The Division: Dark Winter

Alright, cool! The team is really shaping up!

So far, looking at our roles we've got:

Michael "Angel" Foulke (ShatteredSkies): Team Leader (I'm assuming)- giving the orders
Elizabeth "Liz" Stark (Killako): Medic- slinging the heals
Mike "Ghost" Summers (Cats): Sniper- serving the long-distance pain
Angela "Cross" Walker (Insomnant): Infiltrator- bringing the close-up mayhem

We could still use an anti-armor role (rockets specifically, though mines could also work) though Angel does have his C4. We also don't have anyone with any technical skills, à la hacking or turrets or drones. (Here's looking at you Nikki and Silverdawn! ^_~)

I mean, we really don't need an anti-armor specialist, because we won't be facing that much armor, and we do need to keep the city mostly intact. But we do need someone capable of running an ISR platform (Intelligence, surveillance, reconnisance. Aa drone) becuse that would really help, and another medium range character, maybe with high capacity weapon to provide covering fire.

If anybody has any mission ideas, feel free to PM me, I'm working on our Ops now.

Aww, but rockets make everything more enjoyable. :P It's like in X-com: EU/EW where you don't really fight any armored vehicles but sometimes you really need for a wall to not be in the way so your sniper can take the killing shot. :bsmile:

But yeah, good point. And I'd forgot about covering fire, LMG style. That'd also come in handy.

Yeah, walls are tricky. Thats why you always carry C4... Because sometimes you need to do a little tactical remodeling.

I'm not even thinking a straigh up LMG like the MK48 or M249, I'm thinking an assault rifle with drum or beta mags. But just an option.

Weaknesses: terrible hand to hand, melee combat and thinking on his feet.

Brief Biography (I don't know why I made it so long... Just read the last three paragraphs it's all that matters): Matthew was born into a highly military family, the last 4 generations the men had gone to join the military before and most had come back alive. Matthew grew up with an older brother and a older sister making him the youngest until he was 12 when his younger sister was born. It was around this point as well his father started training him to shoot a gun at a young age so he'd be ready when he grows up. The nest few years it was one thing after the next, learning how to shoot all kinds of guns until his father found how good of a shoot Matthew was when he got behind a scope.

At age 16 Matthew was given hand to hand combat training but he didn't have the mindset of fighting in close quarters but at least behind a scope he could think before he acted. Matthew's father wasn't impressed with his skills in close range, but let him off the hook after he dropped his martial arts classes. After all the training he had with his M4 Combine he was ready for any war but he still had boot camp to go through...

The weekend before Matthew was shipping out to boot camp his father took him out hunting along a trail that every generation had come to hunt for who knows how long. That day was the day Matthew had to prove himself to his father that he can survive in any war the world had to offer, they crept through the forest following tracks. After an hour of hunting down the elk they finally spotted it, Matthew's father told him to aim for the chest since you didn't want to ruin the head for mounting. Matthew fired and missed, it was his first time missing a target in years, his father just told him that they had to leave. He asked to try again but his father remained speech less for the rest of the day.

Matthew knew why his father was acting like this and knew his only chance was to bring back an elk and that's all he could do. Early the next morning Matthew wasn't seen leaving as he left at 6 before anyone he thought of waking up. His mother worried about him but his father knew what he was doing but it wasn't going to change his mind. They waited until three before they got ready to leave to check on why he was gone so long. They arrived at the park to find Matthew sitting on what looked to be a large mass of fur, he stood up and picked up one of the it's arm and began to drag it over. As he neared his family they saw it was bear, his father and his older sister jumped out of the car to help him drag it. At dinner that night he explained while looking for an elk the bear attacked him and Matthew shot it without hesitation killing the beast, he was then stranded because he lost his phone in the run in with the bear.

That week end Matthew shipped out with some others from his town he recognized from school, they all had joined the seals and were ready for the real training t begin. Nine grueling month of the hardest training of your life ever later Matthew had increased his strength but was still failing hand to hand and hand to weapon. Matthew only barely made it into the field based off his marksman ship and tactical thinking. Matthew spent 2 weeks in the field before he was pulled out for unknown reasons even after having the highest missions complete rate on the team. He was brought into a room on his own, after a few minutes of waited a man in a suit entered after him, he explained that they needed him for a protocol known as the division. Matthew accepted saying he'd do it and was sent home where he couldn't say anything about it and yet again lost his father's respect as he thought his son was a coward.

Matthew went to collage and had a normal life and he always kept up with his shooting never wanting to loose his focus behind a scope. He went into IT and spent the next few years of his life carefully never showing his full skill set unless he was privately using a shooting range. Matthew was offered money if he joined a shooting team but he declined not wanting to show off what he could do. He silently waited making some friends as the years went on until he was finally of use, the division protocol was activated while Matthew was at home hiding from the virus that had taken over the world and began to cause more crime, but him and the others were here to fix it.

Hey I'm sorry you guys, but after trying to come up with a character for a few hours, I haven't been able to create one I really like. So for the sake of both my muse and this RP not dying because of a half-assed character, I'm gonna have to withdraw. So sorry. :(

i understand, what im trying to say is that that role on the team is already filled:

I'm good, thank you though~ I'll be lurking in this for sure! :)

Would you be interested in occasionally coming back to play a group of civilians or enemies?

@Cats and @Silverdawn go ahead and post intros for your characters,, so we can all interact and get to know each other before the bullets start flying.

Also, if anybody has anybody who might be interested in this... Poke them. I want one more to fill out the team.

There will be a reward. That is a secret to hsppen in the IC.

It's nothing horrible, like being infected, and it's nothing great, like stumbling over a container labled "the cure"

Awww, I was really looking forward to playing with you. :<

@ShatteredSkies maybe! Give me a holler if you guys get there!

@Insomnant PM me if you wanna start something :) I thought I would be a lot more interested in a character like the one required in this RP, but my muse just isn't there, sadly. But I'd love to RP with any one of you somewhere else/in the future!

I want one more to fill out the team.

Quite frankly, five is actually a pretty solid number for an RP as well as a fireteam. Any more and things can really start dragging out in terms of post times and increased likelihood of people disappearing/losing interest/dropping out.

On an unrelated note, I'm on my phone right now so it might just be the mobile version of the site, but does Silverdawn not have a picture or description for his character?

@Silverdawn you need an appearance section for you character. Once that is done I can accept your character snd clear you to post.

@Insomnant I missed it too, because I run with pictures off to conserve data. I have always liked six for fireteams, so that if they divide everyone has a partner. But if theres nothing for a week, I'll cut it at five.
