A soft hum floated in the cool breeze of Spring, the snow finally having melted away any traces of it being there the past few months, leaving the sun's warm rays to gather what was left of the morning dew hanging from all plant life. Taking her time through the valley of woods, a beautiful elf strolled carrying a hand crafted woven basket, swinging it slightly back and forth in her grasp as she smiled; smelling the sweet smell of air. Ah, how she loved the changes of the seasons, it was so beautiful how Mother Nature created such spectacles of wonder every time and no matter how many times her deep blue eyes saw it, it was always breath taking. Then again, it was hardly very surprising considering how most of her species was very in tune with nature itself, even to the point that most could sense the change in the winds, that they could hear the very soft groans and creaks of a tree if it were ill or when a plant was crushed. Yes, woodland elves were very careful and delicate with their surroundings, making sure not to be so greedy and only take what they could get unlike most creatures such as the humans.
Millerna walked carefully, making sure to step on dry soil so as not to ruin her shoes otherwise she'd never hear the end of it from her father,King Albus. While yes she understood the importance of that being a princess one must be sure to be proper and clean, sometimes..the urge to just jump in a mud puddle overcame her; granted having done it eons ago when she was just a tot. But now she wasn't a child anymore, she was adult and that meant she had to keep her appearance at all times. It got dull at times but..if she was good then that meant she was allowed to still keep her freedom and roam about the vast forest landscape known as Eindrel, kingdom of the Elves. Of course there were other species such as Dark elves however..they tended to be very highly scarce if not already extinct.
She continued to hum some more, stopping only when her eyes caught sight of particular herbs that she decided to gather until she came to a halt, noticing a small clearing of light up ahead which meant the princess was nearing quite close to the forest's boundaries. She knew she had to turn back, that this like countless times before would be her cue to come back the way she came..however..curiosity began to prick at the corners of her mind the longer she stood. The princess had never ever been outside of the kingdom before in her life. All she had where stories told by her kind and of the soldiers who'd went out to battle years prior in order to help their allies; described of all the wondrous places beyond and of course the many different other creatures good and bad that dwell on this earth. Including the most gruesome creatures known as Dwarfs which were at this point that everyone including humans knew have a bitter rivalry or feud of sorts with each other.
For a moment, Millerna contemplated what to do. She could just turn back or just take one simple peak. It's not like she was going to go very far and even then she'd be staying for a few minutes. No harm in that. Well..not unless her father or anyone from the kingdom found out about this. She'd surely be kept locked up forever as punishment.Still this did little to quench the dreaded curiosity now and before stepping forward she glanced quickly around her, making sure the king's stealthy archers weren't nearby patrolling this far into the wood before continuing once more on her way.
It took a moment for her eyes to adjust the moment she stepped into the glaring sun, expression slowly turning into awe at what lay before her. From as far as the eye could see where nothing but rolling plains and hills, small tiny formations of human villages far out in the distance scattered across; even further out she could make out snowy rock formations which she decided were what people called'mountains'. Before she could stop herself her feet began to carry her down the slope, drinking in her surroundings and slowly becoming further away from the forest which seemed the least of her concerns at this point now; hands running along the tall meadow grass as a gust of wind blew daffodils into the air; making her giggle in delight. Oh how could her people say being outside of the kingdom was dangerous? To her everything was peaceful and so beautiful, hell even the smaller more rocky hills close by were interesting, having caught sight of a few stray goats hopping about.
(Hope this ok, you don't have to match it all just didn't want to go too far off lol)
