Powers / Abilities:
Copied and pasted from the wiki
- Superhuman Abilities: The Doom Marine has shown to possess immense physical Strength and Endurance, incredible Speed and Agility, and high levels of Stamina and Durability. These abilities are all augmented by the Doom Marines Praetor Suit, and are used when fighting against the Demons of Hell
- Argent Energy Absorption: The Doom Marine can absorb Argent Energy via his Praetor Suit, which reroutes it throughout the suits subsystems and into his body. This allows him to increase either his Health, Armour or Ammo to maximum levels.
- Rune Absorption and Usage: Through some unknown means, the Doom Marine is able to use mystic runes that he gains upon completing trials. Once a trial is complete, the Marine can then use a rune to gain new abilities.
- Powerup Usage: Whereas powerups (such as Berserk and Haste) in the game are described as killing or driving human users mad, the Doom Marine can use these without any trouble, sustaining full control and not taking any damage to either his body or mind from using such artifacts multiple times.
- Master Combatant and Weapon Mastery: The Doom Marine is capable of using any weapon or firearm in his possession with master proficiency. He can use all firearms he comes across with great effect, while also upgrading and modifying his arsenal. He is also capable of carrying a vast amount of weapons, carrying up to 12 weapons including special weapons (Chainsaw and BFG) and grenades.
- Advanced Intellect: The Doom Marine has shown to possess a high level of intelligence.
- Health Regin- When Doomguy performs a glory kill, health packs pop out to heal any damage.
- BFG9000 - One of the most iconic weapons in the franchise, it seems to be similar to its Doom 3 incarnation, as it can be charged up (though in the E3 showcase, it did not have its own ammo counter). It has a big damage radius like the original Doom.
- Burst Rifle - Repeating rifle that fires three-round bursts.
- Chaingun - A rotary machine gun with a very fast rate of fire, but requires a short wind up before firing.
- Chainsaw - An insta-kill weapon that requires fuel pick-ups in campaign, and generates ammunition upon killing in multiplayer. Has an ammo counter of 6, with stronger enemies needing more ammunition to kill. Available as a power weapon in Multiplayer.
- Combat Shotgun - A pump-action close range weapon that fires relatively slowly. It also has a Charge Burst attachment which fires 3 times in quick succession, or with an Explosive Shot that deals splash damage. Holds 20 shells.
- Fists - Just fighting with your unarmed hands which include finishing kills.
- Frag Grenade - Hand held explosive weapon.
- Gauss Cannon - A weapon that accelerates large caliber, steel flechettes to incredible velocities through a magnetized chamber resulting in extreme accuracy and power.
- Grenade Launcher - A 5 shot weapon that launches grenades that detonate on impact.
- Heavy Assault Rifle - An automatic rifle which features a scope that turns the weapon into a semi-automatic rifle. It also has a 'mini-rockets' alternate fire which gets rid of the scope, but in turn allowing the player to fire a barrage of fast firing rockets. Holds 60 rounds.
- Hellshot - A semi-automatic hell-energy weapon. Secondary fire can cause flame damage over time.
- Hologram - A image projector of a still Doom Marine used to distract enemies.
- Kinetic Mine - A mine that leaps out at the victim when in close proximity.
- Lightning Gun - Short range energy weapon that fires a constant stream of electricity.
- Personal Teleporter - A device used to teleport the player to where it is deployed.
- Pistol - Directed-energy handgun which is the weakest weapon in the game, has unlimited ammo, and is only in the campaign.
- Plasma Gun - An automatic directed-energy weapon that fires off a stream of concentrated plasma. Holds 150 rounds.
- Reaper - A Hell weapon that fires six-round bursts.
- Rocket Launcher - One of the weapons with a slower fire rate, it fires off rockets to cause massive damage to whatever meets it face to face, and also causes splash damage, dealing damage to those close to the explosion, perhaps even the player. Holds 16 rockets.
- Shield Wall - A device that, when activated, creates a shield that neither enemies or projectiles can pass through.
- Siphon Grenade - The Siphon field created on impact leeches health from the enemies and returns it to the thrower.
- Static Cannon - A weapon that charges up to deal more damage as the player moves around. Only in Multiplayer.
- Super shotgun - A more powerful version of the shotgun, which requires a reload after every shot. Holds 20 shells. Shares the same ammo pool as the combat shotgun.
- Tesla Rocket - A device that uses electricity bolts to attack every enemy on its thrown path, slowing down as it passes.
- Threat Pulse - A device that highlights enemies within the player's radius.
- Threat Sensor - A device that, when thrown, attaches to a surface and highlights enemies within its radius.
- Vortex Rifle - A beam sniper rifle that can charge energy when zoomed in.
- Praetor Suit- Armor forged in hell itself, the Praetor Suit protects Doomguy from damage and with Jump Boots, allows him to double jump.
- Vega Processing Chip- The chip containing a back up copy of the A.I. core Vega. Currently Doomguy's suit is not powerful enough for Vega to be active.
Personality:
The Doom Slayer is a bundle of rage and fury, unleashing it upon demons, the wicked, and anyone else unfortunate enough to earn his ire by tearing them to bloody pieces. He treats the corpses of his enemies as garbage, tossing them aside when they are dead. The Doom Slayer is also quick on his feet, always moving and thinking up of the best ways to destroy his foes or their equipment. He also doesn't speak. Perhaps rampaging in Hell for ages had stripped him of his voice.
He does not know fear either. He makes the other side fear him.
However, the Doom Slayer is more than a ball of anger. He has a fun-loving side to him, making references and fist-bumping action figures. And despite his seemingly psychotic tendencies, he does have a compassionate side, hesitating to sacrifice friends for the greater good. If innocents are harmed as well, be warned, for he is worse than the demons of Hell. The Doom Slayer will rip and tear until his mission is done.
Short Bio:
The Doom Marine's origins are unknown, but he has a connection with a group known as the Night Sentinels and Argent D'Nur. Leader, member, or ally, it does not matter, for untold ages, he laid waste to Hell itself. Countless demons bloodied, battered, broken.
Even Hell's champion, the Titan, a demon of great size and might, fell before him. Yet in his unquenchable thirst, he was lured into a temple where the demon priests collapsed it upon him. They binded him, placed runes, and imprisoned him in a coffin of stone. A warning was engraved telling all demons that the Scourge of Hell slept here in silent suffering.
Time past and a UAC expedition team led by Samual Hayden recovered several relics from Hell. One such was the Doom Slayer himself. They would study the relics on a Mars facility.
Dr. Oliva Pierce would later make a deal with Hell. She would open a portal to their realm and in return, she became a god. The entire UAC facility would fall to the demons, leaving only a handful of survivors to stop the invasion.
Doomguy would awake and do what he does best, rip and tear until it is done.
Countless demons slain, the Crucible retrieved, the Wraiths freed, the portals closed, and the Spider Mastermind a mess, Doomguy was pulled back to Mars by a tether where Samual would take the Crucible by force. Hayden then had the tether fling the Doom Marine somewhere.
Now he finds himself in a world untouched by Hell, but still nonetheless threatened by some evil force. Oh well, time to do what he's best at.
