The Roleplay has taken and mixed various genres as sources into its foundation. Started as a Naruto Roleplay, it is safe to say that New Generation' is something else. With interesting lore, made by dedicated writers, 'New Generation' will provide ample opportunity to make you experience a most interesting and dangerous world. But one not without its beauty and charm.

The Rules

As one may understand, we have our set of rules to keep things fun and balanced for everyone. Please do read them and if you have any questions, don't feel afraid to ask.

  • Rule no. 1: Don't be a jackass. To put it in plain, simple words; constructive criticism is okay, swearing at others or verbally harrass isn't.
  • Rule no. 1B: People don't like each other, that's natural. What isn't natural is bullying them into oblivion. If an argument escalates, be the better person and walk away. Ask one of the GM's to help you. In case you are having a disagreement with a GM, then try to approach another GM.
  • Rule no. 2: If you don't agree with someone or something, you can tell them that. Nobody is going to feel insulted because of that (lest you don't follow rule no. 1 and 1b.) and most actually feel like you helped them. However, remember that the GM's always have the last word, don't argue with them if they don't agree with what you say. It's fine to bring it up, it's not fine to drag an argument on for pages. Again, try to contact one of the other GM's if you can't agree with one of the decisions. But stay civil at all times.
  • Rule no. 3: Create a genin first. Don't spam the thread asking if you can be a jounin or kage or whatever you want to be. We can't just give every rank away when there is no spot for it - or if they aren't obtainable through just making a character. Besides, some ranks won't be given if we have the idea you're too inactive. Bit blunt, but true.
  • Rule no. 4: Keep your characters logical. Nobody has ever seen a genin with the power of a kage. It has to make sense to be accepted. Else look at the character creation section for more information.
  • Rule no. 5a: Don't complain about the roster not being updated. If your character has been accepted by two GM's, you are free to post the respective character sheet into the Accepted Character Thread. The character roster is just something to help. If after a while you haven't been added yet, contact either: Gerontis or one of the GM's.
  • Rule no. 5b: Keep in mind that if you join, every character is property of you and the RP. IF you get kicked, banned or leave then your character will belong to the GM's as they see fit. With getting accepted, you've agreed to this rule. It isn't about us wanting to have your character, but it allows the GM team to do something if it ends up freezing a scene or such. We don't use this rule unless the situation is in dire need of it.
  • Rule no. 6: Much like the rule with the genin, if the Head Gm or OOC GM's don't think your capable of handling another character( no matter what rank), based on performance or activity, then they have the full right to deny the character on this rule. If you don't agree, don't drag it out but try to talk with the Head GM or ask one of the other GM's to help you. Though keep in mind to turn back the decision, a majority of the GM Team needs to agree on the matter.
  • Rule no. 7: In order to keep things fun for everyone and to put emphasis that this RP is story-based and not all about killing, assaulting and murdering somebody else, you can't kill one character without the permission of the creator/owner of the character. The only other way is to ask and let the Head GM agree on the action to kill the character of the other person. Also, don't be overly using gore. If you violate this rule, then don't look surprised if we take measures to keep you out of fights for a very long time. Or kick you out of the RP.
  • Rule no. 8. : Not all characters can have a mangekyou sharingan, eternal sharingan or whatever you may desire. Keep it logical or don't keep it at all. Custom gekkei genkai will be accepted when they make sense. The more traits a KG will give, the harsher we will be with grading it. This also counts for how we will review high ranked tech's, and other things like Space-Time Jutsu.
  • Rule no 9. : Even if you don't like them, respect the GM's and other players. The GM's are the people that try to make it fun for everyone with ideas and to keep order. Give them also some credit for trying to be around to help people with questions and doing just more than having fun on their own - without getting paid. Also, this rule counts in the chat. If you violate this rule, don't expect any kind of mercy. This also means that if one GM ask you to cool down, then cool down. If for some reason you are upset or angry, then do try to contact a GM that hasn't gotten involved or Gerontis.
  • Rule no 10. : Please don't, but really DON'T do anything rashly like running and becoming a rogue without talking with the Head GM and GM's first. If you take an action like that, expect that you will likely be losing one character and then not being given some nice position for quite some long time. If you want to make a baddie, ask it to Gerontis, who can help you out with that. But notice that it sometimes might take a whole arc before your bad guy/girl gets into action.

Explaining the responsibilities of leading a team and having a higher rank position.

Teams

A team is led by a squad leader. This doesn't always have to be a jounin as chuunin can also lead squads. IC wise it is considered to lead, train and try to guide your students/squadmates. It is up to the leader of a team to organise missions and training. Though team members can easily try to find training and if they find their leader inactive enough, requesting a mission at the Jounin Commander (and if there is none, the kage/leader).

It can happen that a team is being held up due to a person being inactive or what so ever. In case this happens, a team leader can decide to godmod the character lightly - don't go overboard with this! - in order to get the team still moving. However, when the team is active and have an inactive team leader, they can approach the person who's in charge of the corps they belong to. This is often the Jounin commander and not the kage. Only approach the kage or higher if you can't get the jounin commander or any other commander.

Commanders

A commander isn't just an honorary title, but a responsibility. Your character is leading a corps or detachment and needs to help thus ruling and managing the forces or some other field of the total leadership over a nation. This means that they are important for the management and can also try to suggest (OOC and IC wise) to their leader all kind of stuff. Perhaps your Guard commander has an idea on how to improve the efficiency of the police or guard corps? Does your Jounin commander have a great suggestion on how to improve the discipline or another aspect of the forces?

Be creative and like a team, try to see if you can else get an assignment from your leader. You practically can't say that you haven't got anything to do with your higher rank as you could see it as a loose-based team/squad with the other commanders as your team members and your leader as the squad leader. Try to else get some connection going on and cooperate with your other commanders as it will benefit the nation as making it perhaps more fun to write for them.

How to get a position
To get a commander position you can easily ask for it. Approach the leader or an important person in a village and simply request it. It is alright to ask it, as it shows your interest. Probably you should ask it in a polite manner and not demand it.

Another manner is to have a character being capable of a position. Commanders and higher-ups are people who can be loyal and trustworthy, but also know a thing or two about politics or leading others. They are advisers, commanders and politicians. This means that a simple brute is less likely to be promoted to such a rank and responsibility. Do note however that a person of a position like these isn't going to be fighting on the front lines all the time. They are leaders, not simple brutes.

What to do?
A commander is capable of advising their leader. Trying to make suggestions on improving something and how. Leading their corps and manage it. A commander can thus lead a part of the village's forces or such if they are assigned to that role. Do remember that while a commander/leader is granted this right that they can lose it if their superior deems them unworthy. Thus, this isn't just a position of that a character is some powerhouse (as commanders don't need or will do a lot of combat), but one that comes with the responsibility to maintain it.


Due to the many advantages of the Byakugan, the range isn't like the cannon of kilometres wide. With the advantages, one has in a combat situation, the max limit for starting characters or those who haven't trained it is roughly around twenty metres. One can increase this with training posts and such, but the max limit for even talented users is set to 40 metres.

And before you think that this very unfair, keep in mind that a normal battle is fought out in an area of around 30 metres. The ability to zoom in and out requires chakra and can be taxing if done too much in a fight. Again, this isn't to pester those use this dojutsu, but seeing one can see through many (not all!) genjutsu, it is only to balance it out.


Unlike the cannon, one that has a sharingan eye can't just copy other elements that he/she hasn't mastered yet. One can't also copy sealing and other specialised fields if they don't have the required chakra control, mastery on the field and experience. Also, take note that the sharingan can't see through obstructions - such as dense smoke - in order to keep it balanced out.

Due to the IC fact that only 30% of the Uchiha can activate their sharingan and the fact that most Uchiha PC's can/have awakened them I'll invoke a new rule. This is to make the sharingan, not a common phenomenon, as it isn't that common- at least not here.

Everybody that has a PC Uchiha or character with (one) sharingan can't have another character with the dojutsu. The following Uchiha of the person is thus forced to be an Uchiha without the sharingan.


Some techniques as Body Flicker aren't allowed to be used in combat. They can be used outside combat or in order to arrive at a scene in what you might think as a cool way. But during combat or try to flee from it isn't allowed. Some high-speed techniques that are allowed in combat aren't allowed to become auto-dodge or hit movement nor can they be used in any reckless or careless manner to just win a battle.


Due one learns the basic things as that pain and the kai, otherwise, release can be used to break free from genjutsu, please don't be quick to just break out of a genjutsu. Certainly not when your character isn't experienced with or against genjutsu. Please remember that genjutsu aren't easy to execute and that a very cruel/grim image isn't easy to ignore.

Unless your character has experienced or been hardened enough to ignore such visions and illusions. Otherwise, don't be a game-breaker by instantly recognising genjutsu. This even goes for some high ranked characters!


Jinchuriki won't gain instant access to the chakra pools of their tailed beast or any ability that the beast can grant or that can be gained. To gain one or two requires one to 'tame' the beast. This means that they have opened the seal and either has gained the beast's approval and cooperation or being able to tame it with force. Also, note that even though a jinchuriki that has opened the seal and has gained some good chakra control, that they can't just go endlessly using ninjutsu.

Due to a human body, a jinchuriki needs to be careful to not keep on using chakra taxing technique one after another. If they do, they can end up in a 'chakra burning state'. This is a state where their body will start to ache and eventually will make them collapse.


War can happen at any time. With nations that employ a lot of military activity, it isn't rare to see one nation deploying forces in order to attack another or defend themselves. However, unlike the cannon, battles between armies here aren't about a mass of shinobi using ninjutsu or charging each other without proper formations. One of the facts is that the military isn't full composed out of shinobi. They form up around 35% of the total military force. This means that out of ten people in the military are 2 serving into the shinobi corps. It is after all not reasonable to occupy a region by just a specialised part of the military - due to being heavily outnumbered by the population and other factors. With this, it is thus argued that ninjutsu isn't a common sight among the large-scale battlefields.

Ninjutsu and other chakra using fields and specialisations use hand signals it is an unwritten rule that one can't use it in the thick of battle. A second can be the difference between life and death. While you're trying to weave through the required hand signals, an arrow could have pierced your neck. And shinobi or not, once you're bleeding to death, you're done for it on the battlefield.

The other aspect why it is only logical and realistic why armies won't use ninjutsu (seeing that most aren't heavily trained/educated in ninjutsu) is due to the fact it exhausts their troops and also causes too much collateral damage. If your comrade next to you spit out a fireball in order to burn an enemy or two to ash, he could potentially damage allies. Or blind them due the smoke or fire. Due a battle being chaotic enough with people swinging weapons and trying to kill each other, it isn't thus advised to use ninjutsu. Some who won't require hand signals could work, but beware that they still require focus. And a slip of focus could result in death.

For this reason, warfare is a bit different here. Here, you could basically say :

- Large scale battles :
Here forces are fighting in the 'traditional' manner. Cavalry, infantry and such formations are the only use of fighting one another. This is mostly done between large armies.

- Big skirmishes
Here it is a sort of light mix. Some groups could use ninjutsu, but the use of it is rare and only done on orders of the leading officer etc. This is mostly done between detachments of armies.

- Skirmishes
The typical Naruto Skirmishes. Basically, small groups of sides meeting each other and due to the small size of the group using ninjutsu. Still not recommended to use chakra taxing or large scaled techniques as this can still tire out a shinobi as well alert other nearby enemy forces. These battles are also often the most frequent as small groups are being sent to do recon, assault or other tasks to undermine an enemy host before facing it in direct battle.

Another thing one must take the notion of is that during large-scaled battles that some might take up armour and arms that are meant to be used to protect oneself better. After all, you can't jump around as in small or 1 vs 1 fights when you need to march and fight in order. And if you decide to jump up high, you're making yourself an easy target for enemy archers or other skirmishers. Next to annoying comrades and disrupting the formation.


[ Soldiers - Shinobi ]

Seeing that it has been asked and discussed several times, this section will explain several matters why the military isn't fully composed out of shinobi. To start, soldiers often start also at a young age with their career. This is because in the setting there isn't social care as some of us enjoy. Meaning that children have and will be earlier accepted in adulthood. This is not only thus restricted to military careers but to all craftsmanship and jobs. The age of when people are generally considered adults is at the age of 16. Why this young? Because life expectancy is lower in this setting, which is relatively closer to the 1600-1700's of our own time.

Another reason why the military forces aren't fully composed out of shinobi is that the fact that the majority of the population isn't fond of them. There are clans and factions who train and focus on bringing forth the best kind of shinobi. We will not indulge in what kind of shinobi - as that alone can make this quite long as there is a lot of different 'style' shinobi. But the Shoji Occupation that happened in the year 474 showed and made it clear that the majority of the population isn't fond of shinobi. Of course, as always, there are unwritten rules and complications that make a civilian accept one infamous shinobi and not another. Mainly in how their reputation is, but the majority of the shinobi corps is less trusted than the 'regular soldiers'.

Then there is the fact that soldiers have shown the use of chakra coating before. Not to make their weapons have much longer reach or being on par with shinobi. But for defensive purposes. A soldier is thus in terms of stamina and strength easily on par with shinobi - seeing that they are drilled almost every day unlike some shinobi - and are able to use a veil of chakra through the use of their shields or weapons to blockade a shinobi's attack. Meaning that a formation of soldiers can even form a protective wall against several shinobi users, who will exhaust themselves much faster.

Though do note that this doesn't mean that shinobi or ninjutsu is useless in combat or warfare. It means that in some situations it just doesn't prevail or make shinobi superior over soldiers. Soldiers are more trained and at home in fighting as a cohesive unit where shinobi are more mobile with being able to walk over some surfaces. This, however, as with everything, has its costs as this will reveal who is and who isn't a shinobi. Leading that the enemy can try to take down the shinobi - who are often being given scouting and subterfuge operations - which can limit and hamper a military force.

[ OOC Reasons: ]

Some people, however, still question why this kind of war system, regardless of the IC fact that the majority of the population doesn't favour shinobi, is being worked instead of this or that. That is quite simple to explain actually. Ignoring the IC facts, there is the problem that when ninjutsu can decide the outcome of battles, sieges and war that only higher-ranked characters can be of importance. Yes, it is true that with the current system that lower-ranked characters will not be more important. However, they have more chance to be of importance. Where they can't use big ninjutsu to deflect another big ninjutsu attack or try to take down a jounin or other kind of elite shinobi, they can have their moments to shine on the battlefield. With the current system, they can be soldiers that now and then have their moments in the spotlight, managing to defend their commander who just got stabbed in the side. Or managing to try to hold a place together with soldiers to buy some time for their allies. That having said it is also much easier to write and follow this kind of battles than a whole mix of shinobi formations throwing ninjutsu at each other to gain the upper hand. Not to mention it can be quite repetitive as it will just be determined easier by which side has more jounin who is deadly in such situations.


Promotion can be gained in several manners. The promotion from genin to Chuunin can be easily done through the Chuunin exam or else having done enough missions. However, it is a bit trickier to become a specialised or full-fledged jounin. This requires one to gain the personal permission of the leader(s). Next, to that, skill in battle isn't all that it takes to become a jounin. A (specialised) jounin are regarded as officers or higher ranked personnel.

Having a simple strong brute leading them can lead to devastating defeats, meaning that jounin are people who have been trained or at least know the drills and ways of leading others. Failing in doing so can lead to demotion, which can be done with the proper reason. Such as failing miserably due to not leading the forces in the proper way (thus doing almost no leading when it is required).

Various cultures have formed and decided the traditions and manners of the clans and people in the roleplay's universe.
What follows is a summarized overview of present and dominant cultures within the setting;

  • Chonobi
    A culture that originates from unknown sources, having spread on the western continent centuries ago. While Chonobi is technically a Taika naming, the Chonobi have names for their people - their culture resembling a mixture of old Germanic, Norse and various other cultures.
    The Chonobi culture is present in The Empire of Akino, Dominion of Lightning and Earth Country.

  • Rén
    Rénese is the dominant culture on the eastern continent, and its culture seems to resemble Taika in some vague shape but with more Chinese and Tibetian customs and norms. The Rénese have, much like other dominant cultures, shifted and can be categorized in various sub-groups of their own.

  • Taika
    One of the dominant cultures, especially on the western continent and the 'Five Great Nations'. Taika is a mixture of various oriental cultures, with a dominance of Japanese customs and traditions shining through. However, there are differences within the Taika culture, such as the distinct Western and Eastern Taika.
    The Taika culture is present in Nearly all of the nations on the western continent.

  • Yakimara
    The Yakimara claim to be the oldest culture on the western continent, and it isn't entirely sure when their influence and power was diminished or overtaken by the Taika. However, many of the Yakimara people have yet to forgive or forget these ancestral slights.
    Their culture is only present within the Empire of Akino and the Siluren clan, within the Dominion of Lightning.

Please do note that you're not required to learn a new language. Often, if not at all times, when a character switches to speak to a different language or dialect - the writer states this in their entries. It is allowed to write in distinct languages, but don't hesitate to get in touch with the GM team if you have questions regarding this or want to emulate it.

  • Chonobi
The Chonobi language is described by outsiders as short and harsh, whereas others find the language most useful to convey emotions. The language is formed by writing in runes, which has made it hard for outsiders to understand the myriad of runes and their meanings. It is common in the eastern half of the Akinian Empire as the far northern reaches of the Northern Dominion.
  • Palahvi
The dominant language within the Sayyadian realm is Pahlavi, bearing no resemblance to Taika. Because of that fact, many Sayyadians claim that their culture and people are older - and thus more prestigious than their neighbouring realms. Pahlavi seems to incorporate a lot of body language to emphasize meanings.
  • Qigalth
Qigalth is one of the few surviving languages that may originate within the archipelago islands cultures. Some historians and linguistics believe and attempted to prove with their research that Qigalth is a unique language on its own, with nearly no influence from Taika or Rén. Qigalth itself having a lot more different vowels and aspiration consonants, providing it with a rather unique sound compared to Taika or Rén. Qigalth is only utilized within the Jirou Authority, originating from the Akechi clan.
  • Taika
Taika is the most dominant language on the western continent. While many dialects and accents are present within the Taika language, it is entirely possible for two foreigners to have an exchange; as long as they speak slowly and concisely. Many communities within the western sphere of the Eastern continent have been influenced by Taika - through commerce and politics.
  • Yakimara
Yakimara is a language most common in the southern and eastern part of the Akinian Empire. Many seem to like the language, for how nicely it flows and sounds - almost describing it as a sort of singing. With the rise of the Akinian Empire, people of education have started to adopt the language as an 'intellectual' one - giving prestige to those who speak it fluently in the Academic world within the Empire.



The technology in canon Naruto is quite confusing, and seeing as this is an Alternative Universe RP with its foundation based on Naruto, you can find some similarities. On the ground of technology, we try to be less confusing, and for that reason, you'll see less modern or Industrial technology than you can find in the canon.
It is safe to say that there won't be much electric hardware or advanced technology. Instead of making a list of available items, it is safe to assume that the technology is based on 1500-1550 technology without any advancements in gunpowder weaponry.

There is the usual kind of animals around in the RP. Panthers, wolves, hounds, cats, tigers, bears, and you name it. All kinds of animals that we are also used to in our own life. However, thanks to the fantasy theme in the RP setting, it is not that strange that some rarities appear every once in a while. After all, the Bijuu can be considered the strongest of the mythological kind of creatures that can occur in the setting. But some others have made their entry and left some impact in the setting.

The Empire of Akino is considered a beacon of hope. A bastion of civilization, strength and tolerance. A nation that stands proud against the neighbouring and more barbaric folk that want to destroy it, out of fear and envy. For many foreign nations, the Empire of Akino isn't the benevolent neighbour. Many dread the Imperial military and see them as a threat to their own sovereignty. Imperial tolerance is preceded by unforgiven and often shady warfare, conducted by Imperial operatives. For those who are unlucky to be born outside the Akinian Empire, the nation is nothing but a danger lurking on the horizon.

Proud citizen, stand at the ready! For while the Empire is a young nation, it has a proud background.One that must be defended! One that must not be forgotten!

The Empire was found after the Fire Union, which was based on the Fire country. The Fire country was already a nation divided among clans, cultures and religions. While it seemed stable to the outside world, as a bastion of strength and power, it struggled with keeping the rivalling clans in check. During the Warring Clans, these very same clans clashed in major conflicts with each other. Merciless and harsh warfare was conducted. And rarely was there ever the gift of mercy given by one party to another.
Amid this chaos, bloodshed and envy would be the first hope of peace and stability. A pact was made between the Senju and Uchiha clans to form what would become the first unified settlement. Coincidentally, not long after would the Fire country is unified underneath the banner of the Hanamoto dynasty.

Peace seemed to replace chaos and strife, at least, at the surface. The Hanamoto daimyos attempted to solve the problems with harsh punishment. Instead of seeing their problems becoming smaller, the Hanamoto dynasty soon found itself collapsing underneath the problems.
The power vacuum briefly allowed the Hokages to wield more influence and power. This, eventually, would allow the Second Hokage to lead more resources in the Great War. Even as the Fire country was winning various key battles, they were losing ground on nearly every front. For every victory, two defeats were dealt on other locations.

Hope was fleeting for the Fire country until an alliance was forged with the Lightning country. This alliance was born out of desperation and necessity but allowed the Fire country to gain ground on the northern front. Once the threat of the Earth country was dealt with, the Fire country focused on the remaining fronts.
The surge of reinforcements saw the Fire country winning ground back and allowing them to survive the war as one of its few victors.

The 'Decade of Peace' allowed the Fire country to lick its wounds and find some respite, at large. There were various troubles that occurred and even a small conflict arose once more between the Wind and Fire country. But underneath the leadership of the Third Hokage, the nation preserved and continued to survive. Such as the downfall of the Hanamoto dynasty and the Elders of Konohagakure coup.
Till the Shoji Oppression managed to slip and with the forced approval of the Jinryu dynasty, the successors to the Hanamoto, the forces of Shoji started to station at various important sites. Not surprisingly, conflict was introduced back into the Fire country as various clans and factions fought against the oppression. And, eventually, the Fire country would wrestle itself free from Shoji's grasps.
Due to the problematic situation that had occurred, the Fourth Hokage would form what was known as the 'Fire Union'. A military pact managed by the Hokage with several neighbouring countries of the Fire country, that swore fealty to the Hokage. Thus preventing that the Jinryu daimyo would bring forth another disaster, weakening the nation.
The Fire Union lasted only for a few years, introducing newfound prosperity and growing might under the wing of the Fourth Hokage. However, changes were made and slowly over time the structure of the Fire Union paved the way to a new government and nation: the Empire of Akino.

The rise of the Akinian Empire wasn't the easiest transition. In his wisdom, the Fourth Hokage appointed his apprentice to become the first Empress of the empire. This decision wasn't greeted by all influential clans and individuals with joy. Yet with the aid of loyal advisors, the young Empress started to guide the young realm to a brighter future. All in spite of the obstacles that continued to test the Empire's will to survive and endure.


The Empire continues on its course to stay as the bastion of order within this chaotic world. Will you do your part? The Imperial military beckons, citizen!

It is even a growing myth that the heavens will pour rain when her Majesty is troubled by immense sorrow, resembling her tears. Even though her Hon origin, the Empress hasn't played favourites and is willing to reward her loyal. Known for her sharp judgement and being a talented star, many individuals are willing to entrust the fate and future of the Empire in her judgement.

  • The Third Hokage and Lord Commander, Zakito Hon
    The Third Hokage has been a strong pillar of providing stability for the realm. The Lord Commander, a keen military mind, has been responsible for mentoring many fledgling heroes that now defend the Empire. Wise and influential, the Lord Commander has gradually become one of the most influential advisors to the Imperial Crown.

  • Scholae Yumi Hasewaga
    Wielding the rare Crystal release, Yumi Hasewaga is reckoned as the Empress Wrath personified. An extremely competent combatant, Yumi has earned the Empress' favour further by her shrewd dealings in diplomacy - representing the Akinian Empire without flaw. Her arrival is often replied with fear and dread, with not many daring to oppose her.

  • Captain-Commander of the Guardians, Hayate Hyuzu
    One of the few Dragonriders of the Hyuzu clan and leader of the Guardians, Hayate Hyuzu is tied to the Empress herself. Bethroded, the young man has earned renown and glory to his name for his exploits. A potent combatant and leader, many people already see the making of a great leader in Hayate Hyuzu.

  • Scholae Kensuke Nimatsu
    A renowned master of the sword, Kensuke Nimatsu, has allowed him to gain some glory of his own - before ascending the rank of Scholae by the grace of her Majesty. A fearsome adversary, Kensuke is dreaded among Akinian's rivals for his tenacity and stubbornness.


  • Scholae Koike Hon
    One of the Scholae, Koike's name, has become a near-synonym with intrepidity. Being one of the Empress favourites, the rumour of his lethality in swordsmanship and genjutsu has earned him the respect and dread of many. What further has cemented Koike as a growing Akinian person of renown is his feats as a military leader.

  • The Captain-Commander of the Tiger Claws, Hiroshi Hon
    The leader of the skilful Tiger Claws, Hiroshi Hon, is an individual that has earned Imperial favour through diligence and loyalty. An experienced leader of warriors, Hiroshi has gained the respect of others through his skill and strong personality. Having gathered many prominent members underneath his leadership, Hiroshi is a vital pillar - supporting the Empress reign with stark commitment.

    Situated in the south is one of the most powerful, influential clans within the Empire. A beautiful rose that arises and has grown strong roots, one shouldn't forget its razor-sharp thorns. With wealth and steel, the Cho clan seems more than ready to guard what they consider theirs.

  • Hon Clan - led by @Gerontis
    The Hon clan are folk known for their loyalty, stubbornness and bravery. Known for their skill in war and craftmanship, the Hons consolidated their might as one of the Great Clans within the Empire. The wolves of Akino are ready to tackle any challenge, as long as it promises to provide a good song and reason to feast afterwards.

  • Scylding Clan - led by @Aliceee
    The Scyldings are one of the Great Clans within the Akinian Empire. They are mostly known for their versatile rangers, who stalk the woodlands and valleys with unmatched skill in the bow and spear. Their knowledge of herbalism makes others seek out their services. But what is truly their most valuable asset, sought out by others, is their stalwart loyalty. For they never forget, nor easily forgive.

  • Tokugawa Clan - led by @Oblivion666
    Wealth flows through the Empire by commerce and production. The Tokugawa are known to be masters of trade and industry, having fought great odds in their history to reach their current position. Cunning and clever, the Tokugawa have stood tall and have grown stronger through times of turmoil. Only for the Tokugawa to now provide aid to their allies and their Empire.

  • Uchiha Clan - led by @Oetje
    Cultured and wise, the Uchiha clan is remarked as the pinnacle of Eastern Taika culture. Diligent and brave, not many dare to make an enemy out of this Great Clan, while many seek to gain their favour. The Uchiha clan has shown their shrewdness as generosity through the ages. A beacon of stability, honour and strength.

  • Tamiyo Dynasty - led by @Gerontis
    While not that martial focused, the Tamiyo dynasty has been one of the Great Clans and families within the Akinian Empire. For centuries, they have guarded their homelands with pride and dignity. Governing rich land and earning their subjects' love, the Tamiyo seem to suffer little with their place in the Imperial Sun.

The Noble Clans
  • Hyuuga Clan - led by @GlitchyBugger
    A clan with near ancient bloodlines within their families, the Hyuuga clan is known for their mastery as lethality in martial prowess. Their bloodline providing the powerful Byakugan. Small in numbers, it has proven a fatal fate for many to underestimate the Hyuuga.

  • Hyuzu Clan - led by @ChromeHound
    There are only a few who can hope to match Hyuzu's ability in craftsmanship. The Hyuzu are known for their smiths and near-mythical ability for a few to even bond with a dragon. However, the true strength of the Hyuzu lies in their diligence and near the unrelenting drive to better themselves. The Hyuzu make for worthy allies and deadly foes.

  • Nimatsu Clan - led by GM team.
    Strength and honour guide the Nimatsu people. Bound in the old traditions, the Nimatsu tend not to involve themselves in the troubles of others quickly. Even though they aren't one of the strongest clans within the Empire, the Nimatsu have yet to falter when challenged by a more potent and meaner foe - meeting their challenge with an intense vigour.

  • Nara Clan - led by @ChromeHound
    One of the stronger Yakimara clans, the Nara clan, is known for their intellectuals rather than warriors. However, this focus hasn't made them weaker than many martial-focused clans or people. Instead, their clever diplomats and shrewd advisors have paved a future in which the Nara can enjoy stability and wealth underneath the Imperial Sun.

  • Senju Clan - led by @Nim
    Once one of the Great Clans, the Senju have suffered and declined from their previous station. Yet, it would be unwise to discard the Senju as a valuable clan. While a mere shadow of their past self, the Senju still possess strength and knowledge. Their honour and prestige still open many doors of foreign courts, and their loyalty to the Imperial Sun has allowed them to steer to a possible path, back to their former selves.

  • Yamanaka Clan - led by @Lesli
    Many clans welcome the Yamanaka for their seers and mind-readers. While lacking a passionate dedication to warfare, the Yamanaka have proven themselves as competent defenders. Already the other clans are quick to show their respect whenever the Yamanaka show up to avoid gaining their pitiless wrath.

The Minor Clans
  • Miyazato Clan - led by @FrostedCaramel
    The Miyazato clan is one of the many minor clans present within the Imperial Akinian realm. What makes them different is their growth in influence among the clans and the Empire. Crafty in diplomacy and commerce, the Miyazato have obtained wealth and some semblance of land. Nestled in a favourable position, backed by the Imperial Crown, the Miyazato's future looks bright.

  • Riojin Clan - led by @Oblivion666
    The Dragons of Amegakure are a minor clan that is different from many others. Martial-focused, they have bled for Imperial stability and paid a steep cost for it. Gaining Imperial favour, the Riojin have been gifted with many blessings. Blessings that have only made the Dragons of Amegakure more willing to face the next challenge eagerly.

  • Unkei Clan - led by @Oetje
    Devout to the Way of Fire, the Unkei clan have tasted a semblance of freedom underneath the Imperial governance. Ridding themselves of the shackles of their former masters, the Unkei are a rising power within the Empire. Even as they are depicted as a minor clan, one would be wise to not mock the Unkei without being on guard.

What most consider a cold and frigid land, the North is home to many brave and loyal souls. As one of the most powerful political entities, the Dominion of the North stands strong against its rivals. The many mountain ranges resembling the almost unmovable willpower. To challenge the North is to face a truly fierce opponent. But for many, it is the birthplace of freedom and honour.

Mysterious and isolated, to the north lies the kingdom that is as diverse as the world. Nomadic clans roam the southern plains and bring trade across various points of the country. Noble clans have settled and defended their heartlands with both steel, envy and blood. It is said that ice runs through the veins of the Northerners, allowing them to weather the renowned harsh winter that torments them every year.
Much as many other countries, the Lightning country was born out of the Warring Clans era. The era was filled with various conflicts that left scars of envy and hate, making it a difficult task for anybody to unify the north into one realm. Eventually, it was the small clan of Ranzaki that managed to do so. Through diplomacy and clever negotiations, the Ranzaki daimyo managed to forge a nation that encompassed the present day's realm. The internal struggle continued on between the Great Clans and various factions but to the outside world? A new power had risen and it was clear that the Northerners were willing to face anybody foolish enough to invade them.

In an effort to consolidate their influence and powers, a Ranzaki daimyo attempted to invade the Iron country. This failed military campaign saw a few tactical victories but a major strategic defeat for the Lightning. It learned them a few valuable lessons, which would come in handy during the Great War.
During the Great War, the Lightning country was on the defensive for the first two years. The natural defences allowed the Northerners to be able to withstand most attacks on their soil. Only after having learned enough about their foes, the Lightning country sets its gaze upon the Earth country. A war campaign was announced and the forces of the Lightning country made their moves.

Despite their best intentions, the Lightning country's military suffered various harsh defeats. Only after forging an alliance with the Fire country did the balance tip into the Lightning's favour.
Victories followed after each other, causing the Earth country to sign a peace treaty. Allowing the Lightning country to endure the Great War as one of its victors.
After the Great War, the 'Decade of Peace' saw little to no large turmoil happening within the Lightning country. Various problems did rise but nothing that could stop the nation's growth in power and wealth.

Only when the Shoji Oppression came to do the Northerners find themselves with an unforgiven situation: their freedom being taken.
Conflicts erupted over the Lightning country as clans and various cities started to take up on arms. In a bloody fashion, the Northerners rid themselves of Shoiji forces. A clear warning to the rest of the known world to not threaten the sovereignty of the North.
A few years of peace followed until the threat of Rong came to the North. Various troubling events took place and forced the Lightning to cooperate with the Empire of Akino and the Jirou Authority, in order to face the threat in the far east.

Despite being ready for any external threat, the largest blow would come from within during the struggle against Rong. The late lord, Yasihude Ranzaki was murdered. A succession crisis followed swiftly, splitting the realm into various factions that started to compete with each other. All until the Great Clans, the Fifth Raikage and the Regency remained.
The Regency didn't manage to win much ground until their successful assassination of the Fifth Raikage, plummeting the Raikage's forces into disarray. But with the aid of the Great Clans, the Regency could be put to a stop. And afterwards, the threat of Rong could be effectively combated. As a united North now stands together, the fury of the Northerners can't be ignored.

    A clan in exile since their forced migration North, the Alaricus have managed to gain the status of a Great Clan in the Lightning Country. Using their martial prowess to claim themselves a new home in a foreign land. The Alaricus are blessed with a resource-rich dominion that provides much in the way of trade goods and most all else required to thrive. Competent in waging war, and skilled craftsman the Alaricus are something of lions waiting in the tall grass for their moment.

  • The Hojo Clan: - led by @Oetje
    A proud clan that borders on arrogance, the Hojo are a force of shrewd diplomats, cunning strategists, and unwavering warriors. The Hojo lay claim to a large portion of the West of the Lightning, and in fact far more due to their five additional vassal states. The powerhouse of the North, a beacon of might and stability for a nation in wavering times.

  • The Sanosuke Clan - led by @Aliceee
    A clan of outsiders, surrounded on three sides by enemies and a ferocious and the tempest of the Northern seas, the Sanosuke have risen to their position through a bitter need to survive. Renowned in the North for their seamanship, ferocity in battle, and smithing of almost unmatched quality. The Sanosuke have carved themselves a realm from the blood of their enemies, and a reputation to match.

The Noble Clans
  • The Hishima Clan - led by the GM team.
    A clan of wealth and reserved opulence. They are easily distinguishable for their darker skin pigment. The Hirishima secure their position as a Noble Clan through an industry focused on the entertainment of the wealthiest of the North and trade on the unforgiving Northern seas.

  • The Jun Clan - led by @Gerontis
    A newcomer to the political landscape of the North, the Jun trace their clan history back far further than many of the other Northern clans care to even look. Gifted their current position in the North as key military leaders by the currently deposed Ranzaki dynasty, the Jun seek to maintain their position with tooth and claw.

  • The Saemund Clan: - led by @Nim
    Considered a clan of isolationist rabble by the true clans of the North, the Saemund lay claim to the many isles of the Northern Seas, and truly hail from the Snow Country located in the bitter cold of what they would claim the true North. A clan built as much off of its propensity for trade as it is off of the work of their alliance. They hold position as a Noble clan thanks only to their alliance with the Sanosuke.

  • The Nomads of the North - led by the GM team.
    A loose collection of Nomadic clans, ranging from little more than groups of families living amongst the snow blown wastes and permafrost frozen taiga of the North to powerful clans. With no true unifying factor, all the nomads focus on survival in a harsh and unforgiving reality in ways different from the next. Reindeer and sheep aplenty.

  • Lord Daimyo, Keitaro Ranzaki
    A young man who is inexperienced in politics and governing has aspirations to win the faith and love of his subjects. On paper, Keitaro makes the laws and decrees that steers the grand realm to prosperity. But many that are well versed in politics are aware that Keitaro is nothing more than a figurehead. For all his decrees are shrewdly manoeuvred by his royal advisor.

  • Royal Advisor, Lord Hojo Mareo
    Lord Hojo isn't a figure of martial prowess that can rival other masters of arms. However, many fear the old clan leader for his wit and cunning - which has allowed him to outmanoeuvre those who could easily beat him in the field of battle, only to lose in politics and diplomacy. Many often whisper Lord Hojo's name as the true power that steers the country.

  • The Red Devil, Asami Sanosuke
    Having survived the reign of two Raikages as their second-in-command, Asami Sanosuke is a person of renown. Her knowledge of the obscure and occult has gained her much praise, as well for combating them. Many individuals acquainted with Asami know of her terrible temper and try not to get on the wrong foot with her.

  • Saviour of the North, Midori Sato
    Thanks to Midori Sato, the North could overthrow their Shoji occupants and thus gain her moniker. It is said that she has tamed the beast of turmoil, the Eight-Tails himself and can command it as she desires it. Residing in the far north, under the protection of the Sanosuke and Sato clan, many believe that she is readying herself for the next calamity to befall the nation.

  • Lord Sixth, Raikage Nariko Jun
    Lord Sixth is the current Raikage of the Lightning. Appointed by Lordship Ranzaki, Nariko has joined the venerable ranks of Raikages. Even as the power of the station has been diminished, thanks to various changed policies and decrees of the crown, Nariko is one of the most skilful combatants that the North can summon forth.

  • Chosen General, Miyara of the Ueda clan
    Miyara is one of the most experienced and critical military leaders of the North. The Hojo clan relied heavily on his expertise during the Succession Crisis, which allowed them to crush the Regent's forces. Aiding the Hojo and Lightning further, it is said that Miyara's skill in leadership and martial prowess rivals that of other renowned masters of arms.

The various isles that form the maritime powerhouse, which is known as the Jirou Authority, are the home of a most powerful nation. One that has seen through bloody rebellions, civil war and facing external threats. Despite all manners of threats, the nation stands proud. And ready for the next threat!

The Jirian history is a troubled one. While regarded as one of the major powers in the world, largely due to its maritime influence and power, the Jirian's past is all but an easy one. It has seen civil wars and various factions vying for power during its turbulent past. Yet, the Jirians strides forward. And it does so with well-deserved pride.
The history of the Jirou Authority starts with the various islands that form the core of the Jirou Authority. Most of these islands had their clans that vied for dominance on their islands, only to seek out to dominate nearby islands afterwards. During the Warring Clans, this forced the clans and inhabitants of these islands to adopt maritime warfare as their main doctrine. And despite the struggles that came to be in the Warring Clans Era, it helped to establish a basic understanding of naval warfare.

At the end of the Warring Clans, the islands would be united by the most influential clan: the Ahina clan. From their seat of power, the Ahina formed a dynasty that started to propel the newfound nation into a new age. In the year 395, the Ahina dynasty had managed to consolidate their power and ruled the dubbed Water Country as its masters.
Unlike the other newfound nations in the western sphere of the world, the Water country prospered. The Ahina dynasty had little dangers internal to challenge them, causing them to shape the country to become one of the most intimidating. Fleets of imposing vessels were built to rule the waves. And as a result, wealth flowed into the country as peace and order were almost guaranteed.

Until the Great War dawned on the world.
The start of the war went well for the Water Country. Under the leadership of the Suzu clan, which had provided the first and second Mizukage, the Water country was able to invade portions of the Fire country and her vassals. Even in spite of harsh challenges and constant hindrances, the Water country forces managed to thrive during the first two years.

Then it went downhill.

The invasion forces were pushed out of the Fire country and while many attempted to fall back, they were merciless hunted and put down by their adversaries. The war started to take a turn and even despite many not willing to believe it, the Fire country managed to land an invasion on the capital island of the Water country. The Great War ended in 464 in a defeat for the Water country. Heralding a time of unrest, discontent and strife.
For what many others call 'The Decade of Peace', was anything but peaceful for the Water Country. Several large revolts were staged and they were all met with a harsh response: blood and steel.

Even the growing reputation of the Water country's forces did little to save the nation from more revolts. Ironically, the Shoji Oppression briefly saw a reprieve from the unrest and revolts but it would be short-lived.
The great Revolution was staged in the year 475. And unlike the previous revolts, the leaders of the Revolution wouldn't back down without a fight to the death.
The revolution bore the birth of the Republic and allowed the nation to briefly find respite from its troubled past. The nation started to lift itself as wealth started to flow back into the Republic through trade. The military started to grow once more as the Republic would remain the largest naval force in the known world. During this time of reprieve, the Republic did struggle with various obstacles, such as growing corruption, but people started to gain hope.

In the year 477, the Republic would be facing a challenge larger than the Great War. In the east, the shadow of Rong was cast on the western sphere of the known world. At the same time, the Republic underwent a drastic change as the stagnant growing regime was replaced with the dominating Jirou Authority.
Faced with such a large opposition, the Jirou Authority was able to 'tolerate' cooperation with the likes of the Empire of Akino and the Lightning country. A harsh and difficult campaign started on the eastern continent, which saw many lives perish on and outside of the battlefields. But this has yet to deter the Jirians to achieve feats and greatness!

Tenacious and driven, the Akechi clan is one of the most powerful clans in the nation for a good reason; they don't take enough with mediocrity.

  • The Hayashi Clan: - led by @Aliceee
    The Hayashi Clan is a very respected clan. Best known for their disciplined and militant families, they are well known for various feats - achieved by both Hayashi of low and high-born. While vast resources at their command, the Hayashi clan has been respected and feared by other clans - for good reasons.


  • The Mizuno Clan - led by @Lesli
    One of the wealthiest and most influential clans within the Jirou Authority. The Mizuno clan holds and lays claim to have royal blood in them, being a surviving branch of the daimyos of old. Though they are one of the most powerful clans in the Jirou Authority, they seem to be quite content with the status quo. Quite the equivalent of a sleeping giant.


The Noble Clans:

  • The Akiyama Clan: - led by the GM Team
    The Akiyama clan is said to be born from the waves, carried onto land. Their culture is heavily orientated on maritime affairs - which isn’t a rarity within the Jirian clans. However, what makes the Akiyama stand out is their expertise. Being reputed sailors and navigators, they are a welcome sight in the Jirian Navy.

Minor Clans:

  • The Yuki Clan: - led by @FrostedCaramel
    The Yuki clan is a clan of foreign origins. Once they were well received and respected within the cold north. But disaster forced them to scatter. A small group of Yuki found their way to the nation, where they settled. Though looked down upon by older and more respected clans, the Yuki aren’t without their thorns. For the last decade or two, they have managed to acquire wealth that rivals some minor clans. It is just the question of whether they can hold on to their position or if somebody will pull the rug from underneath their feet.

  • Roju of the Authority, Jirou Kanbe
    A stern ruler overthrew the past regime, clearing out the Senate that once governed the past Republic. With Roju's ascension, blood briefly filled the streets and reminded people of their brutal past. Once some semblance of peace settled, Jirou assembled advisors and loyal individuals to steer the nation once more to its past glory days.
    (Roju is the title of the leader of the Jirou Authority, meaning 'honourable elder in a government' in Taika.)

  • The Master of Swords, Lord Commander Takeshi Shun
    Takeshi Shun has accomplished to unite the brutal Swordsmen of the Mist with leadership and martial prowess. A veteran of the Great War, Takeshi has been further promoted to the rank of Lord Commander within the Jirou Authority - serving as military head underneath Roju Kanbe's command.

  • Mika Hayashi
    Mika's name is often aligned with the start of the nation's recovery. Mika assembled a revolution against the last of the Mizukages, overthrowing the Fifth Mizukage in a glorious civil war. What happened to the woman afterwards isn't entirely sure. Most people were saddened when the Republic decided to put her to death, while very few individuals were aware that she was protected from any surviving and vengeful Mizukage's loyalists.

  • Jinchuriki of the Six Tails, Aya Oda
    Aya is known to be the sole surviving member of the Oda clan loyal to the Jirou Authority. Her fate was growing only more complicated with becoming the Six Tail's jinchuriki. However, since becoming a jinchuriki, it is rumoured that Aya has been to be mentored by a powerful individual - even allowing Aya to stand nearly against an Akinian attempt to kidnap her.

  • The Traitor, Kiro Oda
    Kiro is one of the most hated individuals within the Jirou Authority. A man who once had a most successful career within the ANBU Division, Kiro decided to throw away his fortune and position to murder the entire Oda clan. Currently, Kiro is being ranked as one of the most dangerous missing-nin known to the Jirou Authority, and various powerful people have placed a hefty bounty on his head.

Shinobi Ranks

Each rank has its limitation and will be graded as such. This is to prevent those characters will become too overpowered for their rank and experience. It won't make sense for a low-ranked character to blow up a house with blinking, to give a mere example. What follows is a short summary of what each rank's limitation is:



Genin - Recruits - Junior Rank

Genin are the lowest level of ninja and also the ones that display the most difference in capabilities, talents and competence. Your first character has to be of this rank.

Genin characters are limited to various manners. They are largely inexperienced and don't tend to have any or a lot of combat experience.
They are allowed to have 2 good traits and skills. To give an idea of what 'good' entitles, here is a small idea of how the scale works:
( Special - Very high - High - Very good- Good - average - bad - worse etc.) - Phrasing it slightly differently is allowed.

Genin are limited to low ranked techniques. Genins often know around six jutsu (2 C-ranked and 4 D ranked at max) and just one element.
Their limit is a total of 8 combat techniques, supplemented by 2 non-combative orientated techniques with 1 clone technique. Making a total of 11 different techniques.

Promotion for genin characters is done through a large variety.
One of the most common is a promotion of merit: where a genin has been able to prove that they are responsible and experienced enough to be taken more seriously. This is usually a promotion after completing various missions. This kind of promotion is given by characters that hold the respective office that deals with such management.
Another method, though very rare, is done through being promoted by the leader of the nation.
A genin can also become recruited into a unit that allows them to bypass a rank, becoming a trainee of a special operative.



Chuunin - Journeyman rank

Chuunin have reached a level of maturity and ability that primarily consists of leadership skills and tactical prowess.
Chuunins are more experienced and based on their performance and an amount of training can have more jutsu, traits and skills. Some chuunin who train a lot or have been doing a lot of missions, gaining enough experience, have gained a second Nature Element.

There are two differences in Chuunin. Experienced and non-experienced' chuunins.

Inexperienced Chuunin
These are usually newly promoted genin to the rank of Chuunin.
  • No option yet for non KG-less characters to develop a secondary nature chakra.
  • A limit of 10 combat techniques, still none higher than B ranked.
  • Promotion: Train and do missions.
Experienced Chuunin
Chuunin that have a good amount of experience under their belt. They are operatives and soldiers that have sufficient combat experience and can be quite reliable for most teams. Experienced chuunins are often eligible to lead teams.
  • Non elemental-KG users can develop one more chakra nature. However, as a secondary nature, it will take work and training to stabilise it. Meaning they can't use better than C ranked techniques for secondary nature.
  • A limit of around 15 combat techniques, only two of B-ranked techniques.
  • Promotion: To become a Tokubetsu Jounin, one has to be an experienced chuunin. Promotions to become a specialised jounin vary, often depending on the character and why the leaders deem that they deserve the rank.



Specialised Jounin - Seasoned Veteran

Characters who hold these rank are operatives who, rather than all-around jōnin training, have jōnin-level ability in a specific area or skill, much like warrant officers in the real-world military. They are elite specialists in their areas and are often assigned as subordinates to regular jōnin when their services are needed.

Specialised Jounin have their field where they are true experts, like on the same level as most Jounin. They often have good traits and some have even three elemental chakra natures, together with strong jutsu.
  • Non elemental-KG users can develop one more chakra nature. However, as a third nature, it will take work and training to stabilise it. Meaning they can't use better than C-ranked techniques for third nature. However, they will not go higher as C-ranked, while if the user has done enough training and put enough effort in it, they can put the limit of their secondary techniques that they can have a limit of 3 B-ranked techniques.
  • A limit of around 20 combat techniques, only three A-ranked techniques.


Jounin, ANBU and other Elite ranks.

Characters that hold a rank higher than Specialised Jounin are considered 'elites'. Due to the massive variety that exist, we don't have a solid base on what their limitations are. As such, characters that are ranked higher than Specialised Jounin are carefully reviewed by the GM team to prevent them from becoming unbalanced and too powerful.

Wikia


The Roleplay has been going on for almost half a decade. With a lot of events and lore, it can be hard to keep track and quite intimidating for newcomers to learn what all happened before they joined. Personality: Despite her rather unpleasant past, Shika Yukimura is a rather upbeat girl. She loves making new friends but most people will notice in time that she never shares anything about herself, masking it with extra curiosity about her allies. She's lost her rebellious nature and follows the law to the w after what happened to her mother. To Shika, loyalty is an absolute must that transcends anything as trivial as what organization one belongs to. After witnessing her mother's death, Shika also resolutely follows the idea of a swift death for her enemies. Torture isn't even a thing reserved for the worst.

Shika is not a forgiving person despite her apparent ability to get over her parents' fate. She just shuts out all bad memories that bother her, choosing to forget rather than forgive. She doesn't believe in natural talent, adamantly defending her idea that hard work and persistence trumps all. Having lived through reigns of the two notorious leaders of Kirigakure has left Shika rather distrustful of the government but she isn't taking any sides in the current conflict in Kirigakure. In fights, Shika loses her positive demeanor. She prefers attacking when the enemies are distracted, making her more of a supportive bursty fighter rather than a front-liner. She always aims to makes the fight as short as possible which means the enemy won't see any mercy from her.

History: Shika Yukimura was born to two veterans of the Great War during the reign of Shouji Suzu. For the first two years of her life, Shika was exposed to war. This meant being shuttled from safe house to safe house and hearing the dying screams of Shinobi as opposed to her parent's coos. Though she would remember barely anything about the Great War, nothing changed the fact that it'd robbed her of a normal childhood. The signing of the treaty was a godsend and Shika's parents retired to tend to their rice paddy fields, as far away from violence as possible. However, Kang Nomonoto proved to be a harsh dictator, something which didn't sit right with Shika's parents. They hadn't fought for their country to be treated like slaves.

They raised Shika up with that in mind, praising what little rebellious acts she committed be it not meeting her work quota or coming home after the curfew. However, they could not count on not getting any repercussions from their actions. One night, as Shika was returning home from a long day of harvesting, she found men loyal to Kang Nomonoto at her house. Her mother was cut down "to size" that night, leaving only her tongue behind to remind the household of their insolence. Faced with such a display, her father began to teach Shika his famed Kyūjutsu in an attempt to protect her. Shika was pushed back into line and further as Kang Nomonoto's men continually harassed the household, taking money, food, and heirlooms while dishing out beatings to each of them. Though Fumiyo Nagano's reign was a little better than Kang's, it was clear that their situation was not going to improve beyond that.

Shika was sent to the Academy to get a formal education, as her father had been beaten too often to do much besides walk with a cane. It wasn't just the physical wounds as well - the death of his spouse had turned him into a shell of who he was. At the Academy, Shika focused on her studies to become a Genin as fast as possible. She wanted to help her father recover, not go on missions as a Kunoichi. She didn't quit the Academy out of obligation to her father, However once she had graduated, she found that her father was beyond help. Senile beyond his years, Hisao Yukimura barely remembered his daughter. Having been robbed of her main goal, Shika is now hesitatingly stepping into her own life.

Personality: Naname is a very shy girl at first but once you get to know her shes sweet and outgoing. Shes very protective over her friends and comrades, often sacrificing herself in some way to protect them if its necessary. She has a natural calm personality, good at keeping a clear head in tough situations, but when her temper snaps she can be a relentless demon. Shes very perceptive when it comes to others, having a natural talent for reading situations and others emotions, even if they try to hide them. She has a vicious stubborn streak when she puts her mind to something, but isnt beyond reason.

History: Nobody really knows where Naname came from, she was found on the doorstep to a orphanage in Kirigakure at only 2 months old. She lived in the orphanage for 4 months before Hisoka and Miki adopted her, since they couldnt have children themselves. She was always a quiet child, never wanting to pick a fight or cause another person, or even animals, harm. She was always shy when it came to strangers, often hiding behind her father or mother whenever they came around until she got to know them.

At age 4 Naname started showing interest in the way of the Shinobi, at first her parents were hesitant knowing full well the risks a Shinobi takes. But one Naname set her mind on something, it was near impossible to get her to stop. So they eventually relented and started helping her train to be a Ninja. To their surprise she had a natural talent for it, though she was weaker than most, she made up for it in speed and her heightened sense of perception. By age 6 she was quite skilled in Taijutsu and Ninja tools, for her age at least.

At 8 her mother-Miki died of a rare disease, she had been sick for a long time before finally succumbing to it. Soon after Naname entered the Academy. She never really made any friends though, being to shy most people just ignored her, she was the kind that "Faded into the background". She did well in Taijutsu and Ninjutsu but she had no talent for Genjutsu. She failed the first graduation exam because of this so she had to wait another year before being able to take it again, thankfully she passed the 2nd time.

Now shes a happy full-fledged Genin, though shes still fresh from the academy, shes looking forward to her new teammates and the missions to come.

The information can be overwhelming, but I recommend to just pick one village and then try to settle in. :)

Yes, E-ranked are after all Academy techniques. Considering that every fresh genin is just a newly graduated person from the Academy, they are allowed to use E ranked without listing them. :)
So far there are little cannon organizations and no cannon characters at all. There are some who bear some resemblances to the cannon characters, but no character has the same specific history or such.


Jinchurki are present, yes. :)
Konohagakure has currently the Nibi (Kiyomi Sato-Hon) and the Kyuubi, sealed in somebody. But IC wise, nobody other than the higher ups are aware of that.
Kumogakure has the Hacibi (Midori Sato) and the Sanbi. But like the Kyuubi, same old deal. Only the higher ups are aware of who is the host.
Amegakure has the Yonbi and the host is Yoshikuni Sadako.
Kirigakure has the Gobi and Six Tails (forgot the Japanese name something for it! D: ). The Gobi is currently sealed in Suzumori, Haruhi, though that information is limited to a few. The Six tails is however not yet sealed in somebody as the village leader needs to later select a candidate to become a jinchuriki.

Expected posting rates? Well, once in a few days? It largely depends on the team. Often we try to place the fast posters together and those who don't post that fast together, so we that there are no players gritting their teeth cause somebody has less free time than the other to spend on RP'ing. :)

I'll however wait with reviewing your CS. From what I see, I must say that I'm content. Keep up the good work!

The balance between chakra control and reserve is that a starting genin can't start with a good reserve and a good control. There has to be a certain balance to it. After all, every genin is sort of a newly recruit. They may have some decent things, but are largely at the start nothing but cannon fodder (as an example). Same as starting with a medium sized summoning, that isn't allowed for genins.

Perhaps taking a look at the ranking information and at genin might help you out a bit. :)

I also forgot, but Konohagakure is closed at the start to join. Due the other villages needing more vacant places to be filled, one needs to have two characters in another village(s) in order to allowed to join Konohagakure. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok I wasn't sure with the chakra points so I just put both down. I changed her Chakra pool to average, that ok? I also put her in Kirigakure now =)

That is okay. ;)
And the change is good, though I would like to recommend to tune down the skills and traits. A fresh graduated genin are often not that great, though I must add that with some training they grow up to be good. There is the unwritten rule that genins can learn a bit faster than the other ranks (though not learning and mastering a C ranked tech in one go. Hope it is a bit clear what I meant ^^; ), so training with others or by yourself will be both fun as make your character grow, instead of starting strong.

And finally, I think that the OP and rosters are done and in place. Time for a biscuit!

Hahaha, it is no bother chap. If I found it bother to help people, I shouldn't be GM, but that is my opinion and viewpoint. Anyways,

I think that an example would best cut it. The stats are kind of high. I mean, a fresh recruit starting out with good reflexes, agility and what not is over the top. Some experienced characters don't even have good agility. ;)

The best example I can give you of a starting genin would be either Rini Yoto , Shishi Natsu or perhaps Tatsuya Hon. I hope these examples help a bit, as you can see that they all have one or two things that would make them have some starting potential at one field, but are overall considered weak as they aren't both experienced nor trained for some time by a sensei etc. The best thing is to just tune down the pro's and else change them in con's, which means you need to train them. Which is in my opinion awesome to see a character grow up in a story as they start out weak, but work their way up. ^^

Do all new characters start of as Genin's? After the Chūnin exams, or can they be more? Like a Chūnin?

As for clans. Do previous clans except the ones listed there exists? I am just wondering. Does clans like the Senju, Sarutobi, Uchiha, Nara, Uzumaki and others exist? Can you make a character from one of these said clans? If so, can they be like a Nara, who happens to be a shinobi in Kirigakure?

Shes very perceptive when it comes to others, having a natural talent for reading situations and others emotions, even if they try to hide them. She has a vicious stubborn streak when she puts her mind to something, but isnt beyond reason.

History: Nobody really knows where Naname came from, she was found on the doorstep to a orphanage in Kirigakure at only 2 months old. She lived in the orphanage for 4 months before Hisoka and Miki adopted her, since they couldnt have children themselves. She was always a quiet child, never wanting to pick a fight or cause another person, or even animals, harm. She was always shy when it came to strangers, often hiding behind her father or mother whenever they came around until she got to know them.

At age 4 Naname started showing interest in the way of the Shinobi, at first her parents were hesitant knowing full well the risks a Shinobi takes. But one Naname set her mind on something, it was near impossible to get her to stop. So they eventually relented and started helping her train to be a Ninja. To their surprise she had a natural talent for it, though she was weaker than most, she made up for it in speed and her heightened sense of perception. By age 6 she was quite skilled in Taijutsu and Ninja tools, for her age at least.

One day she was sparring with her father, as he went to strike for her torso, she blocked with her hand. That was when Hisoka pulled back with a grimace, his hand bleeding from a deep gash. Confused on how he got the wound, Naname looked to her hand, right in the middle of her palm was what looked like a 3 inch pointed bone. Completely freaked out on what was happening she started crying. Hisoka was confused to, after he got her calmed down her parents started researching what kind of Ninjutsu involved bones. Thats when they found out about Shikotsumyaku. They suspected Naname might be from the Kaguya bloodline, maybe a off-branch of it, but its never been confirmed.

Since then Naname has trained herself relentlessly to control and strengthen her Kekkei Genkai. At 8 she entered the Academy. She never really made any friends though, rumors had spread about her "strange" ability and a lot of the kids feared her, calling her "Skeleton Freak" and so on. She did well in Taijutsu and Ninjutsu but she had no talent for Genjutsu. She failed the first graduation exam because of this so she had to wait another year before being able to take it again, thankfully she passed the 2nd time.

Now shes a happy full-fledged Genin, though shes still fresh from the academy, shes looking forward to her new teammates and the missions to come.
