The Centennial War

Deacon was relieved when the man appeared; he could stop making a fool of himself now. But the Butler's manner of greeting felt off to Deacon. It was a rather mean way to speak of someone, but perhaps the two were just close. He almost felt like he was interrupting a private moment now.

"Deacon Greer, and I assure you that I'm the only one being bothersome," he replied as Arthur handed Elysia her drink. Again, he felt out of place; the Butler's actions spoke of an intimacy with his charge that pushed Deacon away. But at the same time, he couldn't tell if the girl liked or disliked the teasing. "Miss Storm was kind enough to keep me company despite my foul mood. You have my thanks, but perhaps it is time I was moving on." Deacon pushed himself to his feet so he could meet Arthur eye-to-eye, though only because Deacon had a little help from being higher up the hill.

---
Grace followed Sephira to the entrance to see who was outside--and to make sure Sephira wasn't going to collapse from her recent injuries. Even with the magical help, the healer had said she should rest. "I think the guy with the scythe is a Brigadier. You know the other one?" she whispered across the opening. She'd seen the scythe boy yesterday in camp, but he was stand-offish. Like right now: the person who introduced himself as Kyy offered to help, but Sebastian was standing defensive and wary. He was suspicious of Kyy. Maybe paranoid would be a better word. But a brief glance back at Sephira made her wonder if it was really wrong to distrust someone she'd never met.

Elysia lowered her drink.
-"Not so much bothersome but more like entertaining It's refreshing to hear a new voice once in a while."
She stood up slowly and corrected her clothes.
-"I have a great idea. Don't you have many other tasks to do today Arthur? Perhaps Deacon here can escort me for a while as i talk a walk and you can safely return to your duties of higher importance. If deacon doesn't mind that is"

Arthur who of course disliked the idea started protesting but was interupted by Elysia raising a finger and pointing at Deacon.
-"I finished that sentence with a question aimed at him not you so let him speak up first okay manners boy i remember a few old teachings about that a certain old man screamed at you many years ago"

This might acctualy turn into a good day after all now to hope this little ploy worked and she could get rid of Arthur for a while and she would be set!

She definitely disliked it, Deacon decided. She'd fought back rather viciously, but Arthur had earned some retribution. "It would be my pleasure, Miss Storm," he answered with a small bow. He felt foolish immediately afterward, for she couldn't see the bow. But her hearing seemed to be exceptional, so perhaps she had caught his intent. He straightened and offered his arm that he might escort her wherever she intended to go, mimicking the snapping Arthur had used to let her know where his hand was.

Deacons response was perfect. Though the snapping of his fingers was a bit humourous it was not really how it worked. But she let it slide after all it was funny to be with a new person that wasn't used to how her blindness and abilites worked. She looked in Arthurs direction with a cat like smirk.
-"see no problem arthur i will be well safe and home before dark" she said and accepted Deacons arm

The man corrected his suit and sighed. -
" Very well. in that case. Deacon i now leave you with the prized daughter of the owner to the Clear sky enterprize. Keep her safe. A lot of important people are expecting her return before four pm "
He locked eyes with Deacon showing that this was dead serious and no joke.

Elysias face showed that this was information she would have rather left unspoken.
-"geez you are such a fun killer come on Deacon we are leaving"

Sephira continued looking at the two men before soon being joined by her friend. She paid little to no mind that she may have been concerned for her, since she could barely walk on her own without collapsing over.

"I think the guy with the scythe is a Brigadier. You know the other one?" she whispered across the opening.

Sephira nodded to the other and whispered in return,"The one with the dark pink hair is my faction partner."

Sephira continued to look at the two men. Kyy's pockets appeared to be empty besides his usual belongings. Strange. And the other was wary of Kyy's offer to help him. Her silver eyes examined the bluish black haired boy. She spotted out the injury on one shoulder and the very large scythe on the other, right away she knew he was a weapon user. But did he use magic as well? The purple haired girl wouldn't be able to figure it out until she saw him fight.

"Excuse me.." She called out to the one with bluish black haired boy,"Please don't hurt my faction partner, he won't hurt you."

Sebastian felt the pain pulsing through and spreading all over his shoulder. The silence was slowly pissing off Sebastian. "Tch.." He glared down Kyy as he felt ignored.

"Excuse me.. Please don't hurt my faction partner, he won't hurt you." Came from the tent to his left. The voice sounded quite muffled but he knew it was a female. "Don't do anything funny, I've got my eyes on you." He slowly turned to his left still keeping his eyes on Kyy and started making his way towards the tent. "Now.. can you tell me.. " He stopped in front of the tent and moved away the tent flap. ".. what are you doing here?" He looked away from Kyy as he stepped.

Inside was a pale skinned girl with large silver eyes that really stood out and a jewel on her forehead, but it was really her thigh-high hair. Next to her was a rather familiar face. 'Did I already meet her somewhere.. ?' Crossed his mind only to be quickly cut off by another wave of pain that made him squeeze his teeth. "Also.. are you alright?" He examined her face carefully and could notice a couple of cuts and bruises that seemed fresh.

Sephira could see the anger radiating off of Sebastian at Kyy's silence. Kyy really wasn't a bad individual, he really wasn't, and she hoped Sebastian wouldn't try to cut him apart with that scythe of his.

"Don't do anything funny, I've got my eyes on you."

Oh no.

The purple haired girl watched as the other kept his eyes on Kyy. He turned his body as he did so, and from where Sephira was standing, she caught sight of the wound on his shoulder. She inwardly cringed at the sight of it, it appeared disgusting and made her own shoulder sting just by the sight. The bluish black haired man began trudging his way towards the tent occupied by the performer and the other. As he got closer and closer, Sephira stepped away from the tent entrance. It was to make room in case the other wanted to come inside or look in without coming directly face to face with her. She went over and stood next to the bed, using the edge as support so she wouldn't cause more stress on her muscles than needed.

"Now.. can you tell me.. " She saw one hand grip the tent flap and push it aside, his head and body now visible, ".. what are you doing here?"

The other man looked within and the silver eyed girl could feel him studying her appearance. Although it was a little uncomfortable to be under a gaze as icy as his, she appeared unfazed. Her keen eyes caught his jaw clenching together rather tightly, most likely the wound on his shoulder causing some pain.

"Also.. are you alright?"

Sephira's eyes widened a bit from his question. Did he just ask her if she was alright rather than him asking them for medical assistance, or perhaps the directions he had requested out loud not too long ago? In all honesty, she was touched by his this. Looking back to her life growing up, the words "Are you alright" was never aimed directly at her unless an insult soon followed. She wanted to admit to the other that she wasn't alright, but it would only add concern and unneeded attention. If anything, he was the one who required attention more than her at the moment.

"I think the real question is are you alright? That shoulder doesn't look too good..."

Kyy nods and puts his hands up. "If you wanted to harm me you would have already, I'm sure. I was just passing by looking for some ladies to get numbers from when I saw you. Just trying to help. But if you want to attack me, I won't stop you. Though..." Kyy smirks. "The magics I sense on that weapon of yours might help you out anyway, am I right?"

Sebastian could hear a muffled voice outside the tent but he couldn't really piece the words together. "That silent bastard." He frowned and looked back squeezing his grip on his scythe. "Maybe I ought to go out there and teach him a lesson." He turned around, furiously stepping towards the exit. Just as he was about to open the tent flap he heard a soft whimper. He turned around and looked at the pale girl and smiled, trying to calm himself down. "I was only joking.. eheh.." He rubbed the back of his head feeling slightly embarrassed, or only acting do be so.

That whimper instantly made him regret of ever threatening the guy as it was easily the cutest thing he ever heard. "Here.. I'll even put down my weapon if you don't trust me." Sebastian smiled and threw down the weapon on the ground. As it was a bit large in size and somewhat heavy, it made quite a rough sound as it hit the ground which was followed up by a slight tremor. He gripped the scythe not letting it fall over and looked over at the girl.

"I think the real question is are you alright? That shoulder doesn't look too good..."

Sebastian couldn't help but smile at the girls concern. "You're kind.. I appreciate that but.. you look like you need some help too. If you can point me to the nearest medical tent, I'll take you along." Sebastian could tell she got into a fight and probably got beat down pretty good. But why would anybody want to hurt somebody that was this calm and caring? He gazed into her large silver eyes, they were truly mesmerizing.

(How the hell did I dislike your post Kyy? SO SORRY, I must've misclicked on it whilst changing tabs! I didn't mean to, so so so sorry!)

Deacon let Elysia lead him away. He made sure that Arthur was left well behind before he released a small chuckle. "Clear Sky Enterprises, huh?" he said, not able to contain the smile on his face. It was a well-known company. "I didn't realize the Clear Sky was run by a Storm." It was a lame joke, and one that she had almost certainly heard a thousand times before. But the mood needed lightened and it was the best he could manage on short notice.

---
Looking from the boy to the girl, Grace had the distinct impression she was in a different world than they were. She almost hated to interrupt the scene, but it was obvious that there was a need.

"Sit down on the bed. You're from the Star Brigade, right? I'm a teammate. Here let me check that arm." Grace hustled him to the bed and sat him down. "This is going to hurt a little," she warned him. She started feeling around the bruised shoulder. After a few moments she grimaced. "Well, the good news is it isn't broken; it's only dislocated. The bad news is that this is going to hurt a lot. Bite down." Grace twisted his arm around and pressed hard. It took a few brief moments, but the ball settled back into its socket.

Sephira heard what sounded like Kyy's voice, her keen ears heard muffles but was able to make out the words he said.

'He really has quite the audacity to speak to this stranger like that..' Sephira thought to herself, but that was just like Kyysucara to challenge those who try to threaten him.

"That silent bastard."

Sephira stepped out of her thoughts and looked at the man who had stepped within the tent, looking at him questioningly. The frown on the man's face and the way he gripped the scythe spelled trouble, the purple haired girl did not like the look of this.

"Maybe I ought to go out there and teach him a lesson."

The stranger turned on his heel and was making furious, heavy steps as though he was going to commit murder. Silver eyes widened at this, if he went out there no telling there would be a fight. The two had just met, and Sephira did not want them to be at each other's throats. She tried to speak to stop the other from going out there, but it came out as a pathetic whimper. She blinked a few times at herself, what in the world was that? The whimper, however, was successful in making the other stop. He turned around and looked at her, rubbing the back of his head in an embarrassed manner.

"I was only joking.. eheh..Here.. I'll even put down my weapon if you don't trust me."

The actions of the other confirmed his statement, for he put down the scythe. The scythe appeared to have the weight as any other scythe, but the way the ground trembled beneath her feet proved differently. The scythe was most likely one of those enchanted weapons, the huge weight difference was the price to pay but the enhancement from the magic made the weapon incredible. Unfortunately, Sephira was too clumsy to handle a weapon, so magic was her only power. After he balanced the scythe he looked over to her.

"I think the real question is are you alright? That shoulder doesn't look too good..."

And it was the truth, the wound on his shoulder did require some attention. Just looking at the mess that was the wound made Sephira inwardly cringe.

The stranger smiled at her,"You're kind.. I appreciate that but.. you look like you need some help too. If you can point me to the nearest medical tent, I'll take you along."

Sephira felt a bit embarrassed, she had just arrived and was taken to Grace's tent, so she had no idea where the nearest medical tent was. The boy's kindness was something different. Sure Kyy was kind to her, the kindness Grace had showed was comparable, but there was something different within the stranger's kindness, something she could not point out.

"Sit down on the bed. You're from the Star Brigade, right? I'm a teammate. Here let me check that arm." The performer hustled him to the bed and sat him down. Sephira moved so she would not be in the way.

"This is going to hurt a little," she warned him.

The green haired girl started feeling around the bruised shoulder, her fingers pressing down on the other's shoulder. After a few moments Sephira could see the other grimace.

"Well, the good news is it isn't broken; it's only dislocated. The bad news is that this is going to hurt a lot. Bite down."

Grace twisted his arm around and pressed hard. It took a few brief moments, but the ball settled back into its socket. Sephira felt her stomach churn, she had turned from the sight of what Grace was doing to the other's arm.

Kyy enters the tent. "You okay Seph?" He looks to Sebastian. "Sorry if I came off as rude. I just get a bit excited when someone threatens me."

A voice can be heard in the air, created through magic. "Ten minutes until the first round. One on one fights. Opponents will be announced at time of arrival."

Kyy sighs. "Guess we should hurry up."

"Sit down on the bed. You're from the Star Brigade, right? I'm a teammate. Here let me check that arm." Sebastian smiled and looked down at the girl forcing him to the bed. He slowly sat down and looked up at her. "Uhm.. are you sure you know what you are doing?" He didn't feel her hand touching his shoulder cause it was quite swollen. The look on her face worried Sebastian for a second - was the injury that bad? He squeezed his teeth and left out a small pain caused moan when she touched the area that was hurting and throbbing the must.

"Well, the good news is it isn't broken; it's only dislocated. The bad news is that this is going to hurt a lot. Bite down." His eyes shot wide open as he tried moving her hand away. "Wait, what are you doing?! Maybe its better if..!" Sebastian tried protesting but she proceeded on with pushing the ball back into place. He felt a sharp fierce pain as she pushed down forcefully onto his shoulder. "Angh!" He let out a moan and tried to struggle as little as possible so that she could get the job done. Quickly after he could hear the bone slipping back into its original position. He looked up at her gasping heavily, as the pain slowly lingered but still was there.

"T.. thanks.." he murmured out and moved his other hand across his shoulder. It still felt quite sore and probably needed some ice to reduce the swelling. He sat there huffing as the tent flap opened up. He glanced up and gritted his teeth angrily at the sight of Kyy. Although really the guy did nothing wrong to Sebastian he felt like he was an enemy.

"Whatever.." Sebastian squeezed out through his teeth. Right around that time the announcer sounded himself off.

"Ten minutes until the first round. One on one fights. Opponents will be announced at time of arrival."

'Thats bad.. I'll be handicapped in a fight with this shoulder.' Thought Sebastian. 'I cant complain now.. I made it this far.' He slowly lifted himself off from the bed and went over to pick up his scythe. He went past the girl and grabbed his scythe. Slowly he turned around and gazed into her eyes once more. "I didn't introduce myself.. excuse my manners. I am Sebastian Nal." He put his hand out, wanting to perform a handshake. He looked over to the green haired girl and shot her a smile. "I cant thank you enough times, I'll find a way to repay you." 'Even though that hurt like hell you bastard.' He thought to himself. Sebastian wasn't really a mean person he'd make himself out to be, he was only cautious enough not to trust everyone he meets. Sebastian looked back to the girl in front and smiled.

Sephira had not bothered turning around at all during the process. The sounds of the dislocated joint popping back into place was enough to make her stomach churn. Thankfully, she held back the gags, and soon the process was over.

"T.. thanks.." She heard the other murmur, she turned to look at him again, seeing him holding his shoulder.

She never wanted to dislocate her shoulder after this, ever.

When Kyy had entered the tent, the look of annoyance, and probably disgust was evident on the stranger's face.

"You okay Seph?"
Kyy asked when he saw the beaten girl first.

"Not really.." Sephira admitted truthfully, the beating she had received earlier really limited the ways she could move. Every muscle groaned in protest with her movements. But she wanted to get used to it until it began to heal on its own, sitting or lying down day and night was not on Sephira's to-do list.

"Sorry if I came off as rude. I just get a bit excited when someone threatens me." Her faction partner explained to the stranger that had threatened him, who showed a great distaste in just the dark pink haired man's presence alone.

"Whatever.." The other replied through his tightly clenched teeth.

Great.

A voice sounded through her ears, as though the very wind carried the echo, "Ten minutes until the first round. One on one fights. Opponents will be announced at time of arrival."

Silver eyes widened at what she heard. The first round would begin in ten minutes! That was not enough time to heal her sore and achy muscles! Perfect, just perfect. She would have to fight against not just her opponent, but her body's limitations as well. She only hoped her opponent wasn't a highly skilled combat master, or else every blow to her abdomen could possibly be fatal. She looked over to the stranger as he got up and walked passed her to grab his scythe. His extremely heavy, possibly able to crush her with just the handle, scythe. He slowly turned around, his icy blue eyes looking into her silver ones again, a smile soon followed.

"I didn't introduce myself.. excuse my manners. I am Sebastian Nal."

The other brought out his hand, wanting to perform a handshake in proper introduction. After he said his thanks to Grace, Sephira extended her hand and met his the rest of the way.

"S-Sephira..Sephira Authrelago.."

Sephira inwardly cringed at the sound of her own name. She hoped that 'Sebastian' had not heard her name from around the Wind users or being used as a motivation for students to not become. Her reputation was not something to be proud of after all. After the brief handshake, she took her hand back, waiting for what the other had to say or any actions.

Sebastian felt her gentle skin touching up against his. He nodded and shook her hand, using his other arm the one that was hurt. "Nice to meet you Sephira." He felt her voice being shaky while pronouncing her name, did he intimidate her possibly? He squeezed his teeth and let go of her hand as his slowly fell back to its place. 'Cant even preform a simple handshake.. this'll be a problem.' His mind was set off ease as he knew fighting with such a weak spot would give his opponent a huge advantage. 'Oh well.. who doesn't like a good challange.' He smiled again.

"Will you be able to fight in that condition?" Sebastian looked over at Sephira, examining her body. She wasn't really the combatant type that could take blows, she was rather fragile. On top of that she was hurt. "So.. what happened to you? Did you get assaulted before the tournament even began or..?" He cut himself off as he realized he got his injury in possibly the dumbest way ever.

'I'll just keep that secret to me..' He shook his head and looked at her waiting for a response..

"Nice to meet you Sephira."

Sephira blinked a few times, realizing that this man probably had no idea who she was. The purple haired girl kept her passive calmness mask on, but she inwardly frowned. When the time came to reveal her poor reputation, it was quite possible she could lose his kindness. When both hands retreated from the hand shake. She could see his jaw clench and his lips turn into a frown, but as quick as the frown came, his smile returned once more.

"Will you be able to fight in that condition?"

No.

"I will have to try.. Kyy and I did not come this far just to back out.."

What would have been the point of her and Kyy coming here if she would have to back out in the very beginning? She had trained hard to come here, just so she could have a fighting chance at beating her first opponent. Backing out now would be a future regret she was just not willing to take. She felt his eyes examine her again, but appeared unfazed. The gaze was a bit uncomfortable, but he had not done anything to harm her, so he was likely just inspecting her or something.

"So.. what happened to you? Did you get assaulted before the tournament even began or..?"

Sebastian's question stung as it triggered back the memories. It was not the first time she had felt vulnerable or useless, and it was definitely not the first time it had happened..

"I...It was a sheer act of merciless brutality.. By three prestigious and well respected men.." she replied to him.

The answer as she replied caused the tightness of sadness within her chest. The memories of taking punches after kicks after punches on the grassy floor of the forest flooded her head, but she shoved them all out. She would not tell the details for she would return to the lifeless mess she was not too long ago. She continued to gaze over at the other, rubbing the back of her neck with her left hand as her silver eyes would shift from the floor back to his icy blue ones.

"I will have to try.. Kyy and I did not come this far just to back out.."

Sebastian nodded and smiled, he suddenly grew a deep respect for her perseverance. Her head bowed down slightly as a worried look crossed her face. He must've invoked the painful memory of it happening. He felt his gut becoming heavy, seeing her like that felt heart breaking.

"I...It was a sheer act of merciless brutality.. By three prestigious and well respected men.."
Sebastian frowned angrily, clenching his scythe harder. 'Three?! ..She seems so harmless.. why would anybody want to do that to her?' He felt anger spreading through his whole body and his muscles tensing up. "Do you by any chance remember their faces?"

Sebastian looked back into her eyes deeply and smiled slightly, trying to cover up his inner anger. The last thing he would want right now is to intimidate her.

At her response, she could almost feel the anger radiating off of him. Perhaps she had said too much to the other... Then again, she would love to see one of the prestigious men receive the same beating as she had. Preferably by one of the people who cared.

"Do you by any chance remember their faces?" The man asked her.

He held a deep gaze and once again, smiled. She could see it within that he was outraged, just like Grace had been when she discovered the same thing. She was touched that they both cared about someone they had met not even 24 hours ago.

"I do.. They are Wind users, but are treated like Gods... When you see them, you'll know it's them.."

- "Hmm haven't heard a joke like that in a while." Elysia said with a soft smile before she steered them towards the area for the competition.
- "I need to stop by tent before we get to the competition if that is okay it's a bit difficult to fight in a dress" Elysia hummed brightening up as the main events where nearing.

- "hmm by the way are you going to fight? I can feel on your arm that you have practiced" she said and poked his arm muscle lightly.
- "oh right and better ask now are you star or Aldin?" She then added tilting her head to the question.

Kyy cracks his knuckles when he hears who put Sephira in her current state. "Should I get involved? Nobody hurts my sis." He saw Sephira like a sister of sorts.
