Beacon Hills. A small town, a town with mysteries everywhere - and Kat's new home. Or her old one, if that's how you wanted to look at it. She hadn't been back in close to a decade, and to say that things had changed a lot would be an understatement. Yet, it was somehow all familiar to her at the same time - like an old friend. Though she'd loved her time in London, she had missed it here. There was something about it that she couldn't quite put her finger on - something magical. Being here was like breathing crisp, fresh air for the first time in years. Though that might just be the fact that she was breathing crisp, fresh air for the first time in years.

Kat stood in the middle of the woods, a ten minute walk from her car. There was no civilization within eyesight; No bustling traffic, no skyscrapers, no incessant noise. There was only the soft rustling of the trees as the breeze rolled through, and the twittering of nearby birds. Her parents had never let her come to these woods as a kid - something about the Hales being the reason. But the last she'd heard, the Hales were gone, her mother was in London, and her father, well... Her father had lost the right to tell her what to do years ago. She took a deep breath, letting her eyes flutter shut as she simply enjoyed the air. It was a welcome distraction from having to deal with her father. Even if a part of her looked forward to seeing Drew again, she needed to get away from things for a bit before she headed back to Beacon Hills High for the first time since she'd left. This seemed like the perfect way to do so.

She took one last look around her, taking in the sights of the trees; the deep greens of the leaves and the faint mist that still clung to the air at this time of the morning. She wondered if something like this would be a good post for her blog. Fishing her phone from her jacket pocket, she took a quick photo of the forest.

For the first time in a long time, Stiles felt pretty alright. Positive, even. There hadn't been any supernatural craziness for more than a week now, and it gave Stiles hope that maybe he wouldn't be fearing for his life again anytime soon - at least for a little while. Knowing Beacon Hills, that probably wouldn't last forever - but a guy could hope, you know? There was nothing wrong with a little optimism every now and then. Smiling, Stiles drove along the familiar route to Drew's house, tapping his hands against the steering wheel to the beat of the song blaring from his radio. His drives with Drew were one of his favourite parts of his day; He hadn't been able to spend much one-on-one time with her since everything with Scott and the werewolves had started, and he found himself missing her most days. These drives were the one exception to that, so he always looked forward to it.

As he pulled up to her house, he pulled out his phone and sent off a quick I'm Here text to her. When she finally came outside, a wide grin broke across his face at the sight of her. This was one of his best friends, and someone who he couldn't help but want to see nearly every day. "Hey, Drew," he said as she climbed into his passenger seat. "How about we take the long way today?"

Barely waiting for her answer, Stiles put his foot on the accelerator and barreled ahead, taking the detour that took them past the woods. Anything that gave him a little more time with Drew. As the road twisted and curved around the trees, Stiles spotted a small, white car that he didn't recognize parked on the side of the road. He slowed a little, squinting as he tried to figure out if he recognized it. He couldn't seem to place it; It definitely didn't belong to anyone he knew, and it definitely didn't belong to someone in either pack.

"Hey, whose car is that?" He asked Drew, glancing at her. "Derek's gonna be pissed if someone's just wondering around here."
