Wolfsin Silvermoon
Level 1 Warlord
HP: 29/MP: 10

"Yeah yeah, though I think that is my line fool."

Wolfsin took two large strides ahead of Charm and shot for the fields away from the small little encampment. They had tasks now, for killing the oversized bunny creatures, and other crap too, but staying in sequence they would grind it out and knock down as many of these things as they could in the short time they had. Wolfsin's skills he'd picked intrigued him, but he wondered just how easy the first berzerker skill would be to pull off against speedy types.

"Hey Charm, invite Pvp I need to test something."

The young looking white haired girl tilted her head curiously but she would not be able to deny him, not when she knew he always had a strange method to his madness. The girl reluctantly clicked a few buttons with a soft huff and then a duel screen showed up for each of them. Wolfsin drew his greatsword and nodded to her.

"This will sound stupid, but just come up and smack me real fast."

It definitely sounded stupid but Charm seemed to see the mischievous grin of her best friend as a sign for comfort. She moved up then and Wolfsin counted down her steps, up until her first attack was made. Her hand crossed him as he pulled the sword up just a bit late to block the attack. he still had to get used to that sort of weight after all. Wolfsin commanded. "Again!" Charm was getting even more disturbed by the idea of this but she did as asked and came in with another attack.

This time Wolfsin watched closely and timed from her last hit just how long it would take from the first extention of her arm, to the time and point of connection. it was a quick analysis, and when her hand just about hit him again, this time he focussed pooled some mp into the Move and her hand collided against his sword. Wolfsin pushed up then and with a swift and sudden movement he flung Charm off of her feet. but canceled right before.

The two had gained a slight crowd from the other players in the beginner field, mostly curious about why the two were trying to fight like this so early on. Wolfsin had successfully learned the basic mechanics of his first skill, even if it had thrown some of his points out the window. Charm remained on the ground for a moment, partially stunned but then she got back up and huffed at him. Sticking her tongue out. She knew though. A skill like that with such situational value, practicing it before entering real battle was almost a definite must. Ignoring most of the crowd the two returned to town for just long enough to regain their stats up and start fresh. Then returned to the Harenn field.

"Sorry for all that, I guess it won't be good to use that skill right away, not until I get the hang of it. but its really useful in pvp if I can get it down so I had to take it. Besides you know Wolfsin in story is a legend for A finesse style martial form with a great sword."

Charm didn't seem to bothered by it now, instead she pretty quickly dismissed it and focused more on the field, and the har..

A grunt of satisfaction left Wolfsin's mouth as he instantly starting walking downhill towards this mob. He didn't have to look back. he knew that Charm would have his back from afar,a nd little creatures like this he didn't mind dealing with. Besides the way the field was filling with players he didn't expect they would be around long at all, so it was good to at least take this opportunity and try and get their first level our of the big ass bunnies.

He engaged with Charm behind him all the way and took his first Swing into one of the rabbits. A very quick kill with a Whopping 11 points of damage on a basic swing. The Numbers sat in the sky for a moment and Wolfsin could not be more content with it as he turned and chopped another one down. The rabbits had all turned to him now and were beginning to converge. One of the more fierce looking of the creatures had noticed Charm standing off to the side and singled her out.

"That isn't how this works ya furry fuck!"

Wolfsin activated the first of his Knightly abilities and let out a coaxing call that forced the Larger rabbit to come hopping after him. Two of them had already gotten close enough, and he'd missed the parry to deflect them back. Red 2's showed on the screen as Wolfsin took the hits. They had scored a little scratch on his HP. He was ready however when the larger rabbit pounced at him. A swift movement and his sword clashed against the bastards attack. Wolfsin pushed outward and flung the rabbit backwards leaving them bewildered on the ground. He thought to finish the creature but when a short beam of light finished the job... He couldn't help but laugh and refocus his attention back to the Rabbits that still remained.

They were getting surrounded pretty quick now but it was nothing if they could barely scratch him. All he had to do was start hacking them apart. A few others came in range, and the Mighty warrior cut them down just as easily. Hell Minimal Damage alone would kill the bastards with his mighty sword. he was starting to take quite a bit of damage however. That would prove to be a pain later, surely.

The game was already proving to be quite entertaining.

Reaver let out a deep mechanical laugh as he shot and killed two Harenn.

"Hahaha! Like shooting fish in a barrel!"

He dodged a swipe from one that got too close, shot it in the face and took off in the other direction. His turret opened fire on the back of the group and managed to kill two of the stragglers. The Harenn were down to half strength now, with the two Level 2's and three Level 1's left.

Letting off three more shots, Reaver managed to kill one of the Level 2's and one of the Level 1's, while dodging attacks from the other three.

"Come on, this is way too easy. Where's the challenge?"

As if in answer, the remaining Level 2 Harenn reared back and let out a call which was half scream, half bark. In moments, the area was filled with Harenn.

Momentarily stunned by their sudden appearance, he was caught off guard by the attack from behind. A red number 4 appeared in the air in front of him and a part of his health bar disappeared. The sound of his turret opening fire again brought him back to his senses, even as it killed the two wounded Level 1 Harenn. Starting his kite strategy again, he fired off another Trick Shot, bringing up another cloud of red 4's and killing the Level 2 Harenn that summoned it's allies, before making a break for the edge of the group surrounding him. He manage to dodge one of the swipes as he passed the Harenn, but two of the others hit him and he took 2 damage from each. Firing blindly behind him, he killed one Harenn but the rest his shots missed.

Looking over his should as he ran, counting the remaining Harenn, he let out a low mechanical hum of excitement.

Savage & Pulse
22/42 HP | 1/9 MP | 2/10 XP | 26/42 HP | 3/14 MP | 2/10 XP

According to Thunder's response, only half of the crew had made it through. They had been assaulted by a spider and had only barely made it out alive. "Hopefully we get some XP for that half-assed rescue." Pulse said Sav. "Maybe we shouldn't have let him go alone."

However, the problem in front of them was still there; the spider on the ceiling. Pulse poked Savage and reminded him of her earlier question; "This is earth to Savage, do we have a plan yet?"

Half of the already alive people gone wasn't good chances for Pulse and Sav. At least not by his rudimentary math. Someone was likely to die, he just hoped they didn't. The crunching and slurping of the great spider overhead encapsulated all of Sav's attention as he tried to move inch by inch so it wouldn't even feel his gargantuan feet lumbering around the floor. When Pulse poked him he nearly swung at her, but realized who she was quick enough not to try it.

"I told you we should have burned them. But no, I'm stupid and you're always right. So why don't we get whatever gear is in here and just make a run for it."

"And you'd set fire to the ship before we got anyone out?" Pulse rolled her eyes and took the lead. On the tip of her toes, she slowly snuck into the armoury, trying to make as little sound as possible. She checked around, but it was rather dark inside of the armoury so she could not make out the details.

"Check out those two crates there." She whispered in the party channel, pointing Sav in the direction of where Pulse thought either supplies or weapons were kept. She walked towards them, hoping the spider wouldn't notice them and took a look inside one.

"There's a bunch of guns and rifles in this one." She said, leaning into the box, remembering Thunder had the same class as her and had been equipped with a gun. "Maybe I can use them. You see anything?"

Following her lead Sav made his way over to the chest and slowly placed his fingers under the lip and opened it to see what was inside. A motley mixture of what seemed to be grenades and a few other cumbersome looking materials that were probably worth their weight in dirt. The grenades, a mixture of flash bangs and typical grenades, were worth far more though. Grabbing some of the explosives Sav held them up to Pulse grinning like a school boy.

"Oh, this game knows me so well."

"Good, now let's get out of here." Pulse replied, putting all the items in her inventory. If they were lucky they'd be able to get out with the loot safely. At least… If they were lucky, which Pulse and Sav would quickly find out they weren't. Before they reached the exit, the spider turned around. Without hesitating, the monster jumped from ceiling and the threat popped up on their UI;

Level 5 Aenara♂★★★☆☆

Pulse instantly equipped the rifle and shot at the monster, but just like her knuckle weapons, the rifle had zero stats. "Throw one of those grenades!" Pulse shouted, probably far more excited about meeting the second spider than Savage was…

Already sifting through the inventory to grab one of the ten grenades he'd looted Sav found his luck with a flashbang. Equipping it he felt the cool metal against his hand. Not knowing how they worked in reality he did his best movie grenade throw aiming just in front of the spider to hopefully blind it. Then it was either run or kill it with more grenades, though he wasn't too certain on the second.

Opening a trade with Pulse Sav worked quick as he could sending her over two flashbangs and three explosive grenades, cutting his supplies in half. "In case someone dies." He offered as a reason and waited for her to take her gifts and join him in hopefully blowing apart the damned thing.

Pulse quickly accepted the trade, "Good thinking." She admitted disgruntledly, as she ordered the grenades in her inventory. She checked their description and read part out loud, "Deals 5 fire damage... Hihi, the missing piece to your plan." Pulse giggled. It looked like they had just bought their ticket out of the spaceship. "Now come with me before that thing jumps on us." Pulse said, grabbing Sav's wrist and pulling him to the exit. "Don't waste them now, we don't have to fight this right away."

Pulse mind had began working. These grenades could potentially destroy the webs; or blow holes in the spaceship's walls. If they cut the pipelines like Savage suggested, they could even use them to set the entire ship on fire… After they left of course…

Sav was quick to follow her words, but her drugging him along like some lost puppy only really slowed him. Nonetheless if they could survive this whole damn ordeal then why not listen to her for now? Running blindly knowing, rather praying, that the Aenara had been slowed by the flashbang Sav wasn't sure where they were going to end up. The only known escape route was the ladder he'd elected to jump down. Pulse was slow then, likely a side effect of the webs, and even if their foe was slowed the chances of them both escaping through that small area was about as good as they stood against the spider now.

"We need an escape Pulse."
"No shit."

Escaping was easier said than done, especially since Pulse had no idea where they actually were going. The stairs were still covered in webs, but she tried to use her sense of direction to get to the outer hull of the ship. Pulse heard the spider screech in the background; it was most definitely following them…

Rushing through the metalworks, they eventually made it to what looked like an airlock shut tight. However, it was still functional. "The code," Pulse said, more to herself than to Savage, as she looked up the key the captain had given Sav and her. She dialed in the numbers as quickly as she could, and after confirming, the gates opened… Accompanied by the sound of a man behind them panicking!

"Looks like we got another one."

"Aren't we lucky. Get in."

There wasn't time to think about this and that, the spider was coming for them and Sav wasn't going to stick around to see how much the flashbang had bothered it. The bubbling man before him was pushed backwards against the wall of the airlock, and waiting for Pulse to let herself in Sav took out another grenade, an explosive one now, and waited for the doors to start closing, or for Pulse to close them. Blowing up the ship was a distinct possibility now, but Sav was confident he could have done it from the outside just as easily. All he was after now was a blast door or a heat shield, both of which the airlock was obliged to provide.

One more streak of codewords from the other side of the airlock made the gate close; pressing the doors together right after Savage lobbed a grenade out of it. Pulse could hear the explosion, and the what she thought sounded like a spider's deathcry. However, as no rewards popped up on her UI…

"That didn't kill it." Pulse said, "And now we're locked in. Where do we go from-"

Pulse couldn't finish her sentence as something heavy threw itself against the doors. The spider on the other sound was pounding on the airlock with it's legs, and it echoed through the tiny space Pulse, Savage and the NPC were now in.

"-Here?" Pulse finished her sentence, raising her voice again so she could be heard despite the surprisingly noisy spider.

The spider smashed itself against the door again making Sav shout. "That's a door isn't it?" Motioning away from the spider there was a similar thick door. "We go there."

"One problem." Pulse rolled her eyes towards the NPC, "If that was possible, would this guy be here?"

"Because there are spiders outside there too," The NPC interrupted, sounding more annoyed than afraid. "I can't go anywhere, I don- No wait!"

Pulse had already found the control panel and scrolled through her codes, "Airlock, airlock… There." She punched in the password and the other doors slowly parted; letting in a breeze of fresh air. "This time it's my turn," Pulse said, equipping a flashbang in her hand and pushing the NPC into Sav's arms with the other. "Let's get this piece of XP back to the base."

Clutching the NPC around the waist like he had Pulse when the Nexit had attacked them Sav readied another flashbang himself, though would wait on her before throwing it. That was assuming there wasn't an infestation of spiders waiting for them on the other end of the door. A few would be manageable with the flash bangs, and for the time being Sav had all but given up on setting the whole ship afire meaning it was a straight dash back to the landing site for him.

Level 5 Aenara♂★★★☆☆
Level 5 Aenara♂★★★☆☆

Luck would have it that it there were only two spiders. The NPC still squawked at their presence as the eight legged pests turned their attention to the opening doors. "So we run?"

Pulse's reply to that was to throw her flashbang straight into the maws of one of the spiders. The panicking arachnid began to shoot webs in random directions, remind Pulse of the sticky threads on the stairs. Fortunately for her they'd worn off, but she had to warn Sav "Those web shots will probably slow us down!"

And that was something they couldn't use right now, as the other second spider was already in full pursuit. Hopefully they weren't faster… Or wouldn't follow them all the way back to the landing site…

Taking the opportunity to run Sav lept from the door and headed towards where the game told him the landing site was. The second spider wasn't dazed by the flashbang, but it hadn't come upon them yet, so he was holding onto his own. He knew Pulse had another, but at this rate there would be another ten of the things over the next hill or bend that they took. The NPC slowed Sav down slightly, but nothing that he felt limited him like Pulse's Godhands did whenever she summoned them.

Already tired of carrying the shaking man Sav threw him to the ground and grabbed onto an arm and dragged him. The mans feet struggled to find footing at first but Sav was relentless and soon he was keeping up, albeit being jerked every other step, and wasn't such a bother in that way.

"It's like walking a dog that doesn't want to walk." Sav complained.

The spiders didn't manage to keep up as the distance between them and Savage and Pulse grew. Eventually, they managed to shake them off. When Pulse looked around and realised the spiders had given up, she stopped running. "We lost them." Pulse grinned, glad they had finally made it. "It looks like it is time to claim our XP now."

Sav almost collapsed from relief. "About goddamn time. Fuck I hate spiders."

"No worries," Charm murmured softly as she grasped Wolfsin's hand and was pulled to her feet. "I understood what you were doing after that first block attempt - nice job, by the way. I really felt that second one. The combat system seems pretty lifelike, so I can't wait to test it on some enemies." It really felt just like being thrown off her feet and stunned, unable to control her limbs or do much more than stare blankly at the hulk of a man after his block. And the sensation was able to loosen up some of mechanical detachment she'd felt at first with her avatar. Angel had a feeling that the more physical activity she performed in this game, the closer she would become to really feeling all of the simulated sensations and becoming Charm. Which brought up a previous curiosity as she and Wolfsin walked back to the Landing Site to restore themselves.

"One sec," she tugged at his arm until Wolfsin stopped, a mysterious little grin on her face. "Draw your blade for me."

He did so, holding the mammoth of a weapon between their virtual bodies, and with little hesitation Charm drew her palm across the edge of the blade swiftly. Boy, did she regret making such a carelessly large slice rather than just pricking her fingertip. "FUCK!" The girl complained as she drew her hand back. But her curiosity overpowered the sudden sensation of pain, and so Charm turned her palm over and brought it closer to her face to assess the damage. "No blood, huh. It felt like a real cut, though." Charm prodded the area around the wound she'd given herself, noticing how all that remained was a weird, pixelated glowing red line that eventually faded to pale skin. "Well at least I don't have to worry about blood ruining my beautiful outfits~ Hehe."

The pair made quick work of returning to camp and restoring their stats, during which time Wolfsin shared the quests he'd already gathered. As each new task registered in her quest log, small screens popped up with pictures of the NPC's they belonged to, announcing that each of them had been added to her contact list. On their way back to the field Charm browsed quickly through their list of active quests, settling on what seemed to be the simplest task. "Kill 20 Harenn, Return Samuel's Shiny Things..." What was a Harenn?

She wasn't left to wonder for very long. As they scaled the last hill a wave of red dots popped up on her mini-map, signalling that a group of enemies were in close range. And sure enough as she looked over the hill side, the mob came into sight.

Charm was taken aback by the sight. Peering between squinted eyes, mouth wide in an "o" of surprise, the girl let out a gasp of mild horror. "Are... are those... RABBITS?!"

Wolfsin had already started down the hill toward them, and though any other time she would have followed without thought and launched into battle with him, these were freaking RABBITS. HOW COULD SHE KILL A RABBIT, LET ALONE 20 OF THEM?

"Hnnn, Jack! Don't kill them!" She called lamely, bouncing on the balls of her feet as he jumped into the battle. All Angel could picture as he readied his sword was her cute little bunny, Ciel, munching on some grass and carrots like the most peaceful creature on the planet. Rabbits were her favorite animal... they were harmless, precious little things... How could she fight against them...?

But this was a game - the rabbit creatures weren't real and would likely respawn a few minutes from now. More importantly, there were a lot of them. 15 in total, it looked like... and they were more or less swarming around Wolfsin now, threatening him with viscous-looking claws that would deplete his health quickly if he wasn't careful. If she didn't help him. Charm groaned childishly as she sprinted down the hill and took a battle-ready stance behind her partner. He SO owed her for this.

Wolfsin cut down two of the lvl 1 Harenn easily with nothing more than his huge greatsword. Two red 11's burst into the sky above the creatures as they screeched and collapsed, massacred by the Warlord, and the others began to coagulate around the two of them. Charm drew the staff from her back as one of the larger rabbits made to jump at her, but before she could do much Wolfsin let out a coaxing call that stole the aggro away from her and back to him. She appreciated the sentiment but worried over it as his parry missed and red 2's appeared over Wolfsin's head. Her role in this fight was to stay in the back and support Wolfsin, but to do that she needed to make sure he could focus on the monsters rather than taking aggro off of her. So as he dealt with the larger rabbit, Charm tapped into her first Warlock skill and summoned forth her undead creature... which just so happened to look like a zombiefied, skeletal version of the Harenn they were fighting! She grinned with fresh satisfaction as her pet rushed the group of large rabbits that had begun to collect around Wolfsin.

Meanwhile, he'd knocked the lvl 2 Harenn back, opening up a window of opportunity for Charm to zap the creature with a basic magic attack using her staff. An 8 appeared above the creature's head as it died, and he threw her a funny grin before turning his attention back to the group before them. Charm's undead pet has stolen the aggro of three lvl 1 Harenn and was scratching them up with his claws, dealing 4 damage each. She finished them off with her basic magic staff attacks, and Charm's little undead Harenn hopped back to her side, taking a moment to recover. Wolfsin cut down four more lvl 1 Harenn easily while she doted on her mildly creepy but still adorable pet. They'd taken out quite a few of the mob already, and things were just getting started...

Just as they were about to jump back into the battle, a distant cry drew Charm's attention to the east of their location. She wasn't the only one to hear it, either - the remaining Harenn in front of them seemed to react upon instinct, fleeing the area and darting over the field, up another hill. Charm was stunned for a moment, confusion rising and then dissipating to make room for a sudden feeling of urgency. That had been a call for help, she realized, as even her undead Harenn seemed to be a little riled up by the noise though he still remained at her side. "Fuck." She muttered, turning her eyes to Wolfsin who had a similar expression of understanding in his deep golden eyes. He'd probably deduced the same assumption by now - talk wasn't necessary, the pair knew what they needed to do.

Nodding curtly, Charm took off only a step behind Wolfsin as they chased after their prey. The Harenn were extremely quick and had a good jump on them, so by the time the pair arrived at the scene and took in what exactly was happening, a chorus of dying screeches filled the air around them with red numbers. Another player was in the field being chased by 9 Harren, five of which surely had been attacking Charm and Wolfsin a minute earlier. If the Harenn had a distress call ability that called other rabbits to the area, then she had no doubt more might be coming soon. And so the decision remained... Should they party up with this guy and work together until the imminent threat subsided? In the very beginning, Jack and Angel had decided to play this game for one reason - to be the dominating team they were in every other hot game. To be the best. And that didn't really leave room for partying up with other people. But... it was just the beginning of the game, after all, and although she knew Charm and Wolfsin could handle themselves just fine against these oversized rabbits... well, it seemed slightly more advantageous to party up with other people that made up for their current weaknesses, right? And judging by the shots this guy fired off, it looked like he had decent range and attack capabilities - the one solid thing they were missing most.

Angel glanced to her partner, searching for the eyes behind his virtual mask, and met Jack's stare evenly. What did he think about partnering up with the guy? They needed to figure it out quickly so they could deal with the Harenn or leave the guy be to handle it himself. In the meantime, though, her class specialty seemed to kick in and restored 5% of Wolfsin's health, bumping him up to 20. Charm used her cleric healing spell afterward to restore an extra 25% of his health, leaving him with 27HP, and her with 5MP.

"Fuck, Alright I guess it makes sense. Do it!"
Wolfsin watched as Charm sent off the request and they waited for the gun guy to accept the rest. They weren't about to jump in and start slaughtering the guys farm if he didn't want the help. That wasn't exactly their style.

Reaver has Joined the Party

The new appearance in their party only confirmed Wolfsin's next action for him. He glanced at the little party pop up for a second acknowledging the new name. Just In time for one of the Level 2 harenn they had been facing to follow suit and call for another 10 of the little bastards, a few level 2's in the mix.

Wolfsin smirked as he readied his weapon and took point at the group of harenn. Charm had healed him some, sot hat helped greatly and he was thankful for the team build they had went with. it made him curious about a duo mage build honestly. This guy Reaver had control of his situation. Between firing off a rifle, and setting up auto turret bad asses, he was pretty well standing by himself. It made Wolf a little jealous honestly but he let the thought vanish. They had to focus now.. the total of the Harenn present between the multiple cries... was actually a little freaky. Wolf hated bunnies as it was, so being stared down with their beady creepy eyes only meant one thing to him.

"BUNNY SLAUGHTERFEST!!!!"

Harenn♂ - Level 1 - ★☆☆☆☆
Harenn♀ - Level 1 - ★☆☆☆☆

There were now thirty of them. It was beautiful...

Wolfsin Launched right into battle then and took the first one out with a quick single strike. It didn't matter vs the level 1 harenn, all he had to do was hit them to kill them. A mad laughter erupted as he took another one on and noticed the gun man doing his own thing off to the side. At this point all that he could do was count his own kills.

Wolfsin was a martial tornado on the scene, dancing between each harenn and landing another blow. He was searching out the level 2's now to make sure they ended them before killing the rest. Several of the Harenn had caught on to the massive mans tactic however and had been drawn by his roaring laughter. Seven of them launched at him Simultaneously and Wolfsin in the heat of battle. (Jack having the time of his fucking life) become an unstoppable force.

The first harenn met his blade and was bounced off stunned as The Reaver picked the level 2 bastard off with two basic. Wolfsin was on point with each block, the mastery of skills from other vrmmos showing through now as he learned to register and deliver the weight of his weapon in a very fine dexterous form. Another level one met the same fate, and charm cleaned him out as he was stunned. Wolfsin blocked the next Level 2 harenn to come in range and again shot the bastard away. It was only in time for another level 1 to launch at him and this time, when Wolfsin blocked, he did so well enough to block the brunt of damage, but failed in knocking back the creature. He countered after that and ended the creature.

Wolfsin looked up to his sub screen, and noticed quickly that he was out of mp now. he groaned as he cut down another harenn and finally started taking quite a bit of damage from the crowd. Reaver relieved that however with a few quick shots that forced the harenn to redirect their attention. Wolfsin had recieved 7 dmg from it all, but according to the smile of a true gamer that remained on his face. he was far from done in all of this!

"Fuck all of you little rabbits, I have dreamed for a day where I could slaughter you all."

The bystanders looked on to him as if he were mad, but he ignored it and once again with a simple attack he took out another harenn distracted by the creature that Charm had summoned while she killed the remaining two. He had effectively taken out two of the level 2 creatures this way, but there were still plenty remaining. Wolfsin scanned them out and headed that way but it appeared as though Reaver had a hold on a few of them. Charm was fighting back, and biding for time. Time when it would make sense for her to summon her heals again and save them. Hell Wolfsin still had 20 HP that was more than enough to slaughter a good 10 more of these fucking things. The quest blinked overhead for being completed pretty quickly but that didn't matter, not in the jovial activity of Bunny slaughter.

This game was amazing.

The area was flooded with Harenn now, having been called in a chain reaction of panicked cries and gunfire. He was pulling all the aggro in the area. Which wasn't really a good thing in hindsight, because he could only take a few more hits before he was out of the fight. Sprinting around the side of the hill, a mob of Harenn chasing after him, Reaver quickly formulated a plan to take the heat off himself. Circling back around the hill towards his turret, he kept the group a fair distance behind him with blind fire that did little more than wound one or two of them. Dodging to the side as his turret opened fire again, he spun on the spot, dropped another Auto Turret and let loose another Trick Shot, before circling clockwise away from his turrets. Now all he had to do was hold the aggro, his turrets could thin the ranks of the Harenn while he kited them around.

It was then that he saw two players come over the hill, no doubt following the numerous Harenn that had flocked here. One was a large man with a ridiculously over-sized sword, the other was a girl that seemed to be made out of Pink. He was distracted from his assessment of their possible usefulness by a window popping up on his UI.

| Charm Lunaria has invited you to a group |
| Accept? |

Quickly accepting the invite and seeing two names appear in the corner of his UI, Reaver turned and circled back towards his turrets. They opened fire to either side of him as the Harenn came into range, each turret claiming two kills and himself claiming the lives of three, before the large man charged into the fray and started hacking away at the monsters. A Harenn died with every swing of his sword and it wasn't long before this 'Wolfsin Silvermoon' had pulled all the aggro in the area.

Firing off a few more shots, he picked off two more Harenn, but was distracted by a fizzling, sparking noise to his left. As he looked, one of his turrets sparked violently and then disintegrated into pixels.

"Hmm, I guess they have a limited duration after all."

Turning back to the fight at hand and opening the party chat, he spoke to his new group members.

"Your timing is impeccable. It seems I have managed to pull all of the Harenn in this area. Do you think that was scripted or is the AI really that good?"

"You actually managed to pull the mob we were fighting across the field," Charm giggled lightly into the party chat as she moved seamlessly around the group of Harenns crowding her partner. It looked like Wolfsin was out of MP, as he could no longer use his backlash skill and was beginning to take quite a bit of damage. Charm was running dangerously low on MP herself - she'd only have room for one more heal, and the timing would need to be strategically placed if they planned on surviving the absolute fucking slaughter-fest that had befallen their little grinding party.

After taking out the three Harenn her undead bunny had focused, Charm slipped around the other side of the mob to pull a little attention away from her partner, drawing the attention of two lvl 1 Harenn and deflecting their attacks with her staff as best she could while zapping them. He couldn't keep taking hits like this, not with the amount of monsters left to kill. Reaver was doing his best to kite the group and had picked off another 7 with a combination of turrets and basic shots, more or less obliterating the group to smythorines while the aggro was taken off of him and focused on Wolfsin. They had a strong team-build, and Charm was glad she'd invited the TechPriest to their party now that they were farming up a storm.

Eleven Harenn remained, 3 of which were lvl 2. They needed to eliminate those ones first, she noted, while she finished off the two lvl 1's she'd been dealing with. Unfortunately Charm wasn't the best with short-ranged combat, and consequently had taken damage from both of the oversized bunnies before putting them to rest. Her HP dropped down to 19, a fact she wasn't too entirely concerned about considering the crowd was beginning to really thin. After a short while her summoned creature had rested enough to take the aggro of three more Harenn and claw them up - all of the remaining lvl 2 creatures. From a distance, as her pet wrestled with the three enemies, Charm zapped with her basic magic staff attacks. One died quickly - the first her pet had focused - though the other two had done a great job of scratching her baby up while he was dealing with the first one. His health dropped down to 4HP in time for the second lvl 2 Harenn to die, and Charm managed to dispatch the third before her creature could be destroyed.

Charm hadn't anticipated the lvl 1 Harenn that came in to attack them. And in her pet's weakened state, he couldn't put up a proper fight against the rabbit. Charm watched in mild horror as a pair of claws raked down her pet's throat and sent his body shattering in a mess of pixels. "
NO!" She shouted, bringing her staff down hard across the Harenn's head ferociously. Her physical attacks only inflicted 5dmg, but she didn't care. Angry by the fate her pet suffered, she smacked the stupid creature again and again, beating it from existence. Only when its dying screams sliced through the air did her arms go limp at her sides, and Charm turned her tired gaze back to what remained of the mob.

A whopping 2 Harenns, running toward Wolfsin, who apparently had just finished slashing through one of their allies. Reaver's turret must have taken the other two out, Charm assumed, as she watched the last two charge Wolfsin from either side. Groaning softly, Charm lifted her staff like a cross bow and aimed it at one of the Harenn. She shot a bolt of energy from the tip of her staff like a bullet, and next thing she knew the Harenn was thrown off balance and knocked on its side, struggling to stand. Her partner cut the creature down swiftly with an undeniable finesse that screamed WOLFSIN SILVERMOON, and with one final cry of victory, he drove his blade through the last Harenn's skull, slicing it down the center like a stick of butter.

Finally, it was over. And their quest had completed itself long before now. With a deep sigh of relief, Charm collapsed in the grass and spread out on her back, looking up to the sunny sky with a huge grin on her childlike face. "That was freaking intense."

Wolfsin Silvermoon
Warlord Level 1-2
17/29HP|0/10MP|.2/10 EXP

The final of the harenn mafia cleared out and the xp from the battle flooded in. Wolfsin placed his mighty sword on his back and approached the others. "Woo, one hell of a fight, that was. A little on the bullying side of things but hey they had numbers hahaha" He placed his long hand upon Charms shoulder and pulled her against his side. "Nice work hon. That was some great support from you." He cast her a genuine smile and then left her side to meet with their other battle-buddy.

This was the first time Wolfsin had gotten the chance to really look at the unique looking cyborg of a man. Hell he looked pretty neat honestly, very cyber punk and his skills matched the character too. "I like your style bud." he started to say offering his hand to Reaver. A warriors embrace of course. "You really got some neat and useful skills. With your one shot it like halved their hp so that made it where even Charm could one shot them, weak as she is." He chuckled then peered back at charm who was fast appraching. he stuck his tongue out at her. She responded by stomping on his foot. "Ya know what though? Those little buggers actually hurt. it almost felt like getting bitten by a kitten or something haha. Anyways I bet its about that time."

Wolfsin pulled up his menu and first moved to the "Samuels Shiny's" Quest. he tapped the complete button and sighed. "God I wish i didn't have to work, Im so close to lev...

Level Up!
Wolfsin is now Level 2

Achievement!
(Get your feet wet | Get into your first fight | 5 XP)

The chorus of that sound littered the battleground as the others recieved the same message. Wolfsin let out a battle cry in response. "Rgggawwwww! That is what I am talking about!" It was exciting to have a chance to up some skills and get ready for the next battle. New stages of enemies would prove for better challenges, and he loved the idea of that. At this point, it would not take long for their team to become known players among this world. Just like the others, but baby steps first.

Wolfsin pulled another tab of his menu up and clicked Reaver's name sending the man a friend request. If nothing else he was definitely useful. Wolfsin also liked his spirit. Alas, it was d day however. "Welp I guess when i get home at stupid at night, I will be back on. Hopefully you don't overlap us too much bud, great fighting with you." He raised his fist to Reaver. Then patted Charm's head. "text me Angel." He said almost with utmost melodrama. Then scanned his menu for the log out button.

"huh?"

There was no log out, or exit or anything like that. All of the other buttons were present but the Log out did not exist. it was strange to say the least. this was a pretty freaky bug after all, especially when you were a person that watched anime like .//hack and SAO. On the other hand though.. it kind of made him happy. Charm seemed to have noticed too and looked at him with almost a mirrored expression.

"Well this is just hot.. Work is just going to LOVE the excuse that I was stuck in a VRMMO. Oh hey Sally, I can't come into work today because I am stuck inside a video game." He couldn't help but laugh at how silly that sounded. "Well anyways, I guess fuck it then! Lets go kill more things. I suppose its probably best that we try and get this quest returned and heal up first. Reaver!" Wolfsin called out to their new friend. "You heading back into town? I figure Charm and I need a little healing so it makes sense for us to go together if we can."

Reaver relaxed as the final Harenn was killed by Wolfsin. He just nodded his head in reply and lost himself in thought.

That was an intense fight, and this is only the beginning!

His internal musing was interrupted by several windows popping up on his UI.

| Level Up! |
| Reaver is now Level 2 |

Quickly putting all of his points into INT and closing the window, he moved onto the next one.

| Achievement Get! |

Closing that window as well, he came to the final one.

| Battle Report |
| Harenn Killed: 40 |
| XP Gained: 4 |
| Loot: 102x Raw Harenn Meat, 78x Harenn Fur, 14x Lucky Harenn Foot |

Turning back to the other members of the group, he saw that they had just finished closing pop-ups too. He was slightly surprised by the large mans loud roar, but was even more surprised when Wolfsin couldn't Log Out. Quickly opening his menu and flicking through the tabs, he found that he couldn't see a Log Out option anywhere either.

Well, it is a Beta. They should have this fixed soon enough.

"Reaver!" Wolfsin called. "You heading back into town? I figure Charm and I need a little healing so it makes sense for us to go together if we can."

Reaver thought a moment before replying, as the quest objective had changed from 'Kill 20 Harenn' to 'Contact Samuel.'

Opening up his contact menu, he replied as he called Samuel.

"Sure thing. Just let me turn in this quest first."

There was a digital ringtone and then Samuel started talking as if he was standing there with them.

"Hello? Who is this?"

"Ah, it's Reaver. You sent me out here to kill Harenn and look for your Shiny Things."

"Ah! Yes, I remember now." he replied distractedly. "I've found them already, they were in the box I hadn't checked yet. But here, take this for your trouble. Goodbye." A click, sounding the call had been closed.

Reaver just stood, confused by the odd conversation, until another window appeared on his UI

Desperado / Engineer | Level 1
HP: 24/24 | MP: 13/13 | XP: 4/10

Taking his first steps outside of the camp - more accurately, it was more of strides - Leviathan took a hard look around the area. The hilled pasture around yielded many smaller creatures scattered about, along with arguably less players trying to slay them all. The first few levels of an MMO could really be such a grind sometimes, and that was no doubt exactly what these folks all had in mind. For a fleeting moment, Leviathan wondered if perhaps he should join in the slaughter-fest in these fields.

Nah.

With a sharp turn, Leviathan aimed his pace towards a small forest off to what would be south of the Landing Site, according to the game's compass. He wanted something a bit more daring than the clusters of 'Harenn' everyone was whaling on. If he had a good hunch, then the Forest would be exactly what he was looking for, unless the difficulty curve was far more steep than he thought.

Hopefully not.

Before he could get too far, a stray Harenn bolted out through the tall grass, right ahead. Before Leviathan could draw his revolver, a sudden shrill burst of sound blasted through the air, creating a shockwave where it seemed to strike the lagomorph. It was literally stopped dead.

Leviathan drew his handgun, Brotherguard, proper, holding it on standby as he crept forward to investigate. His curiosity all dipped back into caution as a fox-like creature bounded out of the grass, followed in succession by two more...

Nexit♂ - Level 2 - ★★☆☆☆
Nexit♀ - Level 1 - ★★☆☆☆
Nexit♂ - Level 1 - ★★☆☆☆

Before they had any chance to dig into their new meal, the Nexits pointed their ears and adopted aggressive stances, clearly having noticed the gunslinger. Leviathan prompted raised his revolver - these foxes looked like they meant business, as opposed to that Harenn they somehow downed.

As Leviathan went for the first attack, the leading Nexit lunged forward. Both attacks met their mark, as the bullet struck fast through the sturdy pelt and the outstretched claws raked into Leviathan's torso. Staggering back, he cursed from both the sudden incredible pain and the 4 that popped up from his attacks. Looks like the gunslinger's bullets lacked much stopping power, while the Nexits were perfectly content to slash though his armor.

Damn... Maybe I'm in a bit over my head here...

Leviathan subconsciously activated his Gunblitz ability, taking aim and planting a trio of optical crosshairs on the Nexit that just attacked him. Another Nexit dashed up from behind their leader, mimicking that same lunge. Steeling his nerves, the Desperado performed a diving roll off to the side to avoid the attack, before raising Brotherguard again.

Activating the ability again, he let loose with a 3-round flurry of shots that burrowed into the targeted lupine, earning a trio of 2's for the effort. Leviathan couldn't help but smile a curt, triumphant smile.

It was cut short by his discovery that that lead Nexit was still standing, and halted entirely by a sonic boom that blindsided him with magical force. Shaking off the impact, Leviathan waved away the distortion in his senses to shoot a glance at the third Nexit, which seemed to be recovering from a recent recoil.

So Nexits can fire shockwaves. Fantastic. This could end badly if I'm not careful.

Leviathan attacked Nexit♂ Level 2 using Brotherguard for -4 HP.
Nexit♂ Level 2 attacked Leviathan using Claws for -6 HP.
Nexit♂ Level 1 attacked Leviathan and missed.
[-3 MP]
Leviathan used Gunblitz on Nexit♂ Level 2 for -6 HP total.
Nexit♀ Level 1 attacked Leviathan using Shockwave for -2 HP.

Barong
26/32 HP | 7/16 MP | 4/10 XP

As Calice sounded the retreat, Barong put his gun back in it's holster. He was a little disappointed his fun had to end so soon, but this soon vanished as he saw the battle report pop up along with a level up message. "Won't you look at that." Barong grinned, although he was still too far away to see it. Barong defected from his chase to head back to the rest of his party at the starting point.

"I'm doing great." Barong cheerfully replied to Blaze in the party chat, "You guys have got to see this dashing skill." Mere seconds later, they would get the chance, as Barong raced back into the party's view. "Look at this!" Barong shouted when he came close, running around the others in a circle to show off his skill before he finally pulled the breaks and stopped running. With a grin from ear to ear, Barong said "Pretty sweet, isn't it?" With a child-like enthusiasm, almost forgetting the part they were trapped in the game.

When Calice, Blaze, Litari and Barong returned to the Landing Site with the group of NPC's in tow, they would notice their starting area had changed. Surely, it was still mostly composed out of tents and spaceships, but there were at least two wooden cabins in the midst of them now, as well as players around them in the process of building more. From what had been an area full of newbies, now had become a construction site... And a market place as well! "Buying harch log! Five credits each!" They would hear a nearby player shout, as one of the many at the edge of town trying to get materials from players entering the Landing Site.

"Won't you look at that." Barong spoke curiously, "It looks like there's a lot more to this game than just hunting rabbits and ostriches."

The Landing Site had livened up quite a bit. Next to the bigger and louder stand-outs, as the party passed through the tents they would find players busy smithing, sewing, and much more. At least Barong assumed they were players, finding it hard to believe the game had named a particular blacksmithing NPC Carebare97. There even was a player with a Harenn on a leash! Business was just starting up and many players were in the process of explaining the system to others and redirecting them to what they called master-npc's.

"This is as far as you'll need to take us," The NPC's tagging along with the party spoke up, "Thank you for the help so far. We were planning to sell this, but because you saved our friend's life, we want you to have this."

A screen popped up in front of Barong;

--Quest Complete--

Rewards:

3 XP
5 Harch Log

"Looks like we just popped our quest-cherries. Not bad" Barong said, knowing that had earned him 25 credit at the very least. "Anyone want to go check out these master NPC's?"

After smirking he sees the Mage-type player fire a AoE spell, weakening some of the opponents. Ignoring the ones already set upon him, Arashi runs towards a couple of Level 2 ones and strikes each with a Sneak Attack but he goes in without thinking and quickly receives three blows, two being from the ones he struck . Arashi feels pain from receiving almost half his HP worth of damage to him. "Ugh! Damn.. Didn't think it would hurt like this." Gripping his dagger in hand he turns around to face the ones on him. Knowing that he is going to die if they all hit again, Arashi begins to think while backing up and holding his ground, not wanting to rush in again and receive even more damage.

" Umm.. a little help here?" Arashi yells towards the other people. He notices on his UI, the names and classes of the two. Trying not to be too distracted, he moves his attention to the three Goat-men in front of him, preparing for the worst to happen.

God damn it Leeroy!

Azymus saw Arashi run in, trying to take out two of the tougher Forunn. When his plan backfired and he called for help, Azymus charged in. Targeting the two Forunn that were on 5 HP, he swung wide at the first and killed it with a single punch, then turned and finished off the other. Seeing that Arashi was still beset by another Forunn, he activated his Mach Punch and slammed it away, dealing 16 damage and killing it.

"We'll call that even, now let's help Linnea!" he called to Arashi.

Not waiting for an answer, he turned on the spot and ran back to help his other savior. She had taken some damage while he was busy, but he was determined to help her out after she had restored his MP. Activating his Mach Punch again, he accelerated into his strike, covering the remaining distance to Linnea's attackers and taking one of them out of the fight for good with a big floating 14. Forcing the other Forunn back and taking all the aggro with a few well aimed punches, he assessed the threat level.

Charm Lunaria
LvL (2) Shadow Priest
19/23 HP | 5/15 MP | 8/10 EXP

Charm laid in the grass for a short while, just catching her breath and soaking of the glory of their feats. She'd been swarmed with several pop-up screens all at once after the battle ended, each one stretching her smile a little bit bigger.

| Battle Report! |
| Harenn Killed: 40 |
| XP Gained: 4 |
| Loot: 112x Raw Harenn Meat, 74x Harenn Fur, 9x Lucky Harenn Foot |

Swipe. She discarded the screen with a small laugh. "I wonder how many credits I'll get for that?"

| Level Up! |
| Charm Lunaria is now Level 2 |

More points to spend on her traits! She would do that after they got into town and figured out the complexity of armors.

| Achievement! |
| Get your feet wet | Get into your first fight | 5 XP |

Wow. Half a level? Charm shook her head, grinning from ear to ear now. "And there's still the matter of the quest..." The girl murmured as she flicked her achievement screen away and started for her Quest Log. But before she could bring up the new screen, Wolfsin was pulling the girl to her feet and gathering her up against his side. "Oh, I try my best. Thanks for keeping the aggro off me, you did great~" Smiling brightly, she stood on her tip-toes to peck his cheek, and as he stepped forward to address their new ally Charm finished up her quest and gained another 3xp. "No Shiny Things for us," she was mildly disappointed to report.

Charm didn't miss her partner's teasing comment and made it a point to stomp his foot real good as she skipped up to the pair of them. "Despite my colleague's obvious lack of understanding when it comes to the strength of my SUPAH ZAPPY POWAH! Cough Cough," she elbowed Wolfsin in the ribs, though really only made her chicken-bone thin arm sore in doing so. "You were great. That trickshot rocked, and your little turrets...! Ahnn~" An overwhelming sense of adoration spread over her face as she reconsidered the turret he'd been able to summon. It was like a mini pet robot that killed absolutely EVERYTHING, and she loved it. Charm could only imagine what cool toys he'd come to acquire as the strange cyborg of a man leveled up - and she didn't want to miss finding out!

"Let's party again sometime, yeah?" The girl grinned as she sent off her friend request to Reaver. If only Jack hadn't been scheduled to work. Alas, though - real life couldn't be as perfect as the gaming world. "Hai, hai." Charm mused at the mention of texting him, and called up her own menu screen as Wolfsin searched his. She expected the log-out button to be at the bottom of the menu screen, as per usual for most other games... But she was wrong. There was no log-out option in the main menu screen. And upon further inspection, she couldn't find any termination options in the sub-screens, either. That was troublesome..

"Uhmm..." She mused to herself, concern clouding her face. "Well that isn't good. Is it a bug?" Charm wondered aloud, and turned her worried glance back to Wolfsin, who naturally just made light of the situation and found a way to laugh about his misfortune. Too bad she was the overtly serious one when it came to things like this. "Will it be alright, if you're late or miss work? Won't that put you at risk for a coaching?"

"Nah, I think I can still miss another day or two before I'm in any real shit. Screw it! I give no fucks. You guys ready?"

"Sure thing. Just let me turn in this quest first." Reaver spoke, calling up his Quest Log screen to take care of that. Charm bounced of the balls of her feet nervously while they waited.

"Hnnn, I'm not so sure about this, but I guess we don't have much of a choice..." If they couldn't log out, then really all they could do was keep playing until a live maintenance occurred to fix the bug or something. It was best not to worry about uncontrollable things, she told herself, though the concern she held for her best friend was mildly difficult to just deny. Charm pressed her lips into a tight line and started off after the pair when Reaver finally finished up his stuff. She wouldn't worry about it. What's done was done - all they could do was make the best of things and enjoy themselves in this crazy amazing game, while they had time for it.

The camp wasn't an entirely far walk from where they'd wound up in the field, and as they traveled Charm called up her Trait screen to muse over how she would distribute the points she'd gained. While fighting, she'd been concerned with how little MP she had to play with. Both of her skills costed 5MP, a considerable amount more than many of the skills other people seemed to have. And if she was going to be an adequate healer and support character, she would need a great deal more of MP than she currently had, anyway. "Is it worth it to put points into upping my health at this level...?" She questioned herself out loud, thinking through the strategical setup she and Wolfsin created as a pair in this game. Charm wouldn't be doing much hand-to-hand combat. In mob battles, she had Wolfsin and her summoned creature to take aggro, meaning that, for the most part, she could avoid close-range physical damage. Long range magical damage was an entirely different situation - she could boost her resistance to magic attacks without having to put extra points into strength and vitality, and doing so would also up her MP...

"Yeah, I suppose that makes sense," She concluded with a quiet laugh... though Charm hadn't explained her reasoning out loud, and so her two companions would really have no idea what she was talking about. Well... Reaver wouldn't, anyway. But she bet her partner was already considering his own traits and understood exactly what she was thinking. Charm suspected he would decide to build strength before anything else - he would need it, and the bonus HP that came along with it, to tank properly and keep the aggro off of her and Reaver. Assuming the TechPriest stuck around long enough for them to team up again. As they scaled the last hill and Charm's eyes lay upon the starting camp once more, she looked to him; the new friend they'd made, who donned some weird but pretty cool clothing and disguised his face under the recesses of a large hood. Although at first glance he seemed like an intimidating specimen, Charm had the feeling that a genuinely nice player hid behind this avatar. One that was willing to lend and receive a hand in the face of overwhelming numbers, rather than boasting his pride and refusing such simple things. She liked that about him. And if his capabilities in battle spoke anything about his usefulness to their party, Charm suspected she and Wolfsin might keep the TechPriest around a bit longer, despite their desire to be the best two-player team in the game.

Leviathan
Desperado / Engineer | Level 1
HP: 16/24 | MP: 10/13 | XP: 6/10
[/hr]

This just wasn't his day, was it?

Leviathan fell back a bit from the Nexit group, hoping to put a bit of cautionary distance between himself and his formidable enemies. He had to admit, this was actually a very challenging first battle for him; hunting the puny Harenns didn't seem like such a silly idea now.

Firing off two more shots as fast as he could afford, Leviathan managed to hit one of the flanking Nexit as the gunslinger was struck by another shockwave. Son of a gun, those blasts are tough to dodge-! Seeing the leader dash forward again, likely for another pounce, Leviathan mirrored his earlier manuever; activating Gunblitz, then a dive-roll away followed by unleashing the attack. The trick worked once more, but only barely.

Leviathan swore he could hear the claws scraping at his duster as he dove out of the way of the lunge, and though the triple-shot landed once more, it seemed like the Nexit had braced itself in anticipation of the attack. He had a pit feeling that this dodge-counterattack trick was going to stop working pretty soon...

Another Nexit pounce met its target, a set of claws digging painfully into Leviathan's shoulder blades. Reaching behind him to cuff the beast's collar fur, the gunslinger shrugged forward to the throw off the fox in a quick action. The Nexit took no damage from being thrown to the ground, but it gave enough time for Levi to pump an errant shot into the creature, taking off a good chunk of health with a rising 5. A side glance at his own health revealed that Leviathan was in the yellow, with less than half of his health remaining. Now that wasn't good-
New development options are available at -The Landing Site- !
Leviathan shoved the pop-up menu out of the way just in time to perform a clumsy backward roll away from another attacking Nexit. The pain was excruciating, very realistic despite the lack of visible wounds, and the only thing that was suppressing that was the very real feeling of adrenaline pumping through him right now. This was getting out of hand, real fast, and he badly needed help if he was going to walk out of this fight with anything else beyond shame.

Breaking into a run and skirting around the edge of the Nexit group, Leviathan took a few potshots at his foes while making a desperate attempt to fiddle with the party menus for something to display urgency. After dodging another sonic boom, he decisively settled on an option labeled 'Distress'; the resulting action was a global command that announced to everyone within a certain range that Leviathan was in need of help.

Hopefully someone would have the courtesy to answer, as well as the powers to easily dispatch these Nexits.

It was the strangest little thing, a global message popped up claiming another player was in trouble, one by the name of...Leviathan was it? Archie shrugged, normally he wouldn't care but it was better to go to someone's aid then to just leave them hanging; and Archie had wandered over towards the woods, it occurred to him that he'd seen someone fighting earlier...He heads back that way and spots them a fair distance away, slowly with narrowed eyes he works his way closer and examined the fox like monsters.

Nexit♂ - Level 1 - ★★☆☆☆

Well that looked fun. Without a word Archie sends a party invite to Leviathan while in the same motion he pulls an arrow from a quiver upon his back and knocks the arrow back letting it fly at one of the level 1 Nexit foxes. Five damage would be taken from the Nexit but it would look around confused; because it couldn't find Archie; who sat on the branch of a tree and was letting loose his arrows from there. If Leviathan accepted the party invite he would hear Archie counting as he fired. "One...two...three..." Three arrows were let off at the still confused level 1 Nexit, but two is all it took for the creature to die so the third arrow buried itself into the Level 2 Nexit's side dealing 4 damage to the creature.

Ooh, she'd leveled up again from that quest, that made her happy; and this time she distributed her points a bit more evenly, causing her HP and MP to increase a little bit. Litari does a spin as she notices the quest log say she had gotten 5 Harch Wood, there was also an update it seemed. Litari pulls up her help menu to see if she can find information on any of it. She quickly finds the information on 'Professions' and laughs before calling to her party. "Hej guys! Seems they added professions to the game at some point!" She scanned over the professions to see if one struck her fancy; one did, the Clothwork Profession...that sounded like she could make armors and things with it. Litari's eyes light up before she heads over to the player who'd hollered about Harch Wood and buying it for a few credits; she wouldn't have any use for it...

Litari wanders away from the group and talks to this other player for awhile before handing over the 5 Harch Wood she'd just gotten and getting 25 credits in return. Litari would be able to get the hang of this easily; so she hoped anyway. She wondered how she went about choosing her profession though...so she returns to the party and smiles at them. "We should go and talk to someone to find out more about how to choose a profession and what have you, don't you think? Unless it's not something everyone is interested in. If that's the case I am totally interested and will want to stay in the Landing Zone; at least for a little while to find out more.." Litari patiently waits for everyone's answer; depending on how they answered though they would lose or keep Litari as a party member.

Linnea
Level 1 Weaver/Sage
15/17 HP - 7/18 MP - 7/10 EXP

Forunn tumbled to the ground and vanished left and right around the other two, but Linnea was too preoccupied for attacks. She skipped a few hasty steps backwards as she tried to keep herself from being surrounded by those that remained focused on her. I've only got two casts left, so I've gotta make this count! Just as one of the stronger creatures swung at her toward her from close range, Azymus arrived. "Whew, great timing!" Her grin was equal parts appreciation and relief; it was all the opening she needed. By the time the cyborg questioned her about her spell, she had already maneuvered to take a clear shot at the party's remaining opponents.

"Yup! I'm on it," the girl called back, her tome bobbing beside her as if eager to be of use again. Another shimmering burst of magic rushed at the Forunn only seconds after her reply. One hit, one flash, and a Forunn disappeared with a shriek of anger, followed by a second flutter of pixels as another fell. The stronger two were able to withstand the attack - and unlike her previous attacks, they also stood their ground. That's strange. I aimed it at the level 2s; did they count as the 'first hit' enemies in the spell even if they didn't survive it? Guess there's one way to find out! Then she glanced at her MP and grimaced. "Um...I'm running low on MP, guys, can you help with the last few?" She shot apologetic looks at both Azymus and Arashi.

Even as she spoke, a Forunn had its mana siphoned away to the caster, restoring some of what she had spent so far...just not enough to make much of a dent in her almost-vacant MP bar. "I really need to find out who sells recovery items." As if that casual comment were the last straw, a level 2 Forunn - barely standing after being reduced to low health and mana in a matter of moments - attempted to lunge around Azymus and charge at the girl, head lowered to ram whatever got in the way.

Linnea casts Aether Wave for 4 MP.
Level 2 Forunn takes 7 damage and is defeated!
Level 2 Forunn takes 6 damage and is defeated!
Level 3 Forunn takes 4 damage.

Level 2 Forunn loses 7 MP. Linnea recovers 7 MP.

Rissa
18/18 HP | 19/19 MP | 1/10 XP

The Depth Online. Either there was a secret at the planet's core or the title was referring to the effect it would have on players. When Rissa first opened her eyes in the new world, she could certainly see herself falling ever further into this game. First a breath, dusty but delightsome; then a hop, acclimating herself to the motion; and then Rissa took off running as fast as she could. Not to anywhere; she just started racing through the Landing Site, jumping, shouting and raising a general ruckus as she went. She cartwheeled, she somersaulted, she flipped and rolled, she leapt on and over crates, and as a finale she made a double backhand spring with a twist. Rissa wasn't even disappointed when she missed the landing and fell to the ground in a heap. She simply picked herself up, dusted herself off, and set to work.

Her top priority was learning the Landing Site inside out. This NPC gave this quest, that one sold these items; opening this crate granted five credits, touching that barrel would anger its owner; and most importantly, there were rumors circulating among the players already. The topic most talked about was the lack of a logout feature--not a surprise, considering how many lives were being interrupted by the apparent glitch. That information by itself wasn't interesting to Rissa. What she wanted were the rumors--the reasons people were inventing for why there was no logout. "It's a bug that they're working to fix," was common. "Logout points" were being suggested, but Rissa already knew there was no such thing at the Landing Site. "Twenty-four hour requirement" came up every so often, meaning the beta-testers were expected to stay that long as a minimum (standard procedure for analyzing virtual environments, or some such nonsense). And of course: "We're trapped in here forever!!!!" followed by hysterical sobbing or maniacal laughter.

Rissa cataloged all of these ideas, even the doomsday prophecies. There were any number of fictitious works about being trapped in a video game. It hadn't happened yet, but every new vrmmo brought its own wave of hopefuls. The day it actually happened would be the day Clarissa grew a chest, she had decided. Rissa didn't particularly care what the reason was--she was committed for the next twelve hours regardless--she just wanted to have the information to sell. Amazingly enough, people paid well for crazy rumors; she already had ideas for selling a "logout point" to desperate players.

She'd spent her entire time learning everything, so she would be behind on levels. Not that Rissa cared; while there were 200 people trying to be the strongest warrior, there was only one working her way to becoming the smartest trader. Her only regret was that finding the smaller details had consumed too much time, and now the craftsmen were setting up their market without her. Rissa rushed to the Smithing master--a large man by the name of Schultz--to retrieve her Bronze Smith Hammer.

To her utter dismay, the tool was only good for twenty swings. Rissa needed to make an iron hammer in those twenty swings or she was sunk. But a Smith Hammer would require two iron from a miner and a leather strip from a forester. Both of them would want a better tool, too, which she could make so long as they had the resources, but... She couldn't work alone, especially not this early. What she needed was a group just coming back from the fields: profession-less, drop-filled, and in need of some information. With that in mind, she skirted near the edges of town with ears perked.

"...find out more about how to choose a profession and what have you, don't you think?"

Bingo. It was times like this when Rissa liked her wolf ears; the way the turned toward the speaker was poetic.

"Excuse me!" Rissa called as she ran to the group. She was already counting up her potential gains from these four. "Name's Rissa, and I have all the information you're lookin' for. Profession Masters, crafting stations--I'll even show you a free five cred apiece. You won't find anyone who can offer you better, no Ma'am."

Soon after the drop screen popped up, Barong dashed back into view, going at some weird fast-speed that Blaze didn't think was possible in real life. She couldn't help but laugh a little bit. "Nice trick, Barong." She said. It was pretty impressive. She wondered if she would get any skills of that type at any point. She hoped so.

They dropped off the NPC, and were given a reward: XP and weird logs of a kind. She didn't have much time to investigate the logs, though, her attention captured by the new level she gained, and with it, the five points she got to spend. Idly, she wondered what would happen if she didn't spend the points- would they vanish, or just sit there and accumulate? Regardless, it was pointless to just save them up. It didn't seem like the mobs here leveled to players, so she figured it would be best to just level up and up until she could level no more. It suited her fancy. She split the points up between her health and mana for now, adding a few points to her vitality and wisdom to boost her stats, and then closed the window.

The Landing Site around them seemed to be bursting with activity. Several 'houses' of a sort were in the works of being built, in addition to the new mass of players conversing and working together to progress in the game. Simply listening in to some of the public conversations, she heard about credits, perhaps a currency, master-NPCs, and professions, which piqued her interest. Any game with professions was, in Blazentra's mind, fifty percent better, at least.

At Litari's first mention of the professions, Blaze spoke up: "I'm definitely interested. Sounds like a good way to make money. Maybe some XP, too, if we're lucky." She said, pausing to add, "Although I probably won't spend too much ti-"

"Excuse me!" Just then, somebody came running into the conversation- some woman she, unsurprisingly, hadn't seen before. She eagerly began speaking, and Blaze cut off her words to let her do so. Anybody this excited to talk must have something interesting to say. "Name's Rissa, and I have all the information you're lookin' for. Profession Masters, crafting stations--I'll even show you a free five cred apiece. You won't find anyone who can offer you better, no Ma'am."

Blaze found herself frowning slightly. Had they really missed that much while they were wandering around in the forest? For Blaze, that wouldn't do at all. She was slacking in this game, seriously slacking. She stepped forward a bit, bringing herself into the conversation between the two girls. "Would it be alright if I tagged along?"

Ruins Archer has sent you a party invitation. Accept | Decline
Hm. That was actually rather quick, it seemed to Leviathan. Before he could even act upon it, though, an arrow suddenly jutted out of one of the Nexit with a sharp *fwit*, making the fox recoil in confusion. Even Levi himself was surprised by that; the invite's name made him think it might've been an NPC, but a distinct lack of actual ruins nearby and the tactfulness of the attack made for a reconsideration.

Leviathan quickly hit Accept on the message, hoping to confirm all his suspicions at some point when was more safe. Without skipping another beat, he let loose another shot on the other unoccupied Nexit, seeing as how the arrows were disorienting that first one.

5's were popping up more rapidly in the trio of foxes now, downing their health considerably. Already the arrowed Nexit was dispatched, and after another arrow had sifted into the Level 2 Nexit, Leviathan finished off the heavily wounded creature with another swift gunshot. With only one enemy remaining, Leviathan was far more confident, and that last Nexit was careful to stand its ground. Another sonic boom shot through the air, but the gunslinger managed to go wide and avoid the attack.

The combined efforts of Archer and Leviathan had the final Nexit shot down a quick couple of shots later. With the battle over, Leviathan spared a breath and looked over their quarry:

Leviathan let out a hefty chuckle, somewhere in amusement between winning the battle, seeing such a simple achievement in a game, and over his own dumb luck. Though the experience he had netted from this had definitely made him stronger as a character, Leviathan was pretty sure he wasn't going to attempt another similar battle like that anytime soon. Not until he got his condition back up to speed.

Looking out for the origin of the arrows (and the voice in party chat), the gunslinger spied the convenient glowing outline of Archer, perched in one of the trees on the forest's edge. "Phew... good call," Leviathan said over chat, hailing Ruins Archer. "Guess that'll teach me not to leave common sense back at the starting zone!" He burst into a short, light laughter again, trying to lighten the mood in spite of his fatigue.

"Heh... but no, really, thanks for the help. I really did need that," Leviathan nodded in thanks as he sheathed his gun, pulling up a menu to distribute the new stats he had gotten from leveling up. "If you don't mind, I ought to head back to the camp and heal up. But, uh..." Recalling one of the moments from the battle, he pulled up that other notification from earlier, which led to a vague announcement about character occupations. "Looks like they have some new stuff to mess around with at the Landing Site anyways."
