Ingrid nodded, watching him cook quietly. "I slept ok.. What about you?" She asked softly, finally letting the pillow go to sit at the dining table when he served up the food. The minute they both got comfy and began to eat, the door bell rung a few times. Ingrid blinked and looked up at David with that 'Who could that be?' look on her face.

David shrugged and said "I slept find." as he sat down and took a bite out of his food. Looking at the door as the bell was rung. "I'm not sure who it is, let me check." He'd put his breakfast down and got up, heading towards the door. He'd grab the handle, unlock it and open the door open. Saying "Good morning." to whoever was waiting.

Ingrid's mother was stood by the door, with the two police officiers behind her. "Morning.. I'm really rather sorry to bother you so early.. But we're looking for a little girl, she's my daughter, quite short with long brown hair, you haven't seen her, have you?" She asked, able to hear the small prayer in her voice. Hearing her Mother's voice, Ingrid padded to the door and just smiled like nothing was wrong.

"Hi mom" She said, moving herself next to David, half cut off by the woman pulling her close to her and holding her tight. "Don't you just 'hi' me young lady, I've been worried sick!..." The woman sighed, not letting go. "I'm ok, this is David. He's nice" Ingrid said simply, smiling back up to David. The woman looked up and smiled, offering out her hand. "I'm Rochell.. Thank you so much for taking care of her."

David smiles back and gently shakes Rochell's hand "Nice to meet you, and it was no problem. I was going to get her home after we eat breakfast, but seems like you are already here." More new people, he comes him feeling a littler nervous and the possible social awkwardness that may follow. He'd then open the door up wider and said "You're all welcome to come inside, I could make some breakfast for everyone if you're hungry." His hair was kind of a mess, since he didn't bother fixing it up from when he got out of bed, it seems people have a knack of coming over when he's unprepared.

Rochell smiled at his offer and shook her head. "You're lovely, sweetie. But.. no.. We've got to get home. We have an few long errands today.. I just needed to know she was safe first" She said softly, keeping Ingrid close to her side, tucked up against her hip. "I need to at least do something to thank you.." Rochell murmured, almost thinking out loud to herself, Ingrid then tugging on her "hmm?" "He likes Art. I saw him painting yesterday, it was really pretty" Ingrid smiled, oping that would give her mother an idea. Ad it did, you could even see her eyes light up the same way. "I know just the thing then~" She chuckled slightly, flitering through her pockets to find some sort of ticket.

"Y'see, my husband aided the art gallery in the city, More of a.. charity event if anything. If you like, ytou could bring anything along you've made and we'll slide them into the auction for you, if not, just come look around" Rochell mentioned as she offered the ticket out to him. "It opens at 7 but the main auction doesn't start til around half 8, pretty late, I know, but I do hope you'll make it" She smiled again, looking down to see Ingrid having a big beaming grin on her face. "Please come, ok~?" Ingrid giggled, tucking herself up against David for another hug "Thanks for Breakfast" She smiled, Rocheel just watching like any loving mother would, often pulling the back of her dress because David looked slightly awkward, bless him.

David nodded and said "Alright, I understand. I hope everything you all have to do today gos well." Smiling as he was about to speak up about her needing to do something for him, he was just about to say "That won't be needed." But before he could even open his mouth Ingrid seemed to have hatched up a idea. Blinking as he watched the exchange of words between the mother and child. His mind couldn't help but wonder what they had in store for him. He silently nodded along and paid attention as Rochell spoke once again, mentioning the art gallery and that some of his art could be put up for auction. His smile got a bit wider as he gently accepted the ticket.

"Oh, thank you." Hearing the time and quickly checking if he'd be able to make it, and he was pretty sure he was opened for that time frame. Though his train of thought was knocked off course when little Ingrid talked, seeming to really want him to come. Blinking a bit at the sudden hug, and gently hugged her back and patted her on the head, saying "Guess I don't have much choice then, I'll be glad to come." During the hug he had noticeably stiffened up a bit, he was going to take him a while to get used to this.

Ingrid couldn't keep the grin off her face. Finally, someone that wasn't stuck up was going to this boring event. Made it sound a lot more fun then just sitting to people shouting out random amounts of money for things she didn't really like. Then again, that this age, she still thought the world revolved around her and that no one was going to change that.. David seemed really happy with the idea, so that just made it better. And the hug didn't seem as awkward this time, he atleast hugged back properly, that was a start. She could see herself really liking David if things kept going nicely this way.

Rochell sighed, trying to get Ingrid to let go of poor David and to get in the car. Even though it looked like she didn't like that idea, she let go, and the police escorted her to the rather fancy looking car parked at the front. Rochell smiled, more sympathically this time "Don't worry, her father doesn't know what to do when she hugs him either. You'll get used to it. Thank you, again, for everything. I'm glad she ended up somewhere safe." She smiled, gently patting David's shoulder, and waved goodbye, shuffling herself into the car. As he started to drive off, Ingrid was right up by the window, quite ahpily waving at David as it pulled off down the street.

But one thing they all forgot.... Ingrid's shoes.

David looked around at Ingrid and Rochell, looking Rochell in the eyes when she patted his shoulder. "Yeah, I guess I will. I've just never been the most social one in my.." Looking away for a second as he softly muttered "Ex..Family." Shaking his head a little bit before looking back to watch them get inside of their fancy, expensive looking car. When he saw Ingrid waving to him through the window he kept smiling and waved back, saying "Good bye." as they drove off. He'd walk back inside and closed the door, sitting back at his dining table and finishing the rest of his breakfast. He looked down at Ingrid's unfinished egg sandwich, trying to think of what to do with it.

"Well, she may end up here again..Maybe I could save it for her." picking up the plate and taking it into the kitchen. putting it somewhere in his fridge. He'd then stretch his arms over his head an closed his eyes, before opening his eyes and looking down. Seeing Ingrid's left near the door. "Oh, guess I'll have to return these at the art gallery..Speaking of art." Making his way to the backdoor, taking all his art supplies out side and spending the net few hours finishing his latest painting. Before cleaning up the mess and picking out a few more works of art of his to bring with him to the gallery. Picking only the ones he was fully satisfied with.

The day drew on so long, but by the time the street lights came on and the art gallery opened, Ingrid was stood by the front, on her tip toes, trying to see over the crowd and get around the people that were only interested in asking her where her father was. She didn't really want to be there tonight. Too many people for her liking, but David made it worth while to stand there and look pretty. She wore a full prom like dress with little pumps underneath.

The halls were huge, brand new polished tiled floors, big pillars. Not low on the 'fancy'. Art work hung up and around, all priced up and ready for people to view before the auction. Everyone kept asking about the large wall saved, but Rochell explained rather quickly that it was for David and people were actually waiting to see what would be put up. The auction room was set, hundreds of chairs and round tables for people to drink and talk until the auction started, internet compters set up for all the internet bids. Phones places about for the phones bids. Everyone allocated their numbers and seated, doped up with champagne or any alcohol they asked for. Even with all that, Ingrid was not the only one of her age there.

There were a few young'uns about. Tucked about with their 'carers', or 'zoo keepers' as Ingrid called them, her being shadowed by her own. Her guard wasn't too bad. Rather calm looking man, hanging well back so Ingrid forgot he was even there, just glacing over occasionally to see where she'd gotten to. But she hadn't moved, just slowly getting more and more worried about if David was really going to show up, biting her lip as she stood up on the stairs concrete railing to try and spot him above all the annoyingly tall p[eople walking in.

David was driving towards the art gallery, just one more turn or two and he'd be there. He had five paintings in the back, all carefully and protective wrapped up with care, ready to be shown to the world. He couldn't remember the last time had any of his art auctioned off, hoping that he hadn't lost his touch. Though even if he did, he could always reflect on the words someone told him. "The only person a artist needs to please is themself." Softly saying that out loud as she drove up to the gallery, parking his car all the way away from the gallery. where the only empty spots where by now. Getting out of his car he heads to his trunk, opening it up and pulling out a extendable cart..Thing, whatever you call it. Putting it on the ground and preparing it.

He now opens the back doors, gently taking his paintings and placing them onto the..Thing, and closing the doors, locking his car up. Being thankful that it wasn't raining. Now pushing his with him as he headed towards the entrance, softly saying "Excuse me" and "sorry" as people bumped into him. When he got to the stairs he sighed, and darted off to the side. picking up his cart and quickly placing it up on the edge, before climbing up and carrying it to the door. He'd blink as she looked around, taking a moment to take in how the gallery looked, before seeing Ingrid there. Looking rather cute and pretty in her dress. Smiling as he made his way towards her. "Did I keep you waiting?" He said jokingly, a clear air of nervousness around him being around all these people.

Finally seeing David coming up the stairs, she sighed in relief and grinned at him. "Mhm~! But it's ok, I forgive you" she giggled, hugging him, but only for a short while this time, quickly grabbing his hand and pulling him, and his... Thing by the booking area. "C'mon! This is where you put you things, the other people will put up your paintings for you" She smiled, waiting for all the paper work to be all signed off. Even though this place was busy, all the employees seemed extremely careful with all the art works placed about. Everything from sculptures to sketches were up for sell, some priced rather high, others pretty low, but didn't make them any less pretty to Ingrid.

After he'd finished signing all the paper work, Ingrid re-took David's hand into her own and smiled again "Let's go look at everything, the auction will sart soon so we don't have much time" She giggled again, pulling him gently to the walls to get a glimspe of everything.

Smiled at Ingrid when she took his hand again, nodding "Going to give me a little tour then?" Looking around with her, taking a look at all the art placed up on or near the walls. Nodding to himself as she sometimes got in really close and examined the works of art closely, though chances are that Ingrid would drag him away when he started doing this, so that they'd have time to see everything. It was a little strange for him. to have such a young girl showing him bout like this, her small hand in his larger hand, feeling how soft she was.

A few works of out in particular caught his eye, clearly showing the intent to try and win these at the auction if he could. David then brought his attention back to the cute girl with him. Smiling as he said "Thanks, it's nice to be here with you." Scratching the back of his head some as he took a second to look her over again, he just couldn't get how cute she was out of his mind. Right now he was getting the urge to hug her, but that'd be weird, just doing something like that out of nowhere.

When David said it was nice to be there with her, she felt her cheeks growing hot slightly, just smiling up at him before sliding back into anothe hug "I'm really glad you came.." She murred gently, watching as everyone was moving about to sit down as the auctionee started heckling that they were starting soon. Ingrid grinned, taking David's hand and pulling him right up to the table at the front, her father sat one side, Rochell on the other.

Rochell smiled at David and pulled the chair out for him. "Oh brilliant, you made it, things are getting started soon so get comfy" She instructed gently. Ingrid's father didn't say a word, obviously having being told that David was going to be there, he didn't seem to think it was worth being alarmed or anything, so jsut sat quietly, sipping his champagne. Ingrid pushed her chair round and sat close to David, not letting his hand go as everyone began to quiet down, and the first few items were called up.

It was easy to tell if Ingrid liked something, as she would gently would kick the back of her Father's chair to get his attention, and he'd bid. That was about it. Nothing more was spoken between them, barely a glance from the man unless Rochell started talking, then she always had his undivided attention as he'd always look at her eyes, smiling along with her and made it his job to but still, not a word.

As the auction grew on, Ingrid made her father bid on all of David's pieces, even if it was only to ram the prices up a bit for him. She smiled at him, hoping he was having fun. She found this kind of thing boring, often shuffling in her chair between items and giving off the occasional yawn, as it was getting pretty late. But that didn't bother her, she was more interested in what David was doing really. She really began to like him.. He was.. very sweet. And he liked being around her, so she thought she finally found someone that didn't want to brush her away after a while. Which was a first.

David would give Ingrid a quick hug back and gently patted her on the head, blinking and chuckling when he thought he saw her cheeks get a tad bit red. He was thinking that she seemed like she was getting pretty attached to him, and maybe he was to her. He'd smile a bit and look her in her eyes "Really? Well, thank you. I'm glad to be able to come here." And yet again, the young girl took his hand and lead him somewhere else, at this point he felt like the age roles got swapped, chuckling softly at the idea.

He sat down and smiled back at Rochell, nodding. "I'll be sure to." Relaxing in his seat as he looked around at everyone, looking down and seeing that Ingrid's hand was still holding his, and deciding to let it stay that way. His eyes shifted around at everyone. seeing just how many people were here made him stiffen up a bit, and giving a quick glance towards Ingrid's father. That silent, seriousness and lack of interest reminded him of a certain someone else. As the auction went on, he looked around, admireing all the art that was for sell and and even bidding on the certain few pieces he had his eyes on earlier, though he'd give up if someone else bidded much more money then he could afford. Blinking a bit as he saw Ingrid kick at her father's seat and he bidded for all of his paintings, seeing Ingrid smiling at him he gave her a smile back, seeming to calm down and get less nervous as she looked around at the art, and then at her.

He was smiling... Good. Ingrid just kept smiling back and kept nudging the back of her father's chair to bid on the last few items all before it ended. Everyone was escorted back into the main hall to either collect their money, or pay and pick up their art pieces. Ingrid pulled David along into the place he was meant to be stood, reluctantly having to let go of his hand as he had a few more papers to sign, and random people kept shaking his hand and paying him compliments about his art, even a few phone numbers so he had buyers for the future. That didn't stop Ingrid being tucked up against his side though, not really wanting to go home now.. That meant leaving David...

Rochell and Richard came over, Rochell smiling. "Congradulations David, things seem to have gone very well for you tonight" She said softly, Richard nodded "Some of your art is good. I brought one or two.. Though I didn't really have much choice" RIchard mumbled gently, looking to Ingrid with a big grin on her face at the comment. "Hope to see you again, sometime. Excuse me.. I got cleaning up to sort" He mumbled again, letting go of Rochell's hand and wondering off, getting the employees to pack up the chairs, computers, phones, everything that wasn't meant to be there. Rochell shurgged "Don't mind him, sweetie. He's rough around the edges. But there's a good heart in there somewhere" She giggled, gesturing for Ingrid to come hold her hand, but Ingrid didn't like that idea, shuffling herself furhter behind David, holding his shirt and mouthing 'no'. That actually confused Rochell. That had never happened before, but she just smiled it off and nodded, leaving them two to sort out any... good nights.

Once again Ingrid had let him around, though he's already been getting used to this. When she let go of his hand he looked down at the papers, signing them and getting his money for his paintings, and then paying for the few works of are he had bid on and managed to win. Giving someone some money in order to to put them in his car for him, letting them use his cart as well. He put on a nervous smile as he shook hands with people, saying "Thank you" and "I'm glad you liked it." And after all that was over with, he put the numbers into his phone quickly before putting it away.

When he looked up he'd see Ingrid's parents, smiling at them. Then saying "Yeah it has, thank you." looking back at Ingrid them Rochell again at the net art. Chuckling a little. his attention now going back to Richard with a nod "Same here, have a nice night." Placing both his hands in his pockets after putting his long coat on "I'm sure there is, just wish my father had that." For a short second a small hint of anger in his face as he mentioned his father, though quickly returning to normal. David noticed Rochell's gesture and was about to move out of the way some for Ingrid to go to her, but blinked when she moved closer behind him. Seeing Rochell walk away then turning around to look at Ingrid. Smiling at her as she got down to eye level with her. Gently asking "Did you have fun today?"

Ingrid smiled and nodded at him, happy he didn't just shoo her back off to her mother. "Yeah.. It was good. I get to pick where all the paintings go. I like the ones with the flowers best.. gonna go in my room that one" she said softly, yawning, some of her words not making much sense since she was tired. "Did you?" She murred, looking back to him. She didn't want to go home. Not without David. It was weird that she got so attached to him so quickly, but there was just something in those eyes of his.. and the way he acted that she jsut wanted to be closer to. "Lots of people like all your work now, so that's good, right?" She smiled, hoping that she actually helped him out a bit.. for whatever reason. He didn't look like he needed help, but that's just the kind of person she was.

David nodded at her and smiled, patting her on the head "Yeah, it's been a nice day." Then blinking as he suddenly remember something, pulling her shoes out of the inner pockets of his longcoat and handing them to her "Oh and here, you left these back at my place. And incase you're wondering, you can come over whenever you want. Would be nice to have a friend's view on my work." Smiling a little wider at her, looking her in the eye. "But you look like you could use some rest, I'd hate to see someone as cute as you get sleep deprived." Blinking a bit, having just said she was cute out loud.

She blinked and put her shoes to one side while David was talking, smiling again when he said she could go over more. "That'd be nice" she murred, then her face turned to a blush when he mentioned her being cute. "Ehe.. N-nah." she smiled, and since David was at eye height with her, she moved and hugged around his neck gently. "I'll come see you tomorrow, ok?" She yawned, nestling herself against him until he answered.

Couldn't help but smile when she blushed, that was just too cute. As she wrapped her small arms around his neck to hug him she'd hug her back gently, seeming to be more used to hugging her now. Not really stiffening up like before. Nodding his head a bit as he said "I'll look forward to it." As he breaks the hug and gives her a light peak on the forehead. Standing up and offering her his hand. "Let's get you to your mother."
