Katrina wrapped her arm around his, leaning against him slightly. It was a subconscious thing in all honesty. When they were still in the "courting" stages of their relationship, she had done it countless times. Even now, after years, she still found herself doing it. "I still don't see why we're alone, William. I know you're not going to attack my ship while I'm distracted, I believe I know you well enough to know that you wouldn't miss that fight, so what're we doing?" Katrina looked up at him, raising a slender eyebrow. Her thick hair covered her eyes slightly, hiding her curiosity. William confused her in so many ways. He would do one thing, then do the the opposite. The young captain couldn't figure out if he was indecisive or just a pirate. Huffing to herself, she muttered, "I don't know why I bother asking, it's not as if you'll tell me."

As she wrapped her arm around his, they began to walk. When she leaned her head William, he was surprised. Its been so long, he almost forgotten this gesture. As they continued to walk, he turned his head down to her. He found her last comment clever. It like she was indirectly trying to coax him to her what he was truly planning. He thought if she knew he wasn't going to tell her, why would she ask or even state why she asked? William was amused, she was almost as manipulative as he as. He turned his head down to her and responded "Know me? How can you know someone so unpredictable like me?"

"William, you "courted" me for what? A year before we were married? Then you stayed around for six more months after we were married. I was still a lady, if you don't remember. The rule "not speaking unless spoken to" was a blessing back then, especially when figuring you out. You're so unpredictable, you've become predictable." Katrina sighed in thought, thinking of how they were such an unlikely match. They fought over every thing. Hell, she could remember a when time they fought over what color roses to put in the Rose garden. Why couldn't she just have the damned white roses? The only thing they seemed to have in common anymore was their enormous prides and the fact that they were both captains.

"And after almost two years of feigned passiveness, this is all you managed to deduce about me? My predictability through unpredictability? Though it is an intriguing thoery, its rather vague. Also if we are being honest, this "trait" is what kept interested. My charm and looks alone didn't keep you hooked." He responded. Its been years, but they still debated each other like before. For William, it was more than nostalgic for him, it was deja vu. No matter how small the problem was, they still argued over whose judgment was better.

"Oh love, there was a lot more than your charms and looks, if I must admit." Katrina couldn't lie and say she didn't like their bickering. It's what made them, them. Whatever they were. She couldn't put a name on it, because they were no longer husband and wife. They were fellow captains, if he saw her as one. She highly doubt he did, but she needed to stay focused. She was there to settle demons, not debate with her husband. Rubbing small circles with her thumb against his arm, she stated softly, "You're such an idiot."

"Idiot? Please elaborate" he replied. William was many things, but far from idiotic. He was curious on what would make him an idiot in her eyes. Even more, her soft voice was soothing to his ears. Having her lean on his arm, slowing strolling together, it was almost surreal considering the current situation. In this moment, one can say they actually looked like spouses. William looked down into her eyes, wondering what made him an idiot in her opinion

"You're just an idiot, because if you've forgotten my word is law. So by law you're an idiot." Katrina couldn't help, but to smirk as she threw back some of his previous words back to her. She couldn't remember the exact moment he had ever said them, but she knew that he had. Taking in a long dramatic breath, she said, "You're an idiot, because you didn't see what was right in front of you when you had it William. Now we're going to dinner and acting like everything is fine. I was sixteen when you left. I was confused and angry, imagine how I feel now. You're a pompous idiot. Oh, and you also think you're taking back Scarlet. You can hang that one up. She is my ship. She is my lively hood. Would you dare take another thing I love and admire away?" Katrina looked up at William, her voice growing quieter with each word. She couldn't believe what she had said, but she couldn't take it back don.

He chuckled at her first comment. She used a quote he had said against her during one of their arguments years ago. He couldn't recall what they were arguing about, but he did remember saying it. When she began to talk about her true feelings about him leaving her, he went quiet for a few seconds. He took a deep breath, stopped walking and turned to her.

"I know what a saw and had" he responded softly, slowly moving his hand to her cheek, gently caressing her face. "It was ambition that blinded me, among other things. I-uh *clears throat* I, I apologize sincerely" he said nicely. It was a struggle to apologize to her. He normally didn't apologize for anything because he felt that feeling sorry was a weakness, but he did feel sorry for her. Though somewhat twisted, he did have some sense of honor.

Katrina looked up into his eyes, looking for any reason he would be lying to her. Sadly, she never found that reason. Taking in a deep breath, she placed her own hand against his chest. With a small push, she lightly pushed him away as she breathed out, "Pompous idiot." It was hard to say if she had accepted his apology. Katrina wasn't one for apologies and the situation felt awkward. She just only hope he hadn't noticed her leaning into his touch. That would be an awkward topic at dinner. She walked passed him, glancing back, "Well are you coming?" She had her arms wrapped around her now, no longer wanting to be close to William. She knew she was playing a dangerous game, and sadly, she felt like she was losing.

William smirked at her comment as she pushed him off. "Whose the bigger idiot? The idiot or the one whom gets charmed by the idiot?" He put his hand to his chin. "Or is it that the term idiot is being confused with misunderstood?" He chuckled and put his hand in his pocket. As he walked to her, he noticed she backed away even more. "Oh come now, don't be childish. The situation getting to much for you. Know you've made it painfully obvious" he said, his voice turning back to his normal tone. "Doing the same gesture like years before to avoid any further confrontation" he said as scoffed. He slowly walked past her, saying "Would of thought you'd be honest, for this is probably the first time and maybe the only time you can be. How are you even a captain with such passiveness?" he said mockingly. He was trying to frustrate and confuse her more. She was clearly not in control and her emotions were exposed. William was expecting her to break down eventually

(Forgive my slowness. Was very busy this week)

Katrina wished she had brought her sword with her and had kept her breeches on. The longer he spoke, the tighter her corset became. He just happened to have a great knack for irritating the hell out of her. When he asked her how she was a captain, she lost it. She wanted nothing more than to cut him down how he had so easily done to her. Taking in a deep breath, she whispered, "Your father may have given me The Scarlet Night, but I didn't start out as her captain. I served under your father. When he finally passed away, the crew voted me as their captain. I got there on my own and have been in that position for a year. William, do you honestly think your father's crew would vote me captain if they saw me ill fit?" Katrina shook her head, letting out a long sigh as she looked at him pointedly. She pushed her hair out of her eyes, adding quietly, "I may be the fool and the idiot, but don't forget my position. Many women in our society are raised to be beautiful fools and I have worked my ass off not to be one of them. Don't ever call me the idiot again." Katrina turned on her heel, planning on setting sail the moment she got back to the ship whether they were ready or not.

"Yes! There's the Kat I remember." he said, applauding her response. He hadn't called her Kat in years. It was his personal nickname he gave her. He'd usually only call her that in their moments of argument, for it seem to be only times they were completely honest with each other. This is why they constantly bickered. It was strange how what most would perceive as a negative was their twisted positive

He shook his finger "But, don't give me that "women of society" speech. There have been many women of power over the centuries. They were the ones who decided to challenge society instead of just fading away. Do you really think I would have courted you if I thought you were weak? Our marriage may have been arranged only to conclude our families' truce, but I think you know me well enough to know that weak women do not stand a chance with me. Besides, I would've even given weak woman too much time." He took a step closer to her, slightly raising his voice "I freed your conviction from the shackles of suppression, chained on you by the years of your "proper" upbringing. All you needed was a push and I pushed constantly. You think most men would have tolerated the constant arguments and your outspoken attitude if they were me? I encouraged, hell, I enjoyed! You really think that MY FATHER, Gerald Black, whose name speaks for itself, would have let a woman crewed his ship for the mere fact that you were my wife? You displayed your true self and showed you can be stronger than any man. You may hate me, but don't ever dare to think that my presence, or lack of it, hadn't made you who you are now! So please, spare me on that speech, its insulting and serves as an excuse. It makes you look more idiotic.

Katrina stopped as he called her 'Kat.' Had he called her by the simple name he had given her so many years ago? She had always enjoyed the small nickname since she was never much of a fan of her own name. It was far too different from the traditional names given to the women in her circle, but it also seemed very fitting. Katrina whipped back around, storming towards him. She covered the distant between them in just a few short strides as she too raised her voice, "I know that William! I know that better than anyone! I know you, God damn it! William...I can't do this. We go around in circles. We haven't seen each other in God knows how long and all we do is fight. We fight and we argue and it's about every single damned thing that we do. It drives me insane! You drive me insane, William. I had nearly lost my mind at sea just thinking about the day we would be reunited. What are we doing, William?" Katrina took a step back, trying to gain some space between them. Just being near him took the breath from her and she didn't know how much longer she could go on standing there. She wanted to run, but she had run from far too many things in her life. Even if William had been the one to leave, she had pushed him there because she knew she would eventually run. Running was what she was good a after all.

"I don't know, Kat. I really don't." he responded, his voice more calmer. He took a step closer and stared into her eyes. "Look, Kat I-" he cut his sentence short as he looked up and noticed a group of soldiers approaching from behind Katrina. William grabbed her arm, pulling her with him "We need to go." Seconds later another group of soldiers came, come towards them from the front. They were about to be surrounded and there was no where to go. William quickly straightened his collar. "Put your arm around mine, quickly. Act normal, say nothing" he commanded. William had never been detected coming on to any port. He was extremely puzzled on how the port garrison knew he as here.

Katrina linked her arm with his, averting her eyes to the ground. She stole a glance up at William before stealing a glance at the soldiers. To say the least she was puzzled as to how the soldiers had found them. Katrina couldn't remember the last time she had been caught in port, well she could, but that was a story for another time. For once Katrina was grateful that she had worn the dress. It made them look less suspicious and perhaps they wouldn't recognize her. If they didn't recognize her then she could go for help. Katrina almost laughed out loud at her own thoughts. She knew William wouldn't go down without a fight and she was his only backup, even if she were in a dress. A small smirk made its way to the young pirate's lips as she looked up at William once more, "Well do you have a plan, cap'n?" Her voice was low and she added the full force of her southern drawl as she spoke. Katrina was down for a fight, she just hoped the dress wouldn't slow her down.

William didn't responded to her. They continued to walk normally until the soldiers surrounded them in a circle, aiming their rifles to fire. The commanding officer was outside the circle. William looked around slowly and turned to the officer, "Whats this all about?" he asked with a smile on his face, appearing to be innocent. The officer responded with a stern tone, "William Black, you're under arrest for piracy, robbery, murder, kidnapping, and illicit sale of contraband"

"I think you have the wrong man, sir" William responded. The officer pulled out two folded letters. He unfolded William's arrest warrant with a picture of him. "I think not" he responded. "Katrina Black, your under arrest as well" He stated while unfolding the second letter. It was an arrest warrant for her with a picture.

"We will escort you two to the prison. Don't try anything stupid." the officer said. The soldiers were aiming their rifles stiffly, cautious of the two pirates. "Don't make any sudden movements. You might make them nervous" the officer mocked as he chuckled.

"Sir, I believe you have the wrong woman. Could you imagine Katrina, a pirate, in a dress? My sister died about a month ago. I travelled here in hopes of informing her husband, William. We were just on our way to discuss preparations for a private funeral he could attend since he didn't get to say bye when she died. Would you deny a man the chance to say his proper goodbyes? I believe not." Katrina nudged William's ribs lightly for him to play along. It wasn't quite a lie, Katrina did have a sister. Her sister was actually her identical twin, and her twin had passed the month previous. Now if she could convince the officer and his goons. Katrina nibbled on her bottom lip softly, keeping eye intact with the officer. If she could just get back to Vera and Scarlet, she could get William out of the situation. She began drawing circles on his arm, but this time it was a way to calm herself down.

"Do you think I'm a fool. You are Katrina Black. Your identity was confirmed as soon as you came onto port. Also, I can care less about this man's funeral plans. He has been the cause of dozens of other funerals and now he shall pay for his crimes. NOW WALK!!" the officer responded.

William was confused that her identity was confirmed. To strangers, Katrina and her sister were indistinguishable from each other. Only those who actually knew her could tell the difference, which made him very suspicious. Before William responded back, the sound of gunfire started to echo. The origin sounded like it came from the port. William assumed it was his crew retaliating against troops who are maybe trying to confiscate Vera since they were capturing him, but it was unclear what was going on.

Katrina whipped around at the sound of the gunfire. She couldn't tell which ship it came from, but she imagined it was from both of theirs. Reluctantly, she turned back around and continued walking. How had it been confirmed it had was her? Unless someone was watching her and William, no one would know. Her and her sister were indeed identical and only their personalities were different. No one could distinguish them just from watching Katrina for a few moments. Katrina looked up at William, whispering, "We need to get out of here, but I can't fight in a dress."
