Character Name: Emmanuelle "Trudi" Coinpicket
Eye Color - Her eyes are split between Maple Orange and Sky Blue
Build - Trudi is around 140 pounds with more of her weight in her legs which give her a slight pear shape while her upper body and torso are rather flat and meek. She often smells of men's cologne which she prefers over perfume. As well as being more common.
Facial Structure - Trudi's face is very angular and sharp coming around to a sharp chin with a sharp nose, but her face is rarely done up and is quite rough and pale leaving some more to be desired.
Hair - Trudi has light earthy toned hair that spins down her head bushy and wild. It is rarely done up giving her it a chaotic aura and it often smells like lavender from the soup she uses.

Age: 23
Class: Trader
Affiliation:
Personality: Trudi is one that knows how to get a smoking hot deal. She can practically sell anything even Marina. Trudi has been in the business of buying and selling for as long as she can remember and with this comes the useless tool of words and she has more than once failed defused a tense situation with a bandit, but to be fair she was able to hit the price down on a killer boat that even a Water Baron couldn't even do. With this skill she is almost invaluable to those she knows since she is always willing to help out in getting them what they need with her contacts and knowledge of the market; given they pay an appropriate sum.

Probably more of a consequence of this is the fact that Trudi cannot live without a worth under her belt. Old coins are something she into collecting but rarely do people value them anymore. So she uses bottle tabs which is more common. Trudi is an absolute pig when it comes to luxuries. She can only have the finest food and the finest cutlery when eating. She is not used to poverty like most of the people around NY are in. This hasn't given her a higher then others view on society but more of an appreciation that she rarely ever shows.

Among the fact that Trudi is a total glutton she is also a total nerd. She always has a book in his nose. It is not that is fascinated with the old world. In fact, as she been reading since she was quite young so for her if at some point she isn't ready is more settling then for some brute outside the confines of her world. Trudi will reread books quite often. She can zip through a book quite quickly in probably a few days or in some cases hours but one of her faults is that she can never remember anything after the fact. Not that she didn't enjoy it, it's more that it was finished and there were no needs to take it all in. So she reads a single book probably 3-4 times before she started to remember its contents more thoroughly and things start feeling familiar.

History:

Her parents were quite well off and when the flood came they sheltered in the high skyscrapers and later in the Town of Host which was quite well defended in the heart of Enterprise Coalition. As a young girl in a world where trading is something that anyway needs to do. Trudi became quite skilled at that from her family friend Tommy Howard who was a businessman in the Coalition. Trudi was his nickname for her so it stuck with her.

Trudi was not in anyway not streetwise she always carried a Pistol with her so that if she ever got mogged she could pull it out. Thankfully though she has never had the need to kill anyone. Though more than once she has had to ward off a lusty man with a shot or two; that didn't' settle well with Trudi.

Trudi is now out in the Neutral territory working for Cascadia all purpose company of sorts that Trudi help out in. Mostly with the business ends of things but she mainly goes out with her Partner Marina to salvage and do other things like that. It is always handing to has a second hand for working a good deal anyway.
Gear:
A week's worth of water in tabs
Some Coins
A Pistol with 2 Clips with 15 Rounds each
Common Clothing, Old Pre-Deluge Jeans with a homespun linen shirt
A week's worth of rations
A single hard candy
Boat: Average Boat

Appearance:
With a height of 5’2” and a weight of 152 pounds, Marina Docking is a relatively average woman. Her skin’s color similar to the lighter shades of sand beneath the water, the woman is in incredible shape due to her occupation. She doesn’t pride herself on beauty, but the not-so-subtle curves tend to give her a decent appeal, overall.

Her face, when not hidden by a mask and goggles, is round—commonly hosting a small smile and a golden twinkle in her hazel eyes. She has a small, cute nose...which she despises with a passion as thanks to her hometown constantly doting on her.

Framing her face are thick, disheveled waves of prairie-tinted blonde. Floating just above her shoulders, it is obvious that it doesn’t receive the luxuries of finer hair-care— instead having the texture more similar to a corn husk than actual hair.

Commonly, Marina wears a solid white bikini, hickory-brown daisy dukes, and an over-sized pine-green jacket. Due to her job, all articles are made from a water resistant fabric— and dry off relatively quickly compared to other materials.

⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟

Personality:
Much like her usual surroundings, Marina has currents hidden under the surface—and then even deeper currents, until you hit rock bottom in the darkest parts of her soul. Enigmatic and hard to predict on a first impression, she carries a cheerful, good natured aura about her— often going with the flow of the situation and maintaining a friendly attitude with most. Her communication methods are blunt, and frequently she is the first to tell an insensitive joke, roughhouse, or suddenly change plans. Assuming that those interacts with are the same as her, she is likely to go too far and cross boundaries she hasn’t even been told yet— all within the first day of meeting her.

Despite her friendliness, Marina is surprisingly introverted. She is cheerful, but it is a calming sort of cheer— more relatable to a night of stargazing than a rollercoaster. As such, she tends to keep personal matters to herself, and prefers silence over small talk. Likewise, she has no trouble leaving something unsaid when it is thought of as mutually understood— often leading to a multitude of confusions with whoever she interacts with. Combine this with her insensitivity to emotional states, along with her lack obligation to shift plans on others’ behalf...and nothing seems to come out right when she attempts any sort of empathy. Ironically, she has just as much trouble with her own emotions, often confused on how to appropriately express them without looking like a complete lunatic. Often times, she uses physical touch to express her emotions— tending to slip a hand in another’s, or sometimes approaching people in those few rare times she has nothing to do: leaning her head on a shoulder and falling asleep.

Being a self-proclaimed engineer, Marina is extremely curious— however she finds herself unable to stay focused on formal studies. Instead, she learns by doing— and as a result likes to keep herself busy. However, the woman is also easily bored— enjoying the new, exciting, and mysterious... and finds it just as easy for her to walk away from those things once she understands it. She is very imaginative with practical things, such as mechanic, and can easily make acquaintances to share these activities with— as well as jostle up some friendly competition. However, while she enjoys discussing new ideas with these acquaintances, these ideas can’t be abstract or distant to Marina. As such, she just simply cannot wrap her head around things such as politics, or philosophy.

Quite contradictory to her introverted self, Marina has a habit of building up a store of impulsive energy— which seemingly explodes without warning. A sudden sense of spontaneity urges the woman to act upon some illogical whim that breezed through her mind— often leading to differing degrees of danger, much to the woman’s enjoyment.

Socially, Marina is stubborn— frequently extremely blunt with irritation should one attempt to force her to change. She sees long term commitment as oppressive, preferring to approach life day by day. However, she is also extremely flexible and versatile: often doing what needs to be done without hesitation, and easily adapting to most situations. She isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, and her strong sense of direct fairness results in Marina accepting most forms of retaliation as fair play. Struggling with boundaries and guidelines, Marina prefers the freedom to move around independently— her tendency to explore her relationships through her actions leads to a multitude of increasingly frustrating situations for those close to her.

Opposing her irritation to change, Marina hypocritically has no problem trying to change the habits of others. Under (usually) good intentions, she doesn’t conform to tradition, and her laidback approach often ends up attempting to “loosen up” those close to the woman.

⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟⸞⸟

History:
Marina Docking was born in Brooks, a small dock town in the Neutral Territory which bordered the Enterprise Coalition. Her parents were, as the older folks say, a "power couple"-- the two of them doubling as a husband & wife scavenger-explorer duo. Being one of the younger couples in Brooks, Marina's parents were often relied upon to hunt for materials in the waters outside of town, due to the various conditions that plagued the dock town.

As such, once Marina had started talking, the parents returned to their daily runs-- leaving their daughter under the care of the local town doctor, an older man who often caved under the wanting gaze of a youth. To entertain Marina, he would tell her stories of his younger days, and how he attempted (and subsequently failed) to become a successful trader in the bordering affiliation.

When she wasn't listening to the old man's cautious tales, Marina was investigating her fascination for tinkering-- often making small toys out of scrap for the other kids, and eventually doing minor repairs for neighbors. The town grew to love her, and whenever somebody found a book that was even remotely close to engineering, they made sure to let Marina read it.

While this wasn't necessarily a formal education, she was at least taught how to read and write from the old man. Along with this, Marina learned the most when doing something-- which usually resulted in a lot of small explosions, which then resulted in many a lecture about safety whilst her burns and cuts were treated by the old man.

Meanwhile, Marina's parents were having to search farther and farther away from town, and one day they delved too far. Unintentionally passing the border into the Enterprise Coalition's territory, the married couple came across a sealed aluminum crate, labeled with the names of various tools and miscellaneous parts. Assuming it to be abandoned, the two took the crate back to town, and presented it as a birthday gift to their daughter, now ten years of age.

A couple of weeks later, a boat filled with strangers docked at Brooks. Upon explanation, it seemed that the package wasn't abandoned, and had actually belonged to a company who wasn't as charitable as some would hope-- and had hired a boat of mercenaries to search for the thieves who stole their property. With the discovery that Marina's parents were the people who were responsible for bringing the crate back to town, the married couple was promptly dealt with under the guise of "justice". Luckily for Marina, the old man who had raised her all these years managed to convince the mercenaries that she was his granddaughter, and as such had no idea that her birthday present was stolen property.

The crate, along with all of it possessions, was returned. The bodies of Marina's parents were cremated, and while the papers say that the local doctor adopted the young girl-- the whole town mourned their grief alongside her.

For the next few years, the entire town took part in teaching Marina how to safely dive and defend herself against the monsters of the deep. While nobody was near the level of professionalism needed to properly teach, the information was enough for Marina to eventually decide to set off and start her own business. While many tried to talk her out of the idea, her adoptive father merely gave her one final lecture before helping her set off at age 13.

For the following year, Marina was wildly unsuccessful with her business-- only barely scraping by with various small jobs throughout all of Brooklyn, from wedding rings to valuable memorabilia. Finally, she came across a research boat, who divulged their need for specific parts for an "experiment" for the Empire State Alliance. However, the research team couldn't locate these parts anywhere else but within a building said to be inhabited by sea serpents. Marina, recognizing the parts described, offered her services to the crew.

Upon returning with the parts, the crew promised to recommend her to their boss-- who later decided to seek out and hire Marina as a field agent for his company Cascadia. Seeing the opportunity for a steady pay for what would basically be the same job, Marina accepted.

For the following years, Marina continued to work for Cascadia. During this time, her reputation slowly grew as a hard-working agent who would always get the job done. Now, six years later, she has been sent by the company to investigate this...thing

Boat:
A skiff made of redwood, with an six-foot width and a seventeen-foot length. With a depth of 3 feet, there are long aluminum paddles attached to each inside wall, and two notches for them to be placed in.

On the backside, there is a small gasoline-powered motor with a tiller.

Inside, there are three large woven baskets spread out onto the floor: the first one stores Marina's tools; the second one holds what few spare clothes Marina owns, along with her scuba gear; and the last one protects her food and water supply.

Gear:
~ An old gas mask, which Marina modified with a rubber seal, an air pump, and a valve to turn into a diving mask. When paired with her goggles, Marina can both see and breathe underwater for as long as her air lasts.

~ Two standard-sized scuba tanks, which were fused together and modified into a backpack with two chains covered in fabric. Assuming the air is calmly taken in at a steady rate, it should last a single person about 90 minutes.

~ Various tools Marina has collected over the years. Definitely not waterproof, and kept in a basket on-board her boat.

~ Probably the nicest thing that Marina owns, Old Smokey is a break-action, double-barreled shotgun that, when not in use, is held in a water-tight case with some ammunition. A white bandana is wrapped around it.

~ A Deba knife, sheathed and carried on Marina's left hip.

Extra:
~ Marina's favorite food is crab— a delicacy that, while incredibly rare and expensive, reminds her of a yearly festival her hometown hosts.

~ Aesthetically, Marina tends to go for earthy shades to pair with the brightness of her favorite color, white.

~ While it isn't necessarily a phobia, Marina does feel uncomfortable around spiders of any kind.

~ For the sake of cleanliness, Marina owns two bikinis: one solid white, the other white with golden stripes.

Noah "Davison" Clarke
Age:
19
Class:
Thief/Soldier
Affiliation:
Enterprise Coalition
Personality:
Noah, despite his attempts to distance himself from his supposed father's quirks, has grown fond of his all-or-nothing worldview. He delights at the chance of taking big risks to reap massive rewards, whether in business or on the battlefield. He sees Robert Davison as an icon to the city and would rather put himself in harm's way than disappoint him. However, Noah is reckless in almost everything he does. The safety of his comrades falls short of his desire to accomplish whatever dangerous mission he is assigned to. A severe lack of confidence often leaves him as a nervous wreck. This makes him unreliable in combat, but stealth is Noah's specialty anyway.
History:
Noah was a young child when the Deluge took away his friends and family. Life was already difficult on account of severe poverty and neglectful parents. Still, he cared deeply for his siblings and did whatever he could to protect them. It was only by chance that he survived a wave that destroyed his home, all because he was climbing a fire escape ladder to rob an apartment building. This incident forever changed him. Saddled with a crippling fear of failure and inner regret, Noah joined a gang of delinquents while living in the Neutral Territory. Although he despised the other orphans that he lived with, it was the best option for someone in his dire circumstance. Few of them could have anticipated the Deluge's affects on the world around them.

For a number of years Noah travelled between dock towns, stealing unguarded supplies and leaving before anyone discovered the perpetrator. It was a dreary routine. Nevertheless, it helped him learn that trust was more valuable than gold, and carelessness meant death. His fellow gang members dwindled in numbers over time, either from being captured by locals or eaten by terrifying monsters. Staying out of sight was the only way Noah knew to stay alive. One day, he stole a hand-axe and decided to hide in an empty boat until the security forces left him alone. Much to his surprise, an older gentleman discovered him and did not react with anger, only curiosity. He had met Robert Davison.

Granting mercy on the young Noah, Robert opted to raise the boy in secret and put his talents to good use. For the first time in his life, he felt as though someone actually cared about him, and from that day on he was utterly loyal to his new father. Unaccustomed to the luxurious lifestyle of the Coalition, Noah enjoys tagging along with his father's troops and wandering the city's ruins. Most of the time he is tasked with smuggling contraband into the other boroughs at night. Becoming heir to Davison Industries was something of an afterthought to him compared to locating the secret of the NT zone.

Also, about the currency thing of the roleplay, I want to suggest that it'll differ from place to place. Due to the possible scarcity of resources brought by the Deluge, the currency will differ vastly from one faction to the other. And also on how great the value of one currency will be. For example:

From lowest to highest - can tabs, tokens, books, coins, cartridges/ammunition, then poker chips.

And the value of each currency will be somewhat like this:

1 poker chip = 60 ammunition, 50 coins, 4 books, 30 tokens, and 500 can tabs.

And the currency of each factions will be like this:

Coalition - poker chips/ammunition/coins

Republic - same with the Coaltion, but is more on ammunition plus books.

Alliance - coins/ammunition/can tabs/books

NT - all of the above but vastly with can tabs and rare on poker chips.

I hope this makes sense. It's kind of like that, I suppose?

So what is the deal with the doctor in Clear-water, Emilia and the kids are probably going to start heading over their.
