The Cascading Home for Special Children

Jessa had heard the commotion of the new arrivals from her own cage, but stayed out of site. From the sounds of things, there had been around 6 of them, which meant a lot more guards coming in and out than she wanted to see. She had been sitting quietly in the corner of her small cage since she'd been admitted early that very morning. The entire ordeal had become a bit fuzzy for her, she remembered saying goodbye to her aunt and uncle with a look of resolve and surrender. She remembered the guards roughly escorting her to this small cage. She refused to think about the horrible tests they had done, the needles and the questioning and the images. She squeezed her eyes shut quickly as the memory of the darkness invaded her thoughts. At the sudden movement, she flinched in slight pain and gently brought her fingers up to delicately poke the small crystal-like stone they had planted just below her left eye.
"I'm supposed to believe this tiny piece of face jewelry is going to stop me from seeing them?" She muttered bitterly as she heard more guards entering with a recently-tested child. She felt for them briefly, wondering if they were in as much pain as she had been. There was nothing she could do for them. She had seem some other kids, known that there were others like herself with strange powers. But those kids had useful talents, talents that could move things or control elements. All she did was see the dead, and she had no control over when or where. She poked the small stud under her eye again, secretly hoping that maybe it would stop the visions and make her better. It was with those thoughts that she dozed off.
She awoke with a start sometime later when an alarm went off, followed by a message about lunch. She stood up quickly, looking as submissive as possible as the guards came to fetch her. She followed them silently, keeping pace and behaving all the way to the double doors as they pushed her into the cafeteria. She kept her head up and face forward, looking no where and everywhere at the same time. There were more children now, all different ages and sizes and all looking equally haunted. She got in line and took her food obediently, and quickly made her way to a window seat where she would blend in with the light and not attract so much attention with her oddly luminous complexion. Pushing her food around on the plate, she watched as a boy and girl disappeared behind another set of double doors. She let her eyes glide around the room, wondering if any of the guards had seen but they weren't paying attention. Moments passed, and she watched them come back out from the doors. The girl looked slightly more frightened than when she had gone in, and there were equal parts anger and worry on the boy's face. She hadn't noticed they had caught her staring until it was too late, and though she felt the slight heat crawl to her cheeks she raised her eyebrow in what she hoped looked like disinterest and let her gaze fall to the rest of the occupants in the room.

[ Long post is long, sorry! I just figured since it had already escalated to lunch I had to play catch up in one post! ]

Matthew sighed. His parents were sending him to another place. They feared his abilities. He knew this it was obvious every time they talked to him. THey said they loved him. They said they only want the best for him. Yeah is the best for him watching his parents contemplate suicide? No. And that wasn't even the worst part they were actually smiling. THey were sending him away and they were smiling about it. He was a living weapon i guess you could say. He was actually very handsome in his opinion. He was actually very nice swell. after his parents signed the paper and walked out guard ran straight to him. He had a black sword appear in his hands. He cut down quite a few of them. Until a metal bind was clamped over his eyes. IT shield off his sense of sight accurately. So at first he didn not hear the man that came and battered him with a night stick. He was clamped in a lo of iron chains and had two clamps on his ankles that were carrying lead balls. They had rifles aimed to him as they made him stand up and drag the led balls all the way to the cell. They quickly picked pup the pother guard and brought them to an infirmary. As he sat down in his cell his blindfold of metal fell off and a beautiful yellow and silver in his eyes took place.

Izoi jumped a bit in fear at the loud growl and the fact that he had shaken her off. She shivered lightly, glad that he snapped out of it and took her back to the cafeteria. She then notice a girl staring at them, holding his hand tightly. "Thank you..." She softly sighed as she walked back to the table, sitting in their spots beside the girl and looking to her shyly. She then looked away, closing her eyes and taking in deep breaths to calm herself.

I sat eating alone the led balls were off now. but the shackles were still on and for some reason they felt like they were still carrying the led balls. His shackles were done in a fashion some could just grab a plate and eat. Red laser dots were aimed at him constantly. Since he came here he has almost escaped three times. He took out a few guards as well. Honestly. Just because he was young doesn't mean he wasn't strong does it? He looked around. There were many different people. A girl with wings and some dude were holding hands. Ah to be young and in love. He had heard that from a television show once. He found it pretty funny in his opinion. Love. He didn't believe in love. He was not even shown it by his own parents. So of course he never knew even the meaning of love. One thing though. He did know kindness. And he did know caring. He showed those a few times. But he rarely ever spoke. In a way he was the perfect child. Seen and not heard. He was curious though he knew his turn was coming up to be tested. He so badly wanted to leave. THe only reason he didn't run away from his parents is for some reason. He still had wanted to protect them.

He looked around. His eyes were still their lovely mixture of yellow and silver. He finished eating quickly and returned the plate. The food was gross but it was better than nothing. He walked to his cage only to be cut for a loop with a night stick and dragged to be tested. He wasn't bothered by it. He had hope. Hope no matter what. And one day he would get out of here. He just knew it. He would follow his dreams and live a happy life once he got out of here.

Jessa continued to play with her food, the taste so horrible she couldn't bare another after the first bite. She wondered briefly if this was how she was going to spend the rest of her days, playing with disgusting cafeteria food until she withered away. She was taken from her thoughts when the pair who had come out from the other double doors joined her at the window table. She regarded the two curiously, taking in their linked hands and the protective way the boy seemed to hover the much more delicate girl. She cleared her throat awkwardly, embarrassed for having stared so long. "You guys should be more careful, you were lucky the guards were otherwise distracted while you played your little spying game. It was reckless of you, especially in this place." She murmured quietly, only a slight hint of lecture in her words. She'd seen what these guards could do, and she certainly didn't want to be present when they decided to teach these two a lesson. "I'm Jessa, by the way. What are your names?" She figured she might as well get to know a few people, at least to have some social interaction during these meal breaks.
Her eyes trailed away from the pair in front of her to a flash of yellow that caught her eye. She gave her attention to the boy, regarding him in a calculating manner. He was surveying the room much like she had been when she'd first come in, and stopped at the two lovers seated just adjacent to herself. He didn't stay long, simply to eat and then he walked back off in the direction of the cages. His eyes were bright and almost glowing, much like her own left eye when she had her visions. She couldn't help but wonder if maybe he had a similar talent to her own, or if his eyes were simply that color and he had some other more useful talent.

Brock's muscles were rippling. The hand that was on the table was a clenched fist now. He was breathing heavily and growling every few breaths. Brock was now wondering was freakish substance was in that shot. He saw a cup of water and tried to control it so it could flow into his mouth. He needed a drink. But all the times he tried he couldn't get it to move. He looked down at his hands and noticed the elemental canceling rings were still on. He growled even louder and started shaking a little. His eyes turned a different color. He looked down at the table clenching his jaw, then the minute he looked at Izoi's beautiful, yet worried face, he started to settle down. He took deep breaths. He looked around and noticed a few were staring. Something was in that shot and he wanted to know what it was.

Jessa watched the strange boy's muscles pulse under his skin, making his whole body tense and his breath come out in growls. She wasn't afraid, she hadn't been afraid of something for a long time. She'd seen all the terror the world had to offer every time she closed her eyes at night. Watching as poor souls were brutally murdered as if on a never-ending reel...or watching as a helpless child fell to their death with no one to save them. She flinched at the memories, feeling the mental pull. They were trying so hard to invade her mind, to show her their bitter endings and beg for her to just help this once, just once. While the boy and winged girl seemed lost in their own troubles, Jessa hadn't noticed how the wind had blown the clouds over the sun. The window no longer provided her an oasis from her luminous skin and hair. She stood quickly, messily pulling her hair into a quick braid as she left the cafeteria as calmly as she could. She couldn't avoid the wandering stares forever, and the questions would come eventually. But for now, she just wanted to escape back to her cage and wait the dark out until it was bright again, and no one could judge her strange appearance.

She watched in surprise as Brock tensed up yet again, gripping his hand tightly in her own effort to calm him. She looked to the girl and softly smiled, whispering. "I know it was risky..... but I had to go with him." She softly sighed, looking to Brock as the girl left the cafeteria. She rubbed his arm a bit as his muscles rippled, holding a smile. She jumped in shock once his growl got louder and he started shaking, gripping his hand in between both of hers. She gulped and smiled once he looked to her and calmed down. "Are you okay? You're acting a bit weird..."

He was barely breathing. The clamps on his eyes were thicker than before. He had assault rifles aimed at him at all times. He had so many cuffs he could barely stand. The led balls were back and bigger then ever. They determined him, Deadly. Un emotional and deadly. They didn't want him to escape. They didn't want him to even move in the direction of the door. He sat down in the cell and coughed. He had losses a lot of blood. He had a few bullet holes in him. He had deep cut wounds and covered in blood. He just sat there. He was actually kind of terrified. Every time he felt something touch him he jumped. They kept his metal blindfold on. He could not stand but he sat down and soon became calm. He smiled. He held out his hand and a blade came out of his hand. It grew very long. The another blade came out through the blade. The blade was outside the cell. The blade again made two more and he hooked the handle. He pulled up And he was visibly struck by lightning. He shouted in pain. He was smoking when it was done and he fell down to the ground the swords shattered and vaporized. he was barely breathing and some of the shackles had fallen off.

"No no....I'm..I'm fine," he said to Izoi. He watched as two guards walked in looking straight at him. They signaled him to come over. I looked at Izoi and smiled. "I'll be right back. It'll be okay." He walked over to the guards slowly. He saw another cup of water and immediately tried to manipulate it...there was no hope. The element restrictors were on him for too long. His powers were fading. But little did he know that something else was going on in his DNA. That's what the guards needed him for. He arrived up in front of them. "What the hell do you bastards want?" Brock said with a sarcastic smile. One guard made a smirk and the next thing he knew he was on the ground with throbbing pain in the back of his head. All he remembers is a voice yelling that sounded like him, and a voice yelling that sounded like someone else. He remembers growing, and looking different. His muscles huger than ever. He felt like he could do anything. He was over powerful. Then one guard smiled widely. "It worked! We got him." one guard said. Then Brock started feeling a pain in his side and next thing he knew he was unconscious. Last thing he remembered was how he hit the ground. He made a big crash. He never made that big of a crash before. His skin was green, he was freakishly huge. He didn't know where this came from or how this happened. But he did remember waking up in the testing room back in his normal skin. He was so confused. But he was ready to get tested on once again.

Matthew inly heard the things that were going on. He shivered. He heard the sound of a giant crashing. He did not move. His hands were clenched though. He felt helplesss.

Izoi was a bit confused at what she saw take fold. All Brock had said to her was "I'll be back." and then walked to the guards. Then the guards did something and he started changing into something green and powerful-looking. She took in deep breaths, watching with wide eyes as things were destroyed and then he was knocked out by the guards. She stood, quickly running towards him in a panic. She was grabbed by a guard though and was restrained, her squirming and struggling to escape the guard's grip. The next thing she knew was darkness.

Izoi woke up with the feeling of being light and being poked in several places. She slowly opened her eyes, realizing she was now in a tank filled with green fluid. She had several needles attached to her and a breathing mask over her mouth. She looked around the room she was in, unable to panic due to one of the needles feeding something into her system.

Brock screamed loud. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!!!" a needle was drawing blood from his spine. He didn't feel the full pain until he was fully awake. His eyes widened, and the pain kept him from breathing. He started struggling and tugging. He was puzzled on how he didn't turn into the green monster yet. The needle came out and he immediately screamed. He tugged at the leather chain straps that were keeping him restrained. During all this he couldn't help but think about the girl he was starting to fall for. Izoi. Was she okay?

Izoi flinched a bit when she heard a sudden yell behind her, though she wasn't able to turn around. The voice was warped through the liquid, so she couldn't recognize it as Brock. She lazily looked to each side, hoping to catch a glimpse of the yeller. She was in a simple white dress in the liquid, something that covered her but didn't block the needles all over her arms. She spoke quietly through the breathing mask. "Not so loud..."

Brock tried to look forward and the minute he did his head was automatically yanked back down. He did get a glimpse of what looked like a tank, and he noticed a wings. "Izoi!" he yelled! Brock started to tug even harder. Something else was being injected into his leg. His muscles started tensing a rippling again. "P-please let me go...I-I need to s-see her...IS SHE OKAY???" he was scared but the monster was the one who was speaking. The other monster and Brock shared the mind. His voice sounder scarier and it was more in a roar. "LET ME SEE HER!!!!"

Izoi softly smiled when she heard her name being called, her wings opening slightly since they were out of the bindings. "Hello?" She closed her eyes as he began asking to see her, even as his voice changed into a loud yell. She softly sighed. "I'm perfectly fine. Just a little frazzled, is all..."

Brock settle down a little as he heard her say she was okay. "O-okay," he said. Whatever was in him gave him horrible anger problems. 'I wish I knew what they put in me,' he thought to himself. He still smiled knowing that Izoi was okay.

Izoi flinched a bit as she felt blood starting to be drawn from her arms and wings, a small gasp escaping her lips. She closed her eyes, tilting her head upwards and biting her lip as she tried to resist the pain.

After the needle was taken out of his leg another two were immediately inserted into both sides of his neck. He started yanking at his chains again. His heart started beating faster. He started feeling weaker due to whatever they were putting in him. He started to close his eyes and drift off to sleep.

Izoi softly sighed as the needles stopped drawing blood, trying to turn and look at Brock. "I wanna go home..." She looked to a scientist who was looking at Izoi's skeletal system on a screen across the room She tilted her head a bit. "I have such thin bones..."
