Salem woke slowly from his sleep, whining into his pillow all the while. He had been rolling over and going back to sleep all morning, but now the sun has managed to find it's way to cast rays of light over his face. This made sleeping in any longer an impossible task. He'd have much rather stay'd in bed this morning, in an effort to elevate his pounding headache. He retired to bed a little later then what was smart the night before, as he had been busy star gazing, and was now regretting the choice he had made. The sun made it's stance on the matter of him staying in bed quite clear, so with a loud groan he raised from the bed.
He cast his blurry gaze around the room, and was knocked a little off kilter when he couldn't see any of his normal nick-nacks. It took him several moments, in fact, to remember he was at home but instead in the Abrielle kingdoms guest house. You'd think after being here since he had met Loreli, in order to court her in person rather then through letters, he'd remember he was staying here; but most days he's still wake up thinking it was just a rather wonderful dream. After all Loreli, well, Loreli was a dream.
When he had met Loreli she was, well, not what he was expecting. When he had come to Abrielle he had expected someone a little more like her older sister Elizabet. He had been overly pleased to find Loreli was a girl of her own. She was fun, and bright, and my god, his little Lori was beautiful. He had quickly taken to teasing the pinkette, loving the way her face would like up in rosy tones of pink and red. He had found he could sometimes take it to far however, and she would flee from him in anger or embarrassment, he could never really tell which, and he would give her time a space. Not for long, however, as he would later in the day be moved to a gesture of apology. Be it appearing with chocolates and a nervous grin, showing up with one of her favorite books and asking her to read it aloud for him, unexpectantly sweeping her up to dance to music only he could here as he whispered apologizes, or just showing up with a single flower while shuffling around nervously. Honestly, how she forgave him he would never know. He was Awful at apologizes.
Oh, look at him, he was a mess! He wakes of first thing then thinks about the girl about he's fallen for to the point he's embarrassed with himself! Shaking his head to clear it he rolled from the bed and made his way to the basin of water to clear his face of sleep. He then began to move threw his morning rituals to make himself presentable for the day. He then set out through the halls to track someone, anyone down. Once he had found a companion for the morning he would stop by the dinning room or the kitchens at his stomachs very loud request. He was, however, a little taken a back. He couldn't seem to find anyone but servants, all of who whispered gossip excitedly under their breaths. They were all much to quiet for Salem to hear, but he did manage to piece together that something was wrong with one of Loreli's sisters. Judging by the scandalized way the whispers sounded, he could hazard a guess that it was the sister who always smelt faintly of booze.
He figured he might as well go see what the fuss was about and made his way to the princesses wing, and sure enough there was a crowed room with hushed arguing issuing from him. Look at Salem figuring out puzzles, really, he might as well be a detective with that big problem solving brain of his. He moved in closer and peered into the room through the slightly open door. Really you think they out to have the sense to keep it closed! ...then again looking at the surplus of people it could get a bit claustrophobic if they did. But sure enough, thats where everyone seemed to had gone a crammed themselves. Into this one room. Oh look! It's Loreli! ....now wouldn't be the right time to wave at her would it? No, he supposed not, and as such resisted the urge.
