This is a sci-fi/fantasy RP. The Players are young Mages who have been brought to the Academy in order to develop their magical talent and protect their city. They will fight monsters that roam in the wilderness, investigate nefarious plots against King and Country, and so on. But that is all in their future. For now, after a bit of general plot setup, let us have the characters meet up, get to know one another, etc. We can feed them to monsters later.

The plot so far:
The students meet their teacher, Professor Yuki Okamoto, and have their first few days of instruction.

About a week into their Academy life, they are unexpectedly sent out on a mission to investigate the town of Normaden. They learn that a Witch, a powerful monster that sometimes grows from humans with magical potential, has developed in the region. Their Professor takes on the role of exterminating the Witch itself, leaving the students to handle some of its Familiars. During the students' fight, though, they are unexpectedly brought face to face with an Angel. After a fierce fight, the students are victorious and return to their homes safely.

Back in Uruk, the plots grow thicker. A massive force of Angels has gathered near Babylon, and the head honchos discuss plans of how to deal with the threat. The Academy's Headmaster learns that the Angel that the students encountered was sent by the Chief of the Galileians. What could Chief Herschel be plotting, and why involve these young Mages?

Completely unaware of these plots, the students are assigned another mission: to resolve an incident over who should possess a valuable research subject. They will be escorted and monitored by Essence Parker, one of the academy's Student Council members...

Reaction & Action Phase:

After applying the previously mentioned marks, Hibiscus applied a Mark of Hibiscus to both Rainer, then Ozymandius. The former of whom she forcefully shoved away afterwards to rid of the smell.

Afterwards she noted that Londo seemed to be talking to the random civilian girl, as if he knew her. He was talking about playing a game, but knowing him he was spouting a load of bull. There's no way a person could come up with this kinda game that he was talking about.

Did seem fun though

The goblin had been smart enough to run away, revealing that those portals were a two-way door rather than one-way. With the creature out of sight, she could calm her head enough to focus on whatever Londo was conversing about with the odd girl. She'd interfere their games by saying; "You seem to know her, would you care to introduce us?"

She kept an eye on the portal whilst awaiting the answer, starting to wonder if she'd be able to break it with Valerius. However, considering Okamoto hadn't mentioned the option during their briefing, they were likely not destroyed that easily.

Seeing as the only visible threat was gone, Ryan relaxed a lititle and looked around. He hadn't explored the city much after moving in, so he was quite unfamiliar with it... Though he did realize that he was somewhat close to Miss Apollonia's shop, which was concerning, but he couldn't just leave his spot. He just hoped that she and all the friends of Gaibhne were ok. He hadn't heard of them since crashing their meaning, but they were still open to include him into their group and teach Ryan the way of the forge. Looking in the estimated direction where the shop would be, there were no signs of attack that he could see. It wasn't much, but it was something... Now, where was he?

Start of Turn: +5 Prana

Action & Reaction Phase
Focusing back on the task at hand, well, there was still nothing to worry about. However, that could change at any second, so Ryan was still standing at the ready. On the opposite side to the portal, Londo was talking about playing with a girl sitting on a bench "Was she always there?..." He thought, reflecting on if being mad at Yuki had him so distracted. Now that she was not there with them, he felt calmer. This calm lead to hearing Londo suggesting a game to the girl on the bench. Worried, Ryan intervened "... Um, Londo? Don't you think this is a bad time to play shiritori?" But then Almeida joined the conversation, knowing she was more knowledgeable in battle calmed Ryan's concern... somewhat

Yune
4hgmd9Q.png

Yune gave a huge smile as Londo suggested shiritori. "Yeah, Nii-chan loves playing shiritori. Though I can never beat him…"

But his follow-up idea was even better: "Ooh! I can do something like that with my powers. Hmm, but I'm not allowed to play with the Gates, so I can't use my powers on them."

She pouted a bit as Ryan spoke up. Playing games was always a good idea! Why would any kid not want to play games? Oh no. Was he one of those boys who was too old to play? So sad, to have gotten old so young.

Almeida swept her gaze over the Gate, but it divulged no secrets. Neither the outer purple ring of energy nor the rippling, fluid interior seemed like particularly good candidates for bashing into oblivion. Then again, nothing was stopping her from trying if she wanted.

As Londo spoke the word "Firetruck", a sizable red vehicle popped into existence on the street. Yune thought for a moment, before she replied "Kangaroo!" A brown marsupial manifested not far from the fire truck. It looked around, utterly baffled by suddenly appearing in the middle of a city street. In a panic, it began hopping away down the street, fleeing away from Centennial Square and off into the distance.

The Gate continued to hover in place, showing no signs of fading, changing, or releasing more enemies, at least for now.

Londo made a thinking face as the red firetruck spawned into existance besides them, "Hmmm." As if something was extremely wrong. Londo shrugged, shrugging off Ryan's say in this conversation, "Nonsense! As you can see, it's a fun time!" As the kangaroo appeared.

Londo then realized that he did not even introduce his very good friend! Londo gestured to Yune, "Well you see, Almeida, this is my good friend, Yune!" Londo said, then struck a series of poses, "She first appeared to me in a dream, then alaunched my bed high into the wair, where bats appeared, and then I grew wings and become 22 years old, in a robot body, as Ventus and Heimdallr assisted me, Ventus not so much, but Heimdallr gave me much needed help to finish them off!" Londo said, the silence deafening.

"If you can believe it... That's all actually true..."

"Anyways!" Londo said, pointing to the sky-

"Oyster!" He said, just barely getting the 30-second limit, "Now that I got my turn out of the way... Yune! I said we could do Materialization shiritori another time! We can't have firetrucks blocking off the good fight, am I right? I know it'll be a bit more boring, but we can make up for it next time!" Londo said excitedly!

Well then, a firetruck just casually popped into existence. "Wow..." For a moment, Almeida even forgot the ominous portal. She did feel bad for the kangaroo though, the poor creature seeming to have no clue what just happened. Wait, that made her question something. If this girl was making these things appear by taking them from elsewhere, they'd be causing a fair bit of chaos. Londo's introduction being as lacking as expected, it was a surprise his spirit actually backed him up, Almeida had to see if she could learn a bit more. "So... Yune, nice to meet you." Normally an introduction went in both direction, but considering Londo hadn't really introduced her, Almeida would so so herself. "I'm Almeida." Well, it wasn't really a situation to beat around the bush, so she'd better cut to the case. "You said you weren't allowed to play with the Gates. Does that mean you know why they are here or who made them?"

Reaction & Action Phase:

Hibiscus sighed, and let her prana recharge in the meantime while downtime happened. Suilen seemed a bit too far away too apply her mark for now, and the teacher probably didn't need it. It would be a great help for her teleportation spell, but Hibiscus still felt as if applying the mark to the teacher at this moment was a waste.

After the firetruck and kangaroo suddenly appeared, Hibiscus had a very bad feeling in her stomach, and wondered if maybe Londo should stop playing that game. Almeida didn't seem to have any outward concern with it, but she was talking to Yune in order to get more information from her. Hibiscus shivered for a reason that wasn't the cold. This situation just felt off for some reason...

Yune
4hgmd9Q.png

Yune folded her arms in front of her and nodded sagely as Londo explained to Almeida how he and Yune had met. "It wasn't a dream, but close enough." And as Londo called out "oyster" into the night sky, there was an ever-so-slight pop as somewhere nearby, an oyster suddenly appeared. Where, it was hard to tell. It wasn't nearly as large as, say, a fire truck or a kangaroo. Certainly, though, it would be just as confused by its new environment as the kangaroo had been.

Her cheeks puffed up in a pout as she heard Londo continue. "But this is fun. And wouldn't it make your fight more fun? Rabbit!" A small, fluffy, white bunny poofed into the space between her arms, and she began to snuggle with it as Almeida continued.

"Hi," was all the reply to the statement of Almeida's name. The next part received a moment of consideration before Yune spoke. "No, all I know is Nii-chan said not to play with them. Maybe he wanted to study them? He likes to study things."

As Yune was replying to Almeida, the surface of the Gate began to ripple again. From out of the Gate, a wooden keg rolled its way out. A small spark was rapidly making its way closer to the barrel itself, quickly creeping along some sort of rope sticking out one side.

Almeida wondered for a moment why the rabbit looked oddly familiar, but decided to write it off as a coincidence. She wanted to ask if they could talk to this Nii-chan, whatever a Nii-chan might be, as it didn't sound like a name, but she was distracted when she spotted a keg rolling out of the portal.

"Keep your distance!" It could be two things; an explosive or a way to create a smokescreen. Considering the goblins had no way of knowing whom was close enough the portal the get caught up in a blast and were intelligent enough to know that they could storm out without being slaughtered if they went unseen, she placed her bets on the latter. "They might use it as a distraction or smokescreen to storm us!"

That said, she braced herself by holding Valerius in front of her in the direction of the portal to guard in the rare case it was an explosion. If she could get another phrase in before the action started, she'd ask; "Can I meet this Nii-chan?"

Londo put his hands behind his head as he thought about Yune not wanting to play regular word games, "Alright, but nothing dangerous, we gotta keep this city intact you know." And after the barrel rolled through, Londo perked up, "Yo Almeida, think we could throw something back through the portal? It seems two way, so maybe we could throw a huge bomb through if one of us says it in the game?"

And then after Almeida's question of meeting the brother, Londo asked, "Oh yea. You never told me who your brother was, who exactly is your big bro, Yune?"

Londo thought for just a moment, before speaking out his next word, "'Teacher!'" Visualizing Professor Okamoto in his mind in the hopes she would appear next to them.

(Start of Turn: +5 Prana, +10 Stamina)

Reaction Phase:
Mislyte, who had been waiting on standby, noted the barrel as it wobbled from the portal. Noting the spark from his vantage point, he held his shortsword in the air while coordinating with Split to infuse the blame with his energy. The glass like blade shimmered and left a black trail through the air as Mislyte cut down at an angle.

(-10 prana, -20 stamina)
"Void Cut!"
"...VoId CuT!..."

Man and Spirit called out in their own way as a dark blade of energy cut through the air towards the barrel with intent to separate the spark from the barrel by the rope/fuse sticking out of the barrel.

Action Phase:

Mislyte's blade no longer shimmered, but the arrangement of the glass like blades that made up its length had noticeably changed. Unsure whether his efforts would pay off, Mislyte returned to watching the portal and barrel closely to best react to what may come or coordinate with other members of the team. He would go back on standby, with blade held ready to deliver another ranged attack from above if necessary.

Reaction & Action Phase:

Hibiscus prepared herself for the anticipation of what would happen next. No doubt the creatures would think the barrel went off and go in thinking a distraction had been caused. If Mislyte's aim was par enough for the course that is, which Hibiscus hoped as she watched him attack the barrel rope from a nearby building. At least he didn't need a mark from her, for now, as it looked like he'd be ok on his own attacking from afar.

The shiritori game kept happening, and Hibiscus felt a sort of dread over how this child was immature to continue it. If something dangerous happened, it'd be on Londo for sure.

Rainer was kinda just chilling for a bit there, before Hibiscus came to do something. That something involved mainly just pushing, the less than air resistance, Rainer. Ah. Which ended up toppling him over. He got up right after though, pretending nothing had happened. This did make him realize though, that he hadn't transformed yet, so time to do so~. "Transform~! Badaboom, a carcass made suit replaced his current clothes.

In case it would be a smokescreen, he would fire one of his dust balls at the portal, once something came out, given he'd be able to see anything through the smoke. In case anyone was in the way of the portal or was trying to get in close to it, he'd try and not hit one of his classmates while shooting his dust ball.

Collab between Hibiscus and a few NPCs July 30th, 199 NWC, ~4:00 PM

Setting: The Student Council Room, July 30th, 199 NWC, ~4:00 PM

CZoMiOd.png
After getting back from the library, Hibiscus had read up on the Old Gods with Nick Fjordan's books. After an hour or so, she and Lyka had left to get lunch, and returned back to the room, their bellies full.

And after a few more hours of reading, Hibiscus set her bookmark into the book, and stretched. Lyka was looking up at the ceiling, looking extremely bored with nothing to do. Hibiscus wondered why Lyka decided to hang around at times like these if she was just gonna complain about being bored, which-

"Man, fuck this shit. I'm bored as all hell!" Lyka exclaimed.

Right on que.

Hibiscus sighed, not bothering to tell her that she could leave any time she wanted, and instead looked at the time: 4:02 PM. Maybe it would be good for Hibiscus to take a stroll as well, and have Lyka not be bored.

Picking up her bag, Hibiscus brushed off her skirt, "I'm gonna go to the student council room!" She announced with no prior warning, raising her hand and pointing at the door to signal more adventure.

Lyka, who wasn't one to like the student council, gave Hibiscus a blank stare, and then shrugged, "You know, maybe I can pick on some poor sucker like that one frog-looking kid."

Hibiscus pouted, not wanting Lyka to do that to someone, but she opened her pocket to let Lyka fly into it, as they both left the dorm room.

Following signs, Hibiscus made her way to the student council room. Once there, she knocked on the door, hoping someone would tell her to come in, and if they did, she would enter.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Come in~"

A female voice resounded from the other side of the door. Upon entering, she'd notice two people. Fenton, and the owner of the voice that called her in.

Fenton Trask

"Hey!" Fenton enthusiastically called out to her as she entered.

Sona Báthory

"I don't recognize you... You must be from class 1B! Is there anything I can help you with?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus waved at Fenton, "H-Hello again~!" She nervously said, and waved to the other person as well, "H-Hi! I'm Hibiscus Oswald, f-from class 1B…" Hibiscus trailed off, unsure what to say, or what to ask for, but then felt rustling in her pocket. Knowing that it was probably for a bad reason for Lyka to appear, Hibiscus tried to cover her pocket, but Lyka slipped out, the agile, cunning devil thing.

Lyka went over to Fenton and smiled smugly, poking at his head from all kinds of angles, "You know~" Lyka said to him, while Hibiscus's face grew red and she called out, "L-Lyka, please! I-I am trying to talk to them!"

"I wonder what kinda plate they serve up with frogs around here? You ever had frogs? Pretty yummy~!" She said, licking her lips and still poking fenton, while Hibiscus shouted at her, "L-Lyka! That's rude, please stop!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fenton, being as he was, seemed to actually consider the thought for a moment. "I'm pretty sure they don't serve frogs here, but I think there's a restaurant in town that serves both snails and frogs and whatnot. It's pretty expensive though, and I don't think I'd like it." He wouldn't let her poke at his head though, gently trying to wave her away at first and actually swatting her away like a fly if she'd keep trying.

Sona added on to it. "I wouldn't go there, as I'm pretty sure they secretly serve Fairies as a delicacy."

"Wait, isn't that forbidden?" Fenton seemed genuinely surprised. "Shouldn't we go and put a stop to that?"

Sona just sighed. "It was a joke." Although Fenton still seemed confused, she headed over to Hibiscus to observe her from up close, before extending a hand. "I'm Sona Báthory, the student council president."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Lyka contemplated whether or not she was actually joking, and even thought about going there to check, she stopped poking at him to fly around back to Hibiscus's pocket, where Hibiscus quietly shook Sona's hand, "I wonder if I can learn something from you about Lyka… Haha…." She said, nervously laughing. Then Hibiscus remembered why she even wanted to come here in the first place, "O-Oh! I remember! I wanted to talk about Essence!" Hibiscus said, "S-She told me some of her spirit's powers before, but I wanted to find out the others for myself! So I wanted to investigate her!" Hibiscus said excitedly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unless Hibiscus had a few years of patience, Sona wasn't the best person to give advice regarding Fairies. Being pretty self-aware about it, she remained silent with regards to Hibiscus' first statement. She raised an eyebrow with regards to Hibiscus' question. "Investigating the investigator? How odd~ As fun as it sounds, I'm not sure if I can help you all that much. We've kind-of got an unspoken rule that we don't pry much into each-others lives." Although barely noticeable, Sona quickly narrowed her eyes and glossed over Fenton while saying it, before defaulting back to her normal expression. "You could always try asking her spirits, of course, and if it's just about her magic, you could try finding someone she's once teamed up with in combat."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus thought about it a bit. That was true, asking someone she's had combat experience with before would be a good help, but Hibiscus had no idea who that could be even. Maybe some fight would start in the school soon and Essence, but pure chance, would be around to stop it or something like that. A world ending threat could also be one, but what are the chances of that happening?

But Hibiscus came all the way to the Student Council room, she wanted to learn SOMETHING there. Hibiscus pouted a bit, before deciding to ask Sona, "O-Ok then… What about you? I'll investigate you instead!" Hibiscus said, trying to put a smug smile on her face but failing miserably as her face turned red just staring at someone else's eyes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sona laughed. "I'm afraid I've already got my own fan-club wiki and whatnot, so I'm the least interesting person to investigate." She then turned a bit more serious, once more glossing over at Fenton as well. "Besides, not a lot of people like it when others try prying into their lives." All the while, Sona just started back at Hibiscus, as Hibby slowly started to turn red.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus felt embarrassed from the fact that her investigation attempt failed, although she couldn't tell why. Well, it might have something to do with Fenton's wish or something, maybe he tried too hard to pry into other peoples' lives. Maybe with that, he wouldn't mind others looking into his life, "A-Alright then. W-What about you, Fenton? I-I'll investigate you instead!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Me?" Fenton sounded pretty confused. "What is there to investigate about me?"

"Oh, I completely forgot!" Sona suddenly exclaimed. "We should be the ones investigating you! Your class has a new teaching method, after all. How has class been so far?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having her plan backfired once again, Hibiscus shrunk into a nervous wreck, with Lyka staring at the other two from her pocket, "Man, the student council really is full of assholes."

Hibiscus then tried to think of anything they learned in class, then remembered the 'new' teaching method they learned, which was extremely unorthodox, "W-Well… We were sent into battle really fast. I was only a student for 3 days before going into battle. We were supposed to fight a Witch's familiars, but a spirit who was being chased by an angel led an angel right to us, and we didn't really have a choice but to defeat it. T-That's really it, we didn't do anything other than that."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hmm... Yes, I heard that much." Sona paused a bit, getting a bit closer to Hibiscus to watch her from up close. "De you think it was fair for your class to be send out on a mission that soon?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus thought about it a bit, then shook her head, backing away a bit nervously from Sona, "W-Well, for me personally? No. I really didn't feel ready to take a mission like that. Especially with how little training as a mage I received before the mission started. Some others were enthusiastic, b-but I think most of the opinion was that we shouldn't do it. I-If we had gotten another week at least, maybe...." Hibiscus said trailing off, not sure where to go with the rest of her story

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deciding not to peruse the fleeing Hibiscus, Sona placed a hand underneath her chin as she thought. "Hmhm. Yet you guys still defeated even an angel. What a predicament..." She trailed off at the latter part. "In any case, do you like painting? I teach some classes at the school across the street, but others are free to drop by as well~"

"Uhm, Sona..." Fenton interrupted, as he was pretty aware of where things might end up going if painting got mentioned. "We should finish up our parts for the tournament, and we've still got a list of complaints to go through."

"Ah... right.."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus tilted her head, wondering about the painting classes. She didn't know what Sona meant about the angel killing being a predicament, so she ignored that part. It also seemed Hibiscus came at a bad time, as they had work to do regarding the tournament, "The tournament?..."

Hibiscus vaguely remembered reading about it, but not entering due to her prowess as a mage being less than subpar. Well, maybe she could do cqc? Not that well mind you, but probably enough to at least show some potential?

Deciding that she'd watch one of the tournaments later to see how it went, Hibiscus waved her hands at the two of them, "I-I'm sorry if I caught you at a bad time! I-I'll be going now, but I'd love to come see your classes! I painted a bit while at home, but I'm not an experienced painter, and I'd love to learn!" And if the two didn't make her stay, Hibiscus would leave the student council room to leave them to their work.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Alright~ The schedule is up on the web, just look up 'the joy of painting' and you'll probably find it!" Considering Fenton only waved goodbye, Hibiscus would soon find herself back out into the hallways after Sona's reply.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus sighed after she got out of the student council room. She had been going looking to get some information, but it seems she was the one who got interrogated instead.

Lyka perked her head out of the pocket, glaring at Hibiscus, "Painting? Seriously? You might have painted a bit at home, but you were definitely exaggerating when you said "wasn't an experienced painter". You were waaaaaay overestimat-"

"I-I know!" Hibiscus said, interrupting her. In truth, while Hibiscus did paint at home, she was dreadfully terrible at it. She had tried only learning from books, but books didn't do anything to help her learn to paint. She thought maybe if someone taught her directly, she could paint a lot better.

Hibiscus sighed, she'd just have to look up that "joy of painting" thing later. For now, she was interested in the tournament.

Making her way through the school, Hibiscus looked for a poster for the tournament. She did find one, and it turned out a few people she knew were in the beginner: Londo. Elisa. Almeida. Rainer… Suilen. Ryan. Maybe she could go and watch a few of them. Although with how the rules said you could do a match at any time, that might be hard….

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nuha Eszes

As Hibiscus was looking at the tournament posters, she was approached by an older looking woman; whom was likely a professor. She silently got closer to Hibiscus to stare over her shoulder, looking at the same poster Hibiscus was looking at and trying to follow her line of sight to figure out what specific parts the girl was looking at. She suddenly broke the silence. "Ah, the beginner matches." Despite the fair chance that she'd startle Hibiscus, the girl and her spirit would feel an odd sense of familiarly regarding this women, Lyka slightly more so than Hibiscus, even though neither of them would be able to place it. The more they'd think about it, the more they'd feel like they were blanking out on it, the same feeling you had when a word was at the tip of your tongue, yet you just can't recall it.

"It'll be fun to see if there is new talent among the first and second years, don't you think so too?" The woman asked. "Or are you joining in yourself?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus jumped when someone talked over her shoulder. This person must have been trying to give her a heart attack if she snuck up on her just to talk about the tournament. Hibiscus took a deep breath to try and calm herself down, "Y-Yea… I-I was just looking to see if anyone I knew was joining, so I plan to w-watch them…" Hibiscus muttered, "I-I can't fight by myself, so-"

"Sure you can! Just stab them a bunch and heal yourself when you're hurt!"

Hibiscus didn't seem comfortable with that idea, and sorta shrugged it off, looking back at the teacher, then squinting, "Er, Um… H-Have we met somewhere? You seem familiar."

Lyka popped out of Hibiscus's pocket then also squinted, "Yea, I'm sure I've seen you somewhere. Who are you?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Oh~ I think that happened before, a mage with healing powers joining a tournament. When they were up against a mage focused on defense, the match kept going for half a day~" The woman cheerfully explained it, out of the blue, seeming to shrug off any discomfort she might be causing (or being oblivious to it).

"I'm professor Eszes, designated teacher of class 2C, so you've probably seen me roam the hallways at one point or another." It didn't fully explain things, but that seemed to be all they'd be getting. "And who might you be?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lyka didn't really seem satisfied with the answer, as she slunk back into Hibiscus's pocket, and Hibiscus was still confused on how'd she remember a face without even noticing, but the professor introduced herself, so Hibiscus did the same, "M-My name is Hibiscus Oswald. My spirit is Lyka. We're from class 1B."

Hibiscus also wondered about that tournament matchup, could she actually participate in a tournament? It would certainly help her 1v1 scenarios with how she could handle opponents that her team could not. Certainly she had practiced in gym, but if she was in a real situation, she honestly could not tell how that would go...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Oswald, you say? That sounds familiar." Nuha seemed to be trying to put a face to the name. "Are there more Mages in your family?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus nodded in response to the teacher asking that, "Y-Yes, my father and mother were both mages."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So the kid's parents were both Mages? How oddly similar to the situation of her and her husband. Well, there was the 'were' rather than the 'are' in that statement. Wait, she thought she could recall something. "Are you by chance the daughter of Katoru and Jessie?" There weren't that many retired mage couples around with Oswald as a surname, so it was a pretty fair bet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus looked shocked as the teacher just said her parents' names, "Y-Y-You know my parents?! Y-Yes those are their names!"

Did this teacher serve with her parents? How well did she know them? These were questions that Hibiscus had to know, and ask she did, "H-How do you know them?!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She smiled. "Yes, we weren't in the same class, but they were in the Academy around the same time as I was, so I've seen them around a fair few times in the hallways. Oh, and I think we did a few of the same courses in the upper years." Her smile faded. "It's a shame about what happened to your father though, or that nobody ever figured out how it happened."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus smiled at knowing she was conversing with someone from her parents' past. This meant she might have know a lot about her parents and what kind of things they did. Was her dad in any clubs? Were they in the student council? How did they meet? All these questions that she had could finally be answered. Her father had always refused to talk about his life from school, and what exactly his power was. Her mother had told her that her power was being a ranger or something to do with a bow. She didn't go very much in depth. Hibiscus decided that her first question would be about her father, "About my father, he never said anything about his power. He wanted me to know as few things about Mages as possible, hoping I wouldn't become one, so he never told me. He still refuses to tell me for some reason… What was it?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nuha was silently debating her options. If Katoru had refrained from telling his daughter anything about his magic, maybe she would be better off respecting his wishes? On the other hand, if he wished for Hibiscus to have nothing to do with Mages, he had clearly already failed in that regard. Maybe that made it an equally solid option to just play with open cards? She settled on something between both options. "I don't recall a lot about his magic, but I do recall he used blood for it. It was quite the odd thing." Truth be told, she did recall some things, but she didn't desire to go into any specifics.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus froze at the mention of it, "B-Blood?!" Lyka then popped out of her pocket, "Blood? The fuck was your dad doing with a blood power?" Lyka asked, flying out of the pocket onto Hibiscus's shoulder, "Like father like daughter, eh?"

Hibiscus didn't know what this meant, but she'd probably have to ask her father about this later… But for now, her enthusiasm for learning about her parents waned. If her father hadn' even told her they had the same powers…

Hibiscus then decided to move the topic onto another topic, while Lyka laid face up on her shoulder, "S-So. What's it like in class 2C?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Nuha feared, even saying the magic was about blood was already a big revelation. It's a good thing she never swore to keep any of his secrets. However, she didn't like the fairies reaction tho this revelation. "Mind your language." She scolded the fairy.

As for class C, she shrugged. "Normal, I guess." Saying more would be an invasion of her students' privacy. Not that such a thing would stop her, but it was as good of an excuse as any.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Lyka flipped off the teacher without Hibiscus's knowledge, Hibiscus merely replied, "I-I see…" And after that, Hibiscus was silent, unsure of what to say. Instead, she looked back at the tournament matchups.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the conversation coming to a halt like this, there was no possible recovery. Nuha figured she'd better continue on her own way. "Well, I'll be off, goodbye~"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hibiscus nodded, still looking at the tournament poster. She opened up her phone and messaged three separate people: Londo, Almeida, and Suilen. She asked the three of them if she could watch their tournament battles.

Londo replied that his first battle was already over, but she could watch his solo battle on the first!

Almeida didn't reply for a while.

Suilen didn't reply at all, and wouldn't ever. Hibiscus would later learn that she was no longer at the academy.

Hibiscus then sighed, deciding to go back to her room for now. Nothing happened on the way back, but Hibiscus did check that joy of painting website that she was told to look at earlier. Maybe she'd go to one of these classes someday.

Once she got to her room, Lyka floated out of Hibiscus's pocket, flying to her bed and pillow that she usually rested on.

Hibiscus sat on her bed, sighing once again, thinking about what the professor had said: About how her father had the same type of magic she did. Hibiscus held her phone in front of her, composing a message. Then she sighed for the umpteenth time, laying back on her bed, clicking the send button without looking at it, to her father.

"Why didn't you tell me you had the power of blood?..."

And although Hibiscus texted him this, he did not respond, leaving her to lay on the bed silently, wondering if her father will ever tell her the full story…..

Huh, Almeida wanted to meet Nii-chan? "Mm, okay." Immediately afterwards, there was a popping sound as Almeida suddenly disappeared from the street and the air rushed back into the spot she had been occupying. When Londo asked about who her brother was, she replied with: "Huh? Nii-chan is Nii-chan." A moment of silence followed. "Oh, you mean his human name? People call him Omoikane."

Professor Okamoto
gsaKz4R.jpg

Meanwhile, Professor Okamoto came running back through the sky. "There's no sign of-" *POP* The class's professor vanished in much the same manner as Almeida just had. Perhaps Londo hadn't been expecting her to return so soon.

"Railgun!" The girl spoke a sizable weapon into existence laying against the bench right beside her, muzzle pointing up and back towards the shops behind her.

A wave of energy surged forth from the figure on the rooftop nearby as Mislyte slashed the open air. The magic flew towards the barrel rolling along the ground. While it did sever the rope from the rest of the barrel, it also cut off a piece of the barrel itself. Mislyte's aim wasn't bad by any means, but trying to strike at a small piece of rope from many meters away with something as large as a sword wave was not an easy feat. Merrily, the barrel rolled along (if a barrel was capable of merriment), though now powder was pouring forth from the gap in one corner, leaving piles with periodic gaps as the opening circled around and only occasionally remained close to the ground.

The portal rippled once more, before releasing another goblin from it. And then another. And another. There were already at least six that had come through the portal, and the ripples showed no sign of dying down.

Weapons glinted dully under the streetlights alongside somewhat yellowed fangs as the goblins emerged and began looking around. One screeched in annoyance at seeing that the barrel was still rolling along, though it was about ten meters from colliding with the front of the fire truck.

Action Phase:

Goblins 2 and 3 followed their leader, who had come through earlier and remembered the girl seated on the bench. They turned to their right and began to run towards Londo and Yune.

Meanwhile, Goblins 4, 5, and 6 focused their sights on the other boy close by: Ryan. Chipped swords readied, they began to close in on the boy.

As soon as the teacher appeared, then disappeared, Londo muttered, "Uhhhhh... Oops." As the portal fizzled and more goblins appeared. As well as Yune commanding a Railgun. Things just went from bad to worse didn't they? Londo turned to face the goblins, raising his fists, "Hey uh, Yune. Remember how I said no dangerous things that could destroy stuff? I take that back, aim it at the goblins, not the shops! I'll defend you as best I can."

Action Phase:

"'Nailgun!'" Londo shouted as his word, picturing in his mind's eye the nailgun from quake 4 which could shoot nails and hurt stuff real bad.

Londo took no action, except to be prepared for the sudden beating he was going to take, and yelled at the goblins, "Hey ya green slugs, guess who's mom was slapped on the behind earlier today?[/b]" He said, before raising his left hand to slap his own buttock, then raising his guard again, "Yours, by me!"

"Oh fuck me..." Ozy spat the words out in frustration as Almeida disappeared from view without a trace. That was just perfect. Not to mention shortly after Okamoto appeared and then disappeared just as quickly. Ozy had a very sudden urge to punt londo through the portal, as he was the apparent cause of these problems. "Sniper, machinegunner open fire!" The distinctive sound of a sniper shot and a machinegun firing would be heard immediately: (shot x3 for 12 bullets total, -15 prana to machinegunner) (-5 prana to sniper). The machinegunner aimed his burst of shots at goblin #5's torso, hoping the spread might do some damage to the creature and maybe the other surrounding goblins. The sniper fired his shot at Goblin #1's head.

Reaction & Action Phase:

Hibiscus, upon seeing Almeida's dissapearance, slapped her forehead with her currently free hand, "You have got to be kidding me..." And just sighed when Okamoto appeared just to disappear. This day was not going well at all so far.

Upon the goblins appearing, Hibiscus tsked to herself, then started to move up from her spot, to stand next to the sniper, and using his body as cover in case the barrel currently in between the soldiers exploded. She was also now within range of Londo to use her teleportation in case things got dicey for him. With Almeida gone, there was now only Londo to protect Yune, although he didn't seemed too concerned about her safety, and after seeing how she can make things appear and disappear, Hibiscus was starting to not be too concerned with her either.

Action Phase:

As soon as goblin 6 turns his back or at least gives Mislyte his side/flank, Mislyte would release another void cut at the creature's center of mass.

Things started to get weirder and wierder by the second. From a truck appearing out of nowhere, to people straight up vanishing in an instant. The source seemed to be that strange girl talking to Londo. However, he had no time to admire the show. After a bomb of sorts, which was neutalized, the portal spewed a bunch of goblins. Three of them headed towards him and Kashmir. Remaining observant, Ryan had in mind a rough sense of his teammates' position. Given the distance the little monsters have to cover to reach him or Kashmir, Ryan instead moved a couple of meters to his left along with Kashmir. Essentially giving Oz and Mislyte a clearer shot. Which they both took. Ryan prepared himself as the ranged attacks flew past Kashmir and himself.

Standby

Action Phase
Right after Mislyte and Oz's attacks went past him and into the enemies, Ryan and Kashmir darted towards them from whatever remaining distance there was at that point. Informing his ranged backup "I'm going in!". Picking whatever of the goblins that was the closest as the lucky winner of a double low roundhouse kick, one from each side.
