(Beginning of Expedition)

{She stood there looking out over the tropical land, the trees and large boulders over the vast rolling land. Its early morning, the sun high in the air, even though it was mid November it was still rather warm and humid. She is dressed in leather breeches, boots, and the hunter green robe she had been in when she left Sapphire City, and traveled by boat with a friend to The City of Kurvaria. She was grateful for that friend allowing her to cross for free, promising to give them a good amount to gold is she happened to be successful on her journey. She is traveling very lightly, spending 12g on some arrows to give her a total of 20 from the few she had already. The arrows are in her light leather quiver over her shoulder, along with the decent bow she crafted herself. Having learned how to when her love was alive and her new instructor. She carries a small pouch on her waist, with just a half loaf of breed and a bit of cheese wrapped in leaves.

That cost her just 6g, leaving her with just 64g left over. She carries but only to little food because she can hunt her own meat if need to so she will still have free room for items that she planed to find. Luka stands next to her sniffing lightly at the air, his wet nose twitching slightly before turning his head up to Lynette. His ears would swivel on his head, his tail swaying back and forth lightly. Lyn would give him a soft smile, and beings they stood along deep with the tropical forest she would speak out loud to him. }

"Ready? We can do this, I know we can."

{She would speak reassuringly to her demon wolf companion, he would give a nod and they would move forward. Their pace is decent, not to fast, not to slow. She had only heard the rumors, and had a quick glance of the map the drunk man had had. But she could really use that bow, a bit of gold is she was lucky. But really the bow is her main want in all of this. She heard that she would find two really tall trees that would have some sort of entrance that would take her to an underground tomb, that had been buried by a horrid deadly storm. She had already traveled a days time to Cenotaph, and she could feel it....like she was getting close to something strong.}

M-"I can't believe we are doing this....seems pointless to me really."

{Luka would grumble in complaint, he sure was a grumpy demon wolf about almost all the time. But she was used to it, and he was much kinder to her then he used to be. Actually he was much kinder to people in general. He used to be so ill and cranky that he would snap at anyone who looked at him funny. She knew she had to have some form of influence on him, but he still has a very nasty temper that easy to set off. While she generally has a calm and collected attitude, and is hard to upset. So they went back and forth on each other. They would stop for a moment, finding a nice cool spring of water to refresh themselves. Luka caught a rabbit and ate it happily, while she just enjoyed some cheese and bread.}

{Once they finished up with relaxing and resting, they would continue on. The tropical forest seemed to be kind of eerie, the deeper they went in the more so it seemed. A slight fog rolled in, but nothing to bad so that they couldn't see. It settled on the ground and rolled in gently as a thin sheet of misty white. Luka's hairs raised up on the back of his neck, noting a rotten scent that seemed to get worse as they traveled deeper into the forest. They came to a thick brush of hanging vines and such, with her small thin 5'2 stature...yea small for an elf, but with her small stature the vines were easy to weave through. Luka had to chew through some, or have her help move some out of his way. The last bit seemed a bit thicker then normal, but they pressed through, shoving so hard they fell out into tall weeded and green grass.

A sickly sweet scent came from the big circular field, with two giant trees wrapped around each other at the top before spreading apart into an arch when it reached the ground. Lyn's gaze would look up in awe, while she felt Luka's unease spreading through her veins. She would look down at him, and give him a gentle pat on his head, witch she didn't have to reach far. Standing on all four, his head would reach up at her chest. But on anyone about 6ft or taller he would be a bit above their waist. Yea she could pretty much ride him, but normally didn't unless in severe situations, because he could indeed run faster then she could. They would make their way over to the two trees, but would see no sign of an entrance. Her head would tilt slightly, curious wondering what they should try. Luka would bark at her, catching her attention. He scratched at what looked like the top of a statues head that had been sunk down into the earth, this had to be it. Excitement grew in the pit of her stomach.

They continued to walk around the tree's in search of their entrance, that was until the ground suddenly fell out from beneath her. A loud shriek would leave her from the sudden startle, and She would fall into a tunnel, sliding down in a spiral of dirt and rocks. Luka's heart would race as he didn't take a moment to think, and jumped straight in to fallow after. Lynette would fall with a slightly rough thud, the end of the tunnel thankfully not being far off the ground. She could hear Luka not to far behind and would roll out of the way, just in time for him to land next to her.}

"You okay Luka?"

M"Yea....But i'd rather know you are okay."

"I'm fine, lets move this along, by the looks of it we wont be welcome here."

{His thoughts touched her mind, and she would nod lightly. She had a scrape on her right hand, but nothing more. She would stand, and straighten out herself. Pitch black, for her anyway, until she placed her hand on Luka's back. With their bond, she was able to barrow his site. Witch in complete darkness he could see perfectly, she couldn't see as good, but enough to move around and see about 7 feet infront of her. But she couldn't move her hand or they would lose the connection. The room they happened to be in seemed like it was kept for a dead end, for the person to get lost in for it was a simple empty stone room.}

Bailor saw the sun which was brightly pouring in through the window. She groaned as she dramatically rolled off of the bed and into the floor. She had a long night, for her grandmother's coughing kept her awake, so she didn't get to rest until the moon was leaving his throne in the sky. She slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Grandmother? Are you awake?" Usually the old lady was sitting up reading by this time of day. Since there was no response, she rose from the floor and sleepily walked to her grandmother's bedside. She gave the old woman a poke or two to see if she would wake. Old Lady Woods remained asleep. Bailor assumed that her new medications had knocked her out. She shrugged and threw on a green dress so she could make her way to the medic's place. She slid on her sandals and headed out the door while pulling her bangs back with a ribbon that matched her dress color. She enjoyed going for walks through the town. Plenty of lovely people lived in Blue River. Plenty of lovely people who liked to talk. So there was plenty of not-so lovely gossip to hear, and listening to gossip was one of the young fox's favorite things to do. But today was grocery day. She headed to the market place to see what all she could find.

{There seemed to be nothing more of real interest here, but they kept a close eye on their surroundings, treading slowly and gently. You never knew what you would find in one of these tombs, you could run into anything. Booby traps, some kind of fierce creature, dangerous weather. The possibilities were endless when you were in an old ancient tomb. When they reached the exit of the room, she felt Luka tug on her robe, she would turn and fallow his gaze to the ceiling of the room. It would seem she wasn't the only one who fell in the tunnel searching for the place. On the ceiling you could see long sharp spikes made of stone, and the remaining bones torn clothing, and faded blood of someone who happened to step on the wrong stone. She winced, that couldn't have been a fun way to go. In fact she could see the stone he or she stepped on right beneath them. It must have latched the door shut, and he would have had to find a way to get out...but obviously didn't make it. She could see a small pouch around the skeletons waist, but she wasn't sure it was worth it or not.

She decided against as to not set off the trap again, for some could reset themselves, besides he couldn't have gotten out this way so he must have been traveling in and probably only has a bit of gold. Out of the door would lead her to an inter section of long hallways, with two or three doors down each section. She decided to hang a left, and continued to walk cautiously, she wasn't sure what she was looking for. But she had an idea, and that was better then nothing right? Still she had to be careful or face dire consequences, and she would rather not. It felt like they had been walking for ever, the halls long and boring with the occasional door. Some would be open, others closed. She would peek in some of them only finding some coffins here and there and nothing of interest. It was till she got to a larger wooden door near the end of the tunnel, she could tell it wasn't the main tomb area, were the gold and other valuable items would be.

But it was definitely a special door that led to something, some kind of old ancient writing went around the edge of the door frame. Luckily for her, and the fact her parents had been so strict in her studies when she was younger, she could understand the majority of it. It took her a few minutes though to decipher the words on the door saying, "All ye who enter, searching for liquid magic, take caution but hurry. Move to fast and pay the price, move to slow be trapped forever. A hint you shall have, for your coming of trial, for using it would be worthwhile. Step in the pattern upon the walls, for if not you will surely fall." Luka looked up at her, having listened to Lynette read it allowed, he shook his head vigurously.}

M-"Bad idea.....don't do it, you need me to see in this pitch black place."

M-"Then be my eyes, we can do this.....something good must be on the other side."

{Luka would huff softly but gave in, they didn't know what would be waiting for them on the other side. Lynette would push on the heavy door, to reveal a large stone room. The stones on the floor are huge, big enough for her and Luka to both stand on, with weird symbols on each one. All the way across the room, she could see a soft glow of something on a pedestal. The walls she could only see a little, but some of the symbols on the floor were on the walls as well. She would give Luka one last glance of her deep purple gaze.}

"Are Y=you ready Luka?"

Bailor continued her walk to the marketplace. The town was quiet, nothing but the soft breeze wrestling with the leaves and the occasional soft laughter of children was to be heard. Majority of the adults were probably having a town meeting. Bailor's grandmother had told her about the meetings. From what she knew, they were awfully boring. She couldn't understand why anyone would want to go at all. She would have to come back to the market place later on when more of the local venders were out selling. She decided a walk through the woods seemed much more inviting than sitting in a room with her grandmother.

She made it to the edge of the woods, her clothes falling as she changed into fox form. She pulled her clothes to a safe spot beneath her favorite tree and took off. The way the wind flowed through her fur was calming to the mind and electric to the body. The feeling of being free flooded through her. Nothing could compare in her mind.

As she approached the creek she came to a stop. She had always wanted to try and fish, unfortunately none bathed in this stream. So instead she used a much simpler substitute: leaves. She would paw at the ones nearby, scooping them swiftly to her teeth. Every time she would make a "catch" she would joyfully prance around in victory. Falling in only happened on occasion, and as she did this more the occasion ran to be less and less.

Bailor grew weary of attempting to slaughter leaves. So she curled up under an unfamiliar oak to rest.

(First Dangerous Trial)

{He would give a light nod of his head, before turning to gaze out like she did. The first set of the stone floor is plain. No symbol marked them, and they had no choice to step on it because it was first, but that was just to give the one entering a fair chance. She took a moment to study the markings on the walls, all different types of creatures, or ancient gods and goddesses. Some are symbols of death, while others were good omens. If one couldn't read them, you could tell the difference between a spear through someones body, and a god standing on a cloud. That is if the person could manage to read the scripture around the door, and still that is were she was lucky having studied other languages and writings. It was important for a Princess to learn such things, so that when they became Queen they could speak to many people from all over the world. And yes in her land, some old ancient dialect is still used.

Though right now she wouldn't exactly consider herself a Princess anymore, by now her parents have either had another child or decided upon another Royal family member as the next heir to the throne. She loved her people, but she was being forced into a marriage....she wanted to be with Seth, and even then she lost her love. She didn't blame Luka anymore, when at first she hated him entirely and even tried to kill him once. In the process of her almost killing them both, she found her peace of mind, and now herself and Luka took care of each other. After studying the wall, she would study the floor, seeing where was a good place and were wasn't. Once she got a general understanding she was ready, and indicated to Luka that he fallow her every move. So that she could still see, the first stone they stepped on creaked, and the sudden sound of stone grinding against stone rang through the room.

Instantly she started to move faster, eyes staying on the stones, hand digging into Luka's fur. He didn't miss a beat, he fallowed quickly an smoothly. Half way across the room, they were getting closer, both their hearts raced in union. She wasn't sure what the sound was for, but so far none of the stones tried to fall away or at least nothing bad happened. That was until the next stone Luka moved a little to far away and she lost her grip in his fur. Everything would go pitch black again, losing her visual connection with Luka. She did her best not to move from the spot she stood in, but she had already been stepping to the next stone. Her foot would just catch the edge of a wrong stone, and almost instantly it would drop, and she went with it. A scream would leave her, but just as soon as she started to fall, she felt Luka's cold nose against the back of her neck. He had managed to bite into the hood of her robe, and quickly started puling Lyn up. But the touch of his nose gave her vision back to see the stone floor falling away and shattering into pieces over jagged rocks? But no, she would see a bright orange flare up as the floor cracked and the room got hotter.

Hot lava started to pool up over the burnt lava that kept it at bay. It was time to move faster, and this time Luka led as she shouted out were to go next, whole she clung onto his tail.They would reach the end finally, while all the bad pieces of the floor started to fall away and open up more holes for lava to spill out and it was rising. She reached for a snagged a small round glass bottle and shoved it into her pouch, she didn;t even check to see what it looked like. Luka snarled at her to get on his back, she did just that, all that were left were the good stones so they couldn't make any wrong moves. But the door was slowly starting to close, she clung to Luka as tight as she could and he lunged forward. Running and leaping on and over stones to others in a hurry to get out, the closer they got it seemed the door only crept closer to being closed. His paws beat angrily against the ground nearing the door, he would leap into the air just as the stone below him started to fall.}

"Luka!!! Hurry!!!"

{Eyes closed she shouted out, before being tossed from Luka's back and hitting a wall with a little more force then she would have liked. The cold air reassured her, along with the click and locking of the door from the room they had somehow managed to escape. She gasped for air, while her demon wolf painted heavily on the floor next her. The wind knocked out of them both, but they are alive and well....barely. She patted Luka gently, then fished out a small canteen of water. She drank some herself, then poured some into a large leaf for Luka to lap up. They would sit there and rest, watching the door uneasily as if the lava was going to come seeping out, but none came. She would allow them to rest for about an hour, mostly for Luka, but even then she was as tired as he felt. While they did she would pull out the bottle to get a better look at it, the liquid inside glowed brightly, and looked shimmery and mystical. The bottle sealed firmly with a cork.

She couldn't tell what it was, but she hoped it would be something good for all the hard work she did for it. But she didn't want to pass up an opportunity to get that bow she wanted so badly. Even though it wasn't the bow, she still planed on venturing further in search of it. She would stand ready to move again, having still about half a canteen of water and some food left over from catching a rabbit for food instead of eat all of what she had. But they had a big breakfast to, so she was sure they would be good for a while, water is more important and they would need to look for some at some point but right now they are fine. Again they continued to walk, headed down the long hall till they came to another inter section of another four halls. They went on till she found an old room that almost look like someones work office. A stone table, a few wooden cabinets and such. She would look over the room closely, but it had useless things and such.

Onward to another inter section, it almost felt like they were lost, but with Luka and his great sense of smell she was sure they were going in an at least fairly correct direction. This time they would go right, never going the same direction, or what would seem like a square so they wouldn't go in circles. She checked rooms that she trusted, and read any ancient writings she saw. She would pull her hair up into a bun on her head, revealing her long pointed ears that she usually kept hidden under her hair. But it would probably be a better idea to help keep her from getting it in her face.}

M-"That was close back there, lets not do that again shall we? "

{Lynette would give a half hearted light laugh, yea she didn't really like it but they had to get it over with.}

"Sorry, but hey we got something good out of it. I hope anyway."

M-"Yea, and we almost burned up in a pit of lava too."

{She grinned sheepishly down at him, though he was picking at her that last bit. They both love a good adventure, though the dying part isn't as appealing they have nothing else left but to hide from her parents and such. Though she doubted they were searching for her, she was none of their concern and she wasn't worried about claiming the throne at all. She was fine with her happy serene life in River Blue. She didn't need to be the richest highest of Royalty elf, all she wanted to was to live happily....maybe get married one day and have a child. She doubted it though, she wasn't sure her heart could love another after the lose of Seth. That had been the hardest thing to get over, that and accepting Luka, who she now trusted with her life.}

M-"I'm still so sorry Lynette....for everything."

{She could feel it coming before he even spoke, it was normal for him to apologize to her any time she started feeling heart broken over Seth. She would even have nightmares sometimes, of seeing her dead love in Luka's jaws. But she really has forgiven him, and trusts him and she knows he can feel that through their bond. Before she could even speak again, he stops infront of her to get her full attention. His tail sways back and forth, his electric green eyes taking hold of her deep amethyst gaze. She would stop, and stand silently waiting for him to speak to her, of course if anyone were around it would just look like the two are having a starring contest.}

M-"I know, you trust me i trust you....but i owe you so much. I'll try and say it less, But i can't think of anything else that i could do."

"What about saving my life back there? I could have been one crispy elf."

{They would laugh, and she would pat him on his head once more. Gently scratching behind his ears, and making his leg twitch like crazy. Despite being a demon wolf, he pretty much acted like a normal dog sometimes. She enjoyed his company, and she knew he enjoyed hers. It was impossible for them to lie to each other, because no matter what, it seemed like they couldn't even block each other out. And that was okay, they had been living like that together for the past four years almost, she was used to it. She wasn't sure if either of them were going to ever be able to let things go completely, but the life they had worked, and that is what mattered. They would take a moment to rest next to a large statue they found in the middle of the hall. They had a little bit of water, and she shared two pieces of beef jerky between the two. }

"I could and would never hate you, not anymore. It was a long time ago, and you were just doing what they ordered you to do. That's what they bred you for, besides it worked out. You were going to be my new guard in the end, and here you are."

M-"Yes that's true, we spent a lot of time together when you were a young child, if i would have know it was going to be you and Seth i wouldn't have attacked."

"I know."

{She would say softly and finish up her jerky and the water she had evened out between them. Just a small amount of water left, they would have to find some soon. So they would get back up, and carry on as they had before. Walking and searching, fallowing Luka's nose to were ever it was leading them. They eventually reached a dead end and had to turn around, taking another tunnel. Passing more doors, and interesting rooms that held nothing of value or interest. She wasn't sure what time it was now, they had gotten in early morning so if she had her guess almost noon. As they walked along she noticed that they neared another door that looked like the last one. It wasn't the main entrance to the tomb, but it was important that she could tell just like the last one.

However this door did not have any writing on it telling her what would lie ahead of them. It just stood their looking menacing, but inviting all at the same time. She could feel Luka tugging on her robe, his eyes begging her not to go in. She would give him a light smile, and reassure him with a scratch along the back of his ears. He whined a little, but was mostly concerned abut her then himself. She would just give him sheepish grin, then move forward to open the door.}

(Second Dangerous Trial)

{As soon as the door is pushed open the sweet scent of flowers, and growing foliage reached her and Luka's nose. It wasn't poisoness or anything, but the reason for the smell was because this room has a forest growing within it. A large big opened room, hard to tell were it ends its so full and thick of trees, bushes, vines and tropical flowers. Her amethyst gaze looks over it all closely, wondering why there was no riddle on the door to help her out. She didn't know the reason, but she was sure the door wouldn't latch shut. it had no special holes or hinges just a normal looking door. She didn't even need Luka to see, a large hole in the roof seemed to be letting in a ray of sunlight giving the forest the ability to grow in here.

They would venture on in, it was almost as if they were back on the tropical forest they crossed through to get here. They could even hear the light chirp of birds, and the buzz of insects. It was nice being able to see and breath in fresh air, even if they were still somewhere lost within the tomb. As they walked along, they both kept their guards up, there was no time to relax now. Who knew what they would come across, some feral creature, at least that would be her guess. They had something here, that they had hoped would kill the person before they made it back to the door. But as to what it is, she wouldn't know. Luka was picking up normal scents you would find in a tropical forest. The musky bark from trees, the sweet smell of fruit and the rush of water. Water! Finally, she was afraid they wouldn't find any before they got dehydrated.

As they went in deeper, the soft sound of rushing water would touch her ears, Luka's own ears swiveled widely on top of his head. Around a few tall trees and they would see a gorgeous view of a small open area with a water fall, cascading down into a nice pool of water. The water came from outside from the big hole in the ceiling. Maybe that's what caused it all, the growing of the trees and so on. After it was tested by running her hand over the surface and using her healing powers, the water would ripple with a golden glow. That meant the water was safe to drink, no poisons detectable. She and Luka would drink from the water, then she would fill her small canteen for later. She was even able to find some star fruit, she would cut up one and eat it with the rest of her bread, while Luka caught himself another rabbit. It was important to keep your energy up, especially in an unknown place.

They started to pack up and venture on, but the wind started to pick up. It was weird and odd because she couldn't see any clouds from the hole everything was so calm. But the wind, it was starting to churn up burst so strong it almost sent her off her feet. Then rain started to pound down in a heavy retort. Fallowed by the rumble of thunder and the crack of lightning. She ran to the side of the wall with the waterfall, pressing her back against it with Luka right next to her. She looked around desprately trying to find somewhere to go, the rain was so thick she was already soaked to the bone. But out of the corner of her eye she saw it, right under the waterfall is a cave. She moved forward, grabbing Luka's scruff to pull him in its direction. They would slip inside, were the sound of the wind, thunder and lightning echoed. Luka would probably barely be able to hear her over it all, so she simply spoke to him mentally.}

M"-Well, we could be hear a while."

{Luka would grumbled inwardly then sniff at the air, his nose twitching. She could feel his mood change from miserable to curious. she reached for him and connected to his sight once more. The cave walls were jagged with rocks. This really made no sense, a cave connection to a tomb? Oh well, it is what it is and she had no real time for questions. She felt something on her leg, and would have freaked out if she didn't notice a long vine had gone along for a ride around her ankle. She would grab the thick sturdy green foliage and wrapped it up like rope then tide it to her belt. You never know, one could need such a thing. She could see though that the cave kept going deeper back, they had no other choice but to fallow so she did.}

(Continued Second Dangerous Trial)

{The musty smell of an old cave touched their noses, she wasn't exactly happy about the scent, but that was because it messed with poor Luka's nose and his hatred for it seeped into her viens making her mood a little sour. She tried to think of happier things to counter it, witch caught his attention and made him calm down some. As they traveled further, the musty smell grew stronger, of stagnant water and molded moss covered cave walls. Maybe there was water further in? When it finally seemed as if it would never end they came to a big open room, circular like a dome. The ceiling is high, and almost seems impossible, the floor is long and smooth. Right in the center is a wooden pedestal, with a glowing box sitting right on the top of it. It looks to her that this just might be the bow, for all the gold usually resided in the main room. Witch she wasn't sure she planed to go to or not yet, the bow was her main concern.

She started across, with Luka at her side, but she was slow and cautious. But she couldn't see anything dangerous, just a smooth dark floor, the cave walls, and the one pedestal with a box. She grew braver, a little too brave in fact. Marching right on across, high hopes playing with her mind. Finally she was going to have it, an enchanted bow and sh..... What the hell? She stops right in her tracks, not because she wanted to but because something stopped her. She turned to look at Luka and he too had stopped. It too a moment for it to "Sink" in that she was sinking and at a rather alarming state. She could feel Luka panic, and watched as he tried to wiggle out with thrashes. It only made them sink faster, she is now up past her knees in quick sand.}

"Luka stop!!! You will only make us sink faster!!!"

{She spoke softly at first, but then barked out her words with a firm resounding sound demanding his panicked attention. He whimpered softly, but stopped, you couldn't even see his legs anymore. Okay she had to think....she had to get them out of this. And if she didn't fast, their journey would end here.}

M-"Do you have a better plan? How else are we getting out?"

{He sneered at her, but she knew he was only panicked and wasn't thinking straight, the sear of anger that hit her she would let cool down before speaking and telling him to let her think. To search for something they could use to get out with, they weren't close enough to land. She would let a finger lightly touch the surface infront of her, to make sure they couldn't just pull themselves out. She is now waist deep, and Luke has half his body covered. A light bulb went off, she pulled the vine she gathered earlier, pulled an arrow from her quiver, and pulled her bow off. She would hold one end of the vine out for Luka to bite down on, while she secured the other end to an arrow. She placed it in her bow, then she peered around for a place to shoot. Now the quick sand is past her waist and completely covered Luka's back, sending him into a panicked frenzy ,making his heart race. But he trusted her so he didn't thrash around like he had before.

She would let the arrow fly to the closest part of the wall, but the cave wall is to strong for her bow. She hears Luka begging her to hurry, like she had him when he was running for their lives in the lava pit area. She pulled the arrow back, then re positioned it, and this time aimed for the wooden pedestal hoping it was firmly in place. The arrow sunk deep into the wood meeting its mark, Luka's nose is barely above the quick sand, and she barely had a chance to grab the vine from his mouth, she would dig her hand into the quick sand and pull as hard as she could. Telling him to try to slowly walk upwards, instead of thrashing. She pulled on the vine, and found relief when they started to slowly move forwards. She would be even happier once they reached the end, slowly but surely they continued their trek. A long hard sigh would leave her when her hand found a hard stable floor, she would pull herself out first, then help Luka out.

There were both now covered in a dark thick sand, weighing them down a little bit. Luka shook off as much as her could, while she scrapped what she could off with her hands. What a clever trick, but lucky for them fate was on their side. She would take a moment to let them breath, and calm down. But her excitement to open the box was all but eating at her, she would walk over once rested decently. The box is cherry wood, with shiny silver hinges. She sees no ancient markings on it, and messes around looking behind it, under it. She didn't want to take any chances, but one she was satisfied she would lift the lid. A frown would fall on her face, and utter disappointment would reach her. It was for sure for a bow, you could see an indention were is sat nestled in the red velvet lining. However no bow would be found.}

M"This was for nothing?

{Luka sneered, not from anger at her but by whoever managed to get the bow before her. Dammit, she really wanted that bow and now it was gone. Actually now that she payed better attention, she could see an old arrow right next to her in the wood of the pedestal. So someone was here before her, huh....well then. She turned to look at Luka giving him a soft smile, she was upset too, disappointed not angry like Luka. She took a moment to think, they had to get back across, but with Luka he should be able to just jump with her on his back too. But she would still give them a little to rest, and hoped that storm was done with by the time they got back.}

"Yea, but you know maybe we could get a bit of gold before leaving? That should give us some to buy new materials for a new bow, and some other things."

{She tried to give him a positive outlook on things, but he was letting up on the grumpy. She would shrug, then tell him her plan. He agreed, she climbed on his back, but not before she shut the empty box and grabbed the vine she had used earlier just in case. Luka jumped easily onto the other side, were she would ger off and walk to the front of the cave. The storm seemed to have stopped, so they had a chance to take a moment to wash up. But only for a moment, for she didn't want a chance to get stuck with a bad storm like they almost had last time. She helped Luka wash all the sand from his fur, then she washed it from her own clothing. Once they finished they hurried in the direction of the door, luckily using the waterfall as a pin point, they were able to find it just in time for another random storm to start brewing. She would close the door behind them, then start off down the halls like they had before. Taking different turns, never taking the same path. It wouldn't be long till she found them coming to a long hall that is lit with torches, odd....Any who at the very end is a large golden door. Carvings of two warriors stood on each side, both with spears in their hands.}

"I think we found the main tomb."

{She spoke in awe at the beauty of it, while Luka stood in silence. Now maybe they could manage to get something nice, some gold or some other weapon? Who knew, but she was ready to go in, and Luka could feel her excitement. He too was sort of excited, but always put up a strong front to hide any small tiny bit of fear he had. He was brave, but sometimes even the strongest and most deadliest creatures were scared. They would walk to the large door, it stood about 15 feet tall, and 10 feet wide. Nothing seemed a miss, everything seemed perfectly fine, she would push on the large heavy door, with the help of Luka to open it. Both their eyes grew big, the tomb is massive. With rows of stone pillars, and walk ways. Gold itself is mixed in with the stone, something not really anyone would try to get away with. A lot of time, and energy would have to go into it, some spots though did look like someone strong punches them. The pillars and walkways are surrounded by cool smooth dark water, she couldn't tell how deep it was from looking at it, but she was sure it was deep. Across the room are steps leading up to two coffins side by side, must be a king and queens tomb. There are nice trinkets scattered all around them, with what looked like a few pikes of gold.

They would cautiously make their way across, the walkways wet with water, but how was that even possible? Unless maybe the water rises?, but then again other spots seemed dry. She kept her guard up, and could feel Luka's mood as tense. She was tense too, surely they had something here in the main tomb. The reached the steps and climbed them slowly, looking for any cracks that might be there for a trigger switch. They made it up to the coffins, she didn't take the time to see who's tomb she stole from. Only checked to see if the gold was cursed, seemed they weren't, so she wuld take some. About 250g would be in her side pouch, and if it wasn't for Luka shoving her to the side, a big scaly tail would have crushed her.}

(Final Dangerous Trial)

{She could hear it now, the hissing sound that came and fallowed the black curling tail. It led her to see a massive 17 foot long water serpent, its different though because it has long front arms like a dragon but no back legs or feet. Its glowing blood red eyes gleamed at her, and it almost looked like it had a smug look on its facial features. She would swallow hard as she watched its tongue flick out tasting the air, Luka snarled ferociously at it baring his teeth. In turn it hissed, exposing its own long fangs dripping with venom.}

M-"Move would you!!!"

{Luka's mental snap at her, seemed to put life back into her body. She would leap up and run to the right, while Luka took off to the left. The snake lunged forward missing them both, but making the whole tomb shake from its strong thundering attack. That must be the other broken parts in the stone, and why only parts of the walk way were wet. She reached for her bow, and an arrow getting it ready. She could hear Luka snarling loudly, surely he knew what actions she planed to take, so he wanted to get the serpents attention. She hid behind a pillar, and turned to peek and aim at its long black scaled back. She let the arrow fly, and it would meet its mark along its. Thankfully its skin was't to tough for her arrows. He would shriek out in pain, turning instantly in her direction. It dove into the water, then came splashing out on her side, but she was already weaving between pillars to the other side if the room. Watching her footing to stay face, she would hear another shriek from the serpent just as it tried to snap at her.

Her whole body could fit in its mouth, and she wasn't willing to see what that was like. But she turned seeing Luka on its back, teeth sinking deep into its upper neck. It was unable to reach him with his fangs that way, but easily pulled him off with its front scaly claws and toss him across the room. He whined in pain as he hit a pillar, it knocked the wind out him, instantly making her feel as if she couldn't breath. She ducked behind a pillar, trying to catch her breath. She could feel the serpent closing in. She fixed another arrow to her bow, turned around the corner ready to fire. The bow would leave her, and hit the tip of the serpents tail that was coming right at her. It wrapped around her waist after knocking her bow out of her hand, brought her up to its face and hissed right in it. She struggled in its grasp, only one arm free, the other wedged between her body and the serpents tail. It didn't bite her though, it only seemed to smile....as if it wanted to play with its food first.

"LU...."

{Her scream for her demon wolf is cut off by being dragged under water, having only a second to hold her breath. She couldn't see a whole lot, the torches from above did little to light the water below. She could see it was definitely large like the upper tomb area, and deep so deep she couldn't see anything but a soft glow at the bottom. But not to deep that she couldn't see the top. The serpent glided through the water fast, flinging her around in its grasp. She tried wiggling free, but it was no use he had her good. She could hear splash from above, Luka waking up and coming to her as fast as he could. But the serpent was to fast, it resurfaced, taking her up to so she could gasp for air. Yea it was playing with her, it only gave her a moment to catch her breath before taking her back under again. Luka resurfaced some where else, to catch his breath, but it almost felt like he wasn't breathing though he is. He could just feel Lynette's struggle to hold her breath till the serpent decided to resurface. Just before it did, she caught a glimpse of the soft glowing thing she saw before. A bow!!!!! A bow trapped in the hand of someone's remaining bones.

So the bow was still here! She has a chance to get it, and she was going to take it...might as well try being a giant water serpent was trying to drown her. It would resurface again, and she gulp in as much air as she could. Sending a mental though to Lucka, not sure if the creature could understand her if she spoke out loud.}

M"The enchanted bow!! It's in the water, get it, i'll keep the serpent busy."

M"But he could kill you at any moment...."

M"If you get me that bow, i can get us out of here Luka...you can do it."

{She would send him word of encouragement, before hearing the splash of him going back down into the water. She looked back up at the snake, its tongue flicking out to lick her face. She would grown in disgust, turning her head away, her eyes locking on her arrow in the tip of its tail. She smiled widely grabbed for it, and yanked it out of its tails only to plunge it into one of its eyes. It shrieked, dropping her into the water and thrashed around. She pulled herself up on the ledge, and looked for her bow she had made. She would find it, but it would be broken in half useless now. All she had left now was Luka, and the Enchanted bow he was after.}

It was still hard to get a full night's sleep, even after all these months. If Leander ever obtained one again, he would consider himself a lucky man. Instead, he spent hours staring at a cracked clay ceiling. He rubbed the fabric of his sheets between his thumb and forefinger, making a circling motion until the pads of his fingers were raw. Eventually, the rough texture of the fabric would distract him from the endless spiral of thoughts in his mind, and he could sleep.

Morning brought no relief. It burned his eyes and beckoned a pounding headache to play in his skull. Leander groaned softly, grasping the blankets in his hands. He wrenched them over his head, trying to block out the world. When it became too stiflingly hot to breathe, the man finally pushed the covers away. As his sat up, the refreshingly cool air embraced his bare arms. Lee ran a hand through his messy blond hair, trying to smooth it down. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and rose with a groggy stumble toward the window.

Leander moved the curtains aside, placing his hands on the window sill. Below, the streets were alive with movement. He squinted against the light, allowing his eyes to adjust slowly. Months ago, a morning like this would have gotten him up before the sun. Now, there was nothing worth getting up that early for. However, if the day went well, that was all about to change.

Set in motion, Leander moved to the sink. A small mirror hung by it, and he took a moment to stare into his own blue eyes. For a moment, he could remember how he looked dressed in full armor, with a sword strapped to his side. It had been too long. He splashed cold water on his face, ran a wet towel over his body, and proceeded to get dressed. Once clad in ordinary clothes and a pair of sturdy walking boots, he grabbed his sack of belongings and stepped out the door of the inn.

The busy streets greeted him like an old friend. Lee had always felt at home in the cities... It was where he grew up. Of course, that had been a different city, and a different time. As he walked, he swung his pack up onto his shoulder, and then slid his other arm through the second strap. He'd been in Sapphire City for about a week, and decided he liked it there. People were happy here.. They didn't seem to conspire against each other, and ordinary people could speak freely with one another.

Today, he would try to put down roots for the first time in months. The City had a royal guard. While he would certainly prefer to be a knight again, being a guard would be a good step. It would also get him some money, which was essential considering that he was running out of what he'd left Glymn City with.

Ahead on the road, a gate protected the main castle from intruders. Anyone exiting or entering needed to be approved during certain times of the day. "Hello!" He called in a strong, clear voice. On the wall stood a guard, who looked down at him with a polite smile. "My name is Leander Crownsend. I'm here to inquire about joining the castle guard. Who may I speak with?" His hand shaded his eyes from the sun as he waited for the man's response.

Clarice smiled, shaking her head and letting out a slight laugh at Ashley's words. "No, it really seems I can't," she said, smiling over at her friend. "At this point I'm starting to think I'll have to write to Aurélie for help just managing all this, and we all know how she'll be if she has to come back..." Clarice sighed. Aurélie was her stepdaughter, the King's daughter by his first wife. She was in the City of Telia studying at the university, and Clarice preferred that it stay that way - though she had tried her best to become friends with Aurélie when she first moved into the castle, the girl seemed determined not to like her. Clarice had eventually found herself avoiding the teenager so they wouldn't be constantly butting heads, not wanting to upset her husband. She did love the girl, she did try to care for her as if she was her own, she did stress to the girl that she wasn't trying to replace her mother, but Aurélie was stubborn and made it almost impossible for them to have a relationship. Clarice had been more than a little relieved when she had learned that Aurélie was going to be going away to the university.

She reached over and lifted up the top paper from the pile, skimming over it with her pretty brown eyes. From what she could see of the first page, it looked as though what she'd been handed was exactly what she'd requested. The planners had surveyed the servants' quarters and were going to be performing renovations. The plan was to make the bedrooms larger by eliminating the two sitting rooms in the servants' quarters so that the rest of the rooms could be expanded and, perhaps, another room or two could be added. Then, two of the spare rooms upstairs would be renovated into sitting rooms for the servants so they'd have a place to relax and socialize with one another when they weren't working, outside of their bedrooms. Along with making the bedrooms larger, Clarice wished to have them painted and carpeted, and once the renovations were done she would be buying new beds for all of the rooms. This plan didn't cover that part of her plan - it simply addressed the changes that would be made to the physical space itself, the walls that would be moved and removed, all that.
As she continued to enjoy breakfast with Clarice, Ashley started remembering how Aurélie was before becoming the Lady In Waiting. Honestly, Ashley really hated it, but being in the lower part of Nobles, there was very little that she could do about it. Honestly, Ashley was glad that Aurélie was gone. But once the King passes away, what'll happen to her Clarice? Ashley was worried and scared of that. The Renovation of the servant's quarters along with her majesty's other royal duties really weighed heavily on her mind. "Your grace, now that breakfast is over, shall I accompany you to the Throne Room as we review the plans for the Servant's Quarters?" She asked, cradling her belly.

Clarice smiled, finishing the last bite of her pancakes before leaning back in her seat and giving a firm nod. "Absolutely," she said softly, gathering together the papers. "From what I've seen thus far, Lord Harring did an excellent job communicating my wishes to the planners. I'll have to give him my thanks when I see him." She paused thoughtfully, looking down at the papers. "Perhaps I'll deliver them to his study myself, so that I might have the opportunity to give him my appreciation. Ashley, look at this," she said, rifling through the papers quickly before pulling out a detailed sketch - blueprints, almost - of how the bedrooms would look. It had been drawn on top of an existing sketch of the current floor plan, and it showed quite clearly how much spacier and more accommodating they would be.

Clarice was excited to see the results of all her hard work as they finally came to fruition, and she had a grin on her lips as she rose to her feet and held the paper out for her friend to see. She allowed her friend to look at the sketch as they left the dining room and began to walk to the throne room. It wasn't a far walk, and they were there in almost no time at all. They headed inside and Clarice made her way to the pair of thrones on the far side of the room. It saddened her that the larger of the two, Phillippe's throne, would remain empty for now, but she had to do his work for him as best as she could until he was well.

Outside the castle, an NPC guard stood atop the walls on patrol when a young man approached and called up to him. The guard smiled and listened curiously as the man spoke before giving a nod. "Yes, see, generally I'd direct you to the commander, but he's away at the moment - visiting Sartrand to evaluate potential recruits, I think," said the guard. "So, ah, I suppose in his absence I'll direct you to the King. Oh, sorry, rather, the Queen," he said quickly, still not accustomed to the King's leave. As the gates opened, the guard gave the young man another nod. "Best of luck, Mr. Crownsend. The throne room is through the door immediately in front of you once you enter the castle, she should be there by now," he added.

The ex-knight's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Ah yes, I see," He replied. "Thank you, good sir." He nodded politely in the guard's direction, then proceeded through the gates. Leander breathed in the castle air, enjoying the familiar atmosphere of protective walls. This was the kind of environment he thrived in, and his heart ached for home. He had to remind himself that this place was home, now. With that in mind, Lee cleared his throat and set his shoulders back.

As he approached the front doors, a pair of guards nodded to him and opened them wide. Just like the guard at the gates had told him, there was a second door directly in front of the first pair. Hallways spanned in either direction to the left and right. They probably led to servants' quarters, kitchens, and the dining hall. He could only speculate, of course, since no two castles were the same.

As Lee approached the second door, he noticed that it was guarded by no one. It surprised him that he'd so quickly gotten an audience with the queen, even when that hadn't been his original request. Again, the people here astonished him. There was so much more trust in Sapphire City than in Glymn City. Leander wondered if that trust was courageous... or foolish.

He dismissed the thoughts from his mind, shifting his feet on the stone floor. With a firm knock on the door, he waited politely, hands folded behind his back just as he'd been taught when he was young. Leander stared at the etched patterns in the wooden door, bracing himself to meet the queen of Sapphire City.

Bailor woke from her nap. It had been a short nap, but she slept plenty the night before so there was no need for her to go back to sleep. Wondering if her grandmother was up, she made her way back to where her clothes lay. Changing back didn't seem ideal at the time so she carried them in her mouth back to town. The crowd had picked up quite a bit meaning the meeting was probably over. Bailor listened for any news on what the meeting was about. Town budget, sales market, all boring things. For a while there had been talk of building a nursing home, but that didnt seem to be a topic this time around. She wondered what put a stop to this talk. It would have been nice to give her grandmother a more comfortable place to be taken care of.

Bailor reached her home and entered through the fox hole they had in the back. She walked over to her to see if she was awake. The old lady was asleep with one of the books about herbs she had been reading reading right next to her. This means she had been up and probably had fallen back asleep. Her grandmother was usually asleep, her illness kept her tired.

She walked over to the cooking pot and tossed in some cabbage,carrots, and seasonings that seemed to smell good enough to go in the mix. She added water and then started the fire. She was no cook, but she always made it work.

Grabbing a book about dragons, she settled on the small rug in front of the fireplace. She loved mystic beings. Dragons and anything else of magic fascinated her to the fullest. She opened her book and began reading. Her mind following every line and every detail in the story. Every word and image being played alive in her head. About half way through she closed the book. She knew the hero would die in the next chapter, but the underdog would come through and save his fair maiden. She had read it a million times, but never the ending. It was all too predictable.

She set her book aside and rose to go check on the food. As she stirred it a soft scent arose from the pot. She loved cooking. She was only somewhat alright at it, but she enjoyed making new things. It was her own type of magic. She scooped some of the cabbage onto a wooden plate for her grandmother. She should wake soon and be able to eat. Bailor took her plate outside to enjoy in the yard.

Sometimes she felt badly about not spending much time with her grandmother. She knew the old woman's illness would soon take her away, but she couldnt bare to be cooped up in the house that often. She wanted to travel and see the land. Maybe one day meet her highness. Bailor could only dream of visiting such a grand place. She had heard rumors of how immense the castle was. Forever long and infinitely high. She knew of course that it was an exaggeration, but she still dreamt of it that way.

Avarell one of the only places close to home that Veffelheim could find in the land of Evertrue. Being a fairly new comer to Avarell he didn't know exactly where to start, of course he knew his strengths and that he would definitely be able to use these strengths to his advantage in Avarell. Though who would he talk to in order to gain a job as a hunter? This is what the mighty Strong Hands thought to himself as he sat in the town pub thinking to himself while others stared at him. This did not bother Veff for he basically did not care, he was more worried about one thing, and... was getting money. He knew if he couldn't find some form of job related to hunting soon he would not be able to pay for the vast amount of alcohol he had so wanted to consume ever since he arrived at this town. So Veffelheim arose from his seat and made his way out of the grimy pub and off into the town market in search for knowledge of where exactly he could find a job in hunting.
