The sky was dark and the air was cool. The group had arrived late last night, and Faira had sent them to bed in the large bunkroom she had set up with the help of magic. She had been too drained to set everything up past that, and she slept alongside everyone that night. Even though she had been tired, she awoke early as usual and was left sitting on a patch of green grass as she stared in the dark sky. Orange and pink started stretching from the horizon, and her eyes adjusted to the rays of gold now painted across the dark sky. It was the calmest time of the day and she enjoyed it immensely.

She waited until the sun was fully out before she started setting up the rides and whatnot. She used her bare foot to make a pattern in a patch of soft dirt. Her white nightdress billowed around her as she drew, and she didn't even pause to think about it when she dropped on the dirt and closed her eyes. She murmured a simple fixing spell that she had changed around a bit so it was more of a "setting up" spell. Gold filled the lines of the drawing in some substance that wasn't a solid, liquid or even a gas. The particles she had made and shot out in lines away from her and spread across the area. The giant trucks that carried ride parts and booth stands opened and the contents came out, hovering as they were wrapped in golden strands. Every part had a certain place that it drifted to and started attaching itself to its fellow parts. The process took a little over five minutes, and soon Faira was looking at the place she had called home for as long as she had known. She got up and brushed dirt off of her nightdress before gazing around and began putting the wards against bad intent. Only magical creatures would be able to see them. They hung around the carnival site like silvery webs. She weaved in yellow and green strands that gave off emotional auras, like happiness and excitement. She took care in everything she did, and it made her truly happy. It still wasn't enough to distract her from the growing worry she had on her consciousness. Evil was spreading, and she didn't know when it would strike or what exactly it was. She was stabbing in the dark these days. However, she needed her friends not worried, and she returned to the large bunkhouse with a cheerful smile. She flicked her hands and the curtains flew open and sun splayed on their faces.
"We have a busy day!" Faira said, nearly laughing at their grumpy faces that never failed to entertain her,

"We're taking Seattle by storm like we always do. Now, what do you guys want for breakfast?"

[/bg]

Anya jumps from her bunk bed, hitting whoever on a bed behind her as she hisses towards the sunlight. Not that she burns in the sun, it just somewhat annoying. And that night time is more fitting for her to do mischief, no one would see her transforming while the night brings its shroud of mystery.

After blinking a few times from the sunlight, Anya gives her morning grins to Faira and walk forward. Every slacker that still asleep, she tickles their toes or pulls their blanket with giggles. She got a few curses with that and a leg that tries to kick her face, which she evades from, still giggling. When she arrives at the entrance, she smiles at Faira and gestures a bow fit for a queen before grinning mischievously.

"I would love a scrambled pancake, jalapeno egg, and caramel apple bacon please," Anya requests, she deliberately shuffles the words and want to see how Faira react off it today. This one prank is like a routine for Anya, of asking an elaborate breakfast then shuffles the word. She does not actually care what breakfast she will get, she only cares of the reaction.

Not wanting to be pushed by others, Anya moves out of the entrance, jumping outside and run around laughing between booths. It looks like that she is just having fun but as Anya run around the whole carnival, she checks the wards Faira places. Not that she is not trusting of the ringleader, Faira seems to never fail the job, but Anya felt compelled to check regardless and let the ringleader knows that again, she does a good job. By the time everyone sits down for breakfast, Anya will come back and see who going to scold her today for her bed mischief.

Gareth twitched in his sleep, he was dreaming about something. And judging by the stupid look on his face it was probably a good dream. Was being the key word, because soon a beam of light was shining on his face and something was tickling his bare feet. Kicking at the something to get rid of it, probably that Anya if he had to guess, he rolls onto his back and covers his eye with an arm, groaning as he did so. He was never a morning person, especially when someone woke him up. He was woken up daily at 4 in the morning for the past 200 some odd years, and when he finally had the chance sleep to his hearts content he was rudely woken up.

After a brief minute of gathering his strength, he ungracefully rolls off the bed and onto his feet. "Syrup." he grumbled, wanting the sugary liquid just to get some energy in him. "And pancakes." he added after a second, wanting some actual fuel to go with it. Syrup was good and all, but it didn't necessarily fill you up. And if it did he doubted it'd stay for long.

◊Fleur Valentina◊
'Remember who you are..' The voices swirled inside Fleurs mind. Her heart was racing, the most daring attempt at her trapeze act yet. Over 70 feet in the air, Fleur balanced delicately on the small board that separated her from the ground below. Oddly enough, she had refused the net, saying it was for amateurs and she had no intention of failing. Her palms began to form beads of sweat and her heart was pounding in her ears. She took a deep breath in and closed her eyes before she bounced once and then leaped into the air. Reaching up to hold the swinging bar she exhaled and swung her small body through the air. The crowd roared beneath her and flashing lights were spinning all around her. Fleur soared through the air, attempting to complete 4 back tucks and catching the bar on the other side. She released the bar and began to push her body back, the crowd was counting for her. 1! She was doing it! 2! Wow she was actually doing it! 3! She's almost done it! Just as she began to push her 4 flip, the flashing lights became to bright and Fleur was blinded.

Startled awake Fleur was panting softly before she released it had all been just a dream. "Ugggghhhhh can't we ever just sleep in for once!" She moaned as she pulled the blanket over herself again. Leaving her foot exposed, she should have known better. The annoyance had begun. "All I wanted was some god dang sleep!" She complained. Sitting up in a grumpy manner she ran her fingers though her blonde locks before pulling them all up into a tight ponytail. Adjusting her shirt from the night of tossing and turning, she jumped down from her bed and landed gracefully on the floor. With a quick spin on her heels she glided over to Faira. "Of course Seattle's gonna love us everyone loves us! I mean besides what else do they have to do, it's so rainy here." She said, rolling her eyes playfully. Upon reaching the ringleader of the unusual bunch she smiled and rubbed her eyes. "Well since you're asking I'll take two eggs over easy and hash browns pretty please" With her order complete she looked outside to see that Faira had already completed the construction for the Carnival, including all the circus tents. It was a dazzling site, really everyone who came enjoyed it. Kids, Adults, Old People, everyone was amazed by the magical charms that the little bunch of misfits made.

Everything seemed so still and lifeless. The darkness for most would be an uncomfortable place, but not for him. He found himself staring into the pitch black sea more then any person should. Occasionally the small glimpse of light would pop up from behind him, but that was just the sparks jumping from his body. Though, Sir Gallows would take anything he could get that resembled light. It brought him slight peace. Sleeping did nothing for him so he continued his line of duty throughout the night as a guard watching over the carnival corral. It was a bit harder to see anything since he had to lower himself to a sitting position to be able to fit within the bunk room. Should anything happen to interfere he would be ready to spring into action as scout the darkness for any slight unusual movement.

Then..A light..? Not from his own, but in the east and it grew wider and taller. Was this some bandit? A sneaky journalist trying to get a photo perhaps? Whatever the case, the large hand of the knight slowly hovered upon the handle of the unusually large shovel. Sir Gallows was ready to push himself into defensive mode, if there was actually any trouble.

It was only Faira. Praise the king..

But now she that was here he could finally stand and leave the bunk room. With a strong press, Sir Gallows pushed himself to his feet. Luckily he was able to fit under the roof just barely. The armor on him clinked together, the rusted chains rattled, and light static pops sparkling from the metal rods in his body. Slowly lumbering his way towards the exit and out into the sun's beam. Each step that landed caused a slight rumble in the ground beneath.

As he approached Faira he stopped and looked down at her. Bringing a gauntlet over his chest in a greeting, and salute before stepping outside the bunk-room.

Shira 'Red' Khan
As dawn Aproached and light settled over seattle well more or less settled it was a grey light. Seattle was always cloudy and rainy. In Her Carvan away from the Others, She tended to dream a lot and with dreams came use of fire and with setting her bunk Mates on fire one to many times she slept in her own caravan. Shira was dreaming again, something dark coming for threatening circus and her gut was pulling her towards it even though she wished to resist it. However being an Unseelie fae her dark side craved the darkness and destruction. However Shira had tried to leave that all behind. The Darkness crept closer in her dream and the roof seemed to be dripping constantly into her face. As a dark shadow started to curl over the Carnival. Her air cutting off and she gasped grabbing at her throat.

Shira woke with a gasp and was breathing heavily. She sighed and felt the dripping still. She looked up to see Mangas her hellhound sleeping and drooling. "Gross." She muttered and wiped her forehead. Shira sighed and sat up looking outside it was still dark. With a small yawn she waited a bit before going to bathe and watch the sunrise. She walked back just as everyone was being woken. Shira lifted an eyebrow and shook her head at the groans and unpleasant words. Shira held back a slight snicker her eye's caught the Italian annoyance She liked to The child. Shira was not in favor of Anya. Her mischievous was more childish and put the fae mischief to shame. For the fae liked to play pranks and be mischievous. However they were not in such a way that they were considered childish. She walked over to Faira and smiled as Mangas joined her."I would like fruits and Milk, a rare steak." She said at the request of what wold they like for breakfast. She was wide awake and in her always favorite color Red. She was in a flowing skirt and red strapless corset.

Her eye's went to the circus and everything being up. She had watched Faira put the Carnival up many times. Her Claw like nails scratched gently at her dogs head. Mangas was sitting and making noises as he iched his ear. She went over to the fire pit and lit her finger tips as she created a fire ball and threw it at the wood lighting the fire for the others. It would keep them warm. She was already warm but the others didn't have a built in heater well Gareth did, she wasn't counting him in the ones who could use some heat.

<~~~<>~~~>

Seattle.

Oh she knew this place. She had been here when she was small. She remembered how Daddy raved about the place. This was the place where Daddy played Junior Hockey! The weather here was oh too familiar to her for she herself was from the west coast-- The Wet Coast as people here often knew.

Oh she knew this place. And the memories swelled her heart so much, her eyes should burst with wet happiness; a rainfall of joyous tears. But she could not afford them right now. No, for as she sat atop the magical bunk house in her fuzzy white ermine form, her temperment was still one of caution and wariness for both herself and her dog.

Big, shiny, azure hued eyes had taken in the sight of their new master, this Ring Leader Faira, expertly wielding her magics to create their new Playgrounds and temporary home. It was a powerful and extraordinary sight, yes, but not one the teen girl in a stoat's body had never seen before. This was a sight that set both awe and dread in her belly at the same time.

Polina Rose O'Reilly and her dog Vector had escaped one demented and wicked Carnivale Prison only to find themselves wrapped up in yet another Carnivale. But the question that needed yet to be answered was--

~Just how wicked and demented is this gonna' get, Vec... and when will the pain and screams begin, boy...?

~Nevermind that now, my girl. You should just stop seeing and start sleeping.

~Yeah, okay I'm coming on down. Just give me a sec--

~Do not go see that Fire starter and its pets. Go to sleep, Polina. Be safe and--

~Okay, okay, boy. I'm coming...

One last glance at the distant lodging of the Fire dancer did she cast. And another flash of orange burst from behind the windows and that was enough for Po to heed Vector's warning. And so the sleek body of the ermine slunk its way back into the bunkhouse and into the warmth of the dog pelt did she go. Vector's thoughts instantly became much stronger to Po as their mental link increased with physical closeness. And now even though she was happy to nestle up with him, he could not help but sense the dread still toiling deep within her mind.

Normally he would try to allay her worries and despairs with calming words of care and thoughtfulness. But not now. For she had good reason to feel dread and worry, yet not in the way she should right now. But to cast them aside would be fool hardy.

For he felt that same dread uprising from within, but his dread was borne of times imminent. Vector felt those waves of oncoming blackness set to wash upon them all.

<~~~<>~~~>
Po did not go back to sleep for she knew that if she did she would end up sleeping in; past experiences brought humiliation and suffering when she did wake up late and not at the ready when expected. Besides, she was still too excited to sleep anymore. And so she just quietly dressed herself in her plain canvas one-piece dress as she normally wore. When done, she donned the dog pelt that was her best friend and confidante; Vector. And although unnecessary now, she still allowed the bone protrusion to rise out from her scalp, neck and shoulders to physically connect and bridge herself to Vector.

When the pain subsided and Vector's happy thoughts merged with her own, she took a kneeling position as she waited for the Ring Leader's next orders. To pass the time, she began brushing her silvery hair as well as Vector's limp doggy arms around her shoulders. And as always she kept herself rather close to Sir Gallows-- the one she and Vector had come to affectionately know as; Big Guy.

True that the large metal man was, by nature, a guard and so that made it much easier for Po to find herself naturally gravitating to the steel giant. But not just that. There was a natural connection she felt with him; they were both 'modified' into something more than human, and yet, less than human at the same time. And he was a nice guy too. If he did have bones still in that metal armour of his, both Po and Vec could not detect a single mean one within the Big Guy.

Suddenly, the curtain's were drawn and the light of the west coast shone in upon all within here. Polina rose instantly and as always, she held her hands behind her back, body poised in her good girl stance, chin lowered demurely, green eyes cast at the ground. And as always she nodded once respectfully at her master as she did every day since the day when she was rescued.

<~~~<>~~~>

Po waited for her turn to speak, head still lowered, yet internally longing to follow behind Sir Gallows. Undoubtedly, she would look just like a lost puppy trailing at his ankles.

"I will just take from the left-overs, Ms. Dunaval," said Po softly and honestly; it was how noobs ate as was custom at her former home in that Devil's Carnivale.

And even though others wandered about freely and comfortably, Po just waited for Faira's command or dismissal before she acted next.

Unlike some of the others, Amanda was not woken up by an intrusive ray of light. After being apart of this circus for twenty years, Amanda's body was trained to wake up at a certain time with relative ease. She also slept with her feet detached because Anya was a damned pest and Amanda hated having anything done to her while she was asleep. She may have been a pushy person herself, but she didn't fuck with people when their guards were down. She didn't however count on the little thing yanking at her blanket. "One day..." She grumbled, her face smushed against the mattress. "One day I'm gonna wake you up by yanking you out of your damn bed onto the floor."

Sitting up, Amanda popped her feet back onto their respective stumps and rolled out of bed, yawning loudly and smacking her lips. "No need to make anything for me, boss. I'll just get a bowl of cheerios. Do we have any milk left? Eh, doesn't matter, I'll use some soda." She murmured as she exited the tent and headed towards a rain barrel near the fire pit. Sure she could just wash up like a normal person, but...She didn't really want to and this was the quickest way to get energized. Inspecting the surface for any bugs, Amanda deemed it was clear and dunked her head in then whipped it back up, creating an arc of water. "Ah!" She gasped in delight before shaking her hair dry like a wet dog. "Sorry for anyone in the splash zone!" She called before heading to get breakfast.

Alexia Nighting

With eyes bursting open at the first ray of light hitting her face, Alexia was already up and at 'em. She began to grin as she lifted her head up to see the others waking from their bunks only to be greeted by Faira asking what they had wanted for breakfast. Alexia preferred to stay in her bunk for a brief moment, staring at blankness above her with her violet gaze before finally deciding it was high time to get up. Hopping down from the top bunk, making sure she didn't hit anyone, she took a long stretch while yawning heavily for a few seconds, allowing her wings a final stretch before she went outside. Turning towards the others getting up she smiled as they walked out and she had just about walked out as well but before doing so looked down to see she was still wearing her night time clothes. Her pale white face lit up with a bright rose red blush in embarrassment for having almost walked outside in her nightwear, turning around back towards the bottom of the bunk bed where she put her stuff the night before. Reaching her hand underneath it she pulled out a long black trench coat and unfold it to reveal her stage clothes -her all black long sleeve and pants- quickly taking them all and rushing around to the other tent nearby for a brief moment, completely forgetting to say good morning to anyone.

After getting ready and cleaning up a bit she walked back to the bunks, her trench coat thrown over her shoulders as she walked back over to Faira and the others. "Morning everyone!" She exclaimed, grinning at the others as she walked over to the fire, then turning to Faira. "If you'd like, I could help make breakfast." She offered, more than aware that Faira was well more than capable of doing so herself but she felt the need to at least offer helping rather than just tell her what she wanted. After doing so she put both her arms through the sleeves of her coat and pulled up a nearby log by the newly lit fire, chuckling as she saw Amanda dunk her head into a a barrel of water. She hadn't been a fan of fire but she wasn't afraid of it nonetheless and instead sat and enjoyed the comfort of it. Glad that she got to spend another morning in the company of the others. Unsure of what to talk about, Alexia tried to think of a casual topic for them to discuss, racking her mind for anything before looking up into the sky only to see it all grey and cloudy. "So! Nice weather we're having hm?" She asked, hoping that someone would reply so she wouldn't look like she were talking to herself.

Magic
Almost as old as time and as worldly as the world itself, Mr. Magnificent didn't sleep or dream. Sleep was for the tired but more for the dreamers of the world. The Magical Man didn't need sleep for rest or for dreaming. It's been almost a century since he fully let his body shut off for a night. Only going into a Meditated Awake State to keep his body strong and connected to the spiritual and magical realms. While everyone else slept, he was just in a quiet state. Which was a good thing. With all the talk of some unknown evil destroying other carnivals, someone had to stay watchful just to make sure no one got attacked by the evil that was surely coming for them all soon. Why shouldn't it be Mr. M. One of the oldest members of the Carnival and one of the more powerful and capable defenders as well.

In this Meditated Awaken State, his mind played out in the physical realm. His thoughts turning into a scene that out of a movie. On display for the ones who were awake when he was in this state or just waking and happening to catch the "show" before Mr. M came back to the earth plane mentally. Feeling the first rays of morning light cascade over his face, his emerald green eyes fluttering open. The scene turning into a cloud of colorful smoke, before disappearing all together. Since he never slept, Magnificent didn't use one of the beds in the large area where they all had slept for the night; so he simply could be seen floating in the middle of the room. Levitating back down to the floor; bare feet finding themselves resting on the slightly cold wood.

Charming gaze watched as everyone woke up and moved around to greet Faira and to tell her what they wanted for breakfast. He waited for everyone to go ahead of him, before snapping his fingers and changing out of his old attire and into an expensive looking black and dark purple three piece tuxedo, with that infamous elongated tailcoat he loved soo much. Adding an obnoxiously large top hat to boot. Another excellent part of being a magic user was that he never had to waste too much time getting dressed. Magically cleaning his body of any impurities in his meditated state.

Once his outfit was put together and looked as perfect as usual, he tipped off his hat in Faira's direction and bowed. Coming up with a smirk on his face. Walking over to the Ringleader, with that same aura of peace and serenity he always had. "Dear Faira... you should let me cook for the lot this time around." Looking past the curtain and at the beautiful way everything was setup. "After all, you did soo much last night and this morning. The least I could do in return is cook. Relaxing is something even you need to do, once in a blue moon." Grinning down at her.

Ringleader
Faira smiled warmly at the group that was rising up with a record low of grumbling and complaining. She loved the group deeply though.
Faira heard two offers to make breakfast which she didn't decline.
"Be my guest. I have to do a little bit more touchups on the rides before we set up shop. Can you be a dear and make me some scrambled eggs?" She said that last few words as she headed outside once more. Sir Gallows was out there as usual looking quiet and reserved. He was an interesting case. He wasn't one to complain about anything and his stoic presence gave her peace. She desperately wished she could find something to repay him. Did he want to be alive again? She had thought about asking him numerous occasions, but her words failed her every time. Would it be an insult to him? She sighed audibly but gave the giant a warm smile before slipping off to a building a little ways off. It was where all the outfits were except Mr. Magnificent. He liked making his clothes appear out of thin air instead. She carefully checked each sparkling outfit for any rips or tears. Deciding everything was in order, she then went by every stall set up. They were harder to set up due to the small pieces and trinkets that were everywhere and needed extra attention. She had made some mistakes setting up tents before (the whole thing just fell on everyone in it) so she needed to check it or she grew anxious. One of the festival's lions strode up near her as she walked and she petted it. All the animals at the carnival didn't need to be locked up. They weren't aggressive creatures with the auras she had covered the area in. They were now just really big obstacles whenever they decided they wanted to lay down in the middle of a doorway.
"C'mon, the carnival will be open soon and you have to get in the big tent." Faira patted the lion who gave her a low grumble and sauntered off. Two elephants followed it and Faira rolled her eyes.
The big tent was for the main events where she let everyone in the carnival do an act. Some of them operated rides normally, but a few times a day they put on a grand display. The carnival didn't have a whole lot of members to make it very big, so Faira had made golems to operate things wherever she needed them. She put illusions over them to make them look human and gave them orders. Everything ran smoothly like a well oiled machine.
Faira had just gotten done looking over everything when something caught her eye as she was headed back towards the bunk. The carousel was operating. Faira sighed and made her way over. When she reached it, she noticed how it seemed more sinister. The colorful paint was gone. When had this happened? The ride creaked and stopped, which startled the woman. Faira was a little set off by this, especially when she went over to the controls and found them all off. The ride then started to go backwards. The temperature seemed to drop twenty degrees, and Faira was now worried. She turned to go back to the bunks but they were gone. Nothing but a vast sea of dead grass and stormy sky were to be seen. She turned back to the carousel which was still going backwards and making odd noises. The horses on it seemed to be moving now and looking more realistic. She could steam escape their nostrils as they bucked and galloped. Faira wasn't scared until she saw blood pooling from the area the pole that the horses on the carousel were attached. They were writhing as the ride went on. The ride's music that was usually charming had turned odd and daunting and set chills up her spine. Faira finally shook herself out of her stupor and quickly made a series of movements with her hands as she whispered a spell. Gold threads traveled up the ride and encased it in golden light. Faira put her palms together in a quick instant and the ride vanished, leaving nothing but an area of grass. Her breathing was rapid as she gazed around. She expected to be attacked or something, but instead she heard clapping. She turned around to see a shadow-like man a few paces from her. His features were gray and sharp, his eyes glinting like obsidian as he smiled. Sharp white teeth caught her eye.
"What cute magic. Banishment spell? What a shameful thing to do to your own ride though." Faira gritted her teeth as the man spoke.
"Who are you and where have you taken me?" She snapped as she threw out her hand and gestured to the gray landscape.
"We're in your head. It was hard getting to you, that was for certain. Protection spells and wards really are your strength. However, we used one of your dear members to get in. Her nightmares are nothing but our doing and were a nice way here."
Faira snarled and and hurled a beam of pure golden magic. It hit him squarely in the chest. The area she hit seemed to swirl. Gold and black pooled together before the gold seeped out like it was his blood. It fell on the ground and was absorbed. The patch of grass turned green where it had landed. Faira didn't know what to say to that, and it seemed the man wasn't in a rush to explain, so she gave him a questioning glance.
"Our magic counteracts. We're on two opposite sides of the spectrum, Faira Dunuval. However, I have my ways to overpower you and your little friends. You can't run. You'll be like those horses on that carousel...forced to run but never able to get away. I could probably get you right now...but as us carnival members always say...the show must go on."

Faira found herself back where she was. The air was warmer and she heard the natural commotion of the carnival. However, the carousel she had been in front of was gone, leaving nothing but a patch of dead grass.

Her nerves were shot, and she headed back to the bunk looking visibly distressed. Had it been real? Was she truly not going to be able to get everyone away?

Anya just going to go back to the bunk when she met Faira halfway. The ringleader looks pale and distressed, it is something new of her. Anya stood in place and considering what shall she do, shall she inquire what happens? No, maybe not, if the ringleader would share her difficulties, it would be to the seniors. After all, what can she do? Change into funny forms? Anya just considered doing that, before her instinct tells her it probably inappropriate, its probably something real serious.

Anya unsure what to do and look around, maybe one of them the others are wandering too and could help. As Anya's eyes glance the surrounding, she blinks several times toward an empty spot on the carnival. Wasn't the carousel was there when she running around? She gulps as she felt by her instinct that something was really wrong. Quickly, Anya chases Faira until she is walking beside her.

"Miss..." Anya speaks, worry fill her voice until she realizes she won't be helping if she is worried too. Anya quickly makes a smile as big as possible and shows a cheerful face. Obviously, she is cheating, as she shapeshifted her expression. "Cheezy cheerios cheers! Your smile brings hope, Miss Faira. And Anya is hungry!" Anya says, half rambling as she tries to not seems giving unsolicited advice.

Shira 'Red' Kahn

Shira still felt the trendils of the blackness from her dream gripping at air trying to reach her. So much so that she had to look behind her. She saw a mist and fog, but it was no fog it was dark shadow's reaching calling for her. She no longer felt the fires warmth she had started. She no longer felt the others presence. Her breath clung to the air as it chilled. A voice seemed to surround her."Oh little fae come home to darkness. It calls to you. it seemed to get louder and then stop into one shadowy figure. A man. "Shira join me and destroy the Carnival from the inside and I will give you everything you could ever want. Your a Dark Fae once they find out who you are, they will turn their backs on you. I am offering you something Faira Dunval can't give you... Answers and a new life" He spoke. "Answers?" She asked."To your past, present and future." He told her. "Your mother's death, who your father is." He said in a coaxing tone. Shira stopped Even Faira no matter how wonderful she is,could not give her the answers she been looking for. "I don't believe you, this is a trick." She snapped." Ahh yes a gesture to show I am not lieing if I do this for you, you must do something for me. Do we have a deal?" He seemed to ask her. Her breath came in short as he walked up to her. "Your mother was killed by hunters, who wished to See all fae dead you were just a fae child hidden in the bushes you do not remember, because you blocked it out." He said grabbing her wrist lightly. The vision had flashed before her eye's. Shira immediately pulled her hands away."How do I know your not just showing me images I want to see." She growled.

The man chuckled "Clever fae, well then perhaps something you do remember the night you came to the Carnival." He waved his hand and more images danced across her vision. Shira seemed to be in water moving quickly as possible as she ran. The small fae had run right into Faira. The woman picked her up and covered her from the rain and took her in.Shira had tears in her eye's."Why,why are you doing this, I won't help you." She said."Oh but my dear you already have and will continue. you have become weak and I will control you and everything you love will no longer deem to exhist." He said and turned into a shadow diving for her. Shira dropped to the floor and put her hands on her head closing her eye's. She had let out a shriek and when she opened her eye's she was back the fire crackled behind her and She was crouched with hands to her head. Shira breathed in deeply. That feeling of dread was still their and she saw a shadow move along the grass. Shira excused herself and followed it. She stopped when she saw where it was headed to the Carousel. Shira watched it engulf the machinery and make it dull. It worked of its own accord. When Shira heard footsteps, she went to hide and watched Faira, the woman seemed to go into a trance as she had. This thing was toying with her family and Shira didn't like it. When the Carousel disappeared she slunk quickly any to make sure she was not caught their how could she explain she was their, She was following shadows and Faira might blame her for this. Shira went back to the fire with the others and rubbed her wrist it was like she had been burned. She looked to see a small dark symbol show up on her wrist. Shira kept her hand over it and turned her head when their Ringleader rejoined the group. She could tell the woman was on edge. Shira knew how she felt. Shira had to speak with her and immediately.

Shira made her way to Faira. She bowed her head."May I speak with you alone in my Caravan. It is urgent and important I speak with you. " She said Shira looked around her and her skin prickled with cold which never happened to her. It was like the black shadows were clinging to her sucking her warmth away. Her carnival family knew she was fae but not dark fae.Only Faira knew that. It was best she kept that part hidden,no one would trust her if they knew and as the man had said they would turn on her. She saw Anya and bit her lip. She nods to the young woman, but she must truly Speak to the Ringleader alone. Shira was in a bind could this be all her fault? Shira turned her head when she heard a whisper in the wind it had been her name "Shira we will be seeing you soon. My little dark flower.Shira." The wind whispered in her ear. Shira shivered and put her hands on her arms

SIR GALLOWS

The smile of the ringleader brought some comfort into the large cold body of his. It was nice to know he was appreciated and still had some use after all these years. Even though truly at times he felt like he didn't fit here like the rest of the crew. Most others had magic, or some type of talent. Him? Ah, the good sir had nothing but size, years of undeath, and electricity. Likely good to power one of carnival rides should he be asked. The one he seemed to relate closest with was the young girl Po. She seemed to understand how it felt to be not of this world, but still wandering around searching for answers. The company she brought was pleasant and like Miss Faira brought him comfort.

Lumbering his way outside and into the sun's rays exposing more of his worn down body. Starting with the dingy faded helmet that always hid his face, but if you looked close enough you could see his whitened eyes. The right arm that often wielded the mighty shovel in defense of the other carnival members. It was deformed, gray, and looked like stone almost. The only thing off was his left shoulder that had been fused with large tubes that were used in his experimentation. Part of his chest armor in the back dented and torn to expose where the giant metal rods spiked out of his spine. They carried a slight current but nothing too serious. Leading down to his waist which was covered by rusted plate leggings that had their share of dents but were covered by an old tattered cloth that was made from long ago by the Order he served. down to the greaves that were in the worst condition. Completely covered by mud, dry blood, and moss. Perhaps he would have to observe Mr. Magnificent's fashion..

His patrol began along the outskirts of the Carnival making sure no one tried to get into the show earlier then Miss Faira required. Most of the young teens wouldn't dare get close because they knew he was always watching for intruders and did so vigilantly. Even if it meant waiting a few hours for the preparations to be completed. But some reason, today felt different. And usually things never felt anything other then cold, dead, and watchful. It truly put him off and made his lumbering rhythm go off-beat. Sir Gallows never went to anyone about any concerns because what did he really have to say? Though maybe the others could feel what he felt in the air.

Taking a detour from his normal route, Sir Gallows traveled hastily as he could over to where he saw Miss Faira heading last. Upon his return he saw the ringleader as well as some other concerned members. Did something transpire while he was on his patrol? His metal trunks of legs quickly hurried to the group. Sir Gallows kept a considerable amount of distance, lowering his gaze down at them. A sense of unease was within the air, a unusual warmth for the first time in years hit his body. The way the others looked around like they'd seen some sort of ghost..Other then him.

Whatever the cause, Sir Gallows tightened the hold on the end of his weapon ready to defend at all costs.

Alexia Nighting

Alexia pouted, slightly upset with the fact that no one had seemed interested in talking about the cloudy weather, though she supposed it was moreso that there were other matters to attend to such as setting up the rest of the carnival, and better yet, breakfast. Even though she still enjoyed being around them even if they hadn't seemed talkative, they were her family now and so long as they all got along and had fun along the way she was happy. Looking over at Mr. Magnificent offer to make breakfast for everyone himself she couldn't help but smile at his generosity, she always liked the man though mostly because of how she always found herself mesmerized by his magical talent and different tricks that always had changed each time she saw them. It was never the same thing with him and that's what she liked about him. She'd half a mind to go and help him as well as she had offered previously but not quite yet, all in due time she would do so. Looking back over at the fire in front of her she stared at it for a few, shifting her hand to that of a Ravens back and forth in the meantime as she did so out of habit, thinking about all of the new tricks she could try out and try to incorporate into her birds performance. Though not moments later she lost her train of thought, looking up to see Shira slightly....Disoriented. Hell, she looked as though she had just seen a ghost and for all she knew she bloody well could have! Alexia looked at her peculiarly as if she were about to inquire something but before a word could escape her mouth Shira had left, darting off to go catch up with Faira which Alexia had previously noticed was in the same state of uneasiness.

Even if they didn't quite show it, Alexia knew there was something amiss here but she hadn't been able to put her finger on it. Furthermore, she wondered whether she should even ask what was wrong, though there wasn't much of a doubt in her mind that the three near the Ringleader were more than capable of handling the situation. Sighing, she rolled her eyes. "Children these days." Chuckling to herself she got up off the log and began walking towards them, taking a step forward and began to seem as though she had fallen but instead did a front flip and shifted into a Raven, flying overhead. She looked for something she could perch herself on just to keep a watchful eye, noticing Sir Gallows a ways away she headed towards him and perched herself amongst his shoulder. "You notice something strange as well?" She asked the tall figure, her voice a whisper in his mind but to any others it would look as though he were talking to a bird. As if she weren't insane already she wouldn't want anyone thinking so of the man she sat upon.

<~~~<>~~~>

Their new master had donned each and every one here a smile made of genuine affection, said a few choice words and had turned away, exiting their bunk house with a light flourish.

~Well that went better than expected, eh boy?

~Polina. Each and every morning you have said the same thing since we arrived here, my girl. Why do you keep expecting any different?

~Vector. You of all people know why. You remember pain. You remember shame. You remember--

~Polina. You of all people know that we will never let that happen again. And I am just a dog. Not a people.

~Vec... awww... Vec. I know it's just... it's just... it still hurts. So much, boy. And hey, stop it. You are soooo much more than a dog, boy--

~and you are more than you know, my girl. We will never hurt again, right? We must never hurt again.

~Yeah. Never again. Love ya, Vec. Soooooo much...!

~I love you too, Polina. And they do love you here too. They will not hurt you. You know that a family--

~Alright, aready, boy~~!! Enough, k? Let's go catch up with the Big Guy right?!

The silvery-headed teen lowered her chin and shrouded her face behind those silvery locks. Even though still a bit wary of the care under Ms. Faira Dunaval, Po just could not help but let a hint of a smile creep up at the corners of her mouth. The Ring Leader's kindness really was a welcome relief as opposed to the show of magical dominance or just the regular open handed slap given daily by their former RingMaster. A pale, slender hand rose to her pink cheeks and gently traced the area where she was usually struck... then traced downward to cover her smile. Was it truly over? Was it?

Big green eyes followed after Faira's svelte form as the woman traipsed away; a strange glint made of what seemed like fondness shone from within those teenaged eyes--

~See. I told you they do love you here. She will not hurt you. You know that a family--

~Awwww shuddup, Vec! What do you know? You're just a little fuzzy ol' doggie!!

The laughter within their heads drowned out Vectors protests and retorts and all he could do was mentally shake his head at her. But it did him some good to feel her happiness. And even though the laughter was internal and shared by only their thoughts, her laughter came from her heart. It was genuine.

Finally.

<~~~<>~~~>

Properly dismissed by Ms. Dunaval, Po undressed and shifted now. And so, the girl padded her shaggy white lupine form on over towards the shovel-wielding metal giant, Sir Gallows. A magnificent sight was she now. Shocking and wild azure eyes shining bright, she was power on four legs, muscular body rippling as she bounded faster towards the Big Guy.

And yet as magnificent as she looked, she was just as peculiar to behold. For covering this white wolf's head, neck and back was a tan and black King Shepherd dog's pelt. And the amber eyes of the dog pelt were open and very alive. And crammed in the mouth of the dog pelt was a rolled up simple canvas dress. It was as if the wolf was wearing a unique shaggy hero's cape, billowing in the wind as the animal swiftly moved. When Po finally sidled up to Sir Gallows, her tongue lolled from her mouth and both sets of tails, the one on the draped pelt and the one on the white wolf, wagged amiably in unison.

The trio stalked the perimetre at the seemingly leisurely pace of the re-animated armoured man. Po and Vec kept their senses on high alert as they ambled from lead position and back again to the side of Sir Gallows. Theirs was a quiet duty for rarely any words passed from giant to wolf. Yet none was really necessary, for they both knew their roles as sentries and each seemed to complement each others skill set. And even though words rarely passed between the two on duty, the Knight's protective aura and sure-handed company was more than enough to set Po and Vec as ease.

They both really liked the Big Guy. And it showed when they were not on duty, for Po would talk softly to the Knight and the smiles she had for him were true and heart-felt. Much to Vector's surprise, she was slowly opening up to someone here in the short time they had been here.

<~~~<>~~~>

And then the scream.

Both sets of ears perked up as Po turned her snout in the direction of the piercing sound. 'Red' was in trouble.

~Stay, my girl. Steady and stay--

~But, Vec! It's Red! Something must be wrong cuz--

~Polina, steady and stay--

~I need to see if she is alright! I need to--

~POLINA! Your infatuation with her will do her, you, me, nor the Big Guy any good! STAY!

~Infatu-- what the hell, Vec?! I don't know what you're talking about, boy! I'm soooooooooo not into her, k? I just... j-just--

~Good. Then steady and stay. If we are needed we will be summoned. It is up to the Ring Leader to deal with this blackness. Not us.

~Blackness...? Wait. Wut?! What blackness?! Vec! What blackness?! You know something but you're not telling me! Hey! Vec--

~Big Guy is moving! Let's go, my girl! GO!!

Polina shook her head internally at Vec, but soon enough, she was rocketing ahead of the armoured giant checking for immediate physical danger. Po took pause and visually scoured the area, allowing Sir Gallows to catch up. Her heart was pounding and tumbling with mixed emotions and nothing Vec could say right now could calm her. And so he did not even try. The teen girl was correct about what she said about her King Shepherd being more than just a dog; he was wise beyond his years upon this earth. He was a Kindred Spirit. And he knew about blackness for it was in him to protect His Girl from it. Perhaps he knew not exactly about the one that pervaded this Carnivale, but he sensed enough of it to let His Girl know that she should not interfere. No, not interfere but know that it was there. Correction. Not there but--

~It is here, my girl... Here and now...

~WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF, VEC?! You're scaring me!

Upon reaching the destination, the trio had paused and stood abreast, the canines' ears twitching in all directions at once and the Big Guy readying his shovel. Suddenly overhead the Raven that was not really a raven soared towards them and landed upon the shoulder of the Big Guy. The white wolf inadvertantly let out a low rumbling growl then ceased a heartbeat later. Internally, Po sighed in relief upon recognizing it was Ms. Nighting and not this... this 'blackness' that Vec was spewing off about.

Azure hued wolfen eyes met the midnight eyes of the midnight bird and a polite nod did the wolf give. Po felt much better now that they had reconvened with the other despite the heavy, smothering intensity in the air.

~Stay close to the Big Guy and the Dark Angel, Polina.

~Yeah, you got it, boy. Not going anywhere.

But it was not from a need of being protected by Sir Gallows and Alexia that Vector told Polina to stay put. No, it was from a need for Polina to stay away from Faira and Shira. There was no need for His Girl to be involved with whatever those two had to talk about; he could see it in the Fire Starter's eyes. The blackness was here now and there was no need to tempt the teen girl's curiosity and let her in on things she just could not understand... nor appreciate. Vector felt His Girl needed to focus in on other things right now. Things like trust. Polina's trust was but a candle in the wind dangerously on the verge of being blown out. And Vector needed that candle to be shielded by the likes of a Knight and a Whisperer. And here they were. Yet did she trust them?

~We will protect the Big Guy and the Dark Angel too, yes?

~Oh hell yes, Vec. We got each others' backs, man!

An internal hug between the girl and her dog. He was pleased. Yes, she did trust them and that was all that mattered in this moment. It would be the greatest strength for the girl use for whatever was to happen next.

Though Gareth may have an internal heater, it did sometimes need help getting to a good temperature, especially in the morning. So when the fire was started, he quickly stood in front of it to soak up as much heat as possible, using his power to make it spread to each log faster. He even lit a twig on fire and ate it. Yes, he ate some wood, maple if he had to guess. But it was mostly for the fire. Like lighting a pilot light, it kick started the rest of his system. And that it did, as he visibly shook with new found energy and sighed, "Ah, much better. Now where are my waffles?"

Despite being a former sous chef, Amanda had bizarre tastes and taste buds. She knew how to make a good meal for others. But for herself...Well, let's just say that if you put her and a pigs eating habits on a chart, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. She was the type of person to dip her fries and her burger in a milkshake and just laugh when people around her gagged. Thankfully, though most of the troop were used to her weird eating habits and no one batted an eye when she doused her fruity pebbles in Pepsi and begin to eat voraciously. Each bite was a surge of bubbly, sugary happiness and she loved it. When there was no more cereal in her bowl and all that remained was cereal dust and soda, she tipped her head back and slurped the dredges up. Releasing a raucous belch, she patted her stomach and stood up to stretch, before heading to the freakshow area.

Dunaval was nothing like the last 'freakshow' Amanda had been in, so she didn't demonstrate the removal of her limbs before the crowd. Sometimes there were children present and she didn't want to scar them for life by lobbing of her big toe and spraying them with blood. So before the public was let in, Amanda set up some logic activities (puzzles, a rubix cube etc.) and sometimes a tiny stove with pasta ingredients, so the crowd could watch her disembodied hands fix a meal, before reattaching to her.

Looking around as she climbed into her 'display box' (a plexi glass human sized cube), Amanda saw that she was the first of the freak show to arrive in their designated area. Pouting a bit, Amanda began setting things up, wishing she had some company.

Fleur Valetina

After Faira had dismissed them, Fleur set off to explore the carnival. She had an act inside the big tent and that wouldn't start until later tonight. However, Fleur never liked to be rusty and was always practicing her skills. Walking in a straight line, she didn't really have a destination, she was just going with the flow. That was just her personality. Taking a deep breath Fleur raised her hands over her head and started running. Easily gracefully into a round-off back handspring and finishing it with a tuck. Landing gracefully on her feet she bounced backwards, a large smile on her face as she felt the adrenaline running through her veins. Fleur lived to entertain, and for her flying through the air was the most amazing feeling. Continuing to practice her acrobatics, she ended up near the freakshow are. She stopped for a minute and decided to look around, during the carnival she'd have to stay in the big tent, meaning she didn't have much of an opuntinty to see the cool acts of her fellow members. You'd be surprised how much of an impact the freak show made. Before them, the carnival was.. well just a circus really. The freak show added this mysterious and exciting quality to the carnival, and Fleur was happy to see what they brought to their little family.

Walking around like a child herself, Fleur was admiring the decorations and such when she saw Amanda in a giant glass box. She remembered when Amanda was brought here, the poor girl seemed so lost and hurt. Luckily, she'd never feel that way again, and Fleur made her way over to talk to her. "Hi Amanda, you look lonely.. Mind if I sit and chat with you?" She asked, plopping down on the soft grass in front of Amanda's station. "What's with the rubric cube? I can never solve these things they make my head hurt." She said with a light hearted laugh.
