  • Personality:
    To describe Ottome, it entirely depends on the experiences that the person has. But in general, Ottome is considered to be a bubbly character. She tends to be quite an optimistic person, desiring to see the best in a situation and wanting to strive to make something great. This often has created the view that she can be quite obnoxious for those who aren’t either used to the ‘radiance’ of optimism and joy.
    Another important aspect of Ottome is that she can be quite determined, usually when she has set her sight on a particular goal. This tends to make her forget about other matters, being too focused on achieving to what she has set herself to do - causing her to be surprised when not taking into account some matters that could have been vital for success.

    Ottome has some serious flaws too. She can come across as demanding and at times she shows a pedantic nature, usually to situations that she has little to no experiences with - once more to the annoyance of many others that aren’t acquainted or liking Ottome’s personality. Fortunately, her generosity tends to help prevent most of the grievances that otherwise would persist.

  • Backstory:
    Ottome was born in a small village near the capital city of Ranzaki. Her life used to be quite simple, a mixture of playing around with other children from the village to helping her folks at the rice fields. It certainly wasn’t an easy life but it was far from an unhappy one. Things started to drastically change, however, when in the last waning days of the Great War her father decided to volunteer into the military. With most of the fighting and danger gone, it seemed like an opportune moment to join the military and earn an easy but steady income.
    This opportunistic decision paid off first. Ottome’s father was stationed at the southern border with the Frost country - a relatively safe area to be stationed at, due to the absence of any hostile neighbouring states.

    The absence of Ottome’s father started to weigh upon the family. Ottome’s mother was still young and desired to have more children. The lack of an ability to achieve this started to crack and pressure the marriage of Ottome’s parents. But work started to play a bigger part in Ottome’s life.
    As the years started to pass, Ottome’s father started to visit less and less on his leaves from his post. While he strived to gain promotion, it wasn’t that easy. In fact, it seemed that despite Ottome’s father desire, his superiors either didn’t notice him or his martial nor leadership abilities were enough to warrant a promotion. Unexpectedly, this would backlash at Ottome’s parent’s marriage. Her mother started to take up an antagonistic attitude towards Ottome’s father. And as a result, Ottome’s father visit home would become less frequent.
    Until the fateful day that Ottome was twelve years old.
    Returning home, Ottome’s father was met with the hostility of his wife. Sick and done with, Ottome’s father didn’t respond to the accusations and sneers. Instead, he simply started to pack the few belongings he managed to get and then seemed to go away. Only hours later did Ottome’s mother figured out that her husband had also taken her child with him.




    Kumogakure was a weird place. Ottome didn’t understand much of it, despite being twelve years old. With her father’s wages, they could afford a small apartment. Life wasn’t much better but neither worse. The bustling activities that created a lot of noise during the day were a source of curiosity. At first, it did somewhat intimidate Ottome who couldn’t figure out why they weren’t going home.
    The first few weeks were odd as Ottome’s father would introduce her to a few neighbours, that promised to take care of Ottome. The sudden shift from village to city and then being taken care by strangers was a bit too much. Causing Ottome to grow silent and introvert for a little while. It took her a year before she started to adjust and become more comfortable at what seemed to be a constant chaotic mess.
    At the age of thirteen, Ottome would become enlisted to the Shinobi Academy. The reason is purely being in an attempt to generate more funds in the future, for her father started to become desperate to increase his ranking among the military.
    The first year at the Academy was hard as Ottome didn’t possess the necessary skills that allowed her to stand up against many of the other recruits that either enlisted or were recruited. Let alone compete against those that could claim the heritage of a martial clan.

    The occupation of Shoji’s forces was thus met with relief from Ottome, who didn’t like the idea of becoming a kunoichi. She remembered the whispers from her old village that softly resonated whenever a team of shinobi went past or arrived. For the sighting of shinobi meant only one thing: trouble.
    But as the days become weeks, there was something amiss. Letters from her father stopped coming and Ottome started to fear the worst. Even if she had taken up a job at a ramen restaurant - working nearly all day to generate enough funds to pay the bills - she couldn’t shake the idea that something terrible had happened.

    The revelation came when the occupation of Shoiji came to a crashing end. Apparently, Ottome’s father had switched sides. His hope was to achieve a better standing with the forces of Shoji, which did result in a promotion. But being a captain didn’t only increase his wages. It made him into a prime target of those that abhorred the forces of Shoji and fellow traitors.
    While life slowly became the same for many, Ottome found herself at a rocky crossroad of choices. In fact, her father’s decision started to weigh upon her. The friendly neighbours taking a distance to not be associated with a traitor’s daughter.
    Still enlisted at the Shinobi Academy, Ottome decided to stick with her current path. It was rough and difficult but she eventually started to reach to graduate.

    Only finding out that fate wasn’t kind to her.
    The realm was starting to rip itself apart, a civil war over the succession crisis of the Ranzaki dynasty. The chaos of the conflict would send ripples throughout the country, reaching Ottome despite her not being on either side. Yet the conflict started to create more difficulties for Ottome as neighbours would remember what her father had done.
    The bullying and constant crackdown shattered Ottome’s self-esteem and trust in other people. Her only hope to prove her loyalty to the city of Kumogakure and the Shinobi corp, keeping a facade with a smile and laugh.

    Graduated from the Shinobi Corp, Ottome’s luck seemed to be really down the drain. For a while she saw finally a way to start working towards her primary goal, her first experience would be a large siege upon Kumogakure itself.

  • Skills/Abilities
    Ottome possesses average skills in terms of ninjutsu. Her chakra control is decent but her lack of experience tends to be a problem when dealing with more seasoned ninjutsu experts. What seems to be her best quality in terms of abilities is her close-quarter combat skills and reflexes. While she lacks the muscle to compete against many masculine foes, she tends to rely on her speed and agility to stand her ground.
    Out of all the fields of ninjutsu, it seems that genjutsu or medicine attracts her the most. Coupled with an adequate control of her chakra and lack of brute force, these fields have been lightly touched upon her time in the Academy.

    Special Traits
    Ottome is inexperienced, which isn’t that surprising due to her recent graduation from the Shinobi Academy. She has a strong will and determination, having acquired it from enduring the constant jabs and references to her father’s betrayal. Top on that, her chakra reserves are only average compared to her peers.
    Yet in spite of her shortcomings, Ottome possesses a sharp mind that is often concealed by her bubbly behaviour. She is capable to figure out traps and solutions rapidly - once understanding the mechanism behind it all.

    It would be a lie to state that Ottome and Kinmochi started out as friends right away. The reason why Kinmochi became a part of Ottome’s life was simply out of a desire to have something going for her. This resulted in her wandering into a Summoner’s Establishment, where she was coerced into purchasing the hawke to become a summoning. It took a year of work before the two managed to be capable to work together.

    Abilities:
    Kinmochi has been trained to listen to various sharp whistles. He is capable of attacking and stalking a target. But in order to do so, he requires a scent of his quarry or Ottome instructing him - by pointing and instructing some commands. This tends to work on various targets but nothing that goes against Kinmochi's instinct - for example, he won't attack a large bear due to not liking to attack something that seems imposing or impossible for him to deal with.

    Personality:
    Hylli is someone that is considered to be calm and level-minded. An individual that resorts faster to observing and then exercising action, rather than to jump immediately into the fray. She isn't the greatest at socialising because of this and gets irritated when jumped on. Surprises are also not the way to cheer her up and a constant annoyance to her.
    Pride and loyalty are both the greatest aspects of Hylli's characteristics. To most that aren't familiar with Hylli, she can appear to be arrogant and prideful. Coupled together with her desire of desiring to stay on the background, it only seems to confirm those ideas that the Hyuzu considers herself above others.
    In truth, Hylli is humble when it comes to herself. But she bears a great sense of loyalty and pride in her clan. Even when she isn't related to the noble families within the clan.
    This loyalty seems to stem forth from the fact that her oldest brother is part of the Dragon Guard. As well her deceased grandfather.

    Furthermore, Hylli tends to be a person that is quickly content. She isn't quite as ambitious unlike some of her peers. Happy to just do what is necessary, she has some trouble to take a compliment - regardless if it is from a stranger, kin or friend.
    However, if one has to point out a flaw that dominates Hylli's 'bad' side, it will be her ability to hold a grudge. While not angered easily, Hylli is quite determined to hold a grudge for a long time. Weeks and months may go past but that won't absolve any slights in her opinion. Years may go past but she will still cling to the animosity that was conjured.

    Hylli was born 18 years ago, much like any other child - to two parents. Her upbringing wasn't one of much interest. Her father was a carpenter and her mother aided in his workshop. The business was fine but yet her parents would venture out, joining the migration southwards. Being able to help the newfound community of Hyuzu in the Fire Country, Hylli's father enjoyed much respect and coin in his aid to the Hyuzu compound. Around that time Hylli was nothing more than a babe in her mother's arms and care. Growing up in the Hyuzu compound, the whole ravaging and ordeal of the Great War seemed to pass Hylli's youth. She lost no kin or friends to the conflict. The world itself may have torn itself apart but the tranquillity within the Hyuzu compound seemed to stay intact. Or so that is how Hylli remembers those days.

    By the time she would reach the age of ten, Hylli started to show signs that she was capable of actively moulding chakra. Instead of being sent to the Shinobi academy in Konohagakure, Hylli was kept at the compound. Her mentors and teachers being familiar faces of the community, it was considered to be a safer course than to let Hylli partake in a place that still seemed foreign.
    The teachings and training with her fellow Hyuzu peers went without much of a problem. Excelling at various fields, Hylli soon was subjugated to harsher training and ordeals. The reason seemed unclear to Hylli but she suspected many years later that it was to test if she had the potential to become recruited for the Dragon Guard novices.
    But her skills and talents weren't enough to impress the Dragon Guard to recruit her into their training regimes, thus allowing her further to continue to train and grow underneath the care of others.
    Shortly afterwards, Hylli was granted a chance to try the Trial of the Dragon. The expectations of her friends and mentors were high, that she would succeed and manage to join the array of others that succeeded at the trial. But failure replaced success, causing Hylli to become disappointed. A disappointment that was aimed at the higher echelons of the clan, out of sheer desperation and childish desire to find a scapegoat.

    After the failed attempt at the Trial of the Dragon, Hylli was subjugated to the usual training regimes. This training regime continued for several years. A change slowly started to shift as the clan's way of ruling was 'adapting'. But in Hylli's opinion, this was merely a power grab from certain families within the clan. Notably, those that she held responsible for her failure at the Trial of the Dragon.
    This change slowly started to impact Hylli's life as well. The disappearance of the Hyuzu elders from the political playfield as some other signs started to impact her feelings towards the higher echelons of her clan. But much time or chance wasn't granted to Hylli to question or do anything about the changes - if she could.
    Hylli was together with a few others sent over to Konohagakure, to join the Shinobi Academy - perhaps to represent the Hyuzu and proving their martial worth or perhaps part of some exchange with the authorities. Either way, on her sixteenth, Hylli was registered in the Shinobi Academy in Konohagakure.
    Her time at the Academy went by fast due to her training at the Hyuzu compound. Able to pass by the standards rather easily, she was allowed to partake in various advanced training fields. Managing to show her skills at fields that require agility and taijutsu, Hylli struggled greatly with some of the other advanced fields. Such as barrier, sensory or medical orientations.
    The option to officially graduate was there around May, in the year 476. But due to her desire to train and study longer at the Academy, Hylli graduated in the early months of 477. Feeling more than ever ready to tackle the challenges ahead and prove her worth. To both clan and country.

    Hylli's mother is quite a friendly individual. She is noted by Hylli to be particularly happy to receive visitors, often offering them to stay longer or extending their visit. A habit that seems to annoy both Hylli and her father.

    | Horsk - name meaning: Sensible- Hyuzu |
    Hylli's father is a man of few words. Perhaps old-fashioned, as Hylli tends to put it, Horsk is rather keen to judge a person by their deeds. He doesn't like to stay away from his workshop for long. A notable habit of Horsk rambles about his work, something that Hylli considers to be adorable and yet a nuisance at times.

    Siblings:
    • Vindr Hyuzu
      Hylli's oldest sibling, Vindr has five years on Hylli. He is currently serving as a member of the Dragon Guard. A source of pride of Hylli's family and testimony of Vindr's capabilities.
    • Gloá Hyuzu
      Gloá is several years younger than Hylli. Unlike Hylli, Gloá tends to be more girlish. She currently works within a spinner's workshop, often entertaining herself with gossiping with the other women present. Despite their differences and preferences, Hylli has a good relation with Gloá.
    • Dugin Hyuzu
      The youngest sibling that Hylli has. Though nearly a decade younger, Dugin is quite the spirited individual. He is fond of legends and has grand ambitions. So far he has yet to display any aptitude towards chakra manipulation, however.

    Hylli's Kunai
    Description:
    In tune with her main technique, Hylli has a set of special kunai. These are designed for throwing and less for hand-held fighting. This is noticeable about the handle, where the main mechanism is hidden - a piece of steel that reacts strongly to chakra manipulation and flow. The rest of the kunai are made of ordinary material.

    Skills/Abilities

    Hylli is a combatant that relies on her agility and speed. She is capable of holding herself in a scuffle but doesn't favour prolonged engagements - likely due to her endurance not being the best. Her chakra manipulation is decent and enables her to dabble in the likes of genjutsu. But this field is quite narrowed by Hylli's interest and preferences. Which has hampered her range and ability to proceed much further than she has now.
    Due to practice and training, she has managed to become a novice at the art of stealth. Able to surpass the non-initiated, she has still a long way before she can be one with the shadow.
    Her strength and stamina are her best attributes so far, in terms of physical skills. Which is thanks to her near-constant training regimes.
    Due to her upbringing, Hylli is capable to converse and understand both Taika and Chonobi. Yet when she converses in Taika, she tends to have a slight but noticeable accent.

    Hylli's chakra reserves are quite normal, neither surpassing her peers or being considered to be small. She has a keen mind, able to resolve various problems seemingly with ease - though this likely due to her observant nature. On top of that, Hylli rarely tends to lose her cool against an adversary. Unless said foe is capable of overwhelming her and surprising her.

    Hylli has to insert chakra into the desired object. And then form the Seal of Confrontation, to utilize the technique.
    Description:
    Hylli flows chakra into the desired object, to store a bit of her energy in. When the time is required, Hylli just needs to perform the Seal of Confrontation to conjure the effect. The stored bit of chakra will allow the object to be pushed by the sudden expulsion of chakra, creating a small shockwave effect. On objects that flow chakra efficiently, she can apply the effect to levitate them for a short while.
    This technique allows Hylli to land surprise attacks and change the trajectory of her ranged attacks.
    She has mastered the technique to allow herself to utilize the technique three times on an object, that doesn't efficiently flows chakra. On an object that flows chakra much better, this is easily doubled and allows for much cleaner as faster control.
    Weakness:
    The first problem is the range. Hylli can't manipulate any object that she has inserted chakra in if the distance is too large.
    The other glaring and obvious weakness is visibility. In theory, Hylli is capable to utilize the technique without seeing the object, it severely reduces the efficiency and she needs to act on what she knows - thus being a hit or miss kind of deal.
    But the biggest weakness is that Hylli's technique is stands and fall with the narrow timeframe of the technique. The chakra stored in an object doesn't remain for long within an inanimate object, usually remaining there for a brief two minutes. Hampering any prolonged tactics with this technique.
    This technique only works on metal objects.

    Description:
    After finishing the seals, Hylli can reproduce an illusionary clone of an object. This object has to be small though to work efficiently, for anything larger than the size of a small cat will have distortions and give away its true nature.
    The objects will be able to reproduce faint sounds - as long as Hylli is familiar with them. The speed of the illusions can be quite fast.
    Weakness:
    The objects are illusions. They possess no mass and can't thus land any physical impact. Being intangible, this also means that a person can quickly realise their true nature upon seeing no shadow. Or the fact that the object or individual themselves phase through the object.
    Anything larger than a small cat will have distortions, as the illusion will violently warp now and then - giving away its essence easily.

    Weakness:
    The obvious weakness is against lightning-based jutsu, which damages the armour significantly more than any other form of nature release Jutsu. And at the current point, Hylli is only able to cover one limb.

    Description:
    Hylli focuses her chakra into either one of her kunai or another throwing weapon, causing it to become unstable. The weapon will explode shortly after it is released from Hylli's hand - all depending on how long she 'cooks' it. Depending on how much chakra Hylli flows into the weapon, she can choose to either have the explosion occur sooner or later.     Personality:
    Hylli is someone that is considered to be calm and level-minded. An individual that resorts faster to observing and then exercising action, rather than to jump immediately into the fray. She isn't the greatest at socialising because of this and gets irritated when jumped on. Surprises are also not the way to cheer her up and a constant annoyance to her.
    Pride and loyalty are both the greatest aspects of Hylli's characteristics. To most that aren't familiar with Hylli, she can appear to be arrogant and prideful. Coupled together with her desire of desiring to stay on the background, it only seems to confirm those ideas that the Hyuzu considers herself above others.
    In truth, Hylli is humble when it comes to herself. But she bears a great sense of loyalty and pride in her clan. Even when she isn't related to the noble families within the clan.
    This loyalty seems to stem forth from the fact that her oldest brother is part of the Dragon Guard. As well her deceased grandfather.

    Furthermore, Hylli tends to be a person that is quickly content. She isn't quite as ambitious unlike some of her peers. Happy to just do what is necessary, she has some trouble to take a compliment - regardless if it is from a stranger, kin or friend.
    However, if one has to point out a flaw that dominates Hylli's 'bad' side, it will be her ability to hold a grudge. While not angered easily, Hylli is quite determined to hold a grudge for a long time. Weeks and months may go past but that won't absolve any slights in her opinion. Years may go past but she will still cling to the animosity that was conjured.

    Hylli was born 18 years ago, much like any other child - to two parents. Her upbringing wasn't one of much interest. Her father was a carpenter and her mother aided in his workshop. The business was fine but yet her parents would venture out, joining the migration southwards. Being able to help the newfound community of Hyuzu in the Fire Country, Hylli's father enjoyed much respect and coin in his aid to the Hyuzu compound. Around that time Hylli was nothing more than a babe in her mother's arms and care. Growing up in the Hyuzu compound, the whole ravaging and ordeal of the Great War seemed to pass Hylli's youth. She lost no kin or friends to the conflict. The world itself may have torn itself apart but the tranquillity within the Hyuzu compound seemed to stay intact. Or so that is how Hylli remembers those days.

    By the time she would reach the age of ten, Hylli started to show signs that she was capable of actively moulding chakra. Instead of being sent to the Shinobi academy in Konohagakure, Hylli was kept at the compound. Her mentors and teachers being familiar faces of the community, it was considered to be a safer course than to let Hylli partake in a place that still seemed foreign.
    The teachings and training with her fellow Hyuzu peers went without much of a problem. Excelling at various fields, Hylli soon was subjugated to harsher training and ordeals. The reason seemed unclear to Hylli but she suspected many years later that it was to test if she had the potential to become recruited for the Dragon Guard novices.
    But her skills and talents weren't enough to impress the Dragon Guard to recruit her into their training regimes, thus allowing her further to continue to train and grow underneath the care of others.
    Shortly afterwards, Hylli was granted a chance to try the Trial of the Dragon. The expectations of her friends and mentors were high, that she would succeed and manage to join the array of others that succeeded at the trial. But failure replaced success, causing Hylli to become disappointed. A disappointment that was aimed at the higher echelons of the clan, out of sheer desperation and childish desire to find a scapegoat.

    After the failed attempt at the Trial of the Dragon, Hylli was subjugated to the usual training regimes. This training regime continued for several years. A change slowly started to shift as the clan's way of ruling was 'adapting'. But in Hylli's opinion, this was merely a power grab from certain families within the clan. Notably, those that she held responsible for her failure at the Trial of the Dragon.
    This change slowly started to impact Hylli's life as well. The disappearance of the Hyuzu elders from the political playfield as some other signs started to impact her feelings towards the higher echelons of her clan. But much time or chance wasn't granted to Hylli to question or do anything about the changes - if she could.
    Hylli was together with a few others sent over to Konohagakure, to join the Shinobi Academy - perhaps to represent the Hyuzu and proving their martial worth or perhaps part of some exchange with the authorities. Either way, on her sixteenth, Hylli was registered in the Shinobi Academy in Konohagakure.
    Her time at the Academy went by fast due to her training at the Hyuzu compound. Able to pass by the standards rather easily, she was allowed to partake in various advanced training fields. Managing to show her skills at fields that require agility and taijutsu, Hylli struggled greatly with some of the other advanced fields. Such as barrier, sensory or medical orientations.
    The option to officially graduate was there around May, in the year 476. But due to her desire to train and study longer at the Academy, Hylli graduated in the early months of 477. Feeling more than ever ready to tackle the challenges ahead and prove her worth. To both clan and country.

      The youngest sibling that Hylli has. Though nearly a decade younger, Dugin is quite the spirited individual. He is fond of legends and has grand ambitions. So far he has yet to display any aptitude towards chakra manipulation, however.

    In tune with her main technique, Hylli has a set of special kunai. These are designed for throwing and less for hand-held fighting.     Hylli is a combatant that relies on her agility and speed. She is capable of holding herself in a scuffle but doesn't favour prolonged engagements - likely due to her endurance not being the best. Her chakra manipulation is decent and enables her to dabble in the likes of genjutsu. But this field is quite narrowed by Hylli's interest and preferences. Which has hampered her range and ability to proceed much further than she has now.
    Due to practice and training, she has managed to become a novice at the art of stealth. Able to surpass the non-initiated, she has still a long way before she can be one with the shadow.
    Her strength and stamina are her best attributes so far, in terms of physical skills. Which is thanks to her near-constant training regimes.
    Due to her upbringing, Hylli is capable to converse and understand both Taika and Chonobi. Yet when she converses in Taika, she tends to have a slight but noticeable accent.

    Hylli's chakra reserves are quite normal, neither surpassing her peers or being considered to be small. She has a keen mind, able to resolve various problems seemingly with ease - though this likely due to her observant nature. On top of that, Hylli rarely tends to lose her cool against an adversary. Unless said foe is capable of overwhelming her and surprising her.

    Description:
    Hylli flows chakra into the desired object, to store a bit of her energy in. When the time is required, Hylli just needs to perform the Seal of Confrontation to conjure the effect. The stored bit of chakra will allow the object to be pushed by the sudden expulsion of chakra, creating a small shockwave effect. On objects that flow chakra efficiently, she can apply the effect to levitate them for a short while.
    This technique allows Hylli to land surprise attacks and change the trajectory of her ranged attacks.
    She has mastered the technique to allow herself to utilize the technique three times on an object, that doesn't efficiently flows chakra. On an object that flows chakra much better, this is easily doubled and allows for much cleaner as faster control.
    Weakness:
    The first problem is the range. Hylli can't manipulate any object that she has inserted chakra in if the distance is too large.
    The other glaring and obvious weakness is visibility. In theory, Hylli is capable to utilize the technique without seeing the object, it severely reduces the efficiency and she needs to act on what she knows - thus being a hit or miss kind of deal.
    But the biggest weakness is that Hylli's technique is stands and fall with the narrow timeframe of the technique. The chakra stored in an object doesn't remain for long within an inanimate object, usually remaining there for a brief two minutes. Hampering any prolonged tactics with this technique.
    This technique only works on metal objects.

    After finishing the seals, Hylli can reproduce an illusionary clone of an object. This object has to be small though to work efficiently, for anything larger than the size of a small cat will have distortions and give away its true nature.
    The objects will be able to reproduce faint sounds - as long as Hylli is familiar with them. The speed of the illusions can be quite fast.
    Weakness:
    The objects are illusions. They possess no mass and can't thus land any physical impact. Being intangible, this also means that a person can quickly realise their true nature upon seeing no shadow. Or the fact that the object or individual themselves phase through the object.
    Anything larger than a small cat will have distortions, as the illusion will violently warp now and then - giving away its essence easily.

    Sugishimo Masageru would appear to most as a modest person to be around. The young ninja is diligent with his time; whether that time is spent on improving himself, helping someone out or being playful usually depends on the day or circumstance. Most days whenever Sugi has free time in the morning he'll help out some of the older folks in his neighborhood set up shop. In return he usually gets some bread or a treat as a thanks. He's usually much more thankful for any stories the old timers care to share with him. He's always respected the wisdom of those that came before him.

    He feels a need to help out the elderly and by doing so he is respected by them. All of the positives that have come about this choice in his life has helped shape him as he grew up. They taught him temperance and how to be cunning in life. No one better to teach you about life than someone who's survived seventy plus years of it. Through this he became aware of long grudges at an early age. Grudges help by whole countries and clans against others. He was told because of this reason or that unforgiving acts are simply a part of life.

    The genin has been known to play pranks, mostly on those around his own age. Most of which would be relatively harmless and even flirtatious in nature towards crushes. More wicked pranks were reserved for academy bullies and the lot. For a time these were rather tame as well until one prank cause a bully to take out his anger on a student that he thought was the prankster. The student got banged up pretty badly and after that something in Sugishimo snapped. That same day Sugi utilized genjutsu on the bully to sever effect in retaliation for the banged up student. It was that day when the young ninja became unforgiving towards certain individuals.

    Sugishimo figured now that if wrongdoers feared the consequences of their actions enough then they wouldn't commit them again or get worse. He's never been a fan of putting himself in harms way or dealing with problems directly or bluntly. Those solutions usually were only temporary at best. His solutions usually seemed to work most times and like his usual pranks Sugi did his best to make sure he wouldn't get caught. He'd be found out from time to time and be disciplined of course but he'd make sure to be extra cunning whenever pulling any of his more cruel pranks.

    Sugishimo acts cunningly and strategically with his actions. He looks before he leaps and thinks before he speaks. These paths are preferable as they tend to lead to less wasted effort and danger in the long run. Its always better to be good enough to not get caught rather than tough enough to endure what comes your way.

  • Backstory:

    Sugishimo was born into a modest family that resides within The Republic of Water. Neither of Sugi's parents made attempts to shelter him from the truths regarding the history of their country. By age ten he'd already been taught about his country's history all the way back to The Great War. They sugar coated nothing as they explained all of it; the bloody and corrupt nation. Both his father and mother lost plenty of cousins and friends during the times of civil unrest in the past. Where they lived especially they told young Sugi to find people he can trust as he grew up and hold onto them. In a land so drenched with treachery and blood those few people will be all he can truly rely on.

    Even before attending the academy for genin Sugi struggled to find the people his parents told him to look out for. He'd commonly spy on those so called friends but time and time again they wouldn't be there for him. They'd talk behind his back or not back him up in a fight with other kids. Even the slightest infraction would cause Sugishimo become ice cold towards someone. This never stopped him from trying to pursue friends however which caused a vicious cycle of hope and disappointment. He'd even go so far as to play pranks on bullies to try and make friends; but he found that he was only being used on more than one occasion. Eventually he viewed most of his fellow students as nothing to concern himself with. He wouldn't find those trustworthy people here. Sugishimo would still play cruel pranks on various students that made life more difficult for other students. The young ninja saw those people as a reflection of the corruption in the higher ups of the government that always seems to plague his home.

    This caused Sugishimo to become more engaged with the local business owners and elderly in his area. He'd start to spend more time with people much older than himself rather than those his own age as he grew into his teens. Most adults were weary of the boy's true intentions at first but after awhile more and more folks would open up to Sugi. He'd start helping the local fish markets open up in the morning before heading off to the academy. After that he'd pay visits to elderly folk around his neighborhood. Usually he'd offer to help around the house or store in exchange for conversation. The young ninja cherished the knowledge that would spill from these people that were far older than himself. Most of whom he knew had little to no reason to deceive him; that was as close to trustworthy he felt he was gonna get.

    Sugi didn't pass the academy with flying colors but he did well. Having not been utilizing his time goofing off with other kids ironically left him with plenty of time to study and practice the basics he was being taught, despite his usual prank antics. He felt little if any pity at all for those he knew that didn't pass and join him in graduation. His parents were plenty proud of their son's achievement. Expecting a graduation party with just his family; Sugi was surprised to return to his neighborhood to find most of those that lived in the area had set up a block party for his graduation. The people he'd helped out everyday all wanted to congratulate him. There was thunderous cheering from the local fishermen and soft clamps from the elderly folk all along his street. It would be a day that Sugishimo would deeply cherish.

    Description: A scroll which when opened upon the ground and activated simply spews out a small pond's worth of fresh water onto the ground, centered on the position of the scroll itself. This item is usually used to create water in enviornments for which there is very little but is required for certain jutsu.

    Appearance: A large burgundy colored scroll that Sugishimo carries on his back. It unravels to reveal thick ink writing within.

    Stealth: A core shinobi skill that has been refined and worked upon to produce better results. Sugi had plenty of extra practice hiding from people whilst committing his cruel pranks so that he could stay nearby for as long as possible before fleeing silently.

    Deceptive: Sugishimo has grown to use deception as a tool as its been used against him so much throughout his life. This is reflected in his style of combat as well.

    Insightful: Having been surrounded by deceivers for much of his day to day doings Sugi has become rather good at discerning the intentions of others.

For a time these were rather tame as well until one prank cause a bully to take out his anger on a student that he thought was the prankster. The student got banged up pretty badly and after that something in Sugishimo snapped. That same day Sugi utilized genjutsu on the bully to sever effect in retaliation for the banged up student. It was that day when the young ninja became unforgiving towards certain individuals.

    Sugishimo figured now that if wrongdoers feared the consequences of their actions enough then they wouldn't commit them again or get worse. He's never been a fan of putting himself in harms way or dealing with problems directly or bluntly. Those solutions usually were only temporary at best. His solutions usually seemed to work most times and like his usual pranks Sugi did his best to make sure he wouldn't get caught. He'd be found out from time to time and be disciplined of course but he'd make sure to be extra cunning whenever pulling any of his more cruel pranks.

    Sugishimo acts cunningly and strategically with his actions. He looks before he leaps and thinks before he speaks. These paths are preferable as they tend to lead to less wasted effort and danger in the long run. Its always better to be good enough to not get caught rather than tough enough to endure what comes your way.

    Sugishimo was born into a modest family that resides within The Republic of Water. Neither of Sugi's parents made attempts to shelter him from the truths regarding the history of their country. By age ten he'd already been taught about his country's history all the way back to The Great War. They sugar coated nothing as they explained all of it; the bloody and corrupt nation. Both his father and mother lost plenty of cousins and friends during the times of civil unrest in the past. Where they lived especially they told young Sugi to find people he can trust as he grew up and hold onto them. In a land so drenched with treachery and blood those few people will be all he can truly rely on.

    Even before attending the academy for genin Sugi struggled to find the people his parents told him to look out for. He'd commonly spy on those so called friends but time and time again they wouldn't be there for him. They'd talk behind his back or not back him up in a fight with other kids. Even the slightest infraction would cause Sugishimo become ice cold towards someone. This never stopped him from trying to pursue friends however which caused a vicious cycle of hope and disappointment. He'd even go so far as to play pranks on bullies to try and make friends; but he found that he was only being used on more than one occasion.     This caused Sugishimo to become more engaged with the local business owners and elderly in his area. He'd start to spend more time with people much older than himself rather than those his own age as he grew into his teens. Most adults were weary of the boy's true intentions at first but after awhile more and more folks would open up to Sugi. He'd start helping the local fish markets open up in the morning before heading off to the academy. After that he'd pay visits to elderly folk around his neighborhood. Usually he'd offer to help around the house or store in exchange for conversation. The young ninja cherished the knowledge that would spill from these people that were far older than himself. Most of whom he knew had little to no reason to deceive him; that was as close to trustworthy he felt he was gonna get.

    Sugi didn't pass the academy with flying colors but he did well. Having not been utilizing his time goofing off with other kids ironically left him with plenty of time to study and practice the basics he was being taught, despite his usual prank antics. He felt little if any pity at all for those he knew that didn't pass and join him in graduation. His parents were plenty proud of their son's achievement. Expecting a graduation party with just his family; Sugi was surprised to return to his neighborhood to find most of those that lived in the area had set up a block party for his graduation. The people he'd helped out everyday all wanted to congratulate him. There was thunderous cheering from the local fishermen and soft clamps from the elderly folk all along his street. It would be a day that Sugishimo would deeply cherish.

    Sugishimo Masageru would appear to most as a modest person to be around. The young ninja is diligent with his time; whether that time is spent on improving himself, helping someone out or being playful usually depends on the day or circumstance. Most days whenever Sugi has free time in the morning he'll help out some of the older folks in his neighborhood set up shop. In return he usually gets some bread or a treat as a thanks. He's usually much more thankful for any stories the old timers care to share with him. He's always respected the wisdom of those that came before him.

    He feels a need to help out the elderly and by doing so he is respected by them. All of the positives that have come about this choice in his life has helped shape him as he grew up. They taught him temperance and how to be cunning in life. No one better to teach you about life than someone who's survived seventy plus years of it. Through this he became aware of long grudges at an early age. Grudges help by whole countries and clans against others. He was told because of this reason or that unforgiving acts are simply a part of life.

    A calm and collected individual with the patience the length of a turtles lifespan, however not very talkative and quite reserved as he is more of an observer than someone who participates.   • Backstory:

    Jin was born and raised in Kumogakure by his widowed mother and distant aunt who ran a supply chain of meat stalls dedicated to meat from the sea. From a young age, Jin had been no stranger to labour often helping his mother with the family business which included carrying boxes, setting the sea creatures on the ice neatly, to removing fish guts. Whenever he wasn't working the employees would take him fishing and it would turn out that he had a knack for it, so the trips would become more frequent and extended until it became his role in business.

    One hot summers day Jin's mother had travelled to the capital, the cashier had fallen ill resulting in Jin having to cover for him. The Saemund have rarely ever been seen in the Lightning Country so it was expected that many of the customers commented on his facial features and skin tone, speaking about the paleness of his skin, whispering about his height and inky black hair and eyes. He'd shrug them off though, as he was used to people asking if we're sick, or people shouting if he had swallowed a beanstalk.

    Month after month Jin would slowly see a decrease in staff, the workload would double, people would become more irritable and dinners became plain and scarce. One night Jin's slumber would be interrupted by heavy footsteps a consequence for being a light sleeper. Jin, unable to sleep as well as curious would roll out of his bed and investigate, moving as silently as he could be. The boy would place his ear to the wall and hear his mother's voice on the verge of breaking then he heard, the wailing of his mother, "what am I going to do, how will we continue living, what about Jin? We have nowhere else to go." His mother's sobs carried on, and for every sobbing sound was gentle, comforting hush from his Aunt. Jin heard everything, money had become harder to grasp and easier lose, they were spending more than they were earning.

    2 weeks had passed since then, but to Jin, it had always felt like yesterday, the stress that consumed his mother was wearing her down, and Jin could see it physically on her, the bags in her eyes from the lack of sleep and too much worrying, she became forgetful, and her sister would have to call her more than twice for her respond. Jin wished he could do something to help his mother, but he just didn't know what to do.

    Returning from fishing, Jin would spot a group of boys his age captured in amazement by Shinobi who had filled their heads with the delusion of a heroes fantasy. Turned out that Shinobi was a scout trying to rope in people for their cause, Jin would find himself closing the distance between him and the group until he was standing alongside them. "What's the salary?" Jin asked noticing the scout's eyes squint as if he were observing him. "A reasonable one." After a moment of silence, the scout would pull some strips of paper from his pocket. He gave one each to the boys including Jin, the instructions sounded simple to Jin. "This is an exciting exercise, it's simple yet can be complimented, the trick is to clear your mind, and don't let go of the paper." Jin closed his eyes, trying to empty his mind, breathing ever so slow. Time passed and some of the boys began to lose interest thinning out the group to 3 people. Jin's concentration would be broken as one of the boys would scream "I got it, look I cut through it." The Shinobi would end the exercise, asking for the paper to be returned to him after congratulating them for their patience. The Shinobi would start from the left. "These papers determine your chakra natures, your specialities. So to cut to the chase, you're Wind, you're Lightning, and you are Water, guys isn't this fascinating?" Jin became hooked, wanting to find out more, he wanted to ask more about the chakra natures the boy tried to, but the scout refused. "Look, I saw something in all of you, a spark of greatness, and potential waiting to be unlocked it, it started with 7 and it is only you 3. To be Shinobi you need many things, but the 1st things you will need is heart, determination, loyalty to your country then the others will come later. Today you boys showed 2 traits, that being heart and determination, now I ask you this will you be loyal to your country, your land, your Raikage who keeps you safe and a roof over your families head, will you grow to be men bringing the bread to your household, or will you stop here? Either way, I won't judge you, but I know if I was in your shoe, this opportunity to put 3 loaves of bread on my families table I wouldn't grip it and not let go." Jin was caught in the fantasy, it indulged his ego, the image of feeding his family by himself, helping his mother, becoming the man of the house, he was inspired.

    When his mother found out, she was very reluctant about letting him join, as he was her only child, she felt she would nobody left if she let him go, however, Jin's inspiration was too strong reason with, he knew something had to be done, he knew money had to come from somewhere, he wanted to be responsible and he would his mother that she had nothing to worry about, reassuring her that things were going to be better, telling her the results of his first test, and thus a drained woman would let her only Son join the Shinobi ranks, praying to Akemi for her son's safe return. Leaving his fishing pole behind to join the academy learning new skills and unlocking natural talents he never knew he had to ready himself for the day he'd return home to see his mother again with the 3 loaves of bread on the table.

    Junko Shiroi is a cold-hearted individual. Due to her upbringing the girl was raised to be a model shinobi for the country since even before her official training. She was raised with one task in mind, serve the country. This is where her narrow-mindedness comes in. If something isn't for the good of the country, Junko is unable to fathom what the point of it is. Having so little value for her own life in this regard, she retains even less value for the life others. Continuing on this path it goes without question that Junko is not a mentally stable person when it comes to social situations. She is known to act hostile towards others of her same rank. Usually deeming them as lesser than herself since they aren't willing to make sacrifices for the country. The only people she deems lesser than this are the actual enemies of the empire. Those who'd dare turn away from the beacon of hope known as Akino.

    Her militant upbringing has given her plenty of positive qualities as well. When it comes to completing tasks, one would be hard pressed to say anyone else would be more disciplined and responsible in getting the task done no matter what. If Junko's mind is set to a task she will be determined to complete it. The girl's deeply imprinted loyalty towards the empire commonly causes her to attack hostile towards certain people. People who are not within the empire and those within who appear to have a lack of loyalty. Junko is known to not due well in social situations and commonly lashes out at someone else for the most minor of things; so long as they aren't superior in authority. Speaking of which, she will suck up to those who hold more authority and power than herself in order to climb the ladder. However, she isn't outright selfish all of the time. In doing all of these things she thoroughly believes she is bettering the country. Junko may slander someone in one moment and then offer to help them train in the next. The Fire Country can't have weaklings in its ranks after all.

  • Backstory:

    Junko was born into a loving family within Konohagakure. Both of the girl's parents were shinobi. This lovely family dynamic would be broken however when Junko was around five years of age. Junko's mother, Yukinara attempted to flee the empire with sensitive information regarding the empire's safety as a whole. Yoshihiro personally led a team to hunt down his wife and so they did, killing her out in the field and thus stopping this leak of information. Upon returning home, Yoshihiro debated on what to do with his daughter. He scarcely saw her as such, only seeing her as the spawn of the woman who betrayed him. Because of what that woman did his family name was shamed by his peers and neighbors. It was then that the man knew what he could do with his daughter. He'd train her to be of great use to the Country of Fire. Perhaps then through her he could redeem his name.

    For the next seven years Junko's father trained her harshly. He pounded into her the physical and mental pains of being a shinobi. It was kunai throwing one day then sparring the next day. Survival training, interrogation and so forth. Throughout these years he'd never congratulate her or comfort her when things got tough. He'd always tell her she would find none of that on the battlefield. Junko got used to working hard on little food. Since if she failed to complete a section of training her punishment was usually the denial of food. Only upon completion was she allowed to eat. All the while her father filled her head with all manner of loyalist propaganda. That her highest duty was to be of use to the country. To never betray it like her traitorous mother did. He'd tell her a boogeyman like tale every night before bed. That if Junko every betrayed the empire that he'd hunt her down just like he did to Yukinara. It goes without saying that much of this time Junko was isolated from most other people.

    After a few years of this a few of the intended effects did occur. By age ten Junko had become rather tough especially for her age. The concept of mercy and laziness didn't apply to her. Before she'd even been enrolled into the standard training at age thirteen she'd already been programmed with the will to kill. Despite words from instructors saying that Junko only needed about a single year instead of the full two, her father insisted that she receive as much training as possible. He didn't allow Junko to take any shortcuts and even encouraged those who were in charge of her training to be extra tough on her. Some instructors would be impressed while students alongside Junko would instead be horrified of what Junko was capable of. In one instance during the first stage of training, Junko broke her sparring partners arm. She said he deserved it since he didn't defend himself properly. At the second stage during one exercise that had the trainees in pairs, Junko continuously used the temporary paralysis jutsu on her partner. Her reason being that her teammates failure to meet the requirements kept causing them both to fail. So, she was encouraging her to do better. In the third stage during a combat exercise, Junko forced her opponent she'd apprehended to quit the training. She called him out on his cowardice and stated that the imperial military had no place for sniveling cowards.

    After her graduation (which her father had no doubts about her passing) Yoshihiro gave Junko her first and only ever true gift. A sword that belonged to her dead and traitorous mother. It was specially made for wind style users and Yoshihiro saw no desire to discard it. Instead it was now Junko's as well as all the memories carried with it. That blade took the life of one of Yoshihiro's squademates and put numerous scars on his own body. On that day Junko's father made her promise that she'd purify this treachours weapon with the blood of the enemy and traitors alike.

  • Name of Weapon or Item: Windao

    Description: A single curved edged sword designed with wind style users in mind. The weapon is forged in a manner that keeps the blade thin in order to keep it as light as possible. The punched out holes within the blade help with the weight but also aid in other functions. To those trained in blind fighting, the air that rushes through these holes will aid them in combat when sight is impaired. Additionally, these modifications allow for wind style users to more easily channel their chakra into the blade in order to utilize wind styled jutsu.

    Junko's father relinquished the weapon from his wives corpse and gave it to Junko as she graduated from the imperial training. It is her most prized possession as it is one of the few things that she actually owns; despite the memories that come with it. She maintains it with more care than any other piece of her equipment. It is commonly sheathed in a simple leather holder that's tied on the upper right area of her back.

Only thing that I may desire to see changed is that you link the techniques as:

It kind of is useful for future use if you or anyone else wants to read up on the canon technique you desire to use.

    Dutiful. Ambitious. Determined. Focused. Practical. Hard-working. Efficient. Distantly polite. Loyal. Cautious. Workaholic. Straightforward. Formal. Prone to envy. Unsympathetic.

    On the surface, Sana is a polite to friendly person, but she doesn’t form connections easily, and is indifferent to most people. Outside her family, she has never been close enough to anyone to call them a friend. Her cousins were enough for her, and so she never really learned how to form relationships where the family-bond wasn’t present. She spent her time at the academy mostly to herself, focusing on training. She’s not at all shy, though, and while willing to speak out, she isn’t particularly bold either. However, when she does form a bond, it tends to last. Despite knowing rationally that it’s an easily exploitable weakness, she’s fiercely loyal to those scant few people she’s genuinely close to.

    A core characteristic of Sana is how very goal-oriented and efficient she is. She’s been noted to be dutiful, hard-working, and ambitious. While she is determined to better herself, that doesn’t stop her from being cautious, envious, or even afraid of those above her. She has no problem obeying her superiors, but she’s not keen to connect with them or confide in them for those problems she considers private. Sana’s only expectation for her future team-leader and team-mates is that they will be able to cooperate, be civil, and trust each other on a professional level, but doesn’t see it as a necessity that they ‘click’ on a personal level. As such, she tends to be curt and distant in the presence of superiors.

    Though she’s watchful, and has a pretty good memory for the little details, she isn’t as good at connecting the dots into a clear, large picture. For example, she can spend a long time with a person, but still feel indecisive as to what sort of character they have. She may possess several pieces of information, but hesitate (or be outright unable) to draw firm conclusions if some pieces of the puzzle are missing. And in the case of noticing a trap, her first instinct would be to immediately dismantle it, and she’d have to actively restrain herself to consider whether leaving it in place might be more beneficial. All in all, Sana is fairly straightforward. Though she has a strong desire to advance in ranks, she has no clue how she could lead a team (or even more intimidating, several teams), but hopes that working as a follower will give her clues on how to eventually be a leader herself.​

  • Backstory:


    Sana’s parents had her relatively late, since they were both a part of the military, and her mother needed permission before a long-term absence. As it was, Sana was born to Nariko in 460, several months after the start of the Great Shinobi War. As such, she was nurtured by her mother for perhaps half-a-year. Then, her mother returned to active duty, while Sana was handed to Amaya, Nariko’s younger sister, who was also pregnant at the time. Sana was mainly raised by her aunt and uncle during her early years, but she did get to interact with her parents whenever they were able to return home.

    However, her mother was killed during the final battle of the Great War, and her father returned a changed man. He was withdrawn, yet determined to raise his daughter right. He still performed his job as a military man, despite how disgusting he often found work beneath the subsequent tyrants to be. Kaien personally never dared to join any uprisings until his daughter was older; he did eventually help deposit both the fourth and fifth Mizukage. He joined the Swords of Truth soon afterwards, desiring to push for a stronger military for the Republic, which he saw as the dawn of something good for Kirigakure.

    As for Sana, she had not understood for a long time what it meant that her mother would never return. She barely had any memories of Nariko, and though she saw how deeply affected her aunt was by the tragedy, she didn’t quite understand. She did miss her mother at several points in her life, but she quickly rationalized her death as the oft inevitable part of duty. Her grief and disappointment at the lack of a mother were never particularly strong. Besides, her father never mentioned his pain, and after the first two years or so, neither did her aunt. All in all, raised as she was by her father, aunt, and uncle, Sana lived a relatively normal and content life.

    Sana was most strongly influenced by her father, though, and adopted his ideology. Kaien always drilled into her the need to be strong enough to protect herself. He often trained her himself, whenever he had the time, from as early as she was able to remember. Besides the scant few pictures of her mother, and even rarer memories of her, the only memento Sana had of her was the katana Nariko had had commissioned during the Great War. As such, Sana became interested in kenjutsu from an early age, which she chose as the first thing she’d try to master.

    Her aunt and uncle, in contrast to her father, were much less militant, and often cautioned her of the dangers of active duty. Ironically, spending time with them and experiencing the warmth and safety of a civilian life (but also their wariness and fear of ever-present dangers) only fueled Sana’s desire to follow her parents’ footsteps and become a shinobi. She took the training under her father seriously, and excelled in the Military Academy. She was found capable of molding chakra – not a surprise when both her parents had been able to – and entered Shinobi Academy. Sana graduated without a problem, and has been set to work at the barracks until her assignment to a team was finalized.​

She has long since come to terms with her death. However, the thoughts of whether her mother would be proud of her is one of the things that drives her in her pursuits.​

    Sana's father, currently 47 years old. A military man and a member of the Swords of Truth. He has trained Sana since an early age, and has been a strong inspiration for her to become a shinobi. The person Sana most respects so far, though they are pretty cold and formal to each other - mainly because Kaien has been more detached and strict ever since his wife's death. However, they do care for each other strongly - they just don't show it in a mushy or cuddly manner.​

    Other Relatives:
    • Amaya Kasai, Sana's aunt (her mother's sister). Currently 36 years old. Amaya has served as Sana's surrogate mother since before her first years, since Nariko had to return to active duty as soon as she could due to the war. Her aunt has also often watched over her after Sana's death, helping Kaien take care of her when he couldn't. Sana has a very warm relationship with Amaya.​
    • Mizuki Kasai, Sana's uncle (Amaya's husband). Currently 40 years old. He is another of Sana's guardians, so she is very close to him. More nurturing but also more laidback than her father, Sana loves him, but tends to dismiss his worries over her becoming a shinobi.​
    • Seren Kasai. Currently 15 years old. Sana’s honorary sister. They grew up together, and are close friends – despite not having much in common.​
    • Yoru Kasai. Currently 11 years old. Sana’s honorary brother. This solemn boy is secretly her favourite cousin.​
    • Yuma Kasai. Currently 11 years old. Sana’s honorary brother. The younger, mischievous twin often drives her crazy, but Sana is also strongly protective of him.​
    • Kirari Kasai. Currently 5 years old. Sana’s honorary sister. The darling of the Kasai family, though Sana hasn’t managed to connect with her as well as she has with her other cousins. A rather spoilt child.​

    • Good kenjutsu. Sana's swordsmanship outshines most genin.​
    • Practiced chakra control. Admirably effective for a genin.​
    • Slightly above average strength. Constantly wielding a sword does that. However, some focused training would do her a lot of good.​
    • Average ninjutsu. So far, she's been using it mostly as a supplement for her kenjutsu, though she does seem to have a knack for it.​
    • Average taijutsu. Not nearly as noteworthy as her kenjutsu. If disarmed, Sana will be able to hold off for a while against the average genin, but her priority will certainly be to retreive her weapon.​
    • Average at using ninja tools. Still needs a lot of practice.​
    • Average genjutsu. Not really her forte, but she can manage some basic stuff with it. Sana will need a lot of practice if she ever wants to pick up more genjutsu techniques.​
