longer transformed.

She had always known the monster. Violet’s eyes turned teary from grief, her eyes reflecting that of which was in front of her. Violet’s eyes slowly died from the emotional shock and the reflection disappeared as the tears stopped flowing. In one hateful swing the queen was decapitated and Violet wiped the blood from the sword on her left hand.

Only ash and destruction remained of the court of the forest folk. Nightfall darted out from a hiding hole to hug Violet’s cheek and clean the blood on her face. The mysterious mage approached Violet but her ears were still ringing. Violet’s transformation came to an end and specters swooped in.

All of the pixies disappeared into the dark night and only Nightfall remained. Violet’s transformation came to an end and the specters arrived. Only now Violet truly realized that there had been another mage around, she only could keep her eyes at the threat. Violet gave a gaze to this mage and spoke out: “Tell them. Tell them all that there were no survivors…” The mage spoke something and Violet tilted her head, trying to understand. Upon noticing the blood around her ears the mysterious character gave a nod and walked away towards the village. Violet then went along with the specters, never to return home.

  • Personality:
Young mind broken to emphasize only survival, all redeeming qualities are gone. Her new ego has formed a strong thorny shell around her past, struggling to push through any difficulty through brute force. Her old self is shattered and trapped under layers of traumas, and though she exhibits symptoms of post traumatic stress, her drive to fight and push through is greater.

Violet’s transformation appears to crunch her old self even further into the abyss every time and each time she becomes transformed it’s as if she forgets where she came from in the first place. Each transformation appears to fade away her memories from her time before she confronted the witch. Due to the amnesic nature of her transformation, she has a slight addiction towards it.
  • Appearance:

Regularly, Violet has short black hair and would appear as half-Asian. Her transformation however completely alters her appearance. Turning her skin pale and turning her facial features doll-like, like it was a very thin mask over her face or impressive makeup. The transformation also makes her significantly bigger mostly due to the way how her dress and wings set combines with heels.

        • Biography: Dolos is named after the Greek Dolos, spirit of trickery and guile, and master of cunning deception, craftiness, and treachery. Whether or not this spirit is the real Dolos is up for debate; what is known is that the Dolos that manifests itself as Janus's spirit bonded with him at some point after his magical affinity was discovered and publicized, and before he was sent into the military to be a mage. Outside of the magical bond the two share, Janus has some sort of additional agreement with the spirit, the terms of which are only known to the parties that agreed upon it.

    • Personality: Janus is a amiable soul, willing and able to flirt with anyone that crosses his path. He is amiable to those who reject his advances (which is basically everyone), as his courtship is not often a true sign of romantic interest and more a sign of friendliness. Janus's personality can best be described as that of the stereotypical bard- one who loves food, drink, romance, and song.

    Description:
    A standard metal magical staff.
  • Biography:
Rina grew up in a small town beyond the Bastion as the daughter of two retired Mages. Although her parentage made it much more likely than one in 100 for her to become one herself, it didn’t happen even after hitting puberty. Not that she wanted it to, unlike her little brother Arin. One day when she was 18, a spirit who looked like a little girl approached her insisting she had latent potential. She brushed her off, saying she didn’t want it and that it would have awakened by now if it existed. The girl left in a huff insisting the offer was still open, that her potential was bound to awaken one day, and when it did all she would have to do to forge the pact was change her mind. As time passed and that offer drifted further into her memory, she sought an education away from the rural life that began to bore her and eventually managed to get an internship with the Galileans in college.

And that was where it all went wrong.

Lights flickered, alarms blared, and sparks flew. Three minutes until reactor overload, the computer’s automated warning said. Everyone in the room had given up on their repair attempts and evacuated…everyone except her. Their best mechanic wasn’t here to fix it, but if she could do it and save valuable tech in the process, there was her one chance at recognition! One minute would be more than enough time to escape the blast radius anyways, she thought. She pressed on attempting repairs alone after the others had given up. Before she knew it only two minutes remained. Sweat poured down her face as time continued to run out. Finally, at one minute and ten seconds left, there was just one last step to fix the broken conduit and stop the meltdown…

But just as she thought it was repaired, another surge busted it open again! Lightning arced out of the broken wires using her own body to complete the circuit. She couldn’t hear herself scream over the deafening crackling and couldn’t remove her hands from the metal despite every effort to do so. The insulated gloves hadn’t helped at all. Her life flashed before her eyes proving the phenomenon she thought a myth true. Was this it? Was she really going to die like this? Suddenly, she recalled that little girl’s words.

“I’ve already offered my end of the pact. All you must do is accept it, you foolish child!”

A blinding flash filled her vision and a feeling overwhelmed her body as if millions of volts came both from within and without. When it finally died out, so did the blaring alarms, the pain, and the lights in a cascading power outage. The good news was she’d stopped the explosion. As for the bad news…all she could see was a bright green aura around her body illuminating her equally green hair and the strange suit of medieval armor she now wore.

A moment of silence passed before realization struck her like the lightning.

    “…Fuck.”

She didn’t resist when the Spectres came.

Thanks to that, they allowed her the small mercy of packing her things and saying her goodbyes to her shocked family. They then promptly drafted her as a student/soldier in a class of mostly early to mid teenagers. Class 1A.

She spent enough time there to get to know her classmates and get along with a few, but not enough to get truly attached. She passed up the chance to attend the dinner with the other class or the tournament: while the learning experience of training was appealing, the thought of either beating up or being beaten up by little kids was not. She regretted this when against all odds, Uruk’s perimeter was breached for the first time in history. Like her classmates, she held off the goblin invaders at a different gate from the other class, and in the days after managed to learn a new spell to paralyze enemies.

Little did she know she would wake up late to be ordered to join the class she never bothered to meet on their airship expedition…

  • Personality: As curious as she is dependent on caffeine, Rina was well on her way to becoming a Galilean until chance forced her to become a Mage instead. The irony of now following in her parents' footsteps despite every attempt to do otherwise is not lost on her. Despite carrying bitterness, she tries to stay optimistic and make the most of her new life as a magical girl for her sanity, for the greater good, and of course, for science.

Although he can take on a humanoid appearance he usually stays in core form thanks to his origins.

A sword once wielded by heroes of legend. The blade has rusted over the centuries to become merely durable instead of nigh indestructible, but the magic of its past owners lingered. When a blacksmith recently reforged the blade, that magic and those memories became a Spirit sharing the sword’s name capable of taking on the appearance of the its past wielders. He ended up in the academy’s armory for a considerable time thanks to refusing to bond with any of the young Mages there. At least until he met a boy as stubborn as him…

A once famous sword that has sadly rusted over the ages to lose its signature invincibility.

  • Biography:
Arin grew up in a small town beyond the Bastion as the son of two retired Mages. Although his parentage made it much more likely than one in 100 for him to become one himself, it didn’t happen even after hitting puberty. This bothered him since he wanted to follow in his parents’ footsteps unlike his older sister Rina. After all, it wasn’t the safest outside Uruk so it was only natural he wanted to help guard the town like them. He trained day after day but only managed some basic cantrips. He wasn’t the smartest or most skilled, so he started praying to Kiriyako for good luck, yet none came. His frustration only grew when Rina awakened as a Mage despite never wanting to. Then one day all those bitter feelings came to a head…

And that was when everything took a turn for the better.

It certainly didn’t seem like it at first. Not when he was taking a beating. One might wonder how he ended up in this situation, and it was thanks to his own impulsiveness. It started after he’d seen a bully and his cronies pick on some kid in an alley for having no magic whatsoever. He distracted them long enough for the other guy to escape, the lackeys held him from behind, so here he was. His barrier cantrip that could only stop bug bites and rain shattered in a single punch. The insults hurt more than the punches and kicks though. Wannabe hero, loser, idiot, shame to his family, the list went on. He stopped trying to fight back. They were right after all, he’d never amount to anything. Not when he’d wasted so much time trying to be something he couldn’t. He forgot how many hits he took, all of the pain blending together as he tried not to give scream from pain or frustration. Why was he such a failure? All he’d wanted was to make his family proud. Why couldn’t he have just been born lucky?!

He heard a scream that wasn’t his own. He opened his eyes and saw the bully recoiling in shock and horror staring at his bloodied hand with the wrist bent at a wrong angle. He took a step back, then another, then ran in terror like his buddies. What the heck were they scared of?

It must have been that bright blue aura around Arin. It took a second for it to click…then he burst into laughter and grinned.

”Hahahaha! I guess today’s my lucky day!”

He didn’t resist when the Spectres came.

They granted the small mercy of packing his things and saying his goodbyes to his family. His father unfortunately hadn’t been home during the ten minutes the Spectres allowed him, while his mother was in tears.

”Not you too...please, tell me this is all just an elaborate prank.” Of course, Spectres were not known for humor.

”Don’t cry, Mom, this is what I always wanted. Now I can protect everyone and make you proud!”

”Oh, you silly boy…” She smiled sadly and hugged him. ”I’ve always been proud.”

It was hard to let go. But inevitably, the time came for him to leave and begin his new life as a Mage and student in a class full of teenagers just like him. Class 1A.

But first, he needed a Spirit or else he’d become quite the social outcast to put it lightly. Or so the stories went. Given how meaningful the choice was, he didn’t want to make it impulsively and regret it, so he took some time. Some of the spirits volunteering for bonding were unfriendly and others didn’t fit his ideal fighting style…that’s when he heard the rumor of some legendary sword in the armory that wouldn’t let anyone use it. Naturally, he decided he’d be the first. It wasn’t exactly cooperative until he got the strange feeling like it was reading his mind as he held the hilt…

”You are nowhere near as capable as any of my past wielders. You lack even a quarter of their strength and skill…yet despite that, you helped that boy without thinking! And that is why you have the makings of a hero. So, what do you say? I can help you become worthy of wielding me, and you can help me become the blade I once was.”

    ”I’ll do it!”

He unsheathed the sword and transformed. That gave him a light blue aura and a fancy suit of medieval armor…neat! He’d wear that outfit many times in his academy days as he trained to become a proper Mage with his newfound powers, which were barriers of all things for a sword to use. Something about him once being invincible and used for defense…whatever the reason they were handy.

Like when monsters poured into the city. In that battle he experienced mortal fear for the first time, even though he could technically come back to life. He came quite close to death trying to protect his classmates from the monster hordes, especially Rina. It drove him to develop a new spell to help him keep fighting just a little longer when he was near his limits...he certainly didn’t want to repeat that experience.

Little did he know he would soon be sent on another dangerous mission to join the other class’s airship expedition.
  • Personality:
Energetic and reckless, Arin spent his whole childhood determined to become a Mage just like his parents when he grew up. With his dream finally realized he looks forward to doing his part in protecting the innocent. He may be a little naïve but isn’t completely stupid. He knows the risks of the job, he just doesn’t care.
