Year 2048, everyone knows the Third World War is around the corner. Overpopulation has reached a point where many countries are out of physical resources to sustain the people inside, so, they need to fight to expand their territories. USA saw this coming almost two decades ago and started a project to create their own weapons. They assumed that, if soldiers and weapons became the same thing, there would be nothing that could stop them. And so, they started Project Meta Weapons.
« Project Meta Weapons »
The Project gathered six newborns, during a time lapse of three years, in order to experiment with them the possibilities of genetical improvements, and what they’d be able to achieve. They were all raised separately from each others and exposed to different experiments, in order to elaborate six weapons with different abilities and weak points. Once they considered the six of them were ready, they would start implanting their genes to their own army and make sure they’d be the ones more benefited with the approaching war. Although they never reached to this point.
« The security breach »
Even though the six subjects always had every comfort they needed, they lived all their lives like prisoners, limited to only a few places inside the institution they lived in and the people taking care of them. They know they are different, they know there are only other five others like them, and they know that’s not the way they should be living. Even though people keeps telling them it is for a greater good, they don’t want to live their lives as experiments, though they have no idea how to escape.
That’s why the day of the security breach the six of them didn’t doubt getting away. An organization that supports human rights, even in times of crisis, had broken in the institution and opened all the doors for the subjects to escape. The RP will start this day, the second the doors are opened and they understand it’s their opportunity to leave. During the running away, they will find each others and decide to stick together, to increase their possibilities of surviving.
« The Subjects »
They are the only playable characters of the story, and there are six of them. Three males, three females. They all have their unique powers, and even though when they fully develop them they’ll be able to destroy a whole city with them, they are only just starting to use them. They tend to lose control and start chaos wherever they go, as well as hurting themselves and people around them. At the beginning of the RP they will only be able to use a small demonstration of their powers, and their challenge will be to learn how to use them together.
« Main Plot »
As the RP starts when they run away, their first challenge will be to stand each other, and find a way to survive in that world they know nothing about. Considering how expensive they were to the USA government, they will constantly be in danger of being caught, and will need to run away permanently. Hiding, surviving and understanding what they are, as well as what they should do with the ‘gifts’ they were given are only a few things they will need to deal with.
As the story develops, there will start to appear two sides inside this small group of subjects. Even though all of them believe they came to this world to make it better, they will clearly have different views about it, which will eventually start to grow them apart. While half of them believe in Destruction, which would clearly descend the population of the Earth, making it a better place for the ones that will survive, the other half believes they need to keep the peace. They know giving the chance to live to a few ones, while killing the other ones is wrong, and so they’ll need to find their own way to make a better place for everyone, as well as trying to control their group.
« Everyday Life »

Even though the RP is taking place in a futuristic world, everyday people has no access to new and improved technologies. The streets look like they did 30 years ago, since most resources are lead to find new ways of livestock and agriculture that would occupy the less possibly space. Anyway, a small portion of the society has access to all kind of transportation and entertainment technologies, though they would be hard to find to our characters. Cities are obviously crowded all times, many people living in the streets and all the houses had been replaced for tall buildings. Country sides are scarce, but if you search hard enough, you might enjoy a natural park at the outsides of a city.

Rules:
  • Follow all Iwaku rules.
  • You can be a complete jerk IC, but try to be respectful OOC.
  • Considering we have a group of young people that never knew someone their age until now, romance would not be a surprise. Anyway, we will be fading to black any mature content.
  • You need to be active, and more importantly, committed. It is a long term roleplay with a limited quantity of players, so we can’t have someone leaving in the middle of the story. Please, let us know if you won’t be replying for some time.
  • No godmodding, and if you are about to do something that will clearly change the story, you need to tell me about it in advance. Although the main idea will be plotting between all of us, I’d like to hear about main changes first.
  • One character per person, although if you want to add any NPC and play it, you are free to do it. Just ask first.
  • No one liners. Posts lengths may vary during different situations, but even if your character is only talking, at least a paragraph or two will be asked.

Taken spots: [5/6]

There is one available spot for a male that believes in peace, Subject#4. We recently started the IC, and as someone left the RP, we have this new available spot. There aren't many posts yet, so catching up shouldn't be a problem.

Shade - Subject #1 by @Zaira
18 years old, Straight Female.

∼ Appearance ∼

3d7902482441f3fc7b183d49a0c6270c.jpg

∼ Abilities ∼
Gravity manipulation.

Basically, she can control gravity.

Right below, there is a list of things that she might do with her power.

• Changing weight (Lowers the speed of certain enemies, turns heavy things into light ones, increases her own agility)
• Increase gravity (Immobilize enemies making them fall, shatters certain things against the floor)
• Decrease gravity (Causes levitation to herself or others, control of others or objects in the air)

Of course, her power has some limitations too.

• She can't use it against anything 10 meters away from her (in any direction, so she can't make someone fly over that distance.)
• She gets easily tired.
• Her power isn't completely precise. It's hard to target only one enemy, so she might change the gravity of him and anything around him. The most focused she is, the most precise she can be. If her enemy is close to her, she might not be able to affect him without affecting herself.
• She's not strong enough to take gravity away at all or increase it much, so, her power can be fought. For example, if her enemy holds to some objects well gripped to the floor while she lowers the gravity or tries hard enough to stand up when she is trying to immobilize him.

If she ever lose control, everything 10 meters, or sometimes even 20, around her would immediately be lifted up. This even includes any buildings or infrastructure, together with people and objects.

∼ Personality ∼

No one had ever been able to really see her, since she hides most of her feelings behind sarcasm and a faked coldness. She constantly has a wall around her, keeping people away. But, deep down, she cares. She cares about people, and especially about those individuals she had never met, but knows they are going through the same things she does. She tried many times before to get where the other subjects were, but couldn’t accomplish it. Besides, she's almost fearless, and is willing to sacrifice her life for her beliefs. Her ability to see things objectively and see the best in people, together with her strong personality, make her a good leader.

Anyway, she's still human. And, no matter how serious she might want to look, she needs to have some fun from time to time. That's why she enjoys pulling some pranks. Well, that and she seriously doesn't care for people's superficial emotions and pain. This also leads her to the small control she has for the things she says. She will be completely direct and, unless she has a reason not to, sincere. People inside the government institution usually dislike her and try to avoid her, and she is completely okay with that. Besides, no matter how much she tries to control them, her own emotions overwhelmed her sometimes, causing some dangerous rage attacks and little control over her powers under this situations.

∼ Feelings about the World ∼

She knows that, since her birth, she was meant to do something about the world. People who raised her said she’ll be the first one of an army with her powers, that would bring peace to the world. But she knew that wasn’t her mission. Even though she doesn’t know the world for herself yet, as soon as she does, she’ll want to do something. And, if destruction is the only way to improve people’s life, she wouldn’t hesitate to start.

∼ Quote∼

"You know that force that's preventing you from asphyxiation in the outer atmosphere? I can pull it off, so get lost."

Subject 2: Leon Corvinus by @Victor Markov
Age:18
Appearance:
latest

Genre: male

Sexual orientation: straight

Abilities:

Weapon summoning: able to conjure at least one weapon out of thin air. One rifle, rocket launcher, or LMG. Up to two handguns, SMG'S, or shotguns (depending on the type) two to eight knives or bayonets, two other melee weapons. All weapons have to be within 100 miles of his location and he must know what is within that radius to summon it. If he looses control, he will summon the wrong weapon or summon a weapon at the wrong time and in the wrong place. If shit really hits the fan, he'll summon a nuke that's been primed for launch with a timer already counting down without even intending to summon the wmd.

Innate combat proficiency: able to use a weapon without any training much like a master of that weapon. Also able to fight unarmed like a master martial artist. If he losses control, his muscle mass increases exponentially to where he's a mountain of muscle and a thousand times faster and stronger. But he's also getting seriously hurt when this happens. When he regains control and the excess muscle mass diminishes he's bedridden for days on end while his body heals.

Personality: comparable to Kenpachi Zaraki. Loves a good fight, horrid sense of direction, strong willed, stubborn, persistent, let's his opponents come to him, hates weaklings, a bit reckless. But deep down he has a good heart.

Thoughts about the world’s situation: "what's the world come to? They are à danger to themselves and it's time to sort out the sheep from the goats. The sheep will be safe, but the goats will perish in à hail of bullets and a storm of blades The scientists wanted a living weapon? They got one. Let's see how long until they wish they never went for a living weapon. They brought about their own destruction."

Quote: cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

Element Δ Number 3 by @firejay1
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Sexual orientation: Straight

ha_yeon_soo___min_seyi__monstar__by_maarsakurita-d6hz4gb.jpg

Abilities: In the very simplest of words, Element's powers are all about the state of matter. She can change the material something is made of, such as turning an object to gold, or cause it to become insubstantial or go from liquid to gas, etc. She can do this with anything as long as it is within her clear eyesight (if she is not touching it, her power doesn't work if she can't see the object or it is blurry), but it is most effective and precise when she is actually touching the object in question. Anything more biologically complicated than a plant or fungus she cannot affect at all if she is not directly touching it, and all living matter will eventually revert to their original materials and forms (still alive and relatively unaffected) once she stops paying attention to them. The purer and simpler the object is, the easier and less energy-consuming it is for her to affect it. So a bolt of a solid, pure metal, for instance, she could turn into its gaseous form barely even thinking about it even if it was fairly far away from her, whereas a petri dish of live bacteria would take some concentration if she was not touching it, and a human being would both require her to touch it and take so much energy she might pass out. To be clear, she cannot change shapes or colors, only materials and states, so if you handed her a piece of wood and asked her to make a dollar bill out of it, she wouldn't be able to help you, though she would be able to turn it into a very large, thick piece of something brown with the right texture. The limitations on this power are not terribly high, but they do require a great deal of knowledge to get complex changes right, so Element has a lot of chemical and biological information crammed into her head, not to mention a fairly good memory. For some reason, the ability to make things insubstantial comes the most naturally to her, so when her powers are going out of control, everything she looks directly at starts becoming insubstantial.

Personality: Element is a kind person. Having lived mostly by herself for years, she is not always very aware of people's needs and desires, and can sometimes say the wrong things, but she is mostly just kind and thoughtful and considerate and full of hope and joy. She is easily pleased, rarely angered, and wants very few physical things. Despite her innocent nature, however, she sees the world very clearly, and refuses to pretend things aren't real just because they aren't the way she wants them to be. When a situation is bad, she is always the last to panic or despair, and can handle even the most horrible situations with a great deal of equanimity. On the other hand, when she is angry, she can be downright nasty, holding grudges for a long time and using her powers to play tricks on people who've irritated her. Old hurts or troubles that she doesn't normally think about will come to the surface in these times, and she can say things that are childish, but very spiteful.

Thoughts about the world’s situation: Element supports peace, but that doesn't mean she's okay with what happened to her, the situation in which she was raised is completely unacceptable to her. She didn't want to become a weapon, or strange, or abnormal. She always wanted freedom, having a taste of it in the objects they brought to her to transform. But it is precisely for this reason that she doesn't want to kill. She was forced to become an abnormal for the sake of war, she doesn't want to become precisely what they made her to be. She may be a potential weapon and asset, but she has every intention of being the most uncooperative little asset on the planet. The current world makes her sad. Having had pleasantries her entire life has given her a taste of what life could be, and what it isn't. She has hope that the world could be better, but it's a sad sort of faint hope. The thing she loves the most about the world is the sky, the water, and the dirt beneath her feet. She loves nature, because in her sterile world, that was the one thing she never truly got to experience. To her, that's freedom, and her hope is that she can share this endless wonder of the simplest things with everyone else in the world.

Quote: "Look at this world. Isn't it beautiful? Too beautiful for me." "I'm not a person. I'm a book. You could say I am the culmination of alchemy, the Magnum Opus, incomplete without my recipe for immortality, but all man makes must be incomplete, after all."

The Boy Who Can Bend Metal - Subject#5 by @Spectre of the Fade

jon-bernthal-24-jpg.81910

19 | Gay | Brown Hair | Brown eyes | 5'10" | Neutral Good

"Did you see that? I did that! It was so cool!...That was cool, right? It isn't just me thinking it is?"

Ability - Magnetism and Metal Manipulation

Marcus has the ability to generate and control magnetic fields, as well as manipulate metal regardless of its ability to be magnetized. He can use these abilities to detect metals and metallic objects, lift and move items that contain metallic components, bend and reshape objects made from metal, and create shields of magnetic force.
The limitation is that using his abilities for anything beyond detection is fairly exhausting, and the amount of focus and energy required to accomplish a task rises right along with the size and complexity of it. For example, creating a dome shield big enough for multiple people to fit inside requires far more concentration and energy than creating a plate sized one to block a specific projectile. There is also a limited range in which he can work his abilities, it maxing out around 22 feet (7 meters).
Note on his shields: the harder the impact, the more energy is drained. A hard enough impact to one could kill him, under the right circumstances.
When he loses control of his abilities, any metal object in his immediate vicinity begins to warp and change in random fashions, meaning everything from mechanical parts in gadgets and cars to rebar and support columns in buildings could change into something radically different from its proper shape.

"I could fire that gun right now from right here, if I wanted. And you gave me a minute."

Personality

Marcus is a person that could be labeled soft, if one was unkind. He's a genuinely warmhearted and compassionate person, a good shoulder to cry on and the sort to always help a person he cares about as best as he can. He's also quite sensitive, on an emotional front, and can experience bouts of moodiness or depression. One should not make the mistake of assuming kindness to be naivety and sensitivity to be weakness, however. He has the strength of character to maintain that kindness, that compassion, that softness, even given the fact he was raised in a lab as a living experiment, and he knows how bad people can truly be. He chooses to see the good in them, chooses to be optimistic in regards to humanity's future, and chooses to believe that peace is possible without destruction.
Fighting isn't his first choice when it comes to resolving a conflict, nor is it the second, but if he can't reason with it or ignore it, he is more than capable of and more than willing to hit it in the face. He doesn't do revenge and his grudges are barely worthy of the word, but that doesn't mean he forgets whatever caused the conflict in the first place and he is not above trying to cause guilt trips.
Inwardly, he's surprisingly dependent on the opinions of others. Praise is what he works so hard for, and praise from people he cares about is something he would do quite a lot to get. Because of that, after one gains his trust, he's a fairly easy person to manipulate.

"No, I didn't like what we went through, and no, I don't want it happening again, but a group of people doing bad things is no reason to hit refresh on the entire planet. People change. Evolve. Grow. Become better. And they can't, if we do that."

Lori "Trip" Coins (co-ins) by @Shadicmaster
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexual orientation: Straight
84359c942d7f2ea32ea79e016e474754.jpg

Abilities: Mental Manipulation

Ability includes (at mastery level):
*Bending of wills weaker than her own

*Telepathy and empathy
(both the reading, of thought and emotion, as well as implanting false thought or feeling, or sharing them
among others)

*Illusions/the warping of relative reality as seen by a specific individual or group thereof

*Suppression of pain or emotion through manipulation of the brain's registering of the nervous impulses
(only effective for short term 'play through the pain', though the injuries and the full force of the pain on
the body are still very much there and effecting the body, just not the mind.)

*Mental barrier
(effective for both herself and others to resist, or completely block mental manipulation, or to allow full
control over her own body, such as to cheat herself perfectly through a lie detector test and resist drugs
that are meant to bend the will)

Current Ability levels:

*Slight direction of others against their normal intentions
-Requires extreme concentration at this point, and she has only succeeded in redirecting the intentions of
very simple creatures that have very weak wills

*Mind reading/Emotion reading
-Currently confined to a radial distance of ten yards, her ability to effectively enter into one's mind
growing weaker and more noticeable the closer they are to that limit. Outside of five yards, she has to
concentrate a decent amount to get this to work. If she becomes complacent while trying to infiltrate
one's mind, as is the case with redirection of will, the victim can become alerted to her presence and
erect a sort of 'mental barrier' to her attacks, to which she does not yet have the experience to bypass.

*Selective invisibility
-Dependent on how effectively she can infiltrate her target's mind, she can erase an object of her own
size, or even herself, from her target's perception, or, add an object into their perception of her size. This
is much more complex than reading one's mind, and thus, takes a significant amount of time and energy
for her to accomplish. A more practical application is the ability to change her own appearance, or the
appearance of much smaller objects, as, though this requires the same amount of time to infiltrate the
target's sensory systems, it requires less manipulation and thus less energy.

*High tolerance to pain and emotionally distant
-Due to having an intricate knowledge of her own mind through exploring her powers, Lori can instantly
reduce the impact of pain on her system, and, upon her own discretion, can control her emotional and
neurochemical output. There is the resulting consequence, however, that she will be subject to the full
force of the blocked pain as soon as she lets down the barrier, and will be subject to the entire force
combined of every moment of emotion that she blocked as soon as she lets down her barrier.

*High mental resistance
-For the same reasons that she can control her pain and emotions to a limited level, Lori is resistant to
mind altering substances, reducing their effectiveness to half, with the exception of tranquilizers as they
work too fast for her to block their effects. She has also been proven to be able to lie on a lie detector
test without detection to a limited degree, so long as there is a small element of truth to her statements
and tells no more than three lies in the session. This ability has shown itself to produce rebellious
tendencies in experiment 6

Control Break:
Due to her constant use of power (unless asleep) her loss of control is a regular event that has been roughly timed by her 'fosters', which is to their benefit. Surely if she didnt use her powers as much, it would be much milder in effect, but as it is currently, her control break is identifiable, even to herself as to when it's happening. She has about five minute's head start to warn others if they dont know what is to happen, else, anyone within 7 yardsbe put under excruciating pain, whether 'physical' or emotional in nature, a compilation of all that she had experienced since her last break, equally spread among any who are nearby. It is also inflicted upon herself, but since she has already experienced all of it, the effect is lessened on her, though still very painful. If kept within a 2 yard radius of her for more than thirty seconds of her minute and a half episode, there is a high likelihood of severe PTSD or other stress related disorders due to the above average pressures of emotion and physical pain inflicted. If left within said radius for the entire time, it is highly likely that you are no longer alive. Surviving the entire episode within an additional 3 yards of the initial 2 yards, you are also highly likely to develop mental stress related disorders that will require therapy.

Other power related information:
In accordance to the nature of her power, Lori was intended to be used as an incognito agent, as well as a disposable infiltration tool, when not being used for torture, control, or interrogation. In the event of capture, they had the hope of her having, by that time, controlled her break well enough to release it at will in order to inflict her own escape through the torture of her torturers.

Personality: Due to the influence of her own powers, Lori developed to be emotionally detached around others to hide any vulnerability in herself, only letting down her defense on such when alone or when asleep, causing her to be plagued with violent nightmares nightly. Since she gets little rest and recovery from sleeping, she has developed deep energy stores that recover from any idle activity, causing her to be worked relentlessly in tests. As her mental resistance developed, however, she grew more rebellious, only giving outlet for her illusory powers as she worked to evade her 'family'. By the night of the breach, she is more than ready to take any opportunity to leave the iron thumb that threatens to crush her independence daily.

Thoughts about the world’s situation: If the world is full of people like the ones who decided it would be a good idea to use children as nothing more than weapons through genetic manipulation, then they all need to die. If anyone can prove themselves free of blemish to a reasonable degree, they should be let to live in the new world, able to reproduce a new era of humans who are raised with a mentality of peace and harmony instead of attempting to change those who have been set many years into their ways, who could just as easily be conducting studies like the ones that they came from in secret. It is no question that Lori will be an advocate of destruction as her independent opinions are developed.

I'm interesting in this rp. ^.^ could I use weapon summoning and innate combat proficiency for my powers? I'll have him on the team hellbent on destruction just to give the destroyers a little more of an edge. Gravity is useful as is a combat expert that can walk into a building unarmed and leave the law clueless about how the victims have bullet holes when nobody that was inside had a weapon and nobody set off the metal detectors.

I'm glad to see you are :) Sounds great, and definitely something people would want for a soldier. Just make sure to give him some limitations, and it'll work just fine.

Can't wait to see him!

I can easily limit the weapon summoning, but the innate combat proficiency is very hard to limit.

That would be enough! He might start being incredibly good, but still not better than a well trained human, and will improve during the RP. I really want to see a lot of improvement in all our characters until the group starts to fall apart.

May I reserve a spot? I can't make a CS right away, but I can soon, and this looks really interesting! I'm thinking of making a character with the ability to change how substantial the object is and what it's made of (alchemical powers basically). Number 3. For peace. I think female. Is that alright?

Of course! Her ability sounds interesting. Can't wait to see her CS.

By the way, I just updated the rules to add the minimum post length required for the RP. Please check it out to make sure you all agree to it.

This sounds intresting lol. I would love to reserve a guy...thinking up a power....mihgt have him up tomorrow or wednesday^^.

I'd like to reserve a spot for a male for peace, if possible? I'll get my sheet up as soon as I figure out a power for him.

When I make a character with a superpower I usually put the power(s) I know I would love to have personally down for my character.

Well, I'm trying to figure out something that would suit my character's personality, not my own wants.

Would something involving empathy and/or emotional manipulation be acceptable, given appropriate limitations? I'm considering other things, if that's not okay.

I have a bit of a dilemma here about a good picture for my character. Can't find a good picture to use for Leon and all I have is anime pictures and a picture of Sabertooth from xmen origins wolverine.

Working on a CS for a female for distruction

EDIT: Omg, the character that is up has pretty much the same personality I was going to use >.> I guess I'll just have to make a couple of changes

Name: Element Δ Number 3
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Sexual orientation: Straight

Name: Lori "Trip" Coins (co-ins)
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexual orientation: Straight
(effective for both herself and others to resist, or completely block mental manipulation, or to allow full
control over her own body, such as to cheat herself perfectly through a lie detector test and resist drugs
that are meant to bend the will)
bf6ae0814d07b0760af150477617848b.jpg

She has about five minute's head start to warn others if they dont know what is to happen, else, anyone within 7 yards be put under excruciating pain, whether 'physical' or emotional in nature, a compilation of all that she had experienced since her last break, equally spread among any who are nearby.
