The Labyrinth

Tytan slips out of the barracks and into the maze, following his cousins and apparently the new guy that had joined them. He smiled at Lucius and Lucya.

Tytan: Told you we would be fine.

Lucya hears foot steps and pulls Lucius and Tytans behind the nearest wall. She points at her ear and they understand. They see someone run into the labyrinth and stops. It's a boy with red hair, Lucya swears she hears him say 'wow'. She looks around, wow is right. The Labyrinth is beautiful, old, but beautiful. The stone walls look like they might fall over if you ran into them, but Lucya knows that they are the most structurally built thing in the Labyrinth and the city. The walls seem like they reach all the way up to the ceiling, or rather the top of the cavern it was built in. Lucya's always had a thing for buildings and architecture, if she was a minister in training she would become a builder in an instant. Lucius doesn't know but that's where she goes when she skips school, she finds buildings and sketches them in a better light, she makes them stronger, more reliable, beautiful.

Lucius follows his sister behind the wall, he sees the red haired boy run through. 'Great more people breaking the law, that is all the city needed', Lucius roles his eyes then remembers that he's also breaking the law, he glares at his sister but notices that she's staring at the walls. 'She always stares at walls, and buildings and doors, what is so special about those things?' Lucius looks around and sighs, he looks back at the gate keeper building 'no ones noticed us yet'. Lucius taps Lucya, he goes to speak but she shushes him and points at the red haired boy. He gets it, we do not know who this boy is yet, we do not know if we should make our selves seen to him yet. Lucius looks over at Tytan, his cousin will be the down fall of him..

Valeria and Jess arrive at Valeria's home-

Valeria: So, Jess what sounds good for lunch?

Beau looked around he couldn't see the others any more, he shyly sighed looked back at the gate post.

Beau: No going back now.

He turned and faced one of the side paths and began walking he pulled out a pocket knife as he walked he cut some ivy loose so he could find his way back.

Lucya: He is gone? Lucius, Tytan, that boy is gone?

Lucius: What do you mean gone, did he go farther into the labyrinth?

Lucya: He must have. We should follow him.

Lucius: Or- we should head back out and forget we ever came in here.

Lucya: Do not be a pansy Lucius Lucya stands up and starts walking towards where the boy was, she looks back at the gate and cannot see the guards, they must not be watching inside the Labyrinth very well. She stands where the boy was standing and looks around.

Lucius: Come on Tytan, we can just leave, no more rule breaking, What say you?

Tytan stares into the depths of the maze, itching to go.

Tytan: Come on, Lucius. Stop being such a bore. What could go wrong?

---

Jess: Hmmm. How about some soup?

Morgan listens to the siblings and Tytan argue for a while. She sighs and decides they would be a bit of a bore. That is when she notices the other boy going alone. She decides that she can't let him go alone and takes off after him not caring if the others see her. She rounds the corner she saw him go through and ran into his back knocking her into her back.

Morgan: Owww that hurt.
She rubbed her nose before looking up at him. Oh no I hope he's not angry. Wait why should I care?

Morgan: sorry about that.
She frowned hoping he would accept her apology and not ignore her.

Beau put his hand out to help her up.

Beau: It's alright, are you okay?

He asked offering a gentle smile.

Morgan took his hand and stood up.

Morgan: yeah thanks.
She looked around and then back at the boy.

Morgan: I'm Morgan.
She held out her hand casually.

Beau shook her hand

Beau: Beau, nice to meet you!

Morgan just nodded in response.

Morgan: Well since we are out here there is no point in separating.
Morgan pointed out into the labyrinth.

Morgan: you want to head that way?
She studied Beau watching his reaction.

Beau turned and looked where Morgan was pointing, then back at her he nodded.

Beau: I got nothing to lose.

He began walking in that derection cutting clumps of ivy off as he walked.

Morgan followed Beau. It was nice not being trapped in the city. The labyrinth was not as exiting as she hoped it would be. The walls were covered with ivy and where there was none it was plain. She wanted to go out here since she was seven and now that she was, she felt a simple calm. No excitement filled her. It just felt like she belonged. She got the urge to run.

Morgan: You want to run?
She looked at Beau expectantly.

Beau put the knife away suddenly looking excited and nodded.

Beau: Yeah! Everyone in my family has been runners. Hope you can keep up!
He bolted off running quickly deep into the labyrinth.

Morgan took a deep breath and chased after him. Looks like I can test myself. She had been running since she was six so she could keep up. She started to run as fast as she could laughing with exhilaration.

Beau followed straight in till there was a cross in the road he took a hard right continuing to run deep remembering every which way he went, left, straight right, straight right. He never once stopped to think about getting lost to him that wasn't in option it was find your way back out, or die trying. In all honesty he didn't know if he actually wanted to go back maybe spending the rest of his days in the maze would be nice. He shook his head no that isn't and option going into the maze was breaking one rule but not going back that's a death wish, it wasn't like anyone would come find him but what would find him in the labyrinth might be the end of him he does knew what was out there, but he knows there's a reason behind every rule.
