I really, really want to write something good set in this universe! I have a character who is very dear to me and I haven't been able to write him for quite some time now. The one RP I do have with him (not here on Iwaku) has a grand total of three posts, two of which are mine, and I've been waiting for a reply for over a month now. So it's safe for me to say that RP is dead... and this makes me a very sad writer.

SO. I come to you!

Things you must know.
  • Know your grammar. Be a decent writer. Please proofread your post before posting and filter out any typos you may find. Don't worry, I make them too and I'm not the type to get angry at a typo. Just... make some effort. ^^
  • Third person only, written on this forum. No PM RP.
  • NO ONELINERS. I can't stress this enough! I'm not expecting novel posts (I don't mind them of course, and you'll get them occasionally regardless) but PLEASE, give me something to work with! Quality over quantity, I expect at least a paragraph. I will do my utmost best to give you plenty of things for your character to interact with in return.
  • Help me drive the plot forward. Don't leave it all to me. If you have ideas, then by all means, please share them. I love discussing plot!
  • And speaking of plot, plot over porn please. Sex will undoubtedly happen (and when they do I like these scenes nicely graphic and detailed :D), but it shouldn't be the main focus of the story. I don't want to rush it, character interaction and development is so much more important.
  • If you have an issue with me or the RP of any kind, or want to stop, please let me know. I'm friendly, I swear!
I do not play full dominant tops. I mostly play switches and/or pushy bottoms/power bottoms who know what they like. Please keep this in mind.

Also, I can get graphic. Not meaning limbs and guts flying, just that I prefer to be descriptive and that includes violent scenes. If this bothers you, we probably shouldn't RP.
I also like my RPs dark and realistic! Not saying I don't enjoy a good balance of drama, angst, fluff, romance, sex and humor, I very much do! But my RPs generally aren't kittens and rainbows. I am okay with torture and noncon too, though it's obviously not a requirement or anything.

And now onto the RP itself! Yaaaaay!

I'd like the setting to be either Skyrim, or during the events of TESIII Morrowind. The character I will be using is based on my very first Morrowind character, though he wasn't much of a real character back then. I turned him into an actual fleshed out RP character about a year ago.

So while this character was originally written for a Morrowind setting, I have an adapted version of him fit for use in Skyrim. He's neither the Dragonborn nor is he the Nerevarine. Morrowind does have my preference, but really I can work with either. No Oblivion, sorry.

I don't have any real plot ideas yet. That all depends on the setting, and what kind of character you have. PLEASE, no beast races (I love them but I'm not interested in furry) and please, no orcs (I hate them, simple as that). Also, no modded races. Let's stick to the actual available game races, hm?

Vampires/werewolves... I am generally okay with this I guess, but I find them to be a little restricting, so if you want this you'll have to come up with a really good idea. I have played my character as a werewolf more often, so it is doable. I'm just picky.
If your character happens to be an altmer/high elf and/or a mage I will love you forever. See below for reasons why.

Character description + pics are under the spoiler tags.

For the Morrowind setting.
Name: Dirandrys Shamirdamael, Di to friends.
Race: Dunmer
Age: 27
Gender: male
Appearance: His skin is ash-colored, not too dark and has a slightly blueish tint to it. His irises are a vibrant red, the sclera a very dark red, typical dunmer eyes. His hair, copper red, is kept in a long Mohawk, reaching the bottom of his ribs, and he has various long strings of brightly colored beads woven into it. Very often he’s also seen wearing decorative feathers behind one ear.

Clothing wise he usually wears loose-fitting and lightweight leathers, cloths and furs in natural earthly colors and tones.

Dirandrys is of an average height for a dunmer, and has a muscular build, though it's more athletic than bulky. Even so, they are a bit more defined in his chest, shoulders and arms because he vastly favors the bow as a weapon, though he doesn't shy away from up close combat if he has to, in which case he will use one or two daggers. He will never, ever use magic and he doesn't know a single spell.

Accessories vary, ranging from woven beaded armbands, decorative bracers and/or a necklace with claws or fangs. All in all he has a somewhat native look to him.

A few screenshots and art can be found here. (don't look at my awful retexturing skills).

Personality and background: Dirandrys was born within the Zainab tribe as the only child of a hunter, and he would often accompany him into the Grazelands to hunt and learn the basics of survival. He’s fairly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna found there.

Because he’s part of a tribe, Dirandrys has been raised with old-fashioned Dunmeri ideals and he's immensely proud of his heritage – traditional ancestor worship is a big part of his daily life. He doesn’t have a single good word to say about the Tribunal, and he will vehemently defend his own beliefs to anyone.

It is also because of his traditional upbringing in a close-knit community of only other dunmer, that he doesn't have much experience with any of the other races. The Zainab tribe is the biggest in Vvardenfell, and while discussions are underway with House Hlaalu concerning the ebony mines that are close by, Dirandrys cares little for this. Like most of his people, he’s wary of visitors.
He doesn’t hold the nords and imperials in very high regard either, and while the Zainab own no slaves, Dirandrys does consider the beast races to be beneath him.

Dirandrys speaks fluent Dunmeri, and while he's also fluent enough in the Common Tongue he does speak with an accent and tends to slip back into his native language when angered or excited.

He's a proud person, brash and stubborn, and will more often than not open his mouth and speak his mind before actually considering what consequences his words might have. Acting on impulses has gotten him into trouble before. He considers himself a free spirit and he can be a difficult person to be around with, but he values loyalty like nothing else; he will go through fire for you if you have his back.

If there is one thing he absolutely hates though, it is magic users. Two years ago while out on a hunting trip in the Grazelands, Dirandrys ran into a duo of altmer mages. Likely they had never run into a ‘savage’ before, but Dirandrys wanted little to do with their attention, nor did he want to entertain their curiosity. The argument that followed ended in a fight but he was no match for their combined magic, and he got hit by a powerful double dose of shock magic strong enough to knock him down, after which the two mages left him for dead when he stopped moving.

Fortunately for him his guar mount hadn't run off too far and he was able to drag himself back to the tribe, but the local healer could only do so much for him and was unable to prevent permanent damage. As a result from the attack Dirandrys has muscle and nerve damage in the left side of his body, mostly affecting his arm and leg, and the attack itself burned a permanent liechtenberg figure into his skin, following his spine and disappearing into the hem of his breeches, the other end curving over his left shoulder to stop just below his collar bone.

A year of rehabilitation, practice and training followed – that was an extremely rough time for him. Dirandrys hated, and still hates, being dependent on others and having to rely on them for even the basest of things. The first few weeks of recovery kept him completely bedridden, unable to even take a piss without help.

In the end though Dirandrys has recovered reasonably well, but he had to give up hunting as a profession, making him unable to follow into his father’s footsteps as one of the tribe’s main suppliers of meat and hides.
He is still capable of wielding a bow, just not with the ease of before. Straining himself, pushing his body or finding himself in a situation that causes a lot of stress can cause a relapse within him; this can include a loss of sensation and/or control in his left arm, leg or both, a sudden shortness of breath, pain in his heart, or a combination. When it does happen all he can do is wait for it to fade away, which can take from anywhere between a few minutes to a whole hour or even longer.

As long as he's careful this doesn't happen often and it rarely actually hurts badly, but it's definitely a source of frustration and shame for him, something he's still bitter about. It's a weakness that can be exploited, he fears.

Thanks to this, he’s developed a severe distrust for altmer and mages in general (especially a combination of both) but so far he’s managed to avoid running into more.

He now spends most his days watching the tribe’s herd of guar, leading them out into Grazelands every morning and bringing them back at sundown. It’s a boring job and he’s not particularly fond of it, but so far no other opportunities have arisen for him to take.

Personality and background: Dirandrys was born and raised in Raven Rock, Solstheim. His family has been living there for a few generations now, after they fled Morrowind to escape the eruption of Red Mountain 200 years ago. He's a single child and often used to go hunting with his father in the mountains and forests of the island, learning the basics of surviving in such a harsh landscape. He’s fairly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna found there.

Dirandrys has been raised with old-fashioned Dunmeri ideals; his ancestors were members of one of the old Ashlander tribes, and he's immensely proud of his heritage – traditional ancestor worship is a big part of his daily life.

It is also because of his traditional upbringing in a close-knit community of mostly other dunmer, that he doesn't have much experience with any of the other races aside from nords. On top of that he treats khajiit, argonians and orcs with disdain, believing them to be inferior, which ties back to his people's tradition of housing them as slaves before the eruption of Red Mountain, even though the ashlanders themselves never kept any.
He will converse with them, tolerate them and treat them with a certain level of respect if they deserve it (khajiiti merchants for example, or an argonian inn owner), but he doesn't believe he will ever see them as something equal, or be able to befriend them.

Dirandrys speaks fluent Dunmeri, and while he's also fluent enough in the Common Tongue he does speak with an accent and tends to slip back into his native language when angered or excited.

He recently ventured down to the mainland of Skyrim, not only because he in a desperate need for some new scenery, but also to get away from his overly concerned family. He hasn't been in Skyrim very long yet, and is content to travel slowly and see wherever that takes him. Occasionally he'll venture into towns and cities to sell the skins, bones and meat of the animals he hunts, and offer his help for small jobs here and there if he needs more money. Most of his time is spend on the road and camping in the wild though.

Lastly, if you need an example of my writing style, there's a link in my signature to the other RP I have on here, and you can find a large post of a different RP in my resume.
If you have any questions, please post here or just send me a message! :D

Someone else who plays switches! And one of my favorite games! I haven't played Morrowind in a very long time (it stopped working on my computer, boo...) but I wouldn't mind doing an RP based in that time frame. I have a Bosmer character that is a master with illusion spells, but tends to fling fireballs when angry. If you'd like to try this with me I will rewrite his character profile and send it to you.

@adabotcon Yes! I am very interested! He sounds fun. ^^

Boo indeed. To be honest, I haven't played Morrowind in ages myself, but it will always be my favorite. And I am extremely impatientexcited for Skywind!

I'll await your PM then, and hopefully we can come up with some good ideas. :D

@Endee Yes! I will send it to you as soon as I'm done with him (I had a profile for him, but it was written on paper and has since been lost) I should be getting him to you today.
