Distani told Tor that yes it was the truth, then her father and her mother arrived. She cowered to the ground when Denali asked her why she was here with Holland. "I was..." She didn't say what exactly she was doing there and Veran jumped in to speak. Veran ignored what she had told him earlier. She glared at him then ran up to her dad, purring along his leg, then ran between her mothers legs. "Mom." She nipped at her. Lavallia ignored her. "MOM!" She said again biting a little harder." Lavallia looked down. "Yes? What are you doing here anyway?" Distani looked down. Then back to her mother. "Holland and I were playing, we ran a little too far and scared on of the zebras. He ran out into the outlands, and a lion out there got him. Veran thinks he killed him in the pride lands." She glanced up at her mother, praying she would believe her. Her mother looked down at her. Was she telling the truth. No, her daughters tail was twitching back and forth. As it had always done when she tried to lie. But why would she lie for an outsider? It didn't make sense. "Denali, I'm going to take Distani back to pride rock okay? I'll leave you to this." She picked her daughter up in her mouth and turned away."
~
Niluna smiled to Afia as she spoke. "I can't seem to find any of the other cubs at the moment. Perhaps you would like to dine on the rest of this with me?" She looked down at it. "Too much longer and the gazelle will have gone bad and unable to be eaten anyway. No sense in wasting it. Perhaps you are right too. Would you like to join me on my next hunt? The meat may last longer if we do it that way."

Holland watched as Lavallia picked Distani up with her mouth and start to transport her back to pride rock, while he still stood next to Denali, Veran, and Tor. He knew that Veran didn't believe a single word he and Distani had told them. He also knew Denali wanted answers and would get them one way or the other if he had to. Holland, through his own terms, didn't know how to explain it though. Holland glanced over to the border of the outlands and was deep in thought about the situation as he kept looking at it. He understood Chimalsi's predicament as it was, the way Chimalsi was fighting through near starvation and doing whatever it took to survive, Holland himself, due to being an orphan for about 3/4's of a year now, also doing what he found to be necessary each and every day in order to survive to the next as well, even if chances for living and survival were better in the pridelands. Plus, Holland had promised Distani earlier that he wouldn't say anything about it.

Denali watched his daughter as she rubbed against his arm then ran to her mother. He nodded to Lavallia when she said they were going back then gave a quick and pointed look to the cub in her mouth. "We'll have to talk about this later." He looked back to Holland. "You need to go back as well, it's dangerous here. Run along now." He pushed the cub in the direction that Distani and her mother had left in with his paw. Once again his attention shifted to the hyena. "I patrolled here earlier and saw nothing, but if you smell a kill then I have to believe that someone came across the border in order to hunt. They must be gone now so there is little point in crossing into their territory but to make a scene."

He shook his head. "Things are not fair, yet we cannot banish them and continue to look over their every move. If any of us were to go over there now it would only cause more problems. We will have to let this one go. We can only persecute what we see for ourselves. Let's scout the border and if you see him nearby inform him of the rules again." Denali started back in the opposite direction of Tor and Veran.

Afia smiled at Niluna's offer. It was surprising that there were so few cubs had come to take her kill. "That's odd that the cubs are not coming..." Her ears lowered against her head at a gruesome thought. She shook the thoughts from her mind. "Sure, I'll help you eat it then. I also would not mind coming along with you on the next hunt. We shouldn't even have to go way out there anyhow. The pridelands are right over there..." Her complaining turned into mumbling as she walked back to the gazelle.

Holland heads back to pride rock as Denali directed him to do. He passes by the area where Lavallia and Distani are once he gets back, gives a look to Distani as he's walking by to tell her that he didn't say anything to her dad after she had left with Lavallia, and then continues on just a little more before settling at a tree in the pride rock area, nearby Distani and her mother's location, but not so near to where it would distract Distani.

In the outlands, Spencer is standing near Niluna and Afia, also wondering why the other cubs hadn't come there yet. He thinks it to be very odd as well and wonders if he should go and look for them. He also wonders if there is another area where there are animals small enough to where he could catch them for the rest of the cubs, if perhaps something was preventing them from getting there for the time being.

Ajura was still chasing grasshoppers when she saw the Queen, Distani and Holland arrive. She held a squirming grasshopper in her mouth as she surveyed the three of them. She decided not to approach Distani as it seemed as though the Queen was going to talk to her, so she instead continued on with her hunt for more grasshoppers.

Tor nodded in agreement, giving Veran a friendly lick before turning to patrol further down the border to where the prey usually grazed. It was good to see where the prey was situated, so as to avoid something like that happening again. He held no doubt in his mind that the herds would stay in their lands, as there was plenty of grass and water, but he wanted to make sure.

Lavallia walked into the den up in pride rock. She placed Distani on the ground who tried to scoot away, but was stopped by her mothers paw. "Now we have to talk about what just happened and you know it." Distani looked to her mother and tucked her tail between her legs. "Mother, I seen the lion with my own two eyes. He didn't do anything wrong." Lavallia licked the top of Distani's head. "A queen doesn't lie my dear. It's a nasty habit to start even if you think you are helping somebody with it. Now, I don't know what your father is going to say about this, because it is very wrong and he knows you lied as well. But I am certain he will have words with you. My personal punishment is you are not allowed to leave Pride Rock for the rest of the day, and until further notice you will not leave Pride Rock with out an escort. I am very disappointed in you Distani." Lavallia looked sternly at her daughter. "Now go lay down until your father arrives. I will be waiting right outside." Distani went and curled up in the spot she normally slept in, and Lavallia turned and exited the den. Walking to the edge of Pride Rock to watch for Denali. Keeping an eye on the entrance of the den as well.
~
Lavallia nodded. "I know the pride lands are a good place to hunt, but they know us, they know our scents here, it would be more dangerous than hunting in other prides territories." She bit from the gazelle still watching for more cubs to come out.

Deciding to forgive Distani for her earlier dismissal of her, Ajura dashed towards where Lavallia was standing and where she saw Distani go into. "Auntie Lavallia, can Distani come out and play? I found a grasshopper mound and there are soo many!" She chattered excitedly, her tail flicking this way and that.

Chimalsi finally reached the border and dragged the zebra back into the outlands. He moved it over to his den and began to eat it quickly incase anyone tried to steal it form him.

Lavallia turned to her niece. "I'm sorry Ajura. Distani is not able to play today." She turned back to look at the entrance of the den, then out to the pride lands. She remembered then, about the surprise Ajura had given her earlier in the day. She looked to Ajura. "You didn't happen to find Distani earlier when you were playing did you? She told me quite a tale. Did you see it? I want the truth. I already know it, so if you know anything you may as well just tell me. Because I will know if you lie about it." Lavallia decided to use a trick that her mother used to use on her to get her to tell the truth. Which really she did know that there was a lie about what Distani said, but maybe she could find out what actually happened. She looked around. Where was Holland? Denali had told him to follow them back to Pride Rock. Maybe she could get the truth out of him.

Denali paced near the border a few times, finding only a few traces of a chase. He glared toward the outlands but his expression quickly softened. It was for their own good. There was no other choice... He turned from the view and started back to the pride's dwellings. His mind was racing though his outward appearance was only somewhat melancholy. He stopped once but didn't look back- he couldn't look back- then kept walking. Denali prepared for the talk he would have to do with Distani. It wasn't going to be easy, he did not like being upset with her. Her cuteness always made it difficult for him to punish her too.

He walked up a slope-like structure of rock to where their caves were located. Denali stopped when he saw Lavallia sitting with Ajura. At first he wanted to interrupt, but decided not to. He nodded to the queen, however, to let her know he had returned then went into the caves. He took a deep breath when he saw Distani lying alone inside. "Distani." He walked up behind her and sat down to nudge her with his nose. "I'm sure this probably isn't a good time, but we need to talk." Denali sat up and waited for her to respond to his gentle prodding.

Distani had heard someone enter the den. But she didn't bother to look who it was. She didn't want to talk to anyone right now. So she just remained laying down with her back to whoever happened to enter. The her father spoke to her. And she knew she couldn't just ignore him. So she sat up and turned to him. "Daddy." Was all she said and it was so low and soft that it was almost inaudible. She looked down at the ground knowing he would have words to say with her too. She lowered her ears to her head and forced her eyes to meet his.

" Dont worry about it veran...forget about it veran....just guard the outlands veran.." he spoke to himself shaking his head as the leader to no action towards the killing of a pridelander, what kind of person just lets that slip away. He let a low growl go " If i was in charge...oh boy how would this play change...nobody would be separated...everyone living together..in peace...harmony...natural selection..yes " he nodded his head " some would die but the strong would survive...thats how it would be " his dark past slipping through him as his fur at the back of his neck began to stand up his teeth baring " And to think that i am a runt to the others, a mere guard dog " he shook his head " everybody is just acting like they like me...i know they dont trust me...dont trust me being here since i came from the outlands..." he came back down to his original self and stopped patrolling the border he just sat there his eyes closed and his head down.

Vivi ran from the pride giggling. She loved causing trouble on occasion. She was a wandering hyena, and had been so since she was young. At least her belly was full. She managed to escape the pride after a while, and spent days searching for a new pride to cause a little mayhem with. She eventually came across a bunch of lonely lions on the outskirts of what seemed to be a paradise. One lioness walked up to her, ears down sniffing her. "You better avoid the pride lands. Denali doesn't take too kindly to strangers." The lioness said before she turned away. Niluna was honestly shocked to see a hyena. The only hyena around these parts was Veran. The pride hyena. But Vivi ignored the lioness's warning and crossed the boundary into the pride lands. Hmm. She thought for a moment, wondering how she could play and entertain herself. Maybe she would cause a stampede. She looked around for the nearest herd she could bother, but something caught in her nostrils. Another hyena? Near a pride of lions? Impossible. She began to follow the scent. This she had to see for herself.

Sitting there he focused until he smelt a scent very peculiar, his head snapping up he looked around " Another hyena? no..no..." he shook his head standing on his fours and sniffed again " this cannot be.." he began to followed the scent his speed increasing as he came closer and closer to the scent. " Im the only hyena....that i know of... " he picked up speed, he didnt know whether to feel happy or angry, he didn't like the fact that someone would just wonder into the pridelands but its his kin. He then saw something moving in the distance were the scent was coming from, he dipped and dodge behind some zebras and hid in a brush underneath a tree watching the shape move at a pace. head held so that it could sniff the air for a scent...was it the hyena?

Ajura let out a little whimper, her ears flattening. She didn't want Distani to be mad at her for tattling, but she knew she wasn't supposed to lie to her auntie either! "Uh--um..."She began, glancing around and scuffing the dirt with her paw. "Uhh...." She staretd again trying to get the words out. "There was a weird lion in the pridelands and he was looking at a bunch of zebra and then he ran after them...But then Distani told me to go away and not to tell!" She said, the words tumbling out of her mouth. "Please don't tell her I tattled." She pleaded, her voice quivering.

Vivi could smell him. He was close but where. His scent was strong. She stopped and looked around. Zebra's, bushes. The scent it was strong. Was it the scent of a male? Yes it was. She could tell that. She lowered her head to the ground and caught sight of the young male behind a bush, but she pretended not to notice it. She instead smirked slightly and lifted her head. Calling out into the air. "You may as well come out, I am sure you have caught my scent and I am aware you are near. I wont harm you I promise."

Lavallia looked down to Ajura. "I wont tell dear. In fact you go tell your mother that auntie Lavallia said you deserve a big treat. Thank you for telling the truth. That was good." She nudged Ajura. "If you want you could be a big helper for me and find Holland. I need to speak with him as well. Thank you for being honest. Lying is not okay. I'm glad you know that. Distani is already learning that lesson, she will play with you tomorrow I promise."

He should of known better than to hide in a bush, maybe he should of taken a dip in the water and dropped his scent before doing such a thing. He walked out the bush and shook his head moving the tuft of fur from the middle of his head to one side covering his eye. He was a larger hyena and it was not normal for him as a male but he took what he could get, since growing up with lions altered a bit of his normal statistics. He walked right up to her yet to speak and once he made it face to face with her he spoke " Why are you here? were did you come from? the lions here do not take kind to other hyenas "

"I am here, because I am passing through. I have been alone all my life and been wandering. I was merely here to find a way to entertain myself really. But I may choose to stay. I've not met another hyena before. Never heard of one living with lions. I would like to get to know you. I would be happy to stay outside of the border if perhaps I could have the chance to get to know you. I don't know how long I will stay, but it would prove interesting. Another hyena to talk to. Perhaps you could tell me how you got in with this group of lions. The ones on the other side of the border, they warned me that the lions wouldn't like me, but they didn't tell me about you." She smiled and approached him slowly, adjusting herself so her side was exposed to him, letting him know she was no threat, as she moved to take a good smell of him.

She sounded like him to much like him, that it seemed to scare him a bit. As she rounded to smell him he stepped away still looking at her being on the defensive, " You can stay with me...in my small den " he sighed " i will introduce you to my family...but if you show a single sign...of..of disrespect...or the urge to kill...i will put you down..you may be my species...but..." he shook his head snapping back into his normal self " I am sorry.. " he walked by her heading towards the main pride " come on...and stay close the rhinos might try and pick you off " she didn't seem like a threat and definitely couldn't be one to him. and mating season was soon to come....he needed to pass on his bloodline. he thought to himself before shaking his head again of the thoughts which riddled his mind of her.
