You see, things weren't always as good as they are now. In fact, a long time ago, the world was at the brink of destruction. It wasn't something from space, nor from another dimension that was about to destroy the earth. It was no mythical creature, no deity and no invisible hand that was threatening the earth. No, the danger to our planets existence was people. Back in 2014, the world had it's highest crime spike in recorded history. Governments were corrupt all the way to the core, the police and the military were owned by criminals and poverty, unemployment, homelessness and global warming was slowly but surely driving people to the brink. The brink of despair.

Darkness consumed the world. It consumed the heart of people. Very few still believed in the world, most had become gray blobs of cynicism, completely apatethic, who's only desire were the most primitive, to stimulate them for now, to eat and to mate, people had grown weary of paying attention to the world.

But then, in the darkness of the world, there were light. A small group of young people, all from very different places. Some from the same country, others from completely different galaxies. But they joined together, because they were true believers, who, despite not having found themselves, still found a purpose in the world.

Today, we know them as the League Of Titans, they are the protectors of the world, the leaders of the modern world, peacekeepers and defenders of justice. They are the greatest heroes in all of cosmos, but even heroes must start somewhere, and the Titans, well, they started in the Abyss, the most crime polluted city in the entire world.

So, this is an AU take on the DC universe. That means there is no superman, there is no Bruce Wayne, and there's no Queen Of England. (Well, there might be a queen of England..) The DC universe in all of it's beauty is at our fingertips. All of it is laid before you, ready for us, the writers, to use however we would see fit.

Now, as much as I would like to set you crazy kids into the RP with whatever characters you could cook up in your pretty little heads, I have to be responsible, and provide you with some guidelines on how we will have the most enjoyable time in this RP.

1st: All Iwaku rules applies.
2nd: Don't be a dick.
3rd: During your stay here, I am essentially your God, what I say goes. I'm a pretty reasonable God guy, though. So don't turn away from having an argument with me, as I'm more than willing to hear anyone out.

And then that's over, let's go over what kind of characters I want to see.


I want characters to be street-leveled. That means that your character can, and will, get their ass kicked by your run off the mill thugs, if they get outgunned and / or outmanned. Your characters should have a lot left to learn, and just starting to tap their true potential. This does, of course, lead to certain problem with a few of the species and powers in the DC universe, but if you can figure out a way to make a Kryptonian street leveled, you are more than welcome to put one together.

    By calling on the alien device on his back, Shinji turns into Super Ranger. A super powered being that possesses superhuman strength upwards of 10 tons, and enhanced human agility, stamina, and endurance. The device also understands all native tongues, Earthly or otherwise, and can translate instantly.​
    | LIMITATIONS: |
    The biggest is that the alien device isn't fully operational and missing parts. It can sense where the parts are in a general area but cannot quite pinpoint it until it gets close. When the device is complete, Super Ranger will not only become stronger and faster, but it will also gain the ability to fly through rocket propulsion in the boots, fire lasers out of his palms, and its most powerful move, able to grow 100s of feet tall. Also while Shinji has trained in judo he still isn't quite that great of a fighter yet.​

    Shinji is kind hearted but kind of an idiot, plus because of how much energy the device needs to run gives him an appetite of inhuman proportions. Plus while the device can speak with him telepathically Shinji can only talk aloud to it, which while he tries to keep as incognito as possible makes him look crazy sometimes.​
    | APPLICATIONS: |
    Generally Super Ranger only attacks defensively and instead uses the power and speed to gain an advantage in one on one situations. If ganged up on he'll try to use his speed to gain ground or use objects to create space. Otherwise the speed and strength allow him to move quickly, leaping across and even over buildings to get somewhere.​

    The NENAV, which translated from its alien name stands for Anti Evil Interceptor. Is easily the most powerful device created in the universe. Countless aliens have used it to defend their home planets from evil and save their people. Of course such a power was quick to gain enemies. One such powerful foe was able to get their hands on it. When the device refuse to cooperate, it was broken and launched out into the abyss of space. Eventually making its way to Earth, in particular Japan.
    Shinji Okazaki was always considered an underachiever, he got by on his grades and seemingly had no direction in a world that demanded and expected it from him. As good a person as he was, it drove him crazy that nothing he could find was something that he was either good at, or wanted to pursue. However one night traveling out to a small town to meet relatives for vacation. Shinji discovered a small asteroid that crash landed fairly recently. When he investigated Shinji found the NENAV which attached itself into his back. After getting over the pain Shinji panicked and yelled for help until a calming voice entered his head. Eventually Shinji understood NENAV and began to use it in rare situations during his High School days. Now graduated, Shinji and NENAV started to figure out where the remaining pieces of it are. Figuring out that one piece is in Gotham. Scraping together money Shinji has traveled out, in search of the remaining pieces of NENAV and to become Super Ranger as he is meant to be. A true savior of Earth.​

  • Wears glasses typically and can speak English and Japanese because of his schooling. His favorite food are donuts, pizza, korean BBQ, ice cream, burgers, sushi, calamari, steaks, milkshakes, smoothies, chocolate cake, vanilla ca... you know what he likes food in general.
    When it comes to the suit Shinji transforms into, it is a red, silver, and blue costume like Ultra Man. With a long thin black scarf that clings to and flutters out.​

Well just about anyone is the kid of someone :P

But Hillan specified in the OP that there's no Bruce Wayne, no Clark Kent etc so the characters we know and love from the canon don't exist in this reality.
 
I was thinking along Beastboy and Raven, Garfield Mark Logan and Raven Ariella Roth.

    KRYPTONIAN-ATLANTEAN HYBRID PHYSIOLOGY:
    Unlike most Tritonians, Kalli does not possess 'Mer' type appearance. This is due to her Kryptonian father and as such she looks rather humanoid. The most notable physical traits relating to her Atlantean heritage are the subtle gills that sit just below her collarbone and the faint scale like pattern which covers her skin often given her a slight bluish-purple metallic gleam in the sunlight. Further more like most Kryptonians, Kalli's cells function like a super battery, hyper metabolizing specific wavelengths of radiation as fuel to enable living functions and/or superhuman abilities. Different wavelengths of radiation have different effects on Kalli's physiology and well being, but her cells cannot absorb or utilize all types of radiation. Every time Kalli uses any of her superhuman abilities, her body expends absorbed sunlight and she is capable utilizing any of them to various degrees through controlled circumstances. That all said, due to years of living deep underwater with very little to no solar exposure, Kalli's abilities have barely began to develop. Her cells also absorb solar radiation much slower than other Kryptonians due to her hybrid physiology thus limiting her significantly. While most of her natural Atlantean abilities are in effect, many of her more physical abilities have been stunted due to the lack of solar radiation affecting her Kryptonian half.

    AMPHIBIOUS NATURE: Kalli has the ability to breathe underwater. Like most Atlanteans from Tritonitis, Kalli has gills, which enables her to extract oxygen from water, while simultaneously eschewing carbon dioxide. She can be immersed indefinitely without suffering any ill effects but being an Atlantean hybrid due to her Kryptonian father, Kalli can survive on land longer than an average Atlantean. This length can be extended by the humidity in the atmosphere but eventually prolonged dehydration will weaken her thus she must return to aquatic environment in order to submerge herself on at least a daily basis.

    SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH: Kalli possesses superhuman strength due to conditioning from living deep underwater, however her strength is only currently twice that of a regular human. Her strength will continue to grow as Kalli begins to absorb more solar radiation and will eventually be more than a match for most barriers such as wood, metals, brick or concrete walls. At her top strength, only extremely durable metal reinforced barriers, have any chance of slowing her for any length of time. While she'll never be able to fly like other Kryptonians, Kalli will be proven capable of performing standing high jumps of four stories (both on land and from water), lifting and throwing at least 25 tons. Aside from solar radiation, Kalli's strength is also dependent on how hydrated she is at that time. Contact with both water and sunlight will increase her strength to its absolute maximum.

    SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY: Kalli's enhanced physiology enables her to withstand impacts that would kill an ordinary human. She has grown up in ocean depths as deep as 20,000 feet (3.79 miles) below the surface of the water. However she could possibly even travel as deep as 36,000 feet (6.82 miles) considering that her abilities are still growing. Kalli is not completely durable against fire arms, but is able to take a direct hit by small arms fire without incapacitation though bruising will occur and repetitive blows will cause bleeding. Severe damage could be caused if Kalli didn't retreat to the water for healing. As Kalli absorbs sunlight, she'll eventually start to produce a bio-electric "aura" to further boost her durability. This supercharged bio-electric "aura" acts as an invisible "force field" radiating within a few millimeters from his skin and will allow Kalli to stand up against much more powerful blows.

    SUPERHUMAN SPEED: Kalli's regular speed is approximately twenty five miles per hour swimming underwater, although significantly less on the surface. Kalli's speed will continue to increase as her body absorbs solar radiation possibly making her capable of moving, reacting, running and flying at superhuman speeds. She'll be able to use this power to disarm opponents, and cross vast distances in seconds.

    SUPER BREATH: Kalli can create strong blasts of air by fully inflating her lungs and expelling the air towards a target. As her cells begin to absorb more solar radiation, these blasts could increase to hurricane force winds, and also to chill her breath in order to freeze a target. Kalli can also breathe in large amounts of air to dispel clouds of gas by exhaling it.

    SUPERVISION:
    LOW LIGHT VISION: Kalli has the ability to see in the murky depths of the ocean allows her exceptional night vision while on land. She has claimed that her eyes are adapted to see at 6,000 fathoms (or 36,000 feet below the surface of the water)

    TELESCOPIC VISION: Kalli has the ability to focus her vision to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics.

    ~YET TO BE DEVELOPED~​

    MICROSCOPIC VISION: The ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the sub atomic level.

    X-RAY VISION: The ability to see through anything except lead. Since it is passive, this ability would not generate harmful radiation in the same manner as a focused projection of hard X-rays.    ​

    SUPERHUMAN HEARING: Kalli has incredible hearing at extreme variances of sound and pitch frequency, allowing her to pick up noises from nautical miles away. She has shown difficulty with control and is unable to block out all ambient sounds to focus on a specific source/frequency at this time.

    TELEPATHY: Kalli has limited telepathy allowing her to hear the minds of others if she concentrates immensely. This can additionally function as a sonar sense allowing Kalli to further enhance her vision in darkness. This ability can also be used to communicate with teammates without the use of communications devices.

    HEALING FACTOR: Kalli has the ability with the use of water. While solar energy helps slow the bleeding, only water will accelerate her healing. As such if Kalli becomes injured she immediately seeks out water even if this means abandoning the battle if necessary to survive.

    | LIMITATIONS: |
    PROXIMITY TO WATER: Kalli's power levels are significantly dependent on two major factors. The first of which is her current level of hydration and her proximity to water. As a part Atlanatean, Kalli draws strength from the water and requires a total submersion at least once a day. If Kalli doesn't submerge herself in water at least once every twenty four hours, her strength drops by eighty percent. This can be slightly offset by solar radiation but it's only likely to be a short term effect as further exposure to heat is only likely to further dehydrate her. Should Kalli use her abilities while in contact with the water they'll be boosted by a factor of two, though this could potentially increase as her Kryptonian half further develops. It should be noted that Kalli's healing abilities only work when in contact with water.

    SOLAR RADIATION EXPOSURE: The second major factor which determines Kalli's power levels is her current and/or recent exposure to solar radiation. As a half Kryptonian, her cells operate like those of a solar battery absorbing and storing the energy in the solar radiation and feeding it into her body. However due to years of living far under the surface in Atlantis, Kalli's body has been deprived of solar radiation thus stunting her development. Furthermore, Kalli's solar absorbtion is significantly slower than that of a pure Kryptonian and as such she can't heal with the sunlight and it only will slow and at best stop her bleeding. This slower absorption has also stinted her powers especially since even her Atlantean half is reliant upon the solar absorption due to the nature of her body.​

    | WEAKNESSES: |
    MAGIC: Due to being part Kryptonian, Kalli's body is extremely sensitive and vulnerable to magic, with magic even being able to render her abilities null and void. Due to this, Kalli avoids Atlantean Sorcery especially due to a near death experience with it during her youth. Magic has twice the potency when used against Kalli than when used against even a Kryptonian as her Atlantean genetics act as a conduit for it, amplifying the effects within her body.

    HEAT: As a part Atlanatean, Kalli's body is always at risk of dehydration especially when exposured to significant amounts of heat. As a general rule, Kalli requires submersion at least once a day, however the need to rehydrate can be accelerated if Kalli is exposed to temperatures above thirty degrees Celsius (or above eighty five degrees Fahrenheit). At these temperatures, Kalli begins to dehydrate a rapid rate reducing her time out of water from twenty four hours to sixteen. A further increase of twenty degrees will reduce it by another eight hours and so on. Her resistance to heat will develop along with her powers, however at the very least she'll always require a visit to the water once daily to remain in top shape.

    COLD: While the cold does not cause Kalli to dehydrate it can cause her body to slow and eventually shut down. Where humans have approximately seventy five percent of their body made up of water, Kalli's is almost eighty five and her body runs a much cooler temperature, roughly fifteen to twenty degrees Celsius (sixty to seventy degrees Fahrenheit). As a result, temperatures below negative ten degrees Celsius (fifteen degrees Fahrenheit) start to slow her body and much lower temperatures could cause her to fall unconcious or even into a coma. As with her vulnerability to heat, Kalli will grow more resistant to the cold as her powers develop.

    KRYPTONITE: Radioactive fragments of her father's homeworld before it exploded, Kalli experiences a variety of effects caused by these rocks. Often appearing as precious gems, making its way into numerous pieces of jewelry as well as being used for a number of other purposes. There are many types of Kryptonite which can affect Kalli and are divided into two groups. The first of which is naturally occurring and are true fragments of the destroyed Kryptonian world, the second group however are synthetic forms engineered on Earth from naturally occurring forms.

    NATURAL:
    GREEN: Green Kryptonite emits a radiation that is extremely toxic to Kalli. The radiation itself first causes symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, pain and weakness that eventually grow more severe until loss of consciousness occurs. Green kryptonite can also affect humans, causing mutations and psychosis.

    RED: Red Kryptonite brings out the rebellious and immoral personality of Kalli and rids her of most of her inhibitions. The effects of red kryptonite are likened to that of being under the influence of too much alcohol, without the loss of physical capability.

    BLUE: Blue Kryptonite suppresses Kalli's powers including her Atlantean ones, making her vulnerable like a mortal. It appears to contribute to human health. However, the effects of this kind of kryptonite disappear by ceasing to be in contact with it.

    GOLD: Gold Kryptonite can give Kalli permanent wounds that no amount of water and solar exposure can heal as well as strip her of her powers and abilities for good rendering her little more than human.​

    SYNTHETIC:
    BLACK: Black Kryptonite can be created when green kryptonite is heated at extreme temperatures and turns black. It has the ability to separate or combine the good and evil aspects of an organism (humans and Kryptonians alike) into two separate individuals. In Kalli's case, Black Kryptonite may separate her into an Atlantean and a Kryptonian.

    SILVER: Silver Kryptonite is a synthetic form of kryptonite that induces paranoia in Kalli. Silver Kryptonite is created when Kryptonite is corrupted with other radioactive materials from Earth such as Uranium and can also infect humans if they were to keep it in constant contact.

    GEMSTONE: Gemstone Kryptonite is made of white minerals originally found in a Kryptonite infected quarry. It causes Kalli to exhibit temporary powers of persuasion. The effects from the mineral can also affect the infected with it, meaning that if Kalli was infected with Gemstone Kryptonite she herself is also much easier to persuade and could be easily influenced to do actions which would normally be out of character. This type of kryptonite can be counteracted by green kryptonite.


    CLEAR: Clear Kryptonite is any form of kryptonite that has been neutralized and is harmless to Kalli. That said, Kryptonite is extraordinarily hard to neutralize and is thought to only be possible through either magic or Kryptonian tools that have been long since lost due to the planet's destruction.​

    DEPRIVATION: Specifically of Solar Radiaton and/or Water. Lack of solar radiation slows Kalli's development of her abilities along with greatly reducing her stamina, whereas deprivation of water leads to a severe decrease in Kalli's health and could eventually lead to death. Imprisonment is one of her greatest fears.​

    | APPLICATIONS: |
    Due to Kalli's vast abilities, she has numerous applications for them from being able to be a shield for her team, to being able to charge forward or even act as a communications coordinator. Obviously Kalli's greatest forte is aquatic combat and should be considered a specialist in the area.

While she'll never be able to fly like other Kryptonians, Kalli will be proven capable of performing standing high jumps of four stories (both on land and from water), lifting and throwing at least 25 tons. Aside from solar radiation, Kalli's strength is also dependent on how hydrated she is at that time. Contact with both water and sunlight will increase her strength to its absolute maximum.

    SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY: Kalli's enhanced physiology enables her to withstand impacts that would kill an ordinary human. She has grown up in ocean depths as deep as 20,000 feet (3.79 miles) below the surface of the water. However she could possibly even travel as deep as 36,000 feet (6.82 miles) considering that her abilities are still growing. Kalli is not completely durable against fire arms, but is able to take a direct hit by small arms fire without incapacitation though bruising will occur and repetitive blows will cause bleeding. Severe damage could be caused if Kalli didn't retreat to the water for healing. As Kalli absorbs sunlight, she'll eventually start to produce a bio-electric "aura" to further boost her durability. This supercharged bio-electric "aura" acts as an invisible "force field" radiating within a few millimeters from his skin and will allow Kalli to stand up against much more powerful blows.

    SUPERHUMAN SPEED: Kalli's regular speed is approximately twenty five miles per hour swimming underwater, although significantly less on the surface. Kalli's speed will continue to increase as her body absorbs solar radiation possibly making her capable of moving, reacting, running and flying at superhuman speeds. She'll be able to use this power to disarm opponents, and cross vast distances in seconds.

    SUPER BREATH: Kalli can create strong blasts of air by fully inflating her lungs and expelling the air towards a target. As her cells begin to absorb more solar radiation, these blasts could increase to hurricane force winds, and also to chill her breath in order to freeze a target. Kalli can also breathe in large amounts of air to dispel clouds of gas by exhaling it.

    SUPERVISION:
    LOW LIGHT VISION: Kalli has the ability to see in the murky depths of the ocean allows her exceptional night vision while on land. She has claimed that her eyes are adapted to see at 6,000 fathoms (or 36,000 feet below the surface of the water)

    TELESCOPIC VISION: Kalli has the ability to focus her vision to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics.

    MICROSCOPIC VISION: The ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the sub atomic level.

    X-RAY VISION: The ability to see through anything except lead. Since it is passive, this ability would not generate harmful radiation in the same manner as a focused projection of hard X-rays.
    SUPERHUMAN HEARING: Kalli has incredible hearing at extreme variances of sound and pitch frequency, allowing her to pick up noises from nautical miles away. She has shown difficulty with control and is unable to block out all ambient sounds to focus on a specific source/frequency at this time.

    TELEPATHY: Kalli has limited telepathy allowing her to hear the minds of others if she concentrates immensely. This can additionally function as a sonar sense allowing Kalli to further enhance her vision in darkness. This ability can also be used to communicate with teammates without the use of communications devices.

    HEALING FACTOR: Kalli has the ability with the use of water. While solar energy helps slow the bleeding, only water will accelerate her healing. As such if Kalli becomes injured she immediately seeks out water even if this means abandoning the battle if necessary to survive.
