  — Masaru Ikeda is our darling outcast of the group. One could categorize him as a dandere. He doesn't usually let his true colors show, preferring to hide them behind a façade. His job at Dizuni Park is to portray a famous character who is named "Prince Ruza". // Played by -Vesper-

  — Hachirou Shiraki is our "wolf in sheep's clothing". Don't let his innocuous appearance and attitude fool you because he could snap at any moment if it involves a loved one, much like a yandere.   — Akiko Tachibana is the best friend of Aria, and Okushiri's resident female tsundere. Much like Akihiko, she's of the high social class and such upbringing shows throughout her daily actions.   — Setsuna Iori is the landlady for Aria and Yuuta, who live in the same apartment complex. She is a woman who is always about business, but doesn't shy away from socializing with her tenants and being there for them.   Aria's father comes from a rich, successful family with a high standing in society. Aria's mother was of a common working class family. But, the two fell in love and wanted to marry each other. That didn't sit well with her father's parents and thus denied the chance for them to marry. However, Aria came into the picture as a surprise. It caused Aria's grandparents to ban her mother from seeing her father, but Aria was allowed to see her father.
  
  Aria grew up sometimes living with her rich father and sometimes with her poor mother. Her relationship with her father was always very formal, but secretly he did love her very much and would try to show it in secret. Aria was still happy though, she got to feel what it was like to live in two different worlds. Although her father couldn't see her mother, he still loved her and would show his love by secretly giving money to support Aria and her mother. It wasn't a lot because it couldn't tip off his parents, but it was enough for an apartment.
  
  However, everything changed when Aria was playing outside when she was 12. A drunk driver swerved off the road and came straight for Aria. Aria's mother quickly ran for her daughter, wrapped her arms around her little girl and with no other time to rush out of the way, she got hit by the car. Aria only suffered a cut on her hand, which left a scar. But, her mother got seriously injured. Ever since then Aria's mother has been in a wheelchair. Though, the doctor's do say that one day she may be able to walk again, but she hasn't been able to do that for 9 years already. It was after then that Aria needed to learn how to help take care of everything for her mother.
  
  They moved into an apartment that could handle her wheelchair and Aria started to take care of most of the chores in the house. Her mother believes that she didn't spend much time with school work and learning and that's why she has trouble in many subjects even in her older years.
  
  Unfortunately, Aria's father was also forced to marry someone else that he didn't love and had two other children. One is slightly younger than Aria, who is stuck up and believes she is better than everyone. The other is only 10 years old and looks up to Aria a lot. Aria still visits and plays with her younger sister. Her stepmother, though, doesn't like Aria at all and usually tries to make her leave or feel like she doesn't belong there.
  
  Eventually, Aria grew older over time and graduated high school. She decided to head to college, with a bit of payment from her father as well. However, she could tell that they were still struggling with money even with her mother having a receptionist job near their apartment that she was able to do in her wheelchair. So, Aria thought she should get a job to help pay for college and their other expenses. She tried a few places, but she didn't have anything that really made her stand out from other candidates. Finally, she was able to get a job playing a princess at Dizuni Park.

  Plays Princess Nami, a Japanese Disney princess who was forced into a marriage with an evil wizard, controlling her family with magic. When she tried to run away, she meant a prince who fell in love with the princess. However, the evil wizard found her and locked her away in her room. She wouldn't be able to come out until they were married and he became King. The prince found out, and thus wanted to help her. He helps her escape then they take down the evil wizard together, married and live happily ever after.

  She loved her mother and will do anything for her. Her mother wants Aria to work more for herself instead of her mother, but Aria usually doesn't listen. They are very close and spend a lot of time together.
  
  Kasumi Ando | Sister:
  Aria's younger sister by a few years. They do not get along, mostly because of Kasumi. She doesn't like Aria and tries to push her out of the family. She also believes she's better than everyone. In return, she is one of the few people that Aria isn't fond of.
  
  Mizuki Ando | Sister:
  Aria's other younger sister who she adores. They are close, much better than they are to Kasumi. She plays with Mizuki ever since she was born. They get together and go out to have fun a lot of days.

  Aria's stepmother doesn't like Aria and tries to keep her away from the family. She's mean to her and treats her poorly. She is one of the few people that Aria doesn't like as well, just like her other sister.

  PERSONALITY:
  Masaru has a habit of hiding behind an emotional mask, preferring to adopt the persona of a fictional character he identifies with instead of being himself. It makes him feel safe and lends him the self-esteem he lacks on his own. As such, it can be quite difficult to get to know what he's really like unless he's caught out-of-character, and even then, he is incredibly shy, awkward and withdrawn. It takes a lot of trust to get him to come out of his shell comfortably.
  
  STRENGTHS:
  Masaru has an active imagination, gets along really well with children, and never gets tired of playing games. When he's allowed to act like someone else, he tends to take on a persona that lets the best parts of his personality shine through. He's very open-minded and tries his best to be understanding in any circumstance.
  
  WEAKNESSES:
  Masaru starts to feel shy, anxious and exposed when he is forced to be himself. He can be hard to reason with in these sorts of situations, as his only focus is on his fear of being seen or approached by others. The type of high-functioning autism he was born with -- while not nearly severe enough to have an impact on his ability to learn -- can make it a bit harder for him to grasp certain social concepts, so his reactions and interactions do come across as a little strange sometimes.
  
  LIKES:
  Masaru's most favorite movie is the animated film "Paradise Pond". If he never needed to eat anything else to stay healthy, he would have dessert for every meal of the day and wash it all down with nothing but sweet fruit smoothies. He has a passion for fashion and things that make people look pretty. Rainbows, butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. If unicorns were real, those would be on the list too. He absolutely loves all kinds of cute animals; if it's small, soft or fluffy, it's safe to say he will want to hug it. He also thinks children are great because they aren't afraid to say whatever's on their mind. They are usually honest about their feelings -- even if kids can be cruel -- it puts Masaru's mind at ease to know that they aren't hiding any hateful thoughts behind a false smiling face.
  
  DISLIKES:
  Masaru hates to hear when people are fighting; defensively he gets quiet and tries to tuck himself away in small spaces, like the bathroom or a broom closet, to stay safe from the screaming. Spiders scare him, roaches are even worse; he almost loses his mind at the sight of them, and he will not be able to sleep at all unless the knows they've been dealt with. Oh and, banana's are nasty. He will not eat them no matter what. No way. But he enjoys a good bowl of banana pudding, just without the banana part -- go figure.
  
  FEARS:
  At his core, Masaru is afraid of being judged and being treated badly because of it. His fear can also manifest as a mistrust of strangers and often makes him nervous about getting noticed by others, especially if he's feeling exposed or otherwise vulnerable in some way.

  HAIR:
  Somewhat wavy with a side fringe concealing one half of his face. His natural hair color is actually black, but he always had a passion for dying it fun, festive colors. His recent obsession with a certain animated character has made him loyal to sticking with shades between blue and purple.
  
  EYES:
  Large, solemn, lonely blue eyes. When engaged with something that brings him happiness or joy, they become wide with child-like wonder. At other times, they will keep wandering curiously until his attention is caught.
  
  FASHION STYLE:
  In his heart, he loves to dress up with all sorts of styles; Masaru only manages to follow his heart's desire when he adopts another persona though. As just an ordinary boy, he does not feel confident enough to wear anything fashionable, so he chooses to dress in loose, unremarkable looking outfits that help him blend into the background and go unnoticed by others. A wall-flower when forced to be himself, but a fashionista when allowed to play pretend.

  In school, Masaru was often bullied because of his oddities and unusual attitude; it got to the point that he began skipping classes whenever he could get away with it. In time, his truancy became far too frequent for him to continue his education in a traditional setting, so he stopped going there altogether. At home, he made up for it by studying online and later passed the High School Equivalency Test, but after that, he remained living with his parents and never pursued any interests outside of the house. He soon slipped into a hikikomori lifestyle -- a recluse who sheltered himself in the comfort of anime, manga and video games for lack of a social life -- the only friends he ever made were on the internet, met through roleplaying forums or in MMOs.
  
  Masaru might've felt safe from the harsh world in his private little hideout, but it was a gilded cage and he was not happy there. He was lonely. Still, he was too scared to go outside, to see other people, to let other people see him. It wasn't until he watched a certain animated movie made by Studio Jubilee that things changes. Something about the film's story struck a chord with him. He strongly identified with the main character in the movie, and shortly afterward, he had constructed his first cosplay. Masaru was so proud of his project that he felt the need to show it off in front of others. For the first time he stepped outside again, it was so he could attend a convention is full cosplay. It was such an empowering experience, he kept on doing it, eventually won an award for best in show, and was approached by a person who worked at Dizuni Park, who asked him if he had any interest in perhaps playing that same character at their theme park. Of course, he said yes.
  
  The next day, he applied for the part, was hired on the spot and Masaru has been working his dream job ever since. Much to the delight of his parents, who had always hoped to see their son smiling again someday.

  The film "Paradise Pond" is based on the old poem above, plus other assorted stories about the allegedly unknown prince; like many fairy-tales in their original form, the story is quite grim, lamenting the life of an exiled prince who drowns himself in a pond to find peace from his miserable existence. Studio Jubilee decided to use the story to convey a message of hope to those who might have thoughts of suicide.
  
  In the film, Prince Ruza's face is always obscured in his own world because the audience is meant to believe he is unsightly in some way. He finds the aforementioned pond, which then reflects an ideal image of his face, and once he enters the water, it literally leads him into another world unlike his own; his physical body is shown suspended underneath the water where dark spirits circle around him as he sleeps. Meanwhile, his mind is transported to a strange and exciting place where plenty of adventures and new friendships await him. The longer he stays there though, the closer the dark spirits get to destroying his physical form which remains inanimate in the pond they occupy.
  
  A few of the friends he has made in the paradise world start to show signs of disappearing under a dark veil themselves, and it is revealed that they too exist outside of this place like Ruza does, but they slipped under the spell of a reflective portal just as he did. For a split second, Ruza "wakes up" in the water to see that the pond he is in was never empty, but full of other sleeping people floating around him. He then watches as one of his best friends beside him is preyed upon by a dark spirit; he tries to swim over and struggles to pull his friend to the surface, but the boy only opens his eyes slightly to tell Ruza to let him go, then the boy is quickly consumed by the spirit that rips him away. Watching in horror, Ruza feels his own body becoming heavier and he starts to sink deeper into the dark below, where even more spirits swarm around his soon unconscious form.
  
  Returning to the paradise dream, Ruza and his remaining friends again encounter the boy who has just died, but now he has no shadow and no emotions except a sedated calmness and an ever-present smile on his face. Some of them feel unsettled by this display and wish to wake up before they become like him, while others start to feel that maybe it's better to stay behind and be happy like the boy who died. At the end of the film, Ruza's real body is woken in the water by another friend of his, then the both of them dive to the deepest pit in the bottomless pond, where they find their female friend fighting to get free from the torrent of dark spirits trying to consume her. Together, the three friends destroy these spirits and see that other sleeping people have begun to wake up around them. They all go to the surface, at last escaping the enchanted pond. The friends laugh and embrace and Prince Ruza finally reveals his face, which looks exactly as it did in the dream now that he is happy.

♛ ┆ ( PERSONALITY )

[ Sweet & Enchanting ] This is partly something that corresponds to his cute appearance, but people are drawn to him. He has a sugary sweet personality outwards, showing his cute smiles to anyone who'll look. He loves the attention that he gets from people - be it guys or girls. He has this air about him, and loves when people think he's cute and adorable. He draws people in with his charms, which is something he's acutely aware of. He simply basks in all of the attention, wanting to be pampered more than anything, whether it be by his friends or a potential love interest. He has been the type of person to stand in the middle of things sincehe was very young, and it's something he's long gotten used to.

[ Affectionate & Needy ] As it's probably evident, his use of charms to get attention is partly from the fact that he's a needy person. He needs attention and for people to validate him. It's something he'd rather die than admit, but he knows it deep down. As surprising as it is, though, he's not possessive, and will accept attention from just about anyone. As far as he has experienced, he has yet to be attached to a single person; even his current crush doesn't hold that special place in his heart where he wants to be possessive of them, leading him to doubt that he'll ever be able to fall in love with another person. As a person who loves showing and recieving affection, that makes him melancholic from time to time, thinking that he's maybe not meant to find that someone. Regardless of that, he's happy with his life as it is, hoping that his current lifestyle will continue.

[ Cunning and Seductive ] There's another side of Akihiko that most people wouldn't notice. While he seems like a sweet, gentle person on the outside, he's well aware of why he's able to drag people's attention towards him. He wants as much attention as he can get, and therefore spends most of his time using his appearance to his own advantage. He loves to be surrounded by people, even if he has to lie about how he really feels in order to please them. It's to the point where he can convince people to do favors for him without trouble. He realizes that sometimes, this might be a bad thing, but he never wishes to hurt anyone with what he's doing. He simply enjoys it when people do things for him, like bring him lunch or carry his books, like anyone would. The only difference is, perhaps, that people do these things for him without him even having to ask.

From early on in his life, Akihiko has been well off - much like his name would suggest. He grew up in the expensive neighborhood of Azabu with his parents in a large apartment. His life has been eventful from the start, from fancy dinners to traveling all over the world with his parents. He has always dragged the attention of people around him, especially after starting in school. For a while, he was fine with just that, but one day, he realized that a lot of people were trying to get close to him because of his money. He's always been the type of person to get what he wants. Not just because he has money, but because he's determined. It was like a dream come true; he could get to act like a prince all day and no one would call him selfish for it. That's when he was old enough to move out. He had started college, and balancing that life with his work at Dizuni Park wasn't easy, but he loved his job. He's currently taking arts and design as his majors; his big dream in the future is to become a designer. With his job at the park as well as a little help from his savings, he managed to buy an apartment in the much desired Omotesando district in Tokyo. With his work in Dizuni Park in Okushiri, he has a pretty good life going on, if he should say so himself. Everything was going smoothly until he met her.

He was drawn in by Aria's simple way of life. She did everything she could, even without being the best. And boy, was she cute. For a long time, Akihiko had gone thinking that romance was impossible, but just that once, his heart pounded. Eventually, he figured out that four other guys thought the exact same way as he did. As he listened to their feelings, heard about their motivations, he started to doubt himself more, and more. Even now, he's not sure. Is this just infatuation, or is he truly in love with Aria?

They might have this rivalry going on, but no one wishes to upset Aria. That kind of mutual goal lead to the most of them developing this odd friendship. It would be useless to hate on each other when they have to work at the same place, too, and they've gotten to this level of respect for one another that enables them to work in the same space without problems. For now, Aria has yet to express any kind of romantic feelings towards any of them, but Akihiko has a feeling that she will, one day.
He has many "friends" in school and at work that aren't involved with Aria, but it's rare that he ever lets these people close to him. While they are aquaintances, he doesn't consider them to be close friends. With the troubles he has trusting people, it's hard for him to make good friends. He doesn't want to be betrayed by a friend.

[ Crush(es) ] For now, Akihiko has found his gaze drawn by the cute and sweet Aria, although he's not the only one to have these feelings. For a long time, he has wondered how far he's willing to take these feelings, as inexperienced as he is with love. He likes the way things are now, without Aria picking any of them, but he knows that that can't last forever. If anything, she could also reject all of them, and pick none. At this point, Akihiko isn't quite confident in himself. He's surrounded by people, but somehow, Aria seems out of reach for him.
For Akihiko, Aria probably isn't the only person that he is attracted to, although he is shy to admit otherwise. When he looks at the other boys fighting for her attention, some of them catch his attention more than others. At this point, he's too much of a coward to even allow himself to admit which one of them it is. Mostly because he is scared that they will end up with Aria, and then he will lose two crushes at once.

[ Family ] Akihiko has a really good relationship with his family. He has an older sister who's a full 10 years older than himself, and she's always taken care of him. His parents are kind and good people, despite their fame. The Miyamoto family has been rich for generations, but both of his parents respect the practice of the family line and would never do anything to sully their name. Akihiko feels the same. Thankfully, his family is unconventional in terms of heirs, and the next heir will be his sister, Reiko. That has given Akihiko a freedom in his life that his sister didn't get to have. Even then, Akihiko knows that his sister wants to honor the family, and he's always been proud of her. Not many of his friends know about her, for the simple reason that she's in training to become heir, and often goes out traveling to meet with business partners. He kind of wants his sister to himself. Sometimes, she'll come visit her parents or Akihiko and then they'll have dinner together and talk about the good old times.
As for more distant family, he has an aunt and cousin, the cousin of which, Haruki, he sees quite often. They don't appear to be family members at first sight; Haruki is tall and practical in both the way he dresses and carries himself, and Akihiko is petite and cares about his appearance and fashion more than anything. Despite that, the two of them get along really well. He always comes over to Akihiko's house to hang out, and even if their personalities clash, they have really great moments together. It's the most enjoyable thing about their relationship.

[ Appearance ] Akihiko isn't the tallest of boys, standing at only 168cm. He's lean and slim and weighs about 45kg. His hair is a beautiful light blonde color, his eyes shining an alluring purple. He has gentle face features, very round for a boy and especially one the age that he is. Most mistake him from a 12-year old when he's working and he has to inform them that he is, in fact, not a child worker. His skin is fair and completely spotless, and he's got no birth marks or scars. He usually keeps his hair tamed down with side bangs and then his fringe just barely reaching the upper half of his eyes. He has long eyelashes for a guy, as well as small hands and feet.

At work he naturally dresses up as a prince or in other royal clothes (sometimes, he's even played a princess), and some of that style seeps through to his casual clothing. Hachirou stands at a height of 5'9", or about 175 cm. Compared to other males his age, he's on the shorter side of the spectrum. It doesn't help that he's considerably light as well, only weighing 108 lbs, or 49 kg. His body structure is slender, yet he does have some muscle from the occasional workout that he does. The young man's skin is free of any and all blemishes. It has a light complexion and is creamy in color, which makes his eyes and hair stand out. Hachirou's hair is a bright orange that classifies him as a "ginger". It stops at the nape of his neck and frames his face nicely. Besides its vivid color, it is also styles in a way to make it seem messy, which works for him. His bangs fall into his eyes, which are a bright, oceanic blue that showcase all of his emotions.

Hachi's fashion style can be described as "casual" and, maybe, "sporty". Anything that he deems comfortable will adorn his body. That being said, you can usually find him in sneakers, jeans, and a T-Shirt. Nothing too fancy. The only time he wears extravagant clothing is during special occasions, or when he's at work since he sometimes plays as a prince. Natsuko and Ryuu Shiraki were two adults who bit off more than they could chew when they decided to have nine children—eight boys and one girl. Hachirou Shiraki is the eighth child out of nine and was born in Iwasaki, Japan, while his other seven brothers were born in Urakawa, Japan. Apparently, his parents decided to move because they had more family in Iwasaki who could help out with the eight of them. And help they did. Because of the extra hands, it didn't seem so difficult to take care of eight children.

Hachirou was able to be in the spotlight for a year. Only a year. All of his other brothers had two years to be fawned over. With the exception of the eldest brothers who actually had five. It wasn't all that upsetting, at first. With Natsuko's and Ryuu's luck, they were bound to get another boy. But fate decided to bless them (and curse Hachi) with a baby girl, who they named Haruka. Instantly, she gained all of the attention, and had it for quite a while, unlike her siblings. She was considered to be special since she was the only girl. She was the "princess among princes", "daddy's little girl", and the "apple of their parents eye" amongst other things. In other words, she was their—and majority of their family's—world. Even his brothers spent more time with her than with Hachi. As the years went by, Hachi began to feel smaller and smaller until it felt like he wasn't even there anymore. Although people still paid attention to him, it wasn't the attention that he wanted. It was nothing compared to what Haruka received, and such a fact started a hatred inside of Hachi for majority of his family—especially his younger sister.

Unbeknownst to everyone, such feelings of loneliness and hatred at such a young age changed something inside of the ginger mentally. He began to show signs of developing certain disorders and phobias, but no one took notice. Or they brushed it off as him just being a kid. After all, the ages from one to five were strange ones, so they labelled it as him being just that. Strange.

Life took a drastic turn when the Shiraki parents lost their own in a car accident. The Shiraki children were all so young at the time. Their ages ranged from being sophomores in college to just beginning elementary school. Natsuko and Ryuu ended up leaving five of their kids to fend for themselves since their eldest were triplets and twenty years old.

That being said, those five children was split amongst the Shiraki family. Hachirou and Haruka was taken in by their grandmother, Hana. She had instantly snatched the two up when they were trying to figure out who would live with who. Hachi was glad; he had always liked their grandmother, after all. What put a huge damper on his mood, though, was the fact that Hana had also taken Haruka in, too. In the beginning, they didn't get along, and his dislike for her was more obvious since it was only them two. But a certain event opened up Hachi's eyes. One fateful night found Haru curled up next to Hachi as a storm brewed in their area. The loud clapping of the thunder, the shake it caused, and the flash of the lightning all fed Haru's fear as she pressed closer to Hachi. Wrapping his arms around his sister, he cooed sweet nothings into her ear and ran a hand through her hair, calming her as best as he could. At that moment, he realized that this was it. They only had each other, besides Hana. And he imagined how Haru must feel to be hated by the only brother she had now. That night, he changed his mind and his heart. From that night forward, he strove to be a model big brother, much to both his grandmother's and Haruka's delight.

He started working at the age of sixteen. He bounced from job to job, but finally found his place at Dizuni Park. With his paychecks, grandmother's help, and what was left for him by his parents, he was able to move out and find his own place once he graduated high school. It's close to the college the he attends now, which is located in the Azuma District. He has to take the train to go to work, and to visit his grandmother, who also lives in the Kita District. Haruka moved in with him once she graduated high school and is currently living with him. They attend the same college as well.

Life has been going pretty well for the ginger. Now, it's even better! Ever since Aria had entered his life, things have been brighter and better.

Despite coming from a well to do family, her life with her family is very difficult because of various problems. She was supposed to be left in the care of her mother who has also re-married and now has a new family of her own but she refused. Akiko was too afraid to be with her mother because her mother has become pregnant again and she fears that she will not fit in and would just be a burden to them. At first it was hard for Akiko, living alone in a luxurious apartment given to her by her step-father, especially when she's used to living like a princess but she soon got used to it. How many times had he heard that in his life. He never applied himself to things he found unnecessary to enjoy life. And well, school wasn't necessary. Everything was business this, and money that. You'll never get a good job, you'll end up on the streets, you'll be a loser. Loser? HE's only a loser if he feels he's a loser. He only felt that way when he wasn't free.

Since his childhood, Yuuta has always loved the world. It's beauty, it's animals, it's people... Most of it's people. Growing up, his father was a business man, and his mother a teacher. More specifically his teacher. He was always pressured to do better, more harshly by his father, and gently by his mother, especially when they discovered he was quite intelligent. But they were clearly disappointed every time he would shirk off work to do what ever he wanted. He only did the bare minimum as time went on, until high school. Eventually, he dropped out of high school, after figuring that nothing else of importance needed to be taught. His father shunned him, his mother still wrote to him(though pestering him to get back to schooling). During this time he had picked up the guitar, which accented his pleasant singing voice well. He got an apartment, making friends with the land lord. This is why he hasn't been thrown out yet, though she is constantly pushing him for rent, which in turn, he quickly makes his escape. This is how he met Aria, actually. While fleeing for his life, he passed by her. Time seemed to slow down for him at that moment.   Akiko Tachibana: Makoto isn't sure what he did right, but apparently he did it. Akiko is one of his best friends, possibly his best. For how blunt and aggressive she can be, Makoto found it surprising that she didn't try to snap his head off. But apparently being professional to her was the right move. Makoto will usually go to Akiko first out of all his friends, be it for advice, entertainment, whatever. Makoto is usually the first to step up for Akiko if anything crops up, and discharges most bad mouthed rumors from turned down guys or jealous girls. Setsuna seems extremely business oriented. Setsuna has definitely grown as a person since high school. It's actually a bit of a surprise she managed to graduate. You see, Setsuna, while her upbringing was very well, made plenty of poor decisions. She hung out with the wrong crowd and did a lot of the wrong things. Her past is something she deeply regrets, often being the source of her nightmares. But nothing haunts her more than one of her biggest mistakes.

She was not the wisest girl in high school, and neither was her boyfriend at that time. He was known for being trouble, being brought in to the police time and time again, and of course, Setsuna was often close behind. Well, one day, the two... Well, they were young teenagers. And Setsuna needed a wake up call. She got one.

This moment opened her eyes, how stupid she had been. She couldn't keep living like this. She began cutting her ties, with everything from her previous life. Even her boyfriend. He however, did not appreciate this. About seven months later, he came to find her again. She wouldn't come back. And he wouldn't let her leave. She doesn't remember much, but she woke up in the hospital, alone. She was supposed to have another with her. Apparently, they did not make it out alive. It's haunted her from this day.

But after, she has managed to turn her life around, has a decent paying job, and is well respected by her tenants. But her life still remains a part of her. Haunting her dreams, and keeping her up at night.

Hayato grew up in a farm runned and owned by his grandparents, as a result, he too had develop a love for animals and wanted to take care of them too. But his grandparent's had other things in mind for Hayato—since they want him to enjoy the prime of his youth—after he graduated middle school he was then immediately sent to the city to live with his aunt (Hayato's mother's sister) so he can enjoy himself while he is still young. Bunko is rather socially awkward, preferring books to people, but does pull away from fantasy to help others find their own magical worlds to dive into. Many of Bunko's relationships end due to her not feeling worthy of their attention, which would annoy them to the point of leaving her. Manami was born on the coldest day of the year, with many feel of snow piling up around her home. Her mother had chosen to have her at home, since it would be too dangerous to try traveling to the hospital at that point of the snow storm. At first, the Shimizu family wasn't even sure if she was going to make it, since Manami had caught a chill and nothing they did could seem to warm her. It was during all the atempts that they came up with her name. Even being a new born, Manami was very affection, cuddling up closer to whomever was holding her. It was a scary first few days, but Manami pulled through and the family could get her to a doctor to do all the post birth checks. She was fairly healthy, however due to the chill she caught shortly after birth, Manami easily got sick. For the first winter and early spring, Manami was very weak. Her parents knew there was nothing they could do, but hope for the best for their new baby. Manami's big brother, however, had taken to calling her a snow princess and reasoned that she was so weak was because she had to control all the snow in their town. This did help lift the sprites in the house. Once it had become warmer and all the snow was gone, Manami was as strong and healthy as any other new born her age. That was how Manami spent her early life, being a normal healthy baby during the warmer months, and then a weak and frail one during the colder months. After each winter, she would get stronger, but it didn't stop her parents fear. By the time she was five years old, Manami's parents had banned her from leaving the house during winter, since they felt they could keep her warm inside. The small child didn't want to tripped inside while the other kids got to play in the snow, so one day she snuck out. She made sure to wear everything she saw her brother wear and went to play. It was okay for the first hour or so, but soon Manami had gotten lost and with everything covered in white, she couldn't figure her way home. As she walked around, she slipped down a hill that had a jagged rock. It cut deep into the back of her leg, causing her to scream so loud, her older brother could find her. From then on, Manami's parents were ten times as strict with her, hardly letting her leave their sight. To help calm her boredom, they gave Manami many books to read, ranging from preschool books to young adult novels. That was her life for the longest, go to school, then straight home to read books. As much as she wanted to enjoy the winter wonderland they get, since she knew she was strong enough now to handle it, Manami's parents refused, too scared of losing their little girl. By the time she was in high school, Manami had started to resent her parents for not giving her even the smallest freedoms. However, because she had spent most of her life at home, Manami didn't feel safe enough to rebel with other students. The only light in her darkness, was her big brother Hiroyuki. He didn't treat her as fragile as her parents did and worked with her on ways to get some more freedoms. One in the way of a computer with access to the internet. With this, Manami was able to have a social life that her parents felt was safe. The young teenager used this to get to know her classmates more closely and form connections with them. However, once they learned it was her, most of them would make fun of her for being 'that weird kid that never comes to winter classes'. Things had gotten worse when Manami thought she found a group of girls that liked her and they had set up to meet during lunch at school. In front of the whole school, they completely rejected her and made it clear how they really felt. After that, Manami had stopped talking to anyone outside her family, and dove even deeper into her books. It was like this until senior year, when Manami had been focusing on her college appulactions. Hiroyuki had been moved out of the house for years and moved to the city to have a more sociable life, as well as work on his career as a doctor. He had came to visit to tell his family about some important news: Him and his wife were excepting! By the end of the visit, he saw how unhappy his baby sister was with her life and spoke to her in the best way he knew: With a new book. The book was about how dragon had lived all its life alone in a cave, longing for companionship, but was too scared of what the world was like outside of his cave. After many years of thinking about it, the dragon said that he would die one day and it was up to him if he would die a long time from now, but safe or die tomorrow and knew he tried to find companionship. Manami took the message close to heart and got started on a plan. She knew her parents would be against her going to college far from home, but that was what she needed. She needed a place to start fresh and have people judge her for her own merit and not based on her high school life. So, after applying and being accepted into a college in Okushiri, Manami had asked her brother and sister-in-law if they help her find somewhere to live. After much aguring, Hiroyuki said he would help her into an apartment as long as she got a guard dog and would come to him or his wife if she needed anything. With everything planned, Manami waited until she finished high school to leave. On the night of her departure, she wrote her parents a long note telling them what she was doing that she would be safe, but not to find her to force her home. Once in Okushiri, Manami went to find a guard dog and fell in love with a german sherpard puppy, she took her home and named her after an english book she read. The toughest part of her whole plan was one she didn't share with her brother, she didn't want to use her name anymore. Every time she heard it, it reminded her about why she was trapped at home and started thinking of an other name. In the end, it was simple, find a name that goes with her passion. And so, from that day forward, she would call herself Bunko, now truly feeling she was getting a fresh start. After two years, Bunko is still happily living on her own, now working things out with her parents and working on her own problems. On top of work and college of course.
