The Dragon Blades Chapter 1

Alice played along, acting playful as well.
" You mean a guy? Ick no! You don't think that me
having to deal wiht the two of you isn't enough already?"
She leaned out over the balcony, watching
the people of ll sorts squandering and bustling
about, lively and filled with excitement.
 
Angelique laughed softly. "watch the love bug is gonna come up and bite you when you aren't looking" she said with a bright smile. She glanced to the girl and back down to the lively people. "I mean....i probably wouldn't mind it if it happened to me...but I think guys are intimated because I've read like every book in the library.." She said softly. Saying that she was smarter then most teens her age.
 
Kyle looked back at the city once more before turning back to the girl. "Would you like me to take you back to the city?" He asked politely.
 
Alice laughed, thinking back on past events.
Knowing she had experienced it once before.
It didn't end well with her and she had vowed
to never fall in love again. But then there was
the problem of whether or not she could stop it.
Love seemed to be something that could never
be avoided. Though she was always prepared to
turn down any proposal.

Skyla turned into a majestic creature that was
now rarely seen. A unicorn, one with a shimmering
coat and a glowing mane. She was quite elegant,
turning in a circle and whinnying loudly.
She was so happy, her light pushing away the
shadows with relative ease.

" That would be lovely. I think Alice should see
what amazing work you have done and what
you have done for me. She would be very pleased
with you."
 
Angelique looked to her as she seemed to be in deep thought and smiled. She stretched up high and yawned. A bit sleepy from earlier. "There hasn't been any trouble has there?" She asked curiously. It was been a while since she had been out there. She remember the first time and she was just a quiet scared little girl. She grew since then. She slowly put her hood down and moved her long black hair to the side.
 
He was thinking on how this creature was probably the most amazing thing he had ever seen when she said how much Alice would be proud. "I'm not worried about Alice being proud of me. That's not what's important. What's important is that I keep any and all non-shadows safe and sound." He said, his eyes full of joy.
 
She turned to look at Angelique, amazed by
how much she had grown. Though she knew
it had been well over a dozen years since, it felt
like just yesterday the sun was shining and she
was training Angelique all she knew. It was a
joyous memory, but it too brought her pain and
longing.
" No, nothing serious happened. Lin has been
guarding the wall, there was a small assault,
and something seemed to have breached
our defenses. But I made short work of it."

Looking at her newest friend, she shook her head,
her mane flipping with the turning motion of her head.
It sent a glow around her, though it faded, her light
remained bright and vibrant. She was a rare thing to see,
but she was beautiful all the same, definitely a sight for sore eyes.
" Well then, in that case, I would very much appreciate you
taking me back to town, it isn't safe out here. "
 
Angelique looked a bit surprised. That hadn't happened for a while. "you think....something's going on put there? They have been more ...active then usual" she said softly. Maybe she could look at some books and find something but she doubt it. No one hardly went out there so...of course there would be any information on the creatures. She was always tempted to go out there. Wanting to know everything about the darkness that lurks. That was the bad thing about her. She was curious that's why they hardly had any missions for her out there. She slowly looked to Alice. She just wanted to find a way to stop all of this.
 
Kyle nodded. "I don't think I can fight another shadow dragon." He said jokingly. He began to walk back, following the path.
 
A worried look came to Alice's face,
as she had known for a very long time
that things wouldn't always be safe
inside of the walls she had worked so
hard to build, though they would one day
fall. She had hoped she would never have to
tell anyone these facts, but it seemed fate had
chosen a different path for her and her kin.
" Something is coming, and I dare not speak it's name.
It is very powerful, and has been waiting for the day to
come when it could tear down these walls. I cannot stop
it, and I cannot hold it back any longer. Every second it
grows stronger and drawls closer to us. And I fear we
will not live to see the end of this war Angelique. "

Skyla followed Kyle with a brightness that seemed to
shed light wherever she stepped, little with glowing
spots appearing and fading wherever she touched the
ground. It was like she was pure enough to banish a
shadow into infinite abyss. It was truly amazing.
" No, I think not, but if you ever have to again, just call for me
and I will be at your complete and utter disposal for whatever you may need."

Angelique's eyes widened and she slowly looked to the darkness narrowing her eyes. She bit her lower lip. This was bad wasn't it? She felt a nervous feeling in her stomach. "should we try putting a barrier of purification around the city? Just in case?" She would have to make charms though or they could do it the old way and all of the warriors pray around the city but it would be risky. Even though they would be close to the city they would still be in the darkness.
 
Alice looked down to Angelique, her face blank
and emotionless. All worry and fear having been
seemingly drained form her, leaving her hardened.
" No, we do not need to put up any more defenses.
It will only tear them down, leaving them in ruins.
We have to secure the city, make sure that nobody
leaves or enters without my consent. If he wants
a fight then a fight he shall have..."

The Dark one is a corrupt being with a massive amount of power and an immense
hate of the light and the dragon shifters. He was once one himself, therefore allowing
him to take on a similarly dragon-like form himself. Though he shows anger and impatience
towards everyone, he has a rather neutral disposition. But be wary when confronting him,
his temper isn't known to be very long.​

(( mmm... I see how this works now. I like your view on the dark one. Not exactly what I was thinking, but I like it. Your in! Post when you feel like you're ready.))
 
Kyle made it back with the beautious and rare creature. "Well... do you have a place to live in the city?" He asked out of nowhere.
 
Skyla seemed a little lost now, but she didn't show it.
" Ah, no. Not really. I am sort of a nomad within the city.
I don't have a permanent home. What? Did you have something
in mind for me?"
She stood outside the gates of the city, there being very little
activity atop the massive wall that surrounded the inner buildings
of the city.
 
"Ah. I did if you had nowhere to stay." He simply replied with.
 
" well, I don'y have anywhere to stay.
But wherever you want to go is fine by me.
I find your presence very comforting actually.
Even if you are a little nervous at times."

Standing next to you, a cheered glint in her
eyes. She gave a shrill whinny at the thought
of spending even more time with you.
 
"N- nervous? What ever do you mean?" He jokingly responded and chuckled. "I have a house in the center of town that I stay at. If you'd like, you can stay there." He said.
 
Her eyes narrowed slightly. She bit her lower lip as Alice spoke. Feeling a sudden nervousness in the pit of her stomach but quickly shook it off. She always thought there would be even a little light in that darkness but who she talked about seemed to be the real deal. "well then if this happens.. We should make a evacuation plan for the regular citizens. We could take them to the mountain but....we could loose man power that way.." She said softly. "ill try to think of something " she said with a soft smile. This was gonna be hard. She stretched up high. "til that happens lets be prepared and enjoy our days to the fullest" she said with a cheesy smile.
