I like most. It's the plot that decides.

Ever since the White Witch and her army was defeated, Narnia was at peace. The Great King, his brother and two sisters brought the land into an age of prosperity, fellowship and greatness. However, as unexpected as they first arrived, the four disappeared, and without neither them nor Aslan’s direct presence, the country faced hardships.

Generations ago, trouble was brewing in the Narnian forests. Humans, calling themselves Telmarines, invaded the once peaceful land, and chased the survivors into the dark woods. There they've stayed since, the human settlements wary of their presence.

Still, the Telmarines' kings weren't bad kings. They were just, fair, and kind to their people. In an effort to keep their population away from the old Narnians, they started rumors of the forests and rivers being haunted, and so people stayed away from them.

One king, however, could think higher of those before him. King Miraz, who had his brother killed in order to get the throne, was far stricter and malevolent than his predecessors. Especially when it came to Narnian past; under his rule the entire subject became a taboo, and no more than the humans’ history in Narnia was taught in schools.

So when a select few of his personal guards are found way more familiar with subject than he is comfortable with, he has no other choice than to banish them. Out of the castle, of the entire city even. Because just executing them would have been too easy.

Now the former guards must traverse these unknown and universally feared woods, in a fight for survival. But who knows if the shadow behind that tree is a friend, foe, or perhaps something entirely else...

~*~

Trouble is brewing in Narnian forests. All the way from the Lantern Waste, to the ruins of Cair Paravel, to the cavern containing the Stone Table, rumors are going around of people disappearing. A dwarf just getting that last buck not returning the next day here, a talking squirrel heading home to prepare the tea but never arriving there.

Obviously this has worried the already oppressed remains of Narnia’s previous population, but searching parties all end up missing like the ones they are looking for.

Things are getting dire as people struggle explaining to their children and themselves why Kipling or Erihurn or Juniperis or anyone else they know one day vanish.

Not wanting to just sit around and wait for whatever’s out there, three old Narnians venture out in a last-ditch effort to get to the bottom of the disappearances. But none of them would expect what was to be found in the deepest, murkiest corners of the forest...

As for the Telmarines, not more than one, if any, may choose half-dwarf, the rest is human.

  • Thank You
Reactions: 1 person
Hey since there is an open slot may I reserve it? I really like this idea since I've loved the books since I was younger!
Sure, go ahead!

[WIP]
Name:
Claek Glambaez
Age: 17
Species/Race: Satyr (half goat half man)

Appearance:
satyr_archer_by_infamy_inspired-d3btg2v.jpg

Biography:
Claek grew up in the forest being told stories of the people who lived out of them, the humans, he was told to be careful with them and if he ever saw one it was always best to hide from them. He never understood why he had to act in such away towards them, but he respected his parents and thought it was best to follow what they said. During his life he took this to heart, training himself to be quite sneaky and better with ranged weapons.

Strengths:
  • Claek is quite quick on his feet, learning that he wasn't that strong so he might as well make up for that with speed.
  • He's a good shot when it comes to ranged weapons easily figuring out how to fire them with a few practice shots.
  • Helping with his proficiency with ranged weapons he's adept at climbing even with his goat legs which might be thought as clumsy to most.
Weaknesses:
  • Claek isn't that study, meaning he's not great with melee weapons and isn't great at taking hits easily going down in a single one if it was well placed.
  • Claek isn't great at planning, he'll go along with one if given, but on his own he'd more likely lay low and attack the first chance he got rather than being patient and planning an attack.
Equipment:
  • Claek wears some light clothing, armour never really suiting him as he never found a reason to wear it.
  • He carries around a sling around with him normally (he has a short bow at home for when he needs it but never thinks to bring it out unless there's a reason) along with a small pouch of barbed metal balls as ammo.
  • He has a small dagger as a last resort weapon.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Species/Race:[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] Talking animal, robin redbreast.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Appearance:[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] Cinderglow has, like most robins, red feathers covering her chest, a grey tone covering the rest. The inside of her wings are a lighter shade of grey, almost white. Like other talking animals of Narnia, Cinderglow is quite a bit bigger than her non-speaking counterparts, standing at the size of a small eagle. Still, her tailcoat of feathers, small, sharp beak and beady black eyes are no different.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Biography:[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] While nine years may seem like a young age for a willing adventurer, Cinderglow did, like other talking animals (and animals in general, really) mature faster than humans.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]And, like most avians, Cinderglow grew up in the somewhat protected clutter of a hole in a tree she called her home. She and her siblings sat around for their first few years, relying on their parents for food.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Once Cinderglow was old enough to fly, things took a turn for the different. Despite being one of the younger birds among her siblings, she was one of the earlier to learn the art, and she loved it. Seeing the world for the first time, pass her by in a blur as she himself kept going upwards and inwards at what felt like the speed of light, was an experience she never wanted to stop having.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]And still doesn’t want to. In her opinion, flying is what she was made to do, and so she dedicates as much time of the day to do it as possible. Many are those who have criticized her recklessness, but lucky is she to never had to face the dangers they warned her about.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Personality:[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] Cinderglow hasn’t completely outgrown the child in her. She is kind and cheerful, and never expects anything but people’s best back. She’s easy to frighten, easier to scare, and intimidation takes almost nothing. If attempting at angering her, however, she will probably go mope somewhere before any progress is made, then come back as cheerful as ever minutes later.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Intellectually speaking, Cinderglow is lacking. In all her carefreeness, she never took the time to study anything properly besides practical flight, and although she has the good memory of a talking animal, her relatively short life so far hasn’t let her see much to remember.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Fire has a certain hypnotizing effect on her.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Strengths:[/BCOLOR]
  • [BCOLOR=transparent]Cinderglow makes for a brilliant scout, being capable of flight and all.[/BCOLOR]
  • [BCOLOR=transparent]Working on perfecting her non-talking bird imitation, she can to some extent blend in as one. Her size is off-putting, though.[/BCOLOR]
  • [BCOLOR=transparent]Cinderglow values morale highly, and makes sure to constantly keep people around her in a good mood.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Weaknesses:[/BCOLOR]
  • [BCOLOR=transparent]Cinderglow has an unhealthy fascination with fire. [/BCOLOR]
  • [BCOLOR=transparent]She is completely useless in a fight. Besides occasionally swooping in and pecking at eyes, she prefers watching from a treetop. Hollow bones combined with her size means she’s very fragile.[/BCOLOR]
  • [BCOLOR=transparent]She is for that matter completely useless strategically speaking as well.[/BCOLOR]
  • [BCOLOR=transparent]No arms.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Equipment:[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] Without hands she’s not able to hold anything, and as an animal she has no need for clothing. So nothing.[/BCOLOR]

~Name~
Jenson Nusquam

~Age~
18

~Race~
Telmarian

~Appearance~
Very generic European features. Light blonde hair, light skin, blue eyes, hasn't had the time to develop out of his pretty boy younger days.

~Biography~
Jenson has no reputation yo speak of. The son of a minor noble, he's trained to be a Knight since birth. However, on his eighteenth birthday he elected to go adventuring as part of his Squire training, extreme hands on experience. He's as green as they come and then some.

~Strengths~
Swordsmanship: Perhaps a boring and unoriginal skill, it is still a great asset to not dying. He has trained for a great many years and is a decent, perhaps even above average swordsman, but like listed below, has a crippling sense of honor that demands he fight a certain way.

Horseback Riding: There's really not a lot to say here.

Weapons Master: Which may be a bit of a misnomer. He's had small amounts of training with various weapons over the years, which allow a slightly faster than average acclimation to getting used to it, but that's about it.

~Weaknesses~
Naivety: Henson may have upstanding ideals, but they haven't been tested against the world. Opposing morality and philosophy can cause great turmoil for him if it rings more true in the world he's seen.

Chivalry: In a world where not everyone conforms to a knightly ideal, he doesn't consider the possibility of others fighting dirty.

Note: Many thanks to @Don for helping me with this.

Name: Granttias Graff
Age: 30
Species/Race: Telmarine
Appearance: Granttias stands at six feet three inches tall. He has black hair that is swooshed to the side and has a very thin beard that encircles his whole face. He is quite well built ( spending hours training since he was younger) and has a scar over his right eye due to an accident. He also has a tattoo of a sword on his right bicep and a dagger on his left bicep.
Biography: Granttias fights for himself and whoever can give him the most pay. He has earned a name for himself as a scavenger of the land and a rouge. He isn't above murdering people for money and he rarely is fair. Growing up as an orphan taught him the value of money and how important it was to life. At the age of 15, he started as a rouge and has been doing it ever sicne.
Personality: Granttias generally cares about people and is kind to everyone that he meets, unless they give a reason not to be. He has a soft spot for orphans and people who don't know much about the cruel world and is overprotective towards them. He also can be ruthless to anyone who betrays him. He can't be romantic to save his life, but he is also a helpless flirt towards both men and women ( he has no preference). If you get close to him, he also tends to be faithful and will never betray you, no matter how much money he is given.
Strengths: Swordsmanship: He is very good at wielding a sword and can counter most attacks. He also can use daggers
Stealth: Granttias is good at stealth and can easily go in and out of places
Hand to Hand combat: He is good at hand to hand fighting.
Weaknesses: Horseback Riding: He can't ride a horse to save his life.
Can't handle ranged weapons and often misfires them and hurts others.
Has an unhealthy obessison with earning money/goods to keep himself alive.
Can't swim.
Equipment: Two small daggers and one sword. He also has some armor, but he rarely uses it.

Signups reopened, we're back at one open spot with the Old Narnians.

And signups are now (hopefully) closed for good.

Expect an IC around soon.

Name: Neima (NEE-mah) Stormwise
Age: 28ish
Species/Race: Centaur

Appearance: Neima is no delicate creature, she is sturdily built and well muscled from her time as a warrior. Her coat is a dark bay and her hair and tail are a rich ebony. Deep sea green eyes hide behind her long, thick lashes. She has olive tan skin and is roughly 15 hands at the withers.

tumblr_okz92c8GS71uoblcyo1_1280.jpg

Biography: (Whoops, this is kinda long, sorry! Also took some creative liberties with some things that totally aren’t canon.)
The Stormwise name has always been one associated with great foresight and knowledge of things to come. It has been said that a Stormwise was one such that foretold the struggles that the Narnians would face at the hand of the Telmarines. So they sit and watch the skies even as the Telmarines push them deeper and deeper into the woods, where perhaps an even darker evil is stirring. Yet one Stormwise feels that the time for watching is over and the time for action has come.
Unlike her family, Neima Stormwise had no wish or patience to interpret what the skies showed. To take the most direct course of action has always been her way. When she was still a young filly she begged her father to let her train to be a defender of the Old Narnians. She was so determined that her father did give way before long, as he saw that there would be no changing her mind.
After years of training, her wish became true and she became one of the last to stand against the Telmarines, though it was not long before their small force disbanded and simply urged the Narnians to seek refuge deeper in the wood. Unwilling to simply let things go, Neima became something of a wandering sword for the Narnians, coming to the aid of those most defenseless.

Personality: Neima is a serious person, and takes things at face value for the most part. She is determined and will not take no for an answer. A practical thinker, she doesn’t dwell so much on the “what-ifs” but looks to the things that she can do and change in situations. When communicating with others she is forthright, telling them exactly what her thoughts and opinions are. She can often be seen as blunt in this regard as she does not soften her words. Neima is a mostly reserved person, although her temper, when awoken, is a fiery thing.

Strengths: Fighting/Strategy - Since she had somewhat of a formal training with weapons and tactics, Neima is better than the average creature when it comes to blows, or planning blows.
Determination - As stated in her personality, Neima is a determined thing and will see things through no matter what. Her determination can also be seen as fearlessness as she will do practically anything to get the outcome she wishes.
Perception - Perhaps a somewhat inherited trait, Neima is very perceptive and good at acting accordingly to her perceptions of the situations she faces.

Weaknesses: Stealth - Although she has lived in practical hiding her whole life, she just isn’t very good at sneaking about, perhaps her direct approach on life figures into this. Neima’s body type is her greatest fault here, a creature the size of a horse is hard to conceal in any situation.
People Skills - Being the straightforward thing she is, Neima isn’t all that good with conversing with people in friendly banter.
Confrontational - Perhaps enjoys fighting and conflict just a little too much as it seems she seeks these things out.
Physical Limits - Obviously Neima can't climb trees.

Equipment: Neima carries multiple weapons, although her go-to is a glaive type polearm as she has the most reach with it. She also carries a hand-and-a-half sword, which she uses in closer combat.
Neima wears simple clothing, a tunic belted at the waist generally. Although, she does wear more protective gear when suiting up for conflict. Namely, a breastplate, gauntlets, and other such armor (all mostly made of leather for more maneuverability and less weight).

Sorry it took me so long to get this up. Can't wait to get started with this! It's gonna be fun![/hr]
