Please don't forget to chest the quest listings regularly. | Note that all enchanted chalices are currently quest items! Enchanted chalices from expeditions must be brought to the castle before you can sell/use them. |

  • The Kingdom of Evertrue. Evertrue is a land of magic, power, and riches. All manner of creatures live within this Kingdom, as it is a land of peace and prosperity. That's not to say that there are not dangers, however; danger and the riches that accompany them are plentiful if you know where to look.

In the Kingdom of Evertrue, you are invited to create any sort of character you can imagine. A mermaid warrior whose tail can be turned into legs with a simple incantation? Certainly. A human baker with three children? If you wish. A vampire princess exiled from a faraway land in search of a magical locket that will let her return home? As I said, your only limitation is your imagination.

Evertrue is vast and expansive, so you may want to take a look at the map above. It shows you all the settlements and expedition landmarks that are available to you.

If you're interested in joining Evertrue, know that sign-ups are always open! We will accept an unlimited number of characters - the more the merrier - so you only have to head to the sign-up page to get started. Provide us with all the required information about your character.

All characters start out with a simple three-room house in their hometown. Characters venturing to Evertrue from other worlds must choose an Evertrue hometown in their character sheet in which to settle down, and their house will be granted upon arrival.

All characters, once their characters are accepted, may choose to pursue an occupation. Your choice of occupation may be influenced by your choice of hometown, so choose wisely!

Characters may relocate after one week of roleplay. If you wish to relocate, simply send a PM to PrincessLala95 stating where you'd like to move. Your character's information will be updated accordingly.

To choose an occupation, all you need to do is have your character take up that occupation in a post. It can be however you like - begin baking or sewing from home, go meet with someone and see if they're taking on apprentices, go job hunting and take on a position in a local place...once your post confirms that you have chosen an occupation, however, it will become a part of your character information and you will be eligible for that career's salary. If you choose an occupation in your character sheet/registration, simply make a post in the IC thread in which your character confirms their career for it to show up in your character information.

Salaries are awarded once every two weeks. The money will simply appear in your character information, and I will likely post an update reminding everyone that it's payday. If you have been inactive for over two weeks, you will miss out on your salary for that period of time. Salaries are as follows:

Doctors, healers, knights, guards, scientists, mathematicians, historians, bookkeepers - 300 gold
Bakers, chefs, farmers, thieves, seamsters/seamstresses, smiths, potion-makers, merchants, other craftspeople - 200 gold*
    All others - 250 gold

*These careers receive lower salaries because they can earn gold through roleplaying their career - baking a loaf of bread and selling it to another player, stealing gold off someone else, etc. - and therefore they make a lower salary. Think of it as earning commission :P

Each city and town has a bulletin board with local and Kingdom-wide news. For a small fee of 10 gold, you can have a post listed on the bulletin board. You can submit a quest in the OOC/Signup thread by posting the following form:

    Quest-giver:
    Title:
    Details:
    Reward:

Quests submitted by players will remain on the board for one month unless completed. If nobody completes the task by the time the month is up, the notice will be taken down and will have to be re-submitted. The royal family may also post quests; these ones have no expiration date.

    Currently active quests:

    Quest-giver: Queen Clarice
    Title: Census Help Requested
Details: Reward is available to anybody who can accurately provide Her Majesty with the current populations of every town in Evertrue. This information must be sent through a PM. First-come, first-serve.
    Reward: 100 gold
    Quest-giver: Queen Clarice
    Title: The Enchanted Chalice
Details: Reward is available to anybody who can provide Her Majesty with the enchanted chalice required to restore her fertility. It can be found at a predetermined expedition site as loot and the reward will be given at the palace when you deliver it to her.
    Reward: 500 gold

Every town/city in Evertrue plays home to an inn/tavern or two. The question is, who is running those places? The answer is that you, the players, are the ones who run the inns and taverns. Each town has one tavern or inn and each city has two. If all the cities are full and somebody wishes to create an inn or tavern, they may message PrincessLala95 for special permission to create a third one in a major city.

To create an inn or a tavern, all you have to do is head to the sign-up page and fill out the Inn/Tavern & Keeper character sheet (found below the regular character sheet). Keep in mind that you may only create inns and taverns in towns/cities that aren't already full, so check here before creating one to make sure!

Craftsmen - those who paint, make pottery, sew, work with wood, build sculptures, write, etc. for a living - need materials to make their crafts. Luckily, one of Satocan's warehouses sells these materials at a wholesale price for those who need them cheap! There are three varieties of materials. When you order materials, you can order as many as you want in multiples of 10. To order, simply have your character write a letter to the warehouse specifying how many materials they want to order and enclosing the gold. Materials will arrive 48 real-life hours (2 days) after the letter is sent. A post will not be made, so you just have to watch the clock. 1 material can be used to make 1 item, even if the item should be made of multiple materials, meaning that 10 materials will always make 10 items.

Simple Materials 5 gold/10 Materials are sold for regular prices
Fine Materials 7 gold/10 Materials can be sold for up to 150% of regular price
Fancy Materials 10 gold/10 Materials can be sold for up to 200% (or double) regular price

If you wish to gain riches, you must either choose an occupation or set out on expeditions. The expedition sites, marked as landmarks on the map, will provide you with all manner of riches, which will be listed here. There are a number of expedition sites, with all sorts of treasures to be found.

There is no form or instructions for starting an expedition. All you have to do is go to the location in question and begin looting. Be careful, though, for some of these sites are treacherous.

Expeditions require a minimum of 10 posts to be completed. These posts begin with the moment your character sets out on their journey. You must encounter a minimum of 3 hazards while on your expedition, and no two hazards may be in the same post. Once you've completed your final expedition post, please include at the end of your post the following:

EXPEDITION COMPLETE - (name of expedition site)

Your expedition will be examined and, if you were successful, the treasures will be added to your character's inventory. If you are not successful (didn't include 10+ posts, didn't successfully evade 3 hazards, etc.) your treasures will turn to dust.

When treasures are added to your character inventory, the details will be included. Do not include any details about enchantments when you find the treasures as these will be detailed in your inventory - think of it as having the items appraised. Treasures can be sold in Ocorid City for more gold or used as gear.

If more than one person is involved in the expedition, the treasures will be split between the inventories of any people involved who made 10+ posts and encountered 3+ hazards.

If your character inventory is full, your treasures will not be added.

The following are all of the expedition sites available to you, along with the treasure available and some possible hazards:

    1. Please be respectful, courteous, and kind. The only kind of drama we're looking for is between characters, not players!

    2. Please use proper spelling and grammar to the best of your ability. We'd like to be able to read what you've written in order to respond appropriately!

    3. No godmodding or Mary-Sue characters. Your character cannot be flawless or all-powerful, and you may certainly not control the actions of other players' characters in your posts!

    4. Posts should be a minimum of one paragraph (three sentences) in length, and they cannot be made up entirely of dialogue. We'd like you to give your partners enough content to make up a decent response.

    5. You may begin with one character. You may create more characters after being involved in the RPG for one month. After a month, your character limit increases to 5. After two months it will increase to 10, and after 3 months you may have an unlimited number of characters!

    6. If anything happens that will require a change to your character information, you must post it in the OOC and tag PrincessLala95 so it can be properly updated. This includes gaining or spending/losing gold, obtaining new items, changing your equipped items, obtaining or losing a job, or completing expeditions.

    7. You can create any kind of character you want! Vampires, fairies, werewolves, elves, humans, witches - the list is endless. Anything you can imagine, you can create.

    8. Marriage and procreation is allowed in this RPG. If your characters become married, simply post in the sign-up thread saying that the two characters have been married. Children count as extra characters, meaning that procreation cannot take place until you have been active in the RPG for a month. Either parent can add a child as a character. New parents are granted 50 gold on top of their regular paycheques as a way of providing royal aid in raising their family. When registering babies as new characters, specify which parent is to receive this gold in the "Other" section. The 50 gold comes in every payday until the child moves out of their parents' home.

    9. Each expedition location has a set amount of treasure, but those amounts change every now and then. Each location may only be looted by one expedition per week.

    10. Your character will start out with one weapon that they do not have to purchase - this is the weapon that you specify in "preferred weapon". Likewise, you may choose one non-armour outfit to be your starting outfit - you don't have to include a picture unless you want to. This weapon will not show up in your inventory. Characters whose preferred weapons are magic or other non-tangible items will not start out with a weapon.

    11. Please don't disappear while interacting with someone! If you're on your own that's fine, but don't go multiple days without responding to another player's post.

    12. If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please contact PrincessLala95 through a private message. I'll be quick as I can to get back to you!

Factions are small, organized groups of individuals who work together cohesively for a common goal or take on similar projects. They can be as mundane and well-meaning as a cooks guild to as dangerous and powerful as a league of assassins. In Evertrue, factions are now an official feature, meaning that you can form organized factions with others!

Factions are, however, expensive. This means that you'll have to invest gold into creating a faction. The fee to register a legal and listed faction is 2500 gold, but that's only a base fee. Additional fees will be required for other important features. For now, those features only include hideouts and outposts, but more will be added.

The form requires you to include information on how people can go about joining your faction. Do NOT put in this spot that you are not accepting new members or what it takes to become a member - simply put where they must inquire. Do they approach the group's leader, can they request to join at any base or outpost, do they need to be invited by an existing member of the faction...? How do they ask about a membership?

The faction can be pre-established, but it won't appear on this list without registering it. This will make it an unofficial faction. An unofficial faction can collect funding or donations from members or wealthy beneficiaries if they wish to become official, which will allow them access to hideouts and bases, as well as royal funding.

    Registration fee: 2500 gold
    Hideouts/bases fee: 1000 per base (limit: 3)

Registered factions can receieve royal funding, meaning that active members will receive a regular paycheque of 100 gold for their involvement. This can be on top of a regular job. In order to receive royal funding, a faction must have at least 3 active members (active at the time of petitioning) and the leader must travel to Sapphire City to petition the King and Queen to fund their group. If the royal family agrees, active members will start to receive royal funding. Factions that are not funded by the royal family will not receive regular paycheques, and any gold given to members must be arranged by the leader or obtained through regular means.

To create a faction, you must fill out the following form:

    Faction Name:
Faction Leader: (this is the person whose gold will be taken to cover fees, so make sure that any donations are transferred to the leader before posting the registration form!)
Type of faction: (cooks, thieves, assassins, sports players, mercenaries, etc....)
Number of hideouts/bases/outposts: (limit 3, 1000 gold each)
Locations of hideouts/bases/outposts: (they don't have to be inside a town)
    How to join:
    Brief description:
    Description of uniform: (optional)

    cooltext167127065846875.png

    Current leader: Vacant
    Type of faction: Mercenary
The Sisterhood of Capillaris, named after its founder Rona Capillaris, is a group of all-female mercenaries. They use their unique status as women to get jobs done that might be trickier for male mercenary bands - for example, they might use seduction as a tactic, or they may use their innocent appearances to infiltrate enemy lines. Ultimately, they consider themselves Sisters, and they will do anything for another Sister. Sometimes, female warriors will join the Sisterhood of Capillaris as a means of securing a safe future for her family, knowing that if they die, an elderly, disabled, or retired Sister will take in her children or the Sisterhood itself will make sure that they are looked after. The Sisterhood takes responsibility for funeral arrangements if a member dies, as it is ritualistic for a fallen Sister's body to be surrounded by scented candles in order to prevent their spirit from becoming corrupted.
    Hideouts:
Shivervale Lodge, an estate in the mountains approximately halfway between Dekus Steppe and Eastern Tortoise Expanse. Serves as the Sisterhood's main operating base.
Blackwing Isle is a small island just off the coast near Cobalt Cay. The entire island is about the size of the castle grounds. Serves as a hideout for Sisters in need of protection, as well as an information base that covers Sapphire Island.
Uniform: The Sisters are not required to wear any sort of uniform. Anyone who is initiated into the Sisterhood, however, is given a short cloak (comes just below the elbows) in a deep magenta colour that has the word Capillaris embroidered in silver thread on it.
How to join: Visit Shivervale Lodge and speak to any Sister there.

    cooltext167129740712915.png

    Current leader: Evindal Enven
    Type of faction: Thieves
The Brass Rats are a group of thieves. Based in Sunset City, the Brass Rats got their name because they seem to possess mysterious master keys that can unlock almost any doors. They typically use these keys to break into inn rooms so they can steal gold and valuables from wealthy tourists visiting Sunset City to admire its great beauty.
Hideouts: The Brass Rats hide out in a series of sewers running beneath Sunset City. They have certain points throughout the sewers, marked by painted keys on the walls, where members meet up to trade secrets, hand out new keys, notify others of jobs, or just hang out. You can usually find at least one or two members at each of the six marked points.
Uniform: The Brass Rats don't have a uniform. Instead, members are known simply by the rusty old key they are given upon joining. Most wear it on a cord around their necks, although some keep them in their pockets or on keyrings with other keys.
How to join: Find any member and ask.

    cooltext167132225248944.png

    Current leader: Adella the Angel
    Type of faction: Odd jobs
The Helpers of Celeste are an unusual group. They never meet, instead communicate through notes and hidden gifts. Ultimately, their aim is to help the people of the Kingdom in any way possible, just by doing little things and simple tasks. They tend to help out wherever they can, and if they hear about something that needs to be done but they, for whatever reason, cannot do it themselves, they will leave notes in their hidden cache boxes for someone else to do it. There is a cache box in every city and town throughout Evertrue, usually hidden in special rooms in local inns. The caches are left unlocked so that anyone who stumbles upon one is free to start helping.
Hideouts: The Helpers of Celeste do not have any hideouts.
    Uniform: None.
How to join: There are a few different ways to become a Helper of Celeste. If you stumble upon one of their cache boxes and perform any of the tasks left on the notes inside, you will automatically be among their ranks, even if you don't know yet what they are. This way is tricky though, because you won't know the locations of other cache boxes. Alternatively, you can be chosen by Adella, who will come to you and tell you that she wants you to be a Helper of Celeste. If you accept, she will tell you all of the cache locations and how to go about helping.

    cooltext167133525994429.png

    Current leader: Oliver Gallagher
    Type of faction: Scholars
The Dennethian Scholars are an organized group of scholars who perform dangerous magical research. They risk their lives to obtain this knowledge for their Kingdom, and their ranks consist almost entirely of mages. There is currently dissent within their ranks, however, as many - including their leader, Oliver Gallagher - are beginning to study necromancy and other dark arts through practicing it themselves. They believe that it is their right, and that through these studies, they will gain important knowledge. It is well-known, however, that the dark arts are more than capable of corrupting mages, so many are fearful that this is taking it too far.
Hideouts: The Dennethian Scholars have two offices, one in the City of Telia and one in Vastwater Basin. These offices communicate regularly.
How to join: Visit either of their offices to join up. Must have magical abilities or be interested in studying those with magical abilities.
    This group is royally funded.

In the Sapphire City, in the majestic castle from which the King and Queen ruled over their vast Kingdom, Queen Clarice was just waking up for the day. She drew herself up into a sitting position, let out a yawn and stretched out her arms, smiling at the sight of the early morning sunlight that streamed in through her window. Even after several years of marriage, waking up and realizing that she was the Queen and that she lived here in the castle always seemed to excite Clarice.

She rose from her bed and headed straight to her closet to find something to wear, beginning to rifle through the number of gowns that hung there. It still amazed her that she had so many options when it came to clothing. Growing up, though her family hadn't exactly been wealthy, she'd always had a number of outfits, but never this many. She glanced briefly towards the bed, remembering that her husband wasn't there - she had grown so accustomed to his company, and to keeping quiet in the morning when she awoke so as not to wake him, wanting to ensure that he got every last minute of sleep available to him. Phillippe had, however, been moved to a room of his own after falling ill. The healers wished to be able to tend to him during the night without waking the young Queen, they had told her, so she had reluctantly agreed.

She pulled a dress from the closet, a beautiful blue dress with a tight-fitting, golden-trimmed bodice and a wide, flowing skirt. She held it up to her body in the mirror and gave a slight twirl before beginning to change, removing her simple white nightgown and pulling this dress on. Typically, servants were made available to the Queen to help her dress, but Clarice refused such help. She had no need of it, preferring to dress herself and style her own hair. Her stepdaughter, on the other hand, took every ounce of help she could get. Clarice felt relieved that the girl had been born a princess, wondering how she'd ever survive life as a commoner.

With the beautiful blue dress on her slender body, she moved next to her vanity. She didn't ever take long there - she needed only to brush her dark hair, pin it up, and apply a small amount of makeup. She did all of this in record time, the brush running through her sleek, dark locks with ease before she twisted those same dark locks upwards. The style was elegant yet simple, fit for a Queen. She brushed on a bit of makeup and paused to admire herself before rising to her feet.

Clarice let out a sigh before she left her room, checking the clock on her way out. She had a busy day ahead of her - paperwork, meetings, tending to her husband, and somehow making time to eat in the middle of it all. On top of all that, it was a weekday, and as such, the castle was open to guests who wished to meet with the rulers - they would ask for favours, present petitions, request aid with problems...the list went on. Luckily, she had a few minutes to spare before her first meeting with some advisors in the throne room, so she decided it was best to start the day off with something to eat. She began to walk in the direction of the kitchens, smiling and nodding and politely greeting any servants, guards, or advisors she passed.

It was just another day for Lady In Waiting Ashley Malota, tending to business with the Queen like she does everyday. Sadly, with the King ill and her Husband away with her Father on some Military Venture, Ashley has been enduring pregnancy on her own with little support, but was lucky that Clarice has been very supportive to her. She was entering the seventh month of her pregnancy. It was starting to get tough to walk and stand so often. Her stomach has also grown to a rather astonishing size that it did have her a little worried. She did feel very...insecure about her pregnancy, but often she was reminded that she was still beautiful by Clarice.

Today, she donned a White Dress. While brushing her hair, she looked around before grabbing her Cloak, but left behind her Bow and Arrows since there were enough guards to go around. Too bad it was going to be a very busy day. As she made her way to the kitchen so that she can meet with the queen, Lady Malota politely greeted the servants and guards that she encountered along the way. Having a healthy breakfast was vital to the lady's health, especially if she wanted her child to be healthy. Often she wondered how the Queen felt about her pregnancy. Ashley knew well that the queen has been having trouble conceiving a child. This saddened her, but there wasn't much that she could do about it. Finally, she met up with her Majesty in the Dining Room. "Good Morning your grace." she greeted the queen in a polite matter.

In the blue sky above, the sun has already take its place unlike Theodore who still slept comfortably in his bed. But it seems the sun's rays would not let him remain lazy for long, as light crept through the window and directly onto the young man's eyes. Unfortunately for the sun, its attempts were in vain as Theodore merely lifted his blanket and covered his eyes, gaining a few more minutes of slumber. That is, until, a loud voice rang through the two story home, calling out his name. Well, more on his nickname, Theo. The voice was one he heard every day for the past three days that he's been in Sapphire City. It was the voice of his uncle, who, without a doubt, had awaken hours before and already began baking bread to be sold.

There were two choices to pick from, first would be to wake up and face the day while second would be to hear his uncle shout once more and he would become deaf - or their neighbors would awaken and complain, whichever came first. The second would inevitable lead to the first, 'So may as well keep my hearing.' Theodore thought as he threw his blanket to the side and sat up, all the while yawning. After a few seconds of staring into blank space, he finally stood up. Leaving his room, he would've gone straight downstairs to the bakery, if he didn't remember the fact that he slept in the same clothes he wore the day before. Returning, he quickly rummaged through the bag placed just beside his bed. It didn't take long before he actually left the room, wearing clothes that barely seemed different. Other than a lightly darker shade of white for his shirt, he still wore the usual grey scarf, blue jacket, dark pants and boots to match.

When he reached the bakery downstairs, his olive green eyes quickly spotted a man that looked similar to him, if not for the darker shade of brown for the hair. "Morning uncle!" He greeted with a grin and naturally, he got a small lecture on how he should be more responsible with waking up. Well, it isn't exactly easy to wake up at such an early time when there was no occasion to do so before. Not that he was going to use it as an excuse. After the tiny lecture, he was told the task he needed to do and where he needed to go before being handed a basket. "And fix your hair, you look like a cat dragged you in." He heard his uncle say. Using his fingers, he combed through his hair and flattened any strands that decided to be rebels. Seeing a nod of approval from his uncle, he took the basket and went on his way. It wasn't difficult considering all he had to do was knock on doors and deliver bread. Easy as pie. 'If only the city wasn't so large.' He thought with a sigh before leaving the bakery and beginning to walk towards the first address. The route was simple anyway, just a few houses, the castle then go back. 'Maybe this time I won't get lost.' It would be a miracle if he didn't. Unfortunately, miracles don't occur very often.

Clarice smiled as she saw Ashley walk in, quickly moving to the table. She outstretched her arms and pulled out the chair to the left of the head of the table, motioning quickly for Ashley to sit. She didn't like that Ashley was still working so late in her pregnancy, and though she had brought it up to her friend already, she knew that Ashley wouldn't budge on her position. She already had one of the servants lined up to take over Ashley's duties once she was ready to take time off - which, knowing Ashley, likely wouldn't be until the baby came - but until then, she was doing all she could to accommodate her friend when she could.

"Good morning," she said in a soft voice, a warm smile on her lips. "How are you feeling? Did you sleep well?" As far as Clarice was concerned, Ashley's well-being was one of her highest priorities. She needed to do all she could to ensure that Ashley was healthy and had no troubles, especially since she was, technically speaking, Ashley's employer. She couldn't wait for Ashley to have her baby. The last person in the castle who'd had a baby was a servant a few months after she and the King had been married. Since that servant had decided to leave the service of the castle and take on a job that would let her stay at home with the baby, she hadn't been around the castle much, so Clarice hadn't had the chance to spend time with the little bundle of joy. With Ashley, though, Clarice would definitely have that chance. She'd always loved children, and until she could have one of her own, she intended to love and spoil Ashley's the same way she would her own.

Ashley sat down next to the Queen as they got ready for breakfast. Holding her belly, she smiled at the Queen, happy to be by her side like she is almost every day. Clarice even went out of her way to make sure that Ashley was doing well, and not very many monarchs did that from what she knew. "I'm alright, your majesty. Though I wish my little one would calm down a bit. He often starts fidgeting every night whenever I try to go to sleep. But I am well rested." She answered when Clarice asked her how she was feeling and if she had a good night's sleep. Midwives have predicted a boy, and she did want a son first. "He's getting really heavy, your grace. But I have two more months until he arrives."

A smile came to Clarice at hearing Ashley's words. Once her friend was seated, she moved to the seat at the head of the table - opposite where Phillippe would normally sit had he been feeling well enough for breakfast - and gently lowered herself into the seat. The servants would likely be out momentarily with the breakfast - Clarice expected them to feed themselves before catering to her, and they were probably just finishing up their own breakfasts. When she'd arrived at the castle, the servants hadn't been treated well at all - the previous Queen, she'd soon learned, had been a snobbish, rude woman who believed that servants were beneath her, as if they weren't people at all. Clarice knew better, and when she'd arrived, she'd made the necessary changes. Rather than overworking the servants, she'd convinced Phillippe that they needed to hire more so that the work could be spread out evenly between them. She gave them more time for themselves, she required them to prioritize their well-being, and she was currently working on plans to renovate the servants' quarters so they'd be more comfortable for the servants who chose to live within the castle walls.

"I'm sure that's a good thing, Ashley," Clarice said to her friend with a warm grin. "I'm sure it means that he'll be a healthy, chubby little darling when he's born." Clarice didn't have much experience with newborns, having only encountered a few in her lifetime, but from all she'd heard, the healthiest babies were the chubbiest when they were born. They were also the cutest, of course, with their round little faces and cheeky little smiles. The more Ashley spoke of her pregnancy, the more excited Clarice became about the baby - and, of course, the more she wanted one of her own.

After awaking in my home, I couldn't help but concern my mind with the possibilities of today. I could always perhaps travel outside of Monadalia, yes, but the question is- what awaits me outside of the town boundaries?
My entire life was filled with sheltered knowledge and endless studying, as my parents wanted me to be a high-ranking citizen by the time I turned 18. Heh, what a shame I must be to them.
As I stepped out of my bed, I stretched my arms, and proceeded to make my way to my cabinets in the dining area, which were filled with bread and pastries of simple flavour. I grabbed a loaf and ripped off a chunk before grabbing a small, square cloth, red in colour, whilst calling my dragon to my shoulder, and heading to the main square of Monadalia. Pressing through the crowds as I ate my breakfast, I eventually found my step, more so in the north eastern area of the town, where I often sang and did tricks for people. Today was just another regular day.
I lay out the sheet next to me, clear my throat in a more gentle manner and begin humming a tune, almost akin to a lullaby. It didn't take long for the crowds to gather- 4, 17, 24 people. Usually, on a good day, I would average around 13 gold a day. But for 13 gold? I'm barely scraping by. It seems to be more difficult for me to get a grasp on financial burdens than it used to be. It used to be so easy to take care of myself when I was younger.
The tune I hummed almost resonated within my throat, echoing throughout the square, and embodying my emotions, somber, yet strong. Fierce, and yet, timid. My song eventually came to a halt, and the crowd began to cheer, Raiko gathering up the total gold for the day as I gave a little bow and a wave. The crowd dispersed.
I sat down, opening up the cloth as Raiko placed it in my lap and was immediately shocked at what I had seen. "6 gold..?" Never was I paid so little. I rummaged the coins around more and was confused when I saw a small ring, about the size of a feminine finger, made of what appeared to be orichalcum. No other features in particular except for a few scratches on the inside and outside. Worth maybe 3 or 5 gold here as is?
I decided to pocket both the ring and my earnings, before extending my arm to allow Raiko to perch. Perhaps if I ever get a grinding stone, I could fix it up, and make around 8 gold from it. But that would need to be in prime condition. Not only that, but where to find blacksmithing items?
It seemed my search continued to lead no where.

Thack!

A long, mahogany shaft wedged itself into the wooden beam Aros had been stealthily hopping across with a thunderous vibration. The half-elf nearly jumped from fear, but caught himself at the last moment: he hadn't been expecting them to catch up with him this fast, and the silver locket dangling from his fist was beginning to look a lot less valuable to him than it had been when he took the job.

THWICK!

Another arrow, but this time it landed not two feet ahead of him. Expertly, Aros--now expecting the hail of projectiles--leapt straight over the embedded shaft and across the rest of the beam. Now, somersaulting onto a hardwood rooftop, he began to take off at full speed. A thief was often most vulnerable when traveling on rope, wire or supports between rooftops, as there was little room for amateur maneuvers. The solid rooftop was a welcome reassurance, and the cover of nightfall only made it more difficult for the gangsters he had stolen from to catch up.

Ten minutes of mid-air flips, rope swings, and more than a few unplanned falls later, Aros found himself sliding off of a market awning and back onto the ground with his would be enemies nowhere in sight.

"Ha! Easy." The dark elf glanced at the locket and smiled to himself. Another success meant he was one step closer to realizing his dreams. His heart was still hammering in his chest, and his adrenaline rush hadn't subsided, but the dark elf lowered his pace to a jog as he weaved between alleyways and cobbled streets. Smiling all the way, he was about to re-emerge onto the main street when the air left his lungs, and his legs buckled beneath him.

Standing over him, was a grizzled, bandanna-wearing beast of a man. Fighting the stars that had appeared at the edge of his vision, he realized that the growing ache in his abdomen had come from this monster's heavily-ringed fist.

Shit.

The hand reached down for the locket, but before the goon could take his prize, Aros's legs shot up from the floor and wrapped them-self around the man's neck. Aros pulled himself up by his calves and delivered a series of deft strikes to the man's face before rolling backwards with the thug's bandanna in hand.

Angered by his bloodied nose the thug snarled at Aros, "You lamb-legged thief! You think you can steal from the Gorgios and just walk out? I-"

Just then, Aros saw it: the unmistakable scar above his brow, the nose ring--even the salt-and-pepper beard--all signs that his would be pursuer was not only someone he knew, but a friend.

"Drop the act Jagger, I know you've got no ties to those ham-fisted crapheads by the narrows. Should'a told me you were working the nights though." Aros chuckled--or tried to at least. He was still gasping for breath from the punch, but he knew he was in the clear.

"Aros?! Damn man, I almost choked your scrawny little half-blood neck out." Jagger cracked a smile, and helped Aros back to his feet. to the comment about working nights, Jagger responded "Aye, I myself didn't know I was taking the graveyard shift tonight, but when the bosses call, any man looking to make an extra coin or two knows to answer." Jagger sighed. "They saw me catch up this way though. I guess I know what that means... Unless you're willing to just give me the locket?"

"Can't do that old friend. I have an adventure to begin, and I need this money to start it. I'll owe you one." Aros cracked his knuckles, and stretched his arms back behind his head before readying his fists once more. Jagger looked irritated, but he had long since known that it was never wise to debate with Aros the likelihood of his dreams ever coming true. Jagger had been an orphan like the elf too, but while he had watched over Aros when they were younger, neither he--nor the city's ugly spirit--could ever dampen the elf's resolve. "Besides Jagger, you're a big guy. A bloody nose is less than a scratch to you." With his trademark grin, Aros clocked Jagger in the face, blackening his eye in the process.

"DAMN! You hit well enough for a little shit, you know that?" Aros was already on his way out, but a concealed smile played on both their lips. Eastway Bluff was a city of criminals for sure, but amongst those thieves that lived together, there was a code of honor--even brotherhood--that made living in squalor just a little easier.

Three Hours Earlier

"You would be great at it! Besides, I've never understood why you think you owe this wretched city something when all it's ever done is treat you like garbage."

Carla's glare bore into Aros's flimsy grin with a fiery intensity unmatched by even some of the strongest thugs and assassins Aros had encountered. She was fiercely poised; her thin angular frame standing at full attention above the seated elf.

"Look around you Carla! This house? I got this from this city. These clothes? I bought these here too. Besides, I wouldn't have half as many friends as I do if I lived anywhere else. I could be wrong of course, but I hear thieving isn't exactly a welcome profession anywhere else." Aros laughed heartily before leaning back in his living room chair.

"Thieving isn't a welcome profession here. Besides, I thought you were saving up to leave this life anyway? You'd get better pay--bigger contracts even! Think how easy it would be to live above this filth." Aros rolled his eyes, and picked up the contract Carla had delivered to him. She was an assassin, and while none of her arguments were incorrect, Aros knew what kind of spirit it took to devalue a life--and simply wasn't him.

"What's so dangerous about one stupid locket. I'm sure I can handle it no problem. You do realize that I am actually pretty good at my job?" Aros grinned, and handed back the paper. "I'll take it though. Just don't get yourself killed out there, kid. Otherwise you're going to make me regret all the stolen fruit I've wasted on you in the past." Carla scoffed at the reference: she wasn't particularly fond of being reminded that she too was once a street urchin. Neither would say it, but they had grown apart both physically and emotionally. The black-leather clad assassin took one last hard look at Aros before making for the door.

"You know where to find me if you don't get caught."

"I NEVER get caught! I am the mighty Aros! Stealer of shiny things and adventurer in training! Ha!"

Being around the queen made Ashley feel a bit more secure. It would seem that she was very excited for the impending birth. Ashley herself could only hope that Clarice could be present for the birth aside from the Midwives and her own husband. One thing that the queen didn't know about though, was that Ashley would pray every night to the heavens in hopes they would answer her plight to have children. Unsure of what was in store for the day, despite knowing Clarice's daily routines inside out, and by heart, Ashley had something she wanted to ask the queen, but not around 'common ears'. She wanted Clarice to be the Godmother to her son, in the case that anything was to happen to her or her dear husband. Gently, she rubbed her belly. "I guess so, your grace. I can only imagine how handsome he'll be." She smiled before looking down at her baby bump. "You're going to be the most handsome baby in the Kingdom, aren't you, sweetie?" she mused.

Clarice giggled softly at hearing Ashley speak to her baby, nodding her head quickly. "I'm sure he will be, judging by his parents," she said with a grin. Of course, that brought on another slight sadness - upon learning of Ashley's pregnancy, she had begun to hope that she would be joining her friend soon. In her dreams, she had envisioned their children growing up together - perhaps even falling in love, getting married...but by the time Clarice had a child of her own - if she ever did - the age gap would be too uncomfortable. Ashley's son would probably already have fallen in love and been married by the time any daughter of Clarice's was old enough for him to consider.

Still, she had to keep hope that she would have a child soon, and as much as she longed for a daughter of her own, Phillippe's failing health made it almost a necessity that Clarice had a son, if anything. If she had a son, then her son would be the King after Phillippe - if not, Phillippe's younger brother would probably be next in line, and Clarice would have failed her husband...

A pair of servants began to enter through the side door that led directly to the kitchens, bringing in a few platters with them. They began to lay them out on the table at the end where Clarice and Ashley sat, lifting off the lids and smiling kindly.

"Your majesty," said one of the servants politely, "for breakfast today we have here a platter of pancakes with syrup, some scrambled eggs, a few strips of meat, and a bowl of fresh fruits. We will be back in a moment with some beverages - would you prefer milk, water, or juice, your majesty?"

Clarice paused thoughtfully, smiling over at the servants. "I'll have milk," she said to them, turning her gaze towards Ashley. "What would you prefer?" she asked, not wanting to speak for Ashley when she knew her friend was more than capable of speaking for herself.

Hours...for hours, Kiera had been sitting. Waiting, patiently, rocking from side to side. Yes, hours, it had taken hours to sail from the small town of Monadalia to the magnificent Sapphire Island. The sea had been calm, the waves gently lapping at the side of the boat upon which Kiera had been sitting. It hadn't been a big boat, but it wasn't quite small either - it had a crew of three men, all working together to keep the boat afloat. They hadn't asked much from Kiera. When she had asked, they had told her they were sailing that way anyways, so they had agreed to let her ride along. They weren't going to the Sapphire City though - instead, they had intended to sail to the city of Telia, as they had a delivery from Vastwater Basin, further inland. Kiera hadn't minded, of course - the fact that they had agreed to sail her to Sapphire Island was more than enough for her, a favour for which she would be grateful.

The sea had roared, almost deafening in the witch's ears. Every now and then, a wave would smack the side of the boat too high up and a few droplets would splatter the witch's hand, or sometimes land on her face. She, calmly, had simply brushed the water droplets aside with one hand and continued to gaze across the mostly calm sea. It hadn't been her first time travelling by sea, nor would it be her last. The smell of salt and mist had filled her nostrils and she had inhaled deeply, appreciating the sweet smell. As something of a hermit, Kiera had rarely spent time by the sea, but when she did, she was reminded why she should more often. Not that she was likely to act on it, of course, but she could imagine.

The boat, after several hours sailing, had soon landed in Telia. For a seaside city, their harbour was small, and they had anchored themselves at a dock before disembarking. Kiera had given the sailors her thanks, and they had told her she was quite welcome. They had told her how long they would be docked here in case she needed a ride back to Monadalia when they returned to the mainland, but she had told them that her business was likely to take longer than that. And so, she had parted ways from the sailors, likely never to see them again, but indifferent to that fact. Seeing people again wasn't something Kiera did often.

It had been almost twilight when she and the ship had landed, so Kiera had decided it best to stay a night in the local inn. She was quick to find one, drawn by the noise of the evening's patrons as they drank and began to get rowdy. They had been polite enough, however, parting from their positions blocking the door to let Kiera pass when she had approached. Perhaps they had been afraid of her - she was uncertain, but also indifferent. Whether people feared her or not made no difference to her. If anything, it was something she appreciated.

The inn had been bustling and busy, full of patrons - men leering at pretty women, couples trying to have a romantic dinner, friends laughing and celebrating for one reason or another. Ignoring all the sound around her, Kiera had made a beeline for the front counter, giving a small but polite smile to the innkeeper as he finished topping off a few drinks and made his way to her.

I'd like a room for the night, Kiera had said to him in a low voice, and he had given her a nod. He had fetched her a key and taken her gold, giving her brief directions to the room that went with the key she had been given. Up the stairs, 'round the corner, third door on the left. She had nodded, softly thanking him before beginning towards the staircase. A shoe had gone whizzing by her head, almost hitting her, and an icy glare in the direction from which it had come had been more than enough to silence the raucous crowd that had been responsible.

Up the stairs she had gone. She had rounded the corner, and sure enough, she saw four doors on the left side of the hallway. She made her way gracefully to the third door, inserting the key into the hole and giving it a gentle twist. As she pushed, the door gave way and creaked open for her, revealing a small and simple room. It had a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, a candlestick, and a chamber pot. Satisfied, she had entered and shut the door behind her, letting it fall locked and setting the key down atop the dresser.

Kiera had taken with her but one bag, a bag which contained a few days' worth of outfits and a couple of spellbooks. She had brought along any spells that might help with the young Queen's fertility troubles or the elderly King's health troubles, wanting nothing more than to help the royal family. In her experience, she had never met a cruel royal family. Many were confused and conflicted about things, yes, but none had ever been truly cruel. Many, in fact, had helped Kiera from time to time, though these instances had been rare, few and far between. Now, in her new home, she wanted to help the troubled royal family. From what she heard, solving either the Queen's problems or the King's problems would be help enough for them. If she could help with both matters, that was even better, but one of the issues would be much easier to fix than the other. Fertility problems were nothing to a witch like Kiera, but tending to the health problems of the elderly? One could only cheat death so many times.

When the morning had come, Kiera had found herself well-rested. Her next task had been to find a way from Telia to the Sapphire City, a task with which she had no troubles when she descended the staircase and went into the inn's main room for some breakfast. The room was full of two types: the hungover and the hungry. Among the hungry, those who happily ate the meals brought to them by the barmaids, Kiera had been quick to overhear some plans between a pair of men - plans to pass through the Sapphire City on their way to Ocorid, the trading capital of the Kingdom. She had approached, gently asking if she could accompany them to Sapphire City as she was in need of a ride, and the pair had been quick to agree.

She had climbed into their carriage, among all the goods and treasures they had to sell, and she had taken out a spellbook to begin sifting through. She had been combing through the spellbook over and over again on the boat, but she felt as though there was something she had missed. Determined to find it, she had spent the entirety of the carriage ride reading her books.

Unfortunately, the pair of men had some slow horses, and it wasn't until midday that they even reached the City of Slanait. They decided to stop for some lunch and invited Kiera to join them, but as antisocial as Kiera could be, she had declined. Instead, she had decided to visit another diner nearby, treating herself to a small yet delicious meal while the two men ate elsewhere. When finished, she had met them back at the carriage, and she had settled herself in for the ride to Sapphire City.

When they had reached the Kingdom's capital, it was just past twilight. The moon had been in the sky, shining down on the cobbled streets and illuminating the beautiful capital. She had found herself able to see the castle, outlined in silver light, and a smile had come to Kiera's lips. Soon - in the morning - she would be there, offering her services to the royal family in the hopes that she could help them out. Until then, of course, she had needed a place to sleep, and so, much as she had the night before, she had found herself a tavern, rented out a room, and settled in for the night.

And so, as the sun rose over the beautiful Kingdom of Evertrue, Kiera found herself waking up in an inn room. She was quick to bathe herself, finding the accommodations here in the Sapphire City much better than those in Telia, before getting dressed. Once she was clad in a black dress with an intricately beaded bodice, a slim-fitting skirt and flowing sleeves, she decided that it was time to make her way to the castle. She ate a quick snack of warmed bread in the main part of the inn before stepping out into the streets, which were now bustling with activity. A smile on her lips, she turned her gaze towards the castle and began to wander the streets in its direction.

When asked what she wanted to drink, Claire pondered for a few seconds. "I'll take water, thank you." She said curtly to the servant before returning her attention to the Breakfast Feast before her and Clarice. Concerning Clarice, Ashley became increasingly worried about her struggle to bare children. Because she was having a boy, she hoped that Clarice would have a girl, so that they can see their children marry and succeed Clarice and her husband in becoming rulers of Sapphire City. However, that dream was further from coming true. If Clarice had a boy, perhaps their sons would be best friends. Either way, Ashley would be very happy. She was also scared of the idea of the King's Younger Brother succeeding him. What would happen to her and Clarice? She now also prayed that the King would recover from his illness and return to ruling the kingdom. As soon as the Servants returned with their beverages, Ashley got started in enjoying her food along with the queen, but took her time and ate small bites since the baby took up a lot of room and that didn't allow much room for her to eat most of the time. As she ate, the food felt nourishing, both for her and her unborn child. Running her fingers down her hair, she looked out the window. The skies were clear...which gave her hope that today would be a good day.

'I jinxed myself.' Theodore thought with a sigh as he finished his second to the last delivery. He gave a smile to the middle aged woman by the door and waved goodbye as he continued on his way. All that was left was the castle and he was extremely behind the schedule his uncle usually would give his deliveries. 'Then again, I'm pretty new here so it really can't be helped.' Well, not that it was much of an excuse, which he knew it wasn't. It's not just getting lost that put him behind schedule, it was also waking up late. Usually, things such as this would be no problem. He's rarely ever late back in Mondalia. Wind, alongside water, was his mastered element and it granted him speed to move quickly. 'But that was when I could use magic.' Well, he still could but he chose not to. After all, the reason he went to Sapphire City in the first place was to turn over a new leaf wherein he'd keep magic to a minimum.

After a long while, Theodore finally made it to his last destination. He ended up going through the same buildings about three times but nevertheless, he was happy knowing that he'd be able to go back to the bakery soon. Honestly, he preferred baking than going through the city. Well, he liked to move around and explore, but going through the same place over and over again - mostly because he often got lost - was not a very fun experience. Not as bad as when he tried to use weaponry, 'Not really something I want to think about.' Continuing his pace, Theodore arrived at the castle quickly and as usual, he took the back entrance. The guards allowed him to pass through, having known him for the past few days that he's spent in the city. The reason he didn't want to take the front entrance like anyone else was because he might encounter someone, like the queen perhaps. Despite being thought of as friendly and cheerful by those who knew him, he did have a tendency to be shy.

"Hello, sorry I'm late." Well, he was usually late but this was later than usual. He gave the bread to one of the servants who were working - who gave him a small lecture about punctuality. Hearing what the other had to say, he guessed his uncle would give him the same words. Not something he was looking forward to. He apologized once more with a small smile - with a promise to be earlier next time, one that he'll do his best to keep - before moving to leave the kitchen.

Rays of sunlight shone through the small glass window in Faunalyn's room that slowly grew brighter until the sun had come up fully over the mountains and trees, and had now completely illuminated her entire room. Faun slowly shifted herself out of bed, rubbing her eyes and placed her feet on the ground. Faun was usually the one to wake up very early, but she had a terrible nights rest, so she wanted to sleep in for a little while. Unfortunately, upon doing so, she ended up having a bad dream, and when she remembered what it was about, it made her quite depressed. She walked over to the other side of her room and looked out the small window that was partially covered in ivy and vines and obstructed her view of the outside. Faun waved her hand slowly and made the small vines bend and twist, and begin to grow around the outside of the window instead of in front of it. There that's better she thought as she looked out over the rooftops and buildings of Blue River and out towards the forest and mountains. She thought about what had occurred in her dream last night.

The whole event had played back in her mind, what had happened that one night when she was just a child. It was when those horrible people came and destroyed her village and had attacked her people. She saw her mother and father once again, but they slowly began to disappear from sight and then, she awoke from her dream. Faun sighed, she didn't like to think about what had happened but she really couldn't help if it had happened in her dream and she could not control it or stop it. Faun thought of something else, something that would make her feel happier, like the thought of her parents and maybe other fairies like her coming to find her and bring her back home, or at least what was left of it. It's been eleven years, their not coming back. It's alright though you have a wonderful life here Faun reassured herself. Though she did have a great life here in Blue River, she did feel quite lonely, being the only fairy and the only user of magic in this town, but everyone was nice here, especially Serena would had so kindly agreed to care for her all those years ago. She still missed her real mother and father though, and longed to show them the spells she learned to cast, and the magic she had taught herself how to use. Faun didn't even know how to fly yet when she was living with her mother and father, they would be so proud to see that she had learned all by herself.

Faun pushed those thoughts aside, she wanted to go into the woods, practice her magic or shooting her bow, or just simply relaxing, maybe it would take her mind off things. She walked to her closet and put on an ice blue dress and headed out her door. "Serena, are you awake? I'm going out," She called out softly, but did not get a response. She looked in her room to see if she was still asleep, but she was not their. Serena had probably just gone into town to sell some of the potions and other things that she sold as a merchant. Sometimes Serena would go on long trips around Evertrue on her own and sell the items and other things she had, but if she had done so she would have left a note so Faun would not get worried. Faun knew she was in town and did not worry. Faun grabbed her quiver full of arrows she had made herself and strapped it around her. She grabbed her wooden long bow that was hanging up over the mantle and headed out the door. It was humid and misty outside, meaning it must have rained a lot the previous night, but the air was still cool and a chilling breeze would blow through the area once in a while. Faun walked along the stone path until she had gotten close to the forest, and strayed off of it and onto the soft green grass and ventured forward into the woods. She thought about the dream she had, and about her parents, and the other fairies.

A cool wind blew through the trees, it was a strong breeze that made the trees shake and leaves fall to the ground and occasionally a few sticks and twigs. Faun always loved being in the forest, it calmed her down when she became upset and made her feel like she had freedom to do whatever she wanted to do. It helped her think too, which was good because she really just wanted some time alone to think about her dream, and her mother and father. She hoped that one day while she was walking through the woods that she would come across her parents looking for her, or maybe she would meet another fairy like herself, she always hoped something amazing like that would happen to her but she must have expected for it to happen so much, that it never did occur to her that when you expect something to happen and you replay it over and over again in your mind that it is almost certain never to happen. She sighed, and thought to herself I feel like there are other fairies out there, others like me. Maybe my parents never made it, but there has to be other fairies or other users of magic out there. Faun suddenly had an idea, one she had pondered about for a long time. A part of her didn't like it, but the other part of her knew that it might help her find others like her, or even better yet, her parents. Maybe I... maybe I should leave. Leave this town and travel, looking for other users of magic or other fairies like me. I should stop waiting here for my parents when I know they are not going to return She thought. Faun had this idea pop into her head every once in a while and, well, she was nineteen now, she really should think about considering it. But she was hesitant, she really just wanted to make up her mind about it today rather than just dwell on the idea of it happening. She stopped walking and saw a target that she had place on a tree a long time ago that was worn down from being hit by arrows all these years. Faun reached back and took out an arrow and placed in her bow, she held up her bow and pulled back, aiming at the center of the target.

Clarice took the time to carefully help herself from the platters of food, rather disappointed that the servants hadn't brought out a bread basket like they usually did, but satisfied that she at least had pancakes to make up for it. It was very rare that she knew what would be served for a meal - she liked to be surprised, so she told the servants to just cook anything. Whatever they had the most ingredients for, whatever was cheapest that day, whatever they weren't shorted on, whatever they felt like eating... Clarice was happy with anything, so the servants made all sorts of different meals every day, and the young Queen thoroughly enjoyed whatever they put in front of her.

For a woman with so much on her mind, Clarice found herself quiet as she ate. Taking the time to enjoy the food - the fluffiness of the pancakes, the sweetness of the syrup, the juiciness of the fruits... Clarice could at least distract herself from her problems for a few minutes.

"Your majesty?"

Clarice held back a sigh and quickly swallowed her mouthful of food, turning to face the servant who had entered and giving him a warm, welcoming smile. "Yes, how can I help you?" she asked in a gentle voice.

"A few of the renovation planners from Slanait arrived this morning," the servant said. "Lord Harring met with them, he asked that I deliver the paperwork for you to review and sign. The planners had wanted the King's signature but Lord Harring said that yours would do as well."

Clarice smiled, outstretching one hand. The servant handed her a short stack of papers and she took them gently, setting them down beside her on the table. "Thank you," she said. "Where should I send these when I finish reviewing them?"

"Oh, Lord Harring said that he would handle communications with the builders, so just have somebody deliver them to his study and that should do well enough. The planners said they would return later in the day - they wished to give you enough time to review them without taking you from your other Queenly duties," the servant said.

"Very well," Clarice replied with a nod. "Thank you for bringing these." With a quick bow, the servant left, and Clarice let out that sigh she'd held back before. Her brown eyes fell upon Ashley and she gave a small smile and a shake of her head. "It never ends," she mused, delicately cutting another piece off her short stack of pancakes. "It just keeps on coming..."

The amount of things going on for Clarice honestly did worry Ashley. It was almost as if she could never catch a break. If her husband was well again, perhaps? "Yeah. You can never catch a break, can you?" She asked, showing concern for the Queen. With this amount of workload, Ashley only wished that the Queen could get some rest for a change. With her husband bed ridden, that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Wait, couldn't Clarice adopt? That was what most couples did whenever they could not conceive a child. But then again, perhaps Clarice wanted to have a child of her own, that's her own flesh and blood. Ashley then started holding her back as an expression of discomfort and pain hit her face, before letting out a sigh. It was too early for her to be going into labor, so she didn't worry about that. If anything, it was just the back pain that she dealt with on a daily basis.

Clarice smiled, shaking her head and letting out a slight laugh at Ashley's words. "No, it really seems I can't," she said, smiling over at her friend. "At this point I'm starting to think I'll have to write to Aurélie for help just managing all this, and we all know how she'll be if she has to come back..." Clarice sighed. Aurélie was her stepdaughter, the King's daughter by his first wife. She was in the City of Telia studying at the university, and Clarice preferred that it stay that way - though she had tried her best to become friends with Aurélie when she first moved into the castle, the girl seemed determined not to like her. Clarice had eventually found herself avoiding the teenager so they wouldn't be constantly butting heads, not wanting to upset her husband. She did love the girl, she did try to care for her as if she was her own, she did stress to the girl that she wasn't trying to replace her mother, but Aurélie was stubborn and made it almost impossible for them to have a relationship. Clarice had been more than a little relieved when she had learned that Aurélie was going to be going away to the university.

She reached over and lifted up the top paper from the pile, skimming over it with her pretty brown eyes. From what she could see of the first page, it looked as though what she'd been handed was exactly what she'd requested. The planners had surveyed the servants' quarters and were going to be performing renovations. The plan was to make the bedrooms larger by eliminating the two sitting rooms in the servants' quarters so that the rest of the rooms could be expanded and, perhaps, another room or two could be added. Then, two of the spare rooms upstairs would be renovated into sitting rooms for the servants so they'd have a place to relax and socialize with one another when they weren't working, outside of their bedrooms. Along with making the bedrooms larger, Clarice wished to have them painted and carpeted, and once the renovations were done she would be buying new beds for all of the rooms. This plan didn't cover that part of her plan - it simply addressed the changes that would be made to the physical space itself, the walls that would be moved and removed, all that.

"Just lie him down there, quickly now."

{Lyn pointed to a table sitting across the room of the large open medical area for patients, where she usually went to heal worriers or any accidents and such. But she isn't in her village within the Blue River, but within the walls of Sapphire City, they called for her expertise in healing. When fully rested she can heal minor wounds, burns, stabbings, and some magical wounds with ease. The more critical wounds took her a bit longer, with a bit more energy. But there have been times that she has even saved someone from a wound, that would have been fatal. In the room she worked within there are several beds with patients from an accidental explosion or something. She didn't get all the details, but someone apparently didn't do something right. Along with high tables for the more critically hurt patients, and for easier access to them. Several cabinets lined walls with medicines, bandages etc. She didn't really need any unless she came across one that got hit by whatever they were making, some of the poison from their work seeping deep into the skin of any that was in the way. She wears a long flowing white robe that most healers wore to keep their everyday clothes clean, her fiery orange hair is braided into a bun on her head, and her purple gaze is set and focused.

She walked to the new patient, wiping sweat from her brow. As soon as she got in she went straight to work, and hadn't stopped. Luka, a rather large wolf...about two times bigger then your average male wolf, stood off to the side panting slightly harder then normal, her constant use of her healing powers was starting to drain their energy. Though he wasn't a normal wolf, and one could tell not only by his size but by his fur and eyes. His eyes are a brilliant electric green, his fur is soft and a shimmery silver as if the stars themselves fell down to leave kisses along his fur. To finish it off, his fur is tipped with pitch black markings. So yes its obvious he isn't a normal wolf but a demon wolf. Sent to kill her and her love to be matter of fact. Their four years here though has brought them together, and she had forgiven him for killing her fiance. So that they both could live in peace, protecting one another. He could speak, though only to her and usually keeps to himself away from others, for he sometimes has a temper and that can effect her mood if she isn't careful. She would hear a low grumble touch her mind, knowing he was getting irritated from so much energy loss. But she is close to being done, this being the last who needed medical attention.}

M-"Come on.....Aren't you done yet? Or are you going to keep going until we pass out?"

M-"Calm yourself Luka, it wont be much longer. We don't need an outburst in the middle of all these people."

{Luka would snort at her, then move to lie down out of everyone's way, but Lynette could still feel how impatient he was. She pushed away his feelings and payed attention to her last patient. The one that was hit with the most brunt of the magical bomb, burns ran all down her neck and arms. Several shards of glass embedded in her flesh here and there. She first gently took out the pieces of glass, while instructing an assistant to bring her a syringe with something for the pain. She wouldn't be able to heal it all, but hopefully enough to keep her stable and alive. She injected the serum into the girls crease of her elbow, then went to work on the minor cuts. Her hands would gently touch the torn flesh, not minding the blood on her hands. Her fingers would start to glow a soft yellowish golden light, the girl would wince at first, but then her features would change into a soft relaxed look. The medicine she injected wont take effect for a bit, but the warmth from her healing would help the pain while she healed. The small cuts, and scraps would disappear as if she never had any. The more critical burns would only lose their bright red color and turn a deep pink, with still irritation but she would be fine and fully healed in a day or two.

Lyn felt light headed, and had to step away, she nearly fell but ended up leaning against soft warm fur. Luka looked up at her with concern in his eyes. She would smile softly down at him, amazed he wasn't ready to fall over but she could feel him shaking. She would give him a gentle pat on the head, then would straighten herself.}

"Come, lets go get something to eat. Get our energy back up."

{He would give a soft bark in agreement, but first Lyn woyld go wash up before turning to go out to the street. Those inside looked at her funny when she spoke to the wolf like she had, but didn't question her. She normally didn't speak out loud to him, but did on occasion. Normally though she wouldn't to raise suspicion, about their link. Though he could not speak to anyone but her through their link. She would step out now wearing(look at file for better idea tmp_12341-Tauriel-Atomix-512x10241575493741.jpg) long brown leather breeches, brown knee length leather boots, and a long hunter green robe with gold stitching the only nice thing she made away with when her and her love planned to run away. She also has a hand made bow se crafted herself, and a simple leather quiver with about 8 arrows. She would find a small tavern and entered with Luka behind her, she had to have him with her at all times. If they separated to far apart, it would start to drain their energy till they died. She would have a seat an order herself some bread, a small piece of cheese and a nice beef stew and water. She would get Luka a raw steak, and a bowl of water.
