» THE SCARLET EFFECT

When a viral disease plagues the world and everything falls into ruin, two young individuals are inadvertently thrust into each other's paths to achieve what seems to be an impossible mission. Together, they must traverse dangerous lands, overcome undead enemies, outrun the law, and uncover a government conspiracy that seems to center around their very existence.

But they're running out of time. The virus is seeping into their system, slowly unraveling them to become one among the mindless horde of the infected.

Soon, they must face their worst enemy: themselves.

KELLEN ARMSTRONG
22 | July 2 | Male

For as long as he can remember, Kellen has always looked up to his father--a patriot and proud army veteran. The man may now be confined to a mental institute, as the army had done ill things to his mental health, but Kellen still secretly hopes to follow in his father's footsteps.

Over the years, however, and thanks to the urging of his mother, Kellen has taken a more... sensible and sustainable route, so to speak. The boy seems to have everything going for him. And outwardly, it does indeed seem he has his entire life figured out. For not only does he have a scholarship in business, he is also attending one of the more prestigious universities in the country, as well as dating a beautiful woman whom he is seriously considering marrying.

Yet, Kellen feels chained to a future he has no desire of pursuing. To this day, he still dreams of serving in the army. He has put his father on a pedestal, idealizing the man to the extent that he neglects to see the horrors that had pushed his father into insanity.

After all, Kellen, as overbearingly kind and selfless as he is, is also quite stubborn in his beliefs and idealistic to the point of naiveté.

Maggie was raised on a farm with her single father after her mother walked out on them both when she was nothing but a child. Although she had a strong relationship with her father, the farm life was never one she desired. Harvesting crops and raising animal's was something her father did, although she always enjoyed accompanying her father on the short hunting trips he'd gone on, learning to fire a gun and skin animals.

After the unexpected death of her father just a few years after her nineteenth birthday, Maggie moved away from the county life and the memories left of her father. Instead opting for a city life and the broader opportunities it gave her. Although perusing the life she wanted, things having been working out as well for Maggie as she'd expected.

Getting into the career she wanted turned out to be far harder she she'd originally planned, her plan's to get into a suitable school and get a job going unsuccessful over all the years she's tried. Her determination and goals for the future unfortunately preventing her to form any lasting relationships with people even those from her life with her father.

Although seemingly having no luck with her life, Maggie is still determined to get what she wants. Some would even refer to her as hard headed and stubborn traits that had no doubt been a result of her life with her father. Although her people skills are less then ideal, she can still be friendly, a little sarcastic at others, finding it easier to bond with people in a rough manner then through friendliness.
