When Corrin and Azura watched as Arthur came running out the corner, bolting for that thief, Corrin was hesitant at first to intervene. She didn't want too much attention put on them at all in the city, especially since they were unknowns, and Corrin almost wanted to keep it that way. At least until they figured out a plan for what to do. They needed to get back to their world, the fate of two kingdoms rested on it, and any distractions would mean time wasted, and both kingdoms were closer to destroying each other.
Then the bird flew in, and both of them were shocked by it. They were curious as to where it came from, but then. Arthur clobbered the living fuck out of that thief, he was on his goddamn head, and the clothesline was so loud, both of them could hear it from only a couple feet away; like it echoed. Corrin put her hand out in front of Azura, subconsciously shielding her slightly, but after Arthur grabbed his money, she lowered the hand. Once Arthur approached them, Corrin again looked hesitant.
"Hello." She told Arthur in response.
As Arthur asked his question, Corrin's eyelash raised up in curiosity, and soon Azura spoke up.
"You're not from this world either?" She sounded quite reserved when speaking. She wasn't planning to, but the question and seeming revelation jolted the response from her lips.
"Yeah-Yeah, bright flash, green colored, felt like you were falling a hundred feet?" Arthur asked back.
Corrin looked Arthur up and down.
"You clearly aren't from our world either." She commented, since Arthur looked way out of place, even by their standards.
"Wait, you guys aren't from this place either?" The High Efl interjected himself into the conversation. Again, a bright flash blinded the three of them, but it wasn't the same one that brought theme here. The green was darker, and looking back at the elf, he turned into.... A teenager. A young, human, teen, maybe even in his young adult years? Arthur was extremely confused by what the fuck just happened.
"Ben Tennyson! Sorry, I was blending in with the locals." Ben put his hand out to shake Arthur's, but the outlaw looked puzzled, even more so than before.
".... How...." Arthur was clearly stunned by what he saw.
"How the hell did you do that?" Now Arthur was gonna start believing in shapeshifters by this point.
Ben pulled up his wrist to show was he was wearing.
"Omnitrix. Allows me to transform into different lifeforms. I got teleported here about a week ago, and I've been trying to blend in ever since."
"We've been here around the same time." Corrin said back.
"How long have you been here?"
"Uuhhhh, about the last hour or so. Sorry, this is all just going over my head at this point. But I know a feller who knows how to get us back to our homes, I came here with a group of people from another planet, and right now we're just waiting for our.... TARIS? I think, it's called that, either way, we might have ourselves a way out of here, we just need to wait for it to recharge."
Corrin, Azura and Ben looked to each other. Finally, luck was back on their side.
"That's great!" Ben said with a little laugh.
"We're going back home!" Corrin said to Azura, who was a little more reserved again, just giving a small smile of relief.
"Now, I don't know if we can get you back to your homes, but right now I gotta get your three to the Doctor, he'll wanna talk with you and tell your our situation--" Just as Arthur turned around to lead them all back to the doctor, he noticed two people walking towards them. Both were covered in red hoods, and looking right at them all. Arthur didn't like it one bit.
"We'll go the other way around." He told the three, signaling them to back up. When turning around though, two more men in red hoods came around the corner. All four of them had knifes in hand, and they were quick to circle the four.
Luer had no issue ignoring the stares from the people around them. When they were stopped by some guards he rose a brow. Ignorance… "I am not going to leash someone who is injured and needs help. Despite his appearance he has never been hostile, to me or anyone else." He stated. People who judge based on appearances, they piss him off. These guards had no right. It was obvious this intimidation attempt failed on him. Look at Dusk! Now that is an intimidating being. But this guy? Not a chance.
He turned when a woman's voice called for the guards, but his expression seemed to read confusion as she insisted they were to help her husband. He did not recall agreeing to do anything of the sort. It did not take him long to realize why she said it though. He focused back on the guards and gave a glare as they demanded he put a control on Dusk. He was not going to leash an intelligent and gentle… man? He will go with that.
He tried to shake it off though, and give a thankful look to Ralsa. "We owe you. If I can help as a way to repay that, I would be happy to." He stated. He could not say for sure if Dusk felt the same, but the creature was no doubt a gentle one. He just needed a way to communicate with him and that would help things a lot. "What does your husband need help with?"
"Where are my manners?" The woman straightened out her back, and gave a small bow to Luer and Dusk. "I'm Ralsa Norvalo. My husband, Gilen, has been in need of aid for his mission for some time now. Normally, I wouldn't approach total strangers, especially with such a bruiting beast like yours, but Gilen seemed insistent on trying to find new members to recruit. Please, forgive my audacity." She seemed quite apologetic, even though she saved Luer and Dusk from jail time, or worse.
"I myself try not to interfere with his work too much, as Gilen tends to exaggerate quite a bit. But, in this case, he sounded so earnest, which has worries me a bit. The matter he needs help with is of the 'utmost importance' to the citizens of the Imperial City. If you follow me, I can lead you to where my husband would be this time of day, there you two could talk in person. If you will." Like that, the woman gestured for Luer and Dusk to follow, who took them to the Temple District of the city. The house they would be lead to was along the wall of the district, and Ralsa was quick to knock on the door when they arrived. The door opened slightly, not showing whoever's face was behind it, but Ralsa talked to them quietly. The door closed, and Ralsa moved back to Luer. "Seridur, the house owner, is looking forward to meeting you. Thank you for your help." Ralsa smiled, nodded, and began walking back to the other district.
When Luer and Dusk walked through the door, both of them would be met with two men. One a dark elf, the other a high elf. The high elf approached first. "It's an honor to meet you both!" He said, shaking Luer's hand. "Gilen's wife was quick to inform me of how you met with her, and just from looking at you both, I can see why she believed you two would be of benefit to our organization." Like with Salsa, the high elf stepped back and bowed at Luer. "I am Seridur, owner of the house. I realize how unorthodox this whole thing is, but it would be better if we spoke indoors than in the streets right now, especially as nightfall is approaching. If you'll follow me."
All of this seemed quite strange, especially with how cautious and vague they were being. Luer and Dusk were led downstairs into the cellar, where the walls were lined with a strange symbol. A sun with a droplet within its center. As well, an argonian and yet another dark elf was down there, talking to each other when Seridur made his way down the stairs. "Welcome. You're now in the sanctuary of the Order of Virtuous blood. Few outside our circle have ever set foot in our hallowed halls." Seridur spoke, showing them the center of the basement. "We are, for lack of a better word, defenders. We guard this city from an infestation that plagues it. We are vampire hunters."
- Artis Solum, Twilight Warrior - Cyrodiil, The Bloated Float Inn -
The Knight that had entered was certainly intimidating at first, leaving Artis thinking for a short while that he was there on, less than pleasant business that he probably didn't want to be a part of. These concerns were thrown to the wayside after Callintus removed his helmet, greeting the High Elf Ormil like an old friend, though he apparently had some confidential information that he couldn't share, not even to Ormil. Soon however, Callintus turned his attention to Artis and commented on his clothing, though it wasn't only to himself and thus, Callintus drew Artis's attention toward Delsin at last, giving him a friendly smile before facing the Knight once more, noting his comment regarding his "rain coat", twirling one of the silver drawstrings on said coat, chuckling softly.
"I'm just most comfortable in this, though when the rain does come, I'm more than prepared. Thankfully, I'm not as warm as you may be thinking either." Artis commented, then decided to evaluate the Knight's attire with his eyes. "You're certainly well dressed compared to I, Sir...Call-in-tus? I hope I remembered that correctly, my name is Artis, by the way. Pleasure to meet you." Artis spoke with a respectful bow, then turned to Delsin, who hadn't risen from his seat, but had also addressed Callintus's remarks. "And yourself, Mr...?"
@The Wanderer @AIM Leader Wade
Callintus let out a roarous laugh when Artis spoke on his attire. He already liked the young lad. "Well, so long as you don't get heat stroke in that thing, who am I to judge? Have you seen what I'm wearing?" He joked, though Ormil was quick to interject. "Come now, Callintus, your armor is the holiest in all of Tamriel, don't judge it like that!"
"It's only a joke, Ormil, nothing to fear. The gods understand humor, who are they to care about a small joke like that...... Maybe armor feels a little too heavy now." Callintus seemingly couldn't move his arms or legs, and Ormil suddenly looked worried. Then Callintus let out another laugh, moving freely. Must've been an inside joke or something. "Pleasure to meet you, Artis. Tell me, what brings you all the way out here to Cyrodiil? From the jacket, I'm guessing Skyrim was colder than usual?" He joked, figuring maybe Artis was from the land of the Nords.
"And what about you, young lad? I can't say you look like anything I've ever seen before." He looked to Delsin with his own question, speaking also of his clothing choice. Callintus wasn't sure if his was better or worse than what Artis was wearing, since Delsin looked to be ready for the summer, though the colors of his clothing were the most unusual.
After the encounter with Saturos and Menardi at Venus Lighthouse, and the battle against their fused alternate form; Fusion Dragon, Isaac and his party had witnessed Venus Lighthouse lit once more. After some hardships, he and his friends returned to the town of Lalivero, where a servant of Lord Babi had passed Isaac a item known as the Black Orb and was tasked with the objective to find Lemuria. Entering the dock to obtain Babi's ship, they found it was submerged in water.
View attachment 174082
Channelling the power of Psynergy into the Black Orb, Isaac successfully raised the ship onto the water and his party boarded the craft.
"
Are you sure we should be doing this? We don't even know where Lemuria is!"
"
Didn't you see it from utop Venus Lighthouse? It was the area covered in perpetual mist and fog."
"
Wherever it is, I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to leaving Gondowon... All my life has been there."
"
Don't you think we all have had our lifes there? You're so inconsiderate, Mia."
"
I'm the inconsiderate one? You were the one who kept bugging Isaac to wake up after passing out at Colosso, Garet!"
"
We shouldn't be fighting right now. We should try to remain focused. We need to find Lemuria while also trying to find Felix and Jenna..."
"Ivan is right. Jenna and Felix are out there, somewhere. Our only stop to try to find them is Jupiter Lighthouse. Otherwise, they may be trying to find us in order to obtain the Mars Star."
"
You're right Isaac. Let's get going."
As they made their journey out into the great Eastern Sea, something was afoot. All of a sudden the ship came into contact with some kind of Green Energy, and it engulfed Isaac completely.
"
Isaac?"
"What's going on...? What's happening to me?"
Then all of a sudden, Isaac completely disappeared from the ship leaving Garet, Ivan and Mia alone on the Lemurian Ship.
"
Isaac?"
"
Isaac?"
"
Isaac?"
The party looked at each other for a moment, then back to where Isaac disappeared.
"
Isaac!"
"
Isaac!"
"
Isaac!"
"
Isaac!"
"
Isaac!"
With so much going in within the city, out of everyone, the most important person inside the city, if not the whole world, was hiding. They had a part to play in Tamriel's biggest stage, yet when faced with this revelation, they ran. Why? Well, we need to go back a month.
Imperial prisons, especially in the city, are wet, dirty, and so deep below the ground, by nighttime it feels like you're trying to sleep in the negative temperatures. Doesn't help the only source of light to outside is a small, square, barred up hole with no glass window, so if it's raining out, your cell will have a giant puddle, or god forbid it start snowing. In the case of one 'Athena,' she'd only been in her cell for three days, awaiting trail for a crime she certainly did commit. Smuggling. The lightest of her offenses, as she was a jack of all trades. A merc for hire, one who would protect caravans trading in illegal goods, as well being a very good lock pick, pickpocket, and even a bounty hunter. Her life of crime was one she adopted long ago when she was just a child, a necessity to ensure her survival. Adapt or die. But, a story for another day.
For now, she was stuck in a cell, wearing basically potato sacks for clothing, with a dark elf in the cell opposite of her's, mocking both how she'll die in prison, and being extremely racist to her, all because an Imperial patrol decided to check the smuggled cargo to see it was filled with skooma. And that's not a drug you wanna be seen with around Imperial soldiers. It was either a life sentence in a prison far from here, or perhaps public execution, since she wasn't exactly pleasant to the guard who searched them. Expecting the worst, Athena was given a surprising amount of good luck. Three men in strange armor, calling themselves 'The Blades,' were guiding a man of great importance through her cell and down a secret passage; the door to it being a wall made of stones just next to her bed. Quite ironic to think about.
The man they were guiding and protecting? The emperor himself. Uriel Septim VII. At first, Athena didn't recognize him, and even when he revealed himself to her, she barely even blinked. She wasn't exactly found of the empire, much less a man who controlled it. In the brief time she knew him though, Uriel seemed different than what she initially thought of him. He had a kindness to him, his eyes had a comfort, and his voice deep, yet soothing. Uriel had a better understanding of what was to happen today than his blades did. Following Uriel, Athena escaped from her cell, and while the blades tried to keep her away, managing to trap her in a small section of the passage by locking one of the many metal doors, she somehow found herself crawling through a maze like dungeon, where goblins and rats festered in caves. When finding Uriel again on the other side, the blades wished to kill her, believing she was working for the assassins chasing them, but Uriel stopped them from such an act.
He had seen her before, you see. In his dreams. Her role in the world would soon drastically change once she left this place. And Uriel's would end soon. Yet he seemed not bothered by this. The blades didn't believe they would fail, and Uriel wouldn't see them as failures for when it was to happen. The only thing that mattered was Athena. Letting her follow again, the Blades found themselves trapped in a corner, with assassins all around them. Athena was given a weapon to protect the emperor. Yet the emperor was quick to hand her something else instead of a blade.
The Amulet of Kings. The most precious item of all the empire. A massive red jewel in the shape of a shield, held together by a small golden chain. The emperor emplored her to find a way out of these caves, find a man called Jauffre, and locate his only living son. She may not believe in destiny, but the gods have given her a new purpose in life. "Close shut the jaws of Oblivion." Those were Uriel's last words, before an assassin snuck up from behind a hidden door, and jabbed a knife into Uriel's back. Athena killed the assassin, but the only remaining blade looked in shock by the scene.
He understood what happened, and Athena explained what the Emperor told her. The blade encouraged her to also do the same, find Jauffre, and deliver the Amulet of Kings for the good of Tamriel. He would stay behind a protect the emperor's body, while she escaped the secret passage. Handing her a silver sword, Athena looked to the blade one last time, and ran. She found herself in the sewer system of the city, where it was cramped, dark, wet, dripping with water, and filled to the brim with mud crabs, rats, and even a few goblins. Not too far away from the cell. The smell even matched.
Once Isaac had come back to, he discovered he wasn't on the ship anymore. He was in a dirty, smelly and rancid sewer section of a city, crawling with rats, goblins and some kind of crab. Taking a look around for a moment, he gathered his surroundings.
"(Where exactly am I...? I was just with my friends travelling to Lemuria a second ago...")
He confirmed to himself, looking for any similarities. There weren't any, so he immediately speculated that he wasn't in a familiar town setting. That was however when some Goblins came to attack him. Recognising them as closely related to the Hobgoblin line-up chain that he had faced while travelling Weyard, he had prepared his weapon and braced for combat. He utilised part of his Venus Psynergy to cause two small quakes of Earth and knocked them about in the small confined space that they were in. Would anyone up above where he was feel small tremors?
After a few minutes of defeating Goblins either with his Psynergy or with his Gaia Sword, he continued to press on-wards in whatever or wherever he was. Eventually, he found a woman. He wasn't quite sure what to think of her, considering both the state she's in and the local around her.
"Excuse me, ma'am? Where exactly am I?"
From how the woman was dressed, she was clearly covered in sewage, had dirty skin, and was holding a knife in her hand. Isaac shouldn't approach a scared person in the dark, especially since they were looking for a chance to escape. She had just found her way through the sewer system, killing a mud crap or two, along with a big rat, all with a small dagger. She held it downwards, and stood ready to attack Isaac if he approached. While it was dark, the end of the tunnel was around 50 feet away, with the light outside just illuminating the darkness around them, so she could make out Isaac.
He looked like a kid. Around his later teenage years, or perhaps young adulthood. His armor as well was shiny and new, nothing Imperial about it, so he wasn't a guard. She had felt the tremors from a couple minutes ago, feeling they were coming from his direction, so.... Who was this kid? "..... What's your name?" She asked Isaac, slowly backing away towards the end of the tunnel. She was in not trusting mode, not looking to hurt him, but if he attacked, she wasn't gonna let him go after her.
Lincoln Campbell
Lincoln took a look around for the others. With his own curious nature, he had somehow lost the group that he had been traveling with. He tried to locate them, but it seemed that he started to run himself in circles with searching. After a while, he just gave up. They were sure to find him eventually. He tilted and looked over at the man who seemed so much older than he was. He wondered if he had a place to shower as he wasn't sure if this man had ever experienced one before. He felt kind of bad for this strange man though.
"
I would help you if I have could, but I honestly don't have any coins on me. Just got the clothes on my back, my backpack, my medical supplies and a bouncy ball."
Scott McCall
Scott wondered what had happened to the rest of the party, both the ones they seemed to have lost in the city and the ones who weren't with them. It seemed kind of weird to be without the strange blue healer thing, hopefully, she wouldn't find herself in too much trouble. He was impressed by what the doctor had done to get a mad, though he wasn't entirely sure it was legal in most places, though he wasn't about to comment on that though. "
Well, that certainly isn't the place I expected it to be called. I can honestly say that despite coming from a supernatural world, i have never encountered elves. It's been other obscure supernatural creatures. Hunters, kitsunes of varying types, genetic hybrids... actually, it's been mostly obscure things outside of fellow werewolves."
Scott wasn't sure if he agreed with what the doctor said entirely about liking it here more though. As he listened to Alistia describe a primal, he felt a shiver down his spine. "
Honestly, I have met people like that, but I think there is something a little scary that I have in my world. Ghost riders. They tend to take people and erase them from history. All memories of that person, any trace of them... gone forever. Forgotten and lost. They can be your best friend or your child, you would just forget them as if they had never existed in the first place.... it's kind of terrifying. Nearly lost a good friend that way.Only thing scarier was the Anuk-Ite. Infected people and fed off the fear and literally can tear communities apart through fear..... You got anything that scares you doctor?"
@AIM Leader Wade @Snowtwo
The Doctor listened as Alistia and Scott discussed their worlds, and how insane they sounded. He felt sad for Alistia, since she seemed just around Scott's age, yet mentally, she sounded quite wound up. Her role in her world put so much weight on her. And it takes a lifetime to get used to that feeling. He should know it. He's lived plenty.
"Me? No, no, not much scares me these days. You been around the universes a couple hundred times, not much gives you chills. Though, time to time, I can get pretty surprised." He started to explain, seeing some children play around in the streets as they walked through the Elven Garden District.
"Finding an ancient alien species long since thought extinct. Saving a planet from immanent doom. Stopping various invasions on Earth. Even saving the universe by the skin of my teeth one time too many."
What's it been, twenty times now he's done that?
"But, even with all that, can't help but keep going round, finding things to do, places to see, companions to being along for the fun of it all." He turned around to face Scott and Alistia when he mentioned that, walking backwards for a couple seconds, before turning around.
"And yet, somehow, trouble finds me, and I manage to undue it. Really, if someone said they'd blow up this planet in thirty seconds, not to brag, but I think I can stop them." He joked.
"The jitters have all but gone from my system." He still does worry about the safety of others, and indeed, the lives of a few never made it back as he promised them. Some had been left behinds, others simply died.
Their weight was also on his shoulders. But he kept on going. For the sake of the universe, Earth, and those who were still around.
"Tell you one thing, Alistia. If you ever need any help, think I can squeeze some time in my schedule to come over to your universe, see if we can put that primal in its place, make it obedient to ya.... Also, just 'The Doctor,' not Mr., but weird sounding." As they kept walking, Scott would notice a person in red robes out the corner of his eye. He was standing behind one of the corners, though he he turned to face whoever this was, they were gone.
The Doctor himself noticed a paperboy running along the streets, shouting, "Newest edition of the Black Horse Courier! Further details on the death of Uriel Septim, and the reaction from across the empire!" That certainly caught the doctor's attention. He grabbed a paper from the boy, flashing his own psychic paper to get it for free, and read over the contents.
"On 12th of Sun's Height, the evening of Middas, it was reported by the Imperial council that Uriel Septim VII was assassinated. New details allege that he attempted to flee the city, but was ambushed by the assassin's before he reached outside the walls. His body is to be buried within the Septim tomb, and with no heir to take the throne, the mages say that the Dragonfires will go out for the first time in centuries." The doctor read from the paper. Seems them arriving here was quite the coincidence, as the empire was undergoing a massive crisis at the moment.
Gray Fox/Frank Jaeger
Frank returned most of the gazes with a cold stare until they looked away. Thankfully the leader of this merry band of combatants in this arena approached him. Looking annoyed, he asked Frank what he was doing. His reply was a simple "I wish to partake in the arena's 'activities.'" His face remaining neutral even as the man before him laughed at his choice in words. Before the humor vanishing with a mixture of surprise and renewed annoyance.
He would give the man a few seconds of silence where Frank stared at him. Before speaking up finally. "Unlike the random civilian that walks in here with no experience in the way of combat, seeking either glory or money only to end up wasting their life because the only training they had was killing an animal or practicing on dummy targets. I have experienced and done many things. I was probably younger than you were when you were but a child when I tasted the flavor of battle. Watched as my fellow boys in arms die from starvation or from the enemy. Dying for no reason other than because someone gave them that command."
He paused to stare right into the man's eyes. "I probably have more experience in combat and killing than you or most of the people in this room. And for you to accept, you want me to either regale you with tales of battles fought as if I were to tell a child dreaming of joining the military, filling their heads with grandeur only for them to die in a hole, or waste both of our times fighting a straw dummy? The only way to show off my skill is through direct usage. Put me in a match against someone and I will show you what I mean." He did not let his voice rise or lower. It kept the same level of the deadpan tone. Truth be told, part of him felt sad at the words as he wasn't exactly exaggerating, he was a child soldier, fought well in to his teens until Big Boss saved him from that life, or at least attempted to.
As he was soon pulled back in, brainwashed into being Null, later joining Foxhound and becoming its top agent and following Big Boss as he went to build a haven for people like him. Soldiers that were dishonored or rejected for simply fighting for a cause for what they believed in, later dying at the hands of his friend then being reborn as this freak of nature.
The redguard didn't seemed phased by Frank's story, though his body language changed slightly, seeming less aggressive than before. To take Frank's word for his story was a fool's mistake, the redguard needed proof of his skill, but his story sounded sincere. Soldiers had joined the arena before, looking to do battle, some being veterans wanting that sense of adrenaline they had while in the battles of a war, only to be chopped down in the end. And from how Frank sounded, he didn't have the aura of a liar. "You certainly don't sound like any other warrior trying to join up." The redguard commented, before finally giving in. "All right, it's your funeral. Welcome to the arena, you filthy pit dog. You're free to fight, so long as you know the rules of competition.
You fight for the blue team. You fight against the yellow team. In order to fight in the arena you must wear an arena battle raiment. The battle raiment covers your entire body. You can use your own helmet, shield, and weapon, so chose them wisely. The battle raiment's already enchanted, so you can't muck with it. But aside from that, anything goes. Magic, stealth.... whatever you need to win. Whenever you want to fight, you come to me, you tell me you're ready for a fight, and away you'll go. Got it? Good. Now, for your battle raiment. It's the uniform of all arena combatants. Do you want a light raiment, or a heavy raiment?"
" I would help you if I have could, but I honestly don't have any coins on me. Just got the clothes on my back, my backpack, my medical supplies and a bouncy ball."
The older redguard sighed, and stood up. "Well, thanks anyway." Just looking behind, Lincoln could see a more poorer homeless person, wearing ragged clothing and looking completely disheveled. This guy looked in much better condition though, so how the hell did he end up on the street. "I'd suggest you look out for him. I don't know his name, but he wears high imperial officer armor, and he see's you staring at him the wrong way, you better start walking. Luronk, buddy of mine, and I were shopping at Jensine's when he accused us of stealing. Even Jensine said we were innocent, but he didn't care. He said we had to pay his 'fine,' or go to jail."
