It's 3 am. An official phone alert wakes you up. It says "Do not look at the moon." You have hundreds of notifications. Hundreds of random numbers are sending "It's a beautiful night tonight. Look outside."

Those who look at the moon that night become one of the moon-touched, people forever stuck in a perpetual daydream
- forever washing the dishes, forever walking the dog that doesn't exist, forever talking about how beautiful the moon was that evening

The Moon-Touched

People who looked up at the moon and saw something else. It's as if they're stuck in a perpetual fever-dream - forever washing the dishes, forever walking the dog that doesn't exist, and forever talking about how beautiful the moon was that evening. There are three known phases.
1. The Fever-dream: when they're up and about, stuck in an endless routine and still talking about the moon
2. The Flowering: when flowers take root in their lungs and they start to cough up petals and soil
3. The Transmogrification: when their skins turns into brittle bark and when they slowly start turning into trees
Phase 3 seems to take place after the moon-touched have completely lost their grip on reality. Throughout phase 1 and 2 it is still possible to have moments of lucidity, though health officials reported it was rather rare. Most of the time, the moon-touched would carry on with a routine familiar to them.
Setting & Characters

Glenwood, a city with a population of roughly 450,000 people. Despite being rather urban, the city is bordered by woodland.
A day after the sky turned green, the country declared a state of emergency and cities went on lock down. You will be playing one of the people in Glenwood. They don't have to be a permanent resident, but they do have to be in the city for whatever reason when it goes on lock down the following morning. Character sheets will be posted in the next day or two alongside the link to the official discord group.

Rules and Expectations

Be willing to take part in brainstorming. We need active players, no wallflowers allowed
At least 2-3 paragraphs per post, more is always welcome
We're still going to vote on a posting schedule, but ideally, someone who can post at least once every three days

Hey all, thanks for the interest. As for character concepts: I'm going to play an obnoxious, spoiled rich jock who got into college because his dad's got a lotta sway with the Board. Something like that. You know the type. There's no "preset" though, you're pretty much free to make whoever you want regardless of age or status in (or out of) the Glenwood community.

Hm, phases, huh? I wonder...I'll ask in the discord! As for character, not sure, but someone who loves their beloved moon but can no longer look in fear of being tainted...I want to write that somehow. Hm, what kind of character...?
