~Ashbourne Town~
~History/Information~
"A long time ago the town of Ashbourne was far from the peaceful site it had become today. Demons of all levels plagued the lands and let it in ruin, mortals left to cower in fear and hide in the shadows as prey or in the rare case, to try and even fight to survive as predator. Though they could do very little. Mortals had no way to combat the malicious demons, their limitations being their weakness.
Demons, not needing food other than the consumption energy that would originate from souls, emotions and even memories, did not find amusement in the human's need for it and so would often make their prey suffer more when they would burn down farming fields and crops, if only to watch their hope vanish.
Years would slowly pass and there seemed to be no hope as few weapons would cause a wound that would not heal within moments of it being inflicted. Bodies would line the pavement of the dimly lit towns, filled only by the faint but hopeless screams of those that still lived. Mortals were slowly pushed back into a corner into a cold corner of their land, where they created a town, a home.
They, for a while, were left in peace to live their lives before they were once again plagued by the trouble of demons. However, this time the seven that controlled them would step out of their shadows and to the front lines, the first revelation of the 'Seven deadly Sins' who slowly began to notice the increasing gathering of mortals in this often icy town by the ocean. Though, out of their own ignorance, they left the humans alone for a while.
When the time came, Seven people stepped forwards, their families having descended from creatures that once rivaled the demons, and they asked the heavens above to give them strength, to give them a way to fight their opponents with defeat in sight. They had only an old diary written by Arius' and Angela Cohen's grandfather that spoke of magic, spells and seals.
They spent years practicing this craft, mastering the strength they were gifted through their bloodlines.
When the Sins got word, they themselves appeared before the city with intentions only to burn the homes and belongings of these very people. Arius and Angela Cohen stepped forwards along with their cousins, Blake and Darren Nolan, Erika Grehe and Michael and Samuel Lialrus. The battle quickly ensued.
It took what seemed like forever. The sins had defeated a mass of the four families, few lived and many of those who did were wounded. The seven stood tall but exhausted, the sins having seemed to fall to a similar state. Shockingly the sins, in their exhaustion, befall a trap set out for them. With little energy to fight against the 'blessed' weapons, they were sealed, each respectively into a object that would be, for many years, layered with hundreds of seals.
Over the generations, children of these four families were trained as hunters, protecting Ashbourne with their lives. Those with minor presences of magic or average were made hunters, the rare cases where they exceeded average strength, were made into priests and priestess' who were left in charge of keeping the Sin's sealed and helping the town in whatever ways they can. It was also one of the first priests that discovered that those with magic laying in their blood, could contract a familiar, a demon to serve them.
They found out in recent years as technology developed that due to the presence the sealed sin's leaked, some of those birthed to these four lineages would hold the symbol of a sin. So they were ordered to undergo the 'trial'. Brought into a room with the Hunter's priests and priestess', they were urged to try and form a familiar contract with one of the sins by summoning them from their objects.
All so far failed.
However, It is time for the next seven to step up.

~General Information~
This Roleplay is about the next set of seven hunters who are put up to the 'Trial' to see if they are the ones to tame the sealed sins and the sins themselves. They can originate from either of the four families but will have the mark of their chosen sin partner somewhere on them. As using familiars have become a main method of their hunting in recent years, they will team up, all together, to keep Ashbourne safe from threats that lurk just outside the barrier. Some of the Hunters may even have enough strength to have their own minor ability.
- Technology similar to that of today is present in this Roleplay.
- Hunters aim to destroy and hunt down demons that pose threats to them and their town. They don't often deal with the lower class ones unless they are in groups. They will destroy any demon though.
- Demon's they take as familiars will have been defeated and sealed. Then taken back to the Networks priests who will craft the ceremony to bond mortal and demon.
- It is rare for a hunter to have a ability and when they do it wont be overly strong due to the strength of their blood being weakened over generations.
- In some rare cases, those born into these families seem to develop a stronger affinity to magic and abilities linked to their heritage, these are the priests and priestess'. They are said to have 'Stronger blood'.
- Each family does not need to contract the same demon that their ancestor sealed. The marks characters are born with are due to the influence of the sealed sins collectively and so can be any. For example, Erika Grehe sealed Greed but a descendant of her could be born with a mark of a different sin.
- Hunters do not accept anyone making normal contracts with demons where souls, memories or emotions are paid as a price as they only empower demons in result.
- The sins, if willing, can impart some of their power to their 'masters' temporarily.
- Sins as familiars, do not have to obey all words spoken orders by their 'master', only if spoken while their seal is invoked.
- Sins can use loopholes in orders.

~Hunters~
Hunters are those descendant from a ancient race that once opposed the demons and so are gifted with above average strength, speed, endurance etc. Though this pales in comparison to high ranking demons, it is still a large benefit to them. Those that have 'Stronger blood' may even hold some minor ability in them, though it will not be overly powerful. These may be abilities such as an affinity to an element, enhanced healing capabilities and in rare cases, abilities that somehow change their physical appearance such as shape shifting.
The Cohen Family is the Head of the 'Hunters Network'.

~Sins~
The Seven Sins are dangerous creatures, housing the most absurd and powerful abilities. Few demons in the highest ranks can battle them on equal footing. They each have general abilities being enhanced strength that stands high above mortals and the average demon. They have the ability to shape shift, though only few of the sins will have refined this skill to a level they can go as far as change their gender or become something far out of their own sizes. They have fast healing capabilities that they cannot share as a skill. It works in a process, healing the more lethal wounds first so the Sins may be seen with minor injuries quite often.
Each Sin has one specific ability to themselves.

Familiar contract and Regular contract between Demon/Sins and Mortals
* Contract: A demon creates a deal with a human/mortal, where in return for granting a desire, they will aquire a part of the human'. For small wishes, it may be just an emotion or strong memory. Those that desire darker things, wishes that are grave or even border on sin, often cost souls. In some cases, demons have asked to aquire souls from more than just their contracted mortal. Humans will descend into insanity this way.
* Familiar: A demon becomes binded to a mortal, often hunters due to their knowledge and power, by a trial. Demons that are sealed can be forced to create a bond with a mortal through rituals/ceremonies preformed by a priest/priestess. The human will often by assaulted mentally and emotionally by the demon in an attempt to weaken them as to escape, though there are rare cases where the mortal's strength dominates and so their escape is unsucessful. Due to this, a familiar bond is formed when the human grasps at the demons power. A symbol representing the demon will form if succesful and the demon is a 'named' demon. Demons/Sins who are familiars do not automatically obey commands due to the bond, instead only at times of the human activating the medium object do commands become unavoidable.
