    Summary

    This role-play is heavily influenced off of The Walking Dead, Edge of Tomorrow, Fallout, and my own mind. There are no zombies, but there are a lot of fucked up people that could be considered worse. The role-play is based in the year 2220 in what is know as The Rebirth. Two hundred years prior there was an event that builds the entirety of this role-play called The Fall. The Fall, in a quick summary, is three years after Russia nukes the Eastern side of the US and US sends their top missiles to Russia, two years after Japan wages war on Great Britain and is annihilated, and one year after USA begins to send troops to Russia. It is the beginning of a one-hundred year war between the US and Russia. There are a few contributors to this war, but they either surrender or flee after the two opposing countries whirl their snarling heads at them (the other countries). The timeline below will explain the events prior to The Fall and following The Fall, until the role-play date is introduced (The Rebirth/NOW). I do not expect anyone to remember these details, but there are some tidbits of key information that puts backbone into this survival/horror/sci-fi/apocalypse role-play. The Drug Enhancement Era begins in 2153 and shows no signs of slowing down sixty-seven years later. There are a total of eighteen drugs that are manufactured daily within different Factions. These Drugs enhance a normal human ability and are very beneficial to survive, but almost all are deadly if used excessively and/or continuously so be warned. This role-play is also set in a more sci-fi/technologically advanced era (it is 2220) so there is a lot of new tech as well as a new set of minds to put this tech into action.     2. I am allowing explicit language, but if you wish to take sexual scenes into the explicit area please do that in PM's. I want to keep this thread as professionally as I can in that sense. Explicit scenes that involve gore or violence is encouraged, except you may want to let us all know in OOC so you don't traumatize someone.
    3. I am Game-Moderator so my words go. If I feel like you are not following rules or are not being respectful/courteous than I have every right to ask you to leave and to announce on here that you are not allowed back.

    All outfits and technology are high-end and can be found lying around anywhere (nobody cares these days). The outfits are much thinner than the pictures below so keep that in mind! Most outfits in this era are not really designed to withstand heavy combat or shots from a weapon. They are solely constructed to look fashionable. Most people add in their own pieces of clothing and flare.

    REPRESENTS THE SENSE
    REPRESENTS THE DRUG NAME
    Sight: This technically is two senses given the two distinct types of receptors present, one for color (cones) and one for brightness (rods). These two sensory's can be enhanced with Piquancy and Lambency. Piquancy can be associated with heat vision (enhancing the reds and blues) as well as seeing UV rays on the UV spectrum. Lambency can be associated with x-ray (cannot actually look into a human body) or night vision (enhancing dark contrast over light or light contrast over dark).
    Taste: This is sometimes argued to be five senses by itself due to the differing types of taste receptors (sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami), but generally is just referred to as one sense. For those who don’t know, umami receptors detect the amino acid glutamate, which is a taste generally found in meat and some artificial flavoring. The taste sense, unlike sight, is a sense based off of a chemical reaction. This sensory can be enhanced with Modicum. Modicum enhances the users ability to taste poisons in their foods or to taste other humans.
    Touch: This has been found to be distinct from pressure, temperature, pain, and even itch sensors.
    Pressure: Obvious sense is obvious. This sensory can be enhanced with Coercion. Coercion enhances the nerves beneath the users skin to be able to detect pressurized wavelengths.
    Itch: Surprisingly, this is a distinct sensor system from other touch-related senses. This sensory can be enhanced with Yen. Yen enhances the users ability to ignore all outside forces that may come in contact with their physical body.
    Thermoception: Ability to sense heat and cold. This also is thought of as more than one sense. This is not just because of the two hot/cold receptors, but also because there is a completely different type of thermoceptor, in terms of the mechanism for detection, in the brain. These thermoceptors in the brain are used for monitoring internal body temperature. This sensory can be enhanced with Temperament I & II. Temperament I & II enhances the nerves making up the users skin to be able to feel a multitude of temperatures (I) or to not feel temperatures at all (II).
    Sound: Detecting vibrations along some medium, such as air or water that is in contact with your ear drums. This sensory can be enhanced with Oscillation. Oscillation enhances the users ability to detect the multitudes of vibrations.
    Smell: Yet another of the sensors that work off of a chemical reaction. This sense combines with taste to produce flavors. This sensory can be enhanced with Redolence. Redolence enhances the sensors in the users nose to give off a stronger chemical reaction.
    Proprioception: This sense gives you the ability to tell where your body parts are, relative to other body parts. This sense is one of the things police officers test when they pull over someone who they think is driving drunk. The “close your eyes and touch your nose” test is testing this sense. This sense is used all the time in little ways, such as when you scratch an itch on your foot, but never once look at your foot to see where your hand is relative to your foot. This sensory can be enhanced with Kinesthesia. Kinesthesia enhances the users nerves throughout the whole body to boost reflexes, instincts, and "gut feelings".
    Tension Sensors: These are found in such places as your muscles and allow the brain the ability to monitor muscle tension. This sensory can be enhances with Collywobble. Collywobble enhances the users muscles to withstand greater forces as well as allow the muscles to relax even when in use.
    Nociception: In a word, pain. This was once thought to simply be the result of overloading other senses, such as “touch”, but this has been found not to be the case and instead, it is its own unique sensory system. There are three distinct types of pain receptors: cutaneous (skin), somatic (bones and joints), and visceral (body organs).This sensory can be enhanced with Perturb I & II. Perturb I & II enhances all pain receptors in the users brain to be able to feel (I) or block out pain (II).
    Equilibrioception: The sense that allows you to keep your balance and sense body movement in terms of acceleration and directional changes. This sense also allows for perceiving gravity. The sensory system for this is found in your inner ears and is called the vestibular labyrinthine system. Anyone who’s ever had this sense go out on them on occasion knows how important this is. When it’s not working or malfunctioning, you literally can’t tell up from down and moving from one location to another without aid is nearly impossible. This sensory can be enhanced with Egalit. Egalit enhances the users sense of balance and directional instincts.
    Stretch Receptors: These are found in such places as the lungs, bladder, stomach, and the gastrointestinal tract. A type of stretch receptor, that senses dilation of blood vessels, is also often involved in headaches. This sensory can be enhanced with Stint. Stint enhances the users ability to heal faster when wounded.
    Chemoreceptors: These trigger an area of the medulla in the brain that is involved in detecting blood born hormones and drugs. It also is involved in the vomiting reflex. This sensory can be enhanced with Peruv. Peruv enhances the users abilities to detect any poisons or illnesses within their bodies directly after they occur.
    Thirst: This system more or less allows your body to monitor its hydration level and so your body knows when it should tell you to drink. This sensory can be enhanced with Enthalpy. Enthalpy eliminates the users need to hydrate continuously. The drug itself is a hydrator.
    Hunger: This system allows your body to detect when you need to eat something. The sensory can be enhanced with Covet. Covet eliminates the users need to take in nutrients and vitamins through food. The drug itself gives nutrients and vitamins.
    Magentoception: This is the ability to detect magnetic fields, which is principally useful in providing a sense of direction when detecting the Earth’s magnetic field. Unlike most birds, humans do not have a strong magentoception, however, experiments have demonstrated that we do tend to have some sense of magnetic fields. The mechanism for this is not completely understood; it is theorized that this has something to do with deposits of ferric iron in our noses. This would make sense if that is correct as humans who are given magnetic implants have been shown to have a much stronger magnetoception than humans without. This sensory can be enhanced with Allur. Allur enhances the users sense of direction. It models the user into their own Global Positioning System.
    Time: This one is debated as no singular mechanism has been found that allows people to perceive time. However, experimental data has conclusively shown humans have a startling accurate sense of time, particularly when younger. The mechanism we use for this seems to be a distributed system involving the cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and basal ganglia. Long term time keeping seems to be monitored by the suprachiasmatic nuclei (responsible for the circadian rhythm). Short term time keeping is handled by other cell systems. This sensory can be enhanced with Epoch. Epoch mainly enhances the users brain and allows them to remember specific times and date stamps. This also aids the user in know what the date by simply looking up at the sun and where it sits.

    Symptoms: Hearing voices, muscles spasms, permanent and/or timed loss of pain receptors in the brain (cannot feel anything), permanent and/or timed super enhancement of pain receptors in the brain (pain is multiplied by a hundred), depression, and suicidal thoughts.
    Egalit
    Symptoms: Headaches, nausea, cannot figure out up from down or right from left, permanent and/or timed loss of balance, general discomfort, and depression.
    Stint
    Symptoms: General discomfort, nausea, paranoia, slows down generic human healing abilities, prickling sensation around the wound, rashes, redness, permanent and/or timed loss of white blood cells, and death.
    Peruv
    Symptoms: General confusion, headaches, nausea, paranoia, permanent and/or timed loss of white blood cells, and death.
    Ethalpy

    *History (quick paragraph): Aidan was once a kid. Was born in Connecticut, in a catholic family from a little survivor group. They lived on scavenging from town to town 'till they got to connecticut and found a little group that was staying there. They decided to set up there, where they could rest. Then, he did 3 things he would be grateful for ever since: the first one was working in a little workshop they had, in where they made gunpowder and bullets. He learnt, as an 8 year boy, lots of things about weapons, bullets, mechanics and helped the craftsman in the making of bullets.
    The second was exploring. His father was in charge of scavenging around the place, and took the boy so he would learn, and hell if he did. He learnt martial arts, how to effectively use weapons, tracking, where, how and when to do things and, more important, how to get out of sticky situations without using any of this.
    The third thing he did was killing his first man. Well, he is not pretty sure, but as this made him a man, he belives it was done as a boy. Soon, te prosperous group became enemies with a much more violent group, and one day things exploded. They were all killed and fucked up, not nessesarely in that order, so he killed a few men before getting away. Maybe other people was alive, but he didn't wanted to know. His parents didn't stand for him, so he wouldn't care either.
    So that's how he became a man.
    As a man he roamed trying to accompany groups of people, became their marksman, craftsman and leader as much as he could, taking all the people he though would be useful for his own group when things started to look bad. Since then, his group has been growing under his leadership as to take 15 people of all ages, but all with various tasks. They call themselves "The Clan" and can be a little autonomous community.

    Appearance: Joe is quite tall with a figure that suggests she constantly keeps herself in shape for the greater good. Her honey-hay locks are usually unkept and loose, cascading in a way that resembles the enclave of a poor bird. Joe's face is lean, yet strong and she's practically mastered the are-you-shitting-me face. At times her expression seems puzzled and this is an indication she's planing thoroughly and you should watch out. Her outfit consists of mostly war memorabilia she's found thrown over her metamorph suit. The suit is relatively thickish, but still very techy and cool.

In all actuality, she only wears a dark green bomber jacket with lots of buttons, patches, and broken medals (seen below), a white tattered shirt beneath the jacket, a war helmet (seen below), tons of belts and strips of cloth (sort of seen under Gear/Tech), a pair of gloves (seen below), loose black pants (seen in third photo) and her famous boots (seen under Gear/Tech). The rest of her outfit is her semi-thick metamorph suit.

    Personality/Personality Traits (open)
    Strengths
    (+) Willful; having or showing a stubborn and determined intention to do as one wants, regardless of the consequences or effects. Jo is known for her smart mouth and thick skull. She isn't afraid to (physically and metaphorically) stand up to someone and argue until her face turns blue. It's hard for her to accept she is wrong in the most dire times.
    (+) Humorous; causing lighthearted laughter and amusement. Jo loves to try and lighten a dark mood by simply throwing out bad jokes or using puns to make her comrades smile. In her mind anything can be fixed with a quick laugh, even if she is lying in a ditch half dead.
    (+) Gut Instincts; the fact or quality of possessing innate behavior patterns. Jo has always had an acute sense when it comes to bad decisions, bad situations, or bad people. Usually, she will listen to her gut no matter what. The few times she hash't have been a complete wake up call for her.
    (+) Empathetic; the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Jo may seem like a tough cookie on the outside, but on the inside, like every human-being, she has feelings and problems. These two factors help her connect to others with similar emotions or issues. She is great at giving advice, but won't open her mouth to distribute some unless asked to. She is aware that some people just need to vent and that is it.
    (+) Strong Silent-Type; used to describe a person who is usually quiet and quite tough. Jo has been through some hard times so she keeps to herself most of the time. Despite everything, she is a very inside type of person, but nonetheless very strong emotionally and mentally. This is probably the reason she connects to people so well and harbors a deep set of instincts to the environment and it's people.


    Weaknesses
    (-) Easily Embarrassed; intense discomfort with oneself, experienced upon having a socially unacceptable act or condition witnessed by or revealed to others. Jo is known to be picked out from the group because of her silence and this sort of "calling-out-embarassment" makes her red in the face and watery in the eyes. She usually lashes out with anger to protect her pride.
    (-) Open Book; a person or thing that is easily understood or interpreted. When Jo is upset someone can usually tell exactly what is wrong. She feels so strongly that her emotions shine through like the sun. This usually leads to embarrassment and then lashing out.
    (-) Poor Leader; a person in a leadership role that lacks the necessary skill, ability, and overall qualties to effectively lead. Unfortunately, none of the traits Jo portrays add up to an effective leader. She is completely irresponsible when looking after others (even if they are a good friend) and she is known to just rush into battle without a proper plan.
    (-) Deceitful; guilty of or involving lies; deceiving or misleading others. Jo has been screwed over more times than she can count on her hands and feet. She has learned that anything and everything will be used against you in this world and she will not take such treatment anymore. Jo keeps her life to herself as well as any secrets of the world she hinders. Most people can see she is lying though.
    (-) Wrath; an excessive emotion based off of anger that involves a strong, violent, uncomfortable and emotional response to a perceived provocation. When provoked Jo will address the matter in front of whomever she pleases and when provoked continuously she is not afraid to put her foot down, hard, and in your face. Little habits that people do can tickle beneath her skin and this can push her off the deep end as well. This emotion is rarely shown though.

    Skills
    1. Eidetic Memory: an ability to recall images, sounds or objects in memory with high precision for a few minutes without using mnemonics. This is how Jo is easily able to maneuver through cities, towns, or states. Once she has visited a place she is able to visit that exact spot as many times as she wishes.
    2. Jo sometimes moves in a strange way during a journey (dancing) and hums along to the beat of her feet. It's a habit that brightens up her spirits no matter what.
    3. She is magnificent in being stealthy.


    History
    Jo was born to a pair of loving parents, until their Faction was plagued by war and the couple had to harden their shells and take their daughter as far from the Oregonians as possible. The trio travelled all across the country for many years; keeping to themselves, joining others, killing others, and seeing the world as it really was, not how it was behind the safety of their original Faction. When Jo was seven her mother passed away in her sleep. Years later, when she was old enough to understand, her father would admit that mama Betty Mona Anderson was sick with cancer for many years. The realization that anyone could die at any moment hit Jo's father hard and from that moment on he vowed to make his daughter into the warrior he knew she could be.


    From eight years old and up, Jo was like the Karate Kid [though only I know what that is], training everyday until she knew how to disarm a man and then kill him. Her father, Frederick Cain Anderson, pushed his daughter harder than was necessary, but he saw it as the only way she would survive. Looking back now, Jo is grateful for what her father taught her. Most women now have not been shown the ropes by such a high figure head and the rest have not been shown the ropes at all. It's miraculous even when Jo meets another female with the same ideology as herself.
    When Jo was twenty she had to lay her father to rest. Coercion had been the drug that brought him to his death as he dreamt. Jo recalled the many times her father would complain about feeling "numb", but she would never figure out exactly what was wrong with him. She inferred, but without a proper medical diagnosis she simply had to bury him and move on. Congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP), also known as congenital analgesia, is one or more rare conditions in which a person cannot feel (and has never felt) physical pain, which was the disease Frederick began to walk with through life. He was withering away under the sun, it was only a matter of time. After the funeral Jo began to live a lot and trust a little. Currently, she does not reside in a Faction and is pretty apprehensive in making friends with any.

    Friends: Jo once ran into a German Shepherd named Geoffrey along her travels, but after about a day he began to show signs of rabies. He attacked her and she shot him.

Her hair is long and usually she wears it down with her natural wavy curls. When she isn't in her combat uniform she prefers jeans and a grey cardigan over a white tank top. Carly has long legs and is quite tall for a girl (5'8'). She's got a petite build, but not to underestimate her strength compared to her build. [​IMG]

    Uses the machine gun carries pistols and extra ammo. Has a necklace, a bronze heart with the initials CS , people believe that it is Carly's initials but really it's her little sisters, but she prefers not to correct anyone, Carly cannot bare the memories. She never takes the necklace off.
    *Personality/*Personality Traits: Carly is very hot headed and smalls things that really don't matter set her off. She overreacts a lot to certain situations, she seems like your typical snobby bitch, but honestly she's just been crafted by the horrifying events that are occurring. She is also very flirtatious, she finds it the best way to get the things she wants.

    Determined on finishing a mission no matter the risks.

    *Skills: Using guns, good with aim, and fast at reloading her weapons.
    *History (quick paragraph): Carly was born in Colorado along with her little sister, her family lived there for as long as she could remember. Carly could always remember the struggle her parents would be in trying to even feed the family. Her mother was always home alone with them, her father a drunkard and abuser. Carly swore to him that she would never love him, not for a minute. One night her father was so drunk, he almost came close to beating Carly's mother to death. That was the night she got fed up, she climbed on his back and started to claw at his face, choke him everything she could to get him off her mother, Carly waited til her father passed out to drag him outside, they never saw him since. A few months later Carly's mother died leaving her to care after her little sister Cassandra. Unknown to Carly, her little sister left out of the house one night and came back ill, someone had drugged her, Carly promised to her sister on her death bed that she would stay alive for Cassandra, she would survive this nightmare and one day avenge Cassandra, and to this day her promise still stays with her.

  10. Wasn't sure if I could hold a spot on this page or the interest check... anyway, I'd love to join. A lot of the rp's I've been in have kinda... fizzled and died like old rootbeer. I don't usually do group horror, but there's a first time for everything.
