    The room resembled that of a hospital with tall white walls, clean floors, and the smell of powerful antiseptic attacking your senses. A small bed lay within the center of the room, surrounded by machines that all seemed to be connected to the 'patient'. She was young, malnourished, and a sickly pale shade of white. Motionless and silent as doctors periodically came and checked upon vital sign's and the current condition she held. Tubes ran from each forearm and one behind the knee, blood was drawn from her left arm ran through a machine and then circulated back within her body from another tube. As for the third, it was hooked up to an iv filled with sedatives. The process didn't end for a few weeks however the end result was more then they could have hoped for.

    They had known for quite some time that there were those who had 'abillities' how they went about getting them was still a mystery. Scientists pointed to Genetic defects while others claimed radiation, in reality the source remained unknown however the government didn't really find that important. All they knew was somewhere out there, there were people who were dangerous and what they claimed to be unstable. A task force was quickly developed, and after a year of training and organizing the group it seemed they finally had what they needed to begin.. Operation Recall.

    They were subtle about how they attacked this.. infestation. People would suddenly move, their house up for sale or a convinient message sent out to friends and family notifying them that they were going on 'vacation'. If the target wouldn't come willingly, a gas leak caught fire and their house exploded.. or there was a horrible car accident that didn't leave enough evidence behind to determine the cause of death. The task force was incredibly sucessfull and that simply increased it's size, influence, and power. Get ready.. because it won't be long before they come after you.





    Now that the basic introduction is over with, I think you all have a better idea of what this roleplay will entail! Please read all of the following.

    Eyes: A dull blue bordering on grey.
    Distinguishing Marks: Slight facial scarring, three vertical marks raising from her chin to under the eye.
    General Appearance:
    She was hardly intimidating yet there was something very off with the woman before you. Eyes were frigid, cold, and calculating and the way she carried herself screamed of some lesser intentions. She was tall and athletic, physically form was toned to carry a reasonable amount of strength however the main asset she had was speed. If you got in a footrace with this woman, chances would not be looking good.
    Strengths: Speed, Atheleticism, Instincts, Stamina
    Weaknesses:
    Lack of Brute Strength

    MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS

    Aspirations:
    The capture or extermination of those deemed enemy to her superiors.
    Hobbies: Reading, pistol shooting, travel
    Fears/Defects: Monophobia - Fear of being alone, unwanted, or otherwise useless.
    General Personality: Stoic if not silent, responsive generally only to her handlers or superiors and mostly unresponsive to anyone else. Cruel, calculating and intimidating once she makes an encounter.
    Inner Personality: Quiet and reserved. Brainwashed in some sense of the word, she knows very well what she does and what is the result of it however, she believes in self preservation and will look out for herself in almost all situations.

    Weapons: A single 9mm baretta, holstered at her side.Abillities: Sensory abillities, able to detect and track others with abillities. Improved physical cababilities, can run faster and jump higher then most humans can, strength is on par.

    HISTORIC BACKGROUND


    General History:
    She grew up in a middle class family, both parents were honest and hard working. Growing up in the greater Seattle area, they owned a family grocery in the downtown area. It wasn't until she was thirteen that she began exhibiting signs of Leeukemia. Eventually she grew incredibly ill and her parents could no longer afford to pay for medical treatments and tests. They were offered a free expeiramental test that had a low likelihood of success, they agreed and the result was her apparent death.

    Present Life:
    What really happen is that the drug had worked better then they could have imagined, however it came with some obvious side effects. She was almost immidiately taken into government controll and expeiriments had began. She was 'ground zero' so for over four years the studied, analyzed, and recorded progress and behavior. It wasn't until the tests were completed and they began attempting to improve and rework the drug did they find a millitary use for her. She works within a tactical team often deployed within the major cities in the east coast, or wherever a valuable target is designated.

  5. Glad you all think so. Perhaps I should mention this now, I will let some people have two characters.

    I was planning to have another person or two have a character on the government's side as well as having one who is a civilian simply to balance it out a bit more. I will be running the majority of the NPC's and a few main plot characters however if you'd like to play two go ahead and inquire.

    Hair: Red, short, and layered
    Eyes: A light violet
    Distinguishing Marks: A small dragon tattoo underneath her left eye

    General Appearance: Once rather filled out and healthy, Xam has turned into a shadow of what she used to be. Her body is thin, looking as though she is half starved, and the muscle tone that she used to boast is all but gone. Her skin is pale, and overall looks unhealthy. She gives off the air of a runaway child, poor and lost, a set of people that society tries its very hardest to ignore. Which is exactly what she wants.

    Strengths: Subterfuge, larceny, disappearing and hiding.
    Weaknesses: Lack of physical strength, malnutrition, weak constitution

    MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS

    Aspirations: To find a place where she is safe, and to regain her brother.
    Hobbies: Singing, theft, and to everyone who doesn't know, talking to herself.

    [B][COLOR=#00ff00]General Personality:[/COLOR] Xam does her very best to be forgettable to other people, being quiet and distant. She doesn't openly converse with others unless she has to. She also tends to come off as a tad insane to others, as she talks to her shadow frequently.
    [B][COLOR=#00ff00]Inner Personality:[/COLOR] Xamantha is a manipulator. She knows how people think, and isn't above using it to her advantage. She also has a rather loose moral compass, having nothing against the darker side of life. Thievery is her vice.


    [U][B]SPECIALTY CHARACTERISTICS[/B][/U][B]

    [B][COLOR=#00ff00]Weapons:[/COLOR] An assortment of knives that she's stolen or picked up over the years.
    [B][COLOR=#00ff00]Abillities:[/COLOR] The ability to command the shadow's in her area, giving them mass to be able to interact with the world. She is also able to enter into shadows, and move about between them. As long as she is inside a shadow, she cannot be harmed, nor can she interact with the world. If two shadows touch, she can jump between them.

    However, she does not bring other people or living beings into the shadows with her, as she is unable to bring them out with her, and they end up stuck.

    [U][B]HISTORIC BACKGROUND[/B][/U][B]


    [B][COLOR=#00ff00]General History:[/COLOR] Xamantha was the rebel, the girl who broke the law just cause she could, and her twin brother Max was her partner in crime. Xam's powers began to manifest at the age of 18, and quickly began to use them to further her and her brother in their lawbreaking career. On one particular heist, the two were cornered and about to be caught. Not willing to go to jail, Xam brought her and Max into the shadows. They made their way out of the building, before Xam attempted to bring them back out into the world, and found that Max couldn't leave. He has been stuck inside the shadow's ever since, and spends most of his time in her shadow.

    The government found out about Xamantha shortly after, forcing her to run from her home. She didn't tell anyone where she was heading.

    [B][COLOR=#00ff00]Present Life: [/COLOR]For the past four years, Xam has been travelling through the country, using her skills to survive and stay under the radar of the government, though it hasn't been easy. Currently, she is hiding out somewhere in New Orleans.

Once she reached eighteen, legal adult age, she left the country, traveling Europe before meeting her now-fellow band mates in Norway (of course >.>). Moving to America after establishing themselves as Midnight Sun, the group concerted for a while, before emotional differences forced them to disband
    [BLINK]Present Life:[/BLINK] Traveling the country as a rogue musician, and somewhat of a freelance, Jay preforms mostly in coffee shops, private functions, and Renaissance Fairs. She goes whereever the money is coming from, and if she finds a traveling fair, band, or anything else that will take her, she joins with them for a while, before moving on once more. She lives like a gypsy, never staying in one place more than a month.

    This has kept her relatively safe from the government, leaving no trace of where she is going or where she has been. However, she fears that they are catching up with her, and is kind of freaking out.

They wanted to make it big as artists in Toronto, but that dream shortly died after her powers manifested at the ages of 17 and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona to escape the Government. They lived there for a couple of years and Riley was the only one who knew about her powers and urged Alexis to keep developing them, but she was afraid of the Government finding her so she practiced very little.[/B][/B][/B][/B][B][B][B][B][B]

He also has a tendency to flirt with just about every pretty girl he sees (even if he's already taken) and lays it on way too thick for most ladies. He really doesn't understand why he keeps getting rejected, though: in his mind, he's one hot stud. Pun very much intended.
    Inner Personality: Seeking freedom is one thing, but desperation for control is another thing entirely, and a much more accurate description of what's going on in his head. He uses fire as an escape, and takes pleasure in holding power over the very element that represents both life and death simultaneously. Fire is his way of controlling his life, but he can never get enough of it thanks to his unstable lifestyle, hence his addiction to burning things.

    His lucky lighter, which he carries in his pocket at all times (even though he doesn't actually need it)
    Abilities: Control over fire, obviously: he can create it, move it, and put it out with little more than a thought and maybe a showy snap of his fingers for good measure; he can also create localized explosions, though these take a lot longer to charge and leave him pretty exhausted


    HISTORIC BACKGROUND

    General History:
    Flare grew up in New York in a middle-class family ruled by his strict mother and overbearing father, and sought freedom most of his life. He ran away from home and dropped out of school at the age of seventeen, deciding to carve out a new life by stealing. Once his powers showed themselves, he integrated violence into that strategy. After all, it's a lot easier to get food when you threaten to burn the place down, instead of running in with a dull knife, or empty-handed as was usually the case. However, he was forced to run away from New York City when the authorities finally caught up to him, and after a series of carjackings, bus rides, and hitchhiking escapades, he wound up where he is now.

    Present Life: In what has been perhaps one of his greatest displays of self-control ever, he's managed to keep his powers secret, choosing less dramatic schemes of petty theft to keep himself alive. It isn't easy, and he isn't exactly happy with his lifestyle (or his cheap apartment for that matter), but he loves the town. It's so peaceful, and he has all this wilderness nearby to keep him relaxed. Plus, y'know, the occasional "random" forest fire.

    General History: Alice had a pretty normal childhood in Pawlet. She enjoyed playing with her friends and learning. She tended to be more of a wild child and was always dragging her friends into "adventures" no matter the season or weather. When she was ten she got lost in some woods during a thunder storm and this gave her her fear. As Alice got older, she craved wanting to go elsewhere. She learned guitar at eleven and piano at eight and has always loved making music, wanting to pursue something in those lines. Alice learned of her abilities around puberty, but barely showed them. She met a boy around fifteen who had abilities named Jay, but he was soon captured by the government, causing Alice to become more fearful and wanting to find a place to hid. She got her tattoo at the age of eighteen for the boy.


    Present Life: Alice is trying to lose herself in the city of Los Angeles, so that no one could ever be able to track her down properly. Although she has not left the city, she has moved a lot.     General personality: Cora is generally a very calm, agreeable person; she will rarely get into arguments, preferring instead to just walk away and distance herself from the problem. In fact, Cora distances herself from most everything and everybody, although if the situation demands it she will calmly and dutifully interact with her fellow humans. When upset, however, Cora is virtually inconsolable, and can only be brought back to her usual tranquil state by someone who is very tranquil themselves.
    Inner personality: On the inside, Cora is plagued with self-doubt and worry, along with all of her other emotions that she has to bottle up as a result of her power.

    SPECIALTY CHARACTERISTICS

    Special items: She carries around a small, grey pebble- or whatever sort of smooth object she can find. It calms her down to hold it in her hand.
    Weapons: Has basic self-defense skills, can use a gun but doesn't own one
    Abilities: Cora's power deals with the human mind. She can vaguely read others' minds if they lack self-control, and her own emotions tend to influence others' while she is around them. Cora can also use telepathy to some extent, although it won't work well if another person's head is overly crowded or clouded by alcohol. She has tried mental illusions/projections on others, but they are difficult to orchestrate and she can't use them effectively.

    HISTORIC BACKGROUND

    General history: Cora grew up in Chicago with two abusive, alcoholic parents, although she quickly realized how different she was from them. This difference first manifested itself as what seemed to be an enormous intelligence, but Cora discovered that her smarts came from "reading" those around her. Still, she advanced quickly through her education, graduating high school at age fourteen. Her parents were unsure of what to do with her after that, as neither of them had gone to college, but Cora knew exactly what she wanted- to escape her family and try living a little. She ran away from home -not before becoming emancipated- and is now living on her own, albeit not comfortably or particularly happily.
    Present life: Cora was basically homeless for about a year, but then joined a traveling circus as a mind reader/fortune teller.

    I will be especially careful not to god-mod or power play with this character, but if you disprove of her power I can easily change it :}
