The Septem
Long ago, the world was one. People lived together despite their differences. The rulers, a set of people known as The Regulators, were all different in nature, but that was what allowed them to come to decisions together.
For a short while, at least.
There was a man, named Valentine, who saw the world through a different lens. He saw the world as divided, or rather, he saw that that was what it should be. Some people were good. Some people were incapable of being good. And Valentine felt that being put together was not the way it should be. If they were separated, then the bad would be where they belong and the good would live in peace and harmony. He, of course, was one of the good. Or so he thought.
He slowly got the word spread around and this ignited trouble in various parts of the land. Eventually The Regulators were unable to control things so they were forced to come to an agreement since the fighting seemed to be against certain types of people.
So they devised a plan to split the world into two, and in each half, were seven other places that people would be categorized into. A test was conducted on all citizens to analyse their behavior before placing them into their rightful land. Families were broken apart, but the war was, for now, eradicated. Each Regulator was also assigned an area to watch over, thus splitting them up as well. For years, things worked out okay enough. Valentine was not sorted anywhere because he disappeared into the forests that surrounded the land. It's a place nobody dares to go, merely because many myths have been told about it, and none of them end well. Things were running smoothly and peace had been attained.
Until darkness fell.
Somehow, mysteriously, a child from each sector, both sins and virtues, was taken away in the middle of the night. Nobody knows where or how. Nobody but the kids when they grow up to their pre-teen years in the forests that surround the land. That's when they're sent back to their homes, much to the surprise of everyone else. And what's more surprising? The fact that they have now come back with supernatural abilities. Nobody had ever heard of such things happening since centuries ago. There were legends about people of certain sins and virtues having certain powers, but when that species was eradicated, there were no more.
The Regulators obviously assumed that this was the work of Valentine, even though he was long ago assumed to be dead. But if he was capable of this, then he was capable of more. So their plan was to use what was given to them as defense. These fourteen children were allowed to grow till their teenage years, even though there were a couple of accidents with their powers. At the time they turned eighteen, it was clear that they needed to control the abilities they possessed, but since nobody else had powers it was hard to train them. Only the Regulators were somewhat well versed about the mythology of those that used to possess such abilities centuries ago, and with that knowledge they must try and help these fourteen learn to wield their power properly, and they must do it before Valentine returns, and darkness is cast over the world permanently.
So this is just a rough idea of the lore but it will basically be about one person of each sin and virtue, acquiring some power. They will have no memory of how this happened or about their time in the forest and the roleplay will begin with them arriving at No Man's Land, which is between the division of the sins and virtues. A castle lies there, which used to be the headquarters for the Regulators when everyone lived together, and since it is unoccupied they will be using it for the duration of the training.
