Connor looked at the other Connor, the one that would more than likely be trying to kill him in the future. It would be so easy to end it right now. With these new abilities, there wasn't anyone that could kill him. But... he was following the Assassin way now, completely in his guise as Desmond Miles. He was using the second tenet of the Creed against the Brotherhood. Hide in plain sight. This was how he would make peace. He was a child of both worlds, and understood more about each side from their contrast with the other.

But, as often happened, he was getting lost in his own mind. Time to answer the boy's question. "I'm not a friend, but we're not enemies. Not anymore." Not yet.

@Mighty Roman
'What's that supposed to mean? You mean that you're not going to try to kill us?' said John, giving the Assassin a quizzical look. The Terminator remained motionless. 'This mission is not at an end. John Connor must be returned to 1982 to play his part in human history and one day lead the human resistance. We must exit this place. Find a cure for this sickness, and avoid all threats. I must protect John Connor.'

"Niá:wen. I do not think I would have figured that out on my own." Connor said to the T-800, perhaps a little smartly. He flicked his tomahawk lithely, cleaning it of blood in a fell swing, coincidentally sending most of it in House's direction. Then he idly let it slide down in his grasp before tucking it into its special holster on the upper leggings of his jeans.

"I was brought back by a means unknown to me." Connor lied, all too familiar with the practice from his years of dealing with the most cunning Templas in history. He was naive, but not untalented. "I was torn apart, then suddenly found myself inside the portal with strange powers awoken within me. Then..." Connor waved at the hellhounds, one still struggling futilely in Cameron's iron grip. "Those."

As he raised his hood again for the first time since his scheduling for execution, he spoke to the other Connor of the group. "You're going to grow to be a very dangerous man with a lot of power. Has anyone ever told you that?"

Then when the moment of the fight had completely faded his conversation with John was forgotten. Something much more pressing was on his mind. Something a silent promise was being broken by his inattention. His extremely false calm evaporated as quickly as he had donned it.
"RILEY." He yelled. "RILEY!"

After being thrown through the portal, the Rookie took into a combat roll, readying his SMG and aiming quick, short bursts of fire from the weapon into the dogs that approached, aiming either for their heads or legs

"Fouling is a crime, punishable by fines of up to $500!"
mUC2QYJ.png

The male stood slowly, surveying the group slowly, before noting how beneath Sarah's flesh there seemed to be some form of metal skeleton

Beneath the mask there was a small noise, as if a stifled gasp of shock, before he caught himself, coughing once more
A gloved hand extended and a small display appeared, that he tapped a few times, a small probe popping out of the side of his helmet, scanning her form for a moment, showing that she was almost entirely machine

"Hmmm"

Quite the statement from Rookie, honestly, don't expect much more than that in the future

He turns slowly, searching for any more threats, before allowing his eyes to look over the scanned image of her endoskeleton for a moment
It was fascinating, the metal composition was beyond anything he'd seen used for robotic work, it must have cost a fortune, and the power source, fully harnessed nuclear fusion, or fission, whichever it was, in such a small core...
She was a piece of work, he was just shocked how real the skin and behaviour was...

Such sophisticated AI, it was perhaps on par with an AI like Cortana, made by scanning a real human brain, maybe even better, perhaps this AI wouldn't go rampant?

[BCOLOR=transparent]Now that the foes were all defeated, the group would probably assume that the dilapidated world around them would soon be fading into something new.. But, several minutes went by. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]After a while, a scratched up Katniss looked over the group warily, before simply frowning. The boy beside her shared a similar look of dismay, crossing his arms with eyebrows furrowed in thought. “This isn’t right. Something’s missing,” he declared, looking less than happy with the situation. Katniss nodded her agreement, sheathing her bow hesitantly, but clearly staying alert. “You’re right. And I know just what it is,” the Mockingjay stated, crouching down and delicately brushing her hand over the ground. With how intently focused she was, it was almost like she was tracking something.. But that wasn’t possible, was it?[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Well, to anyone that thought that, they would be quickly proven wrong. The young woman got to her feet, looking around with concentration.. Before she seemed to affirm she found what she was looking for, and pointed it out to the others. It didn’t seem like anything, at first glance, but hey.. Maybe this was one of those things that were more than they seemed. “There. That’s the portal we need,” she told the group with clear confidence. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]For the sake of the group? Hopefully she wasn’t wrong. So when the girl confidently strode right up to the location she’d told them to go to, and seemed to vanish right through it? It was probably a relief to the group. And when they followed behind her, they’d find themselves faced with…- Well, something really unexpected, to say the least. They now stood in what seemed like the outside of an interrogation room, when it came to the odd glass wall in front of them looking into a room where two people- a male and female -resided. Upon closer look, a few things rung familiar; the room was that in which the group had seen many killed in. Where those voted out were sent and slaughtered.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]

[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]And, what do you know.. A certain blonde with hot pink stripes in her hair was within the room. No surprise there, right?[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Of course.. There [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]was[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] a different surprise there: Rather than being sat in the middle of the room, bound to a chair with vicious creatures coming after her.. The girl was perfectly fine. Or, well… In one sense, anyways. There was definitely something different about her, now, though. The easygoing, kind facade she’d held before in order to gain allies had completely vanished. Now, when one were to look at the blonde, all they’d see was a broken shell of a girl, overwhelmed by nothing but anger, pain, and spite, somehow provoked by the man whom resided in the room with her.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“-You pathetic, low-life, disgusting little bastard!” she exclaimed, accentuating every word with a harsh slap to the male in front of her’s face. In contrast to Ridley’s clear rage, the man just chuckled, as though the harsh slaps were nothing but an annoyance, similarly to a fly buzzing around one’s head. He grabbed Rid’s wrist hard, squeezing it tightly to a point where it seemed like it could break at any second. “You know, ‘mad’ is a good look on--”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Before the man could finish the statement, Rid’s other hand clenched into a tight fist, raising up and hitting the dark-haired male square in the jaw, resulting in a large ‘crack!’, as well as the male dropping his grip on her and falling to the ground from the force. Before he had time to recover, the blonde grabbed him by the collar, lifting him up and slamming him against the wall so hard that it cracked the drywall slightly. Now, in this position, the man’s face was in clear sight for the group:[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent] [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]
30c0fd483b.jpg
[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Elliot.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]The one difference was.. The man was clearly beaten up. His jaw seemed almost as though dislocated by the punch(and was bleeding a good bit), he had red marks on his face from the multiple slaps he’d received, his clothes were a little torn up, and a good number of bruises littered his body. Ridley wasn’t looking like she was holding up the best, herself, but she didn’t let that stop her. Instead, she smiled sickly at Elliot, looking at him distantly. “Ha, ha.. How’s it feel, you disgusting little SOB? How’s it feel..” she accentuated this by rather suddenly gripping Elliot’s arm and twisting harshly, holding him up with her other arm. “..being the one on.. on…-” Ridley’s words were briefly cut short, due to a bit of blood filling her mouth that she promptly spit out. “..the other side of the torture?”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]This earned a rather small, smug grin from Elliot through the pain of his dislocated jaw and arm that was twisted to a point of being about to snap. “Oh, come now. You [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]had[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] to have loved the torture. I personally saw to that,” he remarked sarcastically, earning a scowl from Ridley, who now found it to be the right time to snap the man’s arm. The action earned a strangled cry, that quickly turned to a pained laugh. “I think you’ll find that you’re much easier to break than I,” he taunted, earning the exact reaction he wanted; further rage from Ridley. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Blind[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] rage. Something that could easily be taken advantage of. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]While Ridley reared up for another punch, Elliot decided this was good enough opportunity. After all, with how angry she was, the Siren wasn’t exactly thinking clear enough to predict Elliot retaliating. She didn’t know she needed her defenses up, so when the man conjured a small dagger and plunged it deep into her abdomen right as her fist was about to collide with his nose.. Ridley could only really gawk.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Oops!” Elliot exclaimed, donning a mockingly apologetic look. “My hand seems to have slipped.. Have a [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]grand[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] time in Hell~” Elliot chimed almost cheerfully as realization of what had just happened slowly dawned upon Ridley. The blonde looked at him with wide golden eyes filled with something between horror, disappointment, intense hate and.. Relief? Slowly, her crushing grip on him fell away, and she sank to her knees on the floor.. Before speaking her final words through a mouth flooding with blood.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“I’ll.. See you.. There, bastard…”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]And, just like that, Ridley bled out on the floor. Unluckily for the group, Elliot- albeit obviously extremely banged up and struggling with holding together -was still standing. He soon seemed to become aware of the little crowd that had been watching the scene, and frowned deeply. He didn’t have time for this… Wasn’t in any condition to be taking on a large group of people. Not to mention, they were all supposed to be [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]dead[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]. It looked like these traitors just weren’t as reliable as his last.. But, it was of no matter: the fact was, he needed to get out of there.. Fast.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“I’d absolutely love to stay and chat with you all, but I really must be going,” the man stated in the direction of the group, offering a less than pleasant wave. “Toodles~” he chimed, snapping his fingers of his good hand. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]This alarmed Katniss, and she immediately tried searching for a way into the room.. But by the time she found one, the man had vanished without a trace. “Damn!” the brunette exclaimed in frustration, slamming a fist against the wall. [/BCOLOR]

[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]The young boy looked slightly less shaken up, and shrugged dismissively. “He got away again.. So what?” he inquired, as though this weren’t a big deal. This seemed to infuriate Katniss, who now whirled on heel to confront him. “Don’t you get it? He killed my family! Peeta, our children.. Gone,” she explained, looking as though on the verge of tears. Clearly, this was a painful subject for the brunette.. Which caused the boy’s features to soften, and he patted her shoulder awkwardly in attempt at reassurance. But, the girl shrugged him off, straightening up again before turning to address the group.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“You all.. Probably want some answers, don’t you?” she mused, dejectedly brushing a few locks of dark hair out of her face. “As you’ve probably all seen, the universe is falling apart at the very seams; ripped apart by the tampering of that man.. Elliot,” she started, looking very put off. “Not only did he upset the balance that held it together, but he’s released The Sickness into countless worlds,” the male at her side added.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Look.. The point is, Elliot needs to be stopped. He’s killed so many, and he isn’t about to stop any damn time soon. The Rebels have managed to start mending a few of the tears, but our affairs will be pointless if we don’t finish Elliot once and for all. Every second we waste here? Lives are being destroyed. We can’t take him alone, so..-” before Katniss could finish, the boy stepped up again. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“So if you’re the faint of heart, feel free to get out of here. We should be able to briefly stabilize a few portals. Going through the tears is.. Okay, but there’s no saying where you’ll end up,” he admitted, shoving his hands into his pockets. “..If you’re brave enough, we need all the help we can get out on the field if we’re ever going to stop that psychopath.”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Well.. Now that the pair seemed to have finished up their explaining, it looked like the group had a few options; [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]they could take a portal home, travel through a random tear, or join Katniss and the rebellion[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]. There was no telling what the options would bring, but they were worth taking a chance.[/BCOLOR]

Epilogue: Days of Future Past

John looked away as Ridley was killed. He couldn't bear to see anyone else die today. He thought about his decision, until his Cyberdyne Guardian made it for him. 'John Connor has too much of an essential role in pre-established history to stay here and assist with your resistance.'
'But maybe I don't have to go back! There's no fate but what-'
'We make for ourselves. John Connor is too important to established history. Staying here could destroy the future, and let Skynet crush the human resistance'
'Yeah...yeah.'

He looked at his assembled allies. He smiled at Cameron and her hooded companion. 'I'm sure we'll see each other again someday. I'm lookin' forward to it.'
The T-800 merely scowled. The two walked towards the stable portal home. 'Hasta la vista, baby.'
--------------
2027 AD

image_medium.jpg

A lone Terminator stalked the plains. Human skulls broke like eggshells as it crossed the ruined city once known as New York. It scanned the area, moving its head left and right, firing arcs of energy into the distance, towards any sign of human insurgency. The air was quiet. Until numerous energy shots blasted back at it. The Terminator span around, the blasts deflecting off of its' metal shell. It scanned.
Kyle Reese.
John Connor.
The resistance was here.
'Kyle, get ahead, see if there are any survivors left, I'll deal with the tin can!'
john_connor__s_thoughts_by_goldfield88-d33yi3q.jpg

John Connor was older now. Scars lined his face, his hair swept back and ragged, his face coated with mud. He moved almost mechanically, firing and dodging, before he prepared to toss one final grenade which would send the machine back to whichever hell it had crawled out of, until something strange happened.

The metal frame of The Terminator began to turn green, like marble, it then began to crack, and the light from its eyes faded. It collapsed into the mud, the only sound left being the pitter-patter of rain emanating from its metal frame.
John crouched down, slowly reaching out towards it.

'John! There are 33 human survivors up there. John? You okay?'
It took a while for John to respond. Reese waited patiently. He was a good soldier. Perhaps, in another world, he'd be a good father.
GENISYS-Kyle-Reese.jpg

'Kyle, take a look at this.'
Reese knelt down, gun still clutched in his hand.
''S another dead machine. What difference does it make?'
'Kyle....this Terminator died of a disease. A sickness. A metamorphose of the material its' made from, melting it, changing it from the inside out.'
'Damn.... Kyle cursed, then wiped some of the mud and rain from his face. 'We gotts take this to Kate, take it to the Medbay, find out how this thing works!' He said smiling. 'A disease that kills Terminators....'
'I don't think that you get it Kyle. What will this do to us?'
Ad then the world went white.
-----------------------------------
1982 AD
John Connor and the T-800 returned to John's home time. The sun was shining, the birds where singing. All seemed tranquil and calm.

'C'mon, let's go, we gotta find Mom-'
'I cannot.'
The T-800 stood there motionlessly. If John didn't know better, he'd have thought that it had sound....scared.
'Why not?'
'This unit is corrupted.'
'How?'
'The Metamorphose Sickness has entered my systems. It will spread, infecting all life.'
'Do I have it?'
'No. The virus will have spread already, but it is airborne. However, there is one way to terminate the virus-carrier....'
John took a moment to understand what The T-800 was suggesting, but as it dawned on him, tears began to stream down his face.
'No....nono...I order you not to do it.'
'I cannot. It will not let me. I was programmed to protct you, John Connor. And now I am a risk. To you. To the future. My vital systems....are failing. The virus is entering its second stage. Do it...quickly.'
John hugged the T-800, for what felt like an eternity. He threw his helmet on the ground, and took the Terminator's rifle. He stepped back, tears blurring his vision. He span it to load, the way that 'Uncle Bob' always did.
1369441968-90ff032a2fa5dc21487fb9618977c803.jpeg

'I'm sorry.'
He fired.

There was no Fate but what he made. But what he had seen on his journey had changed him. And would change the future too. But this disease, this airborne sickness, wold change it even more....and what would happen next?!

Isara finally sighed, the chaos had passed. She said to Riley. "It's done." she held out her hand, and in her hand... Was a doll. Isara smiled at the girl. "Take it to remember Welkin, Alicia, and me by, because I probably won't see you again." she also handed her a picture:

valkyria-chronicles-3_24.jpg

"Good bye, Riley." Isara shed a tear, and stood up. "You're a brave girl."

@Klutzy Ninja Kitty

Alicia looked at Joseph. She held the Spear and shield. "Nice job, there." she said. "You're an amazing fighter." She had grown fond of Jojo during their brief time together. "I hope we can meet again someday. I'd like to show you Gallia or something." She laughed and straightened her hair. "It's beautiful this time if year." She then kissed him, and gave a salute.

@Verite

Welkin looked around. He gathered several things then took some notes. "I can give you support, miss..." He didn't know Katniss's name. "I can't speak for Isara and Alicia, but I can at least help you. I'm a military commander of Squad 7 of Gallia's Militia, I can help you if you let me." He said to her. He holstered his pistol, and brushed off his uniform.

Selvaria woke up in another lab. A woman looked at her, a bit startled.

16MONKEYS-master180.jpg

A symbol was stenciled on the wall behind her:

12_monkeys.jpg

A bunch of doctors ran around, running between patients, and pushing into each other, it looked like something had gone on. The woman straightened up, and looked at the Valkyrur Witch.
"My name is Dr Railly of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, what do you know of the Metamorphose Sickness?" Railly said a bit panicked. The woman put on her mask.

"Yes, I am aware of it." Selvaria said, condescendingly. "I once worked for Elliot."

Railly seemed even more panicked. "Cole! Cole! Get over here!" She shouted. She backed away from Selvaria, and knocked over an IV stand. The other doctors had to grab her, and pull her up.

Selvaria watched it play out. She began walking towards a door. Outside was a city. She smelled the city air, and began walking. Railly grabbed her shoulder. "I'm coming with you." was all she said.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Epilogue Round: Tying Loose Ends[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Now that the foes were all defeated, the group would probably assume that the dilapidated world around them would soon be fading into something new.. But, several minutes went by. Soon, they turned to what felt like hours. And yet, still, nothing happened; the world remained as close to peaceful as possible, and the familiar ripping sound never came. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]
Katniss-Everdeen-Fan-Art-the-hunger-games-29798531-495-593.png

[BCOLOR=transparent]
bf230a5189.jpg

[BCOLOR=transparent]
30c0fd483b.jpg
[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Elliot.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“I’ll.. See you.. There, bastard…”[/BCOLOR]

[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]

[BCOLOR=transparent]This alarmed Katniss, and she immediately tried searching for a way into the room.. But by the time she found one, the man had vanished without a trace. “Damn!” the brunette exclaimed in frustration, slamming a fist against the wall. [/BCOLOR]

It took a while for Xenon and Angelic Buster to make some sense about this. When they get everything...

"So what now?"

"We'll go back to Mapleworld for now. We'll tell the Maple Alliance about this."

"Ok! I'm getting sick of this place anyways."

And so they went back to Mapleworld.

*and there goes a crappy epilogue because i wasn't getting alerts xD*

Joseph Joestar - Epilogue: Stardust Tendency

atgbdYM.png

Well, well, well, well, well, well, well! Joseph seemed to react pretty positively to the kiss!

"Gehehe, yeah. I'm way smarter than I look," JoJo said, flaunting his ego, "Hmhm, just maybe. I'm up for traveling to new places, as long as I don't gotta run into those scary not-zombies again! But knowin' my luck... first it was vampires, then zombies, it'll probably be aliens next for all I know! But who knows? I got a place to be, so I'll have to take you on that offer at a later time! I have commitments after all!"

As he would say that, he would hold up his relatively plain hand.

Beat.

"OOOHHHH NOOOO!" Joseph suddenly exclaimed, suddenly panicking as he would urgently look around, as though he seemed to be looking for something, "W-Where'd it go?! Suzi Q is gonna kill me for sure if I come home without it!! Holy shit, I'm gonna die!!"

Even after fighting vampire gods, infected sub-humans, and other monsters, there was one thing Joseph feared over everything else. Women. The wrath of women.

"O-Oh. Aha! There it is!" He would then exclaim, reverting back to his upbeat demeanor as he would take something from the ground, before putting it onto his finger. It was... a wedding ring?

"... Heh! My wife is expecting, and I just realized a good name for the child! I know it's gonna be a girl, so I can name her Holy!" He exclaimed, as though unaware that he might be saying or doing anything he shouldn't.

He probably meant Holly, but that was okay. Let it be.

FgOdpXm.png

"Anyway, here's to seeing you again, sweet cheeks! I'd call you... if telephones even exist wherever you live! Buuut I'm sure we'll see each other again soon! Fate and all that! See ya!"

And like that, he was gone, having abruptly taken a portal home without any care of whatever that Elliot or Katniss or rebellion talk was about.

What a majestic man he was.

Several months later, in his world, his daughter Holy Joestar was born. What a touching story.

Joseph Joestar will return soon for another exciting Murder Event though! Or something.

-Add Epilogue-
"Paranoia"

Back within the timeless space that harbored nothing but a certain Esper, a projection of the events that involved the Metamorphoses Sickness were shown to Add. Elliot was gone and out of his sights. The sickness spreading and infecting those throughout. This all was unexpected... and the Esper couldn't help but laugh at the thought of this.

"Regardless of the timelines... the sickness spreads... interesting. I may have Elliot on my hit list... but having such a virus under my control sounds splendid... kekeke..."

With a wide grin, he glided his hand across the many projections to shut them off, his head rotating a bit to his left as if he were slightly turning his direction to someone.

"So, spit it out, weakling. There was a reason why I pulled you out of your damn timeline. You happened to make use of the sickness, and if you simply shared the knowledge, we'll both walk off with great content."

The figure that stood behind him wore a ragged black cloak with a hood, but no sleeves. With only the lower half of the face visible, the rather short figure smiled.

"In that case, I'll like to propose a contract between us both. I will be the contractor and provider, and you will be the client and worker. I will tell all that I know once we have the contract. All I ask of you is to sign the contract and kill other targets besides your own personal targets."

The figure didn't get to finish as Add's Dynamos rushed towards them, probably going to be struck by a Particle Accelerator. However, a flash of blue occurred, and this left the Esper in shock by the appearance of a white-armored figure slashing and forcing the Dynamos away. It was like this armored figure appeared from cyberspace, and it soon disappeared once the deed was done. This matter of possible technology was much more advanced than his or even Eve's... The hooded figure didn't wipe that smile off as they held out a paper and a pen.

"Now... will you please sign here?"

And then it was over. Cameron, his hunter for the last three years, had ended the threats to their lives. They had done it together. Hunter and Prey, though which one was truly which anymore?
There was silence as no one moved, cautiously awaiting the familiar and dreaded sound of ripping, and then the darkness.

None came.

Instead a girl came to them, even younger than Connor himself. She had a bow slung across her back, and looked as if she knew how to use it. So, as any sane person would do, he listened to her narration, then followed her through the portal. A leap of faith, one that was amply rewarded by a sight he had resigned himself to never seeing again. A fairly short blonde woman with hot pink hair.

Ridley Duchannes.

She was in the place where Connor himself had been taken to be killed for the crimes of his pursuer and brief ally. His stomach dropped, this wasn't right. Why was she here. She should be safe with the Assassins right now, The Fall not coming for nearly fifteen years.

"Iah tewake'nikonhraién:ta's." He said to himself, mostly to himself. It was doubtful that she could hear him inside glass her glass cage. That's when she punched Elliot, the other occupant of the room. He nodded in approval, wanting to do more than that to the man himself. He actually smiled when she started beating him, but then he saw it. Her single, deadly, misstep. As she drew her fist back to try to crumple Elliot's face in even further, the man drew a dagger from seemingly thin air and stabbed her, faster than Connor could focus his new abilities to get inside. The crimson Caster blood made a silent pit pat on the ground that Connor didn't even have to hear to know the sound of. It was the sound of death.

"Ista!" He yelled, terror ringing out in his voice.

He shifted inside, a shadowy film surrounding the area where he had stood just a moment before. It was dark inside the room. Why? Wasn't it lit up just a moment ago? No, wait, he hadn't moved. He was still standing outside the glass, seemingly stuck in place, unable to get inside. He waved the shadows away as if they were smoke, and pounded his fist against the glass, hitting it with all his strength. Ineffectual to say the least.
Fire. Fire. Burn it down. Burn the whole thing down. Burn the whole damn world down if he had to.

"Not this time. Not again."

Flames licked out of his his fingerstips, his palm, his entire arm, a scorching inferno. They burned a bright white, almost painful to look at. He pressed his palm against the glass, trying to melt his way through, or make it brittle enough so he could break his way through. But as his flames licked away at the glass, using nature's deadliest weapon to try to save a life, Ridley's ember faded forever. She was gone.

"Istaaaaaaaaaaaa." He yelled, his arm giving off a small explosion of pure brilliance and heat as he lost himself in his grief.

Giving one last futile pound on the glass, Connor sank to his knees. Why? When Katniss found her way into the room, Connor didn't stir. Why was there never a way to change the things that mattered.

Comfort came from an unexpected source. Cameron placed a hand on his shoulder, simply stating. "She died fighting. Kate didn't have that chance. Be glad that your mother did." Connor looked at her numbly, not answering. Kate Connor. Another mistake on a long list of them. Maybe one of his worst though.

After a time, the boy found his way into Elliot's little play room. He then knelt above the dead Siren's body, moving a bloody strand of hot pink hair out of her face.

"Lakohsatens ohontsà:ke, a'shatsténhshera, karonhià:ke Ka'shatsténhshera, Skennen'kó:wa."

Memories broken
The truth goes unspoken
I’ve even forgotten my name

"Atsawesolvsdi Wigedohesdi Dohiyi." Connor reached out and closed her eyes as he spoke, mimicking the actions of an Assassin without realizing it. He knelt there for a moment, head bowed, just trying to keep it together. He hadn't even known she'd been here, and by the time he'd found out it was too late to save her, again. He'd failed to prevent her death, just like the first time, and it killed him inside. What had all this been for? Who cared about the timelines or the future? He was just a boy that had wanted to see his parents again, and now it was all lost. How many times did the people he love have to die before he was able to change the consensus.

I don’t know the season
Or what is the reason
I’m standing here holding my blade
A desolate place
Without any trace
It’s only the cold wind I feel

Connor raised his head and looked at the still, lifeless body of his Mother. She needed buried, it was his way. The way of the Kanien'kehá:ka. But, it wouldn't be here, and there was no other place for her. He knew her history. Her family didn't want her, he couldn't go to the Assassins, and her spirit wouldn't be trapped with the blood of this place. The place where he and so many other people had been ripped apart.

t’s me that I spite
As I stand up and fight
The only thing I know for real

There was only one thing to do.

IThere will be blood-shed
The man in the mirror nods his head

Connor's arm began to burn with the heat, but it couldn't hurt him, there was nothing that could compare to the fire that was already that was burning him up inside. The heat became flame, and he waved it over Ridley's form, the flames licking at her body, eating away the blood, and then soon enough the flesh of the woman herself. She was slowly being taken away into that which she had come. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and death to death.

The only one left
Will ride upon the dragon’s back
Because the mountains don’t give back what they take
Oh no
There will be blood-shed
It’s the only thing I’ve ever known
Losing my identity
Wondering have I gone insane
To find the truth in front of me
I must climb this mountain range

Soon enough, there was nothing left but the ashes, The ashes and the flames. But it wasn't the end, and it wasn't enough to celebrate her life. Connor raised his arm, a remembering her not as she'd been, but as he remembered his mother, and sent the flames and the ash and all the things that had happened flying upwards in one final, grand movement.

Looking downward from this deadly height
And never realizing why I fight

"Ó:nen ki' wáhi."

While Connor was mourning his mother, Cameron was walking with John. She'd found her place, and wasn't straying from it. Destiny itself couldn't rip her from her mission. Things were simple for the Terminator. Protect John Connor. Saving humanity was the unintended consequence of this. While she didn't know if John had forgiven her for the murders she had committed under the control of Elliot's subroutines, it didn't matter or even enter her mind. She was here to stay.

Fate had other plans.

A cyborg walked out of one of the portals. He was both superior and inferior in to design to Cameron. His body could take literal tons more pressure than Cameron's endoskeleton could, but her appearance was vastly superior to his obviously fake skin.
"TOK715?" He asked with a voice that sounded like gasoline poured over gravel.

"Who are you?" Cameron asked.

"Name's Raiden. I work for a group called Maverick. You've been targeted for termination or recruitment. I'd chose the recruitment personally, but I'm fine with either."

The time has come to an end
Yeah – this is what nature planned

Cameron didn't answer, instead preferring to litter his body with armor piercing rounds from the SMG the Rookie had so kindly gifted her. Termination was preferable to negotiation.

Being tracked by a starving beast
Looking for its daily feast
A predator on the verge of death
Close to its last breath
Getting close to its last breath

Raiden deflected the shots easily with his high frequency sword, his movements never ending, flowing into each other like water through a stream, perfect and unbreakable. And then he dashed forward, worrying Cameron's form with a thousand small cuts before finally disarming her cleanly, catching the flying limb and safely storing it. Zandatsu.

Cameron stepped back, her injuries mostly superficial barring her missing arm, but she nearly oblivious to the damage. She raised a fist to try to strike him, defiant to the end. Raiden stepped back, sword raised in defense.

XpcpFDI.gif

"Cam." He said in his rasping voice, using a nickname of hers for some reason. "Stop. I don't want to destroy you."

Cameron looked at him, scanning him for weak points. They were there, but she couldn't exploit them in her current state. She was operating at approximately 57% between her injuries from dying and being repaired, the fight with the hellhounds, and Raiden's brutal assault. She was still between him and John though. She was going to kill him before he had a chance to get past her, even if it would only get her destroyed in the process.

Cameron attacked, Raiden countered.

smjoTwi.jpg

She was impaled, Raiden's blade sent straight through her stomach and out the other side, just missing her nuclear battery. It she was a human, she'd have been choking on her own blood, struggling for breath. But she wasn't. She was a Terminator. A perfect creature. She clawed her way forwards down the blade, trying to reach Raiden, snap his neck. Do something to end the potential threat to John's life.

And they run when the sun comes up
With their lives on the line
(Alive)
For a while
(No choice)
Gotta follow the laws of the wild
(Alive)
With their lives on the line
(No choice)
Out here only the strong survive

Raiden's hand tightened around the blade. It would so easy to end the fight right now. Just a simple tug upwards, cutting through her endoskeleton and cleaving her CPU chip cleanly in half. Barely more than a twitch for the powerful cyborg.

With one smooth motion he pulled the blade out of her and sent her flying into the glass that surrounded the torture room with a powerful kick. She sat there, chip whirring with a way to bring this enemy down. To kill this foe that had so cleanly bested her.

C4tRHsM.jpg

She reached into the hole that Raiden had made for her heart. Not a beating heart that humans had, but the nuclear core that gave her life and kept her fighting, kept her killing. "Run John." She said.

"Cameron. Stop." Maybe Raiden could survive that, but that wasn't what he cared about. This Terminator was special. Different from the rest. Doktor wanted her for study, and Boris wanted her as an agent. Raiden wanted her for something different. He could see the potential in her, the same potential that a boy once known infamously as Jack the Ripper had had locked away inside him. "Is this the way to protect your John Connor? Kill me and then what? He's alone and defenseless with only that old Terminator for protection."

Cameron hesitated. He was making sense. But, her prime directive-... had already changed once. It could change again.

What’s done is done
Survived to see another day
The dance of life
The hunter and the agile prey
No guarantee
Of which of them will succeed
Strong or weak

"C'mon Rid. We can make you into a better killer. We know plenty about that." There was just the very faintest trace of bitterness in his voice."

"A better protector." Cameron said, her voice coming out slurred and mechanical. Broken.

"Yeah kid. A better protector."

Cameron pulled her hand away from the nuclear fission device. Her Judgement Day hadn't come yet.

/Prime Directive: Become a better protector for John Connor
Atone

Sheathing his sword, Raiden picked her up as easily as one might a child, and carried her off into the portal from whence he had come.

There Is No Fate But What We Made Of It, but today she hadn't made one for herself, instead choosing to accept the one that another had chosen for her.

"I'm sorry John."

Connor was nestled snugly between the trunk and branch of a tree, far far above the ground below. He wished he could leave his thoughts down there too. He hadn't bothered with the portals after he had cremated Ridley, the desire for fulfilling his mission temporarily lulled by grief. It was the middle of the night, the moon risen far above the tops of the trees, and he mourned.

Until a crack lit up the night like a gunshot. Connor fell out of his tree on purpose, disappearing in a shadowy mist as he descended.

He stalked the source of the sound in the bushes that he reappeared in, barely able to make out the outline of whatever foul beast had followed him from Elliot's little play room. Turning, he could see the thing's figure look straight in his direction, its snout sniffing the air. Then it looked directly at him, its silvery eyes glinting in the moonlight.

Might as well attack while he had the element of surprise. Connor leaped out of his hiding spot and summoned a great burst of flame in his arm, lighting up the area and maybe hopefully scaring away whatever was after him.

A pair yellow eyes stared back at him, unimpressed.

The air was silent for a moment, the two staring at each other, then Connor rushed forward, extinguishing the flames as he went to hug his oldest friend.

"Okwaho."

As he hugged the genetically modified predator, he finally broke into tears. The final thing that broke him wasn't sadness, but joy. He'd thought he was never going to see his companion again, the animal being lost at the final battle at Masayaf. But here was.... He must have come through the time bubble seconds after them and been spit out after they'd been sucked into the Murder Game. He'd tracked them from universe to universe, always finding a way through the cracks.

Good boy.

Even with the whole world turned against him, Achilles would always be there for him.

As Connor let it all out, his tears soaking the wolf's coat as it nuzzled him gently, he became aware of a wall dead air to his left. It was a sound void, blocking out the ambient noise from behind it. There was someone standing there, blocking the night calling out of the night.

Straining his eyes, he could see a hooded shape as he turned. But the hood wasn't the striking part. That belonged to the hooded person's eyes. They were two bright spots in a completely shadowed face, a pure gold that seemed to pierce everything in the woods around them.

aI1ypwA.png

"You're not Ridley." The figure stated blandly. Inside one of the Hoodie's pockets a screen glowed through the fabric, the readout barely visible. When Achilles gently slipped out of his arms to stand in front of his master, defending him with a fierce snarl, the screen shifted slightly. It was as if the canine was lowjacked, his every movement being tracked.

"Have you come to kill me Desmond?" Connor asked, recognizing his father's figure and his almost unique glowing eyes.

Desmond looked at him for a moment, cold and calculating, the Mentor that he always presented to his enemies. "Maybe. Did you hurt Rid."

Connor lay kneeling where he had been for a moment more, wiping at his tears away with a hand that had spilled too much blood too young, then turned to face his destiny.

"I'm not the murderer. Father." He spat, more fear, pain, longing and loneliness wrapped up in those words than any that had ever spoken from him before.

"I... huh?" Desmond asked, almost comically confused. His facade of the all knowing teacher was slipping faster than his composure when Ridley turned on the heat.

"You killed her, and then you hunted me." Connor drew his tomahawk, and pointed it at Desmond accusingly. "You were the one that betrayed what we stood for? And for what? You threw it all away on the altar of your spite. You were the one that orchestrated The Fall, and we fell with you. I was the only one strong enough to stand against you." Connor's voice rose with every word until he was yelling, breaking the stillness with his fiery anger. "You broke the Creed."

Desmond held up his hands defensively, honestly having no clue what he was on about. "Whoah. I think you've got me confused with someone else. None of this stuff ever happened."

"Not yet. Never again."

Connor's arm alit with fire, and he looked under the edge of his hood at Desmond, the stare of a man that was going to save the world by burning the whole thing down.

2GyNjE7.png

"It has to be this way."

Connor stepped forward, and with a blink of smoke he was standing in front to the Mentor, slashing his tomahawk downwards in a strike from his right hand, trying to save his timeline.

Standing here
I realize
You are just like me
Trying to make history

Desmond caught the shaft of the tomahawk, right above where his once and future son's gripped the handle. He struggled with it, shocked at the younger man's strength. He had the same physique as his father, slender but shockingly strong from freerunning.

But who’s to judge
The right from wrong
When our guard is down
I think we’ll both agree

Desmond's Hidden Blade flicked out, intent on sealing another pact in blood with the Reaper today. It wasn't the shock blade. The fight had moved past that. Kill or be killed.

That

Desmond sent it plunging into Connor's side, only for the Templar to grab his father's wrist just above the blade midway through his strike. They struggled like that for a time, both of them locked in position, seeing which would break first.

Violence breeds violence
But in the end it has to be this way

Desmond's left arm began to burn where Connor had his death grip on it. His eyes flicked down, looking at where Connor's arm had begun to glow with a seeming inner fire. For a second he wished he'd never given Lucy back the nice and protecting bracer version of the Hidden Blade in return for the more inconspicuous leather one, but whatever. Upgrade later. Now it was time to use his head.
Desmond rammed the top of said head directly into Connor's nose, producing a loud crack and the sound of swearing in Native American. Connor stumbled backwards, an almost annoyed expression joining his previous angry one.

I’ve carved my own path
You followed your wrath
But maybe we’re both the same

"Theriousthly? Youth hathn't done that thence I was thine." Connor his flaming hand up to his nose, and pushed his nose back into place with a few choice swear words that Desmond unfortunately understood.
While Connor was complaining about his plight, Achilles entered the fray, taking advantage of Connor not being in the way to leap at the Mentor, teeth snapping at his throat.
Desmond ducked down, letting the wolf's trajectory take it over Desmond's head. The wolf landed lightly on its feet, turning lithely for another leap at Desmond. That was until the Assassin said something in Latin.

"Insidiaberis calcaneo." The wolf bowed its head in supplication, whimpering.

Achilles had been made for Desmond, once. That was before he'd given the pup to Ridley to keep her safe. Now somehow it had become Connors. But either way, the commands implanted deep within its mind remained intact. It wasn't going to attack either of its masters. It retreated, not wanting to see either of them die.

Connor stared at Desmond, the seemingly untouchable mastermind that had torn the universe apart. Or was he? People changed, and this wasn't his time. But it didn't matter. It was time to end this.

Yet staring across this barren wasted land
I feel new life will be born
Beneath the blood stained sand
Beneath the blood stained sand

Connor shadowed stepped, and reappeared behind Desmond, slashing at his back. The Mentor easily blocked his progeny's blow, and countered, only to strike aa puff of shadows in retaliation. Connor appeared to his left, repeating his attack to the same effect, attack, wait for the counter, and vanish. And so it went for the next five minutes. Attack, counter, vanish. Each time Desmond's reactions slowed, the constant battle wearing him down until finally, he made his mistake, over extending himself and allowing Connor to flip him onto his back where the boy raised his tomahawk...

And held it. The boy stared at Desmond, not striking. Not completing his mission. Not fulfilling the destiny that the Templars had filled his head with for all these years.

He looked down at Desmond, and he saw himself.

It didn't have to be this way.

Turning away, he called Achilles to him and together they shadowed out of existence. He would find another way.

~~~~
It was a another world, but the same memories, and the same problems. But he wasn't alone this time. Achilles sat in the grass a dozen feet away from him, enjoying the warm summer air and nipping at the flies that were buzzing him as his master completed his task. Connor was kneeling in front of a simple bowl of water, his hood lowered, his tomahawk at his side.
Looking down on the cars on the highway
The stream of tail lights
Everybody advancing together
Do so willingly sacrifice rights
When people accept they’’ -re_ cogs in the system
Give up free will, conform
He was a failure as both an Assassin and a Templar. He'd failed to save Ridley, and he'd failed to save the future. He... he couldn't understand why he'd spared Desmond. For the past eight years he'd trained for his death. Prepared himself for that moment, and yet when it came, he'd choked.
No. Not choked. He'd stopped himself for a reason, but why? He couldn't find it within himself, so he took solitude within his own little punishment.
Individual pieces of dust swirl together
Become a full storm
Looking down on the burgeoning city
The skyscrapers rise
Even men with the greatest intentions
Start believing their own lies
Taking hold of his pony tail, Connor sliced upwards with his tomahawk, cutting the the strands of hair arranged in the fashion that was typical of both Assassins and Templars. He didn't deserve either. His hair flopped loosely and aimlessly around his head, too short to gather up and put away. In his hand was clutched the braid, his allegiance to both parties. He set it beside the bowl, setting aside all it represented.
We can borrow from the future
But eventually someone’s got to pay
The only way out of the cycle
Is to strike out and pave your own way
Yeah
He reached into the bowl of water and splashed it on his face, washing away all the blood and the tears that had accumulated on his face. It was too bad he couldn't do that for what was inside.
We all fight our own fight
Will you fuel the desire to win
Always struggling with the truth
Of the life that might have been
Connor knew where he needed to go. Gatlin. He knew that the women at the game wasn't biologically his mother, rather an alternate form of her. His real mother had been wholly against using her Siren strength in any circumstance. And the real Ridley wasn't with the Assassins. Desmond had been tracking her using Achilles, and the Mentor had gotten her signal overridden by Connor's version of the wolf. Not that Desmond would be able to track him now. Well, not unless he wanted a fight with a grizzly bear that Connor had attached Achilles's collar to.
That only left Gatlin. Her home, however much she hated it.
But no matter how jagged your path is
You’ll always come back to the road
Rising to his feet and calling Okwaho to him, he pulled his hood up. Wherever he was going, whatever he was, there was a constant. Himself. He might have failed the Templars. He might have rebelled against the Assassins. But he was still here. He was still going to save the universe, and his timeline. He just wasn't sure how yet. Maybe his mom could help him figure it out.
When the dust of battle settleshas settled
The war still rages within
[BCOLOR=transparent]Epilogue Round: Tying Loose Ends[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Now that the foes were all defeated, the group would probably assume that the dilapidated world around them would soon be fading into something new.. But, several minutes went by. Soon, they turned to what felt like hours. And yet, still, nothing happened; the world remained as close to peaceful as possible, and the familiar ripping sound never came. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
Katniss-Everdeen-Fan-Art-the-hunger-games-29798531-495-593.png
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]After a while, a scratched up Katniss looked over the group warily, before simply frowning. The boy beside her shared a similar look of dismay, crossing his arms with eyebrows furrowed in thought. “This isn’t right. Something’s missing,” he declared, looking less than happy with the situation. Katniss nodded her agreement, sheathing her bow hesitantly, but clearly staying alert. “You’re right. And I know just what it is,” the Mockingjay stated, crouching down and delicately brushing her hand over the ground. With how intently focused she was, it was almost like she was tracking something.. But that wasn’t possible, was it?[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Well, to anyone that thought that, they would be quickly proven wrong. The young woman got to her feet, looking around with concentration.. Before she seemed to affirm she found what she was looking for, and pointed it out to the others. It didn’t seem like anything, at first glance, but hey.. Maybe this was one of those things that were more than they seemed. “There. That’s the portal we need,” she told the group with clear confidence. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]For the sake of the group? Hopefully she wasn’t wrong. So when the girl confidently strode right up to the location she’d told them to go to, and seemed to vanish right through it? It was probably a relief to the group. And when they followed behind her, they’d find themselves faced with…- Well, something really unexpected, to say the least. They now stood in what seemed like the outside of an interrogation room, when it came to the odd glass wall in front of them looking into a room where two people- a male and female -resided. Upon closer look, a few things rung familiar; the room was that in which the group had seen many killed in. Where those voted out were sent and slaughtered.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
bf230a5189.jpg
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]And, what do you know.. A certain blonde with hot pink stripes in her hair was within the room. No surprise there, right?[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Of course.. There [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]was[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] a different surprise there: Rather than being sat in the middle of the room, bound to a chair with vicious creatures coming after her.. The girl was perfectly fine. Or, well… In one sense, anyways. There was definitely something different about her, now, though. The easygoing, kind facade she’d held before in order to gain allies had completely vanished. Now, when one were to look at the blonde, all they’d see was a broken shell of a girl, overwhelmed by nothing but anger, pain, and spite, somehow provoked by the man whom resided in the room with her.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“-You pathetic, low-life, disgusting little bastard!” she exclaimed, accentuating every word with a harsh slap to the male in front of her’s face. In contrast to Ridley’s clear rage, the man just chuckled, as though the harsh slaps were nothing but an annoyance, similarly to a fly buzzing around one’s head. He grabbed Rid’s wrist hard, squeezing it tightly to a point where it seemed like it could break at any second. “You know, ‘mad’ is a good look on--”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Before the man could finish the statement, Rid’s other hand clenched into a tight fist, raising up and hitting the dark-haired male square in the jaw, resulting in a large ‘crack!’, as well as the male dropping his grip on her and falling to the ground from the force. Before he had time to recover, the blonde grabbed him by the collar, lifting him up and slamming him against the wall so hard that it cracked the drywall slightly. Now, in this position, the man’s face was in clear sight for the group:[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
30c0fd483b.jpg
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Elliot.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The one difference was.. The man was clearly beaten up. His jaw seemed almost as though dislocated by the punch(and was bleeding a good bit), he had red marks on his face from the multiple slaps he’d received, his clothes were a little torn up, and a good number of bruises littered his body. Ridley wasn’t looking like she was holding up the best, herself, but she didn’t let that stop her. Instead, she smiled sickly at Elliot, looking at him distantly. “Ha, ha.. How’s it feel, you disgusting little SOB? How’s it feel..” she accentuated this by rather suddenly gripping Elliot’s arm and twisting harshly, holding him up with her other arm. “..being the one on.. on…-” Ridley’s words were briefly cut short, due to a bit of blood filling her mouth that she promptly spit out. “..the other side of the torture?”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]This earned a rather small, smug grin from Elliot through the pain of his dislocated jaw and arm that was twisted to a point of being about to snap. “Oh, come now. You [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]had[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] to have loved the torture. I personally saw to that,” he remarked sarcastically, earning a scowl from Ridley, who now found it to be the right time to snap the man’s arm. The action earned a strangled cry, that quickly turned to a pained laugh. “I think you’ll find that you’re much easier to break than I,” he taunted, earning the exact reaction he wanted; further rage from Ridley. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Blind[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] rage. Something that could easily be taken advantage of. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]While Ridley reared up for another punch, Elliot decided this was good enough opportunity. After all, with how angry she was, the Siren wasn’t exactly thinking clear enough to predict Elliot retaliating. She didn’t know she needed her defenses up, so when the man conjured a small dagger and plunged it deep into her abdomen right as her fist was about to collide with his nose.. Ridley could only really gawk.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“Oops!” Elliot exclaimed, donning a mockingly apologetic look. “My hand seems to have slipped.. Have a [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]grand[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] time in Hell~” Elliot chimed almost cheerfully as realization of what had just happened slowly dawned upon Ridley. The blonde looked at him with wide golden eyes filled with something between horror, disappointment, intense hate and.. Relief? Slowly, her crushing grip on him fell away, and she sank to her knees on the floor.. Before speaking her final words through a mouth flooding with blood.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“I’ll.. See you.. There, bastard…”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]And, just like that, Ridley bled out on the floor. Unluckily for the group, Elliot- albeit obviously extremely banged up and struggling with holding together -was still standing. He soon seemed to become aware of the little crowd that had been watching the scene, and frowned deeply. He didn’t have time for this… Wasn’t in any condition to be taking on a large group of people. Not to mention, they were all supposed to be [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]dead[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]. It looked like these traitors just weren’t as reliable as his last.. But, it was of no matter: the fact was, he needed to get out of there.. Fast.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“I’d absolutely love to stay and chat with you all, but I really must be going,” the man stated in the direction of the group, offering a less than pleasant wave. “Toodles~” he chimed, snapping his fingers of his good hand. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
Katniss-Everdeen1-e1332152128723.jpg
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]This alarmed Katniss, and she immediately tried searching for a way into the room.. But by the time she found one, the man had vanished without a trace. “Damn!” the brunette exclaimed in frustration, slamming a fist against the wall. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
full
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The young boy looked slightly less shaken up, and shrugged dismissively. “He got away again.. So what?” he inquired, as though this weren’t a big deal. This seemed to infuriate Katniss, who now whirled on heel to confront him. “Don’t you get it? He killed my family! Peeta, our children.. Gone,” she explained, looking as though on the verge of tears. Clearly, this was a painful subject for the brunette.. Which caused the boy’s features to soften, and he patted her shoulder awkwardly in attempt at reassurance. But, the girl shrugged him off, straightening up again before turning to address the group.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“You all.. Probably want some answers, don’t you?” she mused, dejectedly brushing a few locks of dark hair out of her face. “As you’ve probably all seen, the universe is falling apart at the very seams; ripped apart by the tampering of that man.. Elliot,” she started, looking very put off. “Not only did he upset the balance that held it together, but he’s released The Sickness into countless worlds,” the male at her side added.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“Look.. The point is, Elliot needs to be stopped. He’s killed so many, and he isn’t about to stop any damn time soon. The Rebels have managed to start mending a few of the tears, but our affairs will be pointless if we don’t finish Elliot once and for all. Every second we waste here? Lives are being destroyed. We can’t take him alone, so..-” before Katniss could finish, the boy stepped up again. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“So if you’re the faint of heart, feel free to get out of here. We should be able to briefly stabilize a few portals. Going through the tears is.. Okay, but there’s no saying where you’ll end up,” he admitted, shoving his hands into his pockets. “..If you’re brave enough, we need all the help we can get out on the field if we’re ever going to stop that psychopath.”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Well.. Now that the pair seemed to have finished up their explaining, it looked like the group had a few options; [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]they could take a portal home, travel through a random tear, or join Katniss and the rebellion[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]. There was no telling what the options would bring, but they were worth taking a chance.[/BCOLOR]
"Phew!"
Noel just sat down where she stood. Enough of the monsters, and infections, or whatever. Despite that, she still had another choice to make. Go home, or help these people with...whatever this was? Either way, she left some poor dimension, or dimensions, to fend for themselves. But how much help was she, really? Was she overestimating herself?
Ah, forget it. She didn't really know anyone here, and she couldn't just leave Tsubaki, Makoto, and the others forever without even having said good-bye. And while she never had to act as the Godslayer here, she didn't want to stick around to find out how a murakumo unit would interact with a dimension so different from her own.
The gunslinger stood up, turned around and took a portal home.
Upon closer look, a few things rung familiar; the room was that in which the group had seen many killed in. Where those voted out were sent and slaughtered.[/BCOLOR]
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]And, what do you know.. A certain blonde with hot pink stripes in her hair was within the room. No surprise there, right?[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Of course.. There [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]was[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] a different surprise there: Rather than being sat in the middle of the room, bound to a chair with vicious creatures coming after her.. The girl was perfectly fine. Or, well… In one sense, anyways. There was definitely something different about her, now, though. The easygoing, kind facade she’d held before in order to gain allies had completely vanished. Now, when one were to look at the blonde, all they’d see was a broken shell of a girl, overwhelmed by nothing but anger, pain, and spite, somehow provoked by the man whom resided in the room with her.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“-You pathetic, low-life, disgusting little bastard!” she exclaimed, accentuating every word with a harsh slap to the male in front of her’s face. In contrast to Ridley’s clear rage, the man just chuckled, as though the harsh slaps were nothing but an annoyance, similarly to a fly buzzing around one’s head. He grabbed Rid’s wrist hard, squeezing it tightly to a point where it seemed like it could break at any second. “You know, ‘mad’ is a good look on--”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Before the man could finish the statement, Rid’s other hand clenched into a tight fist, raising up and hitting the dark-haired male square in the jaw, resulting in a large ‘crack!’, as well as the male dropping his grip on her and falling to the ground from the force. Before he had time to recover, the blonde grabbed him by the collar, lifting him up and slamming him against the wall so hard that it cracked the drywall slightly. Now, in this position, the man’s face was in clear sight for the group:[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Elliot.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The one difference was.. The man was clearly beaten up. His jaw seemed almost as though dislocated by the punch(and was bleeding a good bit), he had red marks on his face from the multiple slaps he’d received, his clothes were a little torn up, and a good number of bruises littered his body. Ridley wasn’t looking like she was holding up the best, herself, but she didn’t let that stop her. Instead, she smiled sickly at Elliot, looking at him distantly. “Ha, ha.. How’s it feel, you disgusting little SOB? How’s it feel..” she accentuated this by rather suddenly gripping Elliot’s arm and twisting harshly, holding him up with her other arm. “..being the one on.. on…-” Ridley’s words were briefly cut short, due to a bit of blood filling her mouth that she promptly spit out. “..the other side of the torture?”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]This earned a rather small, smug grin from Elliot through the pain of his dislocated jaw and arm that was twisted to a point of being about to snap. “Oh, come now. You [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]had[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] to have loved the torture. I personally saw to that,” he remarked sarcastically, earning a scowl from Ridley, who now found it to be the right time to snap the man’s arm. The action earned a strangled cry, that quickly turned to a pained laugh. “I think you’ll find that you’re much easier to break than I,” he taunted, earning the exact reaction he wanted; further rage from Ridley. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Blind[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] rage. Something that could easily be taken advantage of. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]While Ridley reared up for another punch, Elliot decided this was good enough opportunity. After all, with how angry she was, the Siren wasn’t exactly thinking clear enough to predict Elliot retaliating. She didn’t know she needed her defenses up, so when the man conjured a small dagger and plunged it deep into her abdomen right as her fist was about to collide with his nose.. Ridley could only really gawk.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“Oops!” Elliot exclaimed, donning a mockingly apologetic look. “My hand seems to have slipped.. Have a [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]grand[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] time in Hell~” Elliot chimed almost cheerfully as realization of what had just happened slowly dawned upon Ridley. The blonde looked at him with wide golden eyes filled with something between horror, disappointment, intense hate and.. Relief? Slowly, her crushing grip on him fell away, and she sank to her knees on the floor.. Before speaking her final words through a mouth flooding with blood.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“I’ll.. See you.. There, bastard…”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]And, just like that, Ridley bled out on the floor. Unluckily for the group, Elliot- albeit obviously extremely banged up and struggling with holding together -was still standing. He soon seemed to become aware of the little crowd that had been watching the scene, and frowned deeply. He didn’t have time for this… Wasn’t in any condition to be taking on a large group of people. Not to mention, they were all supposed to be [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]dead[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]. It looked like these traitors just weren’t as reliable as his last.. But, it was of no matter: the fact was, he needed to get out of there.. Fast.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“I’d absolutely love to stay and chat with you all, but I really must be going,” the man stated in the direction of the group, offering a less than pleasant wave. “Toodles~” he chimed, snapping his fingers of his good hand. [/BCOLOR]
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]This alarmed Katniss, and she immediately tried searching for a way into the room.. But by the time she found one, the man had vanished without a trace. “Damn!” the brunette exclaimed in frustration, slamming a fist against the wall. [/BCOLOR]
[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The young boy looked slightly less shaken up, and shrugged dismissively. “He got away again.. So what?” he inquired, as though this weren’t a big deal. This seemed to infuriate Katniss, who now whirled on heel to confront him. “Don’t you get it? He killed my family! Peeta, our children.. Gone,” she explained, looking as though on the verge of tears. Clearly, this was a painful subject for the brunette.. Which caused the boy’s features to soften, and he patted her shoulder awkwardly in attempt at reassurance. But, the girl shrugged him off, straightening up again before turning to address the group.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“You all.. Probably want some answers, don’t you?” she mused, dejectedly brushing a few locks of dark hair out of her face. “As you’ve probably all seen, the universe is falling apart at the very seams; ripped apart by the tampering of that man.. Elliot,” she started, looking very put off. “Not only did he upset the balance that held it together, but he’s released The Sickness into countless worlds,” the male at her side added.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“Look.. The point is, Elliot needs to be stopped. He’s killed so many, and he isn’t about to stop any damn time soon. The Rebels have managed to start mending a few of the tears, but our affairs will be pointless if we don’t finish Elliot once and for all. Every second we waste here? Lives are being destroyed. We can’t take him alone, so..-” before Katniss could finish, the boy stepped up again. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“So if you’re the faint of heart, feel free to get out of here. We should be able to briefly stabilize a few portals. Going through the tears is.. Okay, but there’s no saying where you’ll end up,” he admitted, shoving his hands into his pockets. “..If you’re brave enough, we need all the help we can get out on the field if we’re ever going to stop that psychopath.”[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Well.. Now that the pair seemed to have finished up their explaining, it looked like the group had a few options; [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]they could take a portal home, travel through a random tear, or join Katniss and the rebellion[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]. There was no telling what the options would bring, but they were worth taking a chance.[/BCOLOR]
Marie Korbel - Epilogue; A Skullgirl's Rebirth
@Hospes @Anyone
Marie sighed, she seemed to have recovered from her little moment of insanity by now, but, now what? She knew she couldn't return home, not now... The Skullheart's hold on her as is was already almost too much to bear, and if she traveled home, her fate would be sealed; even now, she could feel it's ill fated influence coarsing through her body, she closed her eyes as she concentrated, this Skullgirl won't be made a slave to such an relic so easily... An immense amount of dark power suddenly radiated from her body as she let loose a blood curdling cry; the Skullheart on her back cracked a little, it's glow changing from a blue hue do a bloody red for a moment as it seemed to recognize it's hosts resistance. However, soon enough, the Skullheart was giving out; it's influence having been weakened here, from being so far away from it's creators, cracks appeared amongst the ancient relic, before it finally shattered, leaning nothing behind but a distinct blue flame.
"You've served me well... But, your power will be put to better use from now on..." Marie said, smiling a little as she looked over at Katniss and the resistance, deciding to join Katniss and the resistance; she had found a new purpose now, one that she could persue without any catches this time... She found her way amongst their ranks quietly, patiently waiting for their next plan "Don't worry... I'm on your side now." she said, laughing a little, not entirely just out of courtesy, but, because she was finally free; free from her role as the Harbinger of destruction, the fate of a Skullgirl. Her eyes wandered over to the horizon, as the sun was starting to set... She had to wonder how Patricia was doing; she had heard rumors that she had been turned into some sort of Anti-skullgirl weapon, that she had survived that fatefull encounter with the Medici's. "It's your job to avenge us now... Patricia... Teach those Medicid's a lesson, the'll never forget..." She whispered... A determined, but, yet, gentle sort of look crossed her face for the first time as she stood there, wondering if she could ever return to New Meridian City again, in the state that she was... Though either way, she was happy with the way things had turned out...
EPILOGUE - KRAUSER, NEMESIS & MOM LALONDE
"Back to Aether and Beyond"
Her skin was crawling.
Mom Lalonde had shuffled along with the rest of the group as they were ushered into the portal. Perhaps normally she'd have been intrigued by the appearance of their apparent tormentor, Elliot, but with the senior Lalonde's body feeling as if it would fall apart at any moment, her mind became focused instead on leaving this sordid universe. Her teeth chattering and her pink eyes dilated, Mom looked absolutely manic as she turned to Krauser and took hold of his wrist.
"We have to go now," she said, staring into his eyes. Krauser looked for more ravaged by the virus than she did but somehow seemed far more in control of himself. Perhaps having a strange pathogen ailing his body was something he was used to, but that was far from the case for Mom. She wanted nothing more that to throttle Umbrella for their manipulation, but she knew now that going back to them was her best shot at fighting this thing.
And then getting back to her daughter.
Krauser simply made suit to follow after Mom and motioned for Nemesis to do the same. The virus had left him looking akin to an abomination with his right arm completely shifted into some kind of grotesque blade with yellow puss dripping down from it.
But while Mom most likely sought a cure for her ailment, Krauser couldn't help but stare in muted admiration. The power he had been craving for so long was finally his. Sure, it had taken some time to fully expand itself within Krauser's system but in the end, it turned out being worth the wait.
He was more powerful than he had ever been before. Superhuman strength was at his beckoning call and his blade could slice through anyone foolish enough to stand in his path. Not to mention that he had followed Wesker's orders to a T and kept the Nemesis in perfect condition. But then the brief thought crossed his mind. It was thanks to Wesker that Krauser was set on the path of finding some way to fix his injured arm. Yet he had found it by allowing some virus to take root in him and turn him into some kind of sideshow freak.
But at least the benefits outweighed the negatives. He had no family to worry about, no friends to alarm. He just had his duty and that was all a loyal soldier like him ever needed. Keeping Lalonde and Nemesis safe was just another part of that.
With a small nod, the woman whisked the pair away quietly from the group, trying to catch her bearings all the while. When she felt they were far enough away from prying eyes (and in control of her own bodily functions), Mom held up her arm and pulled back her sleeve to reveal a second wrist device. That it mildly resembled the one the resistance had given them had amused the senior Lalonde before.
"It's going to be unstable," Mom declared as she tapped at the device. "Wormholes upon wormholes are tugging this universe from every side. Let's hope Umbrella put good trust in their engineers." The nature of these wormholes and the unstable nature of this universe was something ultimately beyond Mom Lalonde's understanding. Though it was a subject that highly intrigued her, she was not confident she would fully grasp the ramifications of this event, no matter how many lives she lived.
As a portal opened before her, she mused how interesting it would be to speak to this Elliot.
"Let's go."
The mother stepped through the portal, eager to get back to the Aether facility.
