PLOT:
Hamilton Village is known as a bright and sunny location. Vacationers come far and wide to bask in the gorgeous sands and hike the forest pathways. Visitors also come to the coastal town to experience the paranormal haunts have to offer. After two twins return to the town of their childhood, it becomes apparent that things have changed. Hamilton Village has become much darker than it once was.

While the twins were away, living with their mother in England, their childhood friends discovered a secret that links all the families together. Witchcraft. For thousands of years, witchcraft has been apart of societies in secret, especially Hamilton Village. The teens learn of their parents' involvement in witchcraft, but not the reason as to why they stopped practicing or tried to bury the past. Making a packed to practice in secret they did so until the twins returned.

In the book, it is said that seven families make up the circle (one of those family would contain a set of twins), if and when it is complete the circle would be at it's highest potential. Convincing the twins of witchcraft will be one thing, but getting them participate is another; however, it is vital to stop whatever evil is lurking in Hamilton Village.

Childhood: Rosalina Eliza Carrington became pregnant in her senior year in high school by a boy she thought loved her. Kyle Hastings came from a rather dark family. When he learned of Rosalina's pregnancy, he wanted nothing to do with her or the children. Broken hearted and torn down, Rosalina found herself alone until she met Jose. The two hit it off immediately and to Rosalina's surprise, Jose didn't mind her being pregnant with twins. When the twins were born, Rosalina placed Jose on the birth certificate and that was that. Jose was the twin's father. The two married a year later and the family now shared the same last name.

The twins grew up being involved in their community. Mariana exhibited a love for athletics rather early in her life, whereas her sister did not. After school, Mariana attended sports like soccer, gymnastics, and volleyball. Sports became her passion and she knew that she wanted to join the sports world one day as a career.

The twin's father, Jose, died when they were just seven years old. He worked in the shipyard most evenings and one night a fire broke out in the old boathouse. Their father was trapped inside and was burned alive. After his funeral, Rosalina escaped Hamilton Village and whisked Mariana and her sister to upstate New York. Mariana left behind her friends in Hamilton Village.


Recent years: The last few years have been focused on making the most of her high school experience. Day and night, Mariana trained to achieve a sports scholarship in either Volleyball or Soccer, it was the only way she could afford to attend a college. Mariana wished to major in sports medicine with a minor in Anatomy Physiology. Only through college could she achieve her dream. It came as a shock when her mother stated that their grandmother had passed and left the house to them. She knew her mother was struggling with paying for a two bedroom apartment in upstate New York by herself, but still, it felt unfair that Mariana had worked so hard and would now have to start all over.

Protesting that she could stay with Granpa Felix, Mariana wanted to stay at her school and finish her senior year strong with the team she had helped build; however, her mother had the final say. Packing up and leaving for Hamilton Village, Mariana only saw one bright side... At least she gets her own room.​

Childhood:
Hailey had grown up in a different house hold then her friends. When her mother was not around her father would abuse her and her brother, when her brother and mother were not around it had gotten worse verbal, physical and mental abuse. She dealt with it all her life never told any one about it. One day when she came home from school her, house was eerily quite. She walked the house calling out "Mom, Shane any one here." She said. Stopping when she heard the back door swinging back and fourth Hailey went to it, it was unlatched and the wind had taken to making it swing back and fourth and squeak. Looking out she saw the grey sky, nothing no one was in the back yard. Closing and locking the screen door she also closed and locked the back door. Making her way up the steps she heard a dripping in the tub, in her parents bedroom. Going to check the handle was locked.

Hailey went scrounging for the lock picks she kept on hand and picked the door open. She had to put the sleeve if her sweatshirt down over her hand and over her nose and mouth. Blood splattered the walls and pooled around the bedroom. The door was half cracked and she went to it nudging it open with a a sleeved arm and stopped when a limp hand fell out with a dead thud. Gulping and peaking around the corner she saw the long smooth hair of her mother. She stepped back and ran down the steps half stumbling. She grabbed the phone and dialed 911.
" 911 what's your emergency?" The calm voice on the other side said."Please you need to help my mother. I think she is dead. I came home from school the back door was open and then I went upstairs and blood every where." Hailey said quickly."Okay ma'am you need to calm down and tell me where you live." The operator said. Hailey breathed in and told her quickly. She waited on the line till she heard police and ambulance and saw them. When they pulled up they put her in the back of a police car for safety one of the officers stood watch as others went into her house.

The police talked to her and left her in her father's hands who said he just gotten home. However Hailey had a feeling he was lying to save his own skin. Something about this seemed off. She hated it and wouldn't stop fighting her father. Even though he abused her in every way possible.
Recent years:
Since her mother's death, her brother has moved out of the house and she stayed at his place. Now that she was 18. She often spent her time with the circle or with Meredith her good luck happy charm.

When she found out about her power she been walking the woods alone. Her hands went to a tree and vines started to curl and constrict around the tree. She looked up suprised and confused and pulled her Hands back as the vines fell to the forest floor. She got the text from Merry and looked at it, thats when she became apart of the secret circle.

She now lives with her brother and is trying to do her best to get over the abuse in her life until her father decides to try to get into her life. She said she call the cops if he didn't stay away from her. Her life is a bit better with magic and living with her brother,but even she wasn't fully better yet it's only been a small while that she lived with him . She was still trying to deal with the ptsd and new foundly.

Growing up, Jordan could have easily been described as the reckless outcast. He was different from the others, talking about things nobody had ever heard of due to his love for reading obscure and unheard of books, along with encyclopedias. He was always the type to have his nose in a book and the only time he spoke was either to let out some of the sarcasm he keeps pent up -- because really, it's all he knows how to speak -- or to argue -- which he does quite a lot.

His parents were always kind to him, and being the eldest, he had his fair share of the spotlight till his younger siblings came along. He never minded when they got more attention, and he doted on them too. It was one of the rare times any of his few friends could see him showing some affection or speaking in a much kinder tone rather than being extremely blunt.

His mother died when he was twelve, with his youngest sibling only two at the time, and he took the loss very hard since he was closest to his soft, carefree mother as compared to his stern but protective father. He fell into a period of depression, and around the same time each year, he gets a little low.

Recent years
Now in high school, Jordan is easily one of the smartest kids around, while also being one of the least popular. He still has a fascination with books, and he also developed a liking to computer engineering as well as coding. There isn't a thing on the computer he doesn't know how to do or fix, and he spends a majority of his time developing applications instead of trying to make friends.

BACKGROUND
CHILDHOOD YEARS
Born and raised in good ol' Hamilton Village, Ignatius "Iggy" Hellfire was always a unique and wild kind of child. He was also very special; being not only the youngest child of The Hellfire family, but also the only male child of any Hellfire lineage for almost ten years. He would be the only male to carry on the legendary and infamous Hellfire last name. It would take several more years before he truly found out how special he really was.

Even before discovering the magic held deep inside of him, Iggy always felt a connection to fire and flames. There was just something about a campfire that caught his attention. Some would think he was a Pyromaniac in the making but that's not what it was. He just didn't know until later in his young adult life.

As Iggy grew up, his two older sister, Helena and Agnes would always pick on him and treat him like the ugly stepbrother. There was a drastic age different between the two sisters and Iggy. They were plus ten years older than him, so he was always and will forever be treated like their baby brother. Which he was, but they pushed the baby part too much.

When he couldn't find a safe zone in his own home, Iggy would spend time at his friends houses. He hated being at home and whenever he got the chance, Iggy would ask one of his friend's if he could stay the night. It was usually Junie's house. Iggy and Junie were always the closes. They were best friends and those two were inseparable when it came to causing trouble for the entire group.

Around six years old was when Iggy and the rest of his friends started breaking off after Mari and Izzy moved away. Though Iggy stayed in touch with Junie as they grew into young teenagers, things just never felt the same. Iggy started hanging with a different crowd of friends and the only person that he kept in touch with from his old group of friends was Junie, and that was pretty much it. Until things started changing and he needed his old friends back in his life.

RECENT YEARS
As he grew up, Iggy became the typical playboy jock. Becoming Quarterback of his High School's Football Team and already campaigning for Prom King, which was a year away for him. While he was leaving the High School American Dream, his old group of friends barely spoke to him and only saw him around the popular kids. He barely spoke to any of them and when he walked by a few, Iggy pretended not to know them.

Though when he started feeling an odd sensation inside of him everytime he was around an open fire, like the flames spoke to him, he knew something was up. He tried to ignore it and be rational, thinking maybe he was a Pyromaniac but then one day things changed completely.

Iggy was at home and his older sister, Agnes came to visit him and their mother. Of course the second she got the chance, Agnes decided to pick on him and call him baby brother and make fun of his hair. He tried to block her out like he use to, but that day, something in him snapped. Thinking bad thoughts, instantly the plants next to Agnes caught on fire. After that, the anger he had seemed to disappear. His mother and Agnes reacted to the fire as any normal person would, running to get a glass of water to put the fire out. They didn't know what to make of it, but ever since that day, Iggy has tried to rationalize what happened, but he could never find a logical answer.

It only took a few more days when he got a call from one of his old friends, Meredith. When the entire group got together at the old abandoned Boathouse. When all of his friends spoke of weird things happening and how each of them had some element that tied to their families and talk of magic, Iggy nearly lost his mind over the conversation.

Eventually he was brought back down to earth and was convinced that maybe all of this magic was real and maybe he actually did cause that fire.

As the days and months went on, the group became connected once again. This time over their shared experience with magic and the elements. They all vowed to keep this a secret and there was no way Iggy would tell his mother anything, and especially not his sisters.

Now growing into his powers and learning more magical spells that revolve around fire, Iggy is still campaigning for Prom King and looking forward to what life has for him. Not thinking of any of the bad things to come, especially with this entire Book of Magic Spells and family ties. Not the mention The Twins coming back into town. The wild child might have to learn to control not only his powers, but his actions if he wants to survive this long battle ahead of him and the entire group.

To add icing to the cake, he was rather sickly, another reason no one, not even the girls liked to play with him.His parents were rather overprotective. Still, he was lucky enough have a few friends. The reason he had a chance to be their friends because their parents were. Still, he was grateful for it. Everything changed when he and his father went out together to get a gift for his mother's birthday. He was only six at the time, but they got into a car accident and his father died while he was left mortally injured. The following days to come had been a struggle for both he and his mother. And he honestly can't remember the circumstance of the accident. The person who hit them was never found. After that, he was forever changed. Because of the absence of his father, he made it his duty to be extra good to his mother. Being his mother, she made it easy, she supported them by herself and always still made time for him. Unfortunately, they didn't get much support from family members because his mother was an orphan and his grandparents from his father's side only promised to help if he was sent to live with them, for they blamed his mother for his father's death. So, they only had each other. Three years after the accident, his mother remarried. Naturally, he was reluctant to it at first, but he grew to love his stepfather. Soon they were thicker than leaves, honestly, they could have been any other father and sun. Unfortunately, along with a new father came new siblings. And like his father, at first, he didn't want another sibling until they were actually born. His parents were never stingy when it came to him, but they were strict. He had so many classes to go to even after school. His mother thought it important to have hobbies and learn other skills public school couldn't teach him. Junie was certain if there was a private school around, she would have him attend that. They were alll just too different and with the twins gones things would never be the same. The ony person he had any real contact with was Iggy. It was impossible to sever the years of friedship they had, but even still, Iggy started running with a different crowd. Not to mention, Junie was always busy. He was the stereotypical asian rich kid with responsibilites he had to hold up to with his parents. His mother signed him for so many after school classes that he barely had time to make friends. He joined the music club, the art club and more. He had to keep his grades up in order to keep his mothe roff his back. And the only friends he had were those in the music club. Honestly, he often got into trouble because of his mischevious side, something he had even as a sweet boy. His life took a huge turn when he discoverd his powers. It was the little things at first, gust of winds knocking things over when the window wasn't open. Then it happened. It was on the day of his first recital,he was supposed to perform in front his entire family and friends and a lot of people in general. But the maestro cut him out and replaced him with another person because he was panicking too much. He was known to have anxiety issues ever since his father passed. He returned hom on his own and his fit of anger his powers activated and very obviously this time. It was as if he as in the middle of a tornado as the wind whipped around him and practically destroyed his bedroom, all of his things floating around him at an incredble spee. He had never been more terrified. Then he got a call from Meredith, his old friend. They all met up at the boat house and he was even more surprised and relieved to know he wasn't the only one experiencing the weird pheneomens. When they learned the truth of their powers being in the book, he knew he wanted to keep them, harness them, it was his birth right after all. They had all spent the year using their powers and it was plus to once again be close to his friends, particularly, Iggy. Childhood: Meredith McDowell was born and raised in Hamilton Village. Having lived in the coastal town all her life, Merry had a love for the sea. Whether it was combing the beaches, taking boat rides, or simply swimming, she was doing it since she was a child. Pool parties were common in her youth. She couldn't imagine life without her circle of friends. That's exactly what she faced when she was seven: something happened between their parents. They were together one day, and the next…they weren't.

Recent years: Meredith was living the typical high school life. She focused on grades, her weekend job as a pool lifeguard, and the school swim team. All that changed one day when she followed a dolphin into an abandoned boat house. Though the dolphin disappeared, she instead found a chest. Of course, curious as to why a lone box was left here, she opened it. In it was an aging tome: the Book of Shadows as it was called. Like the proverbial Pandora's Box, Merry started reading from.

That's when all the weird started happening.

At first, she noticed water around her would feel more viscous, especially when she focused intently on it. She was cleaning a spill when the water would float from the carpet and straight to the towel in her hand. The incident really freaked her out. Merry went immediately to her phone and contacted her old elementary school friends in a group text: their family names were in the book. It turned out they too were experiencing the same…weird, though with different elements. Merry told them to meet her at the old abandoned boat house, where she revealed everything. Blaming herself for getting all of them into this mess, she vowed to find a way to fix them. To her surprise, none of them wanted to be fixed. In fact, they swore Meredith to secrecy: none of this was to be revealed to their parents. At first, Merry was hesitant; this was dangerous stuff they were playing. If someone got seriously hurt, it would be on her. Then again, this was the first time they were meeting like this in years. It felt nostalgic. She agreed to keep their secret, under the condition that they practice together in case something goes wrong.

That was how "Book Club" began. It was the code word Merry would tell her parents whenever the group went to practice with the Book of Shadows.

Months passed and the teens grew in competency of their elements. Merry was enjoying her new powers, despite initial rejections. Reality hit her during the finals of the tristate swim competition. Meredith was fighting for first, the crowd roaring in excitement. Just as she thought her opponent would edge her out, Merry felt the water push her forward. It was enough: the Hamilton Village Sea Stars would claim a giant gold trophy for all the school to see. Many said it was a miracle. Meredith knew better: it was cheating. She used her magic to take unfair advantage. She quit the team soon after; Merry couldn't risk losing control like that again. To this day, she would refuse to visit the trophy in the school hall. She didn't deserve it.

Meredith would be entering her senior year uncertain about the future. It was college application time; she was planning on going out-of-state. This would likely dampen everyone's magic: they seemed to work best together. Though she hoped to make the most of the time she had left with them, Merry did not anticipate old friends reappearing in her life. That was only a taste of what was to come…

Jeremiah brought Zion home to his other five kids who welcomed him with open arms. (Well...Some of them took awhile to come around).

Zion's childhood was full of competition for the affection of his father who always seemed to be either working or looking for a new wife. After multiple failed attempts to get one on one time with his dad or even a pat on the head, Zion turned his attention to his siblings who had figured out long ago that Luther Hunter's fatherly affection did not exist. Once he got on the 'our dad's a bit of a douche' train, Zion began getting along better with his siblings. The six Hunter siblings would often go camping (this was one of the rare things that their father had actually spent time with them on) or go on ATV joyrides. The siblings were kind of wild children and they enjoyed the uninhibited lifestyle.

Recent years: Due to all his siblings being older than him and having to go to college and/or get into their careers, Zion eventually found that he had more alone time. Of course he spent a fair amount of time wreaking havoc hanging out with his best friends, Junie and Iggy and the rest but he also spent a lot of time in the forest running barefoot through the trees, crawling into caves and sometimes seeing how high he could climb the tallest trees. During one of these expeditions, something absolutely insane happened. Zion was pulling himself up into a tree, climbing higher than he'd ever gone, when suddenly his hand missed a branch and he found himself falling. Panic surged through him and smothered his vocal chords. His only thoughts were 'If I fall in a forest and no one's around, will anyone find me?' but to his shock, he didn't fall. The tree he had been scaling, released a deafening creak and shot out a branch to coil around Zion and lower him to the ground gently. Instead of running scared, Zion laid there for awhile, staring up at the sky before he scrambled to his feet and dug his fingers into the dirt around the trees roots. He closed his eyes, praying for what just happened to not have been a dream...And when he opened them, he found that soft green moss was creeping up the tree trunk.

Zion left the forest that day knowing that he couldn't keep this to himself, so he told the two people that he trusted the most; Iggy and Junie and to his delight, he found out that they along with the rest of their childhood friends had experienced similar phenomena.


Though finding out that he's magical is revolutionary and thrill inducing, Zion is still a teenager and currently, he's kind of failing everything in school. He skips a lot (to run in the forest and practice magic) and he falls asleep in most of his classes (due to the latter activities). His counselors keep threatening him with being held back if he doesn't find a tutor but his siblings are telling him not to sweat it because their dad will 'take care' of it. So naturally, Zion went straight to Jordan and practically begged him to be his tutor.
