You would be an outcast, but it could work out for you....can't say to much Rofl. So if your character was to stay a way from the group it could still be interactive. Being The Narrator, I will make sure that even an outcast will have a big part lol. In the beginning since they will all.be just discovering their powers and what not, your character could try and keep his or her powers a secret or something if you want.

He stands at a height of roughly 6 feet tall with a muscular build, though his muscles do not bulge from his skin they are toned and easily noticeable. His body fat exists but is very evenly spread throughout his body, making it hard to notice any at all. Before his coma he wore a mustache that was rather sloppy, it was less out of style and more there for a lack in effort shaving, but since admitted into the hospital it was eventually shaven off of him.

History: Growing up, Josh always had a strong fascination with the story of Peter Pan, but unlike most boys who wanted to be a lost boy, Josh wanted to be a pirate. The idea of sailing in the seas free of all rules was very appealing, this became the gateway to a pirate obsession lasting Josh's entire childhood. Any pirate books, movies, or stories he could get a hold on he insisted on grabbing and holding onto forever, even stocking his most precious ones in a chest his parents had given him once he hit the age of 5. This was referred to as his "treasure chest." Most of Josh's life was rather normal growing up, but as he got older his obsession with pirates faded into a mere phase of his life.

In school, Josh was a terrible student, not for his lack of effort but for his lack of understanding any material put before him. Because of this, he had actually dropped out of high school and took his G.E.D. test, barely getting a passing grade. Immediately Josh went to work on the docks as a laborer and he loved it, there was something about working his body with physical labor, it was very rewarding to him. His co-workers referred to him as dumb muscle, and while it didn't please him it did not bother him as much as it would most other people, it was a true statement. After work he would find himself sitting by the water and listening to the sound of the waves, it calmed him and soothed him, a great way to relax.

After a few years of working at the docks, at age 27 he became injured at work, a heavy load had struck him on the back of his head and knocked him unconscious. Joshua never woke up, not in the real world, but he did wake up in new land filled with magic and what he thought was supernatural races, yet here they were before his eyes. The idea that his body back in the real world remained had completely escaped his mind as he stared at the awe inspiring scenery. He was near a port, just like when he was knocked unconscious, but while his at home was forged of steel and concrete, this one was built of wood and rope. Seeing the massive cargo ships with sails like the old days re-kindled his old love for pirates. When asked his name, Josh lied and called himself James, the name of his favorite pirate in fiction, Captain James Hook.

Now known by James, he was offered a job as a deck hand and immediately accepted this job, to be sailing at sea seemed like a wonderful idea! Unfortunately, he was quickly let down as he learned standing upright on a ship was much more difficult than the movies made it look, the swaying and rocking caused by the waves made an ever changing shift in his center of weight. The food was often stale and old, why pirates drank was now clear to him, it drowned the taste of old food. Though through all of this James acquired an iron stomach and eventually was able to adjust to walking aboard a ship, making him an ideal crew member for the trade ship. After time passed he came to realize the food was not bad, he simply lived in the luxury of an industrialized world before. While on this ship as a crew hand the men around him taught him valuable skills, nothing ever shown to him in school. The ability to navigate based on the sun, moon, and stars, how to tie effective knots, how to take care of his hardware, all life lessons that fell under his love for laboring.

Unfortunately, James now finds himself a sailor outside of a crew. He is unemployed and looking for a crew that would take him onto their ship.

Personality: Joshua is not very quiet, but he does find himself at a loss for words rather frequently. Due to his lack in education his vocabulary is very limited, this matched with his rough tone makes him sound like a tough emotionless man, but the truth is that Josh feels very strongly about many topics. Being at sea and talking with crew members has given Josh his own views on politics and morality of others, he's developed a strict moral code he must stick to should be wish to keep respecting himself. When it comes to women, he does enjoy their company time to time, but he has no desire to seek out a bride, his wife is his labor. As long as he keeps himself busy he will be a very happy man. When insulted, Josh ignores people as best he can, which doesn't happen to work very well for him, usually ending in physical retaliation, a good punch to the jaw usually quiets a person.

Dislikes: Paper money, math, science

Quirks: Josh often finds himself saying things such as "fair enough" even when things don't seem fair at all.

Flaws & Imperfections: Josh never earned a formal education, as such his math skills are very strongly lacking and his ability to work around complicated concepts and puzzles has proven to be a great ordeal for him.

Magical Realm

Name: James

Title: Captain James

Power(s): James has the ability to absorb energy from the area around him. The more magic people use around him the more of its energy he can absorb. While he does not sap the effectiveness of a spell he does become progressively more resistant to that magic. While this has no stages it does clearly become more powerful, but for now his resilience to magic he absorbs is minimal, evasion is still the best tactic.

Water purification: As is easily assumed from the name, James can purify water with his bare hands. He is capable of turning salt water into fresh water and even neutralizing poisoned water. Despite his ability to do this, he has no way of knowing if water contains any toxins, he could still accidentally ingest a poison if he does not know it's there.

Focused vision: James has excellent eyesight and this ability takes full advantage of that. By rendering his peripherals useless he is able to see much more detail at the center of his focus, effectively acting like a spyglass but eliminating the necessity of carrying one at all.

Magical Affinity: Water

New Appearance: Just imagine that there was no gun <_<

Weapon(s): The Boarding Axe: While originally crafted for cutting ropes at sea, the boarding axe was later modified to also act as a multi-purpose weapon, thus adding the spike seen in this model. It is a light weight and deadly weapon, but James is not very skilled with this and still mostly uses it as a tool over a weapon. This weapon is holstered at his hip on his belt.

The Gold Tipped Cutlass: This cutlass is shorter than most cutlasses at a length of 27 inches and is far better suited for close ranged combat than most swords. It is very lightweight and easy to use with a double edged straight blade. Its design makes it much more suited for slashes but James has sharpened his tip to be more effective with thrusts as well, making this a very well rounded sword. This weapon is holstered on his up at his left for easy access.

Ivory Handled Dirk: This Dirk is crafted as is and was originally intended as a decorative weapon, but has proven itself rather durable time and time again. With a 12 inc blade, its reach is not much grater than a large dagger and he treats it as one as well. This Dirk is holstered within his shirt at his back, keeping it slightly hidden but noticeable to the keen eye.

The Hooked Claw: This dagger is very sharp and strong, though its blade is a mere 9 inches long. The nature of its handle makes this weapon hard to use in fast paced combat and is more suited for use when an opponent is already pinned or for a surprise attack. This dagger is holstered at the ankle of his boot and strapped in tight.

Shadow Mend- A spell that can heal injuries. At its basic level, it can only heal cuts and bruises, but the more it is used, the stronger it becomes.

Infested Punch- Focuses the darkness into the user's fist and deals extra damage along with Dark damage.

Dark Cloak- A defensive spell used to ward off weak attacks and reduces damage of stronger attacks.

Shadow Leap- Focuses the dark into the feet and the user can leap great distances. Can also deal damage to foes should they surround at higher levels. Basic level is only a meter or so. The higher the level, the greater the distance.

@UnboundDestiny I see that your character has aerokinesis, just make sure that in the beginning she can't cause giant storms or stuff like that.
