The world has just entered a new era. One of global reclamation and peace. It has only been little over 500 years since the Earth was reclaimed from the forces of Hell and rule of the Essence of Evil, who dominated the world for a millennia. The inhabitants of the planet must now rebuild their lives. The empires and kingdoms of the world were wiped away during the early years of Hell's rule, which has become known today as the "Era of Darkness." The people of the world are rediscovering everything, including the art of magic. Nations are beginning to form, large and small. Soon, the world may once again be caught up in conflict as nations continue to grow, and will inevitably begin fighting one another for whatever reasons they can come up with.

In a world where almost anything is possible if you are smart enough, or powerful enough, what will you do?

This RP is set up to be as much of a free-form RP as possible, while still providing a moderately defined world and defined laws. What this means is that, i am going to provide a moderate world history and a general setting, and you the players are going to fill in the rest with whatever you want. You will be able to create any type of character you want that is whatever race/species you want with whatever history you want. Want to play a character who happens to be the king of a nation? Go ahead. Want to play as a powerful crime lord, leading organised crime across the land? That works too. And anything in-between.

You can be an angel, a demon, a vampire, an elf, a dwarf, or even some kind of alien that somehow ended up on this planet. You can even be a human! Or any mix of any races if you want to be a hybrid, so long as you got the story to back it up. The choice is yours and the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

You can be evil, bloodthirsty, brutal, and heartless, or good, righteous, kind, and benevolent. Or again, anywhere in-between.

You can make up your own plot within the world, and get others to follow along with it, or be one of those followers yourself. This gives you the freedom to create your own story within the setting, and the freedom to lead it however you see fit. You can be sort of a mini-GM! Think up your own village, or town, or city, or your own nation, and do with it what you want.

You can have multiple character at once if you want to. Hell, you can even use them to RP with yourself if that's the kind of thing you're into.

For a character template, the basics should include:

Name:
Age:
Race/Species:
Powers/Abilities:
Weapons:
History:
Personality:
Appearance:

If there is anything else you feel like adding to your own character template, go right ahead.

The general story of the world and general plot of the world, as hinted at in the first post, is as follows:

It has been just over 500 years since the Earth was freed from Hell's rule. Before it was taken back, Hell ruled over the world for nearly 1000 years. During that time, all of the nations of the world were destroyed, hardly even leaving any ruins behind. The surviving inhabitants of Earth were either forced into slavery or managed to hide away as nomads in small groups. Now that the forces of Hell have been pushed back, the people of the world can once again begin to settle and grow.

Now, i will fill in some blanks to better explain what all of that means.

First, i will explain what exactly the Essence of Evil is, and related beings. There is the Essence of Evil, the Essence of Good, and the Guardian of the Balance. Three living beings are chosen to take on these roles, whether they want to or not. The essences take over the bodies of whoever is chosen, retaining the memories of those people, but filling them with the power and personality of the essence itself. When this happens, the soul of the person who's body is taken over, is removed from the body and basically gets a free pass into Heaven.

The Essence of Evil takes his or her place as ruler of hell, while the Essence of Good takes his or her place as leader of the Golden Council in Heaven. The Essence of Good should not be mistaken for God though, they are 2 very different beings. However, the Essence of Evil is roughly equivalent to the devil.

The Guardian of the Balance acts as an anchor for both sides. It is the one in charge of making sure that neither side becomes to powerful. Unlike the essences however, this person does not have their soul removed. It is merely given incredible power over light and dark magics, as well as various other special abilities that allows it to do it's intended job, including eternal life without aging, which is also given to the essences.

Now that i have explained what those 2 beings are, i can explain how the forces of Hell were pushed back from Earth. The Guardian was incapacitated for the vast majority of the 1000 years of Hell's rule, having been captured before his power could be granted to his, and imprisoned in Hell. Due to a certain event, he was able to escape back to Earth, gain his power as the Guardian, and with the help of the Heaven's army, defeated the Essence of Evil and banished his forces back to Hell.

Due to having eternal life though, the Essence of Evil came back not long after, but not before his forces were already wiped out on Earth. Now Earth is free again.

But this RP actually deals with all 3 worlds, Hell, Earth, and Heaven. Hell and Heaven may not be quite like what you might be thinking. Heaven is not the perfect world with streets paved in gold, where every soul can live their greatest fantasies in eternal happiness. In truth, while Heaven is generally a better, more pleasant place to live than Earth, it is not a place of pure good and happiness. And Hell is just the opposite. While it is generally worse than Earth, it is not a place of pure evil and terror. There can be evil angels, and good demons. Everything is a shade of grey, and the only beings that are plain black or white, are the Essences of Good and Evil.

In Heaven, there are White Angels, Black Angels, and Golden Angels, as well as the souls of Earth's dead who were deemed worthy to go to Heaven. White Angels are the ones who are basically classified as the workers of Heaven. They keep everything organized and running smoothly. The Black Angels are the soldiers of Heaven, and make up the entirety of the Military. They specialize in dark magic rather than light magic. And finally, the Golden angels, whom there are only 4 of at any point in time, make up the Golden Council along with the Essence of Good. They are the ones who oversee the Heaven, basically working as the political branch of the Heaven.

In Hell, things are not nearly as organized. There are no designated workers, and the only political being is the Essence of Evil. All Demons are considered part of the military, and any souls from Earth who end up there after death are subject to whatever needs the demons have, usually as slaves.

It is possible to enter both Heaven and Hell from Earth without dying. To find the gates of Hell, one must set fire to a section of forest somewhere, and once the flames spread enough, one must walk into the heart of the burning forest. Once having gone far enough in, you will find that the flames come to and end at a point, and the rest of the forest appears completely dead. This is when you have crossed into the Dead Forest, the entrance to Hell. There is no light source in this area, yet you will find that you are somehow able to see just fine. Continue wandering through the forest, and the you will soon find the Gates. To return to the Earth, you must wander until you find a thin slowing river, and dive into it. Upon come up tot he surface of the water, you will find yourself back on Earth, swimming in the nearest body of water to where you entered the burning forest.

To enter Heaven, you must fly up through a break in the clouds where a clearly visible ray of sunlight is shining through. Once above the clouds, you will be greeted by the Golden Gates of Heaven. To return to Earth, simply jump back down through the clouds.

As far as how Gods work in this RP, there are many different gods for many different things, but there is one god above all others. The Supreme God created all other gods, as well as the systems of Heaven, Hell, and the universe between them. That particular god does not actually live in Heaven as one might expect. No one really knows where it is or anything else about it other than the fact that it was the original creator.

That should just about do it for the description of the world and whatnot. Remember that the possibilities for custom stories and characters are still nearly limitless in this RP. I have given you a defined world, and you can do what you wish within it.

This is a list of rules and guidelines of what exactly is NOT allowed in this RP, things known as Godmods. Some of these things are only godmods when used in certain situations like player vs player combat, while other are godmods no matter when or how they are used. The situations that make them mods will be listed as well.

1: Teleportation of ANY kind, including portals and moving at a speed that is so fast that it might as well be teleporting, if used during a fight or for the purpose of starting a fight, such as teleporting behind someone to hit them or anything like that, is a god mod. It is a mod because it makes it nearly impossible, if not entirely impossible to hit you. It is ok to use outside of combat, but once your character is engaged in a fight, it becomes unfair to use. This means that using it to escape a fight is also not fair to do. Moving abnormally fast is ok, so long as it is still possible for someone to keep up with you, provided they have the ability to do so.

2: You cannot block an attack with your body and take no damage from it. No matter how insanely powerful your character may be, if you are directly hit with any attack, you take damage from it that is relative to the attack dealt. For example: if someone slices your arm, and you fail to either dodge it or block it with a weapon or shield or something of the like, your arm gets cut. Depending on how the attacker worded the post, your arm could in fact be cut clean off.

3: Your attack, no matter how complex, no matter how powerful, no matter how long it took you to charge it, CAN AND MUST be able to be completely avoided in some way. Now the way it can be avoided can be extremely hard to figure out, sure. Or it can take a lot of power to avoid, power equal to the amount of power it took to make the attack. Which means that if you put every last ounce of your energy into an attack and someone manages to avoid getting hit by it, you're shit out of luck because you just used up all your power and are now almost completely defenseless. Bottom line is, there is no such thing as an attack that cannot be avoided, period.

4: Armor does not protect you from everything. If someone with the strength to punch a building and turn it into a crater slashes you with a sword, I don't care how thick your suit of armor is, that steel isn't going to prevent it from penetrating. Armor is almost completely useless in a high power RP fight, and it is recommended that it be used only for show. However, this is limited to high power fights, as stated, and armor can be very useful in the right scenarios against the right opponents.

5: In case I didn't clear this up earlier, an attack requires an equal amount of power to create as the amount of damage it causes. So the harder it is to defend against, the more power it must drain from you in the process. For example: If someone makes an attack that is powerful enough to take out several people and deal incredible destruction to the area at the same time, that is what we call a "Finisher" move. Such a move usually requires the user to be drained of nearly all power after usage. It is a trump card, if you will.

6: Illusions are a tricky thing to call into an RP fight for several reasons. One of those reasons is that it's so easy to god mod when using one, and usually takes a lot of skill and practice in order to use one that is not a mod. In order to use an illusion, you MUST make it possible to whomever it is being used on to figure out that it is an illusion. You can make it difficult to figure it out, but it must be able to be figured out without asking if it is an illusion. Another, more noobish way of doing it, is to include in the post itself that it is an illusion. You can't make some kind of super crazy attack that nearly destroys someone and then say "oh it was an illusion, don't worry" UNLESS you make it so that they can figure out what it is BEFORE it is used. They don't HAVE to actually figure it out, but you have to provide what is needed in order for them to be able to figure it out.

7: Any weapon can be broken if it is put under enough strain. You can augment your weapon, enchant it, forge it, whateverthefuckyouwant it to make it stronger both physically and magically, but it is by no means completely indestructible. Even if a weapon can be disassembled and reconstructed, or shattered and reconstructed, it can be permanently disabled/broken somehow. Again, the way to do it can be hard to figure out, but it can be done.

8: Doing something as incredible as moving planets, stars, controlling the flow of souls, or anything that outrageous, is a godmod. Doing things like that would require VAST amounts of power to accomplish even in a small way. So much power that, short of being a god character, you shouldn’t be able to do. There are times when something like this may be possible, but only for story reasons, and almost never during a fight.

9: You do not have an unlimited amount of energy. You do not have the ability to completely drain your energy in an attack, and then absorb energy from something else to regenerate all the energy you used up. You may be able to become stronger or obtain more energy based on certain circumstances, but it is not unlimited no matter what. Absorbing energy in and of itself is a touchy subject in a fight. It is generally accepted that when someone absorbs energy that does not belong to them, they cannot hold on to that energy for more than a few seconds, and it causes a certain amount of discomfort/pain depending on the type and amount of energy absorbed. It can be a great way to deflect an energy attack and/or keep from having to use your own store of energy, but it does not come without a price.

10: Hybrid races are a tricky thing to use. But here’s the deal. If you choose to play as a hybrid character that is made up of more than 1 race, such as a vampire/demon, or any other mixture, then you take into account the weaknesses that both races have. You cannot have all of the strengths and none of the weaknesses; it just doesn’t work that way. Any strengths that you get from one side will be halved since you are only 50% of that race. However, the same goes for its weaknesses. You will only be half as affected by whatever that race is weak to. If you play a character that is made up of 2 races that both share similar strengths and/or weaknesses, then those would be amplified accordingly, however it is generally accepted that you would never be as powerful as a pure breed. You could be close, and in certain cases could surpass a purebreed, but it varies depending on the combination. Switching between 2 halves is a tricky thing as well. Doing so can change your attributes dramatically, like perhaps a demon/angel. Some people might make a character with that combination and instead of being a weird looking white/black creature, they would prefer to switch between the 2. When doing so, their affinity changes accordingly from light to dark and vise versa. However, it is still expected that the character will not be as powerful as a purebred of either race. It would be a bit unfair to say that one minute you’re as strong as a full blooded dark demon, and the next your affinity changes to be as strong as a full blooded light angel.

11: Custom races/species are rarely used, but if you think you’ve got a great idea for one in mind and want to use it, there are a few simple rules you need to know. The race, like all others, must have equal but opposite strengths and weaknesses. There is no such thing as a perfect race or species. For every abnormal positive, there must be a corresponding negative. Follow this rule and you should have no problem creating a believable and useable new custom race.

12: Custom magic follows very similar rules as custom races. If you wish to create a new power through magic, it must have disadvantages to balance its advantages. For example, I myself created a type of magic I call Chaos magic/energy by taking light and dark energy and forcing them together. The result is a highly unstable and violent new energy that is a result of the 2 opposite conflicting energies fighting against each other. It is a very powerful form of magic and can be used in a variety of ways, but due to its unstable nature, it is almost as dangerous to the user as it is to its target. But that is the tradeoff. I get to use a much more powerful magic against my opponents, but in return, I take damage from it as well. So it works.

13: Healing in combat is another tricky thing. Typically, healing in combat is considered cheap, but in some cases, it can even be an outright godmod. First of all, there is no such thing as an instant full heal. Your character cannot be severely injured in multiple places, and then you cast a super uber heal spell and suddenly your character is perfectly fine. Healing magic follows the same principles as any other magic: The output must be proportional to the input, meaning that if a super heal of that magnitude were to be done, then virtually all of your energy would have to be used up in the process, and you would more than likely still die because you'd be a sitting duck after that. Healing should only be done in small amounts during combat, if at all, and never instantly, always over time. Things like bandages and whatnot can be used, provided that you can find the time during a battle to apply them (and no, magic self-applying bandages are not ok to use.) Passive healing (healing that works without the need for magic, such as the way vampires are known to have quick regenerating abilities.) are never powerful enough to patch you up fully during combat. While such a thing will heal your wounds more quickly than a normal human, the process will still take time, at least a day or 2 depending on the injury. You can't be like Wolverine from the X men and take a bullet to the brain and recover from it in just a few minutes. That kind of passive healing is way to powerful and is considered a godmod if used in combat. In fact, recovering from a shot to the brain AT ALL would be considered a godmod, even if it's not passively.

14: Playing a god character is acceptable in this RP, which allows that character to break certain rules here. However, a God character is not allowed to behave just like a normal person. Gods are immortal beings, and usually only reveal themselves to mortals for very specific reasons. You will never find a god simply mingling among mortals unless it has some kind of motive behind it. Gods will also never fight for or against any mortals themselves. It is forbidden for a god to unleash it's power with the intent of causing harm to a mortal being.

15: No one is allowed to create a character who is the Essence of Good or Evil, nor a character who is the Guardian of the Balance. These character are made for story purposes only and posses powers and abilities that would simply make it a godmod to play.

These rules are subject to revision at any time. More may be added in the furture as well if needed.

I would also like to explain how magic works in this RP.

Every living being has a certain amount of Mana within them. Mana is like raw energy that can be harnessed and then converted into different forms of magic. It can be used to create fire, to control water, air, or stone. It can turned into darkness, or light, and many other forms as well. The more Mana used, the more powerful it becomes. The amount of Mana that a being has can be increased by practicing with magic and expanding one's knowledge of magic, similar to how exercising builds muscle and physical stamina. The more Mana that one uses, the more exhausted they become, until finally they collapse from lack of energy. Mana can be replenished by resting or sleeping. It can also be given from one being to another, but it cannot be taken by force.

Magic works in a scientific way. For example, fire is simply a chemical reaction that requires oxygen to create. If there is no oxygen, then fire cannot burn, and no amount of magic will change that. Magic is simply energy that can take on a wide array of forms. Defined spells exist, but they are basically just a manipulation of energy used to create a specific reaction. For example: a spell/incantation that causes an object to move in a certain way is basically just the caster using their own energy to manipulate the object, like telekinesis. Spells almost never require that the caster say any kind of "magic word" or phrase. However, that has never stopped some people from making up words or phrases to associate with certain uses of magic in order to try and catagorize them.

In short, Magic relies on one's Mana, and all magic is a form of energy, converted into other forms of energy in order to achieve specific results.

This post contains a list of all character profiles in the RP, labeled with the username of the player who plays the character. Keep in mind that any character marked as a GM Character/Major NPC is meant to be treated as somewhat of a God character, basically meaning that it is not wise to try and fight the character as it does not follow all of the rules that other characters do. At the same time, you can never be attacked by any of these characters either. They are simply meant to help move the RP along.

User: Pheonix (GM character/Major NPC)
Name: Pheonix Shenzing
Age: 1537 (appears to be around 26)
Race/Species: Human - White
Occupation: Guardian of the Balance
Powers: Master of fire magic, Expert of arcane magic, Gifted the powers of Light and Dark magics equally
Weapons: The Shenzing Blade - A sword passed down through his family, made entirely out of 10,000 shards from various shattered power crystals.

History: Pheonix was once the second born prince of the great empire of Shenzing that once encompassed much of the world. To make a long story short, it turned out that his younger brother Kino became the Essence of Evil, while his younger sister became the Essence the of Good. Before he knew his destiny as the Guardian of the Balance, Kino launched a swift surprise attack, hitting their forces where they were weakest, and overpowering them. Amidst the chaos, he was captured and taken prisoner while fighting alongside his older brother Dyne. He remained prisoner in Hell for nearly 1000 years, before a strange event occurred within Hell, that inadvertently resulted in his escape back to Earth. After a short time, he was found by Gaia and discovered that he had been the one destined to defeat Kino all along as the Guardian of the Balance. Gifted with unimaginable power, along with the aid of heaven Dark Angel army, Pheonix pushed back the forces of Hell from Earth and slayed Kino.

Soon after, he built a new home for himself, with the memory of family's empire and his royal birthright lost to people of the world, like so many other great things lost during the Era of Darkness. He used his power to create large mansion inside of a Pocket Dimension. The area is one of many wonders of the world. The Pocket Dimension is a place on Earth that is in no specific spot on the map. The only way to get to this specific area is to either know where it is, or if anyone happens to wander into a forest without any real clue as to where they are going, and/or with no real destination in mind, they will end up stumbling upon the area, and his mansion. Because of this, wandering travelers of all kinds often stop by unannounced, without realizing how they managed to get there. The entire second floor of his mansion was built with nothing but bedrooms for that reason, acting as somewhat of an Inn or rest-stop.

Lately though, as the world has started advancing, trade routes being established, and general global organisation has started getting better, the amount of visitors he gets has been declining as well. Virtually all of his friends have either died or forgotten him, and his eternal life has been getting to him. He has gone insane in various ways over the years. The Human mind and soul was never meant to have to deal with all the things he has to gone through, and continues to go through. But it's not easy to be suicidal when you just come back to life 3 days after you kill yourself.

Personality: Currently unpredictable. Generally insane, though not in a hostile way. In fact, getting a new visitor that isn't sent by Kino to bug him would probably be extremely welcome to him.

Appearance: Pheonix stands at 6'7" tall. He is a bit buff with very defined muscles all over his body, though not very visible under his clothing. His generally wears a long black trench coat with a white sleeveless shirt under it, and light grey pants, all of which are a bit loose fitting. He also has a pair of black boots. His hair is only a few inches long, and is a mixture of blonde and black. The pattern of the blonde and black parts is random, but there is an even amount of both colors. His eyes are cerulean blue, and his face has a thick slash scar going diagonally across his face. There are also a whole array of other scars all over his body, but due to his clothing, the one on his face is the only one you can see.

User: LaharlSama
Name: Himikaowa Suzumiya

Age: 1672

Race/Species: Demon (no specific name for its actual species)

Powers/Abilities: Flight, Able to condense and expand materials to different proportions (Uses the same matter and has limits, also condensed objects will get extremely heavy), Blue Fire (able to manipulate in many ways, extremely hot.), Conjuring weapons and armor from his mana although it constantly drains depending on the amount of energy he swings with or blocks with, only effective in short encounters and extremely taxing, Able to change appearance (somewhat of an illusion and can be seen through to his real form), Absorbing strength from flesh of living or near dead beings, usually takes a long time and leaves him extremely vulnerable. The scent of an enemies blood will send him into a frenzy if he has not eaten in a while causing him to be reckless and dangerous to himself and all others.

Weapons: Curved Dagger and two Falchions

History: Himi was a regular soldier in Hell's armies when the Earth was taken over. He was never anything too special at the start and not even towards the middle of the takeover. He only began to rise to any sort of power near the end of the takeover after he had feasted upon many of the enslaved humans. Himikaowa is a flesh eating demon who gains his strength from fallen prey of any sort. He doesn't gain all of their strength but a portion making him a extremely high threat if left unchecked. Once the forces of evil were pushed back he managed to live from village to village under the guise of a simple traveling merchant who sold strange concoctions. At times of dire hunger he would pose as a beautiful angel and lure in unsuspecting humans to the edges of forests and feast upon them when they least expected making sure to leave no evidence that they had existed at all.

Personality: He is relatively calm and attempts to smooth talk people into doing what he wants. When he is in battle he will generally stay the same while throwing out subtle insults to anger his opponents and attempt to lower their guard due to becoming aggravated. When he is in a feeding frenzy he will lunge recklessly at any living being in an attempt to kill and feast upon them no matter the cost.

Age: 1546

Race/Species: Nine-tailed fox demon a.k.a Kitsune

Powers/Abilities: ability to produce fire and manipulate any surrounding fire. Ability to shift to and from fox and human and whatever in between.

Weapons: Claws and fire when in fox form; Cross-bow, knives and fire in human

History: Has been alone for a large part of his life which makes him have trust issues, he became an assassin when he first learned to fight in his human form. He was trained in an academy for quite sometime, before out-witting his master and running a sword through his chest although he lost his right eye in the battle. He was given his nickname for the fact that he caused (causes) a lot of problems with pranks and will kill just about anyone if bribed enough. He not necessarily "bad" per say but not very "good" either.

Personality: A trickster, even if he appears to be quite mature and collected to others. If you find something nasty is hitting you anywhere when you walk into a room it was most likely his rig.

User: Zen
Name: Rose Ona

Age: 19

Race/Species: Human

Powers/Abilities: Earth/Nature powers, very gifted with Life Force/Energy

Weapons: She has an emerald green sword that has been blessed by the God of the Earth, Gaia. The sword also has two blue sapphires, which are meant to amplify her magic. Rose also has a very archaic looking pendant. It is a circular blue crystal held in place with a silver casing, and hung on a thin silver chain. The pendant is suppose to act an as amplifier for her magic. It can also talk.

History: Ever since the age of 9 Rose has been on the hunt for her family's murderer. Both of her parents and her sister were killed by one man, the Essence of Evil. Despite being told that her wish to avenge her family will never be fulfilled, Rose is still trying desperately to find a solution. She has yet to give up, although she is coming dangerously close to losing faith in herself.

Personality: At the very core of her Rose is a very bitter and lonely soul. She holds a lot of anger and hatred in her heart, both of which she blames on the killer. The killer she hates for taking away her family, but hating him as well for taking away the rest of her life. Rose wishes that she could live a life of normalcy, but knows that such an existence is nigh impossible for her. This revelation has made her a very angry person, but the frustration only shows itself when Rose witnesses a normal scene taking place, such as a couple holding hands, or children being able to play. So long as Rose is focused on a task at hand, she is a very calm and collected individual.

Appearance:
Warrior-Goddess.jpg

Keep in mind that I'm using this picture as a reference for Rose' face and body. She normally wears a tunic, loose fitting pants/tousers, and sandals. If possible she will something that covers up her feet better, but everything she wears is very worn down. At times there will be holes in her clothes.

User: Inanity_Check
Name:
Hana Carter

Age:
19 (every death brings her back to how she looked when she first died)

Race/Species:
Human

Powers/Abilities:
Anything a human can do!

Strengths:
Complete immunity to panic, due to all the downright bizarre "jobs" that her employer sends her on.
Hana can also "requisition" resources or aid through her employer via her lifeline- this is usually a BAD THING, due to the fact that the The Lady in Pink seems to delight in her suffering.
When killed, she is continually brought back to life if her employer feels she didn't accomplish what she was sent out to do.
She is also a surprisingly good shot; if it is due to natural talent, or dying so many times in the exact same situation that she already knows how everything is going to go down is best left unknown.

Weaknesses:
Hana is a soft, squishy human. She has above average reflexes and fitness for someone of her age, but nothing outside the bounds of human ability.
The Lady in Pink seems to enjoy making Hana's life hard, making any task a surmountable, but inevitably scarring mission.
Being brought back to life isn't of any use in a combat setting; she injures and heals at the same rate as a normal human.

Weapons:
A small pocket knife that can cut through essentially anything- only when used against a corner/sharp edges, otherwise it's extremely dull.
A handgun.
A small phone, her "lifeline" and connection to her horrendously sadistic employer.

History:
Hana is a completely ordinary young woman; she has no destiny to speak of, and was content to go through school, get a degree, get married, have 2.5 children, and live her life out. During her last break after graduation, she responded to an ad to be a clerk for a kiosk at a nearby tourist trap. When she went, she was told that she was greeted by The Lady in Pink, who told her she was the "chosen one" that would "get things done" (essentially, it was a very flowery, overly positive way saying she was the only person who responded to the seedy ad).

Since then, Hana has apparently been flung throughout time itself; she can be seen even in ancient mosaics, a footnote of countless histories, a curiosity that has performed countless actions; some great, some trivial, and most of them seemingly contradictory; and usually ending in her painful demise. She has been maimed, mutilated and killed far too many times to count. This time, she found herself stuck far into... well, if it is the past or future, she doesn't know anymore. Only now being resurrected from her previous failure of the current task set before her, (which ended in a very painful manner involving demons with a penchant for human flesh) she barely even opened her eyes before her "lifeline" rang, her employer cheerfully telling her the exact same thing she said the first time, the cryptic words "meet the others and get things done!" her only guide.

Personality:
Once a happy girl, the situation she has found her in has caused her to become extremely fatalistic, with a sense of humor trending to black. She is determined to get whatever she needs to do done, but less out of dedication and a strong will; it is more due to the fact that not pussy-footing around usually results in less pain and death on her part. A this point, she has seen so much horror, so much pain (most of it being her own) that nothing phases her- she is perfectly fine questioning the masculinity of a mighty demon to his face; she probably has already learned first hand whatever she says to him is going to end messily for her.

Appearance:
A young blond haired woman, who is roughly five feet and eight inches tall. She looks like she was beautiful, but circumstances has changed this; she is slovenly and bedraggled, with deep circles under her eyes and a gaunt frame. She wears a nearly permanent look of weariness mixed with boredom.

and her employer (who will never make an appearance, except maybe if this thread becomes truly epic and long. In any case, it won't be in a capacity actually helpful to Hana)

Name:
Lady in Pink, who Amy refers to as "The Employer"

Age:
unknown

Race:
unknown (entity of godlike power)

Abilities:
The Employer can mimic the effects of spells or create mundane objects for Hana's use; at the cost of Hana's life-force and mana- which means not much can be used without severely draining or harming Hana physically. Her influence on the world is minimal. She is effectively omniscient in human terms, but the only to time this ever comes into play is when she gives Hana cryptic, half-clue that are just as likely to lead her to a terrible end as to help her complete her task- or, even more likely do both simultaneously. She apparently has limited control over time; that is, she can essentially fling Hana about existence at her whim.

Weakness:
She can only influence the world in limited terms through Hana's "lifeline"; she never uses her own power and her might in the world is restricted to the limits of Hana's abilities. Contacting her is also limited to calls; even if she knows what danger or destruction is going to harm Hana, she won't interfere until the whole process of contacting her is done- no shot cuts can be made, even if Hana is a few seconds from destruction.

History:
The Lady in Pink is a bizzare, inscrutable creature, playing with the world in the strangest ways possible. All actions have a reaction, but what she is actually trying to do is on such a macro scale none of the pieces of the puzzle caused by her actions will never fit. Due to chance, she chose Hana as her "chosen", sending her on a plethora of tasks with apparently no connection to each other.

Personality:
Cheerful and gregarious, she seems to be the model of a nice, even beneficent person; except everything she does seems to be a crude imitation of human personality. She engages in small talk in bizarrely inappropriate times, and her deameanor never changes, irregardless of how cruel, impossible, trivial, or sadistic the tasks she sends Hana to accomplish are.

Appearance:
If she ever appears in front of mortals, she is a tall woman with sensible cut blond hair and sharp attractive features. She never stops smiling; almost as if the world is funny to her, a giant cosmic joke for her to play with. She wears a business coat and a knee high dress that is a shocking shade of pink.

Appearance:

Name: Aiden "The Hellraiser"

I plan to launch the IC thread some time tomorrow.

Ah damn. I'm assuming it's too late to join up?

Pheonix has to deal with the van real quick, but he says that it's not too late to join up. Just make a profile and you're set.

Yeah you are free to join the RP still if you want. This RP will remain open to new players indefinately.

Cool! Then I'll reserve this spot; I have to go back to work for a bit :/

Okay, here's my character. ((fixed))

Name:
Hana Carter

Name: Dargaianor ("Gaian" for short)

Age:
She's never really kept track of it since she's immortal and has been around since the start of the war, but she looks about 27.

Race/Species:
god/dragon halfbreed.

Occupation:
Hell's gatekeeper and hunter of escaped demons.

Powers/Abilities:
Her main ability is to use powers of darkness/ darkness energy which can be formed in many ways (such as tentacles to grab at her enemies or open portals to get into hell and back, or other places). She can also shift into forms of animals for travelling or spying on targets, the animals will usually appear jet black with the same colour eyes. Being half dragon she can change into a dragon-beast to fight the really big demons if need be, otherwise she rarely uses this form. This also grants her wings in her normal form, and some minor abilities in magic (like detecting what kind was used or making a small fire, etc.). As a defence she has an awareness around her that can see/smell/feel/hear all at the same time, so surprising her while having her awareness out is not very possible.
The other use for the darkness energy is defensive, as a shield to any elemental magic or physical attacks. Of course, the more she uses this in a battle, the less effective it becomes - this is due to her being a halfbreed and not being as powerful as her predecessor.
Being hell's gatekeeper she can call forth hellish creatures to aid her in tracking demons or sometimes fighting them (again she rarely does this as she feels more inclined to take care of the business herself.)

Weapons:
A sword that can change into an axe, bow or dagger. She uses this weapon to strike demons and suck their very souls and essence out and send them back to hell. Again due to her halfbreed aspect she has to strike a demon in the heart dead-on to accomplish this. Other strikes will draw at their powers, but with enough time (and if the demon gets away) it can regenerate that lost power.

Weaknesses:
When in her travelling form she is very vulnerable to attacks. The darkness energy, while very powerful, takes a lot of mana/energy and because she's not a true god she can't use it for too long in a battle, unless she paces herself. Also, she has twin sons and if something were to happen to them she would be devastated, even broken. Don't think it will be easy to try and hurt them tough, you'll unleash hell upon yourself. She keeps them a secret.

History:
Gaian was an accident. Her mother, the dragon had lost her immortality and in trying to get "close enough" to Death to steal some of his she had fallen pregnant. This broke a very delicate cycle in the way Death and his brother's lives were intertwined. Death's role as a god was to keep the souls of humans in check (much like an admin role) and his brother's role was the gatekeeper of hell. Death would have twin sons, one of which would take his role and the other would take his brother's. This would repeat once their life cycles were done and they would be born again in the same roles. Because of Gaian being born, Death only had one son and Gaian would be stuck being the gatekeeper of hell until eternity. Thankfully the war had been won against evil before it was her time to take on the responsibility and before his time had ended her predecessor had taught her all that he could before ceasing to exist.
When her sons were born she vowed to raise them to be good, not wanting them to get mixed up in the world or evil and had them hidden as best she could until they were able to take care of themselves.

Personality:
She takes her job very seriously and her features and expression shows this. She's not one for jokes, but some banter might pop out every now and then. The only time she would show any form of kindness or emotion is with her sons. When it comes to fighting she does not rely on tricks and often (if not always) proves herself as a worthy adversary. What she lacks in power she makes up for in persistence.

Appearance:
To demons, scary. To normal people, creepy. She has black hair with silver streaks and grey (almost glowing) eyes. From all the many years working as the gatekeeper of hell she's started long ago to almost look like one of its' residents. Her features are mostly human, but with demon and dragon thrown in: clawed hands and feet, strong cheekbones and hard eyes. Spikes adorn her lower arms and back all the way down to her tail. Thin scales cover most of her body but most of it is hidden beneath armour. Due to her usage of the dark energies it now flows through her veins and this gives her skin a very strange colour, not to mention the black lines where the veins are closer to the skin's surface.
As for her armour and clothing, this is also impressive and apart from protecting her as armour should it also serves to intimidate and even scare her enemies. She doesn't like anything bulky and not all of the armour is metal. For better movement, leather is used along with the metal and she uses darkness energy to cover the weaker places. Her helm is made to look like that of a dragon's head with seven horns on each side.
To round it all off she has a cloak which consists of true darkness energy, as a normal cloak is sure to get snagged in a battle.
Appearance as dragon-beast: http://darkdragon774.deviantart.com/art/Dragon-Beast-51564762

Name: Joenian and Quain

Age:
21

Race/Species:
god/dragon halfbreed.

Occupation:
Potion and spell makers; enchanters .

Powers/Abilities:
They have a strong mental bond with each other, up to the point where if one twin is hurt the other will also bear the scar and whatever one twin learns or experiences, so does the other (this effect is weaker the further they are apart). Like their mother they are able to shapeshift and they have magical affinity. This affinity doesn't cover anything offensive however. Thanks to their training by the dragons they can tell you just about anything there is to know about magic and thus they are very skilled in enchanting weapons or creating protective rune spells or potions. Like their mother they can sense when magic is (or was) near but can't cast anything impressive.

Weapons:
Despite them being identical twins and exactly the same, Joe prefers bow & arrows and Quain prefers blades. If it comes down to fighting without weapons they can use their claws and tail. Also like their mother they can change into a dragon-beast but their forms are much smaller.

Weaknesses:
Each other. If one twin were to die it would leave a great void in the other and his powers would be halved. They're not as strong as their mother and do not have the same fighting skills.

History:
As babies their mother had taken them to an old dragon friend who raised them to be good and just. They spent most of their childhood amongst dragons and never came into contact with anything evil. Their mother would visit them whenever she could and even with the little attention she could spare them they still grew very fond of her. When they were of age they set forth to make their own living and see the world.

Personality:
Unlike their mother they are very friendly, enjoy a good laugh and have a very sunny disposition. True to their good nature they enjoy helping others and will always defend an innocent.

Appearance:
Mostly human, but with a few dragon-like features. This includes claws and a tail much like their mother but they can hide it with their shapeshifting ability. Their eyes are a bright blue and they have brown-red hair with golden streaks (which happen to be real gold but no one knows this). Their clothing include gloves, pocketed trousers and weathered boots. They always carry satchels with them in case they find something interesting to pick up.

((let me know if anything needs to be changed. I'll get some refsheets up as soon as I've made them))
