Oh, jeez. I didn't realize that I left her age at 15. Most of this was copied-and-pasted from another thread that I was in where that would have been acceptable. I had to lob parts of it off to make it thread-appropriate, but I forgot about the age bit. Thanks for the reminder, I'll change it as soon as I can. ^^

I'm working on my character. Since I got the void creature, my character doesn't have to be humanoid, right? And also can the void creatures shapeshift at will or do they just select one form?

Okay, edit complete. Tell me if anything else needs to be changed. ^^

I've lost interest in draegarians, could I be some kind of ghoul/ghost/spirit?

@Snowday - Things look fine in your profile. No problems that I can see that stands out. I'll add Atlys to the Cast List.

That's one thing that I have overlooked when I was updating the Void Creatures. They mostly go into humanoid form, but I can see one of the creatures being something else from that. As for shapeshifting, they mainly just select one form, but they use the Void matter that they are made of to create things that they specifically need for a specific situation. Shape shifting tends to be more towards Nature magic.

While I am not 100% in doing something along the lines of something undead that is sentient as it deviates away from the controlling nature of Necromancy (plus I don't know how that's going to fit into the Precendatas as they've got to have a spirit to cast magic), I can't really say no as a Lich-type character is fine for the RP. There are also living constructs which a character could be based on. I'll just need to have a look at the character if it is created (so feel free to create a character of your choosing) and see if it feels right for the RP.

Also for future people who are thinking or are in the process of making a character for the RP, please can you make your characters male (despite the funny comments about Auroreon having a harem for the RP) to balance out the genders.

Wonderful! I'll do that as soon as I can!

General Information.

Character Name: Umbra Ultionem.
Age: N/A.
Race: Spirit.
Gender: Male.
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual.
Physical Characteristics.
Height: 6'3"

Weight: 0lbs
Eyes: Light blue.
Hair: Light blue.
Appearance: Although his appearance can vary dramatically, he usually keeps one shape he's comfortable with. A very lithe body build lacking much muscle definition and fat. Empty, light blue spheres fill his eye-sockets, with close enough attention you may see a small white circle where one would expect the pupil. He has a cross cut scar over his chest where his heart would be, now no more that two feint white lines over the sea of ghostly blue. His attire is made up of spirit in the same way he is, he can change it just like his appearance but will often be found wearing one of two sets of clothing. When hunting you will often find him wearing clothes like this:

and will be usually wearing black formal suit and tie attire when not hunting a target.

Mental Characteristics

Outer Personality: Umbra often changes between two personalities depending on who he's with or what he's doing. If he's currently hunting someone he will be stern, devoted, professional, unmerciful and nigh unstoppable. If he's relaxed or simply going about his normal business he's much more approachable and old fashioned, though will still act very hard hearted.
Inner Personality: He's very confused on the inside, he's seen the world change over at least one hundred years and doesn't quite keep up. He doesn't quite act like an old human does but he still finds things difficult, such as socialising. He is very aware of how different he is to everyone else and how terrifying he must be to others and always bares that in mind.
Aspirations: To one day find love and destroy those who betrayed him.

Traits

Strengths:
  • Undead: Being a spirit has it's upsides and downsides. The fact he is undead means he's very hard to kill and can read other's spirits for surface information or memories.
  • Intelligent: Having lived for so long, he's gained a lot of intelligence of the years. Although his knowledge of very modern ideals is limited, he knows a lot about the past.
  • Semi-Ethereal: Umbra is a spirit and as such is partially ethereal. He can pass through materials at one point but interact with them the next.
Weaknesses:
  • Stubborn: Argue or offend him, I dare you. (I double dare you motherf**ker!)
  • Undead: As I said, time for the weaknesses! Spirits are the creation of necromantic magic, Umbra being kept alive by particularly strong necromantic magic, however this does mean all the weaknesses apply, such as light magic, holy things, vacuum cleaners, the ghost busters etcetera etcetera.
  • Stuck in the past: Umbra has a lot to catch up on when it comes to modernisation. He doesn't understand most new ideals, socialisation skills, he barely even knows what's right and wrong any more.

Fears:
  • Death: Although slightly ironic, he doesn't want to die, fully. This fear is one of the few reasons he still exists.
  • Forgetting: He likes who he was and never wants to lose that. His memories are all that holds any worth to him now.
  • Failing: Failing a pact means becoming weaker and as such, causes more pact failing until eventually he ceases to exist.

Talents:
  • Shape shifting: Being made of spirits means you're very malleable, due to this he's very good at changing what he looks like.
  • Specialized combat: Being dead gives you a long time to train and he is spectacularly good with his rapiers and his crossbow. He's pretty bad with anything else though.

Inabilities:
  • Bound targets: He cannot kill or harm anyone who either hasn't tried to attack him or he hasn't been given as a target.
  • Non-specialized combat: Sure he could swing an axe but anyone trained with one could easily beat him in axe on axe combat.

Equipment (List)
  • The souls of his dead targets which are very malleable pieces of spirit he can use to form weapons, clothing or armour.

Short History (Just a summary)

Umbra has a long history, but a short one before he became a ghost. You see, before the man became the heart-stopping, vengeance dealing, soul stealing ghoul he is now, he was a special kind of mercenary. He worked for an institute under the imperial royalist's orders named as the inquisition. A sell-sword who would be paid to go out and hunt down the people the royalty didn't like. Unfortunately this meant he had little time to do anything else, which means any relationships he formed soon ended due to lack of contact. He was a loveless man who wandered the world killing whoever he was told to kill. Unfortunately this meant he had a small run-in with what he described as a 'voodoo man'. He didn't care who the man was at the time, he was just money.

The assassination went, as expected, successfully. Umbra hadn't failed a mission in years and he didn't feel like stopping here. Unfortunately voodoo isn't something to be trifled with, especially when it's not voodoo and was in fact incredibly powerful necromancy. Upon the killing of the 'voodoo man', Umbra found himself absorbing a large amount of blue light which poured out of his target's body. He fell to the ground, reaching out towards some sort of eldrich device within his target's room and grabbed it. His fear absorbed him, he defied death with it as the device in his hand glowed with a powerful black light, causing the room to darken.

He soon managed to stand, holding the device close to his chest as the words 'a loveless heart and the fear to live' were repeated in his head, the same raspy voice of the man he'd so regrettably killed. He hobbled over to his horse and climbed on, beginning to ride home, his body sprawled over the back of his steed. He soon reached the city en-which he lived, a dark black and blue aura surrounding him as he fell off his horse. The gate guards could recognise him easily and swiftly ran over, picking him up and dragging him towards the citadel.

Thankfully the inquisition had several priests at their disposal but it was far too late to do much. The eldritch relic in his arms had cut open a segment of his chest and drained his body of blood. He soon opened his eyes as the two priests channelled powerful healing magic into him, his eyes were nothing but light blue flames, burning endlessly. He reached out to the two priests and clenched his fists. With that they fell to the ground, a light blue figure being pulled from them and into his body with that moment. Another priest at the end of the room, the high cleric of the inquisition, swiftly shot him with a bright yellow bolt. Assuming he was dead, they buried him, however they were all too wrong. He soon rose, without body. No more than a blue figure walking through the streets.

He soon found the inquisitors had knowingly sent him to his death, fully aware of the necromancer's curse. A fiery hate burned through his ethereal body as he swore vengeance. He knew now was not the time, but he would learn to grow his power to finally defeat those who betrayed him. With this, he began answering the pleads of those who desired them most, those who loved life but were robbed of it. He would absorb both the pledger's souls and those he hunts and gain power from them.

Other Information (In case I missed anything)

As it states in his history, Umbra has the ability to hear pleas from those who are desperate enough to call for his help. He will take their soul as payment and kill the person they want him to hunt down. For the person starting the hunt he may decide to take their soul when they die rather than simply kill them there and then, this will only be if the person has not found love or desires strongly to stay alive, similarly to him.

Sweet. I kinda want to make a snarky rabbit or something. Because it would be adorable and ironic.

I don't want the Void Creature to be too out of place for the RP (so unfortunately, no to the snarky rabbit), but you have free reign on what the creature is going to appear as.

@Temm

To be honest, when you mentioned that you wanted your character to be a specter kind of character, I was worried as that would give the Precendatas a headache and think about another addition to prevent them. Now seeing your character and making them more of a warrior-type, I'm happy I've decided to say yes to you creating Umbra. Character is accepted and I'll add them to the cast list.

I think that once we have one more character accepted to the RP, I'll post the IC so the RP will start :)

I was thinking about adding some magic to him but he seemed quite strong without them. Thanks for the accept!~

What about a snarky gopher?

I kid, I kid. I shall make something vaguely more humanoid. For some reason I keep on thinking of Vel'koz or Malzahar from LoL.

OMG it is Kalista!!! Didn't realize that until now :P

I had the idea for a character similar to her before she was even revealed, it creeped me out slightly. Playing her just made me want to make the character more!

Riot can read your mind O.o

Can I make a little kid? (Well, the appearance of a little kid)

It depends on how old you are making in the appearance for your character. Just need to remember that I had said that I was hesitant with Snowday's character being 15,, so even appearances of a child is something that I will definitely be hesitant on as well.

Yeah, I was gonna say.

Young characters make for good plot development in some cases. They're cute and ironic and eventually everyone becomes adorably protective over them like they're their little brother or sister (that's what normally happens with Atlys). But from what I can tell, this roleplay is going to be a bit more on the intense side, and children would look a bit out of place.

Well my characters gonna be grown up, but just chooses to appear as a little kid. Think...

I don't know. But I'm assuming the void creatures live at least longer than normal humans.

Well I completely forgot about this for a while
