Miranda retracted her hand, mostly because she was still to nervous to say anything, instead she sat and listened to their stories as different colored cars passed by them in blurry figures. She hugged her knees, bringing them up to their chest still feeling quite bad for being a bitch to Charlotte. "Yeah, I kinda misjudged her. She really is a nice person." Miranda offered in the middle of his speakings, becoming much more quiet during the darker part of Clyde's story. Sighing to herself afterwards. "But tell her I'm sorry okay?"

A small chuckle escaped her lips at Clyde's full introduction. "It was my pleasure, and I'm Miranda." She replied, before opening the door to the outside of the jewelry shop, leaving the wedding dress in the inside of the car. The shop just from outside looked posh and expensive and she glanced over towards Clyde, thinking that she would be able to pay him back with her parent's money. "Shall we?"

Before they exited the car he said. "Well I am going to see her tonight if you want to come along you are more then welcome."
Clyde got out and wandered in to the shop. He honest wasn't worried about the money he spent he wasn't poor by any stretch not really rich but he could afford this much splurging as long as he didn't rent a huge extravagant hall for an hour on short notice that would break his bank he bet. He walked up to the counter letting Miranda lead he didn't know a thing about rings.

Miranda nodded at the notion of visiting Charlotte, she guessed that a proper apology was needed. The both of them casually walking in, the inside just as posh and expensive as the outside. Multiple jewelries were showcased each with an amazing focal gem. It was only when an older man greeted them good afternoon did she look up, glancing at Clyde who wasn't really experienced with this kind of thing she turned back towards the man.

"Oh hello, I'm not sure if you remember me because I don't remember you but I may have stumbled in here while I was drunk and now I have this ring?" Miranda began, taking off her marriage finger leaving a very naked feeling where it was. The man examined the ring quietly, long enough to add a question about the price.

"Well, I don't remember you but I remember him." The old man told her pointing towards Clyde. "You were so drunk I was afraid I planned on calling the cops but after he bought the ring he left before I could say anything. Oh yeah and this ring, and most his ring they both have real pearls so they'd probably be around...I don't know, 3000? Each?"

Miranda opened her mouth slightly at the price but regained her composure. "Well, during his drunken haze did it seem like he was already married and just bought the ring or did it seem like he was buying it to get married?"

"I dunno. There's a couple of one night wedding chapels around here you could check those out if you want."

"Ah. Okay thanks for the help." Miranda said smiling although she wondered about Clyde's reaction to the price as she turned to head back towards the car.

Clyde hmmed at the info not too concerned about the price. He followed her back to the car. He grabbed a tourists map and a pen from the glove department he laid the map on the hood of his car and lit a smoke. As he puffed on it he found their location. "So we are here and these." He said as he circled some spots on the map. "Are a bunch of wedding chapels we could have gone too." He hmmed. "So I started at this casino went to this club found you. We some how got here and this is where you got your dress. Then we married some where around here Then went somewhere or maybe straight to your hotel." He said marking up the map. He let her take a look as he puffed on his smoke.

Miranda was slightly relieved that Clyde wasn't too much of a stickler about prices and things of that sort. She contemplated a smoke but nah. She listened intently to the map that they've managed to drawn up after these days. She rubbed her forehead as he passed her the map, trying her best to cog up some memory or something.

"So there's five chapels, each of them pretty far away from each other. We could probably hit two before its time to go to Charlotte's." Miranda then added, trying to re-cog her memory, being unsuccessful. "You wanna go?" Miranda asked curiously towards Clyde who was still smoking.

"Or we could just call it a day and start fresh tomorrow. I mean come on a home cooked meal by Charlotte or going to chapels. This has been a great day of information so it wouldn't be a waste to turn in." He smiled at her. He put out his smoke the astray and grabbed his phone. "Cause we at least gotta text her and tell her when we are coming so it's up to you." He opened his texts to Charlotte and offered her the phone. "Text her your choice." He went back to staring at the map trying to remember anything.

Miranda wasn't completely against stopping for now, the sun told her that it was nearing five and by the night maybe the chapels would start getting some business and won't have time for their pester. "You sure I should be the one to text her? I mean you know she's your friend and everything." Miranda thought out loud, reluctant..or embarrassed to try and be nice after the bad first impression. She eventually did it though.

"Hey, Would it be fine if Clyde and I come over this evening? - Miranda" She texted, leaving her name there just so Charlotte knew before passing it back to Clyde. "I think I need a shower before we head over there, can you drive me real quick to my hotel?" Miranda then added, seeing as they had nothing better to do until Charlotte's.

Clyde folded up the map and smiled at her. "Gladly." Clyde opened her door for her and got in the drivers side. "I can't wait for home cooked food. I am a terrible cook. If I try hard I can do it but generally it's a disaster. But Charlotte is amazing at cooking." He rambled as he drove. "Eric's really into robots right now. He's 9 so his likes change almost weekly." They got to her hotel and he got out and opened her door for her. "So whats the plan?"

Miranda laughed, remembering her little brothers and their bipolar tastes when she was around thirteen. She looked forward to meeting Eric if he had inherited Charlotte's good looks he would be a lady killer in the future, especially if Clyde was the one mentoring the boy. She told him that she was a pretty bad cook too, laughing at the trait that they shared.

When they arrived she stepped out leaning back against the car when Clyde spoke to her.

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe pick me up in a hour?" Miranda said after a moment of thought, her statement more of a suggestion. When Clyde was preoccupied when thinking about it, her attention redirected towards his lips. They were standing quite close to each other and her mind went back to the photo shoot. But it was only when she realized what she was thinking before she said her farewells and entered the hotel still pretty confused.

Clyde smiled and waved to her. She seemed more warm to him and that made him very happy. He went to his hotel showered and got dressed he had one last smoke before leaving them in his hotel cause he did not want to do that around Eric. He rooted in his suit case. He finally found it the gift he had for Eric he smiled to himself. Then drove to her hotel to get her.

Miranda went up to her hotel room, taking a long warm shower before tying her hair up like the photoshoot except a little less formal and more casual. She wondered how dinner would be like, if it resemble a family dinner. Something she hadn't had since she was seventeen. She changed into simple tight jeans and then a blouse which exposed her shoulders. And finally a few sprays of a light perfume she made her way downstairs, slipping into the car next to Clyde as he had just drove up.

Clyde smiled at her. "You look wonderful. Nervous? Charlotte won't bite. Eric might." He laughed. He checked his phone quickly then started driving. When they got to Charlotte's house he opened her door for her as always. He quickly grabbed the gift from the backseat before he forgot. And went and knocked on the door. Eric answered it. "Uncle Clyde!" Clyde smiled. "Hey there buddy." Clyde offered him a hug. "Or are you too grown up for hugs?" He lightly teased. Eric rolled his eyes and laughed. "Just this once for you uncle." Eric hugged him quickly. "This is Miranda say hi." Eric turned to her and waved. "Hi I'm Eric!" Charlotte wandered out of the kitchen Clyde wandered over and gave her a hug.

"Just a tad." Miranda admitted after the witty introduction. She glanced as he checked his phone, looking out at the colorfully-illuminated skyline from the car's window, something she never really got tired of. It wasn't long before the arrived in the decent neighborhood thanking Clyde for the door like usual. Waiting at the door and smiling seeing the gift, even laughing a little as Clyde hid it behind his back while the very familiar looking Eric hugged him.

Miranda came inside, closing the door behind her crouching to the little kid's level, matching the geeky smile he wore. "Hi Eric. I'm your Uncle's...friend. You look so much like your mother." Miranda told him, pausing due to the fact she wasn't sure what was going on between them. She was Charlotte appear from the doorway and stood up walking over to her.

"Hey Charlotte..Uh sorry for at the diner, it was pretty uncalled for..Ahah." Miranda apologized, the words coming out kinda awkwardly but surely thye came out. She scratched the back of her head before changing the subject. "Your son is adorable."

Eric saw the present. "What's that uncle!?" Clyde laughed "your too sharp I was gonna try to surprise you with it. It's your birthday present know it's late but I remembered." Eric beamed Clyde gave him the gift he tore it open it was two toys Godzilla and a robot. "Hope you like it." "It's awesome!!!!" Eric hugged Clyde and ran off to play. "Oh that's plenty fine darling. Yeah Eric's fantastic. When he isn't sassy me." She said with a chuckle. Eric ran back in his arms full of toys. "Uncle Miranda! Look at my toys." Clyde sat down on the carpet with Eric and started to play with him. Charlotte laughed. "That's my boys." She joked.

Miranda looked back at Clyde who kept Eric company well, entertaining the small little boy ever so well. A warm feeling came over her and she couldn't help but have the biggest smile, Miranda even almost forgot that Charlotte was there. She turned back, still a little bit cheeky. Clyde and Eric were adorable together. The smell of the home cooking reached her, and from so far Miranda could tell that it was amazing.

"You need any help in the kitchen or setting up the table? Miranda offered towards Charlotte laughing a little. "We can leave the boys to play until dinner."

Clyde and Eric were having an epic battle of Godzilla vs a robot army. Charlotte smiled at her. "Any help is wanted." Charlotte lead her into the kitchen. "It's just a simple meal tonight roast beef gravy mash potatoes salad. Do you want to work on the potatoes or the salad?" Charlotte checked the roast beef in the oven.

"Potatoes I guess." Miranda said not really caring which as long as it gave some kinda relief to the awkward feeling that she had in her stomach. She went over to the table, taking one from the bowl and prepping it quietly, it was only after a while before she said anything else.

"How did you cope with getting out of a shitty marriage?" Miranda asked, seeing as she had no idea herself and Charlotte had dealt with it before.

"So Clyde told you? I had Eric he is a little beacon of hope. Clyde too. Clyde stayed here for 2 weeks making sure we were safe letting me stop and cry being my shoulder to cry on. Or just take days to myself. He kept Eric from getting upset over the loss of his dad. It really helped that my ex was a complete scum bag. I sound mean but it's true. Why hurt over someone not worth your hurt. Ya know?" Charlotte turned to her and smiled. "But it's person to person. Some people like to jump right back into the saddle and start dating and some take really long to recover. My sister says that a good long cry to a sad sad song that you can sing like a howling cat is the best medicine. Let me tell you to the ears its not." She smiled and laughed. She finished up the salad and set it on the table.

"Oh yeah, sorry. He did. Only today though." Miranda apologized, annoyed at herself for coming off a little bit inconsiderate. She thought about Charlotte's wisdom-imbued words for a moment. Was she the one who would start dating right away? At least when she's drunk she was. Or was this feeling with Clyde just some kind of odd thing formed by their married status? Miranda was so lost in thought she almost forgot that she was basically done with the potatoes. She picked up the bowl, turning towards Charlotte who had just finished setting up the salad.

"So do I just put it on the table or..?" Miranda asked her, since it was Charlotte's dinner. Miranda contemplated asking more questions about Clyde but she held them back for now, the beef would probably be ready soon.

"Yes please. If I am being super honest. I can tell you feel something for Clyde don't stress it. If you need time tell him. But if you had something bad happen before let something good happen now. Get a divorce but don't leave each other. Clyde is just as confused and scared. But I have over stepped my boundaries and the roast beef is done." Charlotte took out the roast beef. "Boys!" She called. "And no robots or Godzillas at the table!" "But moommm" both boys called jokingly. They wandered in. "Oh I am excited for this!" Clyde said a huge grin on his face. "Wash your hands you two." "Last one to the bathroom has to be the robot army!" Clyde said. They ran off. Charlotte smiled and cut up the roast beef putting a piece on everyone's plate two on Clyde. They walked back in arguing over who won they stopped and smiled at Charlotte who was glaring at them. "I'll behave." Clyde said. Eric just stuck out his tongue at Clyde and sat in his seat they all sat down and enjoy the meal with pleasant conversation.
