The Green Thorne Bed and Breakfast: Winter Edition!

He wanted to ignore the people who came up behind, but the vibrant purple caught his eye. It was a lot to try and not at least glance at. She seemed very expressive...and cute. The other guy seemed nice enough and Rich would probably get to know them both better over their stay. It felt got to come...home. He didn't know who would answer all he knew was that whomever did was going to get a damn hug.

Thankfully, it was cousin. He was so overjoyed to see him that all he could do was chuckle and embrace. Rich turned to them both as Noah said their name and committed them to memory. Who knows how many new faces would be here. For all he knew, the only familiar people would be cousin and the neutral cook.

"We have some catching up to do, cousin."

Rich barely caught Josh and Pat coming from the kitchen.

"Josh! Pat! Holy crap, errrrrbody be here almost." He said with a chuckle.

<div style="float:right;margin-left:8pt;width:25%;height:25%;"><img src=http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x167/goldendercon/NathanielGalanis.jpg></div>There was something about this man that tugged at the edges of his consciousness, but he couldn't really tell what it was. He averted his gaze, pink coloring his cheeks lightly as he realized he was staring. Could an incubus blush? Well, apparently. The man was definitely a beauty to behold, and Nathaniel's predatory instinct was fighting to take control. Should he give in? Well, maybe a little.

The smile he gave Abaijah next was all sorts of -- forgive the pun -- devilish. He plucked a treat from the table and popped it in his mouth almost seductively. The little moans of appreciation weren't really faked. The food was fucking heavenly. And that was a hard thing to say for a demon like himself. Maybe the cook would be as delicious as the food. "Stay in control, Nathaniel, stay in control." he told himself, pushing down the desires to flirt with everyone and do what an incubus does best.

He quirked an eyebrow at Abaijah and smiled again. "I see... Thank you -- I don't think I caught your name." he said, stretching out his hand.

"Congrats. You two are no longer the latest arrivals."

Grand, I never considered that I was late. Open the door! Haven grumbled to herself and covered her nose with a hand. When one's nose gets cold then it is entirely too cold outside. Then, of course, the door had to open so the owner could see the late, awkward looking girl holding her cold nose.

"Yes! I'm Haven!" She said in passing, more than willing to enter the warm, inviting, sweet smelling, good looking house. Family? From the corner of her eye she looked over the man… Rich… she thought the owner had said. He was an attractive man, no doubt about that, but the Fedora? Haven had to wrinkled her nose at that. Our rooms! Aaannddd there went her interest for Rich.

At last! She was in a room, in her room! Oh, how cute. Lightly, Haven traced her fingertips over the bedspread then tossed her suitcase over the blanket she had just been admiring. For a moment, she just kinda stood there, staring at the suitcase deciding on whether or not to unpack now or later. Do it later? Definitely. Now? I need hot chocolate.

After tossing her pea coat over her suitcase and set out for the kitchen but she soon found a flaw in her plan – she didn't know where to go. I can just wander. And that's exactly what she did. After a bit of aimless wandering, she walked into the kitchen and right into the conversation of two guys.

"I… uh.. hmmm." Haven pulled at the ends of her hair, feeling rather awkward. "I didn't mean to just intrude, but I was wondering where I could find some hot chocolate?"

Darren was standing smack in the living room drinking down his cider. As he walked over twords the window he placed his cup down and stared out at the smow that was falling onto the ground. It seemed to have more snow on the ground than there was before. The cool air slightly blew in and the cold air rushed onto his upper body, mostly his arms. He was thankful that he was drinking the warm cider because the cool air didn't seem to bother him at all.

He didn't really know how long he was staring out the window watching the snoew fall and the cars drive back and forth but he figured it was when he went to take a sip of the cider and nothing came out. Darren looked down into the cup and realixed that it was empty. Damn i finished it that quick?. He thought to himself and he leaned his body on the wall. There was a guy who seemed to be way intrested in his book to be bothered so he figured it would be rude to bother him.

Since he finished drinking the cider he suddenly felt the urge to drink more. The cup was small and he was missing the warm feeling in the center of his stomach. He grabed his cup off the resting place and then headed back into the kitchen like he did before. As soon as he walked in he stoped only slightly bumping into a woman with purple hair. Taking a step back he alolpgized. " Oh im sorry". Darren gave a warm smile before walking in and grabbing a cup of cider.

Patrick raised an eyebrow and sighed. Joshua was right, they would definitely be awkward around all the strangers. But they were here, for their own reasons, and they'd figure out how to be around everyone. "Right, you never help guests, but you do feed them some of the best things," he said as they made their way up the stairs. "And thanks for helping me get settled," Patrick added with a smirk.

Rich and Noah surprised the two on their way up the stairs, with a third guest with them, a stranger to Pat. He gave Rich a wry grin. "Yeah, almost," he answered. "But this time we won't need to share a room, I don't think." Patrick looked to Noah. "Hey, Noah, thanks for inviting me back. I hope my sweater is warm enough though. I don't think I quite realized that it is winter." He stood around a moment before asking what was on his mind. "Speaking of everyone, Noah, has Lotte checked in yet? It'd be cool to see her again."

Noah Thorne
"A few years now, Mr. Morelock." Noah said with a smile at the dark man as they walked. After showing the new guests to their rooms, he turned to Rich. "Tsk, cousin. You should have given me a call. Luckily for you, I have another room. A cancellation." Noah showed Rich his room as well and had been walking down the stairs when Joshua and Pat showed up.

"Pat! It's good to see you. Lotte? I don't know actually... She and her guest was supposed to be here this morning but she's not showed up yet. I'm starting to get a little worried honestly." Noah did look worried. "I called her cell about half an hour ago but she didn't respond so I don't know what to do." In fact, Noah was really really worried. Especially with night falling so fast. The sunset was ending and the shadows of night were claiming the land that the bed and breakfast rested on.

"I'm sure she's alright but I'm going to call her again soon, if she's driving I don't want to distract her."

Abaijah Oak
[DASH=gray]The blond man named Nathaniel was a noisy and over enthusiastic eater. It made sense though, all of Abaijah's alarm bells were ringing in his head. Demon. Unholy. Tainted. Betrayer. Murderer. His mind whirled for a second and he blinked owlishly at him. "I'm Abaijah Oak... I think I hear Noah coming down the steps." He took another step back and found himself wishing for company in the kitchen.

He watched Darren come in and fetch himself more cider. Abai gave Nathaniel a polite smile and started to move away. Cider would be nice. It was a shame that Noah couldn't identify supernatural people in his home, Abai thought heatedly as he poured his own cup of steaming cider, keeping one gray eye on the demonic entity.

Marcus
Marcus made his way to the ground level of the house and then with a sniff walked straight into the library. There was so many people here! And there was that cook too. Marcus knew he was silly, it wasn't like he had feelings for Marcus but dammit, he didn't have many friends. There wasn't many people who could put up with the snarky antisocial ginger vampire.

So Marcus found himself in the library, feeling petulant and put upon and wondering where the last member of their party was...

The library had once been a dining room before some expansion and change of customs had put the dining room in the kitchen. It was a small affair, a little fire place and several shelves of books. The shelves lined the walls and were under the windows. There was a large desk that Noah sometimes did his paper work at and there were several comfortable buttery soft leather chairs.

That was where Marcus was, red hair slightly tousled, sitting in a soft leather chair in front of the fire and scowling at the fire like it done him personal harm.

"It's no problem at all, Pat," Joshua replied, casting his gentle smile over at the man. "Besides, you're more like family now than a guest, right?" More memories of the summer came flooding back, making the quiet cook smile all the more. "Noah would try to adopt you too, I'm sure of it. That guy is really.." They'd caught Noah on his way back down again and Joshua lost his words for a moment while he gazed ahead at the bearded bed and breakfast owner. "...Something," he muttered, finishing his sentence with maybe just a little bit of a blush on his cheeks.

Once they all came face to face, Joshua made sure to linger in the background, waiting for the conversation to finish, though he couldn't help but smile a little at the mention of Charlotte. Again, he thought back to the summer. Pat and Lotte had really hit it off during that extra time they'd spent at the B&B, hadn't they? And as for himself and Noah... Nothing of course, though it'd been so difficult to behave himself, especially when he still didn't know whether or not Noah was aware of his feelings.

"Let's not get too worried yet," he suggestion kindly, shifting Patrick's luggage from one had to the other. "Miss Charlotte is a very capable woman. I'm sure there's a simple explanation for why she's late... Oh. You're awake?"

That last bit had been directed at the black cat at the other end of the hallway. At once, the feline bound forward and wound itself around the cook's ankles, making him chuckle softly. "Go downstairs and be social for me, okay?" he said to the purring shadow and reached down to pet the creature along its back.

Joshua! How he adored that gentle hearted man! Yes, the cat was a he. The cat also had a name, but it was a useless name unless he was no longer a cat. Perhaps the time would come. But for now, the cat purred happily at the affection from the cook and then did as he was told, tail still lifted high as he trotted down the stairs to the ground floor.

Even with the bell on a ribbon around his neck, this stealthy little feline had perfected the art of moving silently. And he did so by skirting the livingroom and disappearing off on the other side. He was following a scent trail, one that smelled of centuries of sleep and blood.

After all, Joshua had said to be social. He'd never said where or whom that entailed.

Through the house the cat moved, not even giving the other guests so much as a glance as he passed by. Into the library the scent took him and fluidly he went from the floor up to the armrest of the leather chair, balancing perfectly and perhaps showing off just a little.

Vibrant pink eyes stared at the ginger man in the chair, unblinking, daring the man to tell the cat to get down or get lost.

Marcus had had... well. An interesting 'day dream' or night dream as it was evening and well... The vampire smiled at the cat that snuck up on the chair with me. "Meow kitten. Milk, milk. Yes? Hmm?" He stroked Maya's hair absently. "Are you here to tell me I should be nice to the people out there and try to be sociable?" The vampire slouched against the chair and stared into the fire. His previous moodiness was gone though, replaced by cheer and the thought of a Japanese girl somewhere wearing a silly watch telling him that he didn't have to be alone and a Bartender who reminded him that sometimes people are awesome.

"But cats are definitely better, aren't they?" Marcus grinned at the cat, scratching under it's chin. "Perhaps you are an emissary for the cook, Joshua? Telling me that I shouldn't be jealous of him? It's not like I really am, not like that... Alright. Just a little bit jealous. What, you've never seen a gay Catholic vampire before?"

What? Did everyone have a crush on that bearded Noah guy? The cook called out the man's name in his sleep and now this guy was confessing about jealousy... The cat just couldn't understand it. Noah was handsome; he wouldn't deny it. But he preferred his men shaven...and raven-haired...and quietly pensive.

Suddenly he was purring not so much because of the ginger man's affectionate petting and scratching as because of a certain face that had formed in his mind. That damn man could go to hell for all he cared! Or at least that was what he kept telling himself every day because every day he thought about him

The cat's attention returned to the ginger as the words "gay Catholic vampire" filtered through his loud purring and finally reached his ears. Hmm? Vampire? The scent of blood made sense now. The mention of religion meant nothing to the beast. And he didn't seem to bat an eyelash at the mention of homosexuality. Well, there were reasons for that... And just like with Joshua, who was supernatural, this ginger was someone who could easily understand the cat's true nature. He'd chosen to keep it a secret from Josh, because he wondered if that cook was even aware of his own situation, but he had to wonder if sharing his little secret with the vampire was acceptable. This guy seemed rather kind, though the cat's experience had taught him that people were unpredictable. Plus, he rather liked being able to eavesdrop so easily because everyone believed he was just a simple cat.

It was less of an awkward situation when curling up on a lap too.

Stretching like only a cat can, the dark shadow of a feline transferred himself from the armrest down onto the vampire's lap and promptly curled up. Surely that was enough to quell any suspicions the man might have had about the cat? Because the simple explanation was that said cat was just looking for someone to be social with who didn't require him to cut his nap short.

Darren leaned against the wall and watched the conversation between the blond hair man and Abaijah turn from friendly to know what it seemed to be...very akward. He watched as Abajiah took a few steps back watching the man as if they guy had something on him. But from listening to the small conversation he couldn't reallly tell what the problem was. There was that fact that the guy was comming onto Abajiah mabey more than intended.

As for the cider that was in his hands he took a few sips. It seemed to be his warm heaven when a small breeze chilled up his bare shoulders. When he was certain that the conversation wouldn't go any farther he walked tword the two and grabbed Abajiah's hand. " Im sorry for the intrusion but do you mind if i borrow him for a moment?". He smiled at the blond hair man kindly before leading Abaj out of the kitchen.

Once in the living room Darren turned to him with a smirk on his face. "So im guessing im going to be the once saving you from all the akward conversations huh?".

<div style="float:right;margin-left:8pt;width:25%;height:25%;"><img src=http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x167/goldendercon/NathanielGalanis.jpg></div>Nathaniel was quite enjoying making a spectacle of himself, all flirty and seductive. It was surprising, to his more rational side, how easily he had given in to his carnal desire and his demonic instinct. Regardless, though, he wasn't about to go the way of his more ruthless peers, he was in it as much for the pleasure he would bring whomever it was that fell for his charms and the pleasure he would get. He would never go as far as to drain the life of his hapless -- and he hated using the term -- victims.

"Abaijah... That's a nice name..." he said, the corners of his mouth twisting upwards in a sly smile. It was a smile that lasted for less than three seconds when he saw the obvious and sudden change in Abaijah's temperament since he had not really paid attention to the man while savoring the treats. Abaijah had gone from warm and friendly to wary in an instant and Nathaniel had an inkling he knew why. Before he could ask about it, though, Abaijah had been whirled away by a strange man.

Not like to give up his quarry easily, Nathaniel followed the two out of the kitchen, albeit at a respectful distance that was not out of earshot. "Awkward conversation? Really now?" He walked up to the two, a smile plastered on his face, meant to look as far from genuine as possible. "Well, I honestly thought I was just being friendly" he said, pointedly, to Darren.

Patrick smiled at Joshua. Yeah, the B&B did suddenly feel more like home than anywhere else he'd been. That was probably one of the reasons he dropped everything once the invitation was in his hand and came back. Lotte was only a part of it. Despite feeling guilty and perplexed and scared out of his mind a couple of times, something about the place had imprinted on him. He owed Noah more than just money, and he'd been glad that Noah had thought to write to invite him back. He'd been a little afraid that he would never be welcomed back.

Noah put Patrick at ease immediately, even though they were both worried about Lotte. There was something about Noah's easy-going personality... Patrick somehow always stayed at the Green Thorne longer than he expected to.

Smirking at the cook - his feelings for Noah were fairly obvious to Pat - he patted Joshua on the shoulder in solidarity before turning to Noah. "Yeah, I'm sure Lotte's fine," he said, putting her behind him in his mind for the moment. "I should put my things away. I'll come downstairs again once I'm settled." He took his bag from Joshua as a black cat wandered past them. "Hey, the B&B got a new full-time resident? Hopefully none of us will get seven years' bad luck or anything, right?" He chuckled at his joke while trying to put the idea in the back of his mind, too. The bed and breakfast was weird enough. Maybe a black cat crossing his path here really would give him bad luck. He'd have to cross his fingers not.

The Bed and Breakfast seemed to be rather lively, for a Bed and Breakfast, anyway. The sounds of quiet chatter filled the room, not that Yuuki minded as he read the text in the open book. When he was focused on something, he was focused. Unless something more interesting comes along, of course. Quietly, he sipped the warm cider and read, only glancing up from the book when he sensed the eyes on him. The girl, at he thought it was a girl, had already looked away but he was sure she'd been staring. Like any people in the Green Thorne, Yuuki sensed that she too was someone of the supernatural type. Not that it bothered him, he'd known for a very long time that not all demons and supernatural beings were bad. Some were more good or neutral... or cute and mischievous with big smiles and playful attitudes....

Yuuki realized he'd grown a bit too distracted to pay much attention to the book in his lap anymore. A small sigh escaped him as he closed it and drank down the rest of the warm cider. Just as he stood to take the glass back he noticed the black furry creature that padded out of the room and into another, causing him to pause where he stood. ...He really had to stop doing that every time he saw a black cat, there were so many of them in the world, what were the honest odds of that one being him? Very slim.

It was really too bad about the worsening weather, he couldn't shake the desire for a calm walk through snowy woods, it was his main reason for visiting after all. Still, standing near the window and watching the chunks of snow fall and pile up was good enough for now.

Renard let himself be shown to his room for the next week or so, however long his vacation ended up lasting. Noah had been doing this for a good long while then, almost as long as he had been in homicide. Somehow the man seemed far more relaxed than he was despite the amount of them they had both spent working their respected jobs. Renard looked around the room and sighed lightly as he smiled, it wasn't as if a bed and breakfast was all that stressful other than making sure everything was done properly and on time...maybe the disruptive guest or two..

Well hell he had chosen the life of a homicide detective. He shouldn't complain now, Renard made sure all his clothing and personal items were unpacked and that he locked up his valuable stuff. (computer etc...)

Renard changed out of his T-shirt that he had driven over in (it was just more comfortable to wear a T-shirt while driving, even if it was too cold outside) and slipped on the white sweater he had packed. Slipping into a pair of black slippers for the downstairs he finally shut the door to his room and made his way back to the wonderfully decorated living room, he could use some hot coco or a good fire.

"Yes, a new full time resident for the B&B... Not that Gandolf approves." Noah chuckled softly under breath at the memory of his bird calling the cat a variety of names. Mostly 'Sweet cheeks'. Which made very little sense but was hilarious and Noah didn't even know where the damn bird had gotten that phrase! Noah blamed the ghostly guardians of the Bed and Breakfast, mostly his Grandma because while he couldn't see her, he knew that she was there to watch over him.

The bearded man smiled to himself for a moment and then watched Patrick leave to unpack. He checked his own phone again, worrying about Charlotte and her guest before he turned to Joshua, finding himself alone with him. No one was around. How difficult it was these days to be around Joshua! Noah had to control himself so he didn't scare the poor man off... He just wanted to tell him how much he cared. He wanted to...

Kiss him. Hug him. Hold him. Make him his.

"So, it's snowing again?"

[DASH=white]Abaijah had been both grateful and embarrassed at being 'rescued' by Darren. No run in with demons ever ended well though, the last one had been obsessed with killing birds which had upset Abaijah. He found himself absentmindedly rubbing one hip, knowing that beneath his new sweater was the feathery tattoo. Oh how the demon had hated the tattoo! "Hey, you didn't have to rescue me but ..."

Dammit. He'd been found out. There was the demon talking about awkward conversation and parroting the man's words back at him. Double damn. Abaijah plastered a fake smile on his face and pulled Darren close to him and leaned his head on the man's shoulder.

"He didn't mean it like that, sug." He made his accent sugary sweet. "He just saw me being all awkward and came to let me have a breather. With him. You know how it is."

Clearly the wards he put around the B&B were as depleted as Noah thought...
[/DASH]

Marcus stroked Maya's dark fur and mused quietly in front of the fireplace. It was warm here and he had great company. No reason to go out there and be social. Nope. Not at all.

images
Darren couldn't help but smile at Abajiah when he led him out the kitchen. From the look that blond hair man was giving Abajiah it was like he wanted him in his own little way. Darren opened his mouth to speak when the same blond hair man spoke, obviously listening in to half of the conversation. He turned tword the man. Being that he was enjoying himself Darren decided not to question on why he was listening in on ther conversation, but then again he wanted to know.

" Well why were you li- His words were cut short when Abaijah pulled him closer and rested his head on his shoulder. Darren had this sudden calmness when this guy was around, His accent was southern and nice. He could tell though that Abaj was juat being nice and brightening up the mood which he was thankfuk for.

He continued to look at the blood hair man and then finially he looked away. Just being around the guy made his body tense up in the utterly most uncomfortable way and he found himself plling Abaj closer to his body.

Thanking graciously, Rich slipped out of the way of the rest of the commotion. He would be able to talk once everything was unpacked. For now, it was time to place everything for the a much longer stay. Last trip ended too quickly, though the reasons he left worked out. Not sure how they got the number, but he was fine that they did. After all, the call was from a recording label a state or five away. That was not the quickest trip he had ever been on. It was all worthwhile once they he sat down with one of the reps and talked over about a possible recording session. Of course, the condition was he was to write about seven new songs for a possible test album.

All the mental reminiscing distracted him from actually paying attention. Before he knew it, everything was already out and set up. Everything from a new laptop, keyboard, and hygiene items. Just like that, it was all set.

"Hm. Better head back down stairs."

Finally tossing his jacket aside, Rich adjusted the fedora and made a way through the hallway.

<div style="float:right;margin-left:8pt;width:25%;height:25%;"><img src=http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x167/goldendercon/NathanielGalanis.jpg></div>He'd used them so often and seen them used so often that the fact that Abaijah's smile was insincere did not escape him. Even so, the thrill of the hunt excited him and he wouldn't have been surprised if his demonic presence flared for a moment. Was it possible that the man had sensed what he really was? It didn't really seem that way, but then again, anything was possible. He raised an eyebrow when Abaijah pulled the other man closer and laid a head on the man's shoulder.

"Sure... That must be what it was. I presume you're going to go up to his room to help him get settled and have a nap now, then?" he said with a devilish smile. Maybe Abaijah was inaccessible to him at the moment, but once Nathaniel had his quarry, he wasn't about to let it go. Abaijah slipped away this time. Nathaniel would return to him later on. "How rude of me... I'll leave the two of you to your breather then."

With a wink and a rather suggestive pursing of his lips and sway of his hips, he turned around and walked in the other direction. He set his eyes on another young good-looking young man who was standing by the window. The owner was nowhere to be seen, perhaps accosted by other guests. Nathaniel would just have to wait before meeting Noah.

With the silence of a prowling cat, he stood behind the young man. He wasn't as set on entrancing this one as he was with Abaijah, but he thought it would be good to make friends in the B&B... Perhaps even ones with benefits. "Pretty, ain't it? Where I came from, snow and ice never really stopped falling" he whispered right next to the other young man's ear.

Now what the hell was he supposed to do? Pat had abandoned him, left him alone with Noah, and that was pretty much like tossing him to the sharks. Joshua instantly felt the tension thicken between himself and the B&B owner and he quickly cast his gaze off to the side in an attempt to hide his fear and longing. He'd found it so difficult to hide his emotions from Noah, especially lately. He was definitely becoming soft and weak-willed around that man.

"Yeah," he replied to the question, knowing full well that Noah had spoken only to interrupt the uncomfortable silence. Still, it was a few seconds more before the cook could muster up the courage to speak a little more. "You worry too easily," he said softly, smiling just as tenderly. "Like this, you're becoming stressed. I think you're the one that could use a bit of relaxation time instead of me. Let me help out more, okay? Just tell me what you need me to do."

[DASH=white]Abaijah had been about to make a snarky remark, not that he was very good at them. If anything, Abaijah was a master of staircase wit. Which meant he only thought of something good and the first comment he'd make would always be bad and cause him more harm than the other person.

Luckily he was saved from it by Nathaniel himself. Who had made a remark that had the strawberry haired man blushing red and still clinging to Darren. He gaped for a moment before the incubus moved away from them, leaving him with Darren alone again. "Er... I. Thank you, Darren. Really." He took a deep breath, his face still bright red as he looked up at him. "You must think I'm a really weird guy... I'm sorry."

Abaijah's phone weighed heavily in his pocket. It wasn't like him and Ahren was dating or that Ahren even liked him or tolerated his presence. Still. He took a step back from Darren. "How can I repay your kindness?" He smiled up at him, one hand reaching out to squeeze Darren's hand.
[/DASH]

Just tell me what you need me to do. That was the worst thing that Joshua could have said to him! Good god. Noah took a breath and smiled broadly at his Cook. "I'm fine, Joshua. Really I am. I'm just worried about our guests, you know?" Our guests, whoops. How did that 'Our' slip out, huh Noah?

"Actually..." Noah took a deep breath. Now or never right? "Will you... trust me?" He licked his lips. "And keep your eyes closed? Just for a minute!" Noah said rushed. The aching pain was growing in his chest. The potential for heartbreak. Joshua could break his heart in an instant but Noah had to try.

He was in love with him.

He loved him.

Oh god.

"Just close your eyes for me, Joshua."
